i've been seeing lots of things like this

Harry's interview on Quotidien
  • I: Can you hear me?
  • H: Yes
  • I: Welcome to Paris!
  • H: Thank you
  • I: How are you? Can you answer in French?
  • H: Good! A little bit. A tiny bit. Très bien et toi ?(very good and you?)
  • I: Very good, thank you. We start our interviews with “can you give us your five favourites words in English or French. Or a French sentence”. Someone told me you knew a French sentence.
  • H: Comment vous faites un café si délicieux? (How do you make such a delicious coffee?)
  • I: OK, that’s good.
  • H: That’s all I have.
  • I: Do you say it very often?
  • H: No... Yes
  • I: What does France mean to you? Is it something, someone etc...?
  • H: Best people I’ve known... I think her, *shows a fan* I guess. Fabien Barthez.
  • I: Yes, Fabien Barthez. Harry, you’re 23 years old and you’re one of the best known pop-star in the world. Everybody has expectations with your new album and single Sign Of The Times. Why did you choose that song? This is not what people were expecting.
  • H: I think I wanted to.. I've always liked music that made me feel something. You know I think writing it I could feet something I wanted to bring it out. I think it's a good indicator for me of what the album is to me. That's why I wanted to go with that first.
  • I: Billboard wrote that the single was "one of the more ambitious opening statements in pop this decade". Not bad, isn't it?
  • H: Thanks!
  • I: Do you have friends working at Billboard?
  • H: I don't know anyone at Billboard.
  • I: When we listen to the song we think of David Bowie, Queen, who else did you think of?
  • H: I mean, I think everyone, anything, any song you've ever listened to growing up or throughout your life or you've enjoyed, inspired you. There are a lot of different things. I wanted to just write and see what came out. I didn't know what I sounded like to make an album. So this process was as interesting for me as I think it will be for people listening to the album for the first time.
  • I: Do you know French singers other than Serge Gainsbourg? That's a tricky question.
  • H: I know Woodkid. He directed my music video.
  • I: Why him?
  • H: I think his videos are amazing, he's a really talented guy and I love French people so I worked with him.
  • I: When you're in Spain, do you say that you love Spanish people?
  • H: No!
  • I: It seems like everything has been easy...
  • H: Great tie.
  • I: You think so? It's French.
  • H: It's not a Spanish tie, isn't it?
  • I: Can I see your loafer? Oh yes! What is the brand? That's not French, isn't it? It's Italian.
  • H: No.
  • I: That's from the European Union!
  • H: Probably yeah.
  • I: It seems like everything has been easy for you, is it true?
  • H: Was what simple?
  • I: Your life, everybody wants a life like yours, with One Direction...
  • H: I mean, I feel very lucky to be able to make music, I feel very lucky to be able to make this, I feel very lucky today being in France and performing my song. I love this song. I can't complain.
  • I: What were the unpleasant things?
  • H: *thinking*
  • I: I don't know, say only one thing.
  • H: I think when you care so much about something, it's hard to get to the point where you feel like it's finished and it feels like you're adding and it never ends and it adds up. So I think the hardest part was getting into that point and be like "ok that's finished."
  • I: You said to the Rolling Stone magazine that most of the album was inspired by a woman. Really?
  • H: No I think, honestly, the album is much more about me than it is about anyone else. I think if I said the album is about a woman it kind of feels like, I don't know, I put a lot of work into this. I don't feel like it revolves around woman. It's a lot about me and things I've never said before. It's more about me.
  • I: How did you start with a boy band and end with a solo career? Is it complicated?
  • H: It's been a lot of fun. You know we were very lucky to get to do some amazing things and at the moment in our lives, we're in a time where everyone is trying their own thing and have a good time. It's been amazing to see everyone doing their own thing as well. If I can do as well as the others, it'd be amazing.
  • I: Do you call them everyday or text them? Do you use What's app?
  • H: I don't have that.
  • I: Why?
  • H: Yes we talk, absolutely. And everyone is bringing stuff out. It's been a lot going on. It's been a good time.
  • I: This is the album cover! Can you describe it? Why did you choose this picture?
  • H: Yeah. So, I don't know. I worked with photographer Harley Weir, I'm a massive fan of her work. And that's amazing and I was lucky enough to work with her. I felt like this was what I wanted.
  • I: Why is it pink? Why the water? Why your back? Why? It's beautiful but why is it pink?
  • H: I don't know, man!
  • I: Really? You don't know?
  • H: I don't know. I don't think I want...
  • I: Apparently pink is Rock'n'roll's colour.
  • H: Apparently so. I don't know. I think it means something to me and if it means anything to anyone else, I wouldn't want to take away from that by explaining it. I think the cool thing about stuff like photos and art is you can just leave it. You don't have to explain it.
  • I: Everybody sees what they want to see.
  • H: Yes exactly.
  • I: Have you seen this?
  • *video of people reacting to Harry's single*
  • I: Your fans record themselves while listening to the song for the first time. You can hear relevant analysis and apparently they all really liked it. Do you read what people say about you on social media? On Youtube, Twitter, Instagram? Do you use Instagram?
  • H: Yes I use it a little bit.
  • *The public disagrees with Harry*
  • H: Yes I use it a little bit. I mean I wish everyone was having as good time as the girl who was like that with her hands. That's what I do when I listen to the song.
  • I: Are you the one using your Instagram? Do you use your own fingers or someone else does it for you?
  • H: Yes, I do mine.
  • I: Do you still vote in Redditch?
  • H: In?
  • I: Redditch!
  • H: That's where I was born?
  • I: Yes.
  • H: I don't live in Redditch.
  • I: So you don't vote there. Where did you vote?
  • H: London, yeah.
  • I: What do you think of the Brexit? Welcome to Europe!
  • H: Thank you very much, thanks. I mean, I don't really comment on politics. To me, anything that brings people together is better than things that pull people apart. That's ... yeah.
  • I: Yet, you are in favour of equality of rights, men, women, gay people, straight people... That's politics.
  • H: I don't know. It doesn't feel like politics. I think stuff like equality feels much more fundamental. I feel like everyone is equal. That doesn't feel like politics to me.
  • I: Your fans are fetishists. They know all of your tattoos, piece of jewellery, they have heart attacks when you cut your hair. Right now you're playing with their feelings. Do you know that?
  • H: Oh ok.
  • I: Yes! What is your favourite tattoo?
  • H: I think... I have a.. probably. I don't know, actually.
  • I: Which one is the latest?
  • H: The latest is this one there. *shows Arlo* And this one. *shows Jackson*
  • I: Jackson? All of them?
  • H: Yes.
  • I: What's the story behind your haircut? How much did you spend on hair products with One Direction?
  • H: Yeah, like a lot. I used a lot, yeah.
  • I: You're in Dunkirk, Christopher Nolan's new movie.
  • H: Yes.
  • I: How did you do?
  • H: I auditioned.
  • I: Look at you there.
  • H: I am, that's me.
  • I: Yes.
  • H: I auditioned and it was great. It's going to be a really cool movie.
  • I: Harry, it feels like we know you since you're a baby. The whole world discovered you in 2010 on X Factor.
  • *video of Harry's X Factor audition*
  • I: You auditioned alone but Simon Cowell had an idea... he put you in a band with Zayn, Louis, Liam and Niall. You became One Direction. You found the name One Direction and you sold millions of albums. One Direction are soon considered as the new Beattles and you filled the biggest stadiums. The whole world was talking about you. When you go out we prayed for your eardrums. You became UK's pride. David Cameron is in one of your music videos, your sang for the Queen. But in 2015... bang! Zayn left the band, fans couldn't get over it. But don't worry, their favourite is now on the cover of the Rolling Stone magazine, he's in Christopher Nolan's new movie, he's Mick Jagger on SNL... What you don't know is that we've met in 2012. You were in France to promote an album and now I have questions. First one! When you're in a car and fans are all around you, do you see that?
  • *video of fans around a car*
  • H: I think I've actually lost my shoe there. When I got in the car... I got in the car and I was like "how many shoes do I have?" Yes I lost my shoe.
  • I: I have another question! Do you still do that before going on stage?
  • *video of Harry and Lou*
  • I: Can we do it?
  • H: No.
  • *does it anyway*
  • I: What is the weirdest question someone asked you?
  • H: I think it was actually a French interview. I got asked if I would pee in a sink... Yeah.
  • I: Ok, that's weird!
  • H: It was the first question, the first question.
  • I: It puts you in the mood.
  • H: Yeah.
  • I: What is the question you never want to be asked ever again? Did I asked you that question?
  • *Harry asks the public*
  • H: Which one? Oh crush.
  • I: What?
  • H: Crush.
  • I: Oh ok. I didn't ask it! Did you know that a French author wrote a novel about you. It's called "Styles", it's about his obsession with you. It's in French. You can translate it.
  • H: Oh! Is that true?
  • I: Yes it's true. He dedicated to you. It's called "Styles" and it's a really good book. Read it!
  • H: Thank you.
  • I: Thank you very much Harry Styles for coming tonight. His first eponymous album comes out on the 12th May. Thank you Harry Styles.
  • H: Thank you.
  • I: Have a safe journey home.

i see the word manipulation get thrown around a lot in the bpd community and while thats understandable i just wanted to give you all a small reminder

things that ARE manipulation are things like
  • never accepting responsibility for hurting others
  • guilt tripping others to get what you want
  • harassing others for not agreeing with you
  • intentionally diminishing other’s problems/difficulties by comparing them to your own
  • using other’s insecurities against them
things that are NOT manipulation include
  • expressing negative emotions to someone when you are hurt or distressed
  • not expressing emotions for the fear of bothering others
  • disagreeing with others and explaining your side of things
  • expressing your needs to those close to you
  • not socializing due to lack of energy or spoons

unhealthy behaviors (such as bottling things up, ignoring your problems, etc) definitely make situations harder and are things that need to be worked on asap, but unhealthy behaviors are not automatically manipulative just because someone has bpd

throwing around the wrong words can be extremely counter productive in this community, especially when there is already so much stigma and misunderstanding surrounding this disorder (not to mention that carelessly calling people manipulative and/or abusive for small things can end up devaluing what abuse and manipulation really mean)

TL;DR: do your research and get to know the actual meaning of strong words before using them - words like ‘manipulation’ or ‘abuse’ are not for you to take lightly and use against people you just disagree or have a problem with

dolce-dandy  asked:

I absolutely adore your art but I've been wondering if you also had a simpler art style besides the one we usually see? I think I've read that most drawings you do take about 6+ hours to paint so I was wondering what your 10min/1hour draws are like

Thanks a lot! ;A;

I used to do extra quick 5 minute things like this but not so much anymore since switching to self employed (it was all that could be cranked out during lunch break)

I used to cell shade too but that actually takes even longer than the art I do now somehow DX

I do use a simpler style from time to time (mostly commissions) but I don’t actually think they are any faster DX Maybe a little?

seto’s personal trashy update

my last day of vacation is tomorrow, these 3 weeks i’ve been animating for the islands MAP, watched hours and hours of gameplays, read the entire snk manga, and watched anime

i’m a productive child

Just.. thank you for this

aside from the fact vlogging/comedy has always been a thing her and i participated in prior to even meeting eachother, @toomuchducky and i completely recognize the importance in showing people, lgbt+ or otherwise, that wlw can be happy, that we’re normal, and that we can get happy endings. it’s fucking cheesy i know, but it’s the truth. we have genuine fun doing these dumb videos but a lot of what propels us is knowing how important it is to put this type of stuff out there. ❤

Hey if you need a prompt to write I really like the idea of Lance with synesthesia. I find synesthesia reeeeeaaallly cool and it could make for some interesting stories. Also I live for langst and I've been going though your blog looking at your past stories and amazing cosplays like all day and you are like my new favorite person on tumblr. Hope that's not too creepy. ❤️

Okay!

I had to do a lot of research on this so I hope I brought it justice.

Slight Reference to Bullies

Lance was around 6 when he realized that he didn’t see the world the same as everyone else. He saw things differently. He tasted things differently. He smelled things differently.

Lance never talked about what he experienced until one day he told his mom that he didn’t like the word ‘Blue’ because it tasted weird.

Lance didn’t quite understand why she laughed at him when he said that. Everyone can taste words right?

Lance had never been more wrong in his life.

After a few months of being picked on by his siblings and the laughing stock of his parents he was finally diagnosed. Synesthesia.

It wasn’t anything bad, just made him very different from other people.

Lance didn’t mind, he simply started to learn what made him uncomfortable.

The words Blue and Pineapple were a no go for him. It made his mouth feel weird and he was always had an awful taste in his mouth when he said them.

The number 17 was always yellow. 14 was purple and 349 was vibrant pink. Lance didn’t mind the colors and numbers that much, only when the colors were with there right number. It would always make him slightly uncomfortable when he saw 17 in pink or 14 in green. It just wasn’t normal to him.

The sensations that moved over his skin likes waves, were the worst. Everytime Lance smelled broccoli or raw meat his skin crawled. He couldn’t get it to stop until he was away from the smell.

-

Lance grew used to bullies throughout his years in school. It didn’t take long for people to notice what made Lance uncomfortable. Once they did, they would use it against him.

They would write numbers in the wrong color, they would trick Lance into saying blue, they would eat broccoli right next to him.

Lance couldn’t escape it. Not even at the Garrison.

Lance thanked every God under the sun that he got a understanding roommate, a boy named Hunk. Hunk was very supportive of him and tried to make Lance’s days as easy as possible. No broccoli or raw meat, no horrible words, no wrong color numbers.

-

When Lance joined Voltron, he was faced with 5 new people that knew nothing of his situation.

Lucky Lance never had to look at numbers but sometimes the food goo would smell a little too close to broccoli. Those meals were always the hardest for Lance, he couldn’t exactly get up and leave the table.

Even when Lance was on Earth his mother would serve broccoli and tell Lance to suck it up when he started to shift in his seat and rub his arms.

Of course Lance had to pilot the Blue lion, and he had to say the word ‘Blue’ more than he ever wanted.

-

Lance eventually started to use his  synesthesia to his and the entire team’s advantage. He was able to remember certain passcodes due to the colors that he familiarized with certain numbers. He never knew the code perfectly but he would see pink in his head and know the number.

Lance was also more creativity than his team so he found himself helping Pidge and Hunk come up with new machines.

-

He still hadn’t opened up to his team (excluding Hunk) because of his fear of how they would treat him. However after living with the team for a few months he didn’t care what they thought or how they reacted.

Lance entered the bridge where everyone was standing, Lance filled his lungs with oxygen and spoke loud and clear. “I have something to tell you all.”

Sorry it took so long!

I can see why you’re interested in this topic! Once I started to research I couldn’t stop <3

I hope you like it!

Thank you <333

Also I’m happy that you like my blog!

🎶🎶When You Collect Records🎶🎶
  • Hipster: *moves dusty old boxes out of the way* Whoa, an old record player. It looks like it's in working order too! *runs outside*
  • Hipster: Yo, dad!
  • Dad: What?
  • Hipster: We're getting rid of all of poppop's stuff, right?
  • Dad: There's something you want, isn't there?
  • Hipster: There's this old stereo record player in the attic.
  • Dad: What do you need a record player for?
  • Hipster: My record collection.
  • Dad: I didn't even know they still made those things. Can't you just listen to music on your phone?
  • Hipster: Dad, there's a big difference between listening to music digitally and on record.
  • Dad: Fine, I don't wanna get into it with you right now. You can take the record player. You just have to get someone else to take it to your place for you. My truck's full.
  • Hipster: Thanks dad! *smooches dad on the cheek*
  • *later at hipster's apartment*
  • Friend: So, like Patch Adams ends with Patch Adams half-naked in front of a ton of people. I don't know if it was meant to be funny or like a weird sex thing, but like the movie was just a deeply disturbing character study. I can't stop thinking about it.
  • Hipster: That sounds boring. *unlocks door to apartment* Ta-da! Here it is! My new record player!
  • Friend: New? Looks fucking old to me, dude.
  • Hipster: Well, it is old. That's the appeal. And we're going to listen to the new Sufjan record on it.
  • Friend: Is that actually how you say Sufjan? Apparently, I've been pronouncing it wrong this whole time.
  • Hipster: Well, you won't after this record. There's an entire track where he just says his name for four minutes. It's amazing. *plays records*
  • Record Player: *coughs* Hello. Hello! Where am I? Doctor? Hello! Why is it so dark...............................Can I breathe? I can't breath. Oh god, I'm not breathing! Oh god, oh god, oh god, oh god, oh god! I.....................................
  • Hipster: Uh, that's not Sufjan.
  • Friend: It totally isn't. Is it some guest vocalist? I like the new direction he's going in. No instruments or singing, and long stretches of silence. Very experimental.
  • Hipster: *stops record player* I think maybe we should do something else for now.
  • Friend: Fucking lame! I wanted to listen to more Sufjan.
  • *days later at the record store*
  • Hipster: Yo, I think the Sufjan Stevens record I bought from here might be some kind of mispress.
  • Store Clerk: Really? It's a pretty major album. I doubt there'd just be a mispress like that.
  • Hipster: Yeah, but listen to it. It's not Sufjan at all. It's some girl talking.
  • *hipster and clerk listen to a completely normal Sufjan Stevens album together*
  • Store Clerk: What are you talking about? This is definitely Sufjan Stevens.
  • Hipster: Okay, but it wasn't like that when I listened to it at home! I even listened to it with my friend and he heard the same thing!
  • Store Clerk: Maybe there's something wrong with your record player.
  • Hipster: Hmm, maybe there is.
  • *back at the apartment*
  • Hipster: *turns on record player and just listens*
  • Record Player: ...I'm awake again. Why did I black out? Did I even black out? God, I'm not breathing, but it doesn't matter. Why don't I need to breathe? Am I even alive?
  • Hipster: Can you hear me?
  • Record Player: Doctor. Doctor! DOCTOR! Why can't I move? Why can't I feel anything. Keep yourself together. It'll all make sense soon. Calm down. Just breathe deeply. Fuck, I can't breathe! AIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I CAN'T BREATHE! DOCTOR! DOCTOR! DOCTOR! HELP! HELP ME, PLEASE! I'M STUCK! I CAN'T MOVE! PLEASE HELP ME!
  • Hipster: *turns off record player* It's just a recording, I bet. I can't believe I talked to it like an idiot... *nervously turns record player back on*
  • Record Player: I blacked out again. I blacked out. For how long? Is there even time here? Hell. This is hell, right? Did I go to hell.........................................
  • Hipster: *listens to the record player for hours*
  • Record Player: Negative 6893 bottles of wine on the wall! Negative 6893 bottles of wine! Take one down, pass it around, Negative 6894 bottles of wine on the wall... fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck! PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME! AIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
  • Hipster: *keeps listening*
  • Record Player: Soul of Christ, make me holy, Body of Christ, be my salvation. God, please forgive me. I'm sorry for all of my sins. Please free me. I'm so sorry. Please. Please. Please.
  • Hipster: *still listening*
  • Record Player: FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! SHITTY DOCTOR! FUCK YOU! LET ME OUT! LET ME OUT! *sobs intensely* FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! FUCK EVERYTHING! Please just let me go.
  • Hipster: *nervously walks up to record player and lightly taps on it*
  • Record Player: ...A knock. A KNOCK! PLEASE HELP ME! I'M STUCK! PLEASE! *record player begins shake violently*
  • Hipster: *backs away in fear*
  • Record Player: HELP! HELP! HELP ME! PLEASE, IF SOMEONE'S THERE, HELP ME! HELP ME! I'M STUCK! GET ME OUT OF HERE, PLEASE!
  • Hipster: *unplugs record player*
  • Hipster: *gets hammer from the closet and begins to break apart record player*
  • Record Player: *drips red*
  • Hipster: W-What? *cracks front of record player open*
  • *rotting viscera falls from the record player*
  • Hipster: O-Oh... *stuffs viscera back into the record player and duct tapes over it*
  • Hipster: *turns record player back on*
  • Record Player: ...I can feel. It hurts. Why does it hurt now? Why does it hurt? Why? Why? Why? WHY!? WHY!? WHY!? *spurts blood through it speakers and begins to gurgle*
  • Record Player: *hops forward* Please just let me go. Please... please. I'll do anything. I just want to see you again. I'm so sorry. This isn't what I asked for. I'm so sorry. *hops forward again and comes unplugged*
  • Record Player: *tips over, bleeding heavily onto the carpet*
  • Hipster: *silently cleans up the mess*
  • *some time later*
  • Hipster: *calls dad* Hey, dad. Oh, nothing. Uh, I just need to borrow your truck, If not tonight sometime this week. I just need to get rid of something. No, no, that's fine, I can do it myself. Yeah, tomorrow morning is perfect. Thanks Love you too. Bye.
  • *the next afternoon*
  • Dad: So, what did you need to get rid of this morning?
  • Hipster: Nothing important. Just some old junk... Dad, what kind of person was poppop?
  • Dad: Well, he was only the greatest man I've known in my life. Really caring, dedicated to his family. When you were born he loved you so much. He was a bit of a loner, though. It took a lot to get him to open up. Even around me and your grandmother. He was a bit like you. Always a huge music lover.
  • Hipster: I see. Was he ever a doctor?
  • Dad: That's a weird thing to ask. Nope. He hated doctors. Didn't trust modern medicine one bit. It's ironic. His cancer probably wouldn't have gotten to him if he did. But, your poppop was always so stubborn.
  • Hipster: Oh, okay then.
  • *some days later*
  • Friend: New carpet?
  • Hipster: Yup, old one was ugly wasn't it. It was time for a change.
  • Friend: That's what I've been telling you! I'm glad you finally came to your senses. What happened to your record player, though?
  • Hipster: That thing? I threw it away. It was busted.
  • Friend: That sucks. Are you gonna buy a new one?
  • Hipster: No.
  • Friend: But you won't have anything to play your records on.
  • Hipster: Yeah, but I buy records because I want to support the artists. They're not really for listening. Besides, lossless is better. FLAC is the future.

nothisisjeff  asked:

I know I've been asking a lot, my apologies. If you were to build a level in BioShock what would it be?

It’s all good :)  I’m sorry for taking so long to answer!

I think about this question all the time actually. If i ever made a game, it would 100% be underwater and rip off Bioshock shamelessly. lol Although i know very little about game design, i know what kind of areas i’d like to explore and what kind of things i’d like to see in a level.

To start with, it would be a mix of the Welcome to Rapture level and Fort Frolic. Both their layouts (a decent bit of verticality with branching paths) and their aesthetics (over the top stylish Art Deco everywhere you look with lots of variety and pleasing textures) make them my two favorite places in the game.

My level would have a more blueish tint to the water with the background buildings/skybox closer to the earlier versions of the game.

I would also add in more touches of color to break up the monotone look, and just because i love bright colors.

Plus, these little “warm” spots/areas give the eyes something to gravitate to, which is where i’d put lots of goodies to pick up (health, ammo, audio recorders) and they help give a sense of safety and comfort, which segues into one of my other favorite things in games (and life!), small cozy spots. There would be tons of little areas like this spread out around the level.

Of course i’m going to need a bunch of tall statues and pillars, preferably all broken apart, strewn across the level as well (you’ll be able to climb all over them (with goodies sometimes placed at the top), because i always try to do that and get disappointed if some invisible force field knocks me off of them). And you better bring an umbrella, because i’m doubling or even tripling the leaks of water everywhere.

When it comes to the visual part of level design in Bioshock, other than Art Deco, the most important things are windows looking out into the ocean and glass tunnels that connect different rooms. Without them, you’d never know you were underwater. So i’m putting a ton of these all over the place. Larger ones too, like the one surrounding the Atlas statue.

But windows alone wont cut it, there has to be something interesting to look at out there. So almost every window will have a story to tell. Plant/sea life, forgotten about Big Daddys, broken pieces of Rapture. It will all be out there for the player to take in and wonder about.

I’m also a fan of some of the older floor and wall textures of Fort Frolic, so those are going back in too.

Besides looking through a window at interesting stuff, i also want the player to be able to go out there and explore. Going “outside” of Rapture was what got me into taking screenshots after all, so i feel an almost magnetic draw to being on the outside looking in. Love how Bio 2 let you do this.

I’d like to find a way to blend this with gameplay though, so i’d give the player a choice. They can break almost any window and go outside (your character has a diving suit on, i guess), but it floods the room/s (some kind of sealed wall/airlock would come down at certain parts of the level when this happens, to keep the whole place from filling up with water). Flooding the room/s opens up all kinds of possibilities other then just being able to explore the outside area. It will cut you off from going into some rooms inside, but at the same time, open new paths to other parts of the level. You can also wipe out all your enemies at once, but now you have to worry about angry sea life attacking you. Once an area is flooded, you can go back inside and see how it destroyed everything (this gives the level more visual variety) and you’ll be able to revisit parts you were previously at much earlier in the level, that have now become flooded due to your actions.

Finally, there would be more epic moments like the plane tail crashing into the tunnel. That part was so unexpected and immersive, that afterwards, i hadn’t even noticed that i had moved to the end of my bed, like a foot away from the tv screen, due to the anxiety about drowning.

I could go on and on, but hopefully this gives a bit of insight into my imaginary Bioshock level. :)

Do you ever thing KS will become an anime & if it does would you watch it?

I don’t think I can see KS getting animated and aired because of censorship and what not. But if it does ever get animated, of course I’d want to watch it.

Did you do a lot of research when you started all of this? If so, can you please tell me where? I've been wanting to do something with Fae, but the internet leads me to a bunch of weird places. Thank you!

I didn’t actually do much research specifically for this project; most of it was double-checking things I’d picked up somewhere along the way (like is silver really good for anything besides werewolves), plus a lot of extraneous google searches like ‘WHY hole rock magic see’ and ‘running water safe fairies because????’

So I haven’t got any specific sites for you, I’m afraid. But pretty much all of the lore from the original comic in particular is roughly modernized scraps of old celtic/irish mythology. So that’s probably your best place to start looking, rather than ‘fairies/fair folk/etc’ - try something like ‘irish mythology protection charms/names/wild hunt/the sight/etc.’, and with any luck it will take you to some better places.

BVB Feiertagsmagazin w/ Erik Durm - English translation
  • Nobby: Here he is! I'm very happy you've found your way to me once again, Erik. So far you haven't won a "Goal or No Goal" game against me, that's why I'm especially happy you're here today and I hope it stays that way. Are you confident?
  • Erik: Yeah, it didn't work out the last two times but I think it's finally time that I kick your ass.
  • Nobby: I'm excited! (laughs) Have you analysed the match against Benfica, yet?
  • Erik: Yeah, we talked about it in the hotel. Obviously, we were all sad about the result. I think our approach and way of playing was very good. I think Benfica only had one shot on goal, that one header, and otherwise we didn't give them any chances. Still sucks to lose 1:0 but we're confident that we'll be able to turn things around at home in front of our fans and proceed to the quarter finals.
  • Nobby: Have you ever experienced such a match? Being so dominant?
  • Erik: I don't think so, I mean I've only been here for 3 1/2 - 4 years and I haven't experienced something like it in that way. We were clearly the dominant team, we created many chances, even top-class ones, but yeah, sometimes the ball just doesn't want to get in. Sometimes there are matches like that. Nevertheless we have created a lot of chances, which was very important for us, for the team, and like I said we'll turn things around at home.
  • Nobby: You played badly in Darmstadt and lost, you played excellently in Lisbon and lost. Which face will we see on Saturday?
  • Erik: Well, I hope the one we showed in Lisbon only this time we of course want to get 3 points, we want to win. It's important for us to continue our home run and yeah, we feel good. Of course Darmstadt was a slip-up. Unfortunately, sometimes there are such games where nothing works out and the opponents surpass themselves and that was the case in Darmstadt. But it's still our own fault as well. But I think in Lisbon we showed a reaction and I think we'll be at the top of our game against Wolfsburg. We had 4 days to take a break and...
  • Nobby: And the spirit/mood/morale is good?
  • Erik: Well, yeah after Darmstadt we all were dejected, Lisbon as well, but looking at how we played I think we can look forward to Saturday with confidence.
  • Nobby: That's what you have to keep in mind and if you play like that on Saturday we won't lose.
  • Erik: Definitely!
  • Nobby: You're up against Wolfsburg. You usually say you don't look at how the opponent is doing. But we should and have to do that: they have won 2 of their last 4 games and lost the other 2. How do you rate/judge the team at the moment?
  • Erik: It's difficult to say something about Wolfsburg. They definitely have improved during the second half of the season, they have played good games, sometimes it's a bit of a surprise/lucky bag but to be honest, I haven't watched a lot of Wolfsburg matches. I'd rather focus on our team so I think if we follow through like we want to and if we play like on Tuesday against Lisbon we will win and we don't have to talk a lot about the others, just about us and then things will work out.
  • Nobby: Erik, you're free of injuries, you're a regular in the starting XI. Apart from the two losses how much do you enjoy your current situation?
  • Erik: Of course I enjoy it a lot. It's important for every player to be free of injuries and get playing time. I get that at the moment so I'm very happy but as I said my health is currently still my main focus.
  • Nobby: (touches Erik's knee) Is everything alright?
  • Erik: Yes, everything's ok. (both laugh) And yeah our manager is satisfied with our current performance as well and of course I'm always very self-critical. Especially after Darmstadt I was very self-critical and wasn't satisfied with myself but nevertheless I'm fit, I'm healthy and I'm happy about every minute I get.
  • Nobby: Currently, you're playing in midfield as a winger. You played the same position in the U23. Do you feel comfortable there?
  • Erik: Well, the midfield postion is mainly an offensive part, I'm still also playing in the back five in the defense. We always shift around a bit which works pretty well. Obviously, Schmelle and I always have to run a lot but I think we both know how to do that. That's why this position fits us well and yeah, being involved at the front is always fun...
  • Nobby: You were a striker originally, weren't you?
  • Erik: I was originally playing as a 9 so not that much on the wings but-
  • Nobby: You know how to score goals
  • Erik: One can hardly imagine, yeah. (both laugh) I had some inhibitions when I played for the Dortmund amateurs, didn't quite work out with scoring but after that I've become a defender pretty quickly, thanks to Kloppo, but it's still a lot of fun to be able to make a difference in the offense.
  • Nobby: The Süd will be empty. That will be a weird picture for all of us, for you as well?
  • Erik: Yes definitely! I mean, the atmosphere here in our stadium is always awesome. The süd being behind us is quite impressive. Especially when we play at home they encourage us and spur us on immensely. Yeah... it's such a shame that the Süd won't be there on Saturday.
  • Nobby: When you score a goal you'll still celebrate toward the Süd...
  • Erik: Yes! (both laugh) Yeah, if I score a goal, which for me doesn't happen that often, I'll still celebrate of course.

okay I'm not trying to hate because I like your blog a lot and I hate seeing all the shitty anons you get, but "I've never met a therapist willing to engage with me on a philosophical level" makes it sound like you're letting intellectualism get in the way of mental health. A therapist's job isn't to tell you whether life is pointless. Like, emotion/behavior is their JOB. They aren't there for universe questions, they're their for YOU questions (ie are YOU ok with how YOU view the world)

Existential psychotherapy is very much an established thing and I’ve been reading about it. So like, yes, it is very much some people’s jobs to help you discuss whether your feelings about your existence are even relevant. It’s a little more complicated than “is life pointless? y/n”.

Ok so zarya arm wrestling challenge!!

-it’s a standing bet for everyone in overwatch that whoever can beat zarya in arm wrestling will have her treat them to whatever they want. (Food, shopping, theme park tickets whatever.)

-so far no one has been able to beat her.

- tracer was the first to jump on this and lost instantly. But keeps comming back.

-so anyways one lunch there’s a big commotion over pharah giving her first attempt at it. And there’s an actual stuggle that goes on for a solid five to nine minutes.

-basically a crowd forms around them in this time and screaming. And money bets.

-and Mei walks into the lunch hall after waking up from another random nap. She asks mercy what’s going on and she explains the whole bet thing.

-which is exactly when pharah loses and everyone cries out in agony since it’s just another win for zarya.

-who ends up saying some pride filled shit like “try again next time. Anyone else care to offer a challenge?!”

-and everyone there has already lost or knows that they would .

-and then mei just kind of calls out. “I’ll give it a go!”

-everyone turns to her like. Wtf seriously? Zarya’ll destroy you!

-she sits down at the table setting her stuff to the side and rolling up her sleeves like she means serious business and zarya be like what an adorable puff ball!

-zarya says some flirtatious bullshit like “I’ll go easy on you."or "a lovely girl like you should pick her battles more carefully. Do you really think you can win?”

-and Mei replies with adorable honesty “well I won’t know unless I try.”

-Zarya respects that and is a little flustered and Mei grabs her hand and a little turns into a lottle and she starts to get nervous and tries to avoid looking at mei.

-tracer shouts out go and Mei slams zarya hand into the table At the word.

-ther is silence for like 2 seconds and everyone just starts shouting and screaming and wtf ING and just chaos ensues

-mercy and tracer congratulate mei and tracer demands the knowledge on how mei got her arms so buff.

-zaryas’ just sitting in a humiliated mess cuz she can’t believe she let herself get distracted enough to lose something so simple. But then she looks at mei who is blushing from all the attention and shit is she gay.

-she also sees pharah to the side who just gives a knowing look.

-she anyways zaryas like ok. Okay. You sneaky little snowflake. What do you want me to treat you to?

-everyone’s like oh ya!!! And start throwing suggestions willy nilly cuz mei didn’t think this far ahead.

-“well how about lunch?” Which is the only thing she can come up with. And that’s the story about how mei got her first date with zarya.

The end.

anonymous asked:

hey! So, I'm writing my first mchanzo fic, and I've been nervous about the characterization. you've always been a huge inspiration, and my favorite mchanzo writer since I found out about the ship, do you have any tips on characterization?

okay well first off: AWWWWW THANK YOU THAT’S LIKE THE SWEETEST THING ANYONE’S EVER SAID LJSDFLJKSD

okay so, I guess I’ll sort of start with how I view the characters?

Hanzo I see as … a very anxious, self-critical, self-hating sort of person, right underneath. I think he’s always been that way, but a lot of it compounded after Genji. He carries that guilt with him. He is also much more emotional than he lets on, but forcefully puts it away to protect himself. It’s the kind of thing to come out in outbursts, whether he’s happy or angry or depressed. He is not a bad or necessarily hateful person to others, but prickly. He can be unapproachable because he values silence, or because he tends to sound very … intellectual? Often snobbish, without meaning to be. It’s key to note, though, that while he might be cool or unfriendly, he is not a bully.

McCree, on the other hand, is generally a laid-back dude. He has his demons, sure, but those are for handling by himself. With alcohol. Somewhere else. He likes people and is good at superficially bonding with them. Whether or not he’s good at deeper bonds is more up in the air, but he can make friends. And he values those real friends he does make, because he’s been betrayed, he’s been alone, and he’s lost many people. He is generally easy-going and might play into the idea that he’s kinda goofy or average, but he is absolutely not stupid, and is very astute regarding people and his surroundings. That’s part of why he did so well in Blackwatch.

So I guess when writing them overall?

Hanzo:

  • stiff manner of speaking, partially due to English as a second language, more likely  an intellect thing; limit use of contractions, pick words you might normally not, but don’t venture into SAT Vocabulary territory
  • sometimes difficult to talk to, but not because he’s outright nasty unless he’s in A Mood™
  • can generally be plied into conversation with the right topic, patience, and a little bit of charm
  • bottles everything up. like constantly. that boy is one shot of good liquor away from an outburst at most times
  • prides himself in his fighting because that’s all he has left, and the one thing he knows he’s always been good at
  • uses discipline in life as a coping mechanism: exercise, morning routines, a sense of self-reliance all are important to him both personally and to keep himself sane
  • Self-Denial for miiiiiiles
  • can be volatile despite projecting calm; more likely to act out if pressed

McCree:

  • very relaxed way of speaking, peppered with those “ain’ts” and “y’alls” and a little bit of different grammar; careful not to overdo it, though, and if you drop any ending gs like “takin’” instead of “taking,” try to show it sparingly; the reader will confer his accent most of the time
  • usually pleasant to talk to, will maintain a chat with anyone, likes his friends
  • also bottles things up, but is much more low-key about it; more prone to nightmares than Hanzo, is more depressed than anxious where Hanzo is the opposite
  • is very likely a high-functioning alcoholic
  • usually pretty honest, with himself and others
  • mostly self-assured, but isn’t cocky unless he’s playing around
  • more patient than you’d think; is reactive rather than someone who acts out (think: waits for Hanzo to throw the first punch, waits for someone to approach him rather than vice-versa)

I wrote a novel, sorry ;; But I hope this helps!

A lot of it, too, is just getting in there and getting cozy with the characters over time. I struggled hard with McCree when I started writing, but eventually I settled more into his personality and his speech and it’s almost as straightforward as Hanzo. I believe in you!

I've been thinking about shutting down this blog

I’ve been thinking and wondering about a lot of things. On Twitter you see some story board artists *ahem* Sabrina Cotungo *ahem* going after other tumblr users for what equates to illegal images. I’ve personally never seen said user go anywhere near anything inappropriate, but that does not mean that it isn’t there. They mentioned older age starco fans are creepy.

What I’m curious about is this: if you’re not in the show’s intended demographic yet you like it are you a creep? Nothing has ever really been said about it on twitter by other staff members, but lord knows none of us want to be thought of as creeps!

Are we creeps? We like the shows, watch them, buy items to help support the artists, and some even cosplay. Heck, the Nostalgia Critic is a fan of gravity falls! Is he a creep? But if it’s not affecting your life and the most geeky thing you’re doing is posting here on tumblr, would that warrant us to be called creeps or other derogatory terms?

Anyway I’m thinking of changing this blog and possibly even suspending it.

Your thoughts?
