Anthony Kiedis: At this time, I listen to
the Clash again, whose founder, Joe Strummer, died recently. Moreover, we
covered some chords of London Calling, one of their hits, in our shows, as a
tribute to this great band.
John Frusciante: Hendrix, the Beatles, the
Who, Buddy Holly, Led Zeppelin… Actually, old things!
Chad Smith: Britney Spears and Avril
Lavigne (he laughs)…no, I’m saying bullshit!
As which animal would you like to be reincarnated?
Anthony Kiedis: As a marine animal… The
grace and the mobility of the killer whale fascinates me, but I don’t know if I
would be able to kill the other fish.
i might end up writing a followup to this since i’m not sure yet how i feel about the ending, but i hope you like it!
It was a quiet winter’s night in Magnolia. A light snow fell on the street, illuminated a soft gold by the streetlamps and glittering in the moonlight. Juvia leaned her temple against the window and sighed, staring out into the night. Gray was supposed to have been home by now. She couldn’t think of what could possibly be holding him up; he’d called earlier that afternoon that the mission had gone completely according to schedule, so she was sure he wasn’t still in Crocus.
A train horn sounded in the distance and she sighed again. If the next train was leaving, then Gray would have had more than enough time to walk from the train station to their small apartment. Where was he? She closed her eyes, tired of watching the street and, as it turned out, just tired in general.
Juvia felt a hand on her shoulder and jerked awake, momentarily disoriented from being in the windowsill. She blinked the sleep from her eyes as they adjusted to the dark, and she could make out a figure next to her.
“Juvia?” Gray’s voice cut through the darkness. “Are you okay?”
“Where have you been, Gray? Juvia was worried about you,” she whispered.
He frowned and reached over to turn on the lamp on her bedside table. “I didn’t think it would take that long. I’m sorry.”
She blinked the last bits of sleep from her eyes. “What time is it?”
“It’s almost midnight,” he nervously rubbed at back of the neck and refused to look her in the eyes.
Juvia swung her legs off the windowsill. “What kept Gray so long?”
Given the chill in the room, he wouldn’t have been surprised if she felt his face flush before she saw it. “It’s, uh…”
He sighed deeply and knelt in front of her. “Damnit, I had this all planned out and now I don’t remember what to say.”
“It’s okay, Gray doesn’t have to say whatever it is –”
“No, I can do this,” he took a deep breath. “The reason I was home so late was this,” he reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a tiny velvet box. “I had to pick it up from the jeweler, but he was busy and he didn’t have it done yet, so I had to wait.” Gray looked up at Juvia, who still had a concerned and confused look on her face. Slowly, he opened the box to reveal a thin silver band inlaid with two small blue diamonds. He watched her eyes and mouth widen in surprise and tiny tear tracks form on her cheeks. “Marry me?”

Summary: An accident during a performance ends for Luke in blood and total retrograde amnesia; rendering his mind an empty slate that doesn’t know as much as his own first name. His band is left to help him reassemble the scattered pieces of his life, to coax his memories back, and to deal with the fallout when the most important thing is the one thing Luke can’t remember.
