i watch the show because of the plot

i envy people who have dreams with clear rational plots like “i was on my favourite tv show for a day” my dreams are like i’m in a diner and i’m pregnant. i leave the diner and i’m in a forest watching the pregnant woman who is no longer me. she turns around and now we’re in a jeep and she’s my dad. we’re listening to music which is somehow numbers. he asks if i remember the time we went to pakistan and i say yeah because i do. i wake up and remember i’ve never been to pakistan in my life.

Dear Evan Hansen is an amazing musical. The characters, the plot, the songs, the meaning; I cried a lot haha. It’s so moving and relatable, especially to those who feel like they just don’t fit in. So to anyone who feels alone or is having a tough time I urge you to watch and/or listen to this. I swear you won’t regret it. Just a heads up though, what I drew doesn’t reflect what happens in the show per se. I was just inspired by an animatic of one of the songs because it’s awesome and you should totally check that out too (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiNe0L6kyto)

What I Say: I’m Fine.

What I mean: Takashi Shirogane probably is one of the best fictional heroes of this generation. On top of that, Shiro is a character that really shouldn’t exist to begin with. All previous iterations of Voltron have either killed off/replaced the iteration of his character. However, the creative team has decided to enrich, expand, and ultimately create something amazing out of Sven/Shirogane. Shiro is both physically and aesthetically amazing in his character design. There’s a reason why Josh Keaton’s twitter subheading is ‘That hot guy from Voltron.’ But Shiro is amazing both as a physical character as he is in what he represents. Takashi Shirogane is a canonically Japanese character who is both physically handicapped (debatable as his prosthetic physically helps more than it hurts from what we’ve seen.) As well as a character who has been through a disturbing amount of psychological trauma. All this being said, he still leads a group of heroes and carries the weight of the whole universe on his shoulders. He isn’t perfect, he lashes out, he gets angry, he gets scared, he gets frustrated and he gets irrational and attacks without justification. But he still serves as a fantastic roll model for all children and for anyone who watches the show. He stands as a paragon of heroes because despite his limitations and his traumas he still leads effortlessly, he still manages to stay strong despite his demons, he still is moving despite all of what life has thrown at him and that is truly amazing.

I don’t want Shiro to die, I don’t want Shiro to be replaced in Season 3. I don’t want him to just serve as a plot device to advance Keith and Lance, I love the show because Shiro has inspired me to keep on fighting, to go out and be great, to not be scared of what might happen, because fear will inhibit me from doing something great.

I want Shiro to live. I want Shiro to keep on living, I want Shiro to decompress and to cry, to prove to the viewers that its okay to break down, I want Shiro to overcome his demons, I want Voltron to win with Shiro at the helm, I want Shiro to make it back to earth, Alive. I want Shiro to survive.

When you are such Steven trash your reason for watching Voltron is his voice, you know you are in too deep and need therapy asap.

Reasons why you should watch Young Justice

It’s an amazing show

It’s DC

It touches on a lot of important issues, that aren’t always brought up in shows (self-image, freedom to be yourself, loss of innocence, grief)

Bluepulse and Spitfire

STRONG FEMALE CHARACTERS

It passes the bechdel test!!!

Mastering the art of creating a female character that is in a codependent relationship, but doesn’t let the relationship rule her life

There is some VERY gay undertones, especially in season 2

Bluepulse and Spitfire

Diversity, more so in season 2

THEY GET TEENAGERS RIGHT

Thank you DC, for realizing Mellenials are actually smart and don’t rely 100% on our phones

They also get relationships right. Like, ya, no relationship is perfect: but their ability to get over the problem is what makes a strong couple.

There’s a couple for every shipper.
Kinky relationship? Chalant
Lovey-dovey relationship? Supermartian
Looong-time relationship? MalXKaren
Fights because sexual tension relationship? SPITFIRE
They’re-not-gay-but-they’re-totally-gay? BLUEPULSE

WHO IS THE CANON LGBTQ+ DC?? WHO????

Believable characters with a lot of depth

You thought this chick was a shallow girl with 2 brain cells? Lol turns out she’s actually not that bad and has a severe inferiority complex
(Still not a huge Megan fan but whatever) (she’s a Mary-Sue, I don’t care what you say)

Bluepulse and Spitfire

SO.MANY.PLOT.TWISTS.

Some plot holes that are fun to point out (THAT DC WILL HOPEFULLY FIX IN SEASON 3)

It’s a DC show that doesn’t revolve around Superman and Batman (but heavily relies on their son/younger brother)

Bluepulse and Spitfire

The show has a great fandom

Like we literally exploded just because Dick Grayson hit puberty

But God DAMN he was hot

Bluepulse and Spitfire

It’s like Teen Titans, but better

I shouldn’t have said that

I’m sorry

BLUEPULSE AND SPITFIRE

okay so I just feel the need to say why Brooklyn nine nine is the best show so strap yourselves in it’s gon be long

 * first off, hella diverse cast

 * and no “token” characters there just for the sake of diversity, each character has very different personalities from each other and represent the actual population

 * despite totally different personalities they are all really good friends and care about each other so much- each character’s relationship is different and I find that beautiful

 * wE HAVE A BLACK GAY MAN IN THE HIGHEST POSITION OF POWER IN THE PRECINCT?? that’s so cool

 * amy santiago is never played off as “just Jake’s love interest/girlfriend” she has all her own plots and stories and is amazing and strong and the best

* healthy communication in amy and jakes relationship !!! making sure it doesn’t stop them from doing their job to the best of both their abilities !!!

* Terry is a very macho “man’s” man but isn’t afraid to show his feelings and it’s real nice to see them show how being emotional doesn’t make you a weak man

* the solidarity between the girls because we gotta stick together

* “I met god” “what does she look like?” “Ethnically ambiguous"

* constantly calling out the world for all it’s shit (homophobia, racism, gun laws, corruptness of the police, sexism, I cOULD GO ON)

* and now the reason I decided to make this now: THEY JUST MADE A WHOLE EPISODE ABOUT HOW BULLSHIT RACIAL PROFILING IS

* a show about cops still managed to find a way to talk about it bc they know it’s an important issue and did it in such an incredible way

* showed two sides of dealing with the situation, holts plan and terrys, and neither were ideal, both would have backlash for Terry more than the dickhead who stopped him tbh

* and showing Jake doing hella suspicious shit and not getting stopped

* oNCE AGAIN CALLING OUT THE WORLD FOR ITS SHIT

* (but this time with a whole ep not just mentions bless)

* also Jake and amy having to explain it all to Terry’s kids was v upsetting to see how scared they were at first that this would happen just because they were born as they were

* AND mentions of transphobia and telling the twins it’s okay if they don’t identify as female, what other show would

this ain’t even everything it was just getting v long BASICALLY no show is as woke as brooklyn nine nine, it’s hella funny too with great plots and ships too if that’s what you look for and everyone should watch and @ fox if you don’t renew I will fight it is better than all other shows

Hunter x Hunter (2011)

Final Rate: S
Cry-o-meter: 4/5

Positives

+First of all, holy shit
+The protagonists are extremely likable, well-written, and complex.
+I’ve never been more invested in a cast of characters
+The villains are also likable, well-written, and complex. I can’t believe this show threw the most irredeemable ruthless killer at me and then made me cry over him.
+A well paced, slow-burn story that starts deceptively lighthearted and then gets dark and violent and genuinely upsetting
+Stellar character development. Everyone gets a turn to be the antihero and I fucking love it.
+Actions have actual consequences and the show isn’t afraid to kill off characters
+Intense and creative fight scenes
+The Phantom Troupe arc was dope as all hell
+Kurapika is the accumulation of all of my least favorite tropes but it’s played completely straight and he’s my favorite
+The art gradually increases in quality. It starts off kinda mediocre but by the end of the show it’s great
+It progresses almost like an RPG. The characters start off level one, with not a whole lot of skills or punch, and by the end they’re level 100 or so. The main characters don’t start off powerful (with maybe a small exception to Killua).
+The characters train? They actually train to get better? This is such a little thing but you can actually watch their progress.
+That *iconic* shot when Killua goes full-electric mode for the first time
+It’s not cheesy! it’s not! It seems like the show that would be really cheesy with a lot of angry screaming but it’s not!
+No filler! Everything is plot relevant!

Negatives
-It’s been on hiatus for a while because the creator is dealing with back problems and people aren’t all that hopeful about it continuing
-I need more Kurapika! The last clip of him at the very end just left me wanting to see more of him. The next arc in the manga is actually focused on Kurapika and Leorio but it won’t be animated for a while…
-The Chimera Ant arc probably could have been cut down in length, and a lot of the character designs were goofy. It changed and became better, but still.
-The Alluka mini-arc didn’t really do it for me. She didn’t have any character depth, she came out of nowhere, and it didn’t make me feel those sweet sweet emotions the show usually provides
-Hisoka pops a boner for a 12 year old
-”sorry but you take second place to alluka lol” b i t ch after everything you’d been through together?
-Unfinished, for now.

Final Comments: Holy fuck I wasn’t expecting to like this show as much as I did. Easily joined my list of personal favorites. I honestly can’t even say anything but if you love that slow burn frog-in-a-frying-pan type of show then you’ll love it. The pacing is so good, I love everyone, honestly please give it a chance and don’t get turned off if the first few episodes aren’t your style.

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo is one of the best kdrama of all time and it continues to be overlooked as hell. It doesn’t even rank top 20 in Korea despite having one of the most well-written, organically developed plot AND characters for a kdrama. This is the first kdrama I’ve ever seen where they actually show a healthy, supportive relationship between the main leads without using over-exaggerated storylines to drive the romance. Also it’s one of the few Korean dramas that actually talks about mental health issues without downplaying it or use it as a plot device for ratings. I honestly love this drama so much and it deserves so much more love. It’s so fluffy and fun but also serious and relatable when it’s important.

I REALLY recommend Tsuritama.

It’s honestly one of my absolutely favourite shows and it’s all-around a wonderful story about finding passion, overcoming boundaries and building strong and meaningful friendships, also it has aliens so it’s pretty much perfect.

The main character, Yuki, is a character I hold very dear to my heart.
He’s a kid who deals with anxiety which this anime depicts FANTASTICALLY.
Everything Yuki feels and does, his drowning feeling, the inner monologue, the way his flashbacks at the end of the day are depicted, is on point with how anxiety feels to me. Being someone who dealt with and occasionally still deals with crippling social anxiety, this anime spoke to me on a very personal level and I absolutely adore the growth Yuki goes through in the short 12 episodes.

Not only is anxiety depicted very well, but the interpersonal relationships between the four main characters develop EXTREMELY beautifully and naturally. Their friendships and how they behave within them makes a lot of sense with their different personalities. They are extroverts and introverts, they come from different backgrounds and with different motives and manage to create very genuine bonds with each other. I keep noticing new aspects of their relationships every time I re-watch this show.

I don’t want to say too much about the plot because I don’t want to spoil things, but it’s unusual, full of surprises, full of emotions, full of excellent character development, and it combines science fiction with fishing, of all things.

ALSO, IF YOU LIKE BRIGHT FRESH COLOURS, THIS SHOW IS ABSOLUTELY FOR YOU!!!

The colours in this show are some of the most comforting and pleasant palettes I’ve ever seen in an anime! It’s very bright and colourful and perfectly saturated to retain a general feel-good touch throughout the entire run.

I HONESTLY CAN’T RECOMMEND THIS ANIME ENOUGH. IT’S ONE OF MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITES AND IT MAKES ME SO SO SO HAPPY.

“That summer I changed.
I finally found something I was really interested in.
I always had friends by my side.
And I even surprised myself
by how loudly
I learned to laugh.“

august 21st aka fanfic writers appreciation day.

i saw this post going around and i’ve decided to make a post to a) recommend you some great stories and amazing writers, b) give some sort of feedback. i don’t really have that much time to read anymore, so this won’t be that long. as soon as i get more time, i’ll start reading again :) the list is in no specific order, i was going through my “following” list and through my fic recs blog.

@noona-la-la-la  — i recommend literally everything noona ever wrote. i love her style and her plots and the fact that she always manages to exceed my expectations. she’s one of those writers whose stories aren’t just about the smut, which i love. of course, the amazing smut is just a bonus. my favorite story of hers is either unexpected or conditioned (which is also one of my fave tae stories ever. e v e r.) and her vmin threesome the group project is amazing! i’m so far up her ass it’s not even funny, but i seriously love everything about her blog and her writing.

@ellieljade  — amazing plots! a m a z i n g. and the dirty talk! the smut scenes are just too good, and mr.min is my favorite yoongi series. i love the plot, i love the fact that the characters aren’t labeled as good or bad, there’s a lot of grey areas and you never know what to expect. if you want to cry, read her this is how you lose her series and come bitch about it with me. and did i mention sub namjoon? because damn, watch me is amazing.

@avveh — some of the best dirty talk and pwp ever. i enjoy reading her stories from the first one she posted, which is reveries. i don’t even watch the show it’s based on, but i love the series. emily can really suck you into the plot, regardless of the smut. of course, you know me, my favorite is jealousy games because jungkook AND jimin. you know.

@xhixtape — i could go on about lila forever. the flow in her stories is amazing, i love the slow build ups in some stories, and i love the smut in all of them. she’s a huge inspiration for me and her work has inspired a lot of mine, i think i might be her biggest fan. read everything! my favorites are kitten’s got his tongue, good mornings, and vibrations. vibrations, man!!!

@tayegi — lu is one of the OGs of bts fanfics, so i’m sure you’re all already reading her stories. i lover her ocs, i love that they know how to speak for themselves and that they know what they want and aren’t afraid to go for it. my favorites are fuck, marry, kill (because JIMIN), the golden boy because T A E, and friendship goals because TAEGI.

@kimtrain — okay, one good purr had me hooked ! i loved the slow burn and tae′s character and everything about it, from the plot to her style. that’s also one of my favorite tae stories ever.  also, the wings of a devil? b o m b. she has a huge masterlist and i need to read all of her stories.

@floralseokjin — blessed is the day i found out about jordan’s blog. i love everything she writes, i don’t care what member the stories are about because they’re that good. i love her style because it makes me get into the story so much that i can’t stop reading. the first story i read was salt and shadow and i still love it. her jin stories are the best out there and i love reading them. show me might be my fave. also, playing with fire is bomb.

@gukvory —  can you feel it, sugar? is a masterpiece. actually, everything on this masterlist is a masterpiece. i love her writing style, i love the flow, i love the feeling i get when reading her stories. just read everything of hers, you won’t regret it.

@kittae — eva writes for other groups as well! i’ve only read most of her bts stories, and my faves are v-card because it’s the right amount of everything, and favourites and servants is so good! there’s still so many stories on her masterlist to read and i can’t wait to read more.

@dailydoseofdia — i’m gonna recommend carousel because it’s one of the stories i’ve been meaning to read, but just didn’t have enough time for, even though everyone is praising it. i’ve read dia’s fics and they’re amazing, so i don’t doubt that carousel is just as great. lick was amazing and it’s the first thing i’ve read on her blog.

@chinnychimchim — ah. ah! one of my favorite writers. i seriously love everything she posts, i don’t ever check who the story is about. my favorite has to be reset. it’s such a good story and i haven’t read anything similar, so i love it. cognitive dissonance is also a must read. just read the entire masterist while you’re at it, it’s worth it.

@kstopping  — who doesn’t want a good mmf threesome with vmon? that’s exactly what cinnamon sugar is and i LOVE IT. also tags that crack me up every time.

@jungkookfortunekookies  — for those who don’t read smut, there’s a ton of popular stories on her masterlist, including jungkook roommate series which is so fun and easy to read!

@jeylovestoblog — i’ve heard jey writes amazing reader/girl/member threesomes, so i need to check them out, and i recommend you do the same. she updates often, so i’m sure you’ll find something for yourself.

@rapmonluv — all i’ve read so far is nightcall and it’s enough for me to know i’ll love everything else.

@jingukz — sarah’s stories are amazing and you know that i prefer smut, but her stories are that good. she doesn’t need smut to pull you in, but when it’s there, it’s great. bliss among sinners is probably my fave, but the first one i’ve read is cry me a river and i’m still not over it.

@emboyz — i still need to go through her masterlist, but i’ve read good catch and it’s great!

@pjxmin — i don’t get how everyone’s not talking about her writing. caught in a lie is amazing, proposals is such a good story, her writing is amazing and her stories are fun and they just pull you in. amazing writer!

@cosykims — merlot murders (the crimson killer, kisses of carmine) is the most underrated series i’ve ever read. it has everything and i can’t praise it enough, seriously. you need to read it!

@jiminniemouse — i think i’ve read everything of hers and there wasn’t a single story i didn’t like. i love her style, i love her plots, i just love everything about her writing. purple jewels is so well written and interesting, i can’t get enough. seriously, i recommend everything.

@wonhopes — amanda’s writing is amazing. i think you’ve all read not so honest, but i think my favorite might be cat got your tongue because TAEEEE.

@mindfullofcrazy — i absolutely loved give me love!!!

@hobibliophile — i think i’ve read everything on her masterlist and i loved it! my favorites are take a break (jihope threesome ftw), blue blooded (prince jin!!!), and don’t care about the presents (namjoon being a cutie).

@kainks — i love her writing style! my favorites are new guy and triplicity because damn, hoseok and yoongi threesome? i’m in. orange tulips is on my to read list, i’ve heard great things about it.

@versigny — if you haven’t read miss dial, i don’t know what you’re doing. read it. now. i love it!

@baeseoul  — protege is probably my favorite jungkook series ever. it’s so well written, i love the plot, i love the characters and their flaws, i just love everything about the story. destruction of a muse is on my to read list. just great writing in general, one of my favorite writers.

@protectaetae — i love her writing style! one night snap pt 1 and 2 saved me.

@taehyung-the-baehyung  — closer is amazing and so is the suit and tie series! amazing :)

@jheartseok — i still haven’t read nude, not flowers and i suck because i’ve heard it’s an amazing story. i need to read everything of hers.

@roseok — just read everything. amazing writing.

@drquinzelharleeni’m not a kid is a great series. there’s so much more i have to read from her masterlist, but i like her writing style!

there are a lot of writers who i still need to check out and i’m looking forward to it. i’m sorry if i’ve forgotten someone! if i’ve ever given you a compliment about your writing, i truly meant it. i hope i’ve included everyone. if you go check out these writers, please don’t ask them about updates :)

I think that a lot of the people who call Snape a hero and a good person must have only watched the movies, or in they read the books it was a long time ago, which is fine. The movies are great by themselves, but they do leave out a lot of detail that shows us who all the characters truly are because there’s so much plot to put in.

But here’s why I think this:

In the movies, a lot of Snape’s bullying is passed over or mentioned very off-handedly. Outside Harry’s first Potions lesson where Snape puts him on the spot (and in the book docks points from him, but not in the movie), a few snide remarks towards the trio (such as in the duelling club when talking about Ron’s wand), Neville mentioning Snape is his worst fear (which is never fully addressed), and the Occlumency lessons, I can’t think of many examples of Snape being a bully, and even these are fairly tame.

But in the book, we see Snape bullying the Gryffindors a lot more. Rowling makes a point of Snape going around during Potions to look at and remark on every student’s potions, often ignoring the Slytherins even when they do poorly, but he stops at Neville’s multiple times, berates him, humiliates him in front of the class, and on at least one occasion, simply Vanishes the potion because it’s so bad there’s no point trying to grade it so Neville gets an immediate 0.

As well, after Neville sees Snape come out of the wardrobe in drag, the story spreads like wildfire and Snape treats Neville even worse than he’s treated him before and Neville (a 13 year-old-kid) becomes nervous wreck.

There’s also the time in (pretty sure the 4th book), where Malfoy calls Hermione a Mudblood again and Harry and Ron try to hit him with a curse and Crabbe and Goyle do the same. One of the curses hit Hermione and causes her teeth to grow at an alarming rate. Hermione, who is already very self-conscious about her buckteeth tries to hide them so no one can see. At this point, Snape comes and sends Malfoy to the hospital wing and Ron angrily shouts “she was hit too!” and forces Hermione to show her teeth to Snape (Harry notes that they’re growing past her chin at this point). Snape looks straight at her and says “I see no difference,” causing Hermione, a 14-year-old girl who’s already self-conscious about her teeth to burst into tears and flee to the Hospital Wing, where she has her teeth permanently altered so they don’t stick out (she says her parents wanted her to use braces but she didn’t want to wait that long).

Another time, after Harry accidentally sees Snape’s worst memory, and Snape is yelling at him to get out of the office, and starts firing curses in Harry’s direction to scare him, since Harry won’t leave (he’s trying to apologize), and Snape explodes all the jars around the door, showering Harry with glass and pickled things. And then, later on, in the Potion’s classes, Harry gives Snape a sample of the Potion to be graded, and Snape just drops it, in front of the entire class. And since Hermione has already Vanished the rest of his potion, he gets an automatic 0.

Finally, the last example I can think of is when the students are brewing a growing potion and Snape realizes Neville mixed up the order of the ingredients, making it go bad. Again he berates him in front of the entire class with some very choice nasty words and claims he’s going to test the potion on Trevor at the end of class - if the potion was done correctly, he’ll be fine but if it was done incorrectly, he’ll die (remember Trevor was Neville’s present for getting into Hogwarts, and represents one of the few times his Gran has expressed that she’s proud of him). So Neville is about to have a complete meltdown but Hermione helps him correct the potion so when Snape gives Trevor a few drops, he just gets very large. And instead of awarding Hermione points for fixing a ruined potion, he takes points from her for interfering where she isn’t wanted.

So yes, I’ll admit Snape was a complex character with an interesting story line. But that’s all he is. He’s not a hero, and I personally think it’s insulting that Harry named his child after him.

Please Watch “Orange”

Ok everyone. I’m sure some of you have probably heard of this anime, and those people who have heard of it have probably strayed away from it for the same reasons I did.

I am a huge fan of romance anime. I’m basically addicted to anything involving love, but I was weary of this show, called “Orange,” because (1) you learn from within the first few minutes of the first episode that the love interest is going to die, (2) it looks really cliché, (3) it is not very popular, and (4) it looks sad.

I was wrong. So very wrong.

(1) Yes, the anime has its bleak, raw moments, but those moments were the ones that I never had anticipated that I would appreciate the most. Something that definitely became an admirable point of the anime was its very real, non-sugar-coated portrayal of depression, mental illness, suicide, and grief. This series does what most shojou romance series shy away from and actually shows the audience what depression is like through Kakeru, the fated-to-die protagonist, and the seriousness of suicide.

As someone who has personally battled with clinical depression for years and has been to therapy and counselling, this anime hit home for me. The faking smiles, pretending everything is okay, the self-loathing, thinking you are at fault, thinking you are a burden to others, denying yourself happiness, not allowing yourself forgiveness, and the thoughts of death; they are all things that I could relate to. They even included how you can still experience moments of true happiness even if you are depressed, but how it never really goes away. Sure, this anime might not be as light-hearted as others, but it’s the heart-rending instances in this show that give it so much impact and substance.

(2) This anime does have some clichés (i.e. cultural festival, giving chocolates on Valentines Day, new kid at school sits next to the main character), but the plot completely colors these events in ways that make them so much more meaningful and different than you have ever seen them. One of my main concerns going into this show was that I would be bored, but I ended up watching it all in one sitting simply because of how much I needed to know what would happen. Additionally, the secondary characters are wonderfully fleshed out and are actually important to the plot, instead of feeling like accessories.

(3) I know this anime was based off of a manga (which I had once picked up on a whim, but put down once I saw how sad it was probably going to be), but I have never heard people talk about it, like ever. Even when the show came out (which it did recently), there was no buzz about it. Although the lack of chatter surrounding Orange only made me more pessimistic regarding the quality of the show, if there is anything I have learned from watching hundreds of anime, it is that sometimes good shows can fly beneath the radar. I am glad I decided to pick it up after it’s completion and give it a chance, because I just found a series that has easily earned a spot on my top 10 list.

(4) Is this anime sad? Yes. Is it too sad to watch? No. The biggest obstacle that stood in my way for this show was the fact that it pretty much promised from the get-go to be sad. “But love is supposed to be happy and have a happy ending,” you might say, “so how can that be possible when one of the protagonists is destined to commit suicide.” I don’t want to spoil it, so all I can tell you is that I was very pleased with the conclusion and it ends much differently than you are lead to believe it will. Trust me guys. My heart is made of glass. I would not recommend this show to anyone if I didn’t think the denouement was really good

So, in conclusion, set aside a few hours one day and let this series show you its magic!

I have to say though, I think my favourite part about the Thirteenth Doctor announcement is seeing how many women are now saying they are going to start watching again because 1) the Doctor is played by a woman and 2) Moffat is no longer writing the show, like…

you can really feel how much this part of the audience has been alienated through the years by how terribly terribly misogynistic the show had become in the hands of a man who wrote awful plots, cringe-worthy characters and bingo-card-worthy episodes

and now you can see how many of us are getting hopeful again that Doctor Who will go back to being the brilliant show it used to be (not perfect, but still brilliant) and how many of us are ready to jump back on the Whovian train if it means we as the audience are no longer treated like crap by the show runner

and it feels so good

Not entirely fluffy, not entirely sinful, somewhere in between LOL

Hope you all like it!^^

Sitting on RFA + Saeran’s lap

Zen

  • He was working out at the rooftop. Sit-ups, push-ups, you know, just the regular exercises you can do at home without the fancy gym equipment
  • That are as effective as any equipment, because man is sweaty and panting hard
  • And as soon as you step in to the rooftop, he just splashes some water so you won’t see him all sweaty (he doesn’t know you would kill to see that, though)
  • And since he looks always ready for a photo shoot, he really looks like a model in a Nike billboard, he looks… irresistible.
  • So you just make your way to his lap, just like that.
  • No, not just like that… WHAT’S WITH THESE SHORTS, MC? DON’T YOU KNOW THEY ARE SHORT JUST THE WAY THE BEAST LIKES IT?
  • “B-babe, what… what are you doing?” “Nothing. What were you doing?” “Just working out, you know, just keeping my body in shape…” oh, if you wiggle like that one more time…
  • “I see, yes… very in shape.” You squeeze his biceps, smiling. Gurl… his mind is a little cloudy due to the beast, but he’s not stupid, he knows what you’re up to.
  • “Yes, babe. Don’t you think I deserve a prize after working so hard?” one of his arms circle you by your waist as he leans towards you to kiss you…
  • “No! You’re all sweaty! Eww!” Gurl… you’re not the actress here, don’t even try. “Ah yes… my bad, princess. I’m really sweaty…” he gets up, shifting you in his arms so he can carry bridal style “I think you’ll have to help me take a shower.”
  • Good luck, now it’s your turn to exercise a little…

Yoosung

  • Boy is becoming multitasked these days.
  • Look at him studying in the kitchen while waiting for the dinner to cook in the oven!
  • You are hungry and go to the kitchen to grab something while dinner isn’t ready
  • “Na-ah, MC! Dinner is almost ready, you won’t want to eat later if you eat something random now.” Really multitasked, he says this blocking your way with his arm without taking his eyes off of the book.
  • He looks so serious, so focused, so cool. How can you resist?
  • So you sit on his lap, and he immediately stiffens his body. You keep telling him to focus and study, how can he focus like this, woman?
  • “MC… co-come on… we can… we can do this later… we…” “Do what later, Yoosung?” Oh no… are you really going to make him say it? Look how red he is, the poor thing!
  • He’s trying so hard not to give that glance at your body and how you’re pressing against his own, so he looks at your eyes… only to find that teasing expression you always do… oh, he always for this!
  • “You know very well, MC…” he holds you as he brings you closer, but you scoot lightly away from him “What? I don’t! I’m just hanging here waiting for dinner because I’m hungry!”
  • “Well, I’m hungry too…” he motions for you to get up before leaving his chair as well. You watch as he tosses his book aside and goes to the oven, turning it off. “I’m starving…” you could tease him for these innuendos, but you’re just too much into it as he grabs your hand and leads you both to the bedroom.
  • Yeah, you really didn’t make him say it, you just let him show you.

Jaehee

  • She’s super caught up in the plot of this DVD
  • Seriously… she’s not blinking for a while now…
  • You, on the other hand, aren’t that interested. You’re messing on your phone and sighing dramatically from time to time.
  • She didn’t take a notice of any of these sighs!
  •  And you genuinely don’t want to get on her way in this, but ahh… you’re getting quite sleepy and her lap looks really inviting…
  • So you yawn and lie on the couch, resting your head on her lap.
  • “MC?” she looks at you all flushed and with this little reprimanding look on her eyes. “What? I’m just tired.”
  • “But I… I’m… the movie…” “You can keep watching, I’m just going to stay quiet here…” you nuzzle your head in her lap… god…
  • You’re the worst kind of tease: the one who plays innocent, ahh, if only she didn’t love this so much, her life would be so much easier…
  • “Are you really going to stay quiet?” she grabs your chin, making you look at her as she bends down slowly. “Nah, you know what? I better rest in the bed, right?” you get up, heading to the bedroom. She rolls her eyes as turning the TV off, then she follows you.
  • Her life would be easier, but waaaay less interesting if she didn’t fall for your teasing…

Jumin

  • Shhh, he’s on the phone…
  • And judging from the way his rubbing his temples, it’s a strenuous business concern.
  • You walk into his office to grab a book, but your eyes go straight at him and how tired he looks.
  • He’s been on this deal almost the whole afternoon, shouldn’t he take a little break?
  • You walk towards his desk, going behind his chair as you mess with his hair a little. He finally notices your presence and bring your hand to his, still talking on the phone, but massaging your knuckles.
  • Oh, he is the one who needs a massage… anyway, you take this as an invitation to his lap.
  • “Yes, just hold on for a minute…” he covers the speaker with his hand as he looks at you. “Can I help you with something, my love?”
  • “I’m okay. Not so sure about you, though…” you squeeze his shoulders “So tense… are you okay?” Is this a trick? Are you genuinely concerned or genuinely tempting him?
  • He hopes it’s a little bit of both, and goes back to his phone. “I’ll talk to you later. Something just came up.” Placing his phone in the desk, one hand wraps your hips as the other grabs your chin as he comes closer.
  • “Ju-Jumin!” you pull away a little “What about your work? You can’t just… no, you…” he chuckles as he hugs you again “I suppose a little break won’t do any harm?”
  •  Probably it wouldn’t, but it wasn’t exactly little…

Saeyoung

  • There’s something wrong to one of his babies. He spent all day trying to fix it by himself, messing with the gears and engines, then going inside the car and trying to start it. Nothing.
  •  You let him do his thing, but it’s getting kinda late, shouldn’t he get inside now and admit this is a job for a professional mechanic.
  • You were going to tell him that, but seeing him with his hands and face all dirty with grease stirred something in you.
  • “Having problems, buddy?” you lean on the side of the car. “Ughhhh, I’m a genius, MC! Why can’t I fix this?”he sighs in frustration, resting his body dramatically in his seat.
  • Okay, that’s your cue! It’s not exactly comfortable, but you quickly manage to get on his lap, straddling him.
  •  “Ah, honey… I know what you’re doing, but… no, I’m just so tired, I’m…” oh, you’re wearing a skirt, huh?
  •  “Then let’s get inside so you can rest.” You twitch your fingers in the back of his head, playing with the hair.  And he wants to pull away and ask you to stop, he knows he can think of a way of fixing this car, but…
  •  “Are you sure you want to wiggle against me like that, MC? You know I can feel eveeeeerything, right?”
  • He rubs your back up and down before holding your head as he brings his face up, but you tilt away from him “Yeah? So what? You only care about your car, anyway…” you pout.
  • Oh… you fight so dirty sometimes… “I’m so offended you would say this, MC. Guess I’ll have to show you how much I care about you, then.”
  • Now you’re feeling eveeeeerything too.

Saeran

  •  It’s pretty quiet around your place
  • He’s sitting on the couch, just hanging and messing with his phone.
  • So are you, you’ve been putting some things in place while typing in your phone, walking around with your eye glued on the screen.
  • After you’re done, you decide to sit on the couch, and since he’s so quiet and you’re distracted, you don’t notice the seat you’re going for it’s already taken.
  • “Hey! What are you doing?” “Oh, sorry! I didn’t see you there!” he’s clearly annoyed, but… there is something else…
  •  “Wh… wha…? How could you not have seen me? What is in your phone to keep you hooked like this?” “Oh, just this cool game I downloaded, check it out.” You adjust your legs on top of him.
  • “Whoa! What are you… why are you… still…like this?” oh, he’s not really mad, just super flustered because you never sat on his lap before.
  • “Like this how?” ah, you know you shouldn’t mess with the poor boy like this, but how can you not when he looks so cute? “Like… you know how, your legs and your…” he won’t say ass nor butt, no, he won’t say it! “Just… get out, this is weird!”
  • “Nah, I think I like it…” you wiggle, earning a low whimper from him in response. Oh, he knows what you’re doing… “You’re doing this on purpose, ain’t you?” he places his hand on top of your thighs, his eyes dart down your lips.
  • “What? No! I wasn’t even paying attention on you before!” you laugh, but your giggle soon turns into a gasp as he grips the back of your thighs, moving to get off from under you to get on top
  • “Then I’ll have to make you pay full attention on me this time.”
My top 10 Magical Girl anime

Its no secret that I LOOVE Magical Girls. Heck, just look at my screen name. Here are my top 10 favourite Magical Girl anime.

10. Revolutionary Girl Utena

Lets start with one of the most unique and complex shojo anime and manga series ever. I myself am not sure if this qualifies as an MG anime but I’ve seen many people say it is so its on the list. Anyone who thinks all shojo is the same should watch this show. By the end, you’ll be left wondering if its even a shojo. It starts off fairly lighthearted but by episode 9, it gets serious and the plot starts picking up. Plus, it features some of the most complex characters ever and it touches on some serious subjects like incest and sexual abuse. I must warn you though, its not for everyone because of the reasons I just mentioned. If you’re someone who’s extremely uncomfortable with sexual abuse and incest, I’d recommend you skip this anime.

9. Princess Tutu

Just looking at the title of this anime is enough to send some people running away and judging it. But don’t let the cute name fool you. This is one of the most misleading anime ever. Like Utena, its a shojo but its fairly dark and has some tearjerking moments. But it also has its fairly lighthearted moments and that’s something I like about this anime. The ending is also bittersweet and will leave you wondering how an anime about a duck who becomes a ballerina managed to make you cry.

8. Tokyo Mew Mew

Looking back at this anime, maybe its not exactly the best. Its got its fair share of problems like how the main character, Ichigo, took most of the spotlight. But I still have a soft spot for this anime mainly because its really adorable to watch when you’re feeling sad. And the whole concept of these animal themed Magical Girls sounds interesting. What I love about this anime is how unlike the manga, it fleshed out the other girls as well. We found out a lot about Mint, Zakuro, Lettuce and Pudding and we loved them. I also loved how Ichigo DIDN’T choose the bad boy (Kisshu) over the nice guy (Masaya). In the end, she’s the one who chooses who’s best for her. So, even with all its problems, I have a soft spot for this anime.

7. Shugo Chara

Another anime that does have its fair share of problems but I enjoyed it nonetheless. What I loved most about it was the main character, Amu Hinamori. Some people may use the dreaded M word on her, but I think she’s a wonderfully complex character and one of the most unique Magical Girl leads. I also loved all the Magical Boys (Tadase, Ikuto etc). Though I will say, it didn’t need all that romance drama. I’m one of those people who doesn’t ship Amu with anyone and prefers her as a girl who tries to find herself before going into romance.

6. Little Witch Academia

Ah yes, one of the most recent anime. I got into it via the OVAs and I watched the anime when the second season was still airing. It was very different from the OVAs but I still loved it. Its animation and art style are amazing and breathtaking to look at and overall, it just feels like a magical experience. The main character, while she might be a typical cheery MG protagonist, is charming in her own way and the amount of growth she undergoes is amazing. In a way,, she kinda reminds me of Doremi Harukaze. Speaking of which…

5. Ojamajo Doremi

This is one of the cutest anime I’ve ever seen . The character designs are all adorable and the transformation is short and simplistic rather than a long, flashy transformation. And while it remains a cute witch anime, it also handles some rather heavy topics like divorce, miscarrige and even cancer. Seriously, a character dies of cancer and she’s only 9! But it still remains a cute show, despite the tearjerking moments.

4. Cardcaptor Sakura

I recently finished this anime and I loved every moment of it. It is a really cute anime with a simple art style, great animation and amazing characters. It also did a lot of things differently from other Magical Girl shows, like how Sakura doesn’t have a transformation scene and gets all her outfits made by Tomoyo and how there’s no antagonist. Eriol did come close but in the end, he had to do it for Sakura’s own good. What I loved about it most was how it didn’t forget its non magical characters. Tomoyo is obviously important, but Sakura’s other friends all have their own stories and personalities as well. Also, it features one of the cutest couples in anime history. I can’t wait for the new anime to come.

3. Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Yuki Yuna is a Hero

Yep, its a tie. I’ve seen people fight over which of these two is better. Madoka fans claim Yuki Yuna is a ripoff and Yuki Yuna fans list of a million reasons why its so much better than Madoka. Personally, I love both anime. They’re both good in their own rights. Besides they’re similar in a lot of ways. They both have great animation, amazing characters, an interesting and compelling story and many emotional moments. They both have their flaws but all in all, they’re both great. Why can’t people just see that instead of fighting over which is the better dark MG?

2. Pretty Cure

The big Magical Girl powerhouse in Japan. Pretty Cure may be a cash cow franchise made to sell toys but that doesn’t mean it isn’t good. Yes, it has 14 seasons now and that amounts to a lot of characters. But that’s what I like about it. It has a wide range of protagonists. You have sporty protagonists like Nagisa and Hibiki, shy ones like Tsubomi, determined ones like Haruka and smart ones like Mana (much as I don’t like her). They may not all be well developed but with all the wide range of characters, kids will surely find at least one character to relate to. Plus, the series has this special thing that makes me happy, no matter how sad I might be. It just inspires me to someday, make a Magical Girl show of my own. I find this happiness even in some of the weaker seasons like DokiDoki and Happiness Charge. The gif I used is from my favourite season, Go!Princess Pretty Cure. Princess Peach should take lessons in self defence from Cure Flora.

1. Sailor Moon

I know, I know. Very obvious choice. But like many others, Sailor Moon got me into Magical Girls. Not only that, it got me into other anime as well. It may be cliched now but it still has a special place in my heart. With amazing and strong characters, great storylines and splendid transformation scenes, its no wonder this show had a big impact on the genre. Even with its problems, it is my favourite anime and manga series ever. And yes, that includes Sailor Moon Crystal.

Honourable mention

Mermaid Melody: Pichi Pichi Pitch

This is actually the second Magical Girl anime I’ve watched, after Sailor Moon. It has its problems and its a bit cheesy but I loved the concept of mermaids turning into idols. Its an amazing combination of the Magical Girl and Magical Idol genres.

Why S4 (including TFP) might be a continuation of TAB

  • TAB doesn’t end on the tarmac - it ends with Victorian Holmes looking through the window at modern Baker Street. It seems like a perfect bridge between TAB and S4. He says he’s a man out of this time, then the next thing we see is modern Sherlock tweeting and still being a bit out of character.
  • All the ‘’fuckiness’’ started in TAB, not in T6T. Like this scene
  • Their sudden change in appearance.
  • Sherlock didn’t really solve the case in TAB because that wasn’t the point. Same pattern in S4.
  • The abominable bride is an old case, so are the S4 ones. If you watch HLV and then TLD  you’ll notice they’re almost the same story.
  • ‘’You’ve been reading John’s blog’’ that’s why he imagines T6T.
  • ‘’It helps me if I see myself through his eyes sometimes’’ explains why TFP is like a Bond/horror film.
  • He tells Ella he needs to know what to do about John, then we get a retelling of HLV with broken John and Sherlock trying to save him. I hate this show?
  • Being on a plane is literally being high (on drugs). If you watch S4 with this mindset EMP becomes even more obvious. T6T - planes, TLD - drugs, TFP - planes. Same thing. They told us
  • He’s literally shown sleeping on a plane in T6T.
  • Moriarty telling Sherlock it’s not the fall that kills him. It’s the landing. And it’s unresolved because Sherlock still hasn’t woken up/hasn’t landed. We don’t even know how Sherlock survived tha fall in TRF.
  • ‘’You’re in deep Sherlock, deeper than you ever intented to be’’ hence all the plot holes. Of course it doesn’t make sense, it’s not real.
  • The girl on a plane is Sherlock. She doesn’t know how to land, the plane is going to crash. Sherlock probably can’t wake up, again, ‘’he’s deeper than he ever intended to be’’.
  • TAB flash back in TFP which ties everything up for me. Curious thing is that he’s alone there, as if he took a step back since TAB. It doesnt matter who you really are, Sherrinford, etc. Which leads us to

The virus in the data: TAB - Moriarty, S4 - Mary.

AGRA = Mary = memory stick. She’s literally stepping out of a hacker’s house. It can’t get any more obvious, can it? Well…

She infected the story, the redemption arc is just a facade and Sherlock has finally realised she’s the real virus. Miss me? That’s why the fourth season is so wrong.

It’s time to wake up, Sherlock.

I remember being really worried when the Rowdy 3 broke into Todd’s apartment and stole the picture of Amanda, when I saw Martin staring at the picture I remember literally saying ‘Oh shit’ out loud because I was very unsure of them as characters. I had no idea what they were going to do. All I knew was that they liked to destroy stuff and attack the precious ray of sunshine that is Dirk Gently. So my immediate reaction to them being outside Amanda’s house was fear based on their actions and what normally happens to females on TV shows - they become plot points to further a male’s pain. But then you find out that all they want is to be her friend and protect her. And like now when I re-watch those scenes I’m like look at how cute they all are wrecking up Todd’s apartment! And Martin looking at the picture is like ‘awww he thinks she’s cute’. And don’t get me started on the brick that say’s ‘hi’. Like that is the cutest, slightly threatening shit ever.

Just a word to the wise: No Johnlocker that I know of uses the term “shipper goggles.” That’s just a thing you and your Sherl0llian friends do because you can’t ship sherl0lly without altering what you watch. We don’t need to wear “goggles” to see Johnlock cause its blatantly in the show. Just saying’.

And while we’re here:

List of things that don’t make sense that have nothing to do with Johnlock:

((bold=overarching, bigger picture plot holes))

- Why did they reuse the title “The Six Thatchers” that was already on John’s blog without drawing any connections/parallels to it

-Why did no one know John is the author of the blog when in previous seasons everyone knew that. He has his picture on it, it’s famous, and he writes in first person

-Why did Mary lie about AGRA being her initials in HLV if she thought John was going to read the flash drive? (I know that’s s3, but s4 is what showed us what AGRA really was)

- Why did Mary’s death contradict the previous “rules” about getting shot that were established for their universe in HLV

- How is Mary sending the CD’s after her death

- How did she even know ahead of time to make the videos, since jumping in front of a bullet is a spur of the moment thing

- How do they just expect to believe that it’s possible for Sherlock to predict everyone’s every movement down to the last detail two weeks beforehand?

-And if he is able to to that, why didn’t he use that skill in any previous season since it would have been very useful

-What was the whole deal with the girl on the plane and what did that have to do with anything and… why?

- How did they jump out of an exploding second floor window and survive

- And how did items like books/ paper survive the explosions

- How are we just expected to believe that Eurus has these mind controlling powers and could take over a prison like that? And when will they stop using “they’re geniuses” as a get out of jail free card?

- Why did they used Moriarty being alive as the big cliff hanger and have him barely feature

-What was the entire point of TAB proving that Moriarty was alive?

- Why does the timeline of Moriarty and Eurus working together behind the scenes not make any sense if this really has been their ultimate plan

- How did a detective (who is supposedly smart enough to predict everyone’s every move) manage to not notice missing glass

- Why did Sherlock remember Redbeard being “put down” if that was really his repressed memory of Victor

- And why was there a dog bowl

- How did John got out of the well using a rope if his feet were chained

- After everything Eurus has done, how are we to believe everything is just magically fixed with a hug

-Where were the “loads of clues and red herrings” alluding to Eurus besides that one line in HLV

Followers please feel free to continue.

Honestly, if Marlene manages to fix every single plot hole in 7B she is a literal genius, because I cannot for the life of me figure out how to fix this mess of a show, like, I have built/read theories about pretty much every character on the show being -A, and there are still some details that don’t add up, every time. I just. Ugh. I just need to watch those last episodes and finally let my brain rest in peace.

Ok so I’ve cooled down a bit from the initial shock and anger from the episode and have formed a coherent post so lets go.

Riverdale is smart. Just go with me here. The writers are smart, we may not like them right now but they are, why? Because they write these characters and let them live and breath and act like they would if they were real people. (I can’t tell you how many shows I’ve watched where plot dictates the characters actions.)

Jughead: he is a self loathing 16 year old with LARGE abandonment issues, his mother left him, his dad for the better part of his life was not a very good father. He has always been looked down upon, bullied, treated like he didn’t matter and never thought he could ever matter. And THAT influences his decisions. He is told BY Archie that Betty does not love him and sees the dark turn he is taking and does not like it so she wants nothing to do with him. Now a person with severe abandonment and trust issues is inclined to believe his BEST friend. He is self deprecating and was honestly just waiting for this moment to happen in the back of his mind. And it hurts it hurts SO MUCH more coming from a guy who is like a brother to him. He doesn’t believe Archie would lie to him what does he have to gain from that, so he believes him.

Betty: She is a 16 year old girl who tries to appease everyone, a person who tries to protect everyone and will do anything for the ones she loves even if that mean it brings harm to herself. And these character traits influence her actions. she can’t hurt Jughead she can’t even bring herself to end things with him because it hurst so damn much she is being put in an impossible situation and she asks for help from someone who has been with her since day one someone she can trust. This kills her but she believes she can fix it she’s Betty Cooper she can solve anything she’s Nancy Drew meets girl with the dragon tattoo, but really she is just a broken girl trying to do her best to keep the people she loves safe.

-now these are traits that influence the choice these characters are making, its natural, its real, its painful, and heartbreaking… but its honest.-

Now on to that pesky kiss… its a strategical move on Toni’s part 100% she saw Jughead in a vulnerable place and took advantage of that. And going back to Jughead’s personality traits and personal issues it makes logical sense that he would succumb to this very human (and also tv dramatics but whatever) reaction. He hates himself more than anyone ever could and he is being show affection in a vulnerable and heartbreaking moment so he gives into his self hatred to feel connected and to quite the voices telling him he is not good enough not worthy. So many people make the wrong choices in moments of self doubt and loathing its what he does after that that shows who he really is and whats worth it to him.

so lets not demonize these kids until we have the full story and let the traits of these characters infilucen their choices becasue trust me its better that the ooc bull I’ve seen on other tv shows.
