iced jems

So i made a shit typo and wrote rivier instead of river and i wanted to make an oc with that name so i just sorta fucking inspired myself of a dream i had and bingo these two were born:

- Rivier, a wingless riding dragon with the ability to camouflage and spit liquid nitrogen (this makes her an ice dragon lmao). Her fins are also fully mobile and they can be used as an expressive/threat display or to soak up sunlight.

- Jem, her rider, who is actually part of a group of feared raiders. They usually attack nomads and rob them of supplies, information, and more often than not they take their lives as well. Jem is also very mean. (her real name is actually Jeanne Marie but if you say it out loud she will wreck you)

After getting ice for your face, Jem escorts you back to your cell. She seems more detached than normal, seeming to be lost in thought while barely still carrying on conversation.

Hey Jem… you okay?

Babysitting - A Jessa Drabble

Jem heard the door open and smiled but didn’t stop playing. He was drifting in the music today. It filled the little apartment and reminded him of the way the house had felt when his parents had played. Some days music was just sounds. Some days music was magic and today it was magic.

He was playing old pieces. Songs his father had known by heart, some of which he could only find the names of by listening to hours of clips on the internet. Today it was one of Bach’s more obscure sonatas that his father had adored but few other people could even identify.

As the last notes faded he finally turned to see Tessa standing in the kitchen. Her London apartment was small but beautiful and situated above a bookshop she also owned. Unlike the house in LA or the apartments in New York and Shanghai this was not a space that was theirs. It was a place that was hers. She shared it with him but it wasn’t his. Whether in spite of or because of that it was one of his favourite places in the world.

It was the first place she had taken him after he had found her again on Blackfriar’s Bridge. That might have been part of the reason that he loved it so very much.

She stood in the kitchen in a sundress and a pair of sandals with a contraption resting on the floor by her feet. He frowned at it in confusion.

“What’s that?” he asked.

“A bassinet,” she said.

“That’s a thing to carry babies,” he said.

“Yes,” she said.

“Does it have a baby inside?” he asked.

“Yes,” she said.

Lucas got christened

Sunday was the big day, months of planning a winter themed christening, fell into place and was a success.

Four families and handful of friends came together to witness Lucas get christened and then tucked into some yummy food.

The christening!

God Parents
We chose 3 god parents.
Kai & Mark as godfathers and Soph as godmother.
We thought so hard and made the decision to chose these 3, we wanted someone with a close bond and relationship with Lucas, people who were really good with him and who we knew would be great for guidance as he grew up.

Our outfit’s
Lucas wore a grey pinstriped suit from america, Flat cap from DEBENHAMS, and little Burgundy converse from OFFICE.
Brad wore a navy suit and pale blue shirt all from TOPMAN, tie from TOPMAN and Faux Navy Vans from BOOHOO.
&
Nicole wore a navy blue velvet dress from BOOHOO, blue bow from LOLAS WARDROBE and taupe wedges from TOPSHOP.

The venue

We chose the peartree pub as it was next to my mums house and opposite the church, so was a perfect place. It needed a little TLC but 2 hours of decorating and it was lovely.

We chose wintery desserts and warm, filling food for main.

We had slow cookers filled with soups, stews and chilli and french sticks, tortillas and dips. It was a hit and OH SO YUMMY! We had winter thmed desserts, lots of marshmellows, cake pops, cakes and biscuits but best of all was Lucas’ cake.

Made by JADES ICED JEMS on facebook, I was so happy with how it turned out, yummy too!!

Lucas also had a wishing tree, People wrote little messages and wishes for Lucas and hung them on the tree, the tags will go into his baby book to keep forever.

We also provided a kids table as well to keep them all occupied.

The night before also consisted of making 20 pom poms but was so worth it.

All in all it was a lovely day! We thank everyone who came and were sorry we couldn’t have invited more people.

Lucas looked so cute and babbled through the whole service.

It all proved a little overwheming for him and he fell asleep in mummy’s arms.
