i'll be making another one though ;)

there were a lot of references in the new video, did you catch them all? let’s take a look.

1. nils sjoberg

remember that time she wrote a song with calvin harris but used a different name? this is that name, on one of the gravestones. after releasing that she had actually written the summer hit “this is what you came for,” calvin harris, among others, threw a fit on twitter - even though it had been agreed that if calvin and taylor broke up, she could express that she had written the song.

2. the out of the woods dress

this blue dress probably looks familiar! it’s the same one she wore in the out of the woods music video, the last music video of the 1989 era. this poses the same frantic question, are we out of the woods yet? as this grave-digging taylor suggests, not yet.

3. here lies 2014 met gala taylor

at first glance, it just looks like the taylor from before laying there, but after pausing it and going back, one realizes that isn’t zombie taylor, rather 2014 met gala taylor. 2014 would have been the start of the 1989 era, and the out of the woods video was the end of it, thus: by the end of 1989 era, she was ready to “bury” it.

4. the dollar bill

if you look just next to taylor’s shoulder, you can see a good ole george washington. one single dollar bill. is this a reference to taylor’s sexual assault trial recently, and the one dollar she won then? most likely, because if you go to other shots of her in the tub that aren’t directly above her, the dollar bill isn’t there, meaning it was edited in later, which would explain how it got there so late in the game. it stands for the simple victories everyone else gets to celebrate, while she does the same things and gets flack for it.

5. et tu brute

a famous line from shakespeare’s julius caeser, “et tu, brute” means “and you, brute?” right as marcus brutus lands the fatal blow in julius caeser’s, his once-friend’s back. this is a metaphor for all the people that taylor thought she could trust, before they turned around and trashed her name.

6. the tea

probably pretty simple to grasp - the tea is hot. alternatively, she, the snake in the video, gets to serve the tea this time around, or, she gets to lay down her side of the story.

7. car crash + paparazzi

did you see what happened here, at face value? taylor was in an expensive vehicle that got in a head-on crash, but everyone just stood back and took pictures, instead of rushing over to help. is this a reference to all the times that everyone stood back, took pictures, and laughed at her when she was beaten down? yes.

8. the grammy

the grammy blends in with the gold of the car and her outfit, so it’s pretty easy to miss, but there it is, in her hand, even though the car crashed. perhaps the future is being predicted?

9. the birdcage + leg tattoo

look closely at taylor’s leg, and you can see what looks to be a snake tattooed there. not to mention, here she is entertaining in a birdcage, which is guarded. she’s trying to have fun in this prison, biting her tongue, being the girl everyone wants, but she longs to be let free.

10. robbing a bank/stream co., blind for love

besides getting major harley quinn vibes, what else do we notice here? taylor swift robbing a vault, which says “stream company.” remember that time that taylor wrote an open letter to apple music and called her money hungry, even though she was taking her music off to benefit poorer artists? yes, we do. this is what she’s referencing here. also, her shirt says “blind for love” which makes sense, because she frequently refers to herself as a hopeless romantic, someone who opens theirselves up for love, even if it means getting hurt.

11. the squad

without explaining anything else, this scene can be described as a crowd of blank faced people, staring at taylor swift, who stands upon a stage looking menacing, and impressing one message upon the crowd: u, squad. it’s reminiscent of all the times people said taylor swift was over, because her friends, fans, or sales were fake or temporary. this is like a visual representation of the comments people made about taylor forcing people to do things for her to create the image she desired.

12. fake friends

and here we have the mannequins of the girls from the prior scene, chopped up. this one is pretty straight forward, these “friends” that taylor thought she had sometimes turned out to be more fickle and “fake” than she thought. also, can we talk about how taylor’s red boots are reminiscent of kinky boots? because yes.

13. the dancers, i heart ts

before taylor enters the room, the dancers are goofing around, but the second she comes in, the jump to attention, and rip off their jackets to reveal shirts that say “i heart ts.” it’s a throwback to when tom hiddleston wore a shirt with the same message on the fourth of july in 2016, and everyone said that she had forced him to wear it. it’s the same thing as before with the squad - the world decided that she had forced all these people to love her, not that they actually did.

14. the fight for glory

every time you pause this video, you come across a different taylor. squirrel pajamas wanegbt taylor, 2015 bbma’s taylor, 2014 acm’s taylor, wanegbt red tour taylor, 2016 new years rockin’ eve taylor, sparkly guitar fearless tour taylor, bleachella taylor, ballerina shake it off taylor, 2016 vma’s taylor… the list goes on and on. here, you can see them all fighting and clawing, trying to stand on top. it reminds me of “i don’t like your kingdom keys, they once belonged to me,” and the parallels between long live and new romantics in that line alone. all those times, she thought she’d made it to a point in her career where she could be respected as much as other artists in her tier, only to harshly realize she was going to get her name ran through the mud for doing the same thing as everyone else. the fight for glory is steep, and unfair.

15. junior jewels

looks familiar right? not quite! it is the same theme of the shirt, but look closely at the signatures - they’re signatures of actual people this time around. names like ed, selena, este, lena, blake, and ryan, among others, can be seen on her shirt, representing the true friends that stuck with her through her reputation being bashed.

16. “SHUT UP!”

here, all the different versions of taylor are repeating things that the media or other celebrities had said about her, until finally 2009 vma’s taylor repeated the same thing that 2017 taylor said in an instagram post - “i’d very much like to be excluded from this narrative.” the entire time, you can hear camera shutters going off and people chatting, presumably the rest of the world watching as she got torn apart. when vma’s taylor makes this final statement, all the other taylor’s, as well as what sounds to be an entire off-screen crowd, yell “SHUT UP” before the screen goes black. this is a powerful image, and it’s supposed to be. all the times she suffered, and people told her that she was overreacting, faking it, or doing it for publicity. if you feel remorse for seeing young taylor getting yelled at, or sorrow for the taylors falling when she said “because she’s dead,” you’re doing it right.

nothing in this video was an accident.

if you’re angry at taylor for this video exposing things you said about her, or you’re repeating any of the words the versions of herself said at the end, you’re proving her point. her reputation was destroyed because people made a sport of making fun of her. and now, as taylor said, there will be no explanation, just reputation.

“I want to go home.”

A Spirited Away AU @sumyna (check out her TeruMob one!) and i have been thinking about… I’ve been calling it “The Lost Brothers and the Twin Dragons”. More about it + bigger picture of the brothers under the cut!

And on the one day I needed you, really needed you, you aren’t there. After days of complete torture and hurt, I expect to see you standing at my door, ready to make it better like you always do. But you weren’t. The blame can’t entirely be on you, though. I can’t say that. I surely had a lot more faith in you than I should have. So I will close the door and walk away, maybe we will meet again another day.

I don't know if you've already answered this or not, but during that scene in the last episode with Mikasa, what do you think was going through Eren's mind?

Everyone has a different point of view, but if you are going to send me messages trying to argue points of view with me or send me hate messages, do me a favor and please just don’t even bother.

A lot of things, anon.

  • That he wasn’t able to make a difference again.
  • That he was useless.
  • That they were all going to die because he couldn’t shift into a titan.
  • That he was unable to avenge his mother or save Hannes.
  • That his getting captured was the entire reason for all of the death happening around them.
  • That his friends betrayed humanity and he was unable to kill them.
  • That there are people who hold him very dear even though he doesn;t understand why.
  • That he needed to protect his friends for once instead of the other way around.
  • That one way or another, he needed to fight to make a difference, even if all he could do was throw a punch out of anger and frustration.

Loot came in! Plus a massively overdue post for the art included with the Bandai Namco Club version of the season 1 box set!

Top 2 pictures are, actually the artwork included for the ufotable version of the S1 boxset I found on auction.  Yes, they’re as gorgeous as you’d expect them to be (sorry for the glare but I really didn’t want to take them out of the protective plastic packaging) and I definitely love the water Armatus Sorey and Mikleo one.

The bottom four are actually the ones from the Bandai Namco Club version S1 BD box set (which is the one that had the limited edition OST album), which I’d gotten months ago (thanks @katanagasuki for the assist!) but never got around to opening, lol.  The artwork is printed on some really nice card stock paper, so it feels like each of them are hand drawn with watercolor/ink instead of printed.  Also, yes, Mikleo is drop dead gorgeous there as usual, and I actually really like that pose for Edna - makes her look so sweet and nice … and 100% not the Queen of Snark that she actually is in game, lol.  I would have included a picture of the gorgeous artwork by Shiramine in the booklet included in the boxset, but it was impossible for me to hold the book open and actually snap a picture on my phone - if only I had a third hand!

I still can’t decide which one I like more though, the Water Armatus Sorey/Mikleo one, or just Inomata’s Mikleo.

hello! i just found this blog and it's so amazing to see all the questions people have because then i don't feel so alone! but i haven't seen this question yet so my question is: can you go over the basic sentence structures for things? because sometimes i'll think i have it correct and then suddenly the words are switched around but then when i try /that/ method again, it goes back to the way i had first? like if i put verb before subject, then it says subject before verb? do i make any sense?

Thank you so much, love!! <3

I’ll try to cover the sentence structure in Norwegian main clauses (the post would probably get way too long if I tried to cover subordinate clauses as well, though I could do that in another post if you want! The main clause is definitely the most important/basic one though.)

( Also, do keep in mind that there are always exceptions in a language, so you might stumble across sentences that don’t follow these rules - though most sentences should. )

-

#1 - Essentials.

Like English, Norwegian is a SVO-language (though it can also act as a VSO-language in certain sentences, but more about that in #5)

To make a sentence in Norwegian you must have:

1 - A verb
2 - A subject (you can omit the subject if you’re ordering someone to do something (e.g. “Run!” or “Come here!”), but to make an actual sentence, you would need both).

This is enough to make very basic sentences, such as:

“Han går.” - “He walks.” / “He’s walking.”

“Jeg spiser.” - “I eat.” / “I’m eating.”

“Du ler.”“You laugh.” / “You’re laughing.”

*!!! - as you can probably see; in Norwegian there is no past progressive form, so sentences like “Han går” can be translated into both “He walks” and “He’s walking”.

-

#2 - Verbs.

- Verbs must be the second element in a regular main clause

- Verbs must be the second element in a question if it’s not a yes/no-question

- Verbs must be the first element in a question if it is a yes/no-question

*!!! - “element” is not the same as “word”. The subject could be “Mary and John”, but it’s still only one element.

Examples:

A regular main clause:

Jeg bor hjemme.” - “I live at home.”

“Han spiste fisk.” - “He ate fish.”

“De løp rundt.” “They ran around.”

A regular question:

Hvor bor du?”“Where do you live?”

“Hva spiser du?” - “What are you eating?”

“Hvem er det?” - “Who is that?”

A yes/no-question:

“Bor du her?” - “Do you live here?”

“Spiser du fisk?” - “Do you eat fish?”

“Er det deg?” - “Is that you?”

-

#3 - Subject.

- The subject is usually the first element

- If it’s not the first element, it will be the third element, directly after the verb (this can happen when an adverbial or object is the first element etc.)

- If the sentence has more than one verb and the subject is not the first element, the subject will be in between the verbs.

Examples:

Subject as the first element:

“Jeg liker iskrem.” I like ice cream.”

“Jeg liker iskrem nå.” - “I like ice cream now.”

Subject as the third element: (usually you would make a sentence like this if you want to put more stress on the object or adverbial (time/place/etc.))

“Nå liker jeg iskrem.” “Now I like ice cream.”

Two verbs + subject as the first element:

Jeg kan spise iskrem nå.” - “I can eat ice cream now.”

Two verbs + subject as the third element (subject between the verbs):

“Nå kan jeg spise iskrem.” - “Now I can eat ice cream.”

-

#4 - Negation.

- In a main clause the negation “ikke” will usually come directly after the verb.

- If the sentence has more than one verb, the negation will split the two.

- The subject can sometimes split the verb and “ikke” if it’s the third element of the main clause instead of the first

Examples:

“Jeg liker ikke brød.” “I don’t like bread.”

“Han snakker ikke mye.” - “He doesn’t talk much.”

Two verbs:

Han kan ikke lese.” - “He can’t read.”

“Jeg liker ikke å skrive.”“I don’t like to write.”

When the subject is the third element:

Nå lager han ikke mat.”“He’s not making food now.”

“Denne boken liker jeg ikke.” - “I don’t like this book.”

*!!! - be aware that the negation “ikke” comes before the verb if it’s a subordinate clause and not a main clause

-

#5 - Adverbial.

- Usually either the first or the very last element in a normal sentence.

Examples:

“Nå leser han.” - “Now he’s reading.”

“Han leser nå.” “He’s reading now.

*!!! - when an adverbial is the first element, the sentence can turn into an VSO-sentence instead of an SVO-sentence.

-

Like previously mentioned, there are always a lot of exceptions in a language, but this should at least be enough to make and understand basic sentences! c:

I needed a change of pace from OC October, and to take a breather in general… So here’s a little bit of fanart for SugarScript’s game, Cute Demon Crashers.

It’s a visual novel about a succubus and a few incubi who crash your house (hence the title) and stay for a few days. You can choose to have fun with any of them, none of them or all of them. Whatever you choose, the interactions are always positive. You can even opt out at almost any point of your intimate times if you’re uncomfortable. The whole point of the game is to promote safety, honesty, consent and comfort between partners. They also challenge stereotypes that people might have about certain aspects of sex.

The characters are all sweet and well thought out, on top of various other aspects of the game. The art is nice, the voices are excellent and they even included a dyslexic font.

If you have the time I’d definitely recommend giving it a play. Even if you’re not into porn games, it’s still fun and sweet and I’d totally recommend it. They took something that could have turned into just another fetish fuel game and turned it into a gem.

The world was on fire and no one could save me but you.
It’s strange what desire will make foolish people do.
I never dreamed that I’d meet somebody like you.
And I never dreamed that I’d lose somebody like you.

No, I don’t want to fall in love (This world is only gonna break your heart) [x]

Louis is Smol aka Harry's 'Little One'
  • Harry: Lou. Look how small you look in my arms! I practically had to scoop you up in that hug.
  • Louis: You're a filthy liar Harold.
  • Harry: Oh really? So why is everybody going crazy over the height difference again, huh?
  • Louis: They are not. You're lying. I'm 5'9! Bastards. I'M FOOKING 5'9!
  • Harry: Aw look at your little feet next to mine. You're just my baby, it's so obvious.
  • Louis: Shut your traitorous mouth right now before you find yourself short of one boyfriend.
  • Harry: "Short"...*giggle*...was that a pun?
  • Louis: That's it. You're sleeping on the couch.
  • Harry: Before or after you ask me to carry you to bed, little one?
  • Louis: Get out. I'm not in love with you. Taylor can have you.
  • Harry: Nope. She's not my type.
  • Louis: Yeah, yeah, I'm well aware of your fervent interest in cock.
  • Harry: Your cock. And no, I meant her height. I like 'em tiny and feisty...brunette, blue eyed little spitfires.
  • Louis: I'm sure Grindr would be happy to accommodate your 'needs.'
  • Harry: Nah. I have my eyes on one little spitfire in particular.
  • Louis: Maybe he's lost interest in you though?
  • Harry: I don't think so babe.
  • Louis: And why's that?
  • Harry: He's been secretly looking at rings for months now and he's going to ask my parents if he can marry me any day now.
  • Louis: You ruin everything.
  • Harry: Just so you know. When you do pop the question and we walk down that aisle and I make you mine forever, I will never let another soul tell me that you're anything but 5'9. Course I'll know the truth but I'm allowed to, I'm your husband.
  • Louis: Not yet cutie.
  • Harry: Better get your act together then Tomlinson.
  • Louis: I might just do that Styles.

Hi, a couple months ago I asked about mental illnesses and you were kind enough to welcome me into your fold. I have another question. We have a Student Disability Services at my college to provide accommodations for kids who need them, and one of my professors strongly urged me to apply for them. I don't know what they could do to make my life easier, though. Do you have any ideas? My therapist thinks I'll abuse them if I have them but I'm really close to losing my scholarship so I want to try

One of us, one of us! I’m glad you stuck around.

I couldn’t tell you about technicalities as in my country usually there aren’t Student Disability Services, but I can tell you that I don’t agree with your therapist and that you should take all the help that you can.

I’ve been in the exact situation several times because of my mental illness. Asking for help is worth it, it’s better than lying.

I have to admit that because of the stigma I wouldn’t disclose everything. Be discreet with what you say. Pick your words wisely.

And just so you know, my grades are recovering well, and so am I. Keep fighting.
