i'm just tagging things so people will see it

Am I the only one that doesn’t care at all that Mon El said that he loved Kara before Sanvers have said it? Like the relationship between Kara and Mon El is messy and lacks development, so I’m not surprised that he said that he loved her so quickly. In all honesty he may not even truly love her, she’s just the first person he’s truly been attached to and not a hook up, which he was doing on Daxam.

BUT Sanvers has been developed and I’m just waiting for that special moment that they actually say it. Not some type of “I’m saying this cause I don’t want to lose you bullshit,” but they say it cause it’s true. Cause they truly can’t live without one another and love each other, ride or die. When they do say it, it will be impactful and not easily forgotten like Mon El’s confession.

Friendly reminder that Klaus’ letter was preceded by “that is the beginning of another story”, which is meant to highlight key components in the letter, such as Klaus wanting to thank Caroline in person. This suggests that they do eventually meet up, and that their meeting is not a mere fleeting chapter in their lives.

This isn’t a nod to their friendship. They’ve never been just friends. This is a promise of a romantic future.

There is no doubt in my mind that if Caroline and Klaus were to ever reunite (and according to the finale they do) that Klaus would want something romantic from her. And if you believe otherwise, you’re kidding yourself.

However long it takes is a throwback to a romantic scene. A romantic scene that suggests a promise of a romantic future between the characters. This isn’t mere banter between friends. Because Caroline has never been just a friend to Klaus. It’s a promise of a romantic future.

“that is the beginning of another story”
“however long it takes”

Eventually this story will be realized. And it isn’t a story about friendship.

Um… do like Billy haters realize that they’re being actually even worse then the character they hate so much? They’re literally sending hate messages and tell innocent people to kill themselves over a FICTIONAL character?? (no jokes here, I saw it myself). Like are you for real?

Seriously, this needs to stop! If you get so angry over a fictional character, and can’t get over it, why in the first place you’re looking through the tag of this character and then go and send hate messages to people who actually like him?? This’s literal bylling, do you realize that? Just stay aside, no one forces you to like him. But what you’re doing here is in a whole different level, cause this’s fucking real! You can’t just go and tell people to kill themselves! And you’re thinking that we’re so bad for simply liking a character, when in fact it’s the other way around.

STOP bullying and harrasing real people, please! (Billy haters, you’re the worst, I swear to god).

I’m beginning to think only, like, 70% of the reason I love Shidge is because they’re my two favs and they would be so so sweet together it would rot your teeth. The other 30% is just spite. Pure “Fuck you, I do what I want” spite that rose from the ashes of people denouncing Shidge after the age reveal last year. Honestly I think that fits both Shiro and Pidge pretty well and I believe that it’s a beautiful shipper origin story.

I’m stealthy, like a ninja. | for @burnhamsmichael

Even if you don’t do art, gifsets, edit videos and photos, write fanfics, you are important and fandom wouldn’t exist without you.

That also doesn’t mean that you’re not an artistic type of person.

There are two types of artistic personality:

a creator, who writes, paints, draw, do videos etc.

and a consumer.

The person, who sees art, for whom it’s made. Without them it wouldn’t matter, because there would be nobody to see the creation. It’s one of the most important roles, but many people do it badly.

How to be a good recipient?

First of all, you need to give feedback. Every time you take time to see/read something. And it can’t be any feedback. It must be good.

Doesn’t matter if it’s a fanart, fic, video, poem or something else. Give kudos. Comment it. Even if you didn’t like it. Especially, if you didn’t like it. It takes only 30 seconds to write something and it shows the author that you saw their work and took time to think about it. It really motivates them.

What you should write?

Well, anything you want. “Great job, keep going!”, “I love the way you did it!”, “Wow, amazing work, I’d love to see more!” is enough. Really.

Of course, if you decide to say something more it’s great! Authors love to read your thoughts about their work. Tell them about the colours they used, how they match the scene and character, how they build the atmosphere with words, how you love the character development, the typhography they made. Tell them about everything that made you “wow, this is amazing”, about the piece that made you smile or cry or laugh or any reaction you had.

Tell them that you are waiting for sequel for this fic. That you can’t wait for the next fanart of this pairing. That you love seeing their work.

Thank them for it. I know that you know that they do it as a hobby, but thank them for spending their time anyway.

Reading this makes their day. And they’ll tell you that.

Okay, but what if you didn’t like it?

Then you have to write a comment anyway. Criticism is the most important for artist. Without it they can’t make progress.

Writing critique is harder than writing a positive feedback. You have to be precise here. The most important rule is:

like really

if you want to write something like that, then better don’t write anything.

You must add what you didn’t like, why, and how they can change that. Constructive criticism is the only one which matters. Otherwise you’ll make them not want to create anymore.

So how good criticism looks like?

“The colours you used don’t fit together. If you used warmer shade of red it would look better!”

“The main character of the story is too perfect, you should add them some flaws to make them more real. Perhaps something with their looks - too thin mouth or some scar? Their personality is also too mary sue. Try to give them some bad traits, maybe they can be blunt or a bit ignorant and listen to nobody’s advice?”

“The person you drew has anatomically incorrect legs - it looks like they don’t have knees. Try to work on it looking at some photos.”

The problem with criticism is that inexperienced artists often take it too personally, like an attack. Good solution is to tell them something nice.

“The scenere is beautiful, but…”
“I love how you write descriptions, but there’s something you need to work on…”

When you write comments it’s also important NOT TO DEMAND ANOTHER PIECE OF ART/CHAPTER/SEQUEL/WHATEVER

It makes them not wanting to contiune their work. So, yeah, encourage them, but not demand. “Is there any chance you’ll do it?”, “I can’t wait for more!”, “Please, continue this, I really want to know what happens next!”

What else you can do as a recipient?

Reblog. Not only like, but also reblog, so more people can see it. Don’t repost and if you have to ALWAYS GIVE CREDITS. And no, “source: tumblr” is not a credit (I feel like I should do another post about it)

Buy. I know all of us are broke, but many artists are really cheap (and that makes me sad). Just ask them to do something customized for you, like keychains or something like that. And pay them for it. Or just donate.

And remember

(feel free to add some things that I forgot and tell me all mistakes I made, it’s late and my brain is tired so I could use some wrong words but I tried)

GIRL I was just googling ‘kida atlantis’ for a rando reference pic and screamed because my own art came up in the first page of results!! Am I elite yet

carolnein-deactivated20170604  asked:

I've been here a good while, and I have to say it's refreshing to see the change in more people saying "I think this animal is uncomfortable" when tagging you, even if it's just arousal and not complete discomfort, rather than things like "The dog sees the seal as a weird dog that lives in water! It's safe and cute and not illegal!" I'm also seeing more and more mutuals presumably following you, and it's like *single tear* I'm so glad the word is spreading

I’ve really loved watching the shift in how tumblr thinks about animals because of this blog too. It’s great to see people work hard to be aware and think critically about what they encounter. Granted, sometimes people get overly worried, but it’s still good that they’re asking the questions if they’re not sure and then I get to be positive input for once!

I think we need to talk about fandom manners.

Lately i’ve seen a lot of people forgetting that this website is meant to be a safe space and a respectful space and sometimes people forget that.

  1. Respect. Respect that people have different ships, opinions, metas and ideas within fandoms. This means people are going to clash over certain things. If you don’t want to see these things blacklist, unfollow and avoid the tag. Don’t attack people for having opinions that differ from yours
  2. Be nice. If you see a post and you want to add your opinion or someone ventures into your ask and you want to disagree be nice about it. There’s no need to tell people they’re stupid or an idiot. It’s not nice. Just take a deep breathe and reply nicely. Pleases and thank you’s can go a long way.
  3. Open minded. People have different opinions. If one happens to cross your path try and see where they’re coming from. If you can’t see it don’t attack jest defend. Say you see the points they have made but in your opinion its not like that. Don’t waste your energy picking apart the argument because it will get you nowhere
  4. Friendly. If you are asking a question or answering one. Commenting on a post or seeing someone enter a fandom put on your best smile and politest attitude and be friendly. Nobody wants to see rude things on their dash or in their ask. The friendlier you are the better tumblr becomes.
  5. Don’t ship bash. Just because people ship different people doesn’t make them terrible people. `Everyone wants to keep on happily sailing so let them.
  6. Watch your tags. Ships, fandoms, asks, metas and fics. not only will it help people looking for things but it will also allow people to avoid things. If you see someone not tagging something ask politely.
  7. Anti-tag. If you are making a rant about the negative traits of a character don’t put it in the characters tags. There’s no need.
  8. Don’t steal. Do i need to explain this? Just don’t.

Honestly, I feel like this fandom is turning into something weird and crooked. I thought Skam was about understanding and respecting one another despite our differences.

I can’t stop thinking about ‘it’s quite surreal’, and 'amazing, yeah. This is incredible, isn’t it?’ Because that’s how Sam and Anthony were last year. And they lost it so fast because people are awful.

With Theo and Samuel we have two young men, at the start of their career, and I just think that as a fandom we should be respectful of them and not invasive or over-excitable or rude or any of the other countless things we could do to them.

They’re human beings, doing a job that should probably be the most amazing, fun job in the world. And it looks like they’re going to be spectacular at it. But can we remember that they are just that? Human beings doing a job. They’re not toys. They’re not play things. They’re not characters. They’re not for us to speculate over or ship. They’re people with lives and families and friendships.

So can we please be kind to them and show them we care about them and value them, and not drive them away and make them jaded? Let them have this amazing experience without us ruining it for them.

They’re so young. And they deserve to enjoy themselves and keep the wonder we saw in the video today. Is that so much to ask? Can people please be nice?

I didn’t see this process play out from the beginning last time, but I know it’s coming this time and it’s horrible. It’s beginning already, and I hate everything about it.

anonymous asked:

hi there amazing artist o/ I just wanted to know your opinion as the first artist I followed on Tumblr years ago. What do you think of artists who hate and block people for writing things they dislike on tags like tagging a name which is assumed generally as being a oc, or tag kin, other characters names, inspiration and so on. hope my English turned out understandable, not my first language and you are not upset about this ask I'm just curious ignore me if dislike it ok? thank you :)

Your English is great, don’t worry! I’m not the best at English either:”D

As for your question, I tend to think that everyone should do exactly what is best for them. Personally, I don’t find such a thing as blocking someone for a tag necessary, but there are people who want to stay away from something that brings them any negative connotations, so!

Not to mention there are different kinds of people. There are those who see something bad said about them, but they don’t want confrontation, yet want a way to..pay back? Blocking is such. There are those who ignore comments and tags like that. There are those who don’t even care, or those who care but might want to talk it out with the person directly.

Generally blocking is a good way to stay away from something you don’t like, so there’s a room for it, I guess. I block demanding or hating anons when there is such a necessity, but mostly I’m not as sensitive to do it with everyone who writes something I disagree with. Let people be, probably:3

Mirror of the Soul: Part 3 (Loki x Reader)

Note: Reader has the power to see people’s souls when they look in their eyes but doing so almost kills them. Please let me know what you think or if you want to be added to any tag lists!

Also, just saying, I have been this tired before and did spout some absolutely ridiculous things - I’m just glad it was to a friend who was equally as tired and thought everything I said made perfect sense!

You spent most of your time in the months that followed in Tony’s lab.

A few days after Tony had thrown biscuits around your room, the details of that moment had clicked in your brain. Somehow, you’d been able to meet your uncle’s eyes without any consequences. No pain at all. You’d not told him though. He didn’t need his judgement clouded by a fluke.

Whilst he seemed to be making progress - however painfully slow - you spent most of your days asleep on the small sofa in the corner of the room. For most of the experiments that your uncle ran you were actually rarely needed. He just sat talking to JARVIS, running hundreds of simulations.

When he did test his inventions on you, it was sadly never long before you ended up passed out on the floor or cradling your skull in pain. You’d had to limit the number of tests you performed as each failure had brought your heart closer to stopping. One disastrous attempt had ended with you blind to the world for an entire week. Despite this, you stayed by Tony’s side, always ready to give encouragement no matter how badly the tests went.

Occasionally, Bruce would join your uncle in his research but he never spoke to you. Not out of rudeness, of course. Aside from Tony, he was the only Avenger that seemed to understand the importance of leaving you alone. It didn’t mean he ignored you, though; every now and then he would throw screwed up pieces of paper your way with little messages scribbled across the pages. Your favourite messages were the ones were he complained about Tony. There were a lot of those.

The other Avengers still tried to engage you in conversation but, as bad as it made you feel, you’d started leaving the room whenever someone tried to talk to you. Contradictory as it may seem, around the Earth’s protectors you never felt safe. They were too kind, too caring. They made it too easy to forget how dangerous it was when you opened yourself up to the world.

"Y/N! Wake up!“ Tony said, jumping up and down like a kid high on sugar. Shaking you by the shoulders, he practically screamed at you to get off the comfy sofa.

"How long have I been asleep?” you grumbled, pulling the blanket over your head.

"About ten minutes. Now come on!“

Trust Tony to finish his 48 hour long stint just as you drifted off to sleep. With a deep, unappreciative groan, you threw your heavy legs off the sofa and forced yourself to sit up. Rubbing your eyes, the world around you still blurry, you told him, "This had better be worth it.”

"It will! I’m sure this will work.“ He dragged you over to his work bench and sat you on a tall stool. You had to lean back against the bench to stop your body from swaying in exhaustion.

"Right, put these on for me,” Tony ordered, handing you a pair of glasses. The frames were attached to hundreds of wires which, in his haste, Tony had managed to pull into a very impressive knot.

He tapped away on his computer and the lenses soon acquired a blue tint. Looking over his shoulder, Tony asked you to describe the technical readouts that appeared inside the lenses. You didn’t understand a word you were saying but suspected it was good news when Tony poured himself a celebratory drink. “Okay, I think they’re ready. Do you want to try them out?”

You nodded nervously, now completely awake. Anxiously lifting your gaze to your uncle’s eyes, you stared on in amazement. Clear as day, Tony sat before you - without a shimmer! You focused harder, searching for any sign of the yellow mist that usually surrounded him but could find nothing. For the first time in weeks, you felt a stupid grin tugging at your lips.

The sharp lines on his face softened and his brown eyes shone in the artificial daylight of the lab. The transformation was stunning; he looked ten years younger, smiling in a way he’d not done since you were a child. However, moments later, a crinkle appeared on his forehead and you were blinded by a bright flash of yellow.

"It’s not your fault, Tony. You’re getting there. This was a huge step forward! Y/N will understand. She knows that you are trying your best.“ Bruce’s soothing voice filled the lab and, even without opening your eyes, you knew that Tony would have visibly relaxed. "You’ll find an answer soon enough.”

"I feel like I’m failing her,“ he admitted and you felt your heart break into a thousand tiny pieces. "Nothing I’ve tried will work as a long term solution and every time I fail Y/N has to suffer.”

Bruce was so busy trying to console his friend that neither man noticed you slip out of the lab through the back stairs.

"JARVIS?“ you whispered as you made your way around the service corridors.

"What can I do for you, miss Stark?”

"Can you stop tracking me? I know Tony has you keeping an eye on me but I don’t want to be found. Not for a while, at least. I have to think.“

               "I can’t do that, miss.”

"JARVIS, please!“ you begged the AI. You actually liked him a lot, being able to converse with him about all manners of topics without the fear of making eye contact. It had taken you a while to get used to chatting to an empty room but you’d quickly gotten over it and now looked forward to your daily conversations.

You could practically hear the computer trying to come up with a solution and swore you could hear a smugness in the metallic voice when he told you, "There are sensor blind spots in some of these service corridors. If you happened to be in one such spot when I ran a scan for your location, I would not be able to pinpoint your position. It would take hours to manually search the building.”

"Thank you, JARVIS. Thank you so much,“ you murmured gratefully, heading off up the stairs. You found a small crook a few floors up, a tiny platform off the stairs with a window looking down on the city.

Lines of moving headlights flowed around the Tower like rivers of light. Occasionally you caught sight of bright bursts of colour, souls flaring up with emotion and calling out to you. It was too dark to see who the people were - and you were too high up anyway - but the busyness of the world below actually helped to calm your thoughts.

Hours passed and the sun soon began to shine. You were beyond tired; aside from your ten minute nap last night, and your brief stint of unconsciousness after the failed experiment, you’d not slept in almost 3 days. Even for you, surviving that length of time without rest was a stretch. However, the natural light kept you awake and you just drifted into a sort of trance.

"Nice place you’ve found,” a familiar voice drifted down the staircase.

You turned your head over your shoulder to face Loki and mustered a tired smile. “I needed to be alone.”

"I tried to visit you earlier. The AI said you’d left the lab so I went to your room but you weren’t there.“ A long silence stretched between you before Loki told you, "Everyone’s been trying to find you for hours.”

"Remind me to thank JARVIS again,“ you whispered, rubbing your temples. Lack of sleep combined with a severe bump on the head from hitting the floor of the lab earlier had left you with a splitting headache. "Are you going to tell them you found me? Want to be the hero of the hour?”

Loki shot you a dark look that managed to perfectly convey his feelings on the matter. “No need. They’ll find you soon enough.”

"You’re a good person, Loki.“ The world suddenly seemed to be at a strange angle but you realised after a long moment of confusion that that was because you’d slumped to the ground, your body no longer able to hold itself up straight.

Looking up at the god, who had moved down a few more steps to keep an eye on you, you muttered, "I think I’m very sleepy. Wouldn’t it be cool if the sky was purple? I love purple. There isn’t enough of it. Or stars. They’re only there for a few hours then poof. All gone. Wait. Not gone. Just hidden. It’d be so cool to be invisible.”

"I’d say you’re probably right,“ he agreed, although you couldn’t be sure which of your statements the god was actually agree with. "I’d also say you are remarkably adorable when you’re tired.”

"You know what else is adorable?“ you asked as you pushed against the concrete wall, twisting your body into another strange - yet surprisingly comfortable - position. "Tigers. They look all cute and fluffy but they’d bite off your hand in a second. I like that.”

"Is that so?“ Loki asked, leaning forward on his knees. His eyes crinkled around the edges as he smiled, clearly amused by your exhausted ramblings.

"You’re a bit like a tiger. Cute on the outside and all dangerous on the inside. Or maybe it’s the other way around… All dark and murder-y on the outside but soft and sweet inside. Like… Like whatever animal that’s like,” you said, descending into hysterics. “Like a burnt cake!”

Loki raised his eyebrows, muttering something along the lines of, “cakes aren’t animals” before shuffling down the final few steps to reach you. He brought his head down to yours, which was now basically supporting the entire weight of your body as you twisted into a know to rival a professional contortionist. “Do you want me to tell you a new story?”

"I’m not a child,“ you said indignantly, collapsing into a heap. With a sigh, you stretched out across the step and looked up at Loki. "I’m sorry. I’d love to hear another story. Please?”

With a small smile, he began telling you about the time he and Thor had pretended to be the most beautiful goddess of all and her handmaiden in order to reclaim mjolnir after it’d had been stolen. “Of course, it was me that did all the work when it came to finding my brother’s hammer…”

"I bet you looked amazing in a dress,“ you yawned, unable to keep your eyes open any longer.

"You should have seen Thor,” Loki said fondly, absentmindedly tracing the edge of your jaw line with his fingers.

"I love your stories,“ you told him. At least, you thought you said it out loud. You might have just thought it instead. Dreams and reality were getting a lot harder to separate now.

"Tony! I’ve found her!” You heard a loud voice shouting somewhere nearby. It wasn’t smooth and silky like Loki’s. It was much higher. Much harder. Definitely a woman.

Rolling off your step, groaning as you hit the one below with a thus, you looked up and said dreamily, “Hey, Nat… You’re definitely a tiger.”

"Oh, Y/N.“ She swept you up in her arms and threw you over her shoulder, jogging down a few steps until she bumped into your uncle. "She’s fine, just delirious. Nothing that a good sleep won’t cure.”

Tony nodded, his face pale with worry. He let Natasha carry you back to your room before tucking you into bed - but not before getting JARVIS to double check the bump on your head from earlier. When the scans came back negative for a concussion, Tony grabbed a spare pillow from the end of your bed and made himself comfy on the floor.

You know what I love?

How an event can spark so much creativity in people. My dash is covered in pictures and gifs of the new emotes and attire for the holiday, quotes and stories attached to them, and it just makes me so happy to see how excited everyone is getting over it. Genuinely. People are going out of their comfort zone, taking screenshots with people they may have been too shy to do so with before, tagging them, and this is generating so much circulation that even new friendships are being built. Because of a holiday in a game. It’s just amazing and I’m eager to see what else these things can bring.

Guys this shouldn’t have to be said

but please please do not cross-tag otayuri/pliroy/etc content into the anti tags. not only for you to avoid future harrassment, but because there’s people on there that feel legitimately uncomfortable with the ship. it’s one thing to post on the anti tag to call out harmful stuff that antis are doing, but it’s another thing entirely to just continuously post ship content on there just to make them feel uncomfortable.

also, please tag appropriately all your nsfw stuff, there are people who only ship those ships in a more platonic way or that don’t want to see that stuff in general for personal reasons and they shouldn’t have to be faced with that kind of content unless they chose to.

i know some antis can be nasty but you gotta think of everyone who isn’t, fellow shippers included. please tag everything properly and help everyone have a better fandom experience.
