Museums in Reykjavík are confusing and many:

-Listasafn Reykjavíkur, or the Reykjavík Art Museum, is actually 3 museums

-One of them is Ásmundursafn, which was built by Ásmundur Sveinsson and houses a sculpture garden of work by Einar Jónsson

-But then there’s also the Einar Jónsson museum, which isn’t related to the other museum

-And there’s also ÁSI, the labor union’s contemporary art museum, that was built by Ásmunder Sveinsson and is next to the Einar Jónsson museum

-Then there’s Þjóðminjasafn Íslands, the National Museum of Iceland

-And Listasafn Íslands (different fron Listasafn Reykjavíkur), the National Gallery of Iceland

-That one also has two other galleries under it’s name; Listasafn Sigurjóns Ólafssonar and the Ásgrímur Jónsson collection

-And there’s Þjóðmenningarhusið, the Culture House, Ljósmyndasafn Reykjavíkur (mine!), and a ton of other ones that are also really really great. And dozens of galleries

-But really it can be confusing.
