i watch the show because of the plot

i envy people who have dreams with clear rational plots like “i was on my favourite tv show for a day” my dreams are like i’m in a diner and i’m pregnant. i leave the diner and i’m in a forest watching the pregnant woman who is no longer me. she turns around and now we’re in a jeep and she’s my dad. we’re listening to music which is somehow numbers. he asks if i remember the time we went to pakistan and i say yeah because i do. i wake up and remember i’ve never been to pakistan in my life.

wow straights don’t know how lucky they are. they are literally represented everywhere. u listen to a song on the radio ??? s t raight. u watch a tv show ??? 3 wild straight couples appear. u watch a movie ??? there is always a straight love plot squeezed into the story. u read a book ??? hello™ there are the straights again. like they don’t even have to search for things ??? while i need to graduate lesbian detective school to be freakin able to find one decent piece of lesbian fiction that i haven’t read 39290480939 times already because there are literally no alternatives ??? straights just need to open any book in the bookstore and there is already a straight romance flourishing on page one. imagine what that must feel like ?? can’t relate

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo is one of the best kdrama of all time and it continues to be overlooked as hell. It doesn’t even rank top 20 in Korea despite having one of the most well-written, organically developed plot AND characters for a kdrama. This is the first kdrama I’ve ever seen where they actually show a healthy, supportive relationship between the main leads without using over-exaggerated storylines to drive the romance. Also it’s one of the few Korean dramas that actually talks about mental health issues without downplaying it or use it as a plot device for ratings. I honestly love this drama so much and it deserves so much more love. It’s so fluffy and fun but also serious and relatable when it’s important.

The Sherlock Conspiracy Theorists on this website are literally having the most fun anyone has ever had watching a television show. We are decoding puzzles on multiple media platforms by cross-referencing plot lines from stories written throughout the last 130 years all while building knowledge of literature, math, music, coding, history, geography, chemistry, and television production. We are playing The Great Game in real time. I only wish more people could’ve joined us here because we won’t find another game this intricate in our lifetime, and everyone who finds this later will always be a few steps behind.

I hope everyone realizes this Conspiracy community is not about us being right – it’s about us pushing the boundaries of our intellect and having fun in the process. It’s been an honor playing The Great Game with all of you.

PLEASE GOD watch eyewitness every sunday on usa because last weeks episode only got around 560k views (usa’s most popular shows get about 1mil weekly)! this is a show with a plotline entirely centered around two lgbtq+ boys and is a thriller ! with mystery and action ! it’s so so so good and i’d hate for a show so good with such a positive influence and outreach with its actors to be yanked off the air because people don’t know about it. IF EYEWITNESS, A SHOW WITH A GAY LOVE STORY AS THE MAIN PLOT FIRST AND FOREMOST, BECOMES POPULAR AND WELL RECEIVED BY THE PUBLIC THINK OF HOW MANY MORE SHOWS WITH LGBTQ+ PLOT LINES CAN BE DEVELOPED !!!!

hoh holster

so a few days ago, I read this post except i did not read it very well bc this does not follow that plot at all. BUT it does have hoh holster!

(disclaimer i did do some research but i am not hoh so if any of these headcanons are offensive in any way, please let me know. OR just tell me to delete them and I shall no questions asked. tis not your job to educate me!)

  • holster, fucking loving when shows come on Netflix because Netflix generally has closed captions and shitty rigged it so their TV has closed captions but sometimes those are really shitty and he misses jokes
  • holster watches most shows twice; once so he can focus on the words, once so he can focus on the facial features of everyone
  • for some reason, holster is still always in charge of playlists. he just knows good music. and if he blares it too loudly, well, you cant say anything because he is just trying to hear. and if you notice he is has taken his hearing aids out and is smirking, well, oh well.
  • holster is very used to ducking to talk to people (even when wearing his hearing aids) so he can get as close to them as possible. he jokingly says this is why he is best friends with ransom. because ransom is tall enough that he can actually hear him. sometimes it is easier for him to talk to lardo but just picking her up and walking around with her on his hip. to date, he is the only person alive with express permission to pick lardo up whenever he wants.
  • losing his glasses is actually not funny for holster. it is a source of severe stress because he can’t really hear so he needs to be able to see and his eyes are so fucking bad and he tends to panic if it takes him more than a few moments even if it is his own fault because he’s always so careless with them but ransom always, always knows where they are
  • look, holster generally wears hearing aids and can sort of read people’s lips (but that is never 100% accurate at all) so really, he loves ASL. it’s easier for him and he kinda loves that he can gossip about people behind their back but in front of their face.
  • holster hates signed english. he gets that sometimes the boys have to use it at first to communicate and he appreciate that they are sort of trying but he hates it. it is not correct and no, he does not want to see your direct translations of christmas songs.
  • the boys all learning ASL. Ransom studies like he has never studied before for anything in his life. He won’t tell Holster what he’s working on because he wants it to be a surprise but he works himself into four “i am sitting on the floor rocking” stages. (Also, he got a B minus on his first ever bio test because he was too busy learning but Holster never found out about that)
  • shitty is fucking terrible at signing. not because he don’t know it, but because he talks too loud and fast and uses his hands to talk so he forgets. luckily ransom usually signs along so holster can follow.
  • lardo took to signing like a fish to water. she is faster than even ransom and can keep her signs small and contained and she and holster loooove signing behind people’s backs together
  • Jack takes the longest to learn and holster at first thinks that jack isn’t bothering to learn because holster is some kind of liability on the ice but then jack starts signing to him absolutely perfectly and then reveals that he’s also made a pretty elaborate system of signs that one can see while wearing hockey gloves.
  • bitty is not very good at signing and at first was incredibly stressed because not only is his often wearing baking mitts and holster told him his accent did crazy things to his mouth so he was hard to lip read as well but luckily, holster got used to it and it turns out jacks ‘hockey glove friendly’ signs could also be used with baking mitts so its okay. bitty still gets very stressed about it though. he tried to learn ASL approximately 100% more seriously then he bothers with french. (still most of his attempts end up with flour everywhere because bitty does this thing where he waves his hands in the air as he struggles to remember the sign and then when he gets them, he does this in these huge exaggerated motions and ends up spilling things.)

I literally don’t care who is your fav in HTGAWM from keating5 but you have to admit that Wes was main character just after the Annalise. EVERYTHING was revolving around Wes-Annalise, around theirs history, lies, action to cover something up or to protect someone else. That’s the show, that’s the HTGAWM I know.

Rest of keating 5? saying shit on Wes all the time + sometimes having their own cases or sth about their love life. WES AND ANNALISE WERE THE PLOT. The rest of characters is either all the time bickering about them, juding them or whatever.

S3b is going to STILL BE ABOUT WES AND ANNALISE even after his death. You will see flashbacks, everything will be about his death and how others deal with it. Even after death, he will still be the most important part of the show with Annalise.

In s4 - I won’t probably watch it because I’m too devastated for it - the show will move on and it won’t be about Wes+Annalise anymore. It won’t be the same HTGAWM we fell in love with for this 2,5 seasons. So to everyone who was hating on Wes for this all years, to everyone who was saying ‘he was annoying’, I bet you will see how different, how empty the show will be without one of mains who carried the whole plot (with Annalise).

This won’t be the same show, the HTGAWM i know.

The Story of 2213 (So far)

Part 1: The History

2213 has its origins in my undergrad program and in my undying love for BBC’s Sherlock. I came to the fandom just after watching series 3 and was astounded by the wonderful meta and investigation that fans had put into examining the show and the original stories on which it was based. I was in my junior year of college at the time and looking for a project for my thesis. The idea of adapting one of the Conan Doyle stories to feature a female Holmes and Watson seemed only natural.

My co-producer and I chose to adapt The Boscombe Valley Mystery, mostly because of its straightforward plot and the fact that it was easy to translate into modern times. Holmes and Watson were made women, remained British, and continued to live in 221B in London. In all honesty, that production read as a BBC Sherlock fan piece (even the original music we had recorded for it had essences of Sherlock scoring) but we had fun with it nonetheless.

Two months after closing night, my adviser and I met to go over my grade for the project.  She gave me a wealth of positive feedback and asked me if I would ever consider adapting such a thing for television. I hadn’t considered it, I told her, and she told me to start thinking about it. She had a contact at Syfy who was commissioning work for their web series division and was willing to put in a word for me if I could get some material together. How could I turn down an offer like that?

The next few months were overwhelming – I graduated from college with a B.F.A. in Theater, emphasis in Acting. It was difficult to keep up with writing during that time, but I managed to draft three episodes and map out a first season before the end of the year. By that time, unfortunately, my adviser’s contact had left Syfy. Disappointed, and overwhelmed with other facets of my life, I put the idea on the back burner.

For the next year, I worked on the show sparingly. It underwent many changes since the original performance in 2015. Watson and Holmes were named “Johanna” and “Charlotte” respectively, they were moved to the U.S. (Seattle, my home – which I know well), and they were moved into a dingy apartment above “Hudson’s Deli” at 2213 Bell Street where they live today.

Part Two: The Show Now

By making the characters women in the modern day United States, I realized that there was a unique opportunity before me to have Charlotte Holmes not only be a “consulting detective,” but also a sort of vigilante for those wronged in the criminal justice system. What if, I thought, she tackled the crimes that were found in the system itself?

Conan Doyle himself was a staunch advocate for justice [x] and often stood up for the wrongfully accused, a character trait he passed on to his great detective. I’ve been inspired while writing this series by incidents of police brutality (and subsequent failure to prosecute officers involved), stories of wrongful convictions, and allegations of cover-ups of police wrong-doings.

That’s the cases themselves, though. At the end of the day, I’m most interested in the relationship between Holmes and Watson (Charlotte and Jo) and how adaptations have been getting that relationship wrong for over one hundred years. It is, after all, the greatest love story ever told.

Part Three: Moving Forward

I’ve been inspired the last few weeks by several Tumblr users to start getting this project off the ground. To those of you who listened to my self-indulgent ramblings about this piece of work, I thank you – you were ever so encouraging.

I’m now reaching out to the masses to ask for your help. I’d like to self-produce the pilot episode (I have some people I can reach out to to help with this), but I need funds to do so. There will be a kickstarter campaign coming in the next couple of weeks.

I’m also looking for people to read the first thirty pages of the pilot and provide feedback to me. From that feedback, I’m planning to edit/write the rest of the episodes for season one.

And lastly, I’m putting feelers out there for graphic designers, musicians etc. who might be interested in contributing to such a project.

Thank you for reading if you’ve stuck through to the end of this post! If you can help by putting the word out, reblogging, or messaging me about any of the above points, I would appreciate it!

Iron Fist Isn’t Bad. People are just Racist.

I watched it and based on the media I was expecting it to be somewhat disappointing. However, I loved it. I loved it more than I did Daredevil. I thought the plot was fun and Finn Jones is a GIFT. How dare you racist (and yes I do mean racist) people attack the show and lie about it because Danny Rand is white. It does not deserve the hate it is getting. Racism is defined as discrimination based on someone’s skin color and I have seen nothing but hate for Finn Jones based on nothing but being a white guy who is playing a character from a comic book released in the 70s and in case you guys didn’t know, Danny Rand in the comic books is white. If we changed Luke Cage to be white that would be the exact same thing and I would be just as pissed if not more so. Danny being white allows for a very special dynamic between him and Luke Cage.

When you write hateful things about Iron Fist because they didn’t hire an actor that has an Asian background,  it isn’t progressive; you are putting distances between cultures again by covering up that history between Danny and Luke and what that relationship stood for.

Iron Fist and Power Man were written as a way to bridge the gaps between two cultures during a time where that relationship was considered a little more taboo. They are best friends (Luke actually names his daughter “Dany” after him) and race didn’t matter to them. Luke didn’t care that Danny was white and that meant something at that time. This relationship means more with Danny being white because it helped overcome a great deal of racial disagreements; it showed a black man and a white man could have that relationship that was entirely accepting and respectful of both cultures despite those cultures having a history of bad feelings.

I’m not saying I don’t want other cultures to be represented; of course I do, I’m just saying I like that Marvel honors the comic book origins especially when it has that unique history. My message here is; don’t hate Iron Fist because he’s white. Watch the series and if you hate it that’s fine but actually look at the series and not just the skin color.

We see you

You know what I deduce? Because nondisclosure agreements are being forced upon all those watching The Final Problem early, our meta-writers on Tumblr are being watched like hawks. We broke the first game - that was TJLC. That was the minor game. You have to solve the minor game before you can solve the Major game. Other social media sites get their theories from us here. We have the potential to Crack the final case and we’re doing it. Everyone involved with creating the show knows this and are watching us, in these final hours. We can spoil the plot of The Final Problem at any moment. They know exactly who we are. They are absolutely wondering if anyone can crack the final case before the reveal.

So to Moffat, Gatiss, Vertue, BBC1, and the wonderful cast and crew, us meta-writers look forward to hearing from you after the grand reveal. Unless, of course, we crack the case first.

Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock

Honestly I love the idea of Jason being a good big brother.
Like Jason patching up Tim when ends up on the wrong side of a fight because he’s over-tired again and lecturing him about taking care of himself or help me Tim I’ll tell Alfred.
Jason hanging out with Steph when she is injured and playing Mario games and watching shitty movies because he knows she hates being alone and everyone else is too busy.
Jason letting Tim have control of the TV and play his dorky sci-fi shows and then refusing to admit that he actually likes them until one day when there’s a huge plot twist and Jason starts swearing at the tv. Tim just smirks at him and Jason rolls his eyes and tells him to shut it.
Jason and Cass cooking together and then laughing when it comes horrible and ordering Chinese food instead.
Jason driving Damian places when everyone else is too busy. He takes him to the library, to school, to his friend’s houses. Anywhere and everywhere because he wants Damian to have as normal a childhood as possible and that means studying and being with kids his own age and not being in danger constantly.
Jason letting Steph paint his nails because she wants to practice this design she saw someone else do on YouTube before she tries on herself.
Jason standing up for Tim when Bruce or Dick are being brooding assholes and Tim is the one who gets caught in the middle of it.
Jason being the one Damian goes to for dating advice because he’s the only one who doesn’t go for people wearing skin tight leather or spandex and Damian wants someone normal, thank you.
Jason just being a good big brother!

"They don’t need us anymore"
  • -"I feel like its the fans that they were talking about here. You know because we've been through it all with them and now we're all growing up and moving on"
  • It's true. I never really understood why some fans did the most peculiar things over made up people and shows but i now know. I saw the first episode of teen wolf when i was in grade 8 i think it was and the first episode didn't really get me but i decided to continue to watch it and i soon feel in love with it. I font know what it is, weather it was the plot or the fact i love werewolves and supernatural stuff or it was because the people who played a part in it slayed their character. Or it could have been the fact that these people made it work.
  • I had a shit highschool life and i remember getting picked on and not wanting to get up in the mornings but i always wanted to when teen wolf was on that night.
  • I remember always wanting to do nothing i jsut didn't want to be here some day's but watching shows like teen wolf really did make me happy.
  • I know know why tv shows and made up charecters really mean so much to some people.
  • Because we connect with them. They play roles that we never realized we needed.
  • They say the words that we never thought we'd here or ever thing of saying.
  • They bring the meaning to life for some.
  • And they give us hope.
  • They teach us anticipation.
  • How to laugh.
  • How to love.
  • How to cry.
  • How to get over a hearbreak or friendship.
  • How to get along with people.
  • They teach us how to live.
  • They give us life.
  • Im so proud of the cast of teen wolf and the director and creator's of the show.
  • And i thank them so much because weather they know it or not they made a big impact on my life.
  • And i appreciate them for all they have done and am extremely proud.
  • The same goes for the vampire diaries, chicago P.D, chicago med, chicago fire.

I won’t start this post with “why isn’t anyone talking about ‘3%’?!??” because I know why I don’t see anyone talking about it: Netflix just released this original series last week.

But I think Tumblr could get behind this show. Let me break it down a bit:

- takes place in a post-apocalyptic future. Because there are no other futures in modern fiction aside from the StarStarStars.

- young people are competing for a spot in the coveted 3%: 'people of merit’ who are deemed worthy of going to Offshore. All we really know about Offshore for the first few eps is that it is apparently a perfect peaceful paradise with advanced medicine and tech where no one wants or suffers. So only the best people who can contribute the most get to go. #noassholezone

- the dude running the Process, as they call the selection, is batshit insane but in that really quiet way that sneaks up on you and suddenly holy shit did he really do that??

- between the competition amongst the young people and the crazy dude I just mentioned, it reminds me of parts of the Hunger Games. The parts that were cool in the books and the pre-Games training and the interactions between Tributes

-it’s Brazilian so a chance to practice your Brazilian Portuguese. Also its dubbed and subbed in 3 languages including English.

- Racially diverse cast. The crazy dude is naturally a crusty old white dude but that’s the type that pays to get shows made so who is surprised? But seriously colorful main cast and colorful background extras. I saw some diverse body types amongst those extras too. Like actually sat up and pointed at the screen and said “tum!” when I say a chubby fella in a group shot. I love a chubby tum.

- disabled character in a wheel chair. BLACK disabled character in a wheelchair. Black disabled character in a wheelchair who, when he hears there might be a treatment that lets him walk again on Offshore, literally says “Fuck walking”. Because he didn’t come looking for a cure and he came to terms with the fact that he wouldn’t walk a long time ago and he doesn’t need some miracle cure to make him a viable candidate or interesting character. Cuz he’s a smart dude and really nice and obvs super strong and dedicated.

-black disabled character is the first to get a romantic subplot. Totally deserves it. The other person does not give a single flying fuck about his disability.

I’d keep going but your time would be better spent just checking out the first episode on Netflix.

Dear Stelena,

there is something I have been trying to tell you for some years now, so here it goes - none of this is your fault

I remember the good old days when your show was good. Tolerable. Watchable. Back when storylines made sense, when scenes moved me to tears, when I had to cover my face with a pillow because I could not handle how absolutely adorable you are, when writing was so good, inspiring and motivating it made me want to write too. After you left us, things started going downhill. I started scoffing at the storylines, plot holes multiplied in number, nothing made me wonder, nothing made me smile, nothing made me cry, and everything made me angry - until, finally, your show became too unbearable for me to watch, so I stopped. Which is when I realized, your show was never flawless, it was you who made it flawless.

I remember the day I was finally pressured into watching your show - it was the day I fell in love with you. The show already had two seasons, but I knew nothing of your relationship, I was absolutely spoiler free. But I loved the way you felt, and moved, and looked, and smiled, and talked. I was told you are not a very popular ship, that you have some pretty heavy competition, and to this day I have zero idea why since none of your competitors are worthy enough to compete with you. It took me only 10 episodes to love you, and 14 to know I’m never going to stop loving you, and there were twice as many episodes that made me regret that decision - with you, I have learned what love is, but with you I have also learned what pain is, both good and bad kind. Despite it, I do not regret loving you, supporting you, standing up for you, because you were a ship that made me happy, and safe, and satisfied for as long as they allowed you.

I am not going to tell you how absolutely wonderful you are, because you already know that. I am not going to tell you have good you are, how right you are, or what a better choice you are - I already said that in numerous posts prior to this one, and it makes no sense to point it out anymore since it has become obvious that no one is listening. This is for your ears only. For years, I had to defend you against numerous attacks on various subjects, and I was more than glad to do so. People would describe you as safe, like it is a bad thing, and they would label you boring, cliche, they would say you are only meant to be remembered as a first love, and that your love story always felt more like a friendship. But I assure you, as someone who remembers every kiss, every hug, every word you said to each other, every look you shared, as someone who has your smiling faces embedded in their mind, I assure you were so much more than that. You were the future. You were always gentle, and kind, and challenging in all the right ways. There were so many bumps on your path, but that never made you bitter, or angry, or harmful. People would say that you are too real, too everyday, too real-life scenario, and that you do not belong in a fictional show. Relationship like yours should be everyday, and they should be real, and they should be a norm, but they happen so rarely. And that is why, even after you left us, I kept watching, hoping for your return.

You never did come back, and it took you a long time to actually and completely disappear from your show. I remember the day you left us. I knew it was going to happen, but I never knew it was going to happen in such an ugly way. I never knew that they are going to tear down everything that took them years to build. I never knew that they are going to replace you with something so ugly and rotten. How could have I? They didn’t only take you away, they took your characters away as well, and they kept taking them bit by bit until the only thing left of you to love was a memory. I keep calling it your show, because it was. You did not own it, it was not only about you, yet you fit into it so nicely that you made it yours, that every time I would hear its name, I would think of you. And now, when I see what a mess it is, I am kinda glad you are not a part of it anymore, yet I can’t help but wonder if they allowed you to stay, would it even ever turn into a mess it is?

So, here it goes - it was not your fault. They made you too perfect, too strong, so when they decided that they do not want you anymore, the only thing left for them to do was destroy you. Set you on fire and leave you to slowly burn. They made you to last forever. And in a way, you will, because they never really gave you a proper ending. You will always remain an unfinished sentence.

This is my way of saying goodbye. You deserve a soft epilogue, my loves, you have suffered enough.

It’s an amazing show that deals with so many important topics! It has fantastic characters with great chemistry and a very unique plot. Here’s why you should watch it.

The show is about to be cancelled because literally no one watched it, but I think it really deserves a second season. I know a lot of people would love it if they gave it a chance.
