The Date (Peter Parker x Reader)

“How do I look?” You asked coming out the bathroom of his bedroom.

Peter took his time to watch you, and you felt a little uncomfortable under his stare.

You were wearing black skinny jeans and a red blouse. He saw you way more dressed up than this, but this was a casual date after all. You were going to the cinema with a guy from your math class.

“Too good for him” he answered you, jealousy tinting his voice. Or maybe you were just hearing things that you wanted to hear when there’s only worry about his best friend.

“Jealous much?” you teased him anyway with a little laugh before pecking a kiss on his cheek.

He frown but didn’t answer the question.

“So… you are really going out with him”

The fact sounded awfully weird, even to you. But you couldn’t cancel now.

“I was trying to be polite. Couldn’t say no. But I regret it now”

“It’s ok, just take care”

This was your best friend.

You and Peter had known each other since you were ten, six years ago. You like him and sometimes you think he likes you too. But he never did anything to let you know and, even when you tried to make the first move, he seems to be oblivious to your feelings. Maybe he sees you as a sister.

David was not the best date in the world. But you didn’t either. You couldn’t even concentrate on the things he was saying.

Your mind wasn’t in the dinner that you were having or in the movie you just saw. It was in another place, in another person. You were completely lost in a memory.

It was the first day of school six years ago. You were new at school and in the city. You didn’t have any friend who lives in less than 500 miles, not even one.

In the desk behind you was a really cute kid. He was wearing an orange t-shirt and round glasses. His curly hair was a little messy and he was already looking at you when you turned back.

‘Hi!’ you started writing on a piece of paper ‘I’m (Y/N). What’s your name?’

You dropped it on his desk and that’s how your friendship began.

“Are you even listening?”

“Sorry, what?”

He sighed.

“You like him, don’t you?”

“Who?”

The question took you by surprise, but you already knew who he was talking about but you didn’t want to tell him so easily.

“Parker, your friend”

You sighed and nodded.

The night wasn’t as bad as you thought it would be. David and you ended up as friends and you had a really good time.

The next day you woke up at 10 and decided to call Peter. It was a Saturday after all.

Yesterday you had promised yourself that you would talk with him about your feelings. But before you could call, your house’s phone started ringing.

“Going!” you picked up the phone and placed it in your ear “Hello?”

“(Y/N)!!” a voice screamed through the line.

“Oh, shit Parker. You’re gonna make me deaf”

He laughed. You could picture him in your mind with tears in his eyes because of the laughter.

“I’m sorry”

“No, you’re not” you giggled with him when he apologized.

“You’re right.” You took notice of the change in his tone as he continued talking. “Well… I… I was wondering… if you… maybe… wanna-go-out-with-me?”

You smiled. He was so cute.

“Of course I wanna go out with you, Pete.”

“Not like that, I was thinking of something more like a… real date. Maybe. If you want to”

YES!! YES!! YES!!

You looked at the time on your cellphone and waited for two minutes just to make him nervous. That was just how your relationship worked.

“Pick me up at four,” you said with a smile before hanging up.

Now you needed to pick a dress.
