Fragile (Part 1/2)

Here’s my entry for @kaitymccoy123 ‘s Spring Has Sprung Challenge! (the first half anyways) I’m so sorry i was a little late with this, and i hope you won’t hate me for making it a two parter…

anyways, I had the prompt “Please don’t argue. You have to leave right now, you aren’t safe here.”  (I changed the prompt in the slightest…i’m so sorry…)

and the color white: innocence, fragility, the mug you sip coffee from in the morning, perfection, the moment before a kiss, fear, cleanliness, an untouched snowfall


Characters: Leonard McCoy x Reader

Summary: A perfect storm of problems leaves the Enterprise in danger out in space, and it may be the reader’s fault.  She’s determined to fix it by any means necessary.

A/N: this is part one, set up and some fluffy smut! part two should be out later this week! also i’m sorry this might be absolute crap…i haven’t written in so long i’m trying to get back into the swing of things…

The day had started like any other day for Leonard McCoy; harsh white artificial light and a pillow that smelled like peaches.

The soft smell wakes him every morning.  It isn’t especially pungent or overpowering, but each morning he wakes with your face buried in his neck, your hair just under his nose.  He doesn’t know where you got peach scented shampoo on a starship in the middle of deep space, but as he inhales the smell that’s so uniquely you, he can’t bring himself to care.

Just like every other morning, he wakes before you. And just like every other morning, he stares at the ceiling and runs his fingers through your hair, listened to your soft, gentle breaths.  

Just like every other morning since you started sleeping in his bed, Leonard contemplates just how lucky he is to have you, to call you his.
