i would so go around everywhere in my costume


Today is the last day of the year! Which meeaaaaansss End of the year costume review!! I’m going to be posting up the costumes I completed over 2013, and while it wasn’t as many as I had hoped, I’m still really proud of myself for taking chances and pushing myself!

First up! Maaaaad Moxxi!! (Be prepared for a wall of text ♥)

I had already cosplayed Moxxi in her red outfit before, but once I saw a sneak peek of her in the Borderlands 2 trailer wearing purple I knew I just HAD to make that outfit! Purple is my favorite color, after all! After lots and lots of setbacks and fabric changes, I finally got to make and wear her at the beginning of this year.

I spent a lot of time on this outfit, making sure to get every last detail down as close as I could, going so far as to hand paint the stripes, swirls, dirt, buttons, trim and more. I replaced the buttons on the boots and cut apart, carved into and painted a metal tin for the belt buckle. I put lots and lots of blood, sweat and tears into making this costume as perfect as I could! I would still be making updates and adjustments to it year round, because I am never satisfied! I finally made a holster I was proud of (sadly not pictured), my amazing boyfriend made me Rubi, and I toted around a tip jar everywhere I went!

My makeup has changed a lot since I first started doing it! I guess its true what they say: Practice makes (close to) perfect! I’m really pleased with how my makeup has started to look, and its a huuuuuge difference from when I first started!

To say Mad Moxxi is important to me would be a MASSIVE understatement. She is a beautiful, desired, confident and dangerously badass woman. When she speaks, you listen. When she asks, you obey. When she bats her eyelashes, you turn into a puddle of goo. Shes sexy, she knows it and shes not ashamed of it. When I cosplay Mad Moxxi, the world is my oyster. I have all the confidence of Hansdome Jack, and feel prettier than Her Majesty, Lady Butt Stallion. Mad Moxxi brings me good luck, and amazing experiences. I wouldn’t trade one second of my time spent as Moxxi for anything else, even if the shoes are a royal pain in my butt!

I won’t stop cosplaying Moxxi for a long, long time. As much as I like this purple outfit, I’ve also got plans to make the other colors (first up: Black!) as well as her Bar Wench outfit from the Assault on Dragon Keep!

On top of everything else, I want to thank you all for showing so much love for my cosplay of Mad Moxxi! You’ve always got such nice things to say about it, and I want you to know that each and every comment brings a HUGE smile to my face. Thank you guys, really.

TL;DR I cosplayed Mad Moxxi’s purple outfit AND I LOVED IT. YAY.

It occurred to me that I haven’t posted a lot of my cosplay pictures… My dad and I took a bunch of photos a few months ago to try and compile a portfolio, but I haven’t gotten around to posting them. So, here you go! This is my Elsa.

We started out in a really pretty park, that had all these bridges and scenery that looked like something straight out of a fairytale. I kind of underestimated how much attention the costume would get; Everywhere we went, I kept hearing people shout “Elsaaaaa!!”, and I even had about 4 people ask me to be in their wedding photos. I’m not kidding.

Then we decided to go hit Hollywood boulevard, and I had an absolute blast posing for photos and talking to kids.
