i will practice with yellow more

anonymous asked:

How were ym dynamics during 2014 in your opinion? I've always thought that was the pining era at least for yg ㅠㅠ

i agree !! i generally think that up to inu era especially, they were only growing even closer and getting to know each other on a more intimate level and 2014 kind of reflects that because of how increasingly playful jimin became with him throughout the year and how this was when yoongi told us that Their Colour Is Yellow and they stay behind in the practice room to talk about music,,,,,

hey guys! i’ve noticed lately that a lot of gifsets/edits of moana, especially pastel ones, have been whitewashing her skin, and i know that this isn’t just a problem in moana gifs, so i thought it might be a good idea to make a comprehensive guide on how to avoid whitewashing poc/color poc in general. this guide will be split into three parts: vibrant gifs, pastel gifs, and dark gifs (any of the tips i give for gifs can be applied to edits as well – it’s even easier to avoid whitewashing poc in edits, because you can color it normally and then erase the lightening layers over the person’s skin).

so, without any further ado, here we go!

Bird Emoji Review

My dude @zaplayden and I couldn’t find a review of the Bird emoji so let’s do this

Pure evil.  Excessive gradients only intensify his evil intentions. There is no sweetness in this child of darkness. 0/5

This is a pure, sweet boy. Absolutely perfect bird child. 5/5

Ancient bird friend of legend. A little stiff and out of touch, but a very reliable friend.  4/5 I would trust this fellow.

A lumpy bean friend. Kinda smells funny. Vacant stare. He’s a good boy, but needs some vacation time.  3/5

Pure intentions, but this boy looks confused. Where is he? Let him go home. Also kind of looks like he’s made of marshmallows??? 4/5

Imposter. 0/5  This is a blue fire with yellow lipstick. Stop this. He’s smug about about it too, wtf.

I have high hopes for his future. He is a good boy with good intentions. I would trust this young man. 5/5

A clumsy boy. Something is a little weird about this bird, but he still tries his best. A good friend. 4/5

An eager boy. He wants to fly but needs more practice. I support his dreams and I hope he achieves great things. 4/5

Paranoid fellow. Blames everyone else for his bullshit. Will never find love. 0/5

Eager to impress.  Might be a double agent. A handsome boy, but I do not trust him. 3/5

The world does not deserve this kind of purity. 5/5

Witchy Studying Tips

As I’m currently studying for finals, I thought I’d share some of my favorite witchy ways to encourage myself to stay focused and avoid procrastinating while studying. Hopefully something here can help you out too!

Charm something that you will use while studying! This could be a specific pen, mug, or even a piece of jewelry! I do this by holding the object and filling it with energies that will be the most useful to my studying, such as focus, concentration, clear-mindedness, calmness, etc. You can do this with crystals, sigils, or just through channeling your own energy. I find it most effective to charge the object beforehand, and then when it’s time to study you’ll be able quickly boost those helpful energies!

Keep some crystals near you as you work! Here are some of my personal favorites to use while studying…

  • Sodalite: For intellect, logic, understanding, and efficiency. Sodalite also helps with communication, so it’s perfect when preparing for a speech or presentation!
  • Quartz: For mental clarity and to enhance the properties of the other stones.
  • Tiger’s Eye: For keeping you focused by filtering out distractions, strengthening willpower, and helping you make practical sense of your work.
  • Turquoise: For relieving stress
  • Citrine: For energy – I consider it my “caffeine crystal!”

Of course, you should use the correspondences and crystals that work best for you, these are just some ideas!

Light some candles! Again, use the correspondences that work for you, but here’s my method! Because I’m not meditating or focusing on the candle itself, I’ll usually burn a scented candle rather than choosing the most relevant colored candle. The scent I choose will depend on the type of studying I’m doing. For anything requiring more creativity (like writing a paper), I use warmer, comforting scents, such as cinnamon and vanilla, and for more intense studying I’ll burn cool scents such as citrus, morning breeze, or pine. If you prefer to use color correspondences, I’d recommend either blue (wisdom, focus, calm), yellow (intellect, memory), or white (clarity)!

Connect with nature! Fresh air and the sounds of nature are one of the best ways for me to relax, focus, and concentrate on my work. Of course, the most obvious answer is to work outside, but that’s not always the most practical solution. Even just opening a window and getting as much natural light as possible (in daytime, of course) works wonders! If my neighbors are being too loud for this to work, I’ll sometimes pull up a nature sounds playlist on Spotify, or an atmospheric nature video on YouTube.

Try using the Forest app! Okay, I’ll admit this one is definitely not specifically witchy, but I find it very useful so I thought I’d mention it. Basically, it’s a productivity app where you specify an amount of time you want to stay focused, choose a tree species, and then while that tree is growing you can’t use your phone (there’s also a Chrome extension!). The virtual “coins” you earn by staying focused can even be used to plant real trees through Trees for the Future. It’s a super cute, nature-themed way to stay on task, and I think there’s a lot of potential there for other witchy things like setting intentions, meditation, etc. This app does cost money (I think it’s $0.99?), but there is a similar free app called FocusNow, I just personally prefer Forest!

I hope you found at least some of this was helpful, and good luck with your studying! 💕

Tony creates the most beautiful flowers. It takes a lot of work, a lot of effort. He crafts each one with love and care. He readies the trees to bloom and pollinate, to wake up from their long slumber. He’s proud when his plants withstand Natasha’s steady heat and glaring rays, her thunderstorms and torrential downpours.

He sees to the newest generations of animals and insects as well. Some don’t make it to adulthood but he tries very hard anyway. His favorites are the squirrels and the bees. He’s proud of his creations, and they go on to live their best lives.

Steve hates that he has to kill all of them. But it is his duty—the earth cannot sustain endless life, endless birth. The flowers wither and the trees droop to sleep. The bees go into hibernation, or they die in his first cold snap. The squirrels hurry to ready themselves for winter. Some don’t—don’t make it. But it is his duty. So he carries on, until Bucky comes to blanket the land with snow.

Bucky listens to Steve lament about this for centuries, about how he hates to ruin Tony’s hard work, hates to kill the things he puts so much love and affection into. He listens, stoic, because he understands—he lingers just enough to watch Tony begin to create his spring every year, begin to create life.

And then one year Tony catches him lingering, and he comes to him, eyes wide and bright, earthy brown like the soil his flowers and trees spring from, and he whispers, “Does Steve like my gifts?”

And Bucky—blinks, unable to come up with an answer.

Tony doesn’t wait for one, pressing on, “It took me a long time to figure out flowers that can withstand Natasha’s summer. I hope he likes them. And the squirrels! They’re very industrious. I thought he’d like them because he also works very hard. I know—the bees were a mistake, they can’t handle the cold very well, but—but they’re cute, and they pollinate my flowers. I hope he doesn’t mind the bees.”

Bucky manages to flee without causing Tony too much stress, and when he meets Steve at the tail end of his autumn, he says, “Tony says they’re gifts.”

“Gifts?” Steve repeats dumbly.

“He made them for you. The flowers, and the squirrels, and the bees. He made them for you, Steve.” And Steve lingers as Bucky blankets the land with snow, struck dumb, because how—how did he not know that they were gifts?

“Tony,” Bucky says, lingering at the beginning of Tony’s spring. “He told me to tell you he loves them.” Tony beams at him. “He wants you to linger with Natasha. He can’t—leave a gift for you, but maybe you’ll see him make it.”

Tony lingers even though Natasha complains, so he makes lilies for her still waters, her oases from the heat. She complains less. He fights the pull to go to sleep. It doesn’t work, and he falls into slumber on the longest day of summer.

Natasha laments that she did not concede to let Steve have an early autumn. “Next year,” she promises, which is all the apology Steve gets, but he understands.

“He’s not angry,” Bucky tells Tony when he finds him fretting and trying to make extra life. “He’s only sorry he missed you. He’s had more time to practice. You’ll like his gift.”

Tony lingers as long as he can, eyelids drooping, but this time at least Natasha helps him stay awake with cooler days and a honeysuckle breeze. She pinches him when he starts to doze, lets him powernap but ultimately wakes him up again.

It’s from one of these naps that he wakes up to a field of fire, of reds and oranges and yellows and pinks. He gapes, because he didn’t—he didn’t make these flowers. They’re lovely. They’re beautiful. He looks up as Steve approaches, choked up.

“I had to thank you for your gifts somehow,” Steve whispers, presses a kiss to Tony’s forehead. “Thank you, Tony.”

“Steve,” Tony says, throat blocked with tears.

“Go to sleep, darling,” Steve soothes, and lays Tony down on the bed of chrysanthemums, and presses kisses to his drooping eyelids and his cheeks and finally on his lips. “Goodnight, my sweet.”

“Steve,” Tony mumbles against his lips, and then sighs, and it tastes like honey and lavender.

“Tony,” Steve whispers back against his lips.

When Tony wakes up at the beginning of spring, his lips still taste like cinnamon and pine.

You had grown up in a world of black and white. Color was unknown to you, but you remembered how your parents described colors to you to make you feel a little better.

Red is like fire. You know when you feel angry or frustrated? It’s like that. It’s hot and bold and angry.”

“Yellow is warm, bright and friendly. It’s the color of the sun, love. Makes you feel like someone wrapped you up in a blanket on a cold day.”

“Blue is the color of water. It’s cool. It’s cold. I think you’d like it quite a lot.”

This wasn’t abnormal. You wouldn’t get to see the colors your parents’ got to see until you met your soulmate. You knew it would be a long time until then, but hearing your parents describe the colors to you was enough for the time being.

The Fall Outs and Fly Offs of Confessions

When Lena confesses her love to Kara, Kara thinks ‘this is it, I’ve ruined another friendship by not loving them back.’

Because she knows that she likes guys, even if she hasn’t liked the ones she is friends with.

And when Lena stops by less and less, when Jess the receptionist tells her “this is actually a really important meeting” more and more, Kara is crushed.

So it’s isn’t until she brings it up to Alex and Maggie at the bar after a bit of alien ale, that she remembers.

“Well, actually,” Maggie says gently, one hand resting on her sister’s arm, “you technically could like girls too. Not that you do, but ‘I like guys’ isn’t really an argument. Has to be that you don’t like the other thing.”

Kara wants to be able to quickly say ‘well, I don’t’, but she hasn’t really thought about it. She came to Earth just as she was beginning to experience romantic feelings, and Earth has always made it seem like boys were the only option. She didn’t feel anything for any humans when she landed. They were too different, and she had too much going on.

In fact, other than celebrity crushes, when has Kara experienced feelings for anyone on Earth?

Have I loved anyone?

Oh. Yes, of course, she remembers.

On Krypton.

She had crushes on many people, just before it died.

As Kara cycles through the people she had a crush on, a boy from her lessons, one who lived across from her, a flash of long, jet black hair, the blue sun of Casador and a girl whose family was in the same tourist group as hers enter her mind.

She leans back suddenly. Alex and Maggie are mildly startled.

“I like girls.”

She stands up, knocking against the table and nearly spilling all of their drinks.

Alex and Maggie are thoroughly startled.

Kara stares at them intensely, not really seeing them. They exchange a quick and confused glance.

Kara practically flies into the ceiling.

“I like Lena!”

Kara heads immediately for the door, almost crashing into a yellow fella, a table, and the waitress trying to clean it up, before she finally just super speeds out of there.

They laugh and Alex reluctantly pulls out ten dollars and hands it to Maggie.

“I bet they’re together by the end of the week.”

Alex shakes her head. “Today.”

“You’re on, Danvers.”

(okay so just as a brief note, i was originally going to make this ref more fancier and cleaner like my Lapis redesign, but because i ran out of motivation to do this (while at the same time wanting to get this done and out of the way so i can move on to other things I’ve been wanting to draw), i just sorta rushed drawing this and i made this into a much simpler ref. so i apologize if this looks pretty bad ;o;)

lately I’ve been seeing a lot of redesigns for some of the SU characters (esp. for Lapis and Pearl) but I haven’t really seen a lot of Peridot redesigns floating around, so I decided to make one myself!

so I’ll go ahead and talk about my thoughts that went into this redesign under the cut:

I Don’t Remember That Part

Characters: Dean, Sam, Reader

Word Count: 1,103

Warnings: mild language, drunken shenanigans, less than effective comebacks

A/N: This was written for Rosie & Nicki’s Impossible Prompts Challenge. Congrats to both of you on 500! My prompt was: I came to gank monsters and get drunk, and I just finished ganking monsters. I’ve never written drunk anyone before, so bear with me on this @rosie-winchester and @nickiwinchester97. And thanks to my letter checker/constant encourager @hannahindie and my PA for this project @wheresthekillswitch (she helped me word…I love you…sometimes :P)

“A Shōjō? This should be fun!”

Famous last words.

You see, when I agreed to this plan I thought that I’d seen the Winchesters drunk before. After particularly long hunts, when we all wanted to blow off some steam, both brothers tended to knock back one too many rounds. They didn’t have much of a filter with that much alcohol running through their veins, and many a colorful line would have me snorting into my beer bottle as the night progressed. I’d normally drive them home, random complaints and commentary drifting from the backseat.

But this.

Well.

This was a different ballgame altogether.

“Y/N! The banana! Give me the… that… Potassium!”

I blinked heavily, focusing on the object in my hands until it came into a slightly fuzzy focus. Yellow, slightly green on the top, just the way I liked it. But…why the hell am I holding a banana? My stomach growled, and I reached up with my other hand, fumbling as I tried to break the peel.

Official ranking of every cowboy emoji on emojipedia

i feel like this cowboy wants to sell me something and i don’t like it. that big toothy grin, the empty eyes, the too-shiny hat with its boxy crown. 2/10, don’t trust this one

…is it an egg with a drawn-on face and a tiny hat plopped on top? A little chick? Someone’s thumb? It’s pretty cute, whatever it is. The colors, the hat shading, the surprising head-shape, the mouth/beak… 8/10

A grim, stoic drifter type–you can tell by the way his hat’s pulled down low, and the bland little smile. Not sure what to make of the bold outline and complete lack of a line for the hat brim though. 6/10

A determined, plucky boy. His hat is very tall and makes me think The Man With The Yellow Hat more than The Man With No Name. 5/10

The Apple cowboy’s dopier cousin with a nicer, floppier hat. Just give him a drink and a slap on the back. He’s harmless, if slightly tedious company. 4/10 weird gradient

A beautiful boy with a beautiful hat. I want that hat. Look how it shades his eyes–so practical and handsome. 10/10

Kind of a minimalist version of the Facebook cowboy? Looks like a Playmobil. Cute. I don’t know if I believe in that hat though. But it does have a nice wide brim. 7/10

A round cheery boy with a funny little hat. Looks like he’s got bear ears if you stare too long. 9/10 that smile is so tiny and cute, i don’t want to hurt his feelings

Wow. This guy is just sooo happy to be here and honestly, I’m happy for him. Kinda nervous, but happy. 11/10 take it easy, little buddy. we’re all rooting for you.

Hypericum x moserianum, Hypericaceae

It’s such a grey and rainy day today here in Glasgow that I could only write about something big, bright and yellow, like the large blossoms of this ornamental variety of St. John’s-wort, whose parents are H. calycinum and H. patulum, both already quite showy. This clump-forming, perennial shrub is obviously a pleasure to look at (it might not actually give me sun endorphins, it’s as close as I can get), but by now you are probably aware the focus of my blog is more on learning to recognise species naturally occurring and with practical uses, especially edible ones with medicinal properties and those which is a good idea to have in your garden to attract wildlife and encourage biodiversity. So, although this variety is still quite beneficial to pollinators (it’s easy to see it covered in bumblebees when in full bloom, luckily it wasn’t turned into an inaccessible double-flowered/sterile, pointless creature), I will also write about the native species of Hypericum which you are most likely to encounter, as they are much more interesting and relevant in herbalism.
