i was too lazy to look for more textures

As a bit of an enthusiast when it comes to historical fashion it annoys me they tried to "modernize" it. Like the original dress wasn't period-accurate either, but it DID have a basis in history (albeit the wrong period), whereas the new dress doesn't seem to have any respect to history

i feel you, but if they had ditched the historical accuracy for a good looking dress, i would let it slide. like, i can’t speak for historical accuracy on cinderella’s dress, but just look at this

it really looks like a magical dress. like a big, fluffy, beautiful blue cloud of a dress. just looking at it makes me want to reach out and feel it’s texture. the only downside is the too tight corset, imo, but just loose it up a bit, let the poor girl fucking breathe, and you have a simple, yet regal and dreamy dress. a++

now compare it to this and just

what is this stiff, piss-colored thing. what the hell. it looks as sad as i feel while seeing it.

actually, for better accuracy, just take these two similar shots of the princesses wearing their respective gowns:

vs

really, in my opinion, there’s no competition. this dress is lazy and boring. step up your game once more, disney.

Hi there! if it's not too annoying, may I ask why you dislike Life is Strange so much?

Oh boy, where do I start. I’ve probably forgotten half of it too.

Also, before I get into it, don’t think I’m knocking anyone for liking this game. It’s obviously popular and I’m in the minority in hating it, so don’t let my opinion make you feel like you’re wrong or something. Art is subjective. Tastes differ.

Under a cut because spoilers and textwall

Someone teach me the way of clothing. Lmao. I’m going to practice drawing clothing. I think that will help for understanding 3d clothing too. Does this even look realistic. I doubt so, but you know, I still feel proud :3 BUT THE FRONT LOOKS SO FLAT AND THE BACK IS CHAOTIC TRY OF TRASH .. I can’t orz. I can’t get used to it lols. It seems two completely different pieces lmao.. Oh well ;P

I was looking at the polycount and guess how much it is :DDDD? No peekings, first guess lolol.

Flower Boy: Huang Zi Tao (EXO-M)

I finally finished it! I've been working on this for awhile now; work and school have consumed a large amount of my free time. It’s essentially a pencil drawing but I've added a lot of digital elements because I wanted to go for a more “artsy” sort of graphic look, I guess you could say. I tried a bunch of different textures but ultimately decided on a basic grainy one. I’m still a bit unsure about the flower placement, though; it seems a bit weird, but I found that I liked it more once I’d mirrored the image. Oh well, I’m too lazy to change it.

Dedicated to exotaobias16 for no reason other than she’s as big a Tao stan as I am :)

hi, i was wondering if you could share your process when it comes to drawing hair. thanks and i adore your art :)

sure!! I did this kinda quickly, but I think it captures the main point!

1. i usually start the hair after I’ve finished the main parts of the face, so I’m working over my base colors, sketch, and face layers

2. i use brush #15 in my set (HERE) to block in big chunks of hair, in tones slightly darker and slightly lighter than the base, following the organic form that hair would take

3. i use brush #200 which makes a really nice hair texture, but if you use it too much all over it can look too airbrushed. anyway, I use 200 to smooth out different chunks and paint the transitions in the hairline

4. i usually go back in with 15 and paint more highlights and flyaways so it doesn’t look to uniform

I hope that’s explanatory enough! i don’t have a STRICT process, I really just wing stuff based on how lazy i’m feeling/how complicated the hair is etc. etc. but this is my average way of doing it!! :’)

Drawing Naked Vision... (meta?)

If you’re like me, you thought “Gee golly willikers! I’d sure like to draw some Scarlet Vision art!”; but when you sat down to actually do the deed and you pulled up a reference of Vision, you thought to yourself:

Welllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllp….. Fudgepop.

I mean, how do you even….???!!!!

THAT’S THE FREAKING TOY?????

HOW DAH HELL DO I… WHA… GAH… THIS IS IMPOSSIBE! FAQ!!!!!!!!! *flips table*

It’s intimidating, right? There are layers to his form that make drawing him take for freaking ever: he’s got those lines on his “fleshy” skin (with textured patches of flesh that would probably make a “vip vip” kinda noise if you took your finger nail back and forth over it, not that I’ve wondered about that or anything… *writes down some notes for a future lemony SV ficlet*), then he’s got these plates of silvery vibranium that frame the naughtiest parts of his body (that do about as much cover-up as  Leeloo’s bandage medical outfit from Fifth Element), and then he has this textured body suit that looks armored/knitted/and lined- F*CK YOU MARVEL AND YOUR RIDICULOUSLY INTRICATE HERO SUIT DESIGNS!- with a cape that is elaborate with computery circuitry patterns that everyone is too lazy to elaborate on in their artist interpretation. Again, FU MARVEL.

So let’s just break it down to the bare skin layer with this post.

Again, or maybe this is the first time I’m mentioning it, THIS IS NOT A TUTORIAL. I’m not a professional artist, I don’t know what I’m talking about, but the Scarlet Vision tag needs more art and I know the new Vision is a beast to draw. So I thought I would give some clear artist picture references so that this tag can teem with naked Scarlet Vision fan art!

lol, I’m not out to pressure the talented artists out there to draw Scarlet Vision Nudes! Buuuuuuuuuuuut… I won’t stop you if that was already your intentions. Go wild, responsible adults.
