Thank you for requesting! ^_^ It was really interesting making a Fraxus edit.

This is what I imagined would happen after the Laxus vs Wahl battle.

Girl meets Wizard of Oz

Just a quick explanation of how Girl Meets World ties with the Wizard of Oz as I feel like this may be useful for the rest of the season. (And really the rest of the show, but definitely the 3rd season…)

Maya: The Cowardly Lion

“Come on – get up and fight, you shivering junk yard! Put your hands up, you lop-sided bag of hay!” - The Cowardly Lion to the Tin Man and Scarecrow.

“Well, you didn’t have to go and hit me, did you? Is my nose bleeding?… I haven’t any courage at all. I even scare myself. Look at the circles under my eyes.” - The Cowardly Lion to Dorothy after she stands up to the Lion.

The Cowardly Lion lacks courage, is fearful, and believes that he is inadequate compared to those around him. That sounds quite similar to the Maya we saw in the first season as well as part of the second one, the one who was scared to hope for anything because “hope is for suckers” and because if you hope for something you’re only going to get hurt in the end. We saw Maya begin to grow, find her courage, and start to believe that she was shouldn’t compare herself to others as the second season progressed, but as the Triangle began to get more serious and when Riley (accidentally - because she truly does believe that she’s right even though we know she’s wrong) misdiagnoses the situation and pushes Maya back into her own dark box in order to try and bring back “balance to the universe,” Maya regresses, and due to this, we’ve begun to see a reappearance of season 1 Maya. Maya needs to find her courage again, embrace how she truly feels and begin to hope once more.

Lucas: The Scarecrow

In the Wizard of Oz, the thing the Scarecrow wishes for most is a brain. Brains allow people to make decisions, something that Lucas has needed to do for a while… He needs to become more than just a “face,” use his brain and figure out who he is.

Just as a bonus, the Scarecrow says, well sings, “Why, if I had a brain, I could - I could while away the hours, Conferrin’ with the flowers.” Who did the Scarecrow (or Lucas) compare to a flower? Maya…

Farkle = The Tin Man

What the Tin Man wants most is a heart. He wants this heart in order to be able to understand emotions. Just as the Tin Man wants to be able to understand emotions, so does Farkle and we’ve seen this desire appear in his conversation with Lucas, Maya, and Riley in the Bay Window in Girl Meets I am Farkle where he asks them to, “please promise me one thing. Please don’t ever let me not understand love,” as well as his conversation with Mr. Norton in Girl Meets Legacy, “Is it possible feelings are stronger than science?” Just as Maya needs to find her courage and face her fears and Lucas needs to figure out who he is and what he wants (use/receive a brain), Farkle needs to figure out what he feels and find love (receive a heart).

Bonus: Just as @theowldetective pointed out yesterday, the Tin Man could have been Romeo if he had a heart, but he hadn’t received one yet.

Finally, Riley = Dorothy

Dorothy goes on an amazing adventure during her time in Oz. She learns not only about herself, but also about the world around her. The entire story that is being told in Girl Meets World is of a young girl, Riley, discovering who she is and the world around her. Dorothy made friends along the way and they helped her to grow and she helped them to grow as well, just like Riley, Maya, Lucas, and Farkle are doing for each other.

Cory: Now some may call this a New York City subway pass. But you, Riley, can consider this a ticket to the world.

Riley: You think I’m ready?

Topanga: You showed us you are.

Cory: Riley, I’ve already met the world. It’s your turn.

~Girl Meets World

Now all we have to do is wait for the day when Dorothy (or rather Riley) realizes that the Wizard is indeed a fraud and we truly see just how much each of the characters have grown. (And the sooner we can get out of those poppies, the better.)

Endless List of Things I Love About Pentatonix: (1/∞) Kevin Olusola’s celloboxing

“It’s taking the cello, which a lot of people see as this very pristine instrument, and taking hip hop, which is kinda dirty and gritty and has that element of edge to it, and fusing them together to make something that’s, I hope, really inventive and really creative” - Kevin Olusola
