anonymous asked:

can u save the settings for ur coloring and post it pls ??

okay this is a lil tough bc i color my gifs indvidiually and it really depends on the gif so i’ll try to explain roughly how i do it but i suck at explaining so i’m sorry if this turns out terrible lol

okay lol i don’t really know much about sharpening so i just always smart sharpen with these settings

now the coloring. first things first i use this psd. i turned off most the layers so it looks like this lol. honestly there’s so little layers left that it doesn’t make too much of a difference and i should probably just stop using it but lmao *shrug*

everything else i do goes under the psd layer

now i add a levels layer. i like the black in my gif to be strong i guess lol so i’ll drag the black arrow down and the gray arrow up bc i don’t like having a lot of shadows. it usually turns out something like this

(again this really really depends on the gif. i don’t have exact amounts i like to go to, i just go by feel)

sometimes this washes out the gif so i go back and add a selective color layer below the levels layer and darken the white

then this is the part i can’t explain lol: making the gif colorful. i use color balance layer(s) and selective color layer(s) to do this. this depends entirely on what it is i’m gifing and what color i’m aiming for so i unfortunately can’t really explain it?

then afterwards i add an exposure layer to brighten up the gif. i just increase the exposure, i usually don’t touch the other 2. how much i increase it by depends on how dark the gif is, i have no regular number i go up to. i increase it up to anywhere between +0.20 and +0.80 lol

so in the end it turns out something like this

i hope this was somewhat helpful??? i know everything i said was really unspecific and probably not very helpful lol but i since i color each gif individually and things can be different depending on what scene i gif i can’t really provide specific numbers

hey what psd do u use in ur gifs? btw ur blog is gold, i rly love it

hey ,thank you uwu … i usually don’t save psds esp when my colouring is “ natural “.I just play with the colours a bit but in general im trying to use like 3-4 adjustments such as curves , grandient maps , selective colours ,hue or levels
