The Arabs only considered generosity to be honoring a guest and feeding others, and whoever did not have these characteristics was not considered generous. This was to the extent that some of them would travel a mile or two looking for a guest.” - Ibn Hibban (رحمه الله)

a thousand daisy seeds
that bloom
each time you speak
so that
perhaps your heart
will soak up its scent
and leave behind its
fragrance with
every step you take.

Day of Arafah: Thursday August 31 rd 2017

“And there is no day better in the sight of Allah than the Day of `Arafah. On this day Allah (Exalted be He) descends to the nearest heaven, and He is proud of His slaves on the earth and says to those in heaven, ‘Look at My servants. They have come from far and near, with hair disheveled and faces covered with dust, to seek My mercy, even though they have not seen My chastisement. Far more people are freed from the Hellfire on the Day of `Arafah than on any other day. ’” (Ibn Hibban)

Ibn Al-Mubarak reported from Sufyan Ath-Thawri, from Az-Zubayr ibn `Ali, from Anas ibn Malik that he said: The Prophet spent the day at `Arafah until almost sunset. Then he said, “O Bilal, ask the people to be quiet and listen to me.” Bilal stood up and asked the people to be quiet and listen to the Prophet. When the people were quiet, the Prophet said, “O people, a little while ago Gabriel (peace be upon him) came to me. Gave me salutations from Allah and informed me that Allah has forgiven those who spend the Day at `Arafah and those who stop at Al-Mash`ar Al-Haram, and that He has guaranteed their debts.”

At this `Umar ibn Al-Khattab stood up and asked, “O Allah’s Messenger, is this for us only?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “This is for you and for all those who will come after you until the Day of Judgment.” `Umar exclaimed, “How plentiful and blissful Allah’s bounties are!”

Muslim and others have reported from `A’ishah that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Allah frees far more people from Hellfire on the Day of `Arafah than on any other day, and Allah comes closer this day and proudly says to the angels, ‘What do these people want and seek?’”Abu Ad-Darda reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “On no other day does the Satan feel so belittled, humiliated, and angry as he does on the Day of `Arafah.”

The reason for this is the mercy of Allah that descends (this day) and the forgiveness that He grants to people for major sins, except the day of the Battle of Badr, which witnessed a far greater mercy of Allah descending upon people, which caused great sadness to Satan.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked, “O Prophet of Allah, what did Satan see on the day of the Battle of Badr?” “He saw Gabriel leading the troops of angels,” he replied. (Malik and Al-Hakim)

🔴The Benefit of a Headache - A headache is a means of forgiveness and reward🔴

📚Abu Said al-Khudri radiallahu anhu that the Prophet sallahu alayhi wa salam said:

صُداعُ المؤمنِ ، أو شوكةٌ يُشاكُها ، أو شيءٌ يُؤذيه ؛ يرفعُه اللهُ بها يومً القيامةٍ درجةً ، ويُكفِّرُ عنه بها ذنوبَه

“The headache that afflicts the believer, or a thorn that pricks him/her, or anything that harms him/her, Allah will raise him/her a degree on the day of resurrection and expiate his/her sins due to it”

[Saheeh Targheeb no. 3434]

Also, not having headaches is a bad sign because the people destined to go the Hell-fire do not have headaches:
Abu Hurairah radiallahu anhu said:

The Prophet sallahu alayhi wa salam said:

“…Have you ever felt a headache? The man said: What is a headache? He sallau alayhi wa salam said: A vein that beats in the head of a person. The man said: No I have not experienced that ever! The Prophet sallahu alahyhi wa salam said: Whoever would like to see a man from the people of the Hell-fire, then look at this man!”

[Reported in Ibn Hibban and graded Hasan Saheeh by al-Albani in Saheeh Mawaarid no. 580]

Having headaches are a sign of the People of Imaan and the People of Jannah.

Hafidh Ibn Rajab rahimahullah said:
وصداع الرأس من علامات أهل الإيمان وأهل الجنة
“…And headaches are from the signs of the People of Imaan and the People of Jannah..”
[Lataaif al-Maa’rif pg. 153]

Then he brings the above Hadith and others.

On the authority of Abu Zayyaat al-Qushairi rahimahullah said: “We entered upon Abu Darda radiallahu anhu to visit him, when a Bedouin entered upon him. So he said: Where is your Ameer? And Abu Darda was the ameer then. So we said: He is complaining of some pain. The man said: I have not complained of anything or he said: I did not experience a headache ever! Abu Darda radiallahu anhu said: Remove him from me, so he dies from his sins. I do not love that for every pain/sickness that I feel that I am given red camels. For verily, the pain/illness of a believer is an expiation for his sins”
[Reported by Bayhaqi in Shuab al-Imaan no. 9436 and the Muhaqiq of the Book Mukhtaar Ahmad Nadwi graded it Jayyid]

The Prophet صلي الله عليه وسلم said:

“If you have Tawakkul on Allaah, in right the manner, He would provide for you just as He provides for the birds. They go out in the morning with empty stomachs and return in the evening full.”

[At-Tirmidhi: 3344, Ibn Hibban: 2548]

Prophet (salallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: Allah the Most Exalted said: By My Glory, I will not give my servant two fears or two assurances at the same time. If he fears Me in this world, he will have no fear in the after life; and if he feels assured by Me (of the Last Judgment) in this world, then he will have no assurance in the other
