i've been waiting to make this post for a very long time

I kno everyone speaks Japanese in the show bc it's a Japanese show, but I've looked through the wiki and I don't think Viktor actually knows Japanese??? It's not listed among his known languages in the trivia section (Russian, English, and French). I couldn't find what languages Yuuri speaks but it's likely he knows English from living in the states, so maybe they communicate through English??? I bet Viktor learns Japanese over time, but I don't think he already knows it at the beginning.

Hey there!!! So, I scoured the net to find both canon and fanon sources. In this interview it’s confirmed that Yuuri and Viktor use English as base language of communication, and they’re both fluent. As you said, though, it’s also confirmed that Viktor’s fluent in Russian, English and French. Nothing is said about Japanese. In that regard, this post is super interesting. I’ll quote some of the tl;dr points here for practical reasons:

  • When Victor speaks Japanese he sounds like a foreigner
  • Victor maybe has rudimentary Japanese skills, but not enough for him to understand or participate in complex discussions. (Example: ep 4, when he has to ask Yuri what everyone is talking about.)
  • Every person Victor has had an in-depth conversation with so far has good English skills.

So, from auditory cues we can tell that Viktor does actually know a little bit of  Japanese, but his conversational skills are stilted at best. He uses English to communicate with Yuuri, Minako, the Nishigoris and other international skaters. I guess he does too with Mari? The funny thing about this is that, while in Hasetsu, people like Yuuri’s parents will most likely speak dialectal Japanese, which is harder to grasp and understand than regular Japanese, much less to learn.

Let’s keep in mind that Viktor already knows cyrillic and the roman alphabet, and has probably been studying English and French since he was 8/9 years old (even younger, if he was home schooled). Nonetheless, the fact that he’s fluent in both is still no small feat. If anything, I’d say he has a knack, or we can call it a talent, at grasping the basics and going with it. So a wild guess, before going to Japan he took like some online courses real quick to learn a general knowledge of it, for example how to ask for the bathroom and directions and food, drilled some useful vocabulary into his head and flew out because he just couldn’t make Katsuki Yuuri wait, now, could he? Once he got there, his skills gradually improved with time and practice. Actually, I really like thinking that he started learning Japanese directly after the banquet because he fell so hard he wanted to shorten the cultural distance between them immediately. (I read a marvelous fic about the whole language topic, I absolutely recommend it, it’s Repeat After Me by queenieofaces)

And now, my hcs on the thing because of course.

Shawn’s POV

“Y/n!” I shout, but she’s not responding. Her eyes are closed and she’s crumpled against the side of the car. She’s so still, too still. This can’t be happening. This can’t be fucking happening. “Y/n! Baby, wake up, talk to me.” I’m fighting to get to her, but my damn seatbelt is jammed, and the more I fight it the more my shoulder aches. I need to get to y/n, there’s glass, she’s bleeding. She’s hurt. I need to get to her.

I’m screaming for help, for someone to help y/n, because I’m stuck, and I can’t help her, and I need to know that she’s okay. Someone comes into view, squatting down to get a look into the overturned car, “Are you okay in there?” He shouts.

“I think you’re my soulmate, Jimin…?”

“I don’t have a soulmate.” He can’t, not when he has a job this dangerous. Not when the agency hired him for no more than the simple fact that he did not have a soulmate.

The boy holds up a very familiar looking phone in his hands, putting his thumb on the fingerprint sensor.

“Then why was I able to unlock your phone?”

In a world where soulmates have the same fingerprints, there’s not much holding them together other than the fine ripples on the tips of each finger.

Or: Jungkook finds himself a soulmate he doesn’t want, and Jimin finds himself a soulmate he can’t have.

I have a question for you. My sister saw Dr. Strange on and she liked it. I've not seen it because I have been swamped with work--but it is available on Netflix My question is: Should I watch it?

Hey :-) and thank you for the q.

Ok let me give you some (hopefully) compelling reasons why you should very much watch this film. I will try to avoid spoilers as much as I can but am assuming you already know the story etc.

*waits while you make a cup of tea*. Ok. Ready? Let’s go…. (sorry people this is one of my interminably LONG posts…)

 1.   Doctor Strange in the comics is kick-ass. He has powers that make most of the Avengers look like the Home Guard. In canon he’s so powerful he often sits alone looking through the Window of the Worlds across the dimensions, ready to step in when things so seriously wrong. (for example in the comics he sat out the Civil War saga because he knew he was too powerful to get involved; whichever side he chose would have won). He can manipulate time, harness and wield cosmic energy, create portals across dimensions and with his searing intellect has an encyclopaedic and insatiable knowledge of magic.

 2.   The MCU’s Doctor Strange is an origin story, and yes we’ve seen that before. But in a way it’s one of the seminalhero goes on a quest’ stories. Batman Begins was (probably) modelled on Dr Strange (and not the other way around) as the scriptwriter David Goyer wrote a very early DS script which was morphed into the Christian Bale film… but I digress. Stephen Strange has, in my and many others’ views, the greatest origins arc of all. His journey – physically, cosmically and emotionally, is epic. And you can’t do that without a brilliant actor, right?

 3.   Right. Benedict – whom Marvel wanted from the get-go and for whom delayed a blockbuster for a year. a year. to wait for him; and once you get used to his NYC drawl does this amazing job of being both an utter dick and also portraying the loneliness (and fear) driving his early success. He also nails the transition and the fall, and is also; thanks to BC’s emotional flexibility and openness, utterly compelling as a once great man reduced to humility and being the novice. The physical work he does in the film is impressive. And he’s not alone in being great;

 4.   The rest of the cast – some of whom getting more opportunity than others – is astonishing. For me, alongside BC, the three who excel are Chiwetel, Rachael and Tilda. Benedict Wong is wonderful and is by far the funniest. Sadly Mads gets very little to work with but he’s compelling. Whilst the casting of The Ancient One could have been handled better imv; Tilda is this amazing mix of wisdom, innocence, cynicism and childish delight. And there’s one scene with her and Benedict which I think is the most poignant in the entire MCU pantheon. It rips my heart out every time and makes me grieve for loved ones lost.

 5.   Marvel Studios know how to match the right director with the material. And choosing Scott Derrickson was genius imv. It said Marvel doesn’t want Harry Potter wand-waving magic, it wants something darker. And I was so relieved. Derrickson was a noted but still emerging horror auteur whose films; The Day The Earth Stood Still. Sinister and The Exorcism of Emily Rose; all explored the conflicts of spirituality, the human condition, the ego, and things beyond the understanding of the logical and empirical human brain. Perfection. (plus he’d been an avid fan of Dr Strange for many many years and spent an “extreme” amount of his money in the pitch to Marvel).

 6.   The special effects weren’t just groundbreaking for Marvel, they were groundbreaking for cinema. DS was nominated for an Oscar for its sheer innovation (which also paid homage to the Ditko / Lee acid-tripping, beatnik influenced and Twilight Zone era of the DS comics). There are three great passages in the film where the special effects take you in an almost synesthetic, drug-induced voyage into this new cosmic world. And the use of mandelbrotting is groundbreaking. And how it’s used to bring the Cloak of Levitation to life is iconic. To the point the Cloak now has its own trailer on the set of Infinity War.

 7.   The reaction to this obscure character, introduced without the help of Tony Stark or other MCU crossovers; I think blew everyone away. Metacritic rates it as the 5th best MCU film, Rotten Tomatoes gives it 90%, and it made $677M globally which made it – and him – a success and a front player.  He plays a significant role in Infinity War (Benedict was on set a lot longer than any of us expected!) and he’s rumoured to be heading back for Avengers 4 in between filming Melrose. I still think there will be a sequel of sorts; I wonder if this mystery MCU buddy to Tom Holland in the Spider-Man sequel might be Stephen Strange….

 8.   And lastly – are you still awake? I’m sorry. I’ll end with this final reason why you should watch Doctor Strange. Because…. It’s pretty profound. Its themes of loss and grief, ego and humility, power and failure are beautifully done. They allow Benedict to do what he does best; to create a character who’s both intimidating and deeply fragile, And the climax scene between the hero and villain to me seems more like a Ingmar Bergman moment (on acid) than a Marvel movie and it’s iconic.

So in short? Yes I think you should watch it. :-)

Shawn, of course, likes to go to the gym every single morning without fail no matter where he is. Since you’ve been tagging along while he travels for work this past week, you thought you’d wake up early every morning to work out with him. Today is your fourth morning in a row of waking up at 6am to head over to whatever gym is closely accessible. Shawn has his whole complicated workout, but you stick to what you know, which is usually a couple of miles on the treadmill and then some ab and core workouts.

After your workout this morning, you find that you’re not feeling as great as you would have liked and as great as you normally do following a good workout. While walking down the hotel hallway, you start to see white spots in your vision, almost like someone had just flashed a camera in your face, although no one did. You try to ignore it as you walk down to the lobby with Shawn to get some breakfast. While eating, you begin to feel progressively worse and worse as time passes. You find yourself having a difficult time even thinking of the words you want to say or how to describe the things you’re trying to talk to Shawn about. You don’t want to tell him how badly you’re feeling, so you just hope he thinks you are simply tired from waking up so early and working out.

I've got another prompt for you, if you'd like! So, Tony and Steve are in a relationship pre-Winter soldier, but keep it secret and the Avengers think they're pining. Que Bucky showing up and flirting with them, them getting to know each other (again, for Steve) and them getting together, again keeping it secret. But the team thinks he's trying to steal one or the other and do everything they can to keep him away while trying to matchmake Tony and Steve. All three of them find it hilarius.

You can find this work on my Ao3 here.

So I’m going to write this from Natasha’s point of view because she’s the embodiment of that “I just *clenches fist* really love my friends” post and she just wants these idiots to be happy. Look out for under the cut!

Natasha sighed and leaned her cheek on her hand as she watched Tony and Steve flirt. Tony was as suave as ever, and Steve—blushed and broke a plate in half. She rolled her eyes and sighed again as the blond fled the kitchen in embarrassment. Tony, looking guilty, scuttled after him.

She got up and grabbed the toast he had left behind. “What if I just locked them in a closet together?” She sat down to spread almond butter on the first piece, honey on the second, then made a sandwich of the two pieces.

“Steve would probably combust,” Bruce replied, not looking up from his crossword puzzle. “Or Tony would, from frustration.”

“Why are my friends so stupid?!” Natasha burst out, spraying crumbs across the table.

14. “How can I hate someone that I’m in love with?” Andreil. I am ready for angst (such Christmas spirit, wow)

14. “How can I hate someone that I’m in love with?” (Hi there I combined this with another request, so this is the sequel to my 99 prompt with Neil getting hurt !!)

“All they had in the tooth-rotting section at the corner store was coffee crisp and triple fudge so I got both,” Neil announces, shouldering their door open with his hands full of ice-cream tubs and an array of keys.

He’s taken to wearing them on a lanyard like a school teacher, and Andrew knows he does it because he wants them at hand, near his heart. Renee bought him a fox charm and it hangs between the key to the court and the first one Andrew ever gave him — he’s memorized the shape of it without trying to.

Kevin glances at Neil over the screen of his laptop and stands immediately, walking wordlessly to his room. He retreats to his bedroom whenever Andrew and Neil are in a room together, lately. ‘A precautionary measure’ he’d sneered when Nicky had asked.

“Is that okay?” Neil says, suddenly standing above Andrew, head cocked.

“It’s acceptable,” Andrew replies, and opens his hand. Neil presses the triple fudge into his palm, and produces a plastic spoon from the shopping bag to balance on top.

“I figured you wouldn’t want to wait,” he explains, mouth quirked.

Andrew ignores him, hooking his finger in the plastic seal and breaking it apart. Neil collapses into the couch next to him, tossing his feet up over Andrew’s lap and dropping the bag on the carpet. Andrew looks at him. “It’ll melt.”

“Eat fast,” Neil says, and grabs Andrew’s first spoonful for himself.

“I should’ve let the FBI take you.”

“You should’ve,” Neil says seriously, “Now I’m your problem full-time.” He leans in enough that Andrew can see the chocolate in the corner of his mouth, the complicated relationship between his freckles and his burns —

He’s yanked back to the present by Nicky’s frantic voice, a high discordant thing like a wrong note in a bad piece of music. The rest of the foxes crest over the slant of the hallway, a wave of good intentions that pushes Andrew back into the wall and takes his breath. He can’t deal with them, he can’t escape to somewhere else when prying voices are trying to keep him here. He can’t be fighting to see Neil with foxes holding his hands behind his back.

“What’s the news,” Allison asks when they’re close enough, looking uncharacteristically haggard with her lipstick wearing away and her shirt untucked.

Andrew shakes his head.

“He’s not…” Dan starts to ask, horrified, and Andrew’s fists clench so hard his knuckles crack.

“No,” Matt says firmly. “The monster would be ripping this place apart.”

Andrew produces a knife instantly, and renee catches his wrist, eyes hard and terrible above her smile. “You’re going to get yourself kicked out of the hospital.”

He hates it, he hates it, because it’s the only thing that could’ve made him stop.

He drops the knife on the floor and Renee quietly stoops to pick it up and pocket it.

“He’s going to be okay, Andrew,” Nicky says earnestly, skirting carefully around Renee to stand in front of him.

“He’s survived worse,” Kevin agrees, an old haunted look on his face.

“Don’t,” Andrew says. It’s all he can manage.

There’s a knife in his chest and Neil has the handle; if he dies now the blade never comes out. If he dies it won’t matter how much armour Andrew puts on, the knife is already in, always.

A shining light fading

Shiny Chariot, Akko’s guiding light and the ideal she always strived for.

Akko always assumed that it was during her shows when Shiny Chariot shone as brightest, where her dreams were fully realized. But that was not the case, Chariot had already begun to fade.

Chariot Du Nord had a sunny and bright disposition ever since she was a child, and had an idealistic, heartfelt dream to go along with it:

Bringing happiness to everyone.

Of course, this was not an easy task she had set herself up to do. When she was finally able to begin studying to become a witch, she realized that her dream would be much harder than she had anticipated.

Not only that, but others had a hard time to take her seriously, and Chariot was presumably mocked by both her professors and her fellow students for her naive, if not outright impossible dream.

Chariot’s ever-so-bright light would have probably begun to fade here if it wasn’t for another person. Someone who would become very important for Chariot:

dream-and-slash  asked:

Hi dear. So I've been reading a lot about performing!dean meta and I just noticed something while rewatching season 7. On episode 4, he asked a bartender out. Then while waiting for her, he was giving himself a pep talk. Like "You are Dean Winchester. This is what you do." And it just resonated to the whole thing and I just wanted to share or talk to you about it.

Yeah absolutely (7x04 and 7x05 go together re: Dean hand in hand so I’ll talk about them together here). This is Dean’s standard coping mechanism for his pain since the pilot, e.g. Hell. Then since season 6/7′s loss of Cas it starts revolving around him, whenever he dies or is gone, when Dean is in mourning or pining, he sleeps with a woman. Here he’s just lost Cas basically 1 episode before, it’s right at the end of 7x02 and this is the beginning of 7x04. He’s only just folded Cas’s trenchcoat into the back of the car at this point…

After thinking he lost him at first, then getting him back then really losing him…

God does this remind us of anything?

source: @super-sootica

Season 6 v season 12 parallels is a long post I’m working on in hellatus as there is so much material…

Now Dean is in a different place though, especially after 12x18 I’m pretty sure it should be this time, mayyyybe its the next, but I’m pretty sure now there should be some kind of reversal of this where he is so wrecked by grief that he can’t even contemplate using this coping mechanism and a waitress will hit on him and he will flat out reject her, making Sam realise just how bad it is…

Season 7 is such a Destiel heavy season, I can totally understand where people get the theory (I don’t know if its confirmed) that seasons 6-8 were written as a follow on for 1-5 and 8 could have been the final season as it is so much like seasons 11-12 now for the ramping up of Destiel and the individual arcs for endgame… but in the end 8 wasn’t the last season so it backed back down again, which makes total sense to me as they didn’t get them to the right place, but they did set up a lot for endgame, the MoL bunker, Dean facing a lot of himself and Sam facing his guilt and the trials etc, it makes a lot of sense to me so it’s normal that we have so many season 6/7 parallels through season 12/13 as we are NOW heading towards endgame…

So we have in season 6 all the season 12 parallels which I won’t go into but let’s just take Cas’s arc, which is basically the same, except working with the Angels instead of Crowley, to protect the boys and keep them out of it, while Dean just wants him to stay with him. Then season 7 gives us a double death moment (hi 12x23), followed by basically a first half of the season of grieving alcoholic, coping mechanisms Dean and MotW episodes subtextually all about Dean’s frame of mind around Cas, black goo, Sam’s wall being broken (this is much later though, the early stuff is ALL about Cas, this cannot be overlooked).

I mean, one of my favourite moments of the whole show is in 7x04, which is all about Dean and Sam’s dynamic and Dean being in a bad way because of Cas.

The counselling moment… is just basically Dean projecting his feelings of betrayal by Cas into the married couple who end up reconciling and making out because he forces them to communicate…

*Tink looks into the camera*.

Meanwhile, afterwards Sam doesn’t know about Amy (he literally says “we’re good right!”) so what possibly could be eating at Dean? what could he POSSIBLY be trying to get Dean to unload about? WE JUST DON’T KNOW as Mittens would say ;)

So yeah, I’m interested to see how they take these parallels now, given that NOW Dean DOESN’T have the world on his shoulders like he did in this scene, after 12x22…

7x05 transcript:

SAM: You notice how they, uh, you know, how they – how they opened up, got everything off their chest?
DEAN:Yeah. Kudos on selling them that crap.
SAM:It wasn’t crap, Dean. It worked.
DEAN: Sam, I am so very, very, very, very…very, very tired –
SAM: Dean, like it or not, the stuff you don’t talk about doesn’t just go away. It builds up, like whatever’s eating at you right now.
DEAN: There’s always something eating at me. That’s who I am. Something happens, I feel responsible, all right? The Lindbergh baby – that’s on me. Unemployment – my bad.
SAM: That’s not what I’m talking about.
DEAN: Well, then what the hell are you talking about?
SAM: I’m talking about whatever you’re not telling me about. Look, Dean, it’s fine. You can unload. That’s kind of what I’m here for.  I mean… we’re good, right?
DEAN: We’re good.
DEAN gets into the car. SAM stands for a moment looking somewhat hurt and frustrated.

So now, after 12x22 and Dean coming to his personal arc’s climax of letting go of a lot of this pent up self loathing, feeling of guilt and unfairness etc, this should either just not happen and Dean actively talks to Sam or Sam will be able to get Dean to unload quite easily…

Especially as I believe Dabb is purposefully paralleling earlier moments to current much more blatantly romantic ones / Dean letting his facade down in order to retcon / show by proxy how romantic / performing!Dean they WERE in the past for the GA.

Heart eyes at Andrew Dabb again, OK and I have to say, Bucklemming wrote 7x05 and it is so good, they KNOW how to do good Destiel, even if I hate their causal misogny and love of rape, they have written some of the most blatant Destiel over the years. Hmm, almost like it’s an important theme to the show… And now Dabb is using these past moments to move the whole story forwards… OK it’s going to be a Dabb appreciation day. Sue me :p

When totality happens, his eye lights become little stars and he’s completely silent. He would respond a little before to a few things, now it’s the quietest you’ve ever seen him. This is a very, very happy skele. When the eclipse is over he’ll pull you into a tight hug with a quiet “Thank you”.

UT! Papyrus

WOWIE, the moon blocks out the sun?!  Do not worry, Date-Mate, the great Papyrus will protect you from the darkness! Once you tell him it’s all natural and happens occasionally so no protection needed, he’s excited. You make sure he’s wearing his glasses despite his protests (“SKELETONS DON’T HAVE EYES”) and it’s begun. He’s cut off mid-sentence while he watches in happiness. You and Sans best be prepared for many, many questions later, but for now, Papyrus is happy watching the event unfold before him while holding your hand tightly.

UF! Sans

What the hell are you doing? You’re practically yankin’ his arm off, and now you’re shoving these stupid lookin’ glasses on his face? What the fuck is goin- Oh. You had done a pretty good job of keeping him away from any news of the eclipse, and his reaction is so worth it. The sky darkens and at first he’s sweating buckets, thinking something is gonna come dust him, but as soon as he looks up and sees totality happen, he’s awestruck. His whole posture completely changes and he relaxes a little for once. He’d never seen such an event before in any reset, and to spend it with you? Wow. Afterwards he goes back to his usual asshole self, but there’s definitely a smooch for you later behind closed doors.

UF! Papyrus

He’s not happy at all at being brought outside by you, and with so much enthusiasm too. He’s clearly too busy to stand outside watching something as asinine as this! You have to put your foot down a little – always a risky move – but eventually he relents and stands outside with you, complaining the whole time until it starts. It’s hard to read his face when it starts, especially because he’s tapping his foot as he’s watching. His frown seems to disappear momentarily when the moon fully eclipses the sun, surprised at the display. When you’re both alone afterwards he’ll briefly admit that the event was enjoyable, even exciting- no stop smiling he’s not admitting defeat!

US! Sans

DATE-MATE, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, IT’S GOING TO START ANY MINUTE! This little energy-filled bean had been bouncing around non-stop since you asked him if he wanted to watch the eclipse with you, it was like he had drunk coffee again (Papyrus said he’d drank some once… Only once.) For such a small skeleton, he’s strong as he drags you up to the top of the hill you’d agreed on the day before with such speed you had to pause and catch your breath. Once you were both ready with your glasses and sat comfortably you both looked up at the sky eagerly. As soon as the moon starts to move in front of the sun, Sans grabs your arm and his bones rattle. You begin to worry about the excitement possibly making him explode. Help him. His jaw drops when the eclipse hits its full scale and you’re sure you’re going to be shaken to death. Thankfully he tells you everything in detail after it finished, since you weren’t really able to watch.

US! Papyrus

He’s more than happy to join you outside when you ask him, casually resting his arm around your shoulders as you join the other crowds waiting for the eclipse to start. He enjoys the quietness that falls as the first shadows start to cover the sun. It’s like the whole world stands still it’s so peaceful. He’ll probably make a terrible pun or two, but when totality happens he just smiles and watches quietly with you. When it’s all finished, he’ll invite you for a nap with him, talking about the event and how lucky a guy he is to see it with you.

Tell me a lame joke/bad pickup line, please! ([whispers] Or make a character tell them to another)

Holy mother of god, SHE’S ALIVE! After months in the wilderness (my room) without a shred of fic writing motivation I return with a ridiculous offering. Sorry for the long wait.

A few things you should all know about this fic: 1. It’s really, really stupid. 2. It’s set some vague time post-series, but the details don’t really matter. 3. I’ve never been to North Africa OR the Caribbean, so if I’m wrong about what either place is like then blame google or just assume Silver’s a lying turd. 4. Yes, this is my sense of humour in a nutshell. And 5. I know I’m not as funny as I like to think I am. Fair warning.

“Did I ever tell you about the time I stumbled upon a very strange marketplace when I was lost in the desert near Tripoli?”

Silver adjusted his crutch where it stood propped against the arm of his chair and then lounged backwards, his leg outstretched beneath the table and his half full mug of ale resting against his stomach, rising and falling slowly with his breathing.

“No,” Flint said, pulling his gaze away from where it was roving across the faces of the less than respectable clientele of the tavern and settling it instead on Silver. “Was that before or after Nassau?”

“Oh, before. Long before,” Silver replied.

His eyes were bright and mischievous, and Flint knew that there would be no escaping whatever manner of tale it was that he was about to recount, no doubt in wildly vivid detail and baring only a passing resemblance to the truth. Not that Flint wanted to escape the storytelling. The rumbling roll of Silver’s voice always washed over him like a lulling tide, familiar and settling and warm. Flint could almost taste the salt on his lips again whenever Silver spoke.

farerb  asked:

I was wondering what do you think about the possibility that the "giant in armor made of stone" is Littlefinger? It seems like he has a connection to Ned, Sansa (like Sandor and Jaime has with either Ned, Sansa or Arya) - betraying Ned and trying to manipulate Sansa. And it fits to GOHH's prophecy "And later I dreamt that maid again, slaying a savage giant in a castle built of snow." What do you think?

He saw Sansa crying herself to sleep at night, and he saw Arya watching in silence and holding her secrets hard in her heart. There were shadows all around them. One shadow was dark as ash, with the terrible face of a hound. Another was armored like the sun, golden and beautiful. Over them both loomed a giant in armor made of stone, but when he opened his visor, there was nothing inside but darkness and thick black blood.  –AGOT, Bran III

The three shadows in Bran’s dream, looming over Sansa and Arya, are certainly Sandor, Jaime, and Gregor. It was uncertain who the third was until ASOS/AFFC/ADWD, but since Ser Robert Strong has no head and his blood has turned black, it’s pretty much a given. And Gregor is certainly connected to Arya (as she was his prisoner and his men are on her list) and Sansa (via Sandor, and via the fact that Cersei will use Robert Strong to destroy her enemies). You can see my further analysis of this subject in this post and in this tag.

Many do theorize that the “savage giant” from the Ghost of High Heart’s prophecy could be Littlefinger, due to the fact that the original House Baelish sigil is the head of the Titan of Braavos. Nevertheless, if that prophecy has not already been fulfilled by Sansa destroying Sweetrobin’s “giant” doll in her snow castle Winterfell, I still believe it’s Gregor. Petyr Baelish is not particularly savage (even when he personally killed Lysa it was in entirely cold blood); and the fact that neither the Ghost’s prophecy nor Bran’s dream has any mention of the giant having fiery eyes, which the Titan and the Baelish sigil have, leads me to put Littlefinger as a very low probability.

I also theorize the “castle built of snow” may be Harrenhal. I am sure Sansa will get to Winterfell eventually, probably in ADOS or by the end of TWOW, but I think she may have some detours for most if not all of TWOW; plus, she has connections to Harrenhal through her Whent grandmother, through Petyr’s lordship, and through potential Arya parallels, and Harrenhal has seen the fiery death of Strongs before. Winterfell is still a very strong snow castle option of course, but I doubt Littlefinger will ever make it to Winterfell, and it’s a long long way for Robert Strong to travel even if he is a tireless zombie on a mission. (A marvelous fic concept, though!)

Anyway, you can believe what you like, and you do have fellow-minded others if you want support, but you did ask me, and these are my theories. :)  And let’s be real, we can’t know for sure until the books get to the point where Littlefinger and/or Gregor dies (again, in his case), and if Sansa is involved and where those deaths happen. So we’re just going to have to wait and see…

Hi, it's Detour Anon. I've been missing your writing so I thought I'd send you a prompt. I was watching Wetwired and I LOVE it at the end when M finds S. 30xf did a really lovely post on Ao3 on what happened after S calms down but I've always wanted to read what went through M's mind as he finds S at her mom's and his thoughts as she hurls accusations at him. I feel guilty about asking you to write but then I remember how good your writing is and then warm and fuzzy feelings take over.

Sorry it took so long! Set of course in Wetwired, which is one my favorite episodes. Please never feel guilty for asking me to write a thing! I love writing things! I hope you enjoy :)

His knuckles turn white as he grips the steering wheel too tightly. He needs a moment to breathe, to realize it wasn’t her. The dead woman inside the morgue is not his Scully. She’s someone’s friend, wife, daughter; someone must miss her, will have their own world come crushing down. Not his, though. His world is intact, merely shaken while Scully is still missing. If she were here she’d tell him to take a deep breath. Put your head between your knees, Mulder and breathe. Except he’s not having a panic attack; this is relief. His stomach somersaults, his lips curl upwards in a bright, albeit brief smile. Reality comes crashing down just a moment later; he has to find her before he gets another call like this, before this nightmare becomes reality. He takes out his cell phone, pushes a few buttons until Margaret Scully’s name appears. He taps his finger against the wheel, waits. She is still not answering. With her daughter missing, she wouldn’t leave the house, anxious for his call. Mulder starts the car, sets it on route to Mrs. Scully’s house. She has to be there. She just has to be.

Mulder parks across the street, his eyes quickly scanning the area for Scully’s car. It’s not here. In a few quick strides, he is at the door, the knocker clacking noisily against the wood. Light streams through the windows; there is no way Mrs. Scully isn’t home. He knocks again, stronger as his impatience increases. A light clicks on over his head and the door opens to reveal Scully’s mother. Her eyes flicker around nervously unable to hold his gaze.

“Mrs. Scully, is she here?” He forces the gentleness into his words, because the answer is written in her eyes, palpable in the thinly pressed lips.

“Uhm, no.” Mulder likes this woman, respects her an awful lot. Right now, however, the need to push her aside, storm in, find Scully and take her home, is overwhelming him. Swallowing his instincts, he tries one more time.

“You haven’t been answering her phone.”

“Well, when I hear from her, I’ll call you, ok?” When she moves to close the door Mulder panics and rushes past her.

“I need to see her.” Is his only excuse as he steps inside. He’s never been in Mrs. Scully’s house and he wishes the circumstances were different. At least he’s not here to tell her that her daughter is dead. That has to count for something. But he doesn’t see Scully. He turns around, searches Mrs. Scully’s face for clues. “Where is she?” It’s the sheer terror in the older woman’s eyes that makes him turn around. There she is, his Scully, pointing her gun at him. Her hands shake and her eyes glint dangerously as Mulder swallows his pain. A vague memory of a similar moment in time covers him in goose bumps. Back then it had been him, though; he who wasn’t thinking clearly, he who was out of his mind. We’ve got to stop meeting like this, he thinks and almost smiles. Scully’s eyes, angry and full of tears, jolt him back, kill any hint of humor.

“I’m here to help you, Scully.” He hasn’t thought this through, not completely. His sole purpose has been to find Scully, and here she is, but now he doesn’t know what to do. Mrs. Scully appears by his side, her movements slow and deliberate.

“I’m on your side, you know that.” If there’s one thing she has to know, has to have internalized, it’s that. There are plenty of things she doesn’t believe. Her belief in him, in what they are as partners, though, has not wavered once. What is this thing doing to your brain, Scully?

“Put it down, Dana.” Mrs. Scully chimes in and Scully’s hand trembles, her thoughts fighting a battle inside her; what is the truth, what is the lie? Her eyes find Mulder’s again, disorientation swimming there, before something clears in her mind and her gaze turns icy cold. The look is not new to him; he’s seen it before a couple of times. Never directed at him, though.

“Scully, listen to me very carefully,” he has to get through to her, he has to, “You don’t know it, but you’re sick with the same thing that drove those other people to murder… and whatever you think may be happening…” he aches to get closer to her. As if his nearness could convince her. See it in my eyes, Scully. Listen to my voice, Scully. Let me convince you. The click of her gun, her hard voice, they let him freeze up, stop right there and then. All he can do it watch, helplessly, as she points her gun at him. Mulder knows what it feels like. The deafening sound of a gunshot that inexplicably coincides with the sharp pain when the skin breaks, is torn apart by the bullet. When Scully shot him a year ago, she did it to protect him. She knew exactly how not to cause any lasting damage. This time he will not be so lucky.

Once she starts hurling accusations at him, he wishes she’d just pull the trigger. Her eyes trained on her mother, the words spew from her mouth and hit him like well placed blows. How can she believe he’s never trusted her? She is, and he tells her so, the only one he trusts. The only person in this whole damn, treacherous world. His words, though, they don’t resonate with her. She’s not seeing him, the real him, standing here pleading with her. One of the people who abducted her, she yells and he almost nods; you’re right, you’re right, the guilt chides inside of him. One of the people who put that thing in her neck. Killed her sister.

I’m so sorry, Scully. So, so sorry. He begins to understand; every word she utters unlocks another buried regret in the depth of his troubled mind. How can he convince her that these thoughts are lies when part of him believes it, too?

“That’s not true, Dana.” Mrs. Scully saves them from their own personal hells; her voice soft, yet steady. She steps closer to her daughter, not one doubt in her mind. If Mulder were to follow her, she’d shoot. He is sure of it now. He almost takes the step to free her of him. The thoughts she has right now are altered, reflect a different truth. This is her greatest fear; Mulder turning on her, causing her pain. Leaving her. As if he could. His selfishness and his need to have her by his side, no matter the personal costs, keep him here. He watches Scully break down in her mother’s arms, like a child, holding on to the one thing she can trust and believe in. For him, it’s her. She is the only thing that makes sense in this world and he almost lost her again, tonight.

Without letting go of her daughter, Mrs. Scully reaches out her hand. Mulder dares to step closer now and takes it. Her hand is warm, but so very strong as she holds his much bigger one.

“Call an ambulance.” She whispers against her daughter’s crying, shaking body. With his free hand, he fishes out his cell phone, makes the call.

“You’ll be fine, Dana,” she turns her head to Mulder and he watches her tears fall freely, unashamed, “she’ll be fine, Fox.” He nods at her, the movement automatic. Mrs. Scully squeezes his hand; a bridge between the partners, holding them together.

“You’ll both be fine.”

hey i've been going thru ur bookmarks on ao3 nd was just wondering if u had some more saigenos recs? or ones tht r especially Good. thx!

oh yeah i made a big rec post a long while ago! you can check that out here. most if not all of these should also be in my bookmarks, though.

there have, of course, been new fics that have come out since then - especially bc the fandom just did saigenos week a little bit ago! So here, let me find a few new recommendations:

Four-Month by TwinPliers

Short and sweet, it’s a cute anniversary fic. I actually just read it this morning, it has a lovely atmosphere and I like how they wrote the boys uvu

Boom Town / Irreplaceable / Veins of Gold by batneko

These are just a few suggestions of bat’s recent work. Batneko has TONS of fics and they’re all pretty fuckin rad, their work is consistently solid and they do a lot of fun AU’s! If you haven’t gone through their work, I highly recommend them.

Tulips in the Spring by @nyam

This one’s a really cute/slightly bittersweet AU where Genos is a ghost, and he and Saitama meet and become friends and work together to refine the old mansion Genos used to live in.

Pinocchio by @criscura

It’s Cris back at it again with that Good Shit. This one’s a really interesting, creative look at Genos.

Let Him Be Soft and We’ll be Home Again by 8ball

It takes a lot to make me read most angsty fic but 8ball just… always, just, does it so well, and it’s never really angst, it’s just like… Thoughtful? and Meaningful? it’s the shit that gets me tho haha. Anyway their shit is good, def check these two out if you haven’t already.

[NSFW] Cyborgs Don’t Lay Eggs by @toastycyborg

hey hey hey I didn’t put this one on the last list bc it’s like Very NSFW but also I’ve already read this fic like 3 times and it’s too good not to rec this time tbh. even if you like… aren’t into the kink, it’s super well written and just Really Fucking Good and tbh it’ll probably get you into the kink so MAYBE TRY IT… S’REALLY GOOD///

Salvaged by Guardian

This one wasn’t on my previous list which is like? Weird? Because it’s really good, and the most recent update was ESPECIALLY nice. It’s slow to update but every new chap is worth the wait~

Catharsis by Vinci

I’m really surprised this one wasn’t already in my bookmarks? Anyway, this is a really interesting fic; Genos turns human due to some kind of magic and the fic is about him dealing with the dysphoria of it - whether he likes it or not, whether he likes if Saitama likes it or not, his feelings about it possibly going away, etc.

That’s enough for now…! Hopefully some of these are new to you, dear anon~ These are just a few of the slightly more recent/overlooked ones that I really like that didn’t make it onto my last list.

A Writer’s PSA

Firstly: I just saw an interesting post made by @caplanbuckybarnes (who I can’t tag, but that’s okay), that inspired both anger and relief in me at once. I was compelled to type out this PSA.

Secondly: I am tagging everyone who has asked to be tagged in The Irrelevance of Napoli SO YOU CAN SEE HOW GODDAMN AWESOME THEY ARE BEFORE I START THIS.

@thecrownedrose @persephone-is-here-omg @find-me-here2 @captainamerotica @redgillan @angryschnauzer @ursulaismymiddlename @rebelslicious @kittykitty-mewmeww @erisjade @siren-kitten-his @buckyappreciationsociety @kozmicrock @aingealcethlenn @rachelle-on-the-run @thewinterswimmer @vaisabu @inside-lizzys-head @angryschnauzer @melconnor2007

Thirdly: I am doing this more for the sake of my upcoming fic, Cherchez la Femme, which I have been working on for MONTHS–probably since Septemberish–than I am for Napoli. Also doing this for the sake of other authors who may feel this way, but don’t want to say anything for fear of making people mad. I personally am tired of dealing with my own anxiety about this subject, so I’m getting this off my chest.

I am exceedingly frustrated by the majority of attitudes (or non attitudes) I see towards anything that is not a one-shot on here. ESPECIALLY if it’s smut.

I like smut. I love smut. I’ve read some really good smut on here. But… that’s not all I’ve read on here. When I first got on Tumblr, I found some really unique and interesting fics, and I got very invested in them. But lately, the majority of what I’ve been seeing on this site is the same damn thing, over and over and over again. Smut one shots, no plot, no character development, no nothing. Those fics I was invested in were discontinued (temporarily, I hope) in favor of smut one shots, which, like I said, I don’t mind, but ya know… I also do.

Authors are capable of writing more than smut one shots.

Authors are capable of writing more than smut one shots. And many of them do write more than smut one shots. But I have seen two (2) of the multi-part fics I follow being seriously reblogged. That’s out of A LOT that I happen to read and like. One of my favorites got put on hiatus because there were no reads on the most recent chapter at the time.

Tumblr, seriously, what is going on? Like, I recognize that we all want to imagine ourselves having sex with some version of Sebastian Stan (ME TOO, I AM NOT EXCLUDING MYSELF FROM THAT GROUP) but some of these people have worked ages, ages on these fics. With well-developed characters and plot and settings and serious issues that are worked through. THESE PEOPLE I READ SHOULD WRITE ORIGINAL CONTENT AND GET PUBLISHED. In my world, they would. Because they are that good.

And yet, they get almost no recognition. And it frustrates me, and scares me, and makes me really, really sad. Some might say, “Tumblr is more (something else) than fanfic for me”–which is fine. Please engage in whatever joy may have brought you to Tumblr. But also remember that for others, it IS about fanfic, and they enjoy doing that just as much as you enjoy doing whatever you do. So hit the like button every once in a while. Read more fics of your favorite characters. Some might say, “I have –something that gives me a shorter attention span–, I can’t remember what happened before this chapter/can’t concentrate enough to get through a whole fic in the time I have”–in which case, you are fine, don’t worry about it, not a big deal. Some of you may say, “Works in progress are annoying, I hate waiting for new parts to come out”–and trust me, I’m right there with you. I’m waiting on a few new parts for fics myself (I’m also waiting for Diana Gabaldon’s next Outlander book, goddammit), but that doesn’t stop me from reading and commenting on the parts that are there! Tell the author that you have something to look forward to until the next part comes out! Also, TELL THE AUTHOR IF YOU ARE WAITING FOR THEM TO COMPLETE IT, or ask to be tagged in the final masterlist! We won’t mind if you do it that way! Some of you may just hate longer fics and there’s nothing anybody can do to change that. In which case, whatever floats your boat.

I’m not getting on anyone in the above paragraph to suddenly change your preferences and start reading fics with more than two parts. What I am saying, though, is if you consume, but don’t comment AND reblog (or at least tag and reblog), or if you don’t consume at all and blatantly ignore what authors are putting out there… come on, guys. We put our heart and souls into this stuff. Some of the stuff we write is taken from real life. Some people don’t have anything but their writing to help them get through what may be a really bad stage. Likes, comments, reblogs–writers need these. We don’t all have to be JK Rowling here, but we do hope to see that someone smiles or laughs, or cries, or feels in some way with our fics.

One of my friends on here was very sad a couple of days ago because she was getting very few notes on even her one-shots, or reblogs with no comments. She has 700+ followers and a taglist that’s a mile long. It made me sad for her, and I can’t even hug her because she lives far away from me. Readers, you don’t have to comment or reblog every chapter of a fic that’s been written, it’s really okay if you don’t, but let the reader know that you like it and acknowledge the work that’s been done.

I’m still relatively tiny on here, and I definitely need to follow more blogs, so I will now go looking. But, indulge me for a second: If, when I publish Cherchez, I deem it as not getting enough notes, I will make a goddamn video of myself deleting the thing off my computer and burning the damn notebooks. I started by writing this stuff for me. Napoli ended up being about someone I know who recently died. Cherchez was what I wrote when I was coming out of a breakdown. So yes, I write for myself. But as soon as I put it up here, it becomes yours. You consume it, you feel because of it. So really, guys, read all the smut you want. I know I’m going to. But read more than smut, too.

Someone who is a teeny bit oversmutted

(If you want to, you can check my tags for more info)

On delays, the rest of season one, and being whelmed.

Before I get to the post-proper, this is me offering a cyber high-five to anyone who got the “whelmed” reference!

Hello all!

Alex Brown here! Your friendly, neighborhood co-showrunner. First, I’d like to thank each and every one of you for supporting our show - when we released our first episode nearly a year ago, I figured it would be a fun side project to do with my friends, and that maybe some old college acquaintances who knew us would listen.

I’m over-the-moon ecstatic that I was wrong. Your response to our episodes, our characters, our music (which is the best part, let’s be real), and the humor we try to put in our stage directions is beyond anything I could’ve ever dreamed of. Throughout this past year, we’ve seen spectacular fan art, amazing fan fics, lots of fantastic theories, moodboards that fill my heart with more joy than I can express, and lots of other great things. As someone who’s lived the past six or so years as a frustrated writer who has struggled to get published, it’s been ridiculously fulfilling to see that I’m capable of helping to create something that people can genuinely connect to.

With that said, I want to let you all know where I’m at with a few of our processes, because, for me, the struggle right now is quite real. It’s not really a secret that one of our mini-episodes, Home, was influenced a lot by my own experience with depression. It’s certainly something that Etta has, too - but a lot of what’s in there are things I’ve felt for a long time. And, for me, some of those things still linger.

I have mechanisms in place to help confront these thoughts. Other than on-going therapy, I like to put a lot on my proverbial plate to keep busy when I’m not in an introspective mood. My day job helps with a lot of that - during the school year I’m often in late-night meetings, or meeting with student groups on the weekend. I was hoping to have a little more free time this summer, but my day job seems determined to keep adding to my growing to-do list.

I’m also stage managing a show this summer, which has been lots of fun (and is totally my jam - I’m a way better stage manager than I am a stage actor, lemme tell ya). But the theater I’m working with is about an hour away on a good day, so there’s a lot of driving involved at the moment.

There are other things I’m trying to balance as well - getting another book written (as that’s been on hold for…about a year now), trying to make sure that my friends stay connected (being scattered around the country makes that a bit harder), trying to just… have some downtime and read a book, or watch The Bachelorette. All of these things are very important to my mental health - and all of these things haven’t been happening nearly as much as they should.

That was a very long-winded explanation of what’s going on with me, but I wanted to share that with you all, because I want you to know that I take this show seriously. It’s pushed me creatively, taught me new skills, made me a better writer, certainly a better actor, and I hope a better friend. I truly adore the community that’s been built around this podcast, and I can’t wait to see what you all think of the rest of season one!

And that’s what the point of this post is, I think. I have most of what I need for episode 11, but what I don’t have right now is a lot of time. As we’ve said lots before, I get individual audio from each actor, have to sift through all of their takes, and piece the puzzle together from there. It can take hours - sometimes, most of the time, it winds up taking days. Which is not a problem if I didn’t have lots of other time consuming obligations tugging me in their direction - but, here we are. I’m writing this note at 1:46 in the morning because I didn’t get back from rehearsal until 11:10 PM, caught up on The Bachelorette, and now have time to craft this note.

So, what I’m getting at is that we have sixteen planned episodes for season one, and we are very close to getting episode 11 out to you. I promise that I’ll try my best to get that done before June, but the show I’m stage managing opens right at the end of the month, so things might be a little hectic.

Once episode 11 goes out, we’re going to take another hiatus to prep the rest of the episodes. This time, I don’t plan to lift the hiatus until the rest of season one is edited and ready to be released. Unfortunately, I don’t have a timeline for you yet - and, seeing as how release dates seem to be a bit flexible when it comes to this show - I think it makes sense not to speculate right now. Once we know when episode 11 is coming out - and when the rest of season one will happen - we’ll let you know. I promise.

In the meantime, I’m hoping to get some admin stuff straightened out so we can start to sell our wonderful merchandise! The response we got to our designs was amazing, and I want to make sure that you all have access to that if you’d like to rep the show somehow! (And props again to Em and Eliza for the rad designs!). Once I get a handle on that, we’ll also launch our Patreon - but I want to make sure we have cool rewards for all of you, because you deserve the best! I don’t want to try to rush into things for the sake of having/doing them anymore - and I think waiting on these things will help us in the long run.

Wow, this note was much longer than I anticipated. Uhhh, so, yeah. We’re still here, and we will continue to make content and tell what we hope is one kick-ass story. It just might take us a while, and that’s 100% on me. I am but one person, and there are but 24 hours in a day. But we’ll get there together, one way or another.

So thank you, thank you, thank you for your support! You’ve made this whole experience into probably the best thing I’ve ever done, and I’m so glad you’re here.

If you’re going to stay for a while and would like some chocolate fondue, I hear there’s some overflowing in the kitchen.
