can we talk about LOUIS TOMLINSON the kid who failed his a levels the first time, the kid who was told by his teachers he would never amount to anything, the kid who got fired from every job, the kid who never took anything seriously because he was too afraid to fail, singing so sweetly and earnestly, “I think I’m gonna win this time” and “I won’t give up this time” and “I change my luck”
Niall: The Gym/Health teacher that wears sweats every day. He is definitely coaching at least two sports so he’s always called Coach Horan. He loves the gym half of his job and hates the health half, spending most of the six weeks barely opening the book and instead talking his favorite team’s record. The final is always open book, open note, open discussion. And every girl has a crush on him, including half the faculty, which is how he gets away with most everything.
Harry: The Art teacher who wears the most ridiculous shirts on a daily basis and if you catch him anywhere outside of school most of the buttons are undone. He has a wide variety of head scarves and an affinity for interesting footwear. He fawns over every student’s artwork, giving out praise where it is due and instruction where it is needed. Also a favorite among the students. He most likely tells them to call him Harry.
Liam: He’s the coach that is forced to also teach a class. Most likely it’s history or drama or a social studies. Everyone wants to take his class because you always do nothing. There are a lot of movies and a lot of group projects. (That never make any sense) There’s somehow a field trip with his class and it doesn’t go along with anything you’re learning. And everyone calls him Coach Payne.
Louis: The English teacher that everyone loves/hates. His class is hard. Really hard. But the best class ever. You will read a shit ton of books and write crazy essays about weird themes. SYMBOLISM IS EVERYWHERE. He drinks from a water bottle that says “Students Tears” across it. He will threaten to adopt you and sell you or toss you out the window when you annoy him. He is the teacher that you will miss most after graduation. And the one you go back to visit because he always looked out for you. He’s probably Doc Tomlinson to everyone.
Zayn: That one teacher that was there at the beginning of the year and then had a mental breakdown and had to quit. Now he teaches at some liberal arts school that gives him the freedom to teach how he wants to teach.
okay but the most important thing about one direction’s queer songs is the lack of tragedy and the absolute certainty that there’s nothing wrong with feeling the way you feel or being the way you are. there are so many encouraging bits in each song (”it’s alright”/”we’ll be alright”, “i’m not scared”, “you love who you love”) that not only relate to the one specific relationship these songs revolve around but also speak to the broader queer audience and i’m so so grateful and appreciative of the fact that louis values positive queer readings
Just a quick reminder that this process isn’t for us.
It’s not supposed to be interesting to us or fun for us. This process isn’t for the fans - this process is for the public, and also through that, for Louis as well.
Everything is a blip in the public. People who read tabloids know not everything is accurate. But what won’t be a blip is that the name Louis Tomlinson is actually a name they can associate with a face.
I know this is boring and sometimes yucky, but no matter how the rest of the break goes, we will have Louis and the other boys back in June, and Louis will have his name known likely in both the U.S. and UK, and perhaps throughout most parts of the world.
nah what people don’t get is, louis might have received criticism in terms of his voice in the media, but he’s got A LOT of fans and support within the fandom, whereas liam is under appreciated outside and INSIDE the fandom. that’s the difference and that’s why i want for liam to have the recognition, because he’s constantly thrown under the bus, even by his own ‘fans’.
Honestly it doesn’t matter how shitty things in this fandom are, as soon as Harry and Louis get on stage and act like literal sunshine, it’s like I’m a happy flower outside soaking up the rays and nothing else really matters.
