So there’s a lot of buzz surrounding Jieun, her personality, and her ultimate fate after chapter 18. In terms of her potential death, it’s a huge probability she won’t live, there’s really no reason for her to stay alive much longer. Now what’s always interested me is how much of chapter 15 and 16 were dedicated to her background and even her own thoughts and internal dialogue. I don’t think Jieun will just be another unfortunate victim of Sangwoo.
A good portion of this post is going to be dedicated to taking a better look at Jieun’s personality in relation to Sangwoo, I won’t go into her treatment of Bum because that’s been hashed out tons of times by now. So there’s Sangwoo’s infamous speech about how she’s shallow and only into appearances, and while it was very intense and elaborate, I have plenty of reason to believe that he was wrong and only spoke so much to make a half assed justification for killing her. Let’s look at some parts of his dialogue:
So Sangwoo is the type of person to use any excuse to kill anyone, it doesn’t matter what they do. The first girl he killed because he felt she challenged his ego, Sangwoo said he killed the old man because he stuck his dick in his face, and now Jieun is about to die because he says she doesn’t deserve anyone for cursing people who don’t look good. It doesn’t matter to Sangwoo whether or not he’s wrong but, he’s kind of wrong.
This is our introduction to Jieun, the first impression of her is that she seems to be bored with being told she’s hot, it’s a reasonable assumption that she’s frequently told that she’s beautiful. She’s the kind of person that didn’t put much effort into anything because she’s never had to try. Things are handed to her for being so pretty, and it’s actually gotten old for her at this point
But then here she is, putting effort into her appearance, getting out of her way and actually trying to look good for Sangwoo. He is clearly special to her just by this small action. Although initially she wasn’t interested in him.
Here is more insight into Jieun’s mind and how she used to perceive Sangwoo, she wasn’t interested in his appearance, but they began to hang out more and she was swept away by the persona he created. When they were singing their duet, there was a montage of moments between them that she was reflecting on. It’s very clear she’s developed feelings for him, not based solely off of his looks, but because of how he treated her as well. Jieun gets flustered when Sangwoo says she’s pretty, not because of the compliment of being told she’s pretty, but because it’s coming from him.
Now given that Jieun has had a decent amount of time dedicated to her personality, thoughts, and even some development, what does this mean for her purpose in the story? She’s been given more attention than Sangwoo’s other murder victims, it would be a waste if she was just killed and never heard from again.
My personal belief is that Jieun will become a martyr of sorts, she has the ability to be the catalyst for Sangwoo being caught. Jieun is within his social circle, and Sangwoo was the last person she was in contact with. It wouldn’t take too much work to connect the two together (maybe her going missing would even bring back Seungbae into the plot). And if she did become the key to Sangwoo’s downfall, then that would almost be as satisfying as when she punched Sangwoo in the eye.
An updated reference for chibi styles for whenever I open commissions again. Idk when exactly I’ll open commissions again, so if you wanted to commission me don’t your hold your breath waiting for the chance to.
Kravitz doesn’t forget that bit of honestly Taako told him on their first date.
I’m worried no one else will have me.
It doesn’t sit well with him the first time he hears it, and he likes it less the more he gets to know Taako. Kravitz doesn’t understand how Taako doesn’t see the way people are drawn to him, the way people always seem to want to spend more time with him - the way Kravitz always wants to spend more time with him.
So Kravitz reminds him - Taako, everyone loves you; Taako, I love you - and Taako smiles and he’s so beautiful that Kravitz wants to tell him again. Sometimes he does.
And just in case Taako forgets, or doesn’t believe him, Kravitz reminds him in more subtle ways. They’ll want you there. Taako, your sister called, she wants to talk to you. Magnus wants to see you, he says he has a surprise for you and I think it’s that he named a dog after you? Angus is definitely going to want you at his graduation, Taako, I know he’s said so. I know it’s late, I’m sorry if I woke you, I just wanted to hear your voice. We should invite Ren over, you know how much she loves your cooking and she’ll want to try your new recipe.
A/n: I’ve received a few different requests for an imagine about going to the beach with Shawn inspired by the recent pictures and videos.
It’s been a long and exhausting tour so far, but Shawn finally has a couple of much deserved days off. You haven’t been with him for most of the tour, but since he had a few days off in Florida, you took some time off work and joined him on tour last week to spend time with him and end it on the beach together in Florida. After a busy week with Shawn on tour, you’re excited for a few days to just relax, and you can tell he is too.
The second you arrive at the hotel room, you drop your bags and change into your swimsuit. Shawn knows you’ve been dying to go to the beach since it’s been a while since you’ve been in the ocean. Anytime you don’t go to the beach for a month or two it feels like an eternity since you grew up going practically every week. Shawn wastes no time changing into his swim shorts, not wanting to keep you waiting. You two head down to the beach outside the hotel and spot the rest of his team already lounging about.
You’re pretty much the only girl around most of the time when you visit Shawn on tour, but you don’t mind. You watch the boys play like little kids at the beach for the first time, all the while laughing at their antics, and genuinely enjoying the company. You help Matt bury Shawn and Charlie in the sand, filming them as they free themselves and run into the water.
You spend the afternoon swimming, playing spike ball, talking to fans, and playing in the sand. It’s been an amazing day so far, just being at the beach makes you feel at peace and re-energized. Seeing the happiness on Shawn’s face and the way he finally has time to relax is really all you need to feel completely content as well.
As the sun starts to set, Shawn’s crew begins getting ready to head up to their rooms, ready to be back inside after a nice long afternoon in the sun. You stand up, folding up your towel and pulling your dress back on, ready to follow the crowd back in. Shawn appears beside you. Resting his hand on your shoulder, he asks, “Wanna take a walk with me?”
A smile crosses your face as you intertwine your fingers with his. “Of course.”
You say goodbye to everyone, and begin walking down the beach hand in hand. There are hotels lining this particular beach, so there are a lot of other tourists lounging on the beach or playing in the water or sand. He squeezes your hand as you begin to walk, letting the waves lap at your feet.
You walk in silence for a few minutes, just enjoying each other’s company, knowing that there’s no need to fill the silence because just the other person’s presence is more than enough. You both make comments when something comes to mind, and you have small conversations along the way. You walk further than either of you intended to, but you were just enjoying being with each other, having time alone, and taking in the beautiful view.
The two of you walk and talk until you’re far past the row of hotels. The beach is mostly empty here because most people don’t want to walk this far, but neither of you minded or even noticed really. The sun setting has turned the sky a beautiful pink color. You sit down side by side on the sand, enjoying the sounds of the crashing waves. He wraps his arm around you, and you lean into him instinctively. You’re both staring at the sunset, waiting for the sun to disappear and the colors to fade from the sky leaving only darkness behind. But the truth is, you don’t want it to. If you could, you’d live in this moment forever.
