i wanted to put a texture on this

This isn’t going to be some huge revelation post but I just want to point out that I’m in love with the texture artists that worked on this scene because creating realistic fluid in 3D that not only moves, but reflects, bubbles, and displaces properly takes an astronomical amount of time and ten years ago this wasn’t possible.

Remember the team behind your favorite things. They worked hard for your enjoyment and put in thousands of hours for something that only takes an hour or two to watch. Go back, watch it again. Look for things. They appreciate it.

I haven’t really openly thanked my followers yet soooo this is dedicated to you guys :) thank you so much for sticking around, and I just want you guys to know I appreciate every single one of you!! I’ve taken the floral textures from that city living dress and put them on some jeans :’) I hope you guys like it!

  • 2 designs on 8 of the natural swatches of the jeans
  • mesh not included → DOWNLOAD HERE

also thank you @lazerlemon for the model Kat!

hello friend i was wondering if you could help me out with something. I saw the space brush thing you had reblogged and I really wanted to try it out so I downloaded it and put it in the right folder and all but for whatever reason none of the new textures i add, including the space one show up at all. Are you able to help me out? I've been searching for solutions for a while and haven't been able to find anything

This has already been resolved, but I’ll throw a checklist here for anyone else having trouble with SAI and brushes:

1. Check if the file is in the brushtex.conf

brushtex\ is the folder, and the filename after that (I’m assuming you know this- but I want to mention it just in case. If the file isn’t in the right folder or a .bmp, it wont work)

If you’re having trouble opening your brushtex.conf, just open notepad (or any text editor) and drag it in. Once you’ve saved you need to restart SAI to get the new brushes.

2. Check the files (Double checking is important!)

Yup, that’s bmp

3. Check both texture boxes:

..I really need to clean mine, I don’t use most of these anymore lol.

That’s all I can think of, if it doesn’t work after this, I have no idea how to fix it xD

Oh, and here’s some other brushes, my personal favourite Acuarelle is in there :D

Augusta Artwork by SaudadeSims

Hey guys! It’s been forever since I got anything finished so I could put it up for download, but I finally got this wall art done! I’m still working on the dining room I posted as a WIP but I got inspired making some standing frames for that set and wanted to make a complete set for the wall. So here we are :)

Things you need to know: The smaller versions of each mesh pull their textures from the largest one in the set. For example, the medium, small, and tiny circles pull from the large circle. Therefore, you need to have the large mesh in game for the smaller versions to work

Each large painting (for lack of a better word) has 12 different art swatches and 3 different frame colors for a total of 36 swatches apiece. Again, the smaller paintings share their textures with the largest ones.

Large, medium, small and, tiny Circles: 334 polys

Large, medium, small, and tiny Ovals : 406 polys

Large, medium, small, and tiny Horizontal Ovals: 406 polys

Large, medium, small, and tiny Squares: 46 polys

Large, medium, small, and tiny Rectangles: 46 polys

Large, medium, small, and tiny Horizontal Rectangles: 46 polys

TOU: Don’t reupload my stuff, please. Don’t put anything of mine behind adf.ly (or the like) or on a paysite. DON’T include my CC in your mods folder that you put up for download (even if it’s to complete a house you are offering for download). Even if you really, really want to. Please don’t.

Please feel free to recolor, but use the selective clone method so that my mesh is required. If you want my psd templates for these paintings, just let me know and I’ll send them to you :).

Credits: To all the creators of the art I used, thank you. None of the pictured art is mine. To the wonderful people over @sims4studioofficial, I don’t know what we’d do without you. I used the recolorable/remeshable S4S paintings as the base for mine. Photoshop, Blender, Maya. And @deelitefulsimmer my constant cheerleader :) <3 you!

Looking up tutorials and texture studies to perfect my craft and observation skills. I’ve been putting these off for a long time but I finally kept my own promise and did it! :D

I really want to launch the Patreon I’ve been putting off since September, next year and make a better portfolio for study and commissions.

Update-ish stuff under the cut:

Low-spoons oatmeal prep

Heat the water in a kettle. I use a stovetop kettle, but an electric one works as well. While the water is heating, put about ¾ C oats in a bowl (I prefer quick oats over instant because they have more texture. Don’t use regular oats because they won’t cook without a constant heat source). Add a generous amount of brown sugar, and raisins, dates, or nuts, to your preference. Once the water is hot, pour just over a cup of hot water into the bowl. Cover with a small plate and ignore for five minutes. After five minutes, take the plate off, stir, and add milk if you want it. Eat. The plate is still clean because you just got steam on it, and you don’t need to wash a kettle between uses; the only dishes you will need to wash are the bowl and spoon.

Lance: I’d recognize that mullet anywere-

Pidge: How though??? I mean I know several dudes with mullets-

Lance: Oh boi I’m glad you asked cause let me tell you about how it’s perfect shoulder length and it does this little curl thing at the very bottom right that never wants to straighten out but that wouldn’t matter anyway because Keith doesn’t do anything with his hair at all besides putting it up in that ponytail occasionally so it typically looks a messtm cause his bed head is atrocious and he never does anything about it beside brush it a little so it frizzs up like an angry cat but one of those cute angry cats that get scared of cucumbers and did I mention that it also bounces at a certain speed compared to other hair since his is so thick and the texture is a bit course but its actually kinda cool cause it moves in a slow motion sorta way with it being so flowey which is crazy since he does n o t h i n g with it but that’s besides the point because it also is hella soft looking and wavy and shines a lot which is surprising since I don’t think he uses any hair products but have I forgotten to tell you about how it’s also a different shade of black??????? because there are definitely different shades of black don’t sass me on this I know my hair and his is more of a midnight black while that other dude Jerry from the corner store on earth was like a gross moldy black and it’s ew but Keith’s is wow but aha wait there’s more have I ever mentioned his bangs because they are also very curly and bouncy and black and they hang in his face and he’s definitely got the edgy black emo hair but it fits him well so no complaining on this end-

Pidge: …..

Pidge: … And… You hate him?

Lance: Oh yeah, definitely, fuck that guy.

Any tips for stimming in public? ps love ur blog :))

Ahh thank you!

Stimming in public: I know that many people are comfortable stimming noticeably in public, and that’s super great and impressive! I’m not that confident about stimming in public, though, so this answer will focus mostly on smaller, more covert stims!

  • Fidgeting with small things (bracelets, binder clips, your hair, etc.), even if they’re unusual looking (like a tangle, a boink fidget, marble maze, etc.)! People don’t seem to question fidgeting a lot, though they might think you’re anxious.
  • Keep good textured things in your pockets to feel!
  • If you want/need to rock, put earphones in! Lots of people rock to classical music and even if you don’t have anything playing they won’t know.
  • Wear tight clothes for the pressure!
  • Rock on your feet, like from heel to toe, or sway from side to side like a washing machine!
  • Chew gum, eat crunchy snacks or Big Flavoured foods like candy!

I can’t think of any more right now, but there are lots of little stims that you can do in public! And remember, people probably aren’t paying as much attention to you and your stimming as you think, so try not to be too worried about it if you know you’re safe!

Here’s my first year of 3D modeling summary!

I added the models which I learned from the most! Excluded animations though! Even though I did not add every single model, I kept some of the bad models too! :D

Sorry for the awkward gray bars on the side of the gid, I had to take the gif with GifCam after putting everything together in Photoshop because Photoshop did not want to cooperate with me!

Hope you enjoy it! Still a lot to learn!

And as always, all the modeling was done with Blender! Texturing with Blender/Quixel!

And… Yes… I baked the wire-frame onto the first few characters D: hahaha!

take as much time as you need to get healthy, carats are always here!

Tutorial Question

Hey everyone! I’m about ready to start doing the colors on something for the website, and wanted to gauge interest on a request real quick!

A while ago I was asked if I could do a tutorial on how I use my watercolor textures/color digitally in general. It would be a free/pay what you want tutorial, of course, but I just wanted to check since it would take a little bit of extra time to put together, and I want to make sure it would be of some use to you all!

Is this of any interest to you? Let me know! Feel free to like, reply, or if you aren’t interested, scroll on by!

This is also a sheet I have made for a journal: I pressed two papers together and after tht this lovely texture appeared … i wanted to do more with it and put more colour on it, but I think it needs to be left in his simplicity…

(((I’m mostly putting this up here because my SAI has trouble saving my brush settings so I have to re-set them every time I re open SAI)))

But anyway here’s a brush that I use for painterly-type stuff. It has a lot of texture and is great for loose paintings. I’ve tweaked it quite a bit since first using it to get it to look how I want, especially with the blender. If you change the settings just a little bit on the blender it changes completely, so you can get a few different effects out of it.

ok last one for today only because i have overloaded you enough….ill do more tomorrow…ha ha

First off thanks goes to Bfly and Maysim Bfly for the mesh and may for converting it to sims 4…

The only credit i take is converting it for Girls and resizing it…i did edit it a tad of maysims to make it not look so egghead like…hers is more higher on the forehead. Seriously we do not need a bunch of eggheads running around in our game…

I started putting the swatches together and i ended up deleting the swatch strip and i said f-it this one wont have swatches…22 Colors in total..

please feel free to recolor or re-texture or edit the meshes again to your liking and uploading..

Click to download <3

My TOU is i have none… it would be nice credit back but hey life is busy and short and if you do not link back to me so be it…i don’t care i just want folks to be happy.
