in terms of this interview before you start attacking cory and hurling abuse at him please remember the following things:
yes he might have some say in ed’s storyline, but at the end of the day it’s up to the writers and the people who run the show. they don’t necessarily deserve abuse either, but any disappointment would be better served sent to them above anyone else. send it to cory too, but be polite, being polite about it ensures that he’ll most likely bring it up to the people in charge, the people who can actually do something.
cory is unfortunately under this strain of knowing what happens but not being allowed to give spoilers. we have no idea what could happen to his position if he were to reveal too much. sure they probably won’t kill ed off, but they could easily cut down cory’s hours or have him transform into the riddler and be played by someone else. it’s gotham, anything can happen. and even if this doesn’t happen, he’s a nice person who usually don’t like spoiling things for fans because he’d much rather they watch the show.
he’s a human fucking being, I shouldn’t even have to say that. it’s one interview and those things are always taken out of context, plus, I’m sure you’ve been asked a question before in your life and realised later your answer was maybe phrased wrong or was missing some important details. my point is we have no real idea at this point, maybe he did mean absolutely everything he said and it’s all in perfect context. there’s still a ton of episodes to go this season, and cory has to try and jumble the information in his head to make out like he doesn’t know which way any of the storylines are going to go.
sometimes there are things that have multiple meanings, I’m not talking about any particular point in the interview, however, we have a long way to go this season, there’s still room for things to change and grow. sure it might mean waiting a while, but hey ho. maybe everything in the interview can be taken as fact, however we really have no idea. cory is most likely just giving us the information he’s allowed to or feels isn’t a spoiler or violation of any contract he has.
I know fandoms are used to getting burned by writers/creators, especially when it comes to LGBT characters/ships, and absolutely express your disappointment because they need to know, but do not hurl abuse, especially at cory who does not deserve it. he’s simply gets a script and plays a character, sure he might be able to make suggestions and change some things, but if it affects the overall storyline I highly doubt he’s going to be able to change every little detail.
and on another note cory has defended nygmobblepot as a ship so many times and has also defended oswald not being straight. it’s not like he himself is against the idea of the ship. it seems to me like he would absolutely be up for exploring the nygmobblepot relationship as more than just “bros.”
