Fall Semester

August

The first day of the new fall semester has been nothing less of eventful. Not only did you sleep past your alarm by more than thirty minutes, not only did you not get a cup of coffee in you this morning, not only did you realize that you had forgotten your psychology textbook back at your apartment until you got to class, and not only were you ten minutes late to class, you somehow were able to calm yourself down enough to where you did not cause a commotion once you entered the lecture hall.

Once you sat down, places towards the back mainly open, you opened your laptop trying to blend in with everyone like you had not just missed the first ten minutes of class. You focused in on what your professor was saying, trying to ignore the fact that you had also forgotten to brush your teeth as well.

“In my class, we will learn about all sorts of things,” the professor states, “From children, to sociopaths, the human mind, to medicine, to love… and sex,” he pauses for a moment, a smirk on his face, “and yes, we will be talking about soulmates, too for those wondering, although many of you may already know where I’m at with this,” he continues.

Your face suddenly drops. Soulmate. You have heard the term all of your life and as you have gotten older, the more you try to ignore it.

Your older sister soulmate’s name carved into her left wrist at the tender age of fourteen and found the guy when she was seventeen. Your best friend soulmate’s named etched its name onto his left wrist when he was eighteen. The special thing about your soulmate’s mark, is that their name is written in their handwriting. A sacred thing that you have yet to experience. Everyone you knew, had received a name by the time they were eighteen… except you.

You were now 21, going on 22 and a name still has yet to be marked on you. You’ve heard stories of people never finding their soulmate and dying alone and depressed. Not only that, but you have also heard of the physical pain that comes along when never finding a soulmate.

Thankfully you have never experienced any physical pain yet, which gives you hope that the name is still yet to come.

“Excuse me,” a voice, a whisper, knocks you out of your thoughts. You glance over to see a boy with light brown hair and big doe brown eyes staring at you. “I think you dropped this,” there in front of you, the mysterious boy holds up a pencil that must have slipped out of your hand while you were in thought.

“Oh, thanks,” you say in a whisper, snatching it back from the boy giving him one last look before turning your attention back on the professor.

You internally groan to yourself and you can tell this is already going to be a long year.

You were in love with your roommate Hoseok. Jimin knows your secret and wants to help you make him jealous.

Happy Birthday to my world and sunshine! Im not trying to cry but I hope my angel has the best day ever!!

You got home, to your shared apartment, after your morning shift. You hated being a waitress but Sunday mornings did bring in a big crowd. You think people who just got out of church were supposed to be nice but no. Everyone is cranky and wants brunch. Either way people tipped you well this morning and you needed to go buy groceries for you and Hoseok.

Hoseok, you thought. You wondered if he was awake. It was about two in the afternoon so you figured not. You knew he went out for a night of drinking with his friends. You also knew he brought a girl home last night. Mostly because you could hear everything they had done last night, well technically this morning. His room was across from your room and down the hall, that’s how loud they were. You could hear the bed hit the wall, the way she was screaming out for him, it was all too much for you. Especially his moans, they sounded so dirty and needy. You just wished they were for you, aching for you. Here you were in the kitchen writing a grocery list and getting wet thinking about Hoseok moaning.

You were greeted with the sound of the TV blaring from the living room when you opened the front door of your house. Although he couldn’t see or hear you, it didn’t stop you from letting out a small sigh accompanied with a smile to yourself as you untied your sneakers and put them away neatly on the shoe rack. The thick white socks you wore made your steps quiet.

As you padded into the house, you weren’t surprised to find your roommate sprawled on the floor with his back leaning against the lower half of the couch and his long legs stretched carelessly under the coffee table. He was staring at the show playing on his laptop on the table but you weren’t sure if he was really paying attention to it. At first you opened your mouth to check if he needed a call back to Earth, then you saw the gaggle of men and women sprinting across the screen and gasped.

“JUNGKOOK! How could you?!”

Your shriek of righteous indignation caused him to jump in surprise, knocking his leg against the table. He turned around, scowling at you while rubbing his palm over the injured spot. “Ow! What the hell?”

“You’re watching Survivor without me!” The accident didn’t matter to you, actually it was well deserved in your opinion for jumping the gun instead of waiting for you to come home.

“Oh,” he said, glancing at the computer screen for a split second before turning back to you. At least he had the decency to look and sound sheepish. “Sorry. I was trying to distract myself and I didn’t know what else to do.”

“How come you’re home so early, anyway?” You asked as you sat down on the couch next to where he was sitting on the floor. It wasn’t unusual, but you wanted to know what happened, as usual. Jungkook and you told each other pretty much everything. “Did she kick your loser ass out of her house?”

Jungkook snorted derisively, then paused to look up at you. “Maybe.”

You raised a skeptical eyebrow at his cryptic answer. Taking in the sight of him, long, muscly and handsome, one of his forearms propped up on a bent knee, looking cool as cucumber, you had a hard time believing any girl would kick him out of her house. Opening your mouth, you started to question this unlikely story but he cut you off before you could even utter a single syllable.

“Come on, let’s get ice-cream and pick up some snacks to munch on while we watch this,” he paused the show, stood up and offered a hand to you. The mention of ice-cream immediately distracted you from further interrogation and you placed your hand in his to allow him to pull you up.

“I still can’t believe you watched without me,” you muttered as you snatched your purse and followed him out the door.

A bark of laughter escaped from him and he clapped his arm around your shoulder. His knuckle grinding against the side of your head was teasing but it made you huff and squirm out of his grasp irritatedly. “I thought you’ve watched season twenty before.”

“Just because we’re rewatching them doesn’t mean that I appreciate you playing it without me,” you retorted. “We were supposed to see the whole thing together!”

“Relax, we can just replay that episode from the beginning,” he assured you. “I couldn’t pay attention to any of it anyway.”

After grabbing some chips from the convenience store and an ice-cream cone each from the ice-cream shop, the two of you took a relaxed stroll home. Your raspberry ice-cream was almost gone and you were eyeing Jungkook’s half-eaten one. He was quick to notice the longing look on your face and put on a show of slurping his dessert extra loudly with a smirk, just to annoy you. Catching yourself, you threw him a dirty look and fished for a topic to distract yourself from your sweet tooth impulses.

“So, what happened on the date? I thought you wouldn’t come home tonight. Either that or I have to put my headphones on full blast,” you grinned and elbowed him in attempt to make light on the situation. An eye roll told you that it failed to amuse him.

“The date was okay,” he shrugged. “I’d just rather spend the night finishing of this season is all.”

You wondered if the date really went well or if he got rejected and was too embarrassed to admit it. There was no reason for a young man like Jungkook to turn down the prospect of sex for a rerun of Survivor, no matter how good the show was. “Did she… not enjoy the date?” The question was far from tactful but sensitivity had never been your forte. It was a mark of impressive self-restraint on your part not to have asked him this before. The sad truth was Jungkook had never returned home late from a date. You never had to turn your headphones on full volume either.

Jungkook popped the last bite of the ice-cream cone into his mouth, munching slowly as he thought of an answer. “Maybe.” Another obscure response. You concluded that the date, like his previous dates with scores of other girls, was a failure and that he didn’t want to talk about it so you decided not to press the matter. When you brought around a change of topic, he seemed glad for the respite and participated in the new discussion with more vigour.

However, as you watched the contestants jumping in each others’ throats at the Tribal Council later, you found yourself unable to stop thinking about Jungkook’s dating life. It was incomprehensible that such a handsome, smart guy like your roommate to never have a successful date. At first you thought it was because Jungkook was picky, but when you asked him about the girls he went out with, he had nothing but good things to say about them. It couldn’t be that he had a bad personality either. You knew there were girls who would put up with class A jerks just because they were as good-looking and popular as Jungkook was.

On the contrary, Jungkook is a great guy. He was thoughtful, well-mannered and funny. You always found him to be good company. So why was it that for the time that you’d known him, he had never been a relationship or even went out with the same girl more than once?

“Do you pay for the girl’s share of the meal when you go out?” You asked suddenly.

Instead of answering, he tapped your shoulder gently with the hand that was resting on you, acknowledging that he’d heard you say something but was too preoccupied to answer. You forced yourself to focus on the screen. One of the contestants just dropped an unexpected bomb and Jeff, the host was expressing his surprise. When a man stood to cast the first vote, Jungkook used the arm that he had wrapped around your shoulders to squeeze you in apology and shifted his attention to you. “Sorry. What did you say?”

The brief window had given you the opportunity to second guess your decision to bring up the subject again, but you forged ahead anyway. “When you go on a date, do you pay for the girl’s meal?” You repeated.

“Mm-hmm,” he answered noncommittally.

“Did things get… awkward?” You continued, trying to pinpoint the problem.

“Not as awkward as you’re being right now.” His teasing earned him an elbow in the ribs.

“I’m serious, Jeon,” you admonished him.

Sighing softly, he returned, “Why do you care, anyway? It’s not as if you have a boyfriend. Shouldn’t you worry about yourself first?”

Had the statement come from anyone else, it might have been offensive, but this was Jungkook. His gentle tone and impassive face told you that there was no vicious intent behind them. You couldn’t tell him the real reason why you were concerned though. Not when you couldn’t even admit it to yourself. You’d had a crush on him ever since you moved in. However, you were too cowardly to voice it out loud, afraid that it would make things awkward between you. The thought of rejection was too scary and you didn’t want to ruin the friendship you had with him, afraid to lose the comfort that he provided, the confidant you trusted and the companion you had when you were at here at home.

“You know I’m too busy to date.” That much was true. Juggling studies with a job was tough and tiring. All you wanted to do when you had any free time was just relax at home, so it didn’t give you many opportunities to meet new people. Besides, you had all the companion that you wanted in Jungkook, although that might change if he actually got a girlfriend. Even though the prospect of him dating someone else was daunting, you wanted it to happen, partly because you wanted him to be happy, but mostly because you hoped that if he was unavailable you would stop pining over him and move on. “I just care about you, that’s all.”

His expression remained inscrutable and no words came out of his mouth, so you went on, “Do you think you might have said or talked about something inappropriate or upset them in some way?”

Apparently he thought that the reading of the votes was more interesting than the subject at hand, because he turned his attention back to the screen. “They never said anything, so how would I know if I’d offended them?”

“True…” you said softly, prepared to digress and enjoy the rest of the show.

“Maybe you should teach me how to date properly,” the words came out in a mumble but you caught them. Thinking that it was a joke, you giggled and agreed. “Maybe I should, you hopeless boy!”

Suddenly he leaned forward to tap the space bar on the laptop to pause the video, jostling you out of the comfortable cuddle you two were in. “Will you let me take you out on a date, then?”

“What?” Eyes wide at the abrupt turn of events, you sputtered. “I - ah -”

“You’re free this weekend, aren’t you?”

You nodded mutely. Your weekends were always free, reserved for completing assignments and getting some highly-necessary resting time, and Jungkook knew this so there was no use pretending you had something better to do.

“Saturday it is, then,” he said. Satisfied that he had settled the matter, he put the video on play and gathered you back into his arms. The next few episodes you watched were a blur. You couldn’t believe what had just happened - Jungkook had asked you out on a date. A practice date, but still. Tilting your head up ever so slightly, you cast a glance at him. His eyes were trained on the moving images in front of him and you sincerely hoped that he didn’t notice your heart threatening to beat right out of your chest.

It was funny how time flew when you were anxious about something. In no time at all, the entire week passed by and it was almost Saturday noon. You had woken up at the crack of dawn and was too nervous to go back to sleep, so you had lain on your bed for hours until you heard Jungkook moving about his room. The sounds stirred you to traipse into the bathroom and take a shower before fixing some sandwiches to tide both of you over since he said he would be taking you out to dinner after your day out.

The destination of your date had been kept a secret from you so you were now standing in front of your mirror holding up clothes to your body, wondering what to wear. The entire contents of your wardrobe covered your bed but you still couldn’t decide on an outfit. He had said that it was casual, but you were unsure of how much effort you should put into this. It wasn’t a real date after all, you were just going out to see what he had been doing wrong during his numerous dates and perhaps offer him some advice. You didn’t want to look too eager. Still, a part of you wanted to look nice. It had been a long time since you went out on a date, and even though it was a pretend one, it couldn’t hurt to look the part.

Stepping out of your room, you found that Jungkook was already waiting for you. He was sitting on the couch, facing away but when he heard your door open, he turned around and the way the beautiful features of his face rearranged themselves told you that the effort you had put in was worth it.

You had slipped on a simple white dress with flowery lace lining the edges. Your hair wasn’t worn in the serviceable ponytail or the comfortable bun he was used to seeing, but was free, curling loosely down your back. The makeup you had put on was simple and minimal, but considering that you rarely wore any, you knew that it made a marked difference to your usual simple getup. Jungkook’s eyes traveled up and down, taking in your appearance in silent awe.

“Too much?” You asked, nervously fingering the bottom of your dress. He quickly shook his head.

“You look beautiful,” he said softly. His smile was returned with a tentative one of your own as you breathed more easily.

The moment was almost magical, both you and Jungkook were too absorbed in it to speak. He looked good, but he always did. He was wearing one of his nicer shirts paired with a pair of dark blue jeans, and his brown hair was combed neatly, his fringe covering most of his forehead. Then he spoke and broke the spell. “Shall we go then?”

For the first time, an awkward silence loomed over you and Jungkook as he drove his car towards the mysterious destination. Conversations, both silly and serious had never failed to flow between the two of you, but that was when you were friends and roommates just hanging out. It was funny how a different mindset changed all that.

Your fears soon proved to be unfounded though. Jungkook asked about the professor teaching one of your classes that he had taken the previous year and it broke the ice. The strict and boring professor had been thoroughly abused by the time Jungkook slid his hands along the steering wheel to park the car in reverse. In fact, you enjoyed gossiping about him so much that you didn’t notice that he had brought you to the aquarium that you had been dying to go to. Your head swiveled to look excitedly at him only to find that he was already grinning at you, happy to see your reaction.

“You remembered!” You exclaimed, impressed. Your desire to visit was only mentioned once in passing so you never expected him to remember.

He chuckled triumphantly. “Come on.”

You were surprised to find out that he had already purchased the tickets beforehand. A short argument broke out because he refused to accept your offer to pay for your ticket but he insisted, and you decided to let him have this one.

The aquarium was absolutely amazing. You couldn’t help ooh-ing and aah-ing over the sharks and stingrays swimming in the water underneath your white wedges, marveling at the stunning display of colourful corals between which smaller fishes darted. Jungkook pointed out Nemo and Dory, making the two of you giggle as you watched the bright fishes move among the coral reefs.

“Isn’t it mind-boggling to see a whole ecosystem in here?” he whispered almost reverently, staring at the brilliant array of underwater creatures in various sizes that gave the impression of colourful moving stars on a backdrop of a beautiful deep blue sky. You nodded, your head angled upwards to drink in the display of the underwater walk-through tunnel. No further words were needed to complete the moment. It felt like time stood still, neither of you moving until you finally pulled yourself out of your reverie to turn sideways to look at Jungkook.

He had an amused smile on his face when you caught him staring at you. Apparently he had been watching you enjoy the exhibit and was waiting for you to decide to move on. You flushed at the thought of him inwardly laughing at your open-mouthed gawking at the show. Clearing your throat, you said, “Ahem - should we move on?”

Turning around the corner to the next part of the exhibit had you squealing in delight when you laid your eyes upon black and white penguins. Rushing forward, you realised that you were dragging Jungkook by the hand and looked down in surprise. Since when did you start holding hands? You would never have had the guts to reach out for his hand, yet you couldn’t recall him taking yours either. It felt so natural that you didn’t notice it.

Following your gaze down to your joined limbs, Jungkook said casually, “What? Isn’t it normal to be holding hands on a date?”

“Yeah…” You agreed, but your voice trailed off. You could hardly believe that you were holding hands with Jungkook. Sure, you had cuddled with him lounging on the couch while you watched the tube, but that was more of a good friends-roommate thing. Somehow this was more intimate. Sensing your hesitation, he interlaced his fingers with yours, engulfing your hand in his big one in a more secure hold, as if unwilling to let you take it back.

Before you could comment on it, he had pulled you forward to gush at the African penguins. The waddling penguins thrilled you enough to allow you to recover from the shock, but his skin felt a little too warm against your palm. You suddenly were much too worried that he could feel it getting sweaty from nervousness to fully appreciate the effort that had been put into the tank to mimic the penguins’ natural environment. It got even worse when Jungkook leaned down to point out a pair of birds grooming each other in a nest box. His breathy laughter blowing in your ear sent electrifying chills down your spine but you pretended that nothing was wrong, that you weren’t having heart palpitations from close contact with your roommate in a middle of a public place.

The rest of the visit passed by in a blur. All you could think about was the way he made your heart beat fast and that you never wanted this day to end. When you got back from a bathroom break, he even bought a beautiful blue dolphin key chain for you, one to match the red one he got for himself. Upon closer inspection, a grain of rice floated in the blue liquid. The small white grain bore your name in minuscule writing, magnified by the fluid. “This is cool!” You exclaimed.

“Isn’t it?” He gushed, pleased that you were happy with the souvenir. You’d never seen him beam with such happiness that it flustered you. When he led you to the gorgeous aquarium restaurant, you barely took notice of the beautiful setting of the pristine white tables surrounded by an enormous tank teeming with aquatic life. The food was delicious but completely wasted on you as you tried to marshal all the concentration you could muster to keep up with the conversation. You must have done a good job because he seemed none the wiser, chatting about everything from studies to work to the great exhibits at the aquarium.

Any semblance of normalcy only returned to you when Jungkook called for the check. You had graciously let him pay for the entrance fee, so you absolutely refused to allow him to pay for dinner as well. A place such as this was undoubtedly expensive. Unfortunately, when the waiter returned, the check was given to Jungkook, who resolutely kept the slim black checkbook away from you. The aggravating man quickly slipped in his card into the fold and handed it back to the waiter before you could even say a word, grinning to himself over his success at paying for the whole thing.

“Why didn’t you let me pay?” You fumed. “I should’ve gotten that, you already paid for our tickets!”

“Weren’t you the one who told me that the guy should pay on a date?” He sniggered.

“Well, yes, either that or go dutch if the girl is uncomfortable with you paying,” you grudgingly agreed. “But this isn’t a real date!”

His laughter died at once, sunny expression giving way to hurt marring his gorgeous face. “Not a real date?”

Your hands toyed with the napkin in your lap, nervousness amped back up at his reaction. “Isn’t this supposed to be a practice date so we can figure out what you’re doing wrong?”

“Right,” he mumbled, accepting the receipt when the waiter came back with it.

The abrupt change in his demeanour was befuddling to you. The air became so thick with confusing tension that you felt guilty for an unknown reason, enough so that your intention of paying for the meal completely disappeared from your mind. Desperate to make things right, you fumbled for something to talk about and luckily Jungkook followed your cue. Easy conversation revolving around unimportant topics filled the drive home and at the end of the ride, the atmosphere was as light as it was before you committed that faux pas.

You’d never gone out on a date and return home with said date without having sex though. When you saw him pause after taking off his shoes, you knew that he was thinking of the same thing. The two of you stood near the entryway of your home, both unsure of what to do or say. Then the absurdity of the situation hit you.

“I know I’m supposed to be the one giving pointers today, but… what do people usually do at the end of a date?” You chuckled, completely forgetting that it was you who said that it wasn’t a date earlier.

Jungkook flashed you his signature shy smile that never failed to cause your heart to do a backflip. “I guess they say goodnight,” he shrugged.

“So…” You started, but you didn’t want to finish. Truthfully, you never wanted this to end. Even though you had said otherwise, it was the only date you’d have with Jungkook, and you wanted to prolong it for as long as you could.

“So…” He continued, moving forward and placing a hand on your shoulder. “Goodnight.” But neither of you moved.

Taking a deep breath as if steeling himself, he closed the remaining distance. The hand that was on your shoulder slid against your skin up your neck to cup the side of your face as he leaned down to kiss you.

The kiss was hesitant, just a gentle pressure applied behind his lips, giving you the choice of pulling away if the advance was unwanted. Contrary to his belief, you never wanted anything more. The shock at him finally kissing you, something that you’d only daydreamed about wore off extremely quickly. Resting your palms on his hard chest for balance, you tiptoed on the balls of your feet to kiss him back.

Upon sensing your reciprocation, Jungkook immediately deepened the kiss. His other hand cradled the back of your neck to tilt your head so he could crush his lips against yours roughly. His tongue traveled the line between your lips, a silent request for access, and it darted into your mouth the moment you acquiesced. Leisurely he explored your mouth, his tongue twirling with yours in a sloppy dance. A moan formed in the back of your throat as you felt heat starting to pool between your legs.

Then your eyes flew open. You couldn’t do this. If this continued, you knew you wouldn’t be able to stop yourself from jumping his bones. Where would you hide your face after he rejects you? For all you knew, you could have already made things awkward between you, and you didn’t want to incur further damage, so with great effort, you pulled away from him.

“Good - goodnight,” you panted, extricating yourself from him and running into your bedroom, closing the door behind you before he could say another word.

You leaned against the back of the door, still breathing heavily, and tried to regain your bearings. What had just happened? That was the best kiss you’d ever had your entire life. It was unbelievable that one kiss had managed to arouse you so much that you knew your panties were soaked through without even checking. You pushed yourself off the support of the door and sat on the bed, burying your face in your hands and groaning.

Jungkook was just casually kissing you goodnight, wasn’t he? Why did you have to go and make it all hot and bothered? Now things were going to be so weird with him. Even if by some miracle, your friendship wasn’t ruined, how would you be able to handle him having a girlfriend? Just the thought of another girl being the recipient of that burning, passionate kiss, having him hold her hand, even being the reason for his small smile was already making your gut twist into a painful knot.

That can be dealt with later, you thought. The most important thing was to salvage your friendship. You couldn’t let him know that you were nursing a crush on him, although now you were sure that it had progressed far past that stage. He might distance himself from you because he didn’t want to hurt your feelings by not returning them. You’d rather be hurt than be deprived of his company, even as a friend.

Making up your mind, you reached for your phone and scrolled through the contacts. You found the phone number of your classmate who had been begging for you to set her up with Jungkook. Before this, you were reluctant because you were secretly afraid that she and Jungkook would hit it off, but there was no help for it now. This was the best way to prove to him that the whole thing meant nothing to you.

The next morning found you grumpy but resolute. Jungkook has risen earlier than you did, as he usually did on Sundays so he could go on his morning run. He had already taken a shower and was munching on cereal at the dining table when you emerged from your room.

“Good morning,” you said, relieved that your voice came out sounding normal.

“Morning,” he returned, but his attention was still on the phone in his left hand. It didn’t deter you though.

“Listen,” you began, sitting on the chair opposite him, “There’s a friend of mine from class, Elly, she’s cute and really nice, and she’s been asking me to introduce her to you. What do you think?”

Finally, he looked up at you, his eyebrows raised. A moment later, his expression had become inscrutable and his eyes were trained on his phone again as he said, “Sure. Just give her my number, if you want.”

“Great,” you exclaimed with false enthusiasm. While you sent his number to your friend, he shoveled the rest of his breakfast into his mouth, got up to wash the dishes and walked out without saying another word. You didn’t think too much of it until he turned up just before noon to announce that he was going out on a date with Elly.

“That was quick,” you commented, trying to hide your surprise even as you felt your heart grow heavy as if it was filled with lead.

“No sense in waiting,” he shrugged. He was in and out of his bedroom in less than thirty minutes, but you noticed that he looked and smelled as nice as he did when he went out with you yesterday. It made you bite the inside of your cheeks to stop yourself from frowning.

You desperately wanted not to care about his date, but here you were, still sitting in front of the TV watching a drama that you had never seen before. Since you hadn’t watched the previous episodes, nothing made sense but you couldn’t bring yourself to go into your room to do something that was probably more productive. You needed to know how the date turned out, even if you had to wait until tomorrow morning, although you prayed that it would not take that long.

Your prayers were answered when he returned not long after sunset. Although your heart lightened at the possibility that nothing too intimate had happened, you couldn’t help calling out to him, “Back so soon?” Right after you heard the front door bang shut.

“Yeah.” He was lingering near the doorway, presumably taking off his shoes.

“How did it go?”

“Okay,” he answered shortly as he marched into his room. The door closed with a final click.

You pouted, even though there was no one around to see it. Why was he in such a foul mood? He had never disregarded you like that before. Did the date turn out badly? It couldn’t have been his doing. If yesterday was any indication, Jungkook knew how to treat a girl well. Was it your friend who was at fault, then?

For the first time after hours of sitting on the couch, you got up to your bedroom to call her. She picked up within the first three rings.

“Hi Elly,” you said, wondering how you could go about this without being suspicious. “Jungkook just got back. Did everything go well? I didn’t expect him back so early.”

“It was okay, I guess,” she said in a similar manner to Jungkook’s. Then she sighed heavily. “Actually I asked him if he wanted to go back to my place but he said no. To be honest, the whole time he didn’t seem to be interested at all. Maybe he’s just not ready for a relationship. Or anything casual, even. I did make it clear that I didn’t mind not being exclusive or anything. Do you think it was me?”

After reassuring her that she wasn’t at fault, you headed to Jungkook’s bedroom. Your head was spinning but you needed to get to the bottom of this. The door opened to a very astonished Jungkook. The two of you spent most of your waking hours in the house in the living room together, but you rarely bothered each other once you were in your bedrooms. It was an unspoken agreement that your own rooms were your sanctuary; your private space.

“Can we talk?” You asked nicely, not wanting to sound confrontational right off the bat.

“Of course,” he said, stepping aside so you could enter. He gestured you to sit on the chair by his desk whereas he sat on the edge of his bed.

“I just talked to Elly,” you decided to dive right in. “She said that you didn’t seem to be interested in her, or any part of the date. Was there something wrong with her?”

“She said that, huh,” he chortled, but there was no humour behind it. “I didn’t realise that I had been so obvious all this time.”

“What do you mean?”

“The reason I didn’t seem interested was probably because I wasn’t.”

You were confused. If he didn’t want to date, why did he go on so many? “You’re not interested in dating, or is it Elly? She’s a great girl.”

“There’s nothing wrong with Elly,” he dismissed with a wave of his hand. “I am interested in dating.”

He was still being as cryptic as ever and your patience was wearing thin. “Jungkook, can you just cut the bullshit and tell me what the problem is? It’s clearly not your dating skills, or the girls you’ve been going out with.”

“You want me to be clear? Fine, I’ll be clear with you.” His expression had turned dark and moody. “I want to date, but the only person I’m interested in dating is you, okay?”

He couldn’t have been more clearer than that, but his statement had you dumbfounded. “Me? But - I thought - why didn’t you tell me before?”

His sigh was heartfelt. “You don’t seem interested in me, and I was afraid of jeopardising our friendship. Do you know how hard it was for me to finally ask you out that night? I used a stupid excuse to ask, but I did. It really hurt when you said that it wasn’t a real date.”

“I’m sorry,” you said remorsefully. How were you to explain that you did it to protect yourself? Even now when he was pouring his heart out, you were scared. It seemed too good to be true.

He continued as if you hadn’t said anything. “Then there was that kiss… it was amazing. You kissed me back, and I wanted it to be more, so much more, but you practically ran away from me. Then this morning you were so quick to set me up with your friend. If that wasn’t a clear rejection, what was?” Again, he emitted that hollow laugh. “Look, just forget that I said all this okay? I don’t want things to be weird between us.”

“Jungkook, you got it all wrong.” He had been honest with you. It was your turn to be forthcoming with your own feelings, especially now that you know that he felt the same way. “I’ve had a crush on you since the first day I met you. I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to lose you as a friend. I had no idea that you like me. Come on, a guy like you with someone like me?” You snorted.

The genuinely bewildered look on Jungkook’s face was absolutely adorable. “What do you mean, someone like you? You’re perfect.” Before you could argue, he asked, “If you like me, then why do you push me to go on dates? Why are you so determined for them to be successful?”

“Because I hoped that if you’re with someone else I could forget about you,” you admitted in a small voice.

“So all this time, we’ve liked each other but both of us were too stupid to say anything?” He asked incredulously.

“We’re idiots, aren’t we?” You laughed. You had never felt so light and giddy. The person you had a crush on, who had become such an important person to you, actually felt the same way you did!

“Come here,” he commanded, and you walked the few steps towards him. When you got close enough, he grabbed your hand and pulled you downwards so that you fell into his lap with a squeal. His face was so close to yours that you could feel puffs of warm air hit your face as his breathing accelerated. You could feel your own pulse beat irregularly from the anticipation. “Let’s promise never to keep things from each other again, okay?”

You grinned and nodded your agreement. If only you’d known how he felt… you wanted to lament over lost time, but that was pointless and the important thing was you knew now. Did he ever look at me so lovingly before? You wondered, gazing back at him as he tenderly brushed away a strand of stray hair, tucking it behind your ear. The same hand rested on the back of your head to push you to meet his lips. The kiss was not hesitant as the previous one was. It was hungry, passionate, his arms circling around you to hold you tightly in his arms as he bruised your lips.

You’d never known that he was this assertive and rough before. The Jungkook you knew was considerate, soft and very gentle. It was as though you were discovering a whole new side of him; the Jungkook who had kept his feelings from you for almost a year for the sake of your friendship. Along with this revelation, you also found out something about yourself: you had always loved the roommate you’d known for months, but this Jungkook drove you crazy. You returned the kiss with equal fervor, and the more you moaned, the more insistent he became.

However, you wanted more of him. You wanted all of him. So you broke the kiss, ignoring his protests and pulled his shirt off. Sinking to your knees, you tugged on his grey sweatpants and he raised his hips obligingly to let you pull it down with his boxers, having caught on. His painfully hard erection almost hit your face as it burst free of its confines. It had been a while since you had sex and the sight intimidated you at first, but you grabbed the base with your fist. Your hand looked small wrapped around the throbbing shaft, the end of which oozed with precum, and your tongue darted out to flick it into your mouth. Above you, Jungkook hissed and raked his fingers through your hair. Taking the hint, you ran your tongue along the underside of his cock until you reached the head, swirling all over the reddened tip.

The fingers in your hair tensed. You looked up at him and smirked at the mess that you’d reduced him to. Under his hooded lids, his brown eyes had blown dark with lust. He was looking at you like a starved hyena, and it shot arrows of hunger right down to your lower region. Never taking your eyes off of his, you took him into your mouth, slowly descending upon his length until you’d swallowed all of him. Tears prickled at the corners of your eyes as you fought the gag reflex but you held your ground. You kept still but you swallowed several times around him, making him groan at the sensation before you pulled yourself back, gasping for air.

After recovering a little, you started to bob your head up and down his cock. Your hand pumped from the base to meet your lips. Humming against his length, you enjoyed his moans as the vibrations heightened the sensation. Every once in a while you broke the rhythm by taking him whole inside your mouth like you did at first. Then you retreated to suck hard on the head, allowing your fist to twist lightly as you pumped his cock. You could hear him snarl just before he tugged you off of him completely.

“Don’t you think you’re being unfair, you little tease?” His voice had grown coarse and gravelly with the prolonged stimulation, but it only served to arouse you more. He yanked you off the floor, throwing you onto the bed and made quick work of the little clothes you wore. In no time, your nightshirt, bra and panties had joined his clothes on the floor and you were completely bare before him. His lips met yours briefly before it trailed down your neck to your chest. You could feel his wet tongue circling your nipple while his fingers toyed with the other one, teasing them into hardened peaks. Satisfied with his work, he blew lightly on the sensitive tips, making you mewl before he moved further down.

Your legs were pressed tightly together, reluctant to show him just how wet he had gotten you, but he was having none of it. He pried them open to stare at your soaked core. “You’re dripping onto the sheets,” he commented with satisfaction, his strong hands keeping your legs spread when you tried to close them in mortification. “What kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn’t help you clean this up, hmm?”

Boyfriend? You didn’t get a chance to question him because he dipped his head between your legs and robbed you of any coherent speech. His tongue licked strips up your slit, lapping up your juices, and it was your turn to tug on his dark brown hair as he explored your folds with his tongue. The rough pads of his thumb flicked over your clit repeatedly, bringing you towards an orgasm with every lightning speed movement. All thoughts of dignity completely forgotten, you pressed him into your mound with your hands even as your hips angled upwards to ride his face. He didn’t complain, simply groaning with gratification at hearing his name fall from your lips as you came undone, a rush of liquid gushing out into his mouth.

You were still dazed when he picked you up to move you with him further up the bed. Depositing you onto the pillows, he hovered over you, enjoying your frazzled, contented appearance. He kissed you again, pulling at your swollen bottom lip between his teeth as his fingers made their way back to your pussy. You squirmed from over sensitivity but he was relentless. Two long fingers slipped into your slick heat and he started finger fucking you roughly. The discomfort from being overstimulated soon gave way to mounting pressure and you felt another coil of pleasure tightening in your belly. You couldn’t pull away, not from his kiss, not from his hands, in fact, you clutched onto his muscled arms and your legs wrapped around his back, bringing him even closer to you.

Any call for him was swallowed by his mouth as you burst for the second time around his fingers. He kept them moving, helping you ride your orgasm to completion, letting you hold onto him for support as you shook beneath him. Breaking the kiss, he looked into your bleary eyes, and you felt the hard, engorged tip of his cock pushing against your entrance. “You’re so mean,” You whispered, but lifted your head up to engage him in another kiss, giving him permission to slowly enter you.

“Fuck, you feel amazing,” he breathed against your lips when he’d bottomed out inside you. Incapable of any words, you moaned in agreement. You had never felt so good, and it only got better once he started moving. Gradually, he built up the pace until he was plowing into you hard, the sound of his hips slapping against yours accompanied the moans and groans that filled his bedroom. His thrusts grew so forceful that he had to hold onto your waist to keep you in place.

“Look at me,” he whispered, and your eyes opened to see him looking down at you. His gaze was so intense that you turned your head to the side to avoid the burning eyes that were piercing into your soul, but he grabbed your chin to make you face him again. “No, don’t you dare look away. I want you to look at me as I fuck you to oblivion.” You squealed as his dirty words were punctuated with a sharp snap of his hips into you, making you close your eyes before a growl reminded you of his command and you opened them again.

He was pushing you towards the edge again embarrassingly quickly, but you didn’t care. His pink lips muttered your name over and over again as his thrusts became more sporadic, telling you that he was getting close himself. “Jungkook,” you whimpered, the impending orgasm overwhelming your whole being.

“Come for me,” he implored, his dark eyes still locked onto yours. Sweat dripped from the ends of his hair onto your cheeks from the exertion. He had never looked so beautiful. The plea caused you to topple off the cliff, screaming his name and arching your back, pressing your sensitive nipples against his broad chest, heightening the sensation of your walls clamping down on his cock as you writhed and shook violently beneath him.

Your tightening channel on his throbbing cock proved too much for him to withstand, and with several hard thrusts, he groaned loudly and slowed down. You could feel the warmth of his seed filling you up inside as he pounded a few more times into you, letting it all out before stopping completely. Short kisses followed, none too long for both of you needed to fill your lungs with air, but the thought of not kissing him was repugnant.

“Looks like you don’t have to ask me how my dates go anymore,” Jungkook said shortly afterwards as you cuddled contentedly on his bed.

“Why not?”

“Because you’ll be there to see how they go yourself, silly,” he chortled and pinched your cheek. “Y/n, you’ll be my girlfriend, won’t you?” He asked, suddenly unsure of himself.

“Of course,” you answered, tilting your head up to kiss him so he wouldn’t see your blushing face.

This episode is almost done.” She groans annoyed, turning off the TV. “No, it can’t, you watched two whole seasons this week. You need to get out more, have fun and get laid. Really, when was the last time you got out of the house?”

You straighten up your sweater, sitting up on the bed, “Yesterday, to go to work.” She rolls her eyes at you and you feel like a kid that talked back to her parents. “Sure, you go to work almost every day, but when was the last time you got out the house to have fun?”

You don’t answer her because you don’t remember. Your life lately has been going to work and going home. “See, you don’t even remember. Look, I know that since you and Nathan broke up things are hard, but you need to go back out there. Have fun, do something crazy.”

College Boy

Pairing: Y/N and Harry

Word Count: 1311

Prompt: Harry wants a shot at a normal life so he attends Northeastern University, but it’s harder than he thinks. The friends he made just want fame, and the other hardly look at him. But then he meets her, Y/N, and she wants nothing to do with the a-list celebrity.

Cole and Dylan Sprouse did it, Emma Watson, Amy Pohler, they all went to college, and Harry wanted to as well. He wanted the experience of something normal for once, he wanted to be able to say he graduated, he wanted his family to come to a graduation. When the news broke out everyone went crazy trying to figure out where he was going, and Harry got accepted everywhere. But he wanted to succeed he wanted to go to a school he knew was right from him, which was far from Harvard, but it also wasn’t community college. He wanted a roommate, he wanted to live in a dorm, attend the dreadful eight ams, and have RA’s. So he picked Northeastern University, still the top best, but no Harvard.

Harry was thankful for his roommate, Nick. Nick didn’t care at all about who Harry was. Nick spent most of his time in the library or in the room studying, he hardly spoke to Harry. Nick had a plan, two years at Northeastern and then Harvard. Nick made it clear that he didn’t want parties or girls coming in and out every night and Harry promised he would be as normal as possible, but Nick just scoffed.

It wasn’t easy for Harry and he wondered how everyone else did it. Students watched him, took pictures, videos, whispered, they just kept following him around, and Harry hated it. He found it difficult to make friends, the ones he did make wanted fame, and the other kept away. He couldn’t seem to find someone who wanted to actually sit and talk with him.

Nick had been holding a study group in their room so Harry grabbed his bag and made his way to the library. It was quiet and as soon as he walked in he saw a couple phones point his way. He huffed and made his way to the back where there were small cubicles. He pulled a chair back and pulled out his laptop. Texts from Jeff and Nick quickly popped up.

Nick: How’s the college life, join a frat yet?

Jeff: Do you miss the studio yet?

Nick: I love you but this is just insane why are you doing this?

The Nyma Incident

Alright y’all, here it is. The next installment of the klance YouTuber AU. Honestly,,, it might be a little unrealistic, but I wrote it anyway and @elsiemcclay convinced me to post it,,, so. There’s that. This is technically for Day 8 of whump week, but it’s late. Sorry. But it’s longer than other one-shots in this AU!

It’s finally time to find out what happened with Nyma.

Or that time a fan of Lance’s finds out his address.

When Lance opened the door, he expected to find Keith. The idiot forgot to take his key while running errands on a regular basis, and he was already prepared with a lecture as he opened it. Not to mention that the loud knocking was typical Keith behavior.

Instead, he was surprised to find a girl not much shorter than him, with thick, curly blonde hair and a bright smile. “Hi! Sorry to bother you, but I just moved in down the hall, and I wanted to get to know some of the neighbors! I brought muffins!” she said cheerily, sticking out a hand as she shifted the tray to the other. “I’m Nyma!”

It was the begin of September - which also meant the beginning of fall semester classes. It was time for you to go back to the Hell called university.

You lazily shoved your last suitcase into the back of your mum’s car. It was a rather old Audi A1, but neither of you cared, since it still did what it had to do.

With the last strand of energy you had left, you got into the passenger seat beside your mum and immediately closed your eyes. Instead of sleeping last night, you gathered together all your remaining things you had bought throughout the summer - while having a voicetalk conversation with your bestfriend (and her little brother in the back screaming every three minutes).

Slowly opening your eyes again, you stared outside of the window. It had started to rain, which didn’t make your first day any better. Single droplets were running down the glass beside each other, evolving into one big droplet after they got too close.

You remembered how you always thought they were doing races when you were younger. But, after twenty-two years of living, you knew it wasn’t like that. You turned your head to your mother, looking at her side profile. Luckily, you looked like her and not like your Father.

Well, let’s not talk about him.

You looked at her defined cheekbones and sharp eyes. How the streetlights reflected in her eyes, giving them a tint of gold. You looked at her how her brown waves were flowing over her shoulders like a chocolate waterfall.

Everyone knew you looked exactly like your mum: from the number of moles to how you both sneezed when a storm’s coming. Yet, she was more beautiful than you could ever think to be.

‘‘Y/N, please stop staring at me like that. It’s kinda creepy, darling,’’ your mum said, bringing you back from your space-out of worship. Sighing, you turned to the front, only to see that you had arrived at the parking lot of the university apartments.

In a matter of seconds, your mum had found a parking spot, turning off the engine and opening her door. You did the same, rolling your eyes out of annoyance. It wasn’t only because you had just arrived, but because already, you could see people you knew, and definitely didn’t liked. It was so nice not seeing them over the summer, but now that you’re back, they’re a pain in the ass again.

Helping your mother emptying the car of your belongings, you stared at the students crossing you by, or doing the same as you. After everything was out, you closed the trunk and turned around - just to be welcomed by a pillow in your face. You were never really good at catching things, so of course it fell to the wet floor. Not that you cared.

‘‘Damn, I’m sorry, Y/N. Forgot that you can’t catch a thing, even if your life depended on it.’’

You stared at the boy in front of you, knowing exactly who it was. Kim Jongin

‘‘Sorry but who are you?’‘ It came out more annoyed than you originally intended. He smirked, and took a step forward to pick up his pillow.

He didn’t even care to answer. He turned around, still smirking, walking towards more boys you knew too well and hated with your whole heart. Oh, and what seemed to be his new girlfriend.

You picked up the remaining stuff your mum hadn’t already brought into your apartment and also entered the Complex. On the way up, you met her in the hallway, looking at you with a look you knew meant nothing good.

‘’ Wasn’t that Kim Jongin? The kid that used to visit the same chemistry course as you last semester?’’

You nodded, walking past her into the apartment bringing your stuff into your second home. Your mum followed after you, her arms crossed over her chest, still with that look on her face.

‘‘He’s a handsome young man. I still don’t understand why you didn’t befriend him.’‘

‘‘She didn’t because he’s not her type.’‘ Both of you turned to look at where the voice came from. In the doorway of your room was your roommate, best friend and older sister, of the boy who screamed every three minutes last night.

You rushed toward her, embracing her in a tight hug. ‘’Oh my God, Jisoo, I missed you so much! When did you arrive?’’ you squealed.

Giggling, she separated herself from you. ‘’I arrived before you. But you and your lovely mother were too distracted by talking about - you know…’’

‘‘ Y/N, don’t walk so fast, oh my god. I know it’s our first day of official classes but you don’t have to sprint,’‘ Jisoo said, while trying to catch you.

You were indeed walking very fast, but you knew your first course was economics. It was better to arrive early, since your professor was not the nicest.

‘’I’m not walking fast, you’re too-’’

You crashed face front into what felt and smelled like a male body, mid-sentence. You looked back to Jisoo to address her and because you were walking so quickly, this had to happen.

Looking up you saw a very unamused face. A face you’d never seen before. Shaking your thoughts away, you bowed in apology. ‘’I’m sorry, I didn’t see you.’’

The boy, or should we say giant stared at you with cold and emotionless eyes, not caring what happened. He had his hands in his blue jeans and practically hovered above you.

Quite strangely, you found yourself imagining how it would be if he hovered over you in bed. His eyes staring into yours (as they were) and fucking you until you couldn’t walk anymore.

When was the last time you had sex?

Looking him up and down, you noticed his big ears, his purple-grayish hear, his kissable lips and his broad body. You definitely had a thing for him.

‘‘Yo, Y/N! Do you like Chanyeol?’’ You heard Baekhyun say unexpectedly (and, may I add, quite loudly). Oh shit. Not him.

You cringed because of the sudden voice, the person it was coming from, and the so-very-obvious meaning behind it. Baekhyun was now standing beside so-called Chanyeol. Turning towards Baekhyun you rolled your eyes.

‘‘Fuck off, Baekhyun. I ran into him, by accident. Go back to your hoes and mind your own business.’‘

Baekhyun gasped mockingly and cracked a smile, before grabbing Chanyeol’s shoulder and walking away. The whole time Chanyeol had stood there saying nothing. You wondered who he was and why he was here.

Still gazing after them, Jisoo finally caught up to you. ‘’Did something happen?’’ She panted beside you, holding her stomach.

You shook your head and took her arm. ‘’No, let’s go. We only have two minutes left.’’

Jisoo groaned in annoyance, and both of you started walking again. This time, in a normal walking pace. Little did Jisoo know, that you were way too distracted to walk fast again.

Your first week back at university passed quite quickly. You got used to the stressful life of a student again. Everything was back to normal, how it used to be before summer. Visiting lessons you didn’t even cared about, eating the surprisingly good cafeteria food, you kinda missed, and the constant mocking of the people you disliked the most. Before you went to university, you always thought those kind of people only existed in bad teenage movies, but now you’ve experienced them firsthand.

You and Jisoo were, as always, sitting on the benches in the park behind the university. It was lunchtime, so the park was filled with students who were (not to your liking) extremely loud. But the weather was still nice so it was only expected that it would be that way.

You sighed and leaned back into the bench, closing your eyes and letting the sun wash over your face. ‘’I don’t know why, but I kinda missed university life.’’

Hearing Jisoo shift beside you, you opened your eyes again and smiled, knowing she totally disagreed. Jisoo was one of those people who hated everything that had something to do with studying, school or anything that could potentially stress your brain.

‘‘I can’t relate,’‘ she said. ‘‘The only good thing is seeing all those hot boys again. You know my family went with me to Japan in summer. We stayed in a fucking grandparents hotel. I was the only young person there!’‘

You laughed, remembering her endless messages over the summer how lonely and bored she was. You also didn’t see a lot of boys during summer, but it wasn’t like you agreed with Jisoo that your university had hot boys. Actually, you exactly knew who she meant by that and you couldn’t agree with it.

Exactly in that moment, the group of boys you both mentioned walked past you. How cliche, don’t you think? Behind them a bunch of girls, as always.

Rolling your eyes, you looked to your side where Jisoo was sitting. She also had noticed the group of boys now standing a little away from you. Both of your eyes first landed on each other and then on the new body who was standing in the group.

‘Quite strange that this Chanyeol dude was somehow accepted at our university to continue his studies in the same year as us and not start fresh,’‘ said Jisoo, while opening a chocolate bar.

Nodding, you answered, ‘’I asked our TA and he said that he has acceptable grades to do so, but he also added his parents are rather influential.’It must be nice to be rich and have powerful parents, you thought. ‘’But I don’t really care. It seems like he’s friends with the others, so I don’t want to know more about him.’’

Jisoo raised her brow upon hearing this and smirked. ‘’C’mon, Y/N, he’s freaking hot. I can see how you stare at him from time to time in class whenever we see him.’’

Giving her an annoyed look, you packed your lunch and lifted yourself from the bench. ‘’Whatever. As I said, he seems to be like the others, so he probably doesn’t give a fuck about me.’’

Jisoo followed your doings, and joined you in walking back to the university building. While walking pass the boys, your eyes landed on Chanyeol again. Jisoo was right - he was fucking hot and you were feeling bothered when seeing him.

Chanyeol’s eyes unexpectedly found yours. You were so shocked, you couldn’t look away. It was not the first time, since you met him one week ago, that you noticed him staring at you. His stony, impassive eyes always were boring into you. It was kinda creepy, but you also liked the attention he was giving you.

You looked away, but you could still feel his piercing eyes on your back. The way he looked at you made your whole body shiver, but you never knew if he did it for fun or if he really was interested in you.

“Stay with me, like this” were the first words you remembered when you woke up. You looked around and soon realized you were alone in the room. His room. You couldn’t see him after what happened, it would be so embarrassing. You quickly slipped out of the bed and went downstairs, carefully checking if he’s not there. You couldn’t find him anywhere, so you went to the kitchen. After finally discovered where the mugs were you made yourself a coffee but couldn’t get yourself to drink it because you kept remembering that you actually went to him yourself. You set the cup down and decided to make one for him as well, maybe he will come back soon.

“Hoho, so now where even on that level where you make coffee for me,” Jongdae cooed and you almost spilled the coffee.

“Jongdae! Don’t scare me like that!” but he just continued his speech.

“That’s understandable though, since we just slept together,” he said taking the cup out of your hand.

“We didn’t sleep together…”

“What do you mean? We did! You were lying right there, looking all cute,” he smiled, making you blush.

“Agh! You know what I mean!” you said stomping away. You stopped in the doorway. “Wait. Were you watching me sleep?”

You caught him red handed. He just averted his look and sat down at the table.

“No, I… Of course I wasn’t” he mumbled, taking a sip. “Okay! I was. I admit it but you looked so adorable I just had to.”

You covered your face with your hands. Him and his cute, flirting nature, your heart can’t take it. Wait did you just thought he’s cute? You peeked through your fingers and saw him patting the chair near him but you sat on the opposite side, well you can at least finish your coffee with him. This setting reminded you of the time you signed those papers but you quickly brushed it off.

“What got you so scared last night that you came running to me?” he asked. You never told him anything about yourself, so you wondered if you should share this as well.

“You don’t have to tell me, if you don’t want to.”

“No. It’s okay,” you can’t keep it to yourself forever, maybe you will feel better when you speak about it. “It was my sister.”

His eyes fixed on you. He was suddenly very interested.

“Your sister? What about her?”

“She… She died,” you finally said, your grip on the mug tightening, if you would have kept your eyes on him, you would have noticed that he wasn’t any bit surprised by this.

“I’m sorry,” you heard him say in a quiet voice.

“It was a long time ago but I still think about her some days…” you closed your eyes and breathed out. You can’t start crying now. “Okay, let’s stop being all emotional. I’m more interested in all this,” you said, gesturing to the area around you.

“What do you mean?” he asked. “I’m not getting divorced if you’re thinking about that.”

“That’s not what I mean. I was going to ask what’s going to happen now?”

“That’s actually what I wanted to talk to you about as well,” he said, taking out a key and sliding it along the table surface to you.

“What’s this?” you questioned.

“A key. You can go anywhere you want, I’m sure you won’t try to run away but since that incident with Jimin I can’t let you go wandering alone, so it will be with me or one the bodyguards. Other than this, enjoy yourself,” he smiled.

You picked up the key. You certainly didn’t expect this, well having a bodyguard is not very fun either but he finally gave you the freedom you longed so much.

The other few months went by so fast and you two lived more like roommates. He didn’t force you to do anything you didn’t feel like doing but his flirting never ceased. Now that you could actually go out, it all felt so normal. After a long time you felt happy and content with your life and he noticed that you smile more often when with him. You weren’t bored but you wanted to repay him somehow so one day you asked him about work.

“I have all this money, at least let me treat you.”

“You do it all the time anyway,” you pouted.

“Don’t you want to study instead?” and your eyes beamed up at his suggestion. He thought about what he said for a while and then changed his mind immediately. “No, you know what, it’s too dangerous. There’s too many guys in the campus. Nope, no way.”

“Ahh don’t give me false hope!”

“You know you can always work with me,” he said.

And you knew you could, he always told you that because that way you would be with him for most of the day. He spoke about his job often and didn’t hide anything from you but you wanted nothing to do with that part of his life. It was dark and cruel. Violence is not something you could get used to, so you refused for seemingly 100th time. Staying inside, you started to enjoy cooking again and despite him liking it very much, he often took you out on dates to such expensive places you never even dreamed. One evening, you were reading on your computer and noticed an article that had you in it. “Famous CEO finally taken.” You looked at the photo in the article from one of these dates you two had.

“A CEO?” you thought. “Well that’s one way to hide what’s he’s actually doing.”

You were so immersed in the article that you jumped up when Jongdae burst into your room through the door.

“Oh my God! Jongdae!”

“Y/N come with me, quick.” he said taking your hand and dragging you out of the room.

“Where are we going? When did you come back?” he usually worked really long hours and you were genuinely surprised to see him this early. He took you out to the balcony. The sky was clear and very beautiful.

“Come,” he said, guiding you to the railing.

“Why are we here exactly?” you asked him.

He smiled to you and looked down. You two stayed silent for a moment before you spoke again.

“Jongdae did something happen?”

“No, everything is okay. I just like being near you.”

He turned and looked at you.

“You know,” he said, taking something out of his jacket’s inner pocket. “I never got you that wedding ring.”

He opened the little box revealing a beautiful golden ring inside. You had no idea what’s happening.

“Is this a joke?”

“It’s certainly not, you signed those papers yourself,” he laughed.

“I can’t.”

“Y/N please. It may be just a ring to you but it would mean so much to me if you wore it, so can I?” he said taking your hand, he held it for a while before you finally nodded. He then took another ring out and you chuckled.

“You want me to put it on for you?” you asked and then slipped it on his finger.

It felt so strange actually wearing one and only now you realized that you are indeed married to this man.

“Happy?”

“I’m always happy with you,” he said, interlocking your fingers with yours. He stared deep into your eyes.

“Y/N,” he finally spoke. “You may have already noticed it but I’m utterly and extremely in love with you.”

You started blushing immediately after his sudden confession, especially since he was holding you so close. You felt kind of bad you couldn’t say the same to him yet or maybe it was just your stubbornness but in the heat of the moment you couldn’t stop yourself and wrapped your hands around his neck and tugged him into a kiss. The kiss was sweet but also passionate at the same time, you felt his hands slide down to your waist and you two had no intentions of stopping when somebody cleared their throat behind you. Jongdae pulled away.

“Am I interrupting something?” you looked at the man who had cat like eyes standing near the door to the balcony.

“Yes you fucking are, don’t you have eyes Minseok?” Jongdae was angry and annoyed, a side of him you didn’t enjoy seeing.

“You know, I don’t even care that I interrupted. All of us were trying to contact you since morning, where the hell were you?”

“Are you seriously here because of that?”

“No. I’m here because it’s urgent, something came up and you’re needed.”

“Can’t you do this without me?”

“We can’t,” the man glared at him. “All of us need to be there, so you better come with, you’re getting on my nerves as it is. I will be waiting outside, you have 3 minutes,” he said and walked away.

You looked at Jongdae who was trying his best to control himself.

“He ruined the mood and I was starting to enjoy myself,” he said, checking his clock. “It’s about 10 pm now, so don’t wait for me because I will probably only be back in the morning. We can continue what we started then,” he smirked and kissed your forehead before going out himself.

You stood there confused, still not sure what happened. Did you seriously just kiss him? You must be out of your mind. You looked at the ring on your finger and smiled to yourself. You had to admit it, the kiss was pretty good. You looked at the stars for a while but since you had nothing better to do after that, you went to sleep. You woke up early and he still hadn’t come back.  You have decided to spend your time cleaning the apartment while he was gone because you refused to hire maids. You rarely went to his office but since you were at it why not clean it as well. You piled up the documents neatly on his table when you noticed something laying on the floor, you bent down and picked it up. It was a photo. Your photo. Way back from high school. Where did he get something like that? You wanted to stand up but bumped your head into the bottom of the table and a bunch of other papers and documents fell down from underneath it. You looked at them and quickly realized it was you. All you. You couldn’t believe what you were seeing or rather you didn’t want to believe. There was your school club activities, addresses of all the places you have lived in, your routes home, day jobs, your friends list, parents, photos as young as teenager. Anything and everything it’s possible to know about you. You picked up another photo. It was your sister. Near the picture you saw something why all of this was hidden in the first place. You were studying and rereading through everything over and over again when you heard the familiar footsteps and that sweet voice call out to you.

“Y/N are you in there?”

On History and Pie

Summary:  A nonathletic!Jack fic, where grad student and history nerd, Jack Zimmermann meets the cute Samwell student/baker Eric Bittle at the Bread and Butter Bakery.  Will the two make a love connection?  For @devereauxsdisease and @victorineb who love this incarnation of Jack as much as I do.

They’d chatted at the bakery enough times that Bitty was able to pull the information from Jack. He’d started coming to the bakery about four weeks ago, and during that time Bitty became more and more charmed with the second year grad student.

He always sat in the corner armchair, ordered a black coffee, two macarons and a slice of whatever the pie of the day was. Bitty first noticed him when he came in to order a slice of Weary Willie cake.

Bitty loved his job at the bakery, it gave him some extra cash while he attended Samwell. Whenever Bitty was there, he was the de facto person in charge. Shirley and Spencer, the owners of Bread and Butter adored Bitty.

“We never had any kids of our own, so you’re the closest thing to it, Bitty,” Shirley said to him one evening over a cup of earl grey tea.

So Bitty stood there, face to face with the bluest eyes he’d ever seen the first time Jack walked in. The Clark Kent glasses in front of them did nothing to hide the fact that they were beautiful. It was a good face, a handsome face. He was burly and tall, and Bitty loved that. He smiled, and Bitty’s body language invited Blue Eyes to speak.

“Can I get a slice of the Weary Willie cake?”

“Sure can, handsome,” Bitty said as he began to ring up Blue Eyes’ order, who blushed furiously. “What else can I do you for?”

“Coffee. Black. Medium, please,” he replied looking down at the counter.

“Why don’t you go find yourself a seat and I’ll bring it out to you,” Bitty said with a warm smile.

“Thank you,” Blue Eyes said softly and then turned to walk toward the corner armchair.

When Bitty approached, Blue Eyes had pulled out a laptop and several textbooks, the one on top of the pile was called Foundations of Modern European Intellectual History.

“Doing a little light reading, huh?” Bitty said as he put the cake and coffee on the side table.

“Oh, haha. Yes.”

“Do you go to Samwell?”

“I’m finishing up my masters in history there,” he said as he held up his book.

“That’s great. I haven’t seen you here before,” Bitty said wanting to know more about History Blue Eyes.

“I saw the chalkboard outside listing the Weary Willie cake and the history nerd in me became curious.”

“Look at you! You certainly are a history major.”

“Did you make the cake?” Jack asked raising his eyebrows.

“Sure did. My moomaw had the recipe from her mama.”

“Well, it’s not often I find a somewhat obscure historical reference on my way back to the history building.”

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4

Credits to the gifs owners

You watch as Bucky turns all the lights on in the room and sits on the couch instead of in the fort. You wonder if you should have said something, it was obvious that talking about Natasha was so much more painful to him than the talk about to you Nathan.

You sit on the couch giving him some space “Natasha was my first and only love.  We met when we were teenagers…. kids actually. She was one of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen, with her big green eyes and red hair.” He takes a deep breath probably not knowing how to continue talking. “We started dating when we were 16, she was everything to me…. I knew that I wanted to marry her since the moment I saw her but she had her problems.”

He takes a picture of a drawer handing it to you, there were four people in the picture you can see that Steve and Peggy just got engaged for the big smile on their faces and for the way Peggy is showing the ring but what really caught your attention was the other couple.

It wasn’t over.

After your night with Jungkook he was on your mind more than ever. You didn’t go to any parties in the following days, but you couldn’t help but think of him during the evening, of if he was drinking to get drunk or to maintain appearances as he brought another girl to his bed. The idea of him, wrapped around a random girl, his tongue shoved down her throat, didn’t bother you.

No, what angered you was how he continued to consume your thoughts, even though you hated him more than you’d ever hated anyone else.

It wasn’t fair.

“William?” You bellowed from the kitchen. Your son hadn’t come down for dinner yet and you were beginning to  worry.

“William your food’s gonna get cold, love-” You marched through the hall and opened his bedroom door, losing your voice when you saw his window open and his sheets tied to the drain pipe outside.

“William!” You shrieked and ran to the window, sticking your head out. You looked at the drop from the second floor, it wasn’t much but you still worried for your small child.

Pulling your head back inside, you yanked the window closed and began searching for a sign of where he’d gone. You turned and noticed your phone lying on his dresser. That wasn’t where you left it, your eyebrows scrunched together and you read the screen it was left on. A Google search - Sherlock Holmes- leading to his website with his address: The Science of Deduction.

You cursed yourself for ever telling William his name. You could barely keep up with him, he was always 12 steps ahead of you, and he was only 6! Sighing, you looked out the window once more, knowing where he must have gone.

You grabbed your phone and keys, running out of your flat. His name floated around your head. Memories that you had tried to forget stringing back together in your mind.

“How many more times is this going to happen, Sherlock?” You yelled, you’d been stood up one time too many and you were sick of it. Sitting there, promising the waiter he would come, only to be left sitting there an hour later. All eyes on you as you left some cash at the table and finally gave up.

“It’s never seemed to bother you before.” He argued.

“Oh I promise you it has. You’re just never around to notice it.” You yelled back.

“Well I’m sorry if my job is a little more important than you.” He growled. Your stomach dropped. You knew he felt that way, but hearing him say it out loud made it feel real, and it killed you.

“I see…” You said quietly, shaking your head and turning towards the door.

“Y/N, I didn’t mean-” he began, realizing what he said.

“Yes you did, Sherlock, that’s the problem. You did mean it. I’ve never been enough for you, I’ve never been more important than your cases. I can barely hold your attention for more than a few minutes. Sorry I wasn’t clever enough or fascinating enough for you.” you yelled, grabbing some of your stuff and shoving it into your bag.

“What are you doing?” He asked, seriously.

“What does it look like genius?” You shot back.

“You’re leaving.” He spoke, as if it was a question.

“Not that you’ll notice.” You responded, truthfully.

“Don’t go.” He pleaded, but he didn’t sound very convincing.

“Make me. Sherlock, tell me I mean more to you than a case does. That you’d rather spend time with me then be out solving some crime. Tell me that, honestly, and I’ll stay.” You pleaded. If he couldn’t tell you that, then your relationship wasn’t going where you thought it was.

You waited for an answer. His mouth moved as if he was about to speak, but stopped and he looked to the floor, he stayed silent for far too long.

“Goodbye Sherlock.” you scoffed, closing the door, ending that chapter of your life.

Your feet hit the dirty pavement, running, praying. You knew Baker Street was only about a mile away, but you prayed that’s where he was. That he’d be okay, that if he was anywhere it was there. Because if he wasn’t there, you wouldn’t have a clue where to find him. Even if he is there, you weren’t ready to face this. To be drawn back to him: Sherlock Holmes.

Ever since William was born he had been causing you trouble. He wasn’t a bad kid, he was just so much smarter than you and so curious. It scared you how much he reminded you of Sherlock. Jesus, he even looked exactly like him. A miniature little Sherlock running around wreaking havoc on your life. But you loved the havoc, and you loved your son.

You remembered the day you found out you were pregnant with William.

“Mate, I’m going to the store do you need anything? Tampons? Food? Breakup ice cream?” Sharon, or Shazza as everyone called her, asked you on her way out of your shared flat.

“No thanks, I’ll be fine.” you laughed, but stopped when your roommate closed the door. You hadn’t needed those in a while… you counted on your finger how many months it’s been since you last period. Jesus.

You called your roommate a couple minutes later after frantically flipping through your calendar to make sure the dates lined up. You were trapping your foot anxiously, hoping she could discreetly pick up a pregancy test for you.

“Shazza, could you do me a favor?” You asked hurriedly when she picked up the phone.

“Finally gonna let me set you up with that guy from my spin class?” You could feel her smirk through the phone.

“No, listen while you’re out I need you to pick up something for me.” You spoke slowly.

“Sure love, what?” She asked, casually.

“A pregnancy test.” You whispered into the phone. No one was around but you felt embarrassed.

“Are you serious?” She yelled back.

    “Shh, yes.”

“I thought you were on the pill!” She exclaimed, just as shocked as you were. You could only imagine the looks she was getting in the store right now.

    “I am!” You retorted.

“I swear to God if that bastard knocked you up–” She began, but you stopped her mid-rant.

“Shazza! Please just get one…” You pleaded.

“Jesus ok, I’ll be home soon.” She said, hanging up the phone, leaving your mind to wander until she returned to confirm your suspicions.

You’ve always heard it said that waiting for a pregnancy test result was “ the longest five minutes of your life”. You thought that was an exaggeration but jesus were they right.

“What does it say?” Shazza asked after the timer went off.

“I don’t know, I can’t look. You do it.” You closed your eyes, scared.

“Oh my god,” Was her only reply.

“‘Oh my god’ what?” Your eyes flew open, scanning her face.

“You’re pregnant!” She jumped, a genuine smile on her face.

“I’m pregnant…” You couldn’t help but be happy, you’ve always wanted a child. Although you pictured it happening differently.

“Are you gonna tell him?” She asked, addressing the elephant in the room.

    “No.” You answered simply.

    “No! Why not?” She yelled.

“Because! Because he hates kids, he’d never have time for a family. Frankly the best thing will be for him not to know, I can take care of this child on my own, thank you very much.” You said proudly.

“Damn you’re stubborn,” she smiled and shook her head,”but I’ll be here, I’ll help you in whatever you need.”

    “Thanks Shazza.” You hugged her.

    “Anytime, love.”

That was how William was brought into your life, a surprise at every turn since. All you wanted to do was protect him, and you feared in protected him you only caused him more pain.

You had managed, raising a child on your own, but you feared he needed some fatherly contact that you just couldn’t provide.

You were half way to Baker Street when it started to pour. You tried to catch a cab but none of them would stop. You were splashed by a passing car and groaned.

You should have known this would happen, that he would search him out. It was just last week that the questions you normally avoided were given answers.

“Mommy…I know you don’t like talking about it, but I have this family tree project for school and I…well my tree is half empty.” William held his drawing up to you. You were struck with a pang of guilt.

“You don’t have to tell me now, only a name, I’ll understand.” He said, he always knew how to outsmart you.

“Oh, baby, come here.” You patted the bed next to you and he jumped up. He positioned his paper and pencil and looked up to you, ready to write it down.

“Sherlock.” You said quietly, it tasted strange in your mouth, foreign almost.

“And his parents?” He asked, batting his eyelashes at you. He really had you wrapped around his finger.

“Uh.. Wanda and Tim.” You took a moment, hardly being able to remember. You’d only actually met them once, and they didn’t even know you and Sherlock were dating at the time. That must have been… almost 8 years ago now.

“And did he have any brothers or sisters?” He asked. Thinking back on this you wondered if his ‘family tree project’ was even real, or just a ruse designed to get you to give up the name of his father.

“A brother, Mycroft.” You watched as  he filled in the enlarged leaves on the tree and jumped off your bed.

“Is that it?” You asked, surprised at his sudden absence.

“Yes, thanks mummy!” He rushed away excitedly, you raised an eyebrow in suspicion but let it go and got back to your work.

You were now standing in front of 221B Baker Street, soaked to the bone, frantically knocking on the door.

“Y/N?” Sherlock answered the door, surprised to see you.

“Is he here?” You asked hurriedly.

“You’re soaking wet.” He said, pulling you inside.

“Is he here!” You asked again.

“Upstairs” He nodded. You ran past him, taking the stairs two by two, thanking God you weren’t wearing heels.

“William!” You yelled, Sherlock was rushing behind you. You stepped into a familiar living room that hadn’t changed a bit only to see your son sitting by the fire sipping tea. Wearing his favorite shirt, little tie and coat.

“Jesus I was so worried.” You knelt in front of his chair and hugged him, inspecting him, making sure he was okay.

“I knew you would be, but I had to know, I’m sorry mummy.” He looked guilty. You kissed his forehead, knowing this time would come some day.

“Y/N…” Sherlock said from the doorway, you stood and whipped around caught off guard, forgetting he was there.

“Can we speak for a moment” He motioned out to the hall. You nodded, wrapping your arms around you to create some warmth and comfort. You were still soaking wet. Your hair dripping slightly onto the wood floors.

“Is he mine?” He asked, wasting no time at all. You looked up to him and nodded.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” He asked, a hint of sadness in his eyes.

“Why would I. We had just broken up, I wanted nothing to do with you then.” You answered honestly.

    “And now?” He asked, hopefully.

    “Now?” You asked.

“Now I’d like to be able to spend some time with my son. He’s almost too smart for his own good. I mean jesus he looks just like me, I want to make sure he doesn’t turn out like I did.” Sherlock looked to the floor.

“What are you saying?” You reached out and took his hand, you could tell he was struggling to find his words and you tried to comfort him.

“I’m saying I’d like to help, in any way you’ll let me. I’d like to be there for him. I’m sorry, for the way things ended, the way I treated you, never being there. I’d like to be there now. Please.” He spoke with so much sincerity that you would argue this wasn’t the same Sherlock you left 6 years ago. Something had changed, he’d changed, seemingly for the better.

“Alright, but only because he needs his father. I’ll need time, Sherlock, to adjust to this.” You whispered, realizing how close the two of you were standing.

“I know. Thank you” He kissed your forehead, and headed back inside the living room, only to see William looking through old case files on his desk.

“What’s this?” William asked curiously, raising a photograph in the air.

“A beheaded nun.” Sherlock said, casually glancing at it.

“Jesus” You rushed over to the desk and pulled the picture out of his hands.

“Cool.” William said, now curious, wanting more of Sherlock’s crazy life.

“Most certainly not cool.” You said. They both looked up to you and rolled their eyes. Like father, like son.

You couldn’t help but smile at how similar they were, and how your life had seemed to fall back into place. Your son gained the father he’d secretly needed, and you gained back the man who was once the love of your life.

It would be hard: going back to some sense of normalcy, forgiving sherlock completely, but watching your son look upon him with admiration and love was going to make the process so much easier.

Bellamy is aware that living with Clarke was going to come with some challenges.

(Or, as Octavia put it, rather excitedly, “It’s going to be a total fucking shitshow, and Raven and I have a bet going on who would commit murder first.”)

But despite their friends utmost certainty that things were going to crash and burn within the first week, they’ve been happily living together for the past six months, so he made sure to tell them to suck it after they hit the two week mark, because he’s a responsible adult.

That isn’t to say that it’s a walk in the park either. He and Clarke still argue about every little thing, but that’s just how they communicate. Now they just add arguing about domestic things such as whose turn it is to do the dishes, or why hasn’t he taken out the trash yet into the mix as well. He maybe likes it a bit too much, but no one needs to know about that.

He’s also become privy to a lot more of her quirks which- he likes to think that being friends, or at least acquaintances, with Clarke for over four years meant that he knew her fairly well, but once they move in, it becomes a whole other story.

For example, he learns that despite being left handed, she brushes her hair and teeth with her right, she always has to keep a full cup of water on her bedside table at night, and she needs more pillows than necessary to sleep.

Perhaps the most interesting quirk of hers is that she’s always stealing his clothes, all the fucking time.

I was sat alone in the library of my university, the only other person here being the little old librarian. She reminded me of my grandma: sweet and funny, and she always smelled like cinnamon. She also told the best stories, her stories.

I got up to put the book that I had just finished in the drop box.

“Finished already sweetheart? Didn’t you just start reading that about two hours ago?” I heard her sweet voice speak up.

I chuckled lightly, “I am. But you know me, I love to read.” I spoke softly. It was true though, the minute I open a book, I get lost in the beautiful words that litter the tattered pages.

⭐️ come away with me , by @fukcinglouis :  Louis had such big plans. He wanted so much out of life, and so did Amy. Now Bridget is going to grow up without a mother, and she’s always going to wonder what it would be like if this hadn’t happened. He wonders if she’ll blame him for her mother’s death as she gets older, or if she’ll understand that this is just as painful for Louis as it is for her. Louis doesn’t know how he’s going to raise her on his own, because he’s a fantastic father, yes, but he’s always been the fun parent, and Amy was in charge of the rules. He doesn’t know how to make sure Bridget has everything she needs all the time, doesn’t know how to make her favorite meal or how to do that one braid she loves to have in her hair or how to teach her to be the best person she can be. He doesn’t know how to live without Amy, he doesn’t know what he’s going to do. Or, Louis has to pick up the pieces of his and his daughter’s life after his wife dies, and Harry is a beautiful stranger that just wants to help.

Larry single dad Louis (80k) : this is hurting a lot tbh. Widower Louis (and fair warning, you’ll see his wife in the first chapter), a very big sexual identity crisis, a lot of angst … and it’s awesome. Kind of share that for the smut!

⭐️The Oldest Magic Word  , by anonymous : Louis gets called up to play Seeker for the English National Team and when he gets there, he finds out that Harry Styles, his old school crush, is the Team Healer.

Larry Harry Potter AU (18k) : say hello to the HP Exchange ! also sayyyy helllo to teasing/pining/sexual tension !! GREAT :)) (love you forever for the shower sex)(bottom Louis)

⭐️When You Look Like That , by @hrrytomlinson : “You… you still have the dress form I got you for your eighteenth birthday? You’ve kept it for ten years, Harry?” Louis’ eyes flick around Harry’s studio. It’s big and modern, with floor to ceiling windows that help flood the room in bright sunlight, just like the lobby. However, he can’t stop staring at the faded, but present, heart surrounding the “H + L” written delicately in Louis’ handwriting in the center of the mannequin. Louis is a songwriter who is nominated for a Grammy and he needs a suit. Fast. He seeks out help from a very popular, very mysterious designer who just so happens to be his ex-boyfriend.

Larry AU (16k) famous-famous AU and ex to lovers , with a great story, fluffy and not angsty or smutty :)

⭐️ Be with me so happily , by @briannamarguerite Or … the one where Harry Styles has a bad reputation and a heart of gold, and Louis Tomlinson wishes he wasn’t so enchanted by boys who looked like Disney characters and wore shirts with bumble bees on them. [aka Louis is the director of the Styles Elephant Sanctuary and really doesn’t want to babysit his funder’s spoiled lay-about son for two months]

Larry AU (42k) : rich and kind of famous Harry, sassy Louis, some hate to love who doesnt last long, a bit of angst (and elephants will make me you emo) , also yay smut ! (kind of share that)

⭐️ a body wishes to be held & held , by turnyourankle : Harry wants to return the favour after Louis helps him out with his heat.

Larry a/b/o (7k) : let’s be real : it’s smut. Hellooooo dirty talks ! Omega Harry !
