i'm sorry it took a while!

yes, i can stick magnets on my arm.

but i only do it for a good cause. the letters are magnetic. repainting the arm is too much work

steve decided he wanted to draw this because the last time i did something like this there wasn’t anything to prove it had happened. (last time i painted ‘die nazi scum’ on the side of a tank which id stolen from the nazis. the 40s were a wild time my friends)

(This is for sale on redbubble, both with and without the text and red circle. A black background version is under the cut, just because it looks cool.)

On your Instagram (where you post the layers of your drawings) there are often layers where the colors don’t match with the end result. For example in your work A New Path, there is a layer where the tree trunks are pink. What is that layer used for (ie what effect does it achieve)? Thank you for your time, I love your work!!

@shesweetlikecandyinmyveins said: hi! I wanted to say I seriously am infatuated by your artwork!! I aspire to have your same creativity and ethereal-like style! I had a question about your process, though: I recently followed your Instagram and I was wondering why you first block in your colors with such saturated tones? I have guesses but I’m curious about the possible benefits of coloring this way! Sorry if this has been asked before!

(disclaimer: this is not an art advice/tip, but just an explanation of how and why i do some things in my art process. though if you wish to take this as such, go ahead! just please be informed that ‘advising’ is not my intent here)

hi there! ✨ (thank youu so much to the both of you for liking my works ahh! i hope it’s alright if i combine both your asks into one bc it’s quite related. and psst if anyone’s curious, my instagram is @/_mienar)

that step/stage of my process is what i personally call ‘colour blocking’! it’s the stage where i fill in each item with different colours to separate into different layers (to paint them easier later using the ‘lock transparent pixels’ tool). so basically different colours = different layers.

left: colour blocking layer, right: re-coloured layer for my final colour palette

(a quick example; you can see some trunks being bright pink and some being dark pink, and those two colours means they’re two different layers. the reason why i don’t just make all tree trunks one layer is bc the background trees would intersect/are too close to the foreground trees, so combining both to be one layer will make it a hassle for me to differentiate between foreground and background later on when i paint.)

furthermore, there’s really no significance to the unusual colours used tbh, other than to not spend too much time on thinking about the colours for my final piece yet. i’m usually quite indecisive and am very picky about the colours i use, thus resulting in me spending wayyy too much time adjusting and re-colouring the base colours.

one of the traits i’ve developed for myself in my art processes is to not work, pause, then work, then pause again, because i realised that those small pauses take up a lot of time. i’ve personally grown to be someone who wants to get something done and fully completed without wasting much time.

(by ‘pause’ i mean by being distracted, thinking too much that it slows down my progress, etc.)

so to save time, i would just block in colours with random colours thoughtlessly (hence the weird outlandish colours), save the file, (and move the file from procreate to photoshop) and then later i’ll properly spend time to play around with the adjustments/re-colourings/layer modes to get the colours i want.

(in the past, i would block in colours, stop for a minute and had thought of a nicer colour palette, not being satisfied and re-colour every layer, but realising i’ve only made small progress in blocking colours, so i continued, but again thought of an even nicer colour palette, thus rinse and repeat, and by the time i’ll send my file to photoshop, i’ll change my mind and again re-colour everything, so it’s a really big deal at how much of my time was wasted.)

to conclude, this is just part of my process that i’ve developed on my own and has worked best for me! everyone is different in how they work and whatever works best to each their own is the most important! thank you so much for taking the time to ask me about this, and i hope i’ve explained it well! :)

tl;dr: WHAT is that strangely-coloured step for? to separate multiple items from each other into different layers (so that i can use the lock transparent tool in the photoshop to paint easier) WHY the random colours? it’s not related nor beneficial to the final colour palette, it’s just to not waste too much time thinking about which colour to pick, and to at least make progress with my work while i think of potential colour palettes to try out later.

i love you too dear anon this is for you

  • i’m not sure entirely how it would first go, but i imagine they’re laying around and keith is really intensely playing with lance’s fingers (like really intensely he looks like he’s trying to x-ray vision them u ok there buddy?)
    • and lance is just watching him and it hits him full force his heart literally starts aching and he just pulls his hand away
    • keith is confused for a second and kind of like :’( until lance cradles his jaw and says in a slightly trembling voice “can i kiss you right now?”
    • the answer is yes
  • they try to hide it for a while because they’re afraid it might mess up the team dynamic
    • except they try hiding it by not touching each other as much,, which is when they realize how much they were touching each other and they’re both like “how did we even go this long without realizing?”
    • shiro eventually asks if something is wrong between them because he notices they’re standing apart a lot (on a separate note have you noticed how often these two are standing next to each other in canon it’s like they’re drawn to each other i’m fjdsal;k)
    • keith, smooth as ever, just blurts out “I KISSED HIM”
    • shiro is a little surprised but he just smiles softly and is like “that’s great, keith. i already thought you had, though?”
    • keith: did EVERYONE know except us???
  • they’re teenagers you know,, so they’re always all over each other
    • keith’s hair is literally always a mess
    • sometimes it’s braided but it half falls apart because lance can’t stop running his hands through his hair when they’re kissing
    • keith, mumbling into lance’s mouth: you’re ruining your work
    • lance: worth it
    • someone knocks on the door once and they scramble to put their shirts on and open it like “hey, nothing interesting happening here!” except,, they’re wearing the wrong shirts,, a mess
    • or,, hunk, peering at keith’s neck very closely: dude, what are those purple marks? are you ok? they look like bruises?
    • keith, flustered and tugging at his collar: NOTHING IT S NOTHING just my… galra genes!!! yeah!! my galra-ness kicking in!! you know how it is!!
  • lance unabashedly flirting over the coms
  • they’re literally so sappy and cheesy all the time. they’re that couple that has an entire conversation using eye contact and forgets to explain what’s going on to the rest of the team
  • lance pretty much moves in keith’s bedroom. keith pretty much steals all his shirts and doesn’t have to feel guilty about it anymore (he had like 5 already and when lance finds them he won’t leave him alone about it)
  • thank youu

What about Dean and Cas as a pilot and flight attendant!!! Something cute and flirty :)

Dean is already in a pretty good mood when he gets to the airport. It’s not often anymore that he gets to go to a new destination, and since it’s an intercontinental flight he’ll even get a couple of days’ vacation before he has to fly back.

He perks up even more when he gets through security and spots a familiar head of unruly hair a few feet away. The new destination and vacation are great and all, but if he’s being honest with himself, the fact that he’s flying with Cas is the real reason he’s feeling so giddy.

He speeds his pace and falls into step next to Cas as casually as he can. “Hey, Cas, are you an air traffic controller?”

Cas doesn’t seem particularly surprised at the greeting, turning to Dean with a suspicious frown. “You know I’m a pilot.”

“‘Cause I’d like clearance to touch and go,” Dean finishes triumphantly, grinning when Cas groans.

“That one was terrible,” he tells Dean. “You need more practice.”

“Just warming you up,” Dean says. “How about this one? I’m gonna need an oxygen mask, because you just took my breath away.”

“Terrible,” Cas repeats, but his lips twitch like he’s fighting a smile so Dean counts that one as a win.
