I'm the "first" one and I agree with the other anon, Portugal is fantastic, if you have opportunity you should come here and we don't even have summer school (I think, from the high schools that I know, and they are a lot, not one has summer school)

Hahahaha, I would love to see Portugal OuO
And, I’m actually past high school, but, someday I will go XDDD

I’d really like to someday commemorate the birds that I’ve worked with over my career thus far – Ranging from RPAs, fighters, and bomber aircraft in USAF and USN inventory, and then some of the coalition birds… I guess in a way I already have, starting with one of the smallest of my ‘birbs’, Sardiryx!

Did you know… Sardiryx performs the same ISR and kinetic strike support for the Sartian Aerial Forces as an MQ-1/MQ-9 (Predator/Reaper) in the USAF? Due to her small size she cannot carry many munitions (just like the RPAs), but she can provide excellent ISR to coordinate other strike assets onto a tgt or conduct PoL for later deliberate strikes, amongst other things. Where she really shines is her targeting expertise in understanding how to systematically shutdown any target system; and her munitions drop within inches to a couple of feet from her target! She may be young, but damn is she good at targeting. She was trained by the best! 'v’

If anyone is interested, would you guys like to read more on the parallels between my characters and my military career?

Do you have a specific person that you use as a reference for Axel's realistic drawings? I'm not asking cause it looks familiar but he just seems to have such individualistic features in your drawings! Sometimes realistic drawings look all somewhat generic but yours each seem to be their own people

No, I mostly just look at character’s models and face structure and go off what specific ones they have and implement stuff that also plays a role in facial structure like more realistic rendering of traits in certain ethnicities the characters are or what I headcanon them to be (like drawing Xigbar as half-East Asian, Xaldin as half-black (i hc them as having the same mom and different dads), etc.) along with other small features like giving them dimples, freckles, scars, whatever.

I mostly end up drawing him looking more like his newer model, even though I like the facial appearance of his old one so rip I’ll get there someday

Favorite line you’ve ever written? “I will always ache with the memory, and it will not be a weakness.” (The line requires some backstory into the plot to understand its implications, but it meant a lot to me lol)

Most inspirational quote you’ve ever read or heard that’s still important to you? In terms of writing, this one definitely motivates me, because it’s a reminder of what type of ‘writer’ I used to be, and how I see a lot of other aspiring writers get lost: “Write. Don’t talk about writing. Don’t tell me about your wonderful story ideas. Don’t give me a bunch of ‘somedays’. Plant your ass and scribble, type, keyboard. If you have any talent at all, it will leak out.” -Glen Cook

In general, I’ve always liked this quote that I picked up while growing up in show business:  “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.”

I remembered, that the small one doesn’t have name… Well, now his name is Ziggs, after my favorite character from League of Legends:

I had 12 small snails, and he is the last one. Everyone found their new home. but he was the smallest and people were like “give me big snail”. So now I guess he’ll live with me and Deathwing (the big one, his parent).

Someday I’ll adopt a cat, but now I don’t have money for a cat of even humster.

Hi Robin, I have a question. Do you think it's too late to study music (as in complete a degree in an university) in your 30's or 40's? I really want to pursue a music degree but unfortunately my parents are against it and I've planned my future in a different direction. However, I still want to fulfill my dream someday but it will have to be when I'm much older and settled down. Do you think that's too late?

Definitely not. One of my friends in my undergrad had a full career before she went to music school and she is an incredible musician.

Hi DeeDee I kind of have a request. I know you don't play with premade Sims that much but could you make a video on the Simetria YouTube channel where you go to Belladonna Cove and makeover one of the apartments in an apartment lot or do another how to pose video with a fancier pose box but use the premades

Hi! I’m sorry, but I’m not interested in them :/ Maybe I’ll do another posing video someday, but it (probably) won’t feature premades :)

about the ask meme: Q and F?

Q-  Do you have any discarded scenes/storylines/projects?

Uh yes I do actually! I haven’t,,, actively deleted it because it’s 17k and I still hold out hope for it one day,, someday,,, but yeah it’s a SteveTony guardian angel au where Tony is ‘assigned’ Steve but like,, he really doesn’t want him bc Skinny 1940′s!Steve get’s himself into Too Much Shit and it will go down on Tony’s record if he fails him,, so yeh there’s a whole bunch of guardian angel! reincarnation! enemies/friends/ lovers and temporary character death (yeah tony has to stay with steve as he dives into the ocean FUN!) stuff in there and. I am highkey attached to it. However there is. bIG plothole and. Yeah. I can’t continue it until I can work around it WHICH IS SAD BC. I don’t know how to fix it lmao the general backstory is. Convoluted as FUCK and just. messy.

F- Care to share a favorite hurt/comfort fic?

Hmm. This is pretty Tony-Centric and the stevetony only comes at the end and before that. BOY. BOUYYYYYYYYYYYYY. LE GARCON. HOLY SHIT HONESTLY. This was one of the first fics I literally ever read at all and it genuinely scarred me holy fucking shit okay it’s Iron Man Yes, Tony Stark…Not Recommended by Lilsmartass. I haven’t read that fic in months but I can remember it from memory. Seared into my tony-loving mind. god. Seriously proceed with a bit of caution bc. Tony gets bullied and it’s sad as fuck. I was sobbing in the club. Not just crying. Sobbing.  It was three am I was so young and unprepared for that. God.

More Watertribe Lance
Also avatar Lance this time because we talked about this with friends and we are lance trash we wondered what kind of pet Lance would have if he was the avatar… Like Aang has Appa and Korra has Naga.

And we ended up with a Peacock-Lion because it just suits him perfectly

(also it was supposed to be Keith’s pet -bc yeah it’s definitely more a firenation-ish beast- but things happened ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) i’ll write headcanons someday lmao)

Hey Dana. I was wondering if you have any plans to develop and pitch a show of your own. If you do, what advice do you have for people who want to create their own show?

I did have plans to pitch a show. And I pitched it! And Disney bought it! And now I’m developing it!  It’s difficult and exciting ESPECIALLY because I’m doing all this for the first time. I hope I can show some images someday!

If I were to give one piece of advice to past me, it’d be to get comfortable writing entertaining scripts. As a showrunner the most important thing will be The Show, and 90% of The Show comes from The Writing. It’s difficult to find writers who will 100% understand your vision but if that’s an area you’re comfortable in you’ll never be an dire straits. I had never professionally written a script before my pilot. If I did maybe that part wouldn’t have been as stressful at the time haha.

But let’s say you’re already good there. You’re good everywhere!

How to pitch a thing! I used to love making “pitch books” as a kid, though I had no idea that’s what I was doing. It was just fun to develop worlds and characters! So even if you’re in HS or younger, making “pitch books” is a great way to spend your time and practice for the future. So get to it! Here’s just one format you can try:

1. Cover page with short description of show and a fun image of your main character!

2. ½-1 full page describing your main character/s! (Don’t start with exhaustive explanations about the world, or any legends, or w/e, we’re here bc we want to connect with a character).

3. A couple pages with any other important characters you may have!

4. A page describing the most important relationships between your main character/s and others!

5. Simple 1 page description on how your world works! If it’s too complicated to get on one page, SIMPLIFY! Even the most complicated ideas can be pitched in 1-2 sentences.

6. Important places! The main characters house? The bad guy’s castle? Stuff like that.

7. Give em a couple episode examples! That’s where your show comes together, after all.

And you’re done!

Fill your pitch book with fun images that show off your characters and your world! You don’t have to follow this format exactly, it’s your show, your pitch, do whatever you think will show off your ideas best. If you’re making an epic you might want to dedicate a page to where you want the show to go, and how the characters will evolve. Everything depends on what you want to make. But above all: Make it interesting to read!!! Make it fun to look at!!! Boredom is your enemy, fight against it!!!!

Are my exclamation points making this easier to understand? GREAT!!!!!

Now get out there and pitch some things cause I want new shows to watch.

Hi guys! Here’s a little masterpost of quotes from children’s books that you can use in your bullet journal, or anywhere else you feel like!

THE LITTLE PRINCE (ANTOINE DE SAINT-EXUPÉRY)

  • “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
  • “The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they are felt with the heart.”
  • “You become responsible forever for what you’ve tamed.”
  • “You - you alone will have the stars as no one else has them…In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the sky at night…You - only you - will have stars that can laugh.”
  • “Grown-ups never understand anything by themselves, and it is tiresome for children to be always and forever explaining things to them”
  • “A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it, bearing within him the image of a cathedral.”

A LITTLE PRINCESS (FRANCES HODGSON BURNETT)

  • “If I am a princess in rags and tatters, I can be a princess inside. It would be easy to be a princess if I were dressed in cloth of gold, but it is a great deal more of a triumph to be one all the time when no one knows it.”
  • “When you will not fly into a passion people know you are stronger than they are, because you are strong enough to hold in your rage, and they are not, and they say stupid things they wish they hadn’t said afterward. “
  • “There’s nothing so strong as rage, except what makes you hold it in–that’s stronger. It’s a good thing not to answer your enemies.”
  • “If nature has made you for a giver, your hands are born open, and so is your heart; and though there may be times when your hands are empty, your heart is always full, and you can give things out of that–warm things, kind things, sweet things–help and comfort and laughter–and sometimes gay, kind laughter is the best help of all.”
  • “Somehow, something always happens just before things get to the very worst. It is as if Magic did it. If I could only just remember that always. The worse thing never quite comes.”
  • “But I suppose there might be good in things, even if we don’t see it.”
  • “You don’t forget, but you bear it better.”

LITTLE WOMEN (LOUISA MAY ALCOTT)

  • “I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.”
  • “It’s wicked to throw away so many good gifts because you can’t have the one you want.”
  • “Love is a great beautifier.”
  • “Watch and pray, dear, never get tired of trying, and never think it is impossible to conquer your fault.”
  • “I want to do something splendid…something heroic or wonderful that won’t be forgotten after I’m dead. I don’t know what, but I’m on the watch for it and mean to astonish you all someday.”
  • “Conceit spoils the finest genius.”
  • “Be comforted, dear soul! There is always light behind the clouds.”
  • “Life and love are very precious when both are in full bloom.”
  • “The only chivalry worth having is that which is the readiest to to pay deference to the old, protect the feeble, and serve womankind, regardless of rank, age, or color.”
  • “Books are always good company if you have the right sort.”
  • “The humblest tasks get beautified if loving hands do them.”
  • “Now and then, in this workaday world, things do happen in the delightful storybook fashion, and what a comfort that is.”

MATLIDA (ROALD DAHL)

  • “So Matilda’s strong young mind continued to grow, nurtured by the voices of all those authors who had sent their books out into the world like ships on the sea. These books gave Matilda a hopeful and comforting message: You are not alone.”
  • “Never do anything by halves if you want to get away with it. Be outrageous. Go the whole hog. Make sure everything you do is so completely crazy it’s unbelievable…”
  • “I have found it impossible to talk to anyone about my problems. I couldn’t face the embarrassment, and anyway I lack the courage. Any courage I had was knocked out of me when I was young. But now, all of sudden I have a sort of desperate wish to tell everything to somebody.”
  • “I’ve always said to myself that if a little pocket calculator can do it why shouldn’t I?”
  • “There is little point in teaching anything backwards. The whole object of life, Headmistress, is to go forwards.”
  • “I’m afraid men are not always quite as clever as they think they are.”

THE PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH (NORTON JUSTER)

  • “So many things are possible just as long as you don’t know they’re impossible.”
  • “Have you ever heard the wonderful silence just before the dawn? Or the quiet and calm just as a storm ends? Or perhaps you know the silence when you haven’t the answer to a question you’ve been asked, or the hush of a country road at night, or the expectant pause of a room full of people when someone is just about to speak, or, most beautiful of all, the moment after the door closes and you’re alone in the whole house? Each one is different, you know, and all very beautiful if you listen carefully.”
  • “Time is a gift, given to you, given to give you the time you need, the time you need to have the time of your life. ”
  • “You must never feel badly about making mistakes … as long as you take the trouble to learn from them. For you often learn more by being wrong for the right reasons than you do by being right for the wrong reasons.”
  • “The most important reason for going from one place to another is to see what’s in between.”
  • “What you can do is often simply a matter of what you will do.”
  • “What you learn today, for no reason at all, will help you discover all the wonderful secrets of tomorrow.”
  • “Whatever we learn has a purpose and whatever we do affects everything and everyone else, if even in the tiniest way.”

THE GOLDEN COMPASS (PHILIP PULLMAN)

  • “You cannot change what you are, only what you do.”
  • “We are all subject to the fates. But we must act as if we are not, or die of despair.”
  • “Every opportunity will come again.”
When you were asked about your plans for the future for the first time, you hadn’t even had your first day of school yet and there were dozens of szenarios in your head of how you’d spend your life.
It took a few years for your dreams to be shaped, until the vary shadows formed contours and you could answer with a small smile playing around your lips whenever someone asked you about that time which still felt so far ahead.
However, in middle school, you had to realize that life wouldn’t be as easy as you had thought before; that many of the things you had once dreamed of would never be possible but then, new ideas started to form in your head and when your friends told you about the subjects their older siblings were studying at university, you almost couldn’t wait to grow up and follow your dreams.
In high school, you had learned about your abilities and the topics you’re interested in, what you are good at and which issues you would rather avoid.
Now, when you were asked about your plans for the future, you could answer with several opportunities lying ahead of you and you’d talk about the cities where you would have liked to study. Graduating no longer seemed out of reach nor sight but still far enough away to not worry about details or feel the need to have your whole life planned out.
But then senior year comes around.
The first weeks, even months, still feel relatively normal, compared to high school, even though more and more people around you have a concrete idea of what they will do after they graduate.
But in the beginning, it’s still possible to laugh it all off, to shrug your shoulders and form an alliance of carelessness with those who feel as lost as you do when it comes to the future.
And you begin to remember all those dreams you once had, especially those who will never truly leave your mind and you cannot stop asking yourself whether it would actually be possible for you to follow them;
if maybe, just maybe, you are really free to achieve whatever you want.
Yet, it is still easy to forget about it all by focusing on the tasks ahead, the final exams and the preparations for the last educational events you’ll ever witness with these people who have been a part of your life for so long.
It’s not hard to simply surpress your worries and fears but then the end of this final year in school comes closer and closer until all the ‘last times’ are beginning.
The last time studying for an exam, the last presentation or the last movie you’ll watch bored to death while doodling on your paper.
But also the last free period spent outside in the sun with the people who mean the world to you, laughing until there are tears in your eyes and your ribs hurt, the last time being late to class because all of you rather stay in the car to finish singing this one song, the last time of ever laughing about a joke of that funny kid in your math class.
And then, suddenly, there is only one week left until you will all go separate ways, hoping that your paths will cross again someday and you cannot possibly understand that this part of your life, which seemed endless back when you were eight, will actually come to an end.
—  // and it is when you are standing on that hill behind the building, looking over the place where you spent almost your whole life, that you realize that it might just be true what people say;
that good things have to come to an end to make room for even greater adventures

spindercatscher  asked:

Why is its neck so long?

For catching fish! (or other prey items)

There’s a whole group of turtles that fold their necks into their shells sideways rather than pulling them straight back (called sidenecks). Several of them have very long necks that they can fold back into their shell and then shoot out to grab passing prey. Snakeneck turtles have truly impressive neck reaches.

“Don’t mind me, Mr. Fish, I just have a short little neck I definitely couldn’t reach all the way over…”

“JUST KIDDING YES I CAN”

They have such cute creepy little faces. If they didn’t all get so big I would love to have one (puts another turtle on my Someday list).

The other trouble is that snakenecks can sometimes be a bit nippy and since their necks are long enough to reach all the way to the back of their shell NOWHERE IS SAFE.

The last image from Sunday’s stream! I usually do the final image of a request stream in color, and it’s usually a different topic that the rest. So we did pokemon for most of the stream and then the final request was Breath of the Wild Link as a Rito (from the same game, not the WW ones) Alas I do not own a Switch so I have not been able to play this game, but I love the design of the Ritos in it! Maybe someday I’ll get to actually play it, but I won’t purchase a Switch until there’s more games that interest me because I just can’t justify buying a system for only one game to myself. ^^’ (Even though dang I want to play this game real bad)

“You’re a sweet kid, Chat. And someday Ladybug’s gonna see it too. I promise.”

OK BUT LISTEN. NO SHUT UP, LISTEN.
I will willingly toss myself at 3 headcannons:
1. Chat and Fox!Alya are totally furry bros. This BrOTP is my everything.
2. Fox!Alya is totally trying to set up Chat with LB, just like she is with Marinette and Adrien because she’s the matchmaker friend- everyone has one. They’ll be gloating at your wedding someday.
3. Fox!Alya and Nino have a Superman/ Lois Lane realationship. And with Nino being Adrien’s bro, they both totally drop everything to get him out of harms way leading to a very confused Nino and the BrOTP being all “Wait why do you care so much” “Idk why do YOU”

This show has soooooo many paralells and that set up is just perfectly ironic enough for me to looooove it. So I thought Fox!Alya saying to Chat something similar to what she told Marinette at the end of the Bubbler would be deliciously fitting.

Context: Idk, Fox!Alya is all angry and upset because of something (knowing the show something pertaining to relationships or gd Chloe, something personal she can’t really talk to him about) and Adrien (who is precious sunshine child) tries to cheer her up with goof and staff-copters into the night without a word and then cue comic.

Alya is badass and Adrien is my child. I need them to be bros and be happy. I N E E D it.

i need to find a cute little apartment where i can dedicate a special night once a month to having a bunch of witches come over. and we sit in a circle with candles lit and our hands intertwined and talk about anything on our minds. we can read eachother’s cards and palms and create little good luck jars and write down what we learned about one another at the end of the night. and we could call it “the witching hour,” ugh it would be so cute
