I'm returning to a summer job this summer and I have a 2nd job now too. Both jobs have varying schedules. Job #2 schedules several weeks ahead. So should I tell my boss at job #1 when I can't work in advance before she creates the schedules or will that seem like I'm blowing off the job and being too demanding?
The earlier you can tell your boss about your other hours, the better. This helps them with scheduling so you don’t need to switch things around or constantly try to find someone to cover your shifts. If your boss is kind and is cool with you having a second job, they will appreciate the notice.
