i'm really bored idk what this is

2017 Phan

I like how the phandom has decided that 2017 is the year Dan and Phil will come out, move and get a dog (also possibly get married but like honestly isn’t that supposed to happen in 2022?). And whenever Dan and Phil say they’ll do anything (upload a video, do a joint lveshow etc) we get really excited and we’re like ‘YES, this is IT, guys. They are coming out as a couple. They are anouncing that they got a puppy, they got engaged and that they will soon move. I know it. I just KNOW it. I CAN FEEL IT!’. And then it ends up being just another pleasant, domestic, funny video and we just stand there like ‘wut’ for a bit and then we find a new thing to scream about (eg THEY WERE NOT WEARING ANY PANTS)

Hi! I'm a nt singlet trying to learn about neurodivergence (and systems) so I can be a better ally. If you don't mind me asking, what do you think I should know about bpd (and anything else you have, because a lot of people seem to have multiple diagnoses)? Like the basics of what it is, how I can be an ally, and how I can be a good friend if I meet a borderline irl? I hope this wasn't invasive or rude, also feel free to correct my terminology because I'm really new to all this ❤

do my eyes deceive me??? a nice neurotypical in my ask box??? of course i will help u….(besides im bored and have nothing better to do)

firstly, being in a system is neurodivergent. you sort of separated the two, idk if u meant to do that.

i think u what should know is that borderlines are people too. people love to condemn us and say we’re manipulative, abusive. in reality, a lot of borderlines have high empathy for others (to the point where it hurts us if we see someone else in pain). we’re not bad people by default.

even doctors and psychiatrists call us abusive and manipulative. the belief actually comes from them. back when bpd was first coined as a disorder, it was seen as “the borderline between psychosis and non-psychosis” hence the name borderline. doctors back then couldn’t understand why borderlines kept ending up back at hospitals treatment after treatment, how we were so driven by emotion, why regular therapy would not work. they concluded that borderlines were manipulative, sought attention, and were on the borderline of psychosis and non-psychosis, deeming us “hard to deal with.”

ive heard so many stories about borderlines being treated extremely negatively back then, to the point where doctors and psychiatrists would give up on their cases, tell them they were unfixable and manipulative. if they wanted help, they wouldve worked for it by now.

thing is, borderlines don’t respond to cbt/talk therapy. psychiatrists failed to see that we weren’t failing on purpose. their treatment was not up to par. from the cbt i’ve worked with, ive noticed that cbt assumes one has a stable identity and is always aware of themselves. borderlines are not.

dbt was created by marsha linehan. dialectical behavior therapy was made specifically for borderlines. it combines elements of cbt, behavioral science, and zen buddhism. and serious…this stuff is amazing. it works. dbt is split up into four modules: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and emotional regulation.

mindfulness is the teaching of always constantly checking if youre in the present. it is by far the hardest module to master, but it’s extremely rewarding once you understand it.

interpersonal effectiveness is on interpersonal relationships. y’know, because abandonment.

distress tolerance teaches you what to do in a crisis. and it isn’t cbt crap docs hand you and expect you to master in a day. whereas cbt tells you “just breathe, count to ten” when you’re distressed, distress tolerance teaches you three steps: distract, relax, and cope. distract yourself from the situation, relax using your five senses, and cope with the situation by weighing the pros and cons. i use this nearly everyday.

emotional regulation teaches you to do the opposite of what your negative emotions tell you. it teaches you that you are more than your emotions. while you may not be able to control them, you can certainly stop the snowball effect of emotions that trigger thoughts, which then trigger more complex emotions, and more complex thoughts, and so forth.

being a good borderline ally is simple: dont spread needless hate about our disorder, don’t infiltrate our spaces, and advocate for fair treatment.

if you meet a borderline in real life and you are even just a smidgen nice to them, congratulations: that borderline is your new friend. also in retrospect, don’t be mean to them. they will hate you very much.

if you ever become the fp of a borderline, always try to be there for them when they need you. encourage them to talk to you about their emotions. some borderlines are quiet and won’t talk about their negative emotions, even if it hurts.

also, they are constantly afraid of you abandoning them, it is a constant fear. reassure them as often as you can that you do not have plans to. also, don’t ever tell them they’re a handful, or “a lot,” even in a joking manner. they most likely have heard so many borderlines like them being called “abusive” and will wonder if “they are too,” because of their emotions.

well, that’s what i have to say. i might do another thing like this on systems. maybe. depends.

Keith: You got the stuff I want?

Hunk: Yeah, I got you. *passes Keith lactose free milk*

Keith: What is this mess?!

Hunk: But you’re lactose in-

Keith: I know what I’m getting myself into! Now give it!

Hunk:*sighs, gives Keith regular milk* What’d Lance do this time?

Keith: He smiled. *starts chugging milk*

I was reading the supposed leaked spoilers, and i think it makes sense for Clake to die, i obviously don't want her to, but if they're going for the exact same conclusion again where she pulls a lever and closes the ark and a lot of people have to die or be sacrificed i think it's crucial for the storytelling that she sacrifices herself with them, because otherwise this show is the same again and again, idk how the show could survive without her though, it's gone downhill as it is

Okay, well, I wasn’t going to really write the theories I have about s4, but I'm bored this Sunday afternoon, so here is what I think COULD happen (if you read previous theory blurbs I have written…it basically is a continuation of that.) Of course, take all what I’m saying with a grain of salt and this is what I see “could happen” with some of the things i have seen and if I was writing the story and trying to salvage it.

Also, I think the script leaks are hella misleading if you look at them closely. It says, “As she steadies herself on the desk, consciousness fading, we get our first look at her face: IT’S COVERED IN LESIONS, a mask of puss and death. We’ve seen this horrific look before: IN ABBY’s VISION. She stands there for another moment, fighting, fighting, before collapsing in a heap. Unconscious. Or worse. No sign of life. Dying on a dying planet.”  It just says that Clarke has collapsed to the ground and is dying.  However, there are six acts in television and it is possible that she is able to survive by being saved by someone that finds her in the lab. Because, like you said, I don’t see them even THINKing about getting a season 5 without Clarke. Jason has said before that this is basically Clarke’s story and unless Eliza asked to leave the show, killing her off would REALLY make zero sense. However, I had the same thought about them not killing Lexa off and they did so….yeah. But yeah I agree that Clarke’s story should end with her sacrificing herself to save her people.

I think it might end with there being Mountain Men, Grounders, and people living in space again at the end of the season. I believe we will have people living in the bunker that is on Becca’s Island (i think it is a bunker), Nightbloods will be able to survive the increased radiation levels and will be ‘the grounders’, and then the 6-7 people we see in the leaked script will be the ones living in space and possibly they will find out that they aren’t the only ones in space.

OMG I CANT BELIEVE YOUR MAFIA AU SAVED MY LIFE since you're the ultimate AU master, can I ask you something? I'm planning on doing an art AU for yoi, but idk if i SHOULD change some things (like, not being just like the anime but in another atmosphere) so it's not boring and predictable... idk if you understand but I'm basically asking if it's better if i change some facts or things like that or if i should just stick with the original story but in another universe (confusing sorry)

And oh my gosh, I would hardly call myself the AU master, but the title is flattering X3
And ah!
It’s really up to personal preference on that :D
I know a lot of people like to keep the characters with the same personalities and what not o3o
But, aside from that, straying from the canon is generally expected I think :D
And even with personalities, people take liberties with that, and it’s totally fine P:
Just do what you want to do ^w^
Enjoy yourself~

It's really sad what I'm abput to say, but... I had to start watching PLL all over again bc this season is so boring, idk, I just don't feel the same way about pll than I used to. It's not the same mystery or the same feeling. I'm not afraid of A.D like I used to be of -A. The drama it's not the same, even Ezria is turning boring. Idk I just needed to tell someone this, and maybe you feel the same way(?) Anyways, I love your blog.

You’re definitely in the majority, I’m in the minority when I say this is my favourite season.

I feel like a lot of people love the earlier seasons so much just because the show was so new and so fresh. As a fact, A is more dangerous now. Impregnations, kidnappings, turning Aria against her best friends, etc. The more mature storylines now just do not compare to the “high school cliche drama” of earlier seasons like Hanna stopping her dad’s wedding and Ella receiving a ticket to the Art exhibition Ezria went to. It’s a fact that AD is more dangerous than Mona when she was A. Heck, even Charlotte, as she built a dollhouse. Yet, so many people prefer the show back when Mona was A. I think that’s because we were all younger (literally, 7 years ago is a long long time ago) and we were all excited by the concept of a new TV show with a gripping storyline. We will take anything!!! The show started off as a high school drama where the queen bee goes missing - we couldn’t possibly expect a dollhouse and impregnations back then. We would take ANY form of mystery. And little did we know, that whatever we got back then, would soon become the SUPER HIGH end of the benchmark that we will use to judge future episodes.

I think that now that the show has gone on for so long and the stakes are higher, we don’t really care about heightened stakes. In my opinion, the show IS better, but most people don’t care that the show is better, because it’s DIFFERENT to “what I first fell in love with”.

Again, I feel like it’s a fact, not opinion, that AD is more dangerous than previous A’s. Yet we prefer the softer A. And so in summary, I feel like we keep saying we love the previous seasons ONLY because we were younger back then, we were in a much more positive space and right now in season 7 we are currently chasing that original high we got with a brand new show. We keep on comparing the newer seasons to “good old season 1” and because we’ll never get a perfect comparison, we keep feeling let down. But in reality, the comparison is that season 7 is better - but because it’s not the SAME as season 1, we don’t recognise that.

I feel like not caring about current storylines is merely a matter of franchise fatigue (which is totally normal after 7 years!), and not a matter of storylines not being of high quality. But that’s all just my opinion, obviously this can all be so wrong. Who am I, to say “this IS how the minds of PLL fans work”. Just my feelings on the whole situation because I see this everyday! 💙
