2015/04 Graph - STUDY - Yuzuki Reon

Chie’s Life Graph! (From 1-100 points) what does the graph show?

Birth: 50 points

Nursery school: 20 points. (My body was weak, and I often had to stay home.)

1st grade: 50 points - My first love
On Valentine’s Day - “The first time I gave someone chocolate on Valentine’s Day! I can’t remember his name anymore, but his eyes and hair were a lighter color than normal, and he was beautiful and mysterious, like a boy out of a manga. All the other boys were hooligans with buzz cuts, but his hair shone in the sun… that’s the kind of wonderful aura he had!”

1st grade: 70 points - Becoming healthy through Shorinji Kempo!
My lively elementary school days - “Thanks to Shorinji Kempo, my body had really changed since nursery school. I played with my older brother’s friends a lot, so I was an absolute pro at using the playground equipment. (laugh) Dashing across the top of the monkey bars, or flying up the fireman’s pole, always running around at top speed and falling over. (laugh) But there was nothing that really spoke to me yet, so I guess I’d give it around 70 points?”

3rd grade: 100 points - Starting ballet, and taking to it like a fish to water!

Elementary school years: 100 points - Having my picture from a ballet competition published in the Kobe Shinbun!
A ballet competition! - “Until then, no matter what lessons I took, I never stuck to it. But when I started ballet in 3rd grade, I was immediately addicted. Unlike piano or Kumon (a cram school with homework component), maybe it was more suited for me because I wasn’t stuck in the house? (laugh) Buoyed by my teachers’ praise of my "innate talent” (laugh) I went diligently to lessons every day. Soon after starting I participated in a contest that was said to be particularly difficult, and somehow my picture ended up being published in the Kobe Shinbun! My dreams were burning inside me, so I’ll always give that period 100 points!“

Junior high school 1st grade: 60 points - I was getting tall, so I was worried about whether I should continue ballet…

Junior high school 2nd grade: 80 points - I finally got a little bit popular

Entering high school: 100 points - Enrolling in the "special course”
Overcoming worries, and really enjoying high school - “In junior high school I was really upset about how tall I was getting and whether or not I could continue doing ballet, so I’d give my junior high school years about 60 points. But then, I enrolled in a "special course” in high school. (Translator’s note: Some Japanese high schools specialize in certain areas and offer set curriculums such as cooking, engineering, art, or athletics.) My class had a lot of people aiming to go to the Olympics across a wide range of sports. Everyone was full of energy and it was easy to catch that mood, to the point where I won the relay in the sports festival by more than one lap. (laugh) Being near people that serious about sports touched something off in me, and made me decide I wanted to try my hardest. Yeah, I really enjoyed high school~!“

During high school:
50 points - Anguish while trying to figure out the course of my life
80 points - Fateful meeting with Takarazuka
My father recommends Takarazuka… and I slowly become serious about it - "I was thinking about studying ballet abroad, but my father wanted me to stay in Japan. He tried as hard as he could to convince me to join Takarazuka, so I promised that I’d take the exam just once. But as I got further and further into lessons, I began to think "If I’m going to take the exam, I don’t want to fail!” and the first time I went to see a show, my interest really began to rise. And by the time I took the exam, my feelings had changed to the point where I’d decided “I absolutely want to take this exam!”“

Off the chart - Passing the Music School exam!

"Takarazuka Otome” comparison chart
Often capturing personal obsessions of the moment, “Takarazuka Otome” profiles. Let’s pull from all fifteen issues, and take a look at the changes!

#12 Your favorite food
1999 Anything other than liver and uni (sea urchin) (1)
2000 Curry rice, okaki (2)
2001 Curry rice, Starbucks coffee (3)
2002 Coffee (4)
2003 Rice
2004 Rice, miso soup
2005 Rice
2006 Rice, horn-shaped roll from Komugian Popolare (5)
2007 Rice, horn-shaped roll from Komugian Popolare
2008~2013 Nothing recorded
2014 Carbohydrates (6)

(1) Hahaha! (laugh) I just wrote the things I disliked! I’m pretty sure I wanted to convey “I really do like everything other than those two foods!” I was artless, wasn’t I.
(2) You can tell I’d reflected on the previous year’s answers. (laugh) I guess I’d realized it was better to honestly write what I liked.
(3) This was when Starbucks really felt new.
(4) Oh! Curry disappeared! Maybe I thought it would make me look a little better?
(5) It’s the bakery my classmate Amagiri Mayo’s family owns.
(6) If we’re talking Italian food, then pasta, if Chinese food, then mapo doufu with rice… I’ve noticed I always end up liking something with a lot of carbohydrates no matter where I go to eat.

Generally, I’ve always loved food. Rice and miso soup are the best, aren’t they~? From 2008-2013, the reason nothing was written was because I couldn’t choose just a single food! There were too many things I wanted to write… “How about Italian food? Well, I really want to write Korean food… No, Chinese food too! Well, but I can’t leave out miso soup…!” …or something like that. (laugh) In the end, I really love pasta and udon and mapo doufu, so I settled on “carbohydrates”. (laugh)
