i've saved that for part 2

Percy/Annabeth Swap
  • Ok so I was thinking about what it would be like if Percy was the one who went to Camp when he was seven
  • So imagine an AU where Annabeth’s stepmom was actually nice and Annabeth never ran away
  • In this AU, Percy’s the one who ran away when he was young
  • Sally died when Percy was only six (I know, I’m so so sorry), and Gabe wasn’t exactly willing to look after him
  • Gabe knows someone who runs a care home in Virginia, so he takes him there
  • But Percy isn’t willing to go to it because anyone who is a friend of Gabe is not someone he wants looking after him
  • So he runs away in Virginia, and decides to look for his real dad
  • It’s only been a few days when he meets his first monster, a hellhound
  • Percy’s next to a river when he sees it, and desperately he jumps into it
  • Despite the current, he manages to swim to the other side pretty easily, but his clothes are wet (at this point he doesn’t know he’s a demigod, so he hasn’t learnt how to use his powers properly)
  • Shivering, he ends up in an empty alley, when another monster shows up
  • This time, it’s a sphinx, and Percy would’ve been killed for sure if a blond boy hadn’t come out of nowhere and stabbed it with his sword
  • At first Percy’s scared by this boy and the dark haired girl with him, but they soon convince him it’s alright, they’re like him, there’s no reason to be scared
  • They tell him they’re called Luke and Thalia, and they explain that he’s a demigod
  • “What’s your name, kid?” Thalia asks
  • “My name’s Percy,” he responds, “Percy Jackson.”
  • From then on, Percy’s life becomes a bit easier
  • Sure, they’re still on the run, and they still have to face monsters, but Percy has friends now
  • He admires Luke completely, and pretty soon he’s his role model. Percy will do anything to try and impress Luke.
  • Thalia’s like the big sister Percy never had, and always knows what to say to cheer him up. In the aftermath of Percy’s mom’s death, she’s a massive help
  • Of course, Thalia adapts to the big sister role pretty quickly. It’s almost like she’s had practise
  • Percy starts to get better at facing monsters
  • He starts training with the dagger Luke gave him, determined to do well
  • After a while, Grover finds them, and leads them to camp
  • Like in canon, Thalia is turned into a tree as she sacrifices herself
  • That hits Percy hard
  • Luke’s changed too
  • Luke still looks out for Percy, and helps him through that stage, but he’s more emotionally detached
  • In the beginning, Percy stays in the Hermes cabin, because he’s unclaimed
  • Every night, when he offers food, he prays his parent will claim him
  • Chiron takes sympathy on Percy, having developed a liking for the boy
  • Finally, two years later, Percy’s wish is granted in a game of Capture the Flag
  • When Percy moves into the Poseidon cabin, he’s lonely at first
  • He misses his friends from the Hermes’ cabin, like Travis and Connor, but he remains friends with them
  • He soon gets used to it, but he misses being in the same cabin as Luke
  • Luke’s training harder and harder these days, and it’s almost like he’s shutting Percy out
  • Later, Luke goes on his quest, and when he comes back with the scar, Percy can see he’s more angry, but when anyone brings it up with Percy, he denies it vehemently
  • By the time Percy’s 11, he’s well settled in camp, it’s his home
  • He has friends (Grover’s his best friend), and he’s become really good with a dagger, since he trains with Luke’s dagger all the time
  • He knows there’s a prophecy, and it’s got something to do with when he turns sixteen, but he doesn’t know exactly what it says. He does know that Chiron won’t let him go on a quest because of it
  • One day, Chiron says there’s a gifted demigod at the school he’s been teaching in
  • Grover brings her to Camp, but not easily: they suffer from a minotaur attack on the way, and apparently the girl’s father was taken to the underworld
  • The girl’s knocked out, and Percy volunteers to look after her, and the first thing he notices is her blonde princess curls

Soulmate AU where you can only see in black and white until you touch your soulmate.

Part 1 – Part 2 – Part 3 – Part 4 – Part 5 – Part 6

It was like any other run as the Flash–run, catch the bad guys, save the day–that is until Barry caught up to Leonard Snart. As soon as he grabbed the man, he felt it, even through the glove of the suit. A jolt of energy starting at his finger tips, trailing up his arm, and going straight to his brain, his heart, everywhere. Then, the world exploded in color. There were more shades than Barry could have imagined, and he couldn’t even guess their names. It was enough to make his stumble, lose his footing, forget where he was for a moment. His soulmate. He’d met his soulmate. His soulmate was…

…a criminal.

…a thief.

His soulmate was…leaving.

He’d been distracted too long. Long enough for the criminals to get on their bikes and ride off. Long enough for them to get away.

Remember forever ago when @gettzi posted that great art of Nursey and his ballerina sister and I said I also headcanoned him with a ballerina sister because I had a whole thing about him and the concept of sprezzatura, which I learned in ballet class and therefore so did he? I finally wrote it.

There was a period of about two years, back when Derek was just starting middle school, when he spent two afternoons a week, every week, doing his homework in the corner of his sister’s ballet studio. At first it was because their nanny didn’t have time to drop him off before Naimah had to be at her class, and once they were at the studio, it made far more sense to just stay until her class was over and then head back home together. Derek didn’t mind, did he? He totally minded. It was lame and stupid and… actually kind of beautiful…

Maybe he didn’t mind. Maybe, even after the drop off scheduling conflict cleared up, he still found a reason it would be more convenient for him to go.

He soaked up a a lot of random stuff in those two years. A bunch of ballet French. An instinctive need to count things in eights. An affinity for waltz timing that would serve him well in later ballroom dance situations. An automatic need to correct his posture anytime he thought about a puppet string extending through his core and out the top of his head. And the concept of sprezzatura.

One thing he loved about sitting in the corner was that it was kind of like getting to look behind the curtain. Or at the inner workings of a clock. Ballet took work. And then it all came together.

“Girls,” called the teacher, clapping her hands twice for attention. “Girls, ballet is about grace. We are about to go into the annual performance. We are to give to the audience sprezzatura. I want the appearance of effortless beauty. You are there to present art. The choreography, the music, it should flow through you. The audience is not interested in how many times you had to practice that phrase across the floor. They are only interested in the final result. Your goal is to make it look both flawless and easy.”

He looked it up later and discovered it wasn’t really a ballet term at all. The dictionary just defined it as “studied carelessness,” but Wikipedia gave more background:

Sprezzatura [sprettsaˈtuːra] is an Italian word originating from Baldassare Castiglione’s The Book of the Courtier, where it is defined by the author as “a certain nonchalance, so as to conceal all art and make whatever one does or says appear to be without effort and almost without any thought about it”.[1] It is the ability of the courtier to display “an easy facility in accomplishing difficult actions which hides the conscious effort that went into them”.[2]

(Of course, it might have been helpful if he’d also noticed and remembered the following line as well:

Sprezzatura has also been described “as a form of defensive irony: the ability to disguise what one really desires, feels, thinks, and means or intends behind a mask of apparent reticence and nonchalance”.[3]

But that was an issue for the future.)

Whenever I listen to Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven and get to around 10 minutes into Storm I immediately think of whales because junior year I worked in a whaling museum and there was a save the whales exhibit and some documentary (a trailer I think) played nonstop and for some fucking reason they used that part in Storm. So like I go from this really emotional experience to just WHALES and the feeling last the rest of the track

I've been a mercy main since I got the game in October because no one would be a healer. I've heard I'm great support, I'm bad, ect, etc. Listen, once you get he hang of the character, you're good! if your team is failing, it's them. Support can't carry the team (except maybe symmetra mains) so if y'all keep failing it's on them. I was with a team once who couldn't group to save their lives and they blamed me and tried to fucking tell me how to play mercy, and also a few teams who told (part 1)

(Part 2) me I was amazing support! Because I am. I’m great support characters. The things that make or break it is team comp and also if your team sticks together as one unit. The occasional martyr who runs ahead is fine. If the team doesn’t stick together everything falls apart. It’s not you, it’s 100% them

SO LUCKY CAT? is basically just a normal cat with crazy power, but because no thought was put into the fusion that accidentally saved his life, he’s still pretty much just like….a regular pet

so chuck and the swaingels do have a house pet, but it’s just lucky sleeping all day

Contrary to fanfic, it’s actually somewhat rare in the Twilight series for a vampire to be the creator of his/her mate. There are only six such couples specified: Amun & Kebi, Aro & Sulpicia, Benjamin & Tia, Carlisle & Esme, Makenna & Charles, and Edward & Bella.

Rosalie & Emmett get an honorable mention though, since she was the one who saved him and picked him out, even if she didn’t do the actual transformation herself.

Something I've been thinking about is how did Keith survive in the desert by himself for a year?? How does he get food, water, and utilities? Does he have a job? Savings? How did he even get his shack? I really hope season 2 gives more info about his backstory! Although idk maybe I'm just thinking too much about the details XP

Hmmm. Honestly, part of it may have come from Garrison training and being on his own for so long. I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if the Garrison taught their pilots how to survive in some very harsh environments, including deep space, the desert, a frozen tundra and any other places a pilot might go when exploring other worlds. And while Keith didn’t stay very long in the Garrison, I’m pretty sure he picked up on that stuff super, super easy. He seems like he would be a natural at it. It may be how Shiro survived so long as well.

I personally think he just found the shack on the edge of the desert, abandoned and left vulnerable to the elements. The local kids claim it’s haunted because someone died there forever and a half ago, but Keith doesn’t care. It works just fine for him. He’s got some stolen Garrison rations to tide him over until he can barter for food nearby or get food from out in the desert. My guess is the house doesn’t have water so he has to go and get it himself from a well or a river nearby. Blue Lion is the Spirit of Water so I wouldn’t be surprised if her presence generates water in an area that’s not supposed to have it. That is probably how he first came across the lion designs in the caves. And he probably doesn’t have a want or need for electricity the same way we do; what’s he going to do on the Internet? He’s not going to call anyone or want to be in contact with anyone either.

Ah, the beauty of hiatus, nonny. I have a feeling everything is going to get analyzed and examined as we wait for the second season and more information. Hopefully we get more than 11 episodes next time around! *waggles eyebrows in the direction of the crew*

Hi I was diagnosed with PTSD and major Depression Disorder. I've been in therapy for my flashbacks and severe anxiety induced panic attacks. My saving grace is my totems. Whenever I get scared or lost i grab my totem in my pocket and get back. Part1

So what I was hoping was to see if you could turn something you have into a totem and carry it around with you everywhere. It really helps bring you back from all the dark thoughts. Just pick something personal and small with a good memory. Part 2 For me right now I’m using my favorite yugioh card that took me 5 years to collect. Whenever i feel too upset or overwhelmed by crowds i grab the card and look at all the details. Get lost in the totem and then reach a point of peace. Part 3 My point is that i hope if you haven’t had one already that it would help you as it has helped me since last year. Just remember the key is the constant presence of the totem. Like a part of your soul is inside it waiting for you to need it. Part 4

Thank you so much for this message, this is really helpful and really good advice. I’ll definitely start thinking about what object would make a good totem for me and give it a try. Thank you for sharing this idea with me ❤️ I hope you’re doing alright

Charles and erik are having their usual drinks over chess...but one turns into seven and suddenly they are both HAMMERED. cue tripping over things, erik getting cuddly, horrified kids (up to you!), and drunken shenanigans ;)

There is something wrong with Erik.

“Sean,” Erik says, his expression grave and serious. He claps two large palms on Sean’s shoulders and Sean suppresses a wince.  “Have I ever told you how much I love you?”

Sean stares at him, waiting for the other shoe to drop. This has to be some kind of training exercise, right? At any moment Erik is going to elbow him in the jugular and tell him that only the strong survive.

“….no?” Sean says carefully, tensing his body in preparation for the inevitable roundhouse kick.

“So much,” Erik slurs, hauling Sean in and clasping his head to his chest, stroking a heavy, clumsy hand through his hair. “My precious baby bird, ready to fly.”

In the corner of the living room Charles is dancing in a way that seems more rooted in arm waving than anything else, proclaiming every song on the ancient gramophone to be his absolute favourite. Alex and Hank are sitting on the couch watching him with barely concealed horror on their faces.

“Erik come dance with me!” Charles exclaims, swaying from side to side, “this song is my favourite!”

Erik releases Sean and makes his way over to Charles, where they engage  less in dancing and more in sloppily sticking tongues in each other’s mouths.

Sean sits down next to Hank.

“Um…what is happening right now?”

“Charles is tanked,” Raven says, turning a page in her book, her legs draped over the arm of the heavy wingback chair by the fire in a way that makes all the boys sit up and pay attention. “They’re both tanked, though I didn’t think it was possible to get Erik drunk.”

The needle on the gramophone clicks over to crackling static as the record ends. Charles pushes away from Erik mouth and says,

“Oh! This is my favourite song!” waving his arms above his head. Erik smiles at him fondly.

“You’re such a good dancer Charles.”

“I know.”

Erik stumbles away from him to give him room and collapses onto the couch, wedging himself between Alex and Hank and slinging his arms around their shoulders.

“You guys are so great. You guys know how much I love you, right?”

“Um,” Alex says.

“What?” Hank says.

“You’re a beautiful, special boy Hank.” Erik pats him firmly on the cheek and dislodges his glasses. “Don’t ever let anyone step on your rainbow.”

“Oh Erik.” When they look up, Charles has stopped dancing. His hands are clasped together and his eyes are shining with unshed tears. “That was very beautiful my friend.”

“Charles,” Erik gasps, his own eyes brimming. He attempts to stand twice before Alex hauls him to his feet, and then he crashes into Charles the two of them weeping and kissing each other messily.

Charles hands go for Erik’s belt and with surprising ease he gets the buckle undone in record time.

“Um,” Alex says.

“Wait,” Hank says.

“Should we go?” Sean asks Raven who looks up from her book and says,

“Atta boy Charles.”

By this time Charles has nearly gotten Erik out of his pants and the boys decide, yes, it’s probably time to go.

When it becomes clear that they are indeed going to have sex in the family room, Raven sighs and bookmarks her novel, swinging her legs off the chair.

“I was at the best part, Charles, Jesus.”

Charles says,

“Yes, this is definitely the best part,” and she flees before her mind is irreparably damaged.
