i'm done with this chapter

Things I've done/said while writing

• “Oh my God this is taking too long, just shut up and get to the fucking place already.”

• Forgets I have the power to make the characters get to the fucking place already

• Constantly checks word count to see if I’ve written as much or more than I had for the last chapter

• Opens doc and rereads to remember what I was planning to write and can never remember what I was planning to write

• Opens doc and immediately closes it

• Looks over already published chapters for inspiration and feel part of my soul die when I see it’s ridden with typos

• Dad: “What are you working on?” Me: “..A story?” Dad: “Oh! When do you plan on letting me read it?” Me: “I’m lying, I’m talking to a friend.”

• Panics after I’ve closed the doc without saving, forgetting that I use Google Docs

• Forgets how to spell the word ‘wet’

• “Can I say a character tied her hair into a ponytail? Are ponytails in fantasy settings still ponytails?”

• “Why can’t I just write this part already? I really want to write this part.”

• “How many times can I mention this story to my friends before I get them to read it or make them annoyed by it?”

• Looks up definition of a word several times just to make sure it means what I think it means

I think you’re putting me on a pedestal, and putting yourself way too down– That’s why you’d call me the sun. But I know you, dude. I know you’re actually awesomely talented. And I know that you’re actually a super fun, super sunny kid!

So, to put it using your words you’re even more amazing than any sun. The sun’d get outshone by you, man!! Guess what I’m trying to say is… Just be confident, Tamaki!!

Your name is… Suneater.

Title: “The Spooky Truth with Dr. Jones,” (½)

Summary: Emma Swan is a podcaster looking for a semi-interesting story. Dr. Killian Jones is a paranormal investigator who doesn’t believe in the paranormal. Emma Swan absolutely does not want to write this story—but it seems to be writing itself. A CS Black Tapes AU.

Notes: This delightful little AU was 100% inspired by The Black Tapes, a seriously awesome fictional horror podcast that you can listen to for free. Which you should. Right now. I’d like to thank and/or notify a # of awesome people who helped with this: @seastarved @zengoalie @ofshipsandswans @abbadons-little-witch @the-reason-to-sail-home @businesscasualprincess @swanandapirate (who also wrote a podcast AU, so if you like this, you should probably check it out). Also on Ao3.

+ Honestly, the worst thing about this job is the constant threat of, “You have a face too pretty for radio,” every time she has to conduct an interview with some bland fuck-boy that the country has suddenly decided is worth her time. If not for the occasionally tedious subject matter and overeager interviewees, it would be damn near perfect.

They’re not what Zevran was expecting.

The plan isn’t ruined, per se, but he was rather counting on them to be slightly less suspicious. Grey Wardens are heroes of legend, and people routinely called heroes are supposed to be giving and trusting. This lot clearly isn’t. The elf - Dalish, if he’s seeing correctly - and Qunari are just short of openly disdainful, trading eyerolls when they think no one can see. At least, he clearly sees the elf roll her eyes; the Qunari is on the far side and perhaps more mannerly than Zevran gives him credit for.

Perhaps only the human is a Grey Warden then. He certainly seems eager to assist the woman Zevran’s hired. His information is scare and outdated; it’s entirely possible the others could be tagalongs. That would be more fitting. Champions sometimes amass a following, and outlaw heroes have their own appeal. And if the Grey Warden is this blindly trusting, well, he certainly needs them.

That rather complicates things for him though. The two suspicious ones are scanning the horizon, shoulders tight, clearly expecting something. The massive dog - and Zevran’s not sure if he’s a Grey Warden or not, this being Ferelden - is scenting the air. They’re not going to make it to the wagon.

When Emma came around him this time, a chorus of professions of love tumbling from her lips, Julian didn’t hold back as he buried his head against her sweat-slicked neck and followed her into the place souls are bred and born and chosen. He knew with utter certainty that in any life, in any form, he’d choose her.
