i was looking for something else but then i saw this

Ok I just noticed something ELSE about the mileven reunion

Dustin and Lucas.

So most likely Mike wasn’t letting his friends in on his emotional turmoil. Obviously they knew he was upset about Eleven, but I don’t imagine he was having heart to hearts with them about the specifics his feelings.

Even looking at the scene in episode 2 when he talks to Will about it. You really get the impression that that was the first time he ever really talked about how he was feeling to anyone.

Probably a big part was that he thought he was crazy for still believing she was alive. They all saw her disintigrate. He didn’t want his friends to know how torn up he was. He couldn’t bear to hear them tell him that she was gone. So he didn’t talk about it with them.

So when she comes back and Mike runs to her, holds her like she’s his lifeline, practically in tears, Lucas and Dustin are just standing there, slackjawed. They had no idea. They knew that he had been crushing on her before she disappeared, but this is no crush. This is something deeper.

And suddenly the whole past year makes sense. They understand why he had been kind of a jerk over the last year, and finally, they don’t blame him.

In my efforts to ignore all the fandom negativity, did you get to see actual heart eyes in person? Also, did Jared wink at you, I see him wink at people all the time and frankly I worry for them. Are they okay? Are they ever able to move on after that?

Hello, darling!

I did see the heart eyes! Some of them I even caught on camera, but the pictures came out fuzzy and not worth posting. It was really quite something to see them look at each other in that adorable way I’m only used to seeing on videos. It was marvelous! There is a feeling of tenderness between them, I don’t know how else to put it. They both look at each other with… reverence, I suppose.

Jared didn’t wink at me, not that I recall. The moments I was in his company were short and my brain got totally fried by his proximity, heheh. I saw several people looking a little shaky after leaving Jared and J2 photo ops, some were even crying! Tears of joy, from what I could tell. They certainly have a knack for making their fans feel special and I’m so lucky to have had the opportunity to both experience and witness it!

I wish I could tell you more, but I mean it when I say my brain got fried. You don’t fly so close to the Sun without suffering some consequences! I had to calm my nerves by smoking a couple of cigarettes after getting my picture taken by both Jared and J2. They are truly magnetic when you come face-to-face with them, and like my friends warned, you sort of leave with urge to see them again.

Luckily I’ve secured myself tickets to JIB next year, so that’s sorted! Hopefully I will be able to stay animated when I meet them again. It’s truly embarrassing how stiff I am when I’m meeting new people - you can probably imagine how that effect is magnified when I’m meeting people I so greatly admire. I hope some day you’ll get to discover the effect J2′s presence has on you, dear!

It took me a week to find where you keep your wifi password. A whole week! I was really worried you’d thrown it away, but lo and behold, there it was in the cutlery drawer of all places. Everything about the way you organize things confuses me. I guess because you live on your own now you just put things any old place. I know there was someone else before, I heard you talking about him on the phone. Johnny, I think? Jimmy? Anyway, I know because you said it was tough being alone. But you’re not alone, of course. You have me!

What to do when you fell out with your practice

Because I sure as hell needed this post when I did.

1. Realize that it‘s okay. Accept that it happened. Forgive yourself for it.

Maybe life got in the way and you just didn‘t have the time or energy or possibility. Maybe something happened on your path that got you scared, frightened, panicked, or even disgusted so that you had to take a step back and retreat. Maybe your focus simply shifted. Maybe you got bored. Maybe everything just got overwhelming and you weren‘t able to juggle magick and the mundane at the same time. Maybe mental illness got in the way.
No matter what the reason for your fall out was, accept that it happened, forgive yourself for it. Because it‘s okay, life happens in phases, and no matter the reason, how big or how small, it‘s part of your journey and totally fine. These things happen to the best of us, so don‘t blame yourself for it. It really is okay. Pinky promise.

2. Reconnect with your god(s) and/or non-physical friends, if needed.

If you‘re a spirit companion/have spirit friends like me or are devoted to a god or certain deity/ies, your time with them/devotion to them probably fell under the brick as well. If it did, reconnect. I promise chances are they‘ll understand. As I said, life happens, and they know that too. They probably saw what you were going through. Explain what happened to them, apologize, and move on, if they allow it. Just spend more time with them again, greet them good morning and wish them good night again, invite them to join you throughout your day again. I promise, any good relationship will hold, just show that you really are sorry and put in effort to show that you care again. I’m sure they missed you as well so it’s time to make up for the time you lost!

3. Don’t overwhelm and overestimate yourself.

Chances are the longer your fall-out was, the more your “psychic muscles” lost in strength. Your intuition may be a bit more out-of-tune, you may have more trouble hearing/seeing/feeling/sensing spirits and energies. Maybe you have more trouble programing things or adding energy to objects than before. That’s okay! It’s totally fine and normal, just don’t be surprised if it happens and know that with practice you’ll be back to old strength in no time! Until then, start small and work with what you have.

4. Start small, don’t rush it, one step at a time.

Start drawing a daily or weekly card again. Start carrying crystals with you again. Start laying them out under the moon to charge again. Do small rituals like maybe doing some bath magic before you rush head-first into a huge complicated thing again! Again, you don’t want to overwhelm yourself. Also, you want to build a routine again to not risk falling out again.
Some ideas on what to do when building your practice up again:

  • lay crystals, items, water, anything out under the moon/sun to charge
  • talk to plants
  • draw a daily/weekly card
  • pick a crystal to carry with you throughout the day in the morning
  • say mantras in the morning
  • infuse your tea/coffee with intent
  • send out your energetic sensers when comfortable and at home. slowly but surely
  • meditate. 5 minutes in the evening, 5 minutes in the morning. at least.
  • go for a daily walk at a certain time
  • look through your grimoire/bos if you have one. write in it again
  • doodle little sigils in your free time
  • and many, many more

5. If needed, make a schedule.

As I said, you may want to build a routine. If those work for you, make a daily or weekly plan. Look up transits and check when you have time, then create your own magical schedule. If need be, set some reminders on your phone. Just try to be disciplined about it for a while so that you get back into your practice smoothly!

6. Reinvent your craft.

You probably changed since you last practiced, or maybe there was a reason IN your practice that caused the fall-out. If so, identify what it was. Reflect on yourself, your practice, your life. How can you make everything run together more smoothly? Maybe you want to focus more on the mundane than the spiritual, and if so that’s totally fine. Adapt your practice in a way that fits and feels good, it’s all yours so feel free to do whatever you want! Maybe you want to shift the focus IN your practice, or maybe you want to stop doing something, maybe start doing something else (instead).

(Optional) 7. Talk to others.

Sometimes it is so, so hard to not feel incredibly bad and like you fucked yourself or your life or your relationships up when this happens (and not just in relation to magic but other things as well). Please know that you’re not alone on this and if your own up-lifting thoughts and words are not enough, seek validation outside. I promise that’s not a selfish or vain thing to do, it’s natural and human and you deserve to be told that you’re doing just fine. Go to a trusted friend, family member, maybe blogger, anyone. If you want, you can always come to me. Talk to someone about how things are going now, talk to them about the things you just did to make yourself feel good about doing this.

💗 No matter what, it’s all good. I promise. These things just happen and there is no reason to blame yourself - please take good care of yourself and know that you come first - magic and everything else second.
I hope this was useful to some, I know it helped me as I’m just getting out of a fall-out, too. I hope you all have a magical day~! 💗

There’s a Ball?

So, this was a prompt. I have included the ask at the very end this time because I don’t want to give away the spoiler! Another one that was slightly longer than expected. Oh well.

———————————–

“Did you hear?” A boy whispered in delight, voice echoing around the now silent corridor. Draco rolled his eyes heavily. What was with immature people being obsessed with gossip? One would think that there would be better things to talk about than mindless shite.

“Harry Potter is coming back for the Remembrance Ball next month!”

Draco froze as he fought the urge to demand the boy to spill his sources. It wouldn’t do well to bring himself attention, especially about Potter.

Excited whispers broke out as they all waited for Slughorn to open his door for class.

“Where did you hear that?” Smith asked doubtfully. “Someone else brought up Potter at the beginning of the year but it turned out to be false.”

For once, Draco was rather grateful for the Hufflepuff’s insight. He just hoped that it wouldn’t be a recurring thing.

“I overheard McGonagall telling Flitwick about it when I was passing by the staffroom.”

Draco furrowed his brows. If Potter was stopping by for a visit, Granger or Weasley would have acted like it, wouldn’t they? He shot a look towards Granger, who had a book on Modern Goat Conspiracy Theories compared to Anciently Deceased Theories open in one hand and their Potion’s book in the other. Surely, she couldn’t be reading both, right? Weasley had his head resting on Granger’s shoulder and appeared to be asleep. His mouth was open and Draco was pretty sure he saw drool.

The clang of the door opening had Draco putting this behind him. It was no doubt just gossip.

 ———————————————————-

“If Potter is coming back for the ball, who do you think will be his date?” Abbott asked as Draco sighed heavily, a few seats away from her in History of Magic.

“Who says he has to have a date?” Macmillan asked with a scoff. “I’m going stag and there’s nothing wrong with that.”

Finch-Fletchley snorted loudly. “You’re going stag because everyone you asked turned you down.”

Draco was incredibly sick of everyone talking about Potter. This was getting out of hand. What was with everyone being obsessed with the savior? Merlin, there had to be better things to talk about.

“That’s because he is blind to Abbott’s desperate pining after him.” Draco snarked, not bothering to turn around. He was just fed up with the whole conversation.

There was a stunned silence that filled the room. Macmillan sounded as if he was choking on his own tongue and that was certainly the highlight to Draco’s day.

“Is—Is Malfoy telling the truth?” Macmillan whispered, sounding awed. As if he hadn’t noticed that the girl had been in love with him for seven years.

               “I—umm.”

Draco spared a miniscule moment of guilt as the girl sounded positively miserable. But it was for the best. He knew how this would end. And really, what was a little pain as long as it ended in happiness? Well, if they actually lasted as a couple that is. As a realist, he predicted those two would break up after one or two children.

“Would you like to go to the ball with me?” Macmillan’s tone was scared, which had Draco rolling his eyes.

“Yes!” Abbott squeaked out far louder than was necessary, causing Draco to nod approvingly.

And if a small smile also escaped, well, no one had to know.

Stolen Moments

Adrien loved moments like this.

Pinned between the door and his girlfriend’s lovely figure, he felt himself growing hot and dizzy under her kisses. Yet he refrained from crying out her name, or for taking it any further. It wasn’t exactly the best situation to do anything besides make out and desperately wish they were somewhere more private.

“So did you lure me here to make sweet music, my lady?” he teased, referring to their new hiding spot in the music cupboard, in between short gasps for air as Marinette trailed hot kisses down his jawline.

Marinette nibbled his neck in response, giggling as she did so. “You’re impossible. To pun even when an awesome girl is kissing you.” Standing on her tiptoes, she reached up and kissed his nose. “And I did not lure you here. You followed me!”

“You started it,” Adrien teased, playing with a loose lock of hair at the side of her face. “You can’t walk past me giving me bedroom eyes-”

“Bedroom eyes!?”

“- Yup! Bedroom eyes. Can’t use them and not expect me to follow you.”

Marinette rolled her eyes, wiggling out of his grasp to search the cupboard for whatever it was Nino had asked her to grab. At least, that’s what Adrien assumed she was here for. Why else would a fashion student go to the music department of their university? “A- I did not use bedroom eyes, and B- you know that’s only about eighty-three percent stalkery of you, right?”

Adrien ducked after her, half-chasing her around a dusty shelf filled with handheld drums. Grinning from ear to ear, he caught her waist, pulling her flush against him. “Only eight-three percent? I need to up my game. You doing anything tonight? Mind if this poor stray follows you home?”

“God it’s a good thing you’re pretty,” Marinette sighed, but the falseness of her exasperation was given away by the smirk on her lips and the spark of mirth in her eyes. Adrien’s heart skipped a beat. “I don’t think I could stand it if you weren’t.”

“I knew you only liked me for my body,” Adrien gasped, flopping down onto her shoulder and letting out a huge fake sob. “Such betrayal, love bug! My heart can’t take it!”

“You’ll live,” Marinette snorted in response, patting him on the head. “Or maybe you won’t. But if you survive then sure, you’re welcome to stalk- I mean- walk me home.”

Lifting up his head, Adrien smiled. Leaning his forehead against hers, he let himself rest there for a moment. Sensing his change of mood, Marinette sighed in contentment. Her smirk turned into a small smile, the last thing Adrien saw before he closed his eyes and let himself relax.

There were times where he felt like this wasn’t real, that he’d not been so lucky as to find his best friend and love of his life wrapped up in one wonderful person. Truthfully, he feared it. The happiness he felt seemed almost like it wasn’t meant to last, like clouds after a rainstorm, just before the sun was about to reappear. He clung to moments such as these, how quickly they could go from heated to teasing to loving. He had to. Everything about his past suggested that it wasn’t going to last.

But then Marinette would do something to remind him that he wasn’t his past. Things that seemed so simple, but were everything to him. Things that made him remember that the moments weren’t fleeting. Things like reaching up to take her hands in his, pulling them to her lips and whispering a fond “I love you,” to make him remember that it was real. That his past was his past, and they could make their future whatever they wanted it to be.

Adrien loved moments like this. Stolen moments he could lock away in his mind, to repeat over and over again until they were as much a part of him as his lungs or his heart.

But what Adrien really loved the most, was the fact that Marinette was such a good partner in crime. Stealing those moments right along with him.

Although, judging from the fact that they were superheroes, he thought he ought to get a better analogy. He made a mental note to do so when he wasn’t so utterly distracted by the girl in his arms.

“I love you too,” he whispered, pouring every bit of emotion he had into the look he sent her way. “And you’re giving me bedroom eyes again.”

“Not again.” Marinette pulled him closer, wrapping her arms around his shoulder, her eyes heavy. “Just for the first time.”

It was as Adrien was preparing for another one of their stolen moments that three large knocks reverberated from the music room door. Marinette squeaked, leaping away from Adrien whilst Adrien tried to wipe the lipstick off of his face.

“DUDES” Nino’s voice echoed through the closed door. He did not sound pleased. “CAN YOU STOP TRYING TO MAKE BABIES FOR FIVE FREAKING MINUTES AND GET ME MY DAMN SPARE GUITAR STRINGS? I HAVE AN EXAM IN LIKE A HALF HOUR!”

Marinette turned a delightful shade of pink, though she didn’t try to deny Nino’s accusations. Quickly snatching the strings she’d offered to get for him, she walked over to the door and opened it with a sheepish smile. “Sorry Nino.”

Nino raised his eyebrow. Looking between the pair, he shook his head but thanked Marinette for the strings nonetheless. “‘Kay,” he shrugged, offering a little salute. “As you were.”

As he closed the door behind him, leaving Adrien and Marinette alone, Adrien couldn’t help but chuckle. “And here I was thinking Nino stole our stolen moment!”

Marinette buried her head in her hands, the tips of her ears red enough to rival her ladybug suit.

A surprise oneshot from mine and @edendaphne‘s reverse love square college au When Duty and Desire Meet- which you can read on AO3! This is a look into what their lives might be like post reveal but who knows if the main plot will go in this direction or not? *evil cackle* ;D

Try to bully me, new boss? This will be your shortest job ever.

Back in the day, I worked as an independent IT consultant, and was hired on along with another independent to subcontract on a team for a major consulting house, we’ll call it CH. Everyone else on the team was a CH employee. The two of us were not supposed to tell the client that we weren’t part of CH, but the client figured it out pretty fast, because we independents were doing most of the work while CH’s code monkeys were busy filling out spreadsheets all day and going on team-building exercises. But I digress.

The project ran past its initial deadline, and my contract expired. I stayed on a week-to-week basis, as a professional courtesy to get the project finished, because I liked the client if not the team. Unfortunately the CH project manager was booked somewhere else for his next gig, and they brought in a new guy to replace him. Let’s call him David Stress.

David flew in on a Monday morning to get the project handed off to him, and immediately started pissing on everything to mark his territory. He was derogatory and belittling to the team, and liked to raise his voice. I was working in my office (well, actually a closet with folding tables that I shared with three other team members) and didn’t hear what he was saying out in the main room, but I could sure hear his tone. Then he burst in to the “office” and demanded, “How are we doing [specific payroll-related conversion task]?” I said, “We’re using [program X].” He waved his hand dismissively and scoffed. “That’s stupid. [Program X] won’t work for this. You need to do something else.” The other indie was in the room at the time, and she saw me coming up out of my chair; she told me later she thought I was going to deck him. I knew he was full of shit because I WROTE PROGRAM X. It was custom code for this project, and he had no way of knowing what it would or wouldn’t do. He was just trying to bully me and be the alpha dog.

I did not deck him. Instead, I went to the client’s payroll manager, with whom I’d been working closely for months, and who was driving the client side of the project. I laid it on the line. I said, “Look, I know you know I don’t work for CH. I’m here on an independent contract. That contract is up, and I’ve been working here week-to-week just to get you guys through.” She told me she was aware of this. “Okay. This new guy, David Stress, is a bully and a blowhard, and I won’t work with him. I have no contract at this point, and with him running the project I won’t be back next week. I’m not asking you to do anything specific about it; I’m just letting you know as a courtesy so you can plan to transition my work to someone else.” She sat back in her chair, thought a moment, and said, “Okay. Thanks for letting me know.”

Two hours later, David Stress was removed from his new position. The payroll manager, faced with losing the one technical guy on the team who actually knew what was going on with a very complicated payroll system, called CH and said “We don’t want this new guy, take him away.” CH rearranged some things to keep the original project manager with the project.

The funniest part of the whole thing was that CH had scheduled a “welcome” dinner for David at a posh steakhouse that evening. Rather than create the further embarrassment of cancelling the dinner, they actually went ahead with it, as a “farewell” dinner for David, who had been on the project for less than one day. It was fun to watch him try to put on a brave face for that.

(Yes, I did stay with the project to the end after that, and yes, they went live successfully.)

billy hargrove x reader

words: 1303 (this one got long idk i love dacre’s face)

warnings: language, fighting

request:  Could you do an Imagine where Billy flirts with the reader and he’s like a dick to everyone else but her and he even kicks someone’s ass because the person tried to flirt with the reader. Like not as aggressively as his fight with Steve at the end. Thanks if you do it :)

Billy Hargrove had a reputation. It wasn’t a good one, as most saw him as kind of a dick. His ‘fuck you’ attitude and disregard for what people thought of him, most of Hawkins wasn’t quite sure how to feel about him. Most were intimidated, trying to fly under his radar. But you never really understood why.

You’d only ever seen him as caring and kind since the first day you met him. He was always more concerned of you than himself. He gave you a sea of compliments, no matter how many times you told him to stop, and was the first person you called when you just needed something. From the first day you met him, he was nothing but the most amazing guy in the world, it was hard to think of him as otherwise. He always sat with you at lunch on the same bench every day, even though it wasn’t his lunch period. You sat on the bench now, basking in the sunlight and waiting for him.

“How’s my favorite girl?”

Missing Bughead scene from 2x06

“I’m doing this to protect you.”

The words filtered through his brain like liquid fire, he was hurting, and it burned, but.. god there were ashes, there was hope.

There had to be a reason, something so painful and difficult it made raindrop tears gather in the corner of Betty Coopers haunted green eyes.

“I love you, I don’t think I can stop.”

She loved him, she had said so surrounded by his new family and his old, dirt under his boots and that flimsy white tank top that made it hard for Jughead not to run his fingers over the bare skin of her arms. She looked like something out of a dream, The Beautiful and wholesome Sandra Dee to his double edged, hard knock life Danny Zuko. She was holding something though, something so heavy he could practically see the physical weight of the burden on her shoulders.

She was pressed against the glass window of Reggie Mantles slick black camaro, teeth tearing into the soft skin of her perfectly pink lips. She wasn’t speaking and neither was he, both teens were thoroughly shook from the events that had just taken place. They were scared, and…damn it seemed like they both had reasons to be, it was about time Jughead found out Betty’s.

The car jolted to a stop, Betty snapping forward, her eyes quickly landing on Jugheads.

“What’s the matter?! What’s happening?! we can’t just stop, the police!” She was frantic, her fingers reaching for her cell phone as “unknown” flashed on the screen for the third time in the past fifteen minutes.

“Call it a pit stop, you wanna answer that call Betty?” Jugheads voice was calm and level, every nerve of his body was vibrating but he was calm on the outside. They were going to talk about this and they were going to talk about it now.

The ringing came to an abrupt stop and Betty dropped the phone to the space between the seats

“No.” She whispered “No I’m not.” Her eyes catching his, if he wanted to talk about it She was ready, he could tell from the flicker in her eyes.

“You said..” Jughead cleared his throat, mouth dry with anxiety “you said that I wouldn’t understand, that you were trying to protect me? Betty who are you protecting me from?”

The beautiful blonde in the seat beside him took an audibly shaky breath, her fingers twisting together as she stared down at her hands before she began

“I’ve been getting… calls. I’ve been getting calls from the black hood, a lot of calls.” She whispered, the words sounding almost robotic as she repeated what she had told Veronica “you remember the letter? How he said he’s doing this all for me? Well, he meant it, when I talk to him, when I listen to him, he doesn’t hurt anyone, he doesn’t kill. I’m stopping him, but only if I listen. He…” Betty released her fingers placing a hesitant hand on Jugheads arm, not surprised to see the anger in his eyes. “He said he would hurt you unless I cut everything off. He won’t leave me alone. He… he’s obsessed with me.”

It was a silent for a moment, processing time, no time to think, just absorb, take it in.

But only for a second.

His lips were on hers, his fingers threading through her ponytail as he knocked the tiny red bandana from her hair. He was whispering something against her lips, it sounded like a prayer as he pushed his forehead against hers.

“I love you.” He whispered “I’m sorry.”

Betty’s hands came up to cup his cheeks

“I love you, don’t be sorry. I’m sorry I sent Archie, I couldn’t face you. I knew… I knew you would be able to tell, I knew that you would know I was lying. You know me Jughead, better than anyone else.”

The young Serpents face contorted into something of pure anguish

“I don’t though, I gave up on you. I stopped believing in you, in us. Betty I have to tell you something.” His voice cracked, a broken sound that ripped right through Betty’s heart, a worried frown marring her perfect features.

“It’s okay.” She whispered, fingers stroking his cheeks “it’s okay, you can tell me.”

He couldn’t look at her, not after this, not after everything seemed to be falling into place for the moment and he was about to destroy whatever peace they had made.

“Me and Toni… we kissed, we kissed more than once.” The words fell from his lips, his eyes searching hers desperately for something, anything.

Slowly but agonizingly painful her fingers slipped from his face, her body pushing closer to the Camaros door.

“I saw you.” She whispered a far away look in her eyes “at Pops, with her, just the day after. You were happy, she makes you happy.”

“No!” Jughead came close to wailing “no, it’s not like that. She’s my friend, she knows I could never be over you. Betty I love you. It was a heat of the moment thing. I thought you were gone. You make me happy, I love you Betty Cooper.” He dropped his forward to hers, tears falling to his cheeks and onto the leather of his jacket. He pulled her closer, the emergency brake digging into her thigh.

After a few moment of painful silence that seemed to go on for hours, Betty spoke

“We have things we need to work on. We have things we still need to talk about, work through, but… I’m here and so are you and I think… I know we can get through this… together.” Her eyes finally found his, sadness still there but something new, something familiar.

She was Tired. Tired of fighting it, tired of being away from him. Just tired, and so was he and there was still a war going on, still things being thrown at them from every direction but…

They were here, and that?

That meant everything.

The demon takes Adam’s body until Persephone reminds him that he never told the demon that it could. Adam’s so smart, such a problem solver, it’s odd that he didn’t figure this one out himself. Except. Adam’s body has never been his own. Adam’s grown up with his body being a thing for other people to use for their own purposes. Adam has spent his life dissociating from his body because he never knows when it’s going to betray him by becoming a target for another man’s rage. Adam has blacked out and seen his body taken over by that same rage before. He thinks, deep down, he is infected with it. It’s a disease he carries in his DNA, so of course the day would come when something evil unlocks that sickness and brings it to full effect. Of course the monster would use his body, him.

It takes a gentle reminder from a woman who saw inside him like no one else ever could, that you are not the demon. You can take control of your actions. You get to choose what you become, this is not your destiny.

The heartbreaking thing is how Adam was so quick to accept this was his destiny, without his usual problem solving analysis, without dissecting the causes and potential outcomes and other angles, without ever separating himself from the problem at hand and thinking, I can resolve this. He just assumes this is a thing he can’t control. But as soon as Persephone says it, as soon as he does choose control, realises that being a monster does not have to be inevitable, the demon loses its grip on him. And what a revelatory moment that must have been for Adam Parrish. To understand that even with his darkness, his infected, ugly genes, he has the power to choose to be something else.

And then he goes, fearless in this power, to see his parents and tell them he is no longer theirs. He can ask for some kind of association with them because he no longer is them. He can look his father in the eye and tell him he’s wrong because he’s no longer afraid he’ll see himself looking back.

God that whole arc is so powerful that when I think about it sometimes I stop breathing. The power in Adam Parrish is awesome - the dictionary definition kind of awesome: inspiring an overwhelming feeling of reverential respect, mixed with wonder or fear.

Adam fucking Parrish, man.

Good Perception, Wrong Direction

Context: As the GM I make checks easier if you’re doing them the right way so to speak. So if something is in the bookcase and you search the bookcase it’s easier than searching the whole room. The party is also Level 10 at this point.

(Me) GM: Alright as you’re going through the swamp and Druid is leading the way roll perception.

Monk: Rolls well, specifies watching the water so nothing sneaks up below them.

Rest of the party: Sub 15 and 20 rolls.

Me: As you’re trudging through the Swamp you go a while before noticing anything but eventually you see a few ripples in the water and look up as you hear a howl and see a swamp man otherwise known as a Fen Mauler coming at you. Roll initiative.

Monk: I was expecting everyone else to be able to cover the other directions!

Me: Hey man it’s like Jurassic Park you saw the ripples in the water as they were coming towards you better than nothing.

Monk: But I had such a good perception.

Me: Good Perception, Wrong Direction.

Steve couldn’t help but roll his eyes at the guy standing a few feet away from him. Billy Hargrove was the resident bad boy at Hawkins High School. He was obnoxious and a total asshole.

The two of them clashed on multiple occasions. It was clear that they would never ever be friends and Steve was perfectly okay with that. He didn’t want to associate himself with a guy like Billy.

“The things that I would do to that beauty.” Billy whistled making a couple of guys around him laugh.

Steve had been tying his shoes and trying to ignore the stupid shit coming from Billy’s mouth. He looked up to see the poor girl that had gotten Billy’s current attention.

He was shocked when he saw that it was you.

The two of you thought you were alone in the dorm, which was why you had turned the TV on at full volume, and laughed loudly at every single funny thing that happened in the comedic movie that you guys were watching.

Suddenly, the fun was interrupted when the door of Jin’s bedroom was thrown open. Both of you turned to look at Namjoon – who had just burst into the room – with startled expressions.

“Namjoon, what—”

“It’s loud,” Namjoon cut Jin off, a frustrated expression on his face. “You’re loud. Some people are trying to work here.”

“Sorry, we didn’t realize anyone else was here,” you added awkwardly.

Namjoon glared at you. “How would you? You don’t even live here.”

He only told the truth, you tried to tell yourself to avoid feeling hurt by these words. It wasn’t as important what he said, but the way he said it. He looked really annoyed with you and his eyes told you that he’d rather you weren’t here.

“Namjoon,” Jin said, suddenly getting up from the bed. “Can I talk to you outside for a moment?”

“I have to get back to work,” Namjoon turned him down and began to close the door.

“It will only take a moment,” Jin repeated in a stern voice and Namjoon sighed deeply before walking into the hallway to wait for Jin.

“What’s the matter with you?” Jin accused Namjoon, once he closed the door. “Why do you always turn into such a dick whenever Y/n’s over?”

Namjoon debated what to say for a moment and then sighed. “I don’t like her, man.”

Jin hadn’t expected him to say that which is why it took him a moment to regain his balance.

“W-why?” Jin asked.

“I don’t know,” Namjoon shrugged his shoulders, looking down. “Maybe it makes no sense, but she’s just… I don’t know. You’re always with her. Literally, always. You’re late to rehearsals and you’re constantly stuck in your dream world. It’s like… It’s like we lost you.”

“I’m in love, Joon,” Jin said, sighing sadly. “I’m sorry for being late, but I’m not sorry for anything else.”

Namjoon just nodded and swallowed, suddenly feeling very uncomfortable.

“You haven’t lost me,” Jin continued then. “Maybe I’ve just been a little preoccupied with my relationship but I’m still here. I’m still the same person. And, honestly, it hurts me to see you dislike the girl that I’m in love with. Give her a chance, Joon. Please.”

“I’ll try,” Namjoon said. “I’m happy for you, Jin. I am, even if it doesn’t seem that way. Just… try to find a way to make your relationship and job work, okay? And apologize to Y/n for me.”

Jin nodded his head and the two boys watched each other for a moment before laughing uncomfortably and sharing a quick hug to let each other know that there were no hard feelings between them.

Yoongi was exiting his studio, on his way to his bedroom to prepare for your date, when he heard a voice outside of Jin’s room and stopped short.

“He’s not coming,” Jin was talking to someone on the phone. “Ever since he met Y/n, he hasn’t bothered to hang out with us. I’m not going to even ask him.”

Yoongi’s heart started to race when he heard your name slip from Jin’s lips. He listened more intently but he couldn’t hear what the other person on the phone was saying.

“No, I’m pretty sure she tells him not to go,” Jin said, then. “I mean, Yoongi was never a big fan of parties but if we asked him nicely, he would go. But then he started dating—”

Not wanting to hear him say your name again, Yoongi stepped into the room, surprising Jin and forcing him to drop his phone in panic.

“Knocking seems to be a thing that exists!” Jin exclaimed, clutching his chest and breathing deeply. “You scared the hell out of me.”

“What the fuck were you talking about?” Yoongi asked.

“W-what do you mean?” Yoongi saw Jin hang up the phone and put the phone in his back pocket without getting up from the bed.

“I heard you talk about Y/n, hyung,” Yoongi said. “It’s not cool.”

“Oh,” Jin said and then stayed quiet for a moment, trying to choose his next words. “I didn’t mean to offend you. It’s just that she’s sort of stealing you away from the rest of us, isn’t she?”

“She’s not stealing me away from anyone,” Yoongi replied angrily. “I’m the one who makes the choice to spend as much time with her as I can because, believe it or not, I love her. And I’ve never had anything like that before.”

“Look, I understand but—”

“No, Jin,” Yoongi stopped him, shaking his head. “If there’s a ‘but,’ then you don’t understand. And honestly, I can’t believe you would voluntarily talk shit about someone that means so much to me.”

“I’m not talking shit,” Jin defended himself. “And for the record, you haven’t even introduced her to us.”

“Well, maybe the reason why I haven’t introduced her to you is because you’re already behaving like a dick,” Yoongi said. “It’s already hard for her to be with me, she doesn’t need my friends hating her, too.”

Jin sighed, finally understanding that fighting with Yoongi about this was pointless. He was never going to win.

“I’m sorry,” Jin said, finally. “I’ll be nice. All of us will be. Bring her around sometime.”

Fighting the urge to yell a little more, Yoongi swallowed. “I’ll think about it.”

“Taehyung,” Hoseok called out. “Is something wrong?”

Taehyung raised his head from the phone in his hands and shrugged his shoulders.

“Okay, hold on,” Hoseok told the five guys around him and headed towards Taehyung, sitting down next to him once he reached him. “Seriously, what’s the matter?”

Taehyung took a deep breath and locked his phone before turning to look at Hoseok.

“Don’t take this the wrong way,” Taehyung started. “But I don’t think Y/n is the girl for you.”

Hoseok’s mouth had suddenly gone dry. “Sorry, what?”

“I know you like her and that’s great, hyung,” Taehyung said. “But, really, there’s so many fish in the sea. I could introduce you to—”

“Wait, Taehyung,” Hoseok placed a hand on Taehyung’s face, covering his mouth to prevent him from saying anything else. “What are you trying to tell me? That I shouldn’t be with Y/n?”

“Well…” Taehyung shrugged his shoulders. “She’s just so… weird. And she’s not your type at all.”

“I don’t have a type,” Hoseok said. “And if I did, I’m sure I’d just describe Y/n.”

“You say that now, but, seriously, hyung, she’s just a girl—”

“She’s not just a girl!” Hoseok jumped up from the couch, suddenly overwhelmed with emotion. “She’s the love of my life.”

Taehyung wasn’t expecting this. Not even Hoseok himself expected to say that.

Intense silence was the only thing left in the room as Hoseok tried to get himself together. Once he felt like he did, he turned to look at Taehyung with a soft expression.

“I love her,” he told him. “And I’m sorry if you can’t accept that. But I would love it if you at least tried. I’m really not looking for anyone else, Taehyung. I’m happy with her.”

Taehyung swallowed slowly, understanding. “Okay. I’m sorry.”

Hoseok nodded, standing up again.

“Maybe try to get to know Y/n better,” he addressed Taehyung one more time. “I’m sure you’d really like her if you tried.”

Namjoon always claimed that you brought out the best in him and all of the guys seemed to love you for it. They immediately accepted you as one of their own, and whenever the seven of them hung out together, they would invite you, too.

You were more than happy to hang out with them, of course. The only downside was Yoongi.

At first, you thought he looked annoyed all of the time, but then you found out that this was not the case. He was actually a really fun guy. And yet, whenever you were over at the dorm, Yoongi was always looking frustrated. You tried to start up a conversation with him, but he just cut you off shortly, basically letting you know that you shouldn’t even try.

You hated that. You saw how happy it made Namjoon to know that you got along with his friends and you didn’t want him to suddenly be upset because Yoongi seemed to have a problem with you. Which is why you decided to take matters into your own hands.

“Can I talk to you, Yoongi?” you asked him one night, when the eight of you were hanging out in the dorm.

“We’re talking,” Yoongi replied subtly enough, so no one else would notice his immediate change in demeanor.

“No, I mean, alone,” you said. “I just have something I want to tell you.”

Namjoon perked up at this. “Keeping secrets from me, baby?”

You saw Yoongi roll his eyes at the nickname and you frowned for a moment, but then turned to face your boyfriend with a soft smile.

“Of course not,” you told him, quickly kissing him on the cheek. “Actually, this is about you. But I’ll tell you later.”

You stood up from the couch, giving Yoongi an expecting look. He finally realized that he had no choice but to follow you or he’d end up causing a scene in front of the others and that was clearly not what he wanted. So, groaning loudly, he got up from the couch and followed you out of the room.

“Why do you hate me so much?” you asked Yoongi right away, as soon as he closed the door, separating you from the rest of the guys.

“What?” Yoongi blinked. “Where did you get that from?”

“Come on, it’s obvious. You always turn into a huge mess of anger and frustration around me,” you said. “And we’ve barely had any conversations. So, what is it? What have I done wrong?”

Yoongi sighed and looked back to make sure the door was still closed.

“It’s not you, Y/n,” Yoongi said. “It’s just… don’t get me wrong, but you’re always here.”

Now that was a punch in your face you weren’t expecting. “I’m not sure how I could get you wrong.”

“No, it’s not what I—” Yoongi shook his head, sighing again. “Okay, thing is, before you come over, Namjoon always gives us a long lecture – emphasis on long – about how we need to be on our best behavior once you’re around. And you’re always around! And all of a sudden, the rest of the guys just got used to you, and they can fool around and avoid Joon’s dirty looks but I can’t.”

You listened patiently, not daring to interrupt him.

“So, it’s not you that I hate,” Yoongi said. “I hate the fact that for some reason, I can’t be myself around you because Namjoon seems to think that you’ll leave him if you don’t like us.”

“That is bullshit,” you spoke finally. “First of all, I’d never leave Namjoon, I love him with all of my heart. Second of all, I’m sorry. I didn’t know. Please don’t feel obligated to hold yourself back from whatever you want to do when I’m around. You can be yourself around me.”

“So Namjoon can lock me out of the dorm later? No thanks.”

“He wouldn’t do that,” you said with some hesitation. “I’ll talk to him about this, okay? I really don’t want you to feel uncomfortable around me.”

Slowly, Yoongi nodded.

You nodded back. “I’m glad we talked about this.”

“Me too,” Yoongi agreed. “And I’m sorry I gave you the impression that I hated you.”

Jimin jumped around the back of the stage, telling everyone who listened that his girlfriend was in the audience tonight and he was ecstatic. This wasn’t the first time you would see him perform, but this was the first time you came to their actual concert.

However, thirty minutes until showtime, Jimin’s excitement died down.

“Oh God,” he said loudly. “What if I forget my moves? What if I get so distracted that I forget I’m even on stage? Or worse! What if I forget the lyrics?”

“Whoa,” Hoseok interrupted his self-doubt. “Where did that come from?”

“I don’t know,” Jimin admitted. “I just know that Y/n’s here and I want to perform really well, so she would be impressed. But I’m so nervous that I feel like I’ll screw up.”

“Come on, Jimin, you’re always nervous,” Hoseok said with an encouraging smile. “You’ll be great!”

“No, but I’m freaking out,” Jimin continued. “Seriously, what if—”

“Jimin, is this because Y/n’s here?” Hoseok said, suddenly serious. “Because you tend to lose the grip on yourself whenever she’s in the audience. So, maybe – and this is just a suggestion – you shouldn’t bring her to your shows.”

“Shouldn’t bring her to my—what?” Jimin stopped fidgeting and looked at Hoseok with confusion. “But I want her to see me perform.”

“Do you, really?” Hoseok asked. “Because it sounds to me like you just need validation. And you’re making it seem that if you screw up on stage, she’ll dump you. So, I’m just saying that maybe, if you feel this terrified of her seeing you do something wrong, she’s not the one for you.”

Jimin was completely taken aback by his words. “Are you serious, hyung? I just needed you to tell me that everything would be okay, not give me relationship advice.”

“How many times have I told you that everything was going to be okay?” Hoseok countered. “I’m losing patience here. So, I’m sorry, but I’m just telling the truth.”

Hoseok had turned around to walk away, but Jimin grabbed his arm, stopping him.

“Do you… not like Y/n, or something?” he asked carefully.

Hoseok bit his lip, looking for the right way to say this. “When she makes you this nervous – no. Not particularly.”

“But it’s not her that’s making me nervous,” Jimin said. “It’s me.”

“Yeah. And you’re nervous because of her. So, technically…”

Jimin just watched Hoseok for a minute.

“I don’t like this conversation,” Jimin said finally. “I don’t like hearing you say that you don’t like my girlfriend.”

“Okay,” Hoseok shrugged. “I’m going to go find the—”

“No, wait,” Jimin stopped him again. “If I promise to get a grip on myself whenever Y/n’s in the audience, do you promise to never ever use the words ‘hate’ and ‘Y/n’ in the same sentence again?”

“I don’t hate her, Jimin,” Hoseok said with a sigh. “I just don’t like that she turns you into a nervous wreck before every show.”

“It’s not her fault!” Jimin said a little louder than he intended to and a few make-up artists turned their heads to look at them. “It’s my fault I’m nervous. She’s not doing anything wrong. So, dislike me, if you have to. Not her.”

“But—”

“No, hyung,” Jimin cut him off. “Y/n’s incredible. I love her. There’s no reason for anyone to hate her and I won’t accept it if people do that.”

Hoseok, understanding that this was a lost cause, and Jimin wasn’t even hearing him, just nodded. “Okay.”

“Okay,” Jimin repeated. “I’m going to go to freak out to Jungkook now.”

You always found Jungkook intimidating and you’ve told this to Taehyung multiple times. And every time, Taehyung would say that it’s nonsense and that it’s just your imagination because maybe Jungkook just wasn’t used to you yet.

But it’s been a year and Jungkook still left the room when you entered it. Every time he did that, you shot Taehyung a helpless look but he would just shrug his shoulders and smile, making you forget your worries momentarily.

Taehyung always did everything he could to make you feel welcome around the dorm, and the other guys seemed to like you, too. And yet Jungkook’s indifference still made the atmosphere glum for you.

“If this upsets you so much, I’ll talk to him,” Taehyung said one day after he noticed your face fall once Jungkook left the room again. “But really, you have no reason to feel uncomfortable here.”

You nodded but didn’t say anything. Taehyung placed a quick kiss on your temple and got up to find where Jungkook had gone to.

“Jungkook!” he called out in the hallway.

“Yeah?” a voice replied somewhere at the end of the hall and Taehyung headed over there to find Jungkook sitting on the counter in the kitchen.

“What are you doing here?” Taehyung asked him.

A little confused, Jungkook shrugged his shoulders. “Sitting.”

“Why’d you leave the living room?” Taehyung said. “We were about to watch a movie. Y/n said—”

An involuntary groan slipped past Jungkook’s lips and Taehyung stopped talking instantly.

“What… the hell was that?” Taehyung asked. “Do you not like Y/n?”

Jungkook stayed quiet but Taehyung wasn’t going to leave him alone.

“Do you seriously not like her?” he asked again. “Why? What’s wrong?”

“You never shut up about her,” Jungkook said so quietly that Taehyung almost didn’t hear him. “Whenever we do something, it’s always like Y/n this, Y/n that.”

Taehyung hadn’t realized that he talked about you that much. “Okay. So, tell me to stop talking about her.”

“I did,” Jungkook said, finally raising his eyes to meet Taehyung’s. “You stopped for, like, five minutes and started again. Do you realize that our team lost nearly every match on Overwatch because you—”

“Please don’t make this about Overwatch,” Taehyung stopped him. “I’m sorry if I annoyed you by talking about her all of the time. But you’re seriously upsetting her by leaving the room every time she comes over.”

“Am I not allowed to hang out elsewhere?” Jungkook said nonchalantly. “She’s not my girlfriend, she’s yours. I’m under no obligation to always be around whenever she is.”

This hurt Taehyung for some reason and he needed a moment to recover.

“You’re my best friend,” he told him, then. “And she’s my girlfriend. She gets along with the rest of the guys perfectly but you’re being difficult.”

“I’m not being anything,” Jungkook countered. “And I don’t remember there being a rule that best friends had to get along really well with the other girlfriends.”

“There’s no rule but it would make me happy.”

Jungkook groaned again, forcing Taehyung to sigh.

“Okay. Don’t be friends with Y/n,” he told Jungkook then. “But, please, at least don’t dramatically refuse to be in the same room with her. It’s not cool.”

“Fine.”

“And… you would definitely like her if you got to know her,” Taehyung added with a playful smirk. “She’s really good at Overwatch.”

Jungkook squinted at Taehyung. “You’re just saying that to make me like her.”

“No,” Taehyung shook his head. “I’m saying that as a warning.”

“How is that a warning?”

“When you find out how good she is, you’ll want to date her, too,” Taehyung said. “But back off. She’s mine.”

The boys had a thirty-minute break before their next interview and they were planning to explore Tokyo for a little while before coming back. Jungkook, however, was holed up in his hotel room.

“I’m good,” Jungkook told Jimin who came to ask him to come with the rest of them. “I’m going to skype-chat with Y/n.”

“You skype-chatted her this morning,” Jimin said matter-of-factly. “Does she not have anything better to do but talk to you?”

“She’s free from school today,” Jungkook answered, not raising his head from his phone. “It happens rarely and I’m using this as an opportunity to talk to her.”

“Jungkook, you’re already texting her,” Jimin said, pointing at his phone. “And you can text her while you’re outside, too.”

“Yeah, but I want to see her. And it’s only possible on Skype.”

“But we want to see you, too!” Jimin said, raising his voice and making Jungkook finally look up at him. “Seriously, ever since you started dating her, we haven’t even heard anything from you. The only time we see you is during rehearsals and on stage when we’re performing.”

“And that proves that you see me for the majority of time every day,” Jungkook replied. “So, I don’t get the problem.”

“The problem is that she has you wrapped around her finger and you don’t even see it,” Jimin snapped. “You’re adjusting your schedule to fit hers. You’re taking extra flights to see her and then show up to rehearsals jetlagged and exhausted. It’s not good for your health. Does she care about that? No, it doesn’t look like she does, she just—”

“Stop right there, Jimin,” Jungkook said, locking his phone and putting it away to concentrate on this conversation. “I don’t remember you being part of my relationship. And I sure as hell don’t remember you talking to Y/n and asking her what she cared about.”

“Okay, no need to get all pissed off,” Jimin said, suddenly a little intimidated by Jungkook’s angry and protective tone. “I’m just stating the obvious. You’re obviously sacrificing a lot to be with her and she’s not doing much—”

“Have you thought that maybe the reason why she’s not doing much is because she can’t?” Jungkook was shouting now. “She can’t fly out to see me, because, unlike me, she doesn’t have enough money to fly around the world whenever she wants to. And she can’t hang out with me as often as she wants because she has exams almost every day. On top of that, she gets hate for simply being my girlfriend. So, I’m sorry if you don’t like the fact that I’m trying to make this relationship easier for her.”

Jimin stayed quiet for a moment. “I didn’t think about that.”

“Of course not,” Jungkook huffed, taking a deep breath to calm himself down. “I’m sorry for losing my temper. I just wish you understood how scared I am to lose her. This relationship is hard work, for Y/n especially, and it’s even harder when I’m away. But I would never even think about ending it. I love her too much.”

Jimin nodded, no longer having any other comments to add.

“Okay,” he said. “I see. I’m sorry I said those things. Tell Y/n I said hi.”

Dustin walked by you with a huge grin, “Hey (y/n)!”. He saluted you, and you saluted back matching his grin. You winked, “Good luck tonight soldier”.

By now Steve had parked his car, and was resting against the hood. You walked over to him, “What are you doing here? Hate to break it to ya but you’re a little too old-”.

Steve crossed his arms over his chest, laughing while shaking his head. He smiled, “I gotta keep an eye on the little shits”.

anonymous asked:

We always see Keith freakin out over Shiro, but can we have Shiro freakin out over Keith?

bRO,, DO I HAVE GOOD NEWS FOR YOU!! Shiro is just as protective of Keith I assure you. Shiro, who’s always the one checking in when something’s wrong

Shiro, who will prioritize reassuring Keith even when he himself is dying

How he swoops in immediately when Keith is in danger

And the way Shiro loses his composure when Keith and Allura take off without warning because he’s just so damn worried–demanding that they both head right back to the ship because it’s too dangerous?

Or what about the way Shiro reacts to Keith signing up for a suicide mission, how he grits his teeth and says Keith’s name, closing his eyes and calming down for a moment before he reluctantly agrees. Or how, when Keith’s taking too long, Shiro is the one person whose reaction we focus on, how he stops and quietly says Keith’s name again–“Come on, Keith”–desperately hoping that he makes it

And let’s talk about the BOM, because there’s just so much to talk about. Starting with how losing Keith is something Shiro just can’t bear, how that fear will spark a fire in him. Shiro is protective by nature, and if you hurt someone he cares for, he will lash out. When Shiro yells that the trial is killing Keith, when he’s just ignored–he looks absolutely livid.

And he just fucking says, “I’m calling this off,” and storms off to the exit. And when they block his path? You can bet Shiro fought them because they actually had to restrain him

A lot of people have this idea that Shiro is eternally patient or completely soft, but that’s not the case at all. He cares for others fiercely, and we’ve seen through Matt how Shiro will jump into the arena and scrap tooth and nail for someone else’s sake. That’s just the kind of person he is. So when Shiro is faced with the very real possibility of Keith dying? He’s just as much a force of nature as the Red Lion. He throws away the alliance and the greater good and everything else and defends Keith without a second thought.

The building is falling apart all around them and Shiro is clearly outnumbered, but he still throws himself into a fight on instinct. He’ll take down everyone there if it means saving Keith. And you know, Shiro didn’t have to do that. He could’ve just forced Keith to hand the blade over. But he saw how important it as to him, saw that the Blade wouldn’t let him leave with it–and he fights everyone else on Keith’s behalf without hesitation.

And when Keith tries to call the fight off? When he tells Shiro to stop? He does. Because again, this is about what Keith wants. And whatever he chooses, Shiro will respect his decision–literally freezing midway through a fight

And going back to Shiro’s wrath when it comes to fighting for his loved ones–take a look at when Keith and Hunk took a serious hit from that one robeast and Shiro immediately goes from open concern to determined rage as he heads right into the action. No one hurts his team and gets away with it
