ice hockey players

Kaner came up to me and said, ‘you had two tonight?’ And I said yeah, and he goes, ‘all right, I’m gonna get it to you’, and he did.” - Ryan Hartman, 1st career hat trick

Hello everyone! Please don’t freak out, the movie Love on Ice is actually based on the book written by Lauren Marie, which was published on July last year.
It was not plagiarising Yuri on Ice. (The second picture is taken from a petition that @/Html_karkat started on IG. It’s not… Correct.)
So please

Calm down

Description of the book:
Kate Beck once was a nationally recognized figure skater. Eight years ago, on the brink of being one of the top three skaters in the United States, her dreams came crashing down at the hands of her coach and her mother. She walked away and has hidden from her mother ever since. Moving from place to place, she gets off a bus in Canon City, finds a job and settles in for the winter. She’s been lonely and dreams that one day she’ll meet a man, have a family and be able to stay in one place. It’s been eight years of running. She hopes her mother has given up the search for her.
Jay Hager grew up in Canon City. He once was an ice hockey player who got picked up by the NHL and played briefly for a junior team. At nineteen years of age, he blew his knee out and his career was at an end. He returned to Canon and bought a dilapidated skating rink. His business has done very well. He notices a beautiful strawberry blonde sits every weekend in the bleachers at the rink and she watches the skating classes and his pee-wee hockey team practice. He would like to get to know her, but finds a mystery around her.

Will Kate stay long enough to find love or let her past fears overwhelm all the good emotions she feels for Jay? Will her mother find her and tear her new world apart?
It takes time for one to film a movie, and more time to wait for the movie to air.
I don’t think it’s possible for Hallmark to make the movie within 2 months and less (since YOI begun airing in Oct.)
I do hope that Hallmark will specify that they adapted their movie base on Love on Ice book instead of saying that it’s an “original” series though. Either way, I hope this racket will dies down soon. :/

Avoid going overboard; we are representing the YOI fandom and Kubo-sensei, it will put the rest in a bad light.

So i started reading On Thin Ice by Minadora on ao3 after seeing some animation drawn of these two skating. So my hand slipped. I just had to draw them myself because after reading the first chapter this is how i see these two dweebs.

Ok! So, apparently there was this guy irl named Viktor Nikiforov…

He was a Russian Olympic ice hockey player in the 50s.

They were both born in December, albeit on opposite ends of the month, but that’s not even the craziest part!

If you look at his deathdate, Nikiforov died in 1989. Alright, now here comes the best bit.

Our Viktor…this guy:

His official age according to the Wikipedia is 27. Which means he was born in 1989. That very same year!

And I’m just gonna leave this here.

finlandssvenska vs. rikssvenska aka finnish swedish vs. standard swedish

finnish ice-hockey player kasper björkvist speaks finnish swedish whereas the interviewer speaks standard swedish.

Tyler Seguin just doing Tyler Seguin things.

Imagine this tho

*Yurio’s phone rings*
Yurio: *picks up*
Otabek: “It’s me.”
Yurio: “Hey Otabek.”
Otabek: “Mila Babicheva is a friend of yours right?”
Yurio: “Baba? We aren’t friends, she’s just my rinkmate, that’s all.”
Otabek: “Oh… I see… Either way, what is she like?”
Yurio: “How the Hell should I know. She’s like an annoying grandma, constantly teasing me. And she’s always happy for some reason, except that one time she broke up with that ice hockey player.”
Otabek: “Did she ever ask you to do pair skating?”
Yurio: “Uhm. No? Why are you asking that?”
Otabek: “She asked for my phone number. Since we don’t know each other I couldn’t find another reason why she’d do that.”
Yurio: “Oh.”
Otabek: “Is she always like that?”
Yurio: “As far as I know she never did that before… Uhm. I mean… I guess so.”
Yurio: “So… Are you going to contact her or not?”
Otabek: “Why not? It would be rude to ignore her.”
Yurio: “Oh… okay…”
Otabek: “What’s matter?”
Yurio: “Nothing…”
Otabek: “Are you sure.”
Yurio: “Yes, don’t worry. I don’t mind.”
Otabek: “Wait… You don’t mind what?”
Yurio: “Uhm. Ah? Nothing… Oh, Yakov is calling, I need to go. Bye.”
*quickly ends call*

Whether you ship them or not. Yurio srsly seems like the type that would feel like a third wheel and still be like: “Me jealous? Ofc not, ha, as if I care.”
AND THAT MAKES ME RLLY SAD SOMEHOW. Srsly someone protect Yurio in S2.
