I had made it back home and was staying in my apartment which I left behind for Calum and his tour. Nothing was touched, and it was lonely. Empty even. I was unpacking my suitcase and carry on when I found an envelope with my name written on it. I was curious, and ripped it open only to find one concert ticket, a VIP pass, and a note. The note read, “We’ll miss you. Here’s a ticket to our closest show near your apartment. Please come and see us.” Ashton had probably slipped it in my bag before I left the hotel. The concert ticket they left me was actually their last show of the tour and it was about a 2 hour drive for me. I sighed, and put it on my kitchen counter and thought about it.
It took a lot of convincing from friends and family, but I had decided to go to the boys last concert. Not for Calum, but for the other 3 guys who were like family to me. I had gotten ready super early so that way I could drive to the arena and be there on time. I was dressing in a long sleeve, black, bodycon dress with a low back, and some strap up sandels to go with it. I mean, I knew I wasn’t going for Calum but I knew he’d see me, so I had to dress to impress.
As I was sitting my car stuck in some minor traffic, someone on the radio started talking. It was normal, it was like their ‘celebrity gossip of the day’ type thing, that a lot of radio stations do.
“Good afternoon all you listeners, we have some exciting news for you. Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris broke up! Say what?” I laughed at how enthusiastic he was. “And also, Calum Hood and his girlfriend have seem to have broken up too? And he’s already been seen with a new blonde last night? Stay tuned for more-“ I angrily shut up the radio and continued to drive in silence. A few tears brimming in my eyes.
As I got to the arena, I pulled out my VIP pass from my purse and walked backstage. Everyone was running around getting things set up for the last and hopefully best show of the tour. I instantly saw Ashton tightening his drum kit and ran and tackled him with a hug.
“Hey hey hey! If you would’ve made me break those I would’ve made you pay for repairs.” He pulled back with a big smile on his face. I brought him in again and clung on him.
“Thanks for the ticket stupid.” I hit him playfully and he gave me a stunned look.
“What? You didn’t want to come and see your favorite boys on their last show?” We both laughed and I soon heard a girlish shriek. Ashton and I jumped when we realized it was Mikey, being the goofball he is.
“You came! We didn’t know if you would even consider it!” He hugged me tightly with his guitar strapped onto his body.
“I came for you guys ok, not Calum.” I pointed sternly at both of them in defense.
“Well you certainly dressed like you did.” Michael said and I elbowed his lower ribs.
“Y/N!” I heard another high pitched voice come toward me until I realized it was Arzaleya. She quickly ran up to hug the life out of me, taking me back and making me stumble. Luke followed behind her and hugged me along with her.
“I’m so glad you’re here! I missed you!” She said in my ear and I smiled.
“I missed you guys too, you have no idea.”
Arz and I watched from the crowd once again and I felt like I was back to where I started. I was for sure Calum had the blonde girl he was seen with either here or in the crowd since I hadn’t seen him once backstage. The boys had just gotten done playing ‘Good Girls’ when Calum took centerstage. He spoke into the mic, and my heart stopped as his eyes found mine.
“This song goes out to somebody who I hurt, a lot. This is literally, everything I didn’t say to them.”
And the sweet harmonious “Oh’s” started being sung by the boys. I started to tear up,and Arzaleya held my hand as Calum’s eyes didn’t leave the sight of me.
“Wait, don’t tell me. Heaven is a place on Earth. I wish I could rewind all the times that I didn’t, show you what you’re really worth.” He sang, and I knew deep down in my heart it was meant for me and my grip tightened on Arz’s hand.
“Takin every breathe away, with all of the mistakes I made, from all the letters that I’ve saved, this is everything I didn’t say. I wish I could’ve made you stay, but I’m the only one to blame, I know that it’s a little too late, this is everything I didn’t say.”
I ran backstage with Arzaleya and sat on the boy’s couch collected with their flannels and meals from before they went on stage. I had my head in my hands and she knew what I was contemplating.
“You’re really going to give him a second chance huh?” I looked up at her with tears in my eyes.
“I’m not upset with that. Trust me, if I was in your position, I would take Luke back immediantely. And it’s because…we love them. Simple as that.” She took the words right out of my mouth as she sat next to me, and gave me a friendly squeeze.
The boys had finished their concert and Arz got up to congradulate Luke. Ashton and Michael high-fived, and Calum looked up at me, setting his bass down next to the couch. I sprung up and lunged toward him, taking in his sweaty self, and barried my head into his neck. Even though I was extremely heart broken by Calum, I had missed the smell and feel of him. I felt his arms wrap around me securely, afraid of ever letting me go again. At this moment I didn’t care about what they said on the radio, or the pictures, or what they paparazzi said. All I cared about was Calum.
“I’m so sorry princess. I could never replace you. I could never let someone else take your place. Please please give me another chance.” I pulled away from him, wiping the sweat from his forehead and smiled.
