i want to take you home tonight

Some Things Kent Has Said to the Rookies While Sober: (See Drunk version here)

1. (About his blind date) “He’s a nice guy, but he kissed me and then he left me at the door? What the fuck?” (“Maybe he wants to take it slow?”) “I’m not the fucking Pope, James. I’m horny now.” (“The Pope doesn’t—”) “Maybe I need to flash my ankles some more. I’ll wear booty shorts for the next one.”

2. “I hope everyone here knows that if a—” (shouting) “—hot, tall, single dad in this establishment would like to buy me a drink and take me home tonight, I would literally leave all my friends in a heartbeat—” (turning back to rookies) “—Sorry. I see you guys like everyday.”

3. (On why he isn’t speaking to Jeff) “Jeff convinced me to watched ‘Me Before You’ yesterday. He promised me nobody dies. I cried the entire time when I was trying to order takeout afterwards. And then I cried on the toilet. I’m so fucking pissed. I can’t even look at him right now.”

4. “Dom and I are going to sing ‘I Have Nothing’ for the AcesTV special. I practiced every single fucking night in the shower this past week, and my neighbors filed two complaints against me, so just letting you know to like, get ready to eat my entire ass.”

5. “My favorite things? Kit dressed up in one of those cute bowties they make for cats on Etsy. Mashkov’s ass in nice jeans. Extra guac in my burrito. Finding the love of my life and then realizing that they’re actually a prince or Batman. And winning the Cup every year. I don’t ask for a lot. It’s not a lot.”

+1. “The lighting in the locker room is amazing, what the hell, did they change the bulbs? It makes my abs look fantastic. Someone help me sext my husband, he’s gonna want to see this.” (Smacks rookie’s arm.) “No, not like that. Take the photo from the top-down, do you not know your angles? God.”

I missed you.

happy ambiguous winter holiday month day 5

Based on the prompt: “I missed you”

words: 1298

warnings: uh. none.

The doorbell rang while you were finishing up your makeup. You were supposed to see a play tonight with your best friend. After your breakup with Josh, your friends had been trying their hardest to keep you from moping around at home. You just wanted to sit down and take a break but they didn’t want to take chances just yet.

It had been 2 months since the split and you were doing well with all things considered but they were still insistent on keeping you busy.

“Hold your horses, it isn’t exactly easy getting to the door in heels and you’re early!” you shouted as the bell rang again. You pulled the door open, expecting your friend.

Everyone says that seeing your ex for the first time after a breakup was an emotional experience but you were just mad. The two of you hadn’t split on amicable terms no matter how much you wish you had. He had gotten jealous over the time you spent with other people and accused you of cheating in front of the twenty one pilots crew. You walked out of his apartment for the last time later that day.

“Am I interrupting something?” he asked, his voice quiet. “What are you doing here?” you ask, not paying mind to his question.

“I, uh, brought some of your stuff that you forgot when you, uh, moved out.” he stammered. When you left, you had been in a rush so it wasn’t surprising to hear that you had forgotten things. “There are a couple boxes in my car. I can come back later if right now isn’t a good time.” You paused for a moment before responding.

“I actually have some of your stuff too.” you say. For some reason seeing Josh made your throat feel tight and you felt almost as if you were on the verge of tears. Pulling yourself together, you walked behind him to his car.

Watching as he opened his trunk, you couldn’t help but remember the times you’d spent in his car.

“You take up too much space, babe.” you giggled as Josh wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you closer to him. The two of you were stargazing in the back of his car but no one thought beforehand about how little space there was in his car.

“Maybe taking my car was just a ploy to get you closer to me. Ever think of that? Hm?” he asked, not able to contain his laughter.

“You okay there?” you heard Josh question as you snapped back to reality. You just nodded, not really trusting your voice to not give away your current state of emotion. It took a few trips to get everything out of the back of his car but he was nice enough to help you out.

The two of you stood in the living room once the boxes were inside. It was quiet in the room. Almost as if the two of you didn’t want to acknowledge that you were actually in the same room but didn’t want to make any moves to change it.

“I should probably get going.” He said, after a few awkward moments of quiet.

“Do you want to stay for a little while? Have a cup of coffee?” You asked. Not really thinking about the fact that you were inviting the man who had broken your heart only a few months prior to stick around a little longer for some coffee.

“I-uh. Would that not be weird? I think that would be weird considering the circumstances and all.” he rambled, pushing his hands into his pockets to try to hide the fact that he was fidgety.

“It’s just a cup of coffee.” you assured him. He looked more at ease now for some reason, leaning against your kitchen counter, watching you make coffee like he had at least a hundred times before.

“So. Uh. How have you been?” he asked hesitantly.

“Not really anything has changed. Still hate small talk and love coffee that could pass as candy.” you stated, easing into the idea of him being here as you listened to his melodic laugh that you had missed so much since the split. All you wanted to do was coax it out of him all day.

You handed him his coffee in a mug that he had bought as a joke when the two of you were in Paris together the summer before. You didn’t really linger much on the memory, only thinking about the fact that it was close to the front of the shelf and that he had always favored the cup.

The two of you slipped back into the silence from the living room as you sat on the counter and sipped on your coffee as he did the same.

“So.” you started, hoping he would think of something to say. “So…” he responded. “This is weird isn’t it?”

“Maybe just a tiny bit.” you responded as a small giggle escaped your lips. His smile instinctively widening at the sound.

The two of you thoughtlessly slipped into conversation. Words flowing and smiles dominating your faces as you slipped back into old ways, not noticing that the two of you were gradually getting closer to each other, initiating contact, and catching up as if nothing had ever happened.

“And then Tyler walked in and Jenna smashed the pie in his face.” you were almost in tears from giggling at the stories that Josh had accumulated over the last few months.

“I’ve missed you.” he sighed as your shared laughter subsided.

“I’ve missed you too.” you say, your breath shaky from laughter and the realization of how physically close the two of you have become.

The next few moments feel like a blur as Josh’s lips come into contact with yours again after so long without it. His kiss is soft and delicate, as if he is afraid that kissing you too hard might shatter this moment into a million indistinguishable pieces.

At first you’re shocked but it doesn’t take you long to wrap your arms around his neck and tangle your fingers in his hair like you used to. Everything feeling so familiar as his arms coil around your waist.

As it dawns on you, the levity of making out with your ex when he was just trying to return your things, you pull away slowly, a soft giggle escaping your lips. “Joshua, what are we doing?” you ask. Not quite sure if you want to hear the answer.

“Hopefully something we won’t regret.” he smiles as he presses his mouth back to yours. You melt into his embrace, trying to forget that the two of you were not together anymore and that your friend would kill you if she were to know what shenanigans were taking place in your kitchen right now.

“[y/f/n]’s gonna kill me” you mumble to Josh between kisses. He hummed a soft “mhm” in response, obviously not really listening to what you were saying, just wanting to get on with the activity at hand as he shifted from sitting on the counter to standing on the kitchen floor, his hips between your legs that still rested on the counter top.

You were too preoccupied to hear the front door open when your friend arrived and Josh didn’t seem to hear it either. Until she walked in the room.

“Ahem.” causing you to jump and pull away from Josh as he spun around to see who was in the kitchen.

“Are you two fucking serious?” she raised her voice. Obviously angry with the lack of self control. Or maybe angry that you were probably not going to the play that the two of you were supposed to see tonight.

library samba.

I did not want to meditate when I got back from the library tonight.

I’ve been studying some very tedious and quite dense material. It takes a lot of time and energy to maintain attention for such things. So when I get home, the last thing I want to do is sit and do nothing.

I want to watch TV, cook dinner, browse the internet, talk to friends, and so on. Restlessness seeks peace in activity.

However, I happen to know a secret: The meditations you want to avoid are always the best opportunities.

And so I sat. And it was good.

The end.

“Is that my shirt?” Spencer Reid

Spencer had been working on a case with the team, so it was normal for him to be gone for a week at a time. You sat on the couch in one of his t-shirts, flipping through the TV channels, interrupted by the door bell. You put down and make your way to the door. Opening the door, you see Spence standing there. “You never told me you were on your way home!” You said wrapping your arms around his neck. “I wanted to surprise you,” He began to say, looking at what you had on. “Is that my shirt?” Your cheeks turn a light shade of pink. “Maybe.” He smiles, and places his bag down on the floor. You take his hand and lead him to the couch, sharing the blanket. “So what are we watching tonight?” Spencer asks you. You always picked out what to watch. “The Office?” You asked, looking up at him. God, he was perfect. He nodded, gently kissing your forehead.

Jack’s favorite thing about this restaurant is that they can kiss here. Not make out like desperate teenagers showing off at the mall. Just–Jack is eating his plum crostata and Bitty is enjoying his flourless chocolate cake. He can look up, lean across the table, and kiss his boyfriend.

A kiss like that isn’t a boast or a claim. It’s a promise, soft and sure: we’ll go home tonight together.

Auston Matthews - I Missed You

“You’re here!” I exclaimed as I picked up my girlfriend Y/N from the airport in Toronto. We had been long distance dating the entire season, and she was finally able to take a break from school and come visit me.

“I’m so happy to see you, babe. I’ve missed you so much!” She said as I hugged her tightly and spun her around.

“I know, it’s been so tough not having you here.” I told her as I loaded her suitcase into the back of my car. “I don’t have anything planned for tonight… do you want to go out somewhere or do you want to just stay in and hang out?” I asked.

“Would you be mad if I wanted to just stay home and chill with you tonight? I’m exhausted after a day of flying.” She said.

“I was hoping you’d say that. I miss our chill nights together.” I kissed her on the cheek and opened the car door for her.

“I’ll order some pizza. Make yourself at home. I even emptied half of my closet for you to put your things in.” I told her as I googled the number for the pizza delivery place.

“Aww. That was sweet, babe. You know me too well. I definitely over packed.” She said as she dragged her suitcase into my room.

“I knew you would!” I called after her.

I ordered the pizza and she walked out of my room a few minutes later, wearing just my t-shirt. It was way too big on her. Her hair was a mess and she had taken her makeup off completely. The way I liked her best. She looked stunning.

“So let me get this straight, you over packed enough to need half of my closet but didn’t pack anything to wear to bed?” I asked as I wrapped my hands around her waist and kissed her.

“Maybe I just missed stealing your clothes.” She said as she pecked my lips again.

“Maybe I missed seeing you in my clothes. You look sexy.” I told her. She giggled and kissed me again.

Our kisses were interrupted by the door bell. “We’ll finish this later.” She said, shooting me a seductive smile and pushing me towards the door. “I’m hungry.” She added.

“Me too.” I told her as I opened the door. I paid the delivery man and set the pizza down on the counter.

“I want to know every single detail that has happened since you’ve been here.” She told me as we sat down at the table.

“And I want to know every single detail of college back home. You first.” I offered.

“Well babe you know most of it because we talk most seconds of most days.” She said with a smile. “And I love that. I just wish I got to see you more.”

“I know. It’ll be easier when you graduate and we can just live together here… or whatever city I’m in.” I said.

“Well you know I’ll be graduating a year early and I’m hoping to do a few online semesters so I can come stay with you.” She said.

“I would love that, babe. But I don’t want you to be rushing through your college years just for me. As much as I want you here, you deserve to enjoy yourself.” I told her. As hard as it was to say that, it was the absolute truth. I tried so hard not to be selfish, but I was. I wanted her with me every second of every day. I was absolutely addicted to her.

“I’m happiest when I’m with you.” She said, narrowing her eyes and walking over to me.

“So, are the Toronto girls all over you?” She asked as she sat down on my lap, wrapping her hands around my neck.

“I’m not going to lie, they try pretty hard. But none of them compare to you at all. You have nothing to worry about.” I said, kissing her gently.

“Oh, I know. I check social media and see who those girls are. Some of them make me want to hug my mom and thank her for raising me with morals.” She said with a laugh.

“Couch?” I asked. She nodded, and I picked her up and carried her to the couch.

She rested her head on my lap and spread her legs across the couch. She fell asleep as we watched Netflix and my hands ran through her hair.

“I love you so much. I’m glad you’re here.” I whispered to her as I picked her up and carried her to the bed.

“I love you.” She whispered back.

Make the First Move

“Where do you want to go tonight?” Your best friend Rose asked you as she checked herself out in the mirror.

“I don’t care as long as there’s alcohol involved.” You say, throwing some bracelets on your wrist and doing a little dance in the mirror. School was stressful like always and your home life was more stressful than usual lately, so you were looking forward to a night out on the town.

“Well… I heard Isaiah’s gonna be at the Garrison.” She says, making googley eyes at you.

“So?” You ask, ignoring the immediate butterflies taking flight in your stomach.

“So…do you want to go there or not?” She said.

“If that’s where you want to go.” You said, biting your lip in hopes that she’d say yes. And how could she call herself your best friend if she didn’t realize that you and Isaiah were caught in this kind of limbo where you two flirted constantly, and it was obvious that you liked each other, but that was just it; it never went any farther. She wasn’t the only one who took notice either, practically everyone in Birmingham knew it.

“Yes, it’s where I want to go Y/N, so we’re going.” She gave it, rolling her eyes as she hurried you out of the house.

Nightmarish revelations

WARNING: mentions abuse and possibly some other triggers

Y/n hurried into the classroom and sat down next to her friend Damian. She had started coming in late a lot more, due to oversleeping. It wasn’t her fault that she had to juggle advanced classes, clubs, sports, her volunteer job at the shelter, and her *ahem* night job.

“Slept in again, didn’t you?” Damian said as she slid into her seat. She nodded and pulled her notes out.

“Father doesn’t make me go on patrol during school nights. Maybe you should stay home and rest tonight.” He suggested. Y/n glared at him.

“It’s bad enough that you don’t want me to be working with you in the first place, now you’re trying to get me to take time off. Not happening, Dami!”

“It’s not that I don’t want to be working with you, it’s just that it’s hard making sure you’re always paired up with someone. You haven’t been doing this job for a long time and you need backup. My brothers can’t always be there when I’m not.” He said. Ever since y/n had started trading to become a vigilante, Damian had made her follow one rule. Never go on patrol by yourself. It wasn’t that he thought she was incapable of handling it. Hell, in a fair fight she could have him down in ten minutes. He just didn’t want her getting hurt.

“Simple solution. Let me do this alone. I’ll patrol with you on weekends but during school days I’ll do it alone.” Y/n demanded. Damian sighed.

“You’re not-”

“Not ready? That seems to be the only excuse you can come up with. I’ve been training for two years Damian. B usually lets you birdbrains work by yourselves after nine weeks. Is it different because I’m a girl? Or do you really think I’m that bad at my job?” Y/n said. She was boiling in rage. Some of her hair had fallen out of its place and Damian could see the bluish tint of a bruise.

“What happened? You have a bruise there.” He said, his voice surprisingly gentle. Y/n flinched away when he reached out to touch it.

“It’s nothing. Some bastard got a lucky swing.”

“You weren’t supposed to be out last night. You went out on patrol by yourself! Y/n, this is the fifth time this week. You need to stop doing this. It’s hurting you, can’t you see!” Damian whisper-shouted.

“So what? I’ve lost count of all the times I’ve had to patch you to keep you from bleeding out. It’s one bruise and I’ll never let anyone get that far in a fight again! Okay?”

“You’re coming over to my house right after school so I can talk some sense into you without anyone hearing. I don’t care about whatever excuses you come up with, you’re not getting off the hook this time.”

Damian couldn’t believe it. Y/n had fallen asleep in the timespan of two minutes. He had left the room to go get something for y/n to snack on before he read her the riot act, and he came back to find her fast asleep on his bed.

She looked pretty cute though… With her h/c strands framing her face, how she looked so peaceful. Damian just couldn’t ruin it by waking her up. Besides the girl had barely been getting any sleep lately. Now was a good a time as any.

A few minutes later, soft whimpers stole his attention from the homework he had started. He looked over at y/n and saw that she had a frown on her face and that she was thrashing about, as if someone was struggling with her. She’s having a nightmare, Damian thought.

He went to wake her up when he realized she was saying something. “D-dad don’t.. Don’t hurt m-me please.” She cried out. Damian froze, his hand right above her shoulder. Tears started to stream from y/n’s closed eyes. It soon turned into sobs that shook Y/n’s curled up body. He knew that he had to wake her up now.

“y/n.. Y/n come on, wake up please!” Damian said as he shook her harder than he should’ve. Y/n screamed and started clawing at his hands as her eyes opened, trying to break his grip on her. He let go of her shoulders and grabbed her wrists before she could hurt him or herself.

“NO! Let me go! Please!” She pleaded as she twisted away from him. He tightened his grip on her. “Y/n, it’s me. It’s Damian, you’re safe. She stopped fighting him but she was still sobbing. Damian let go of her wrists and put his arms around her. Y/n cried into his shoulder.

“I-I’m sorry. I never meant to-”

“Hey shhhhh, it’s okay. I’ve got you. You’re safe now.” Damian whispered as she sobbed. He rubbed small circles on her back to calm her down. He pulled back but kept her at arms length.

“Y/n, is your father hurting you?” Damian asked softly after y/n quieted down a little. She shook her head violently as she refused to look at him. He gently grabbed her chin and made her turn towards him. Her e/c eyes were filled with tears and he wiped away the ones that had already made their way down her cheek.

“Don’t try to lie to me. I’ll find out one way or another. It’s faster to just get to the point.” Damian told her. She hiccuped and ran her hands through her h/c locks.

“It’s all my fault. Dad is just disciplining me. It was all my fault, you see. He had caught me sneaking in late the other night after patrol. I had been smart enough to get out of my uniform before going home but he thought I had snuck out to a party. He yelled at me, and then he just snapped. He slapped me and the ring he wears bruised me. That was the first time and it’s been getting worse.“

“Y/n, why didn’t you tell me? I could’ve helped.”

“You were too distracted by all the cases we’ve been working on, so I did what we always tell kids that get beaten by their parents. I called the police and you know what the officer said? A single slap is only disciplinary, they deal with bigger problems than a brat whining about how mean their parents are. Then he called my dad and told him not to let me call the cops anymore unless it’s an emergency. That night dad beat me with the belt…”

“Damian’s eyes watered as he looked at the smaller girl. He pulled her against his chest and held her tightly. She gripped his shirt like it was her lifeline. "I promise, I won’t let him harm you ever again. Y/n, I’m so sorry that I didn’t know sooner. I could’ve stopped it.”

“Dami, you can’t promise that he won’t hurt me again. I still have to go back and I didn’t tell him I was over here, so you know what that means… Oh god, it’s seven o'clock! I was supposed to be home by six!” Y/n said. She grabbed her things and ran out of Damian’s room but not before he grabbed her wrist.

“Don’t go! Y/n, I don’t want you to get hurt.” He shouted. She broke his hold and was running out the door before he could stop her. He wanted to go after her, but Damian knew he could help y/n another way. He walked to his father’s office and rapped on the door.

“What?” Bruce said as he looked up from his papers.

“Father, we need to talk about Y/n…” A/n: So how was it? I’m thinking about writing part 2 even though all my part 2s suck. Leave a like and thanks for reading:)

lately we go for walks and I can’t stop remembering things, it smells like honeysuckle blooming again and homesickness is an ache so deep inside me I feel it when the spring wind comes in big gusts, in the evenings we would go on walks down the holler, us kids would ride our bikes, you could smell the frog eggs, we’d come home and eat ice cream cold in the bowls, we’d stir it all together until it was ice cream soup, and have a contest for who’s looked the best. tonight I saw two women holding hands, a lightning bug, it smelled like dirt, the old skin peels off my feet and I’m raw again, I keep the windows open wide and when we walk I take your hand. I don’t want to forget anything

Falling for the Lunatic - Dean Ambrose Fanfic - Part 9

Part 8 and Finale - @ambrose-asylum-ft-mitch, @actualamyautopsy, @awesome-ambrose-world, @fearlessambrose

I hopped out of the car and took a big breath in and smiled. “Ahh! I’m so happy to be back home!” I cheered jumping up and down like a little kid who was just handed a piece of candy. Tonight was RAW in New Orleans and I couldn’t be anymore happier to be back in my hometown. Even though Smackdown was an hour away in Baton Rogue, Dean insisted that he take me out downtown.

“You’re a little too excited there.” Dean laughed at me.

“Of course I am. You can take the girl out of Louisiana but you can’t take Louisiana out of the girl! So what do you want to do?”

“I actually don’t know anything down here beside Bourdon Street.” He shrugged his shoulders.

“Hold up, you mean to tell me with the hundred of shows y’all do down here, you’ve only been to Bourdon Street?!” I semi yelled at him and he just nodded his head. “Oh no no no no. You’re gonna live tonight Ambrose!” I grabbed his hand and dragged him down the street.

“Where are we going?” He asked as he chuckled.

“We are going to do my favorite thing when I’m down here.”

It wasn’t a long walk until we ended up at the little cafe down in the French Quarter. “Welcome to Cafe du Monde.” I said smiling up at Dean.

“Whoa. This place is packed!”

“It usually is. It’s like the go to place when you’re down here. Come on, we got to get some beignets in your tummy.” I patted Dean’s stomach as I pulled him in line to place our order.

“Good afternoon m’am. What can I get you tonight?” A sweet young man who had powder all over his apron asked.

“I’ll just have a small bag of beignets and 2 small hot chocolates, all to go please.”

“Okay, that will be $8.42 please.”

Me and Dean pulled our wallets out at the same time but I pushed Dean back and said, “No, my city so I’m paying.” I quickly gave the cashier my money before Dean could stretch his long hands over mine. The cashier laughed at us and gave me the receipt. It was barely two minutes before they called out my name and handed me a bag and two drinks. I made sure to grab as many napkins as I could before heading back to Dean who was looking for a place to sit.

“Oh no, we aren’t going to sit here. Come on, I’ll show you my favorite spot.” I said as I handed Dean his cup. He laced his fingers in mine and I led him up and down a few stairs. After we crossed the railroad, we ended up on the side of the water. I led him down a few steps that led straight into the river and looked over the bridge. You could see the moon light up the water as the bridges lights reflected off the river.

“Here it is. Come on!” I said down on a step and took a sip of my drink as I felt Dean’s sit behind me and bring him legs around me. I leaned back and laid my head on his shoulder and smiled as he wrapped one of his arms around my waist.

“Thank you for taking me here. It is really pretty.” He whispered.

“And thank you, ya know, for like everything.” I said playing with his fingers.

“Whatcha mean?”

“You know. Like everything you’ve done for me at work, and during all that drama with Renee and Seth, and just like sticking by me in general.”

When I looked up at him, he was smiling. He softly kissed my head and said, “I love you so much (Y/N).”

“I love you too Dean. But let’s eat these before they go stiff.” I grabbed the bag and dusted off a beignets and handed it to him. “Make sure to use the napkin, the powder gets everywhere.” Dean took a bite and I bursted in laughter.

“What?” He asked as he furrowed his brows together.

“You have powder all over your beard.” I giggled as I wiped the powder off. I smiled as I pulled his lips down to mine. He kissed me back and smiled into it.

We stayed how we were until we finished our food and headed back to the car for our drive to Baton Rogue for Smackdown the next day. As Dean focused on the road humming whatever song was playing, I was looking over at him, smiling to myself. I was in love and I couldn’t be any happier.

Mirrors (part 1)

MC flitted around the kitchen preparing dinner before Zen came home from using the apartment’s private workout area. It didn’t have a shower, so he would come in and go straight to the shower. Usually she joined him for workouts, but she wanted to take more time making tonight’s dinner.
It had been a year since she had moved in with him, and she still vividly remembered the horror she felt when she first discovered just how awful his eating habits were.

“I thought you were kidding when you said all you did was drink, smoke, and work out!” she had exclaimed, examining his scarcely furnished refrigerator. He had laughed in embarrassment then, a slight pink blush spreading across his face.

“Well…I did warn you.” he offered, and she had just sighed and dragged him to the grocery store that next day.

Back in the present, she smiled at the memory. Things had went well since she moved in, or rather since Zen had moved her in. Sure they’d had a couple fights, but nothing serious.
Suddenly an arm snaked around her waist and a hand laid itself on her hip; she froze in terror while her mind instantly raced to thoughts of that white haired stranger.

“What’s making you smile like that?” a familiar voice whispered huskily in her ear. She relaxed and leaned her head back to rest it on Zen’s shoulder. He nuzzled his face into her neck and peppered it with kissed.
She laughed and pulled away, wrinkling her nose in mock disgust. “You sir, need a shower.“

He laughed as well and bent down to plant a swift kiss on her lips before disappearing down the hall. Soon after she heard the shower running. She almost thought about turning on the sink and making the shower’s water go cold, but she’s save the prank for another day.

She had finished cooking and had begun setting out the plates when Zen emerged from the shower. His hair was still damp and loose about his shoulders, towel wrapped around his waist, water glistening on his abs. She smiled, giving him and obvious look over. His returning smile was a knowing one, and with a suggestive hip wiggle, he disappeared back down the hall to the bedroom.

By the time Zen reemerged, she had finished setting the table and was washing up a few dishes, her hands buried deep in the water.
Zen came up behind her, resting his hands on her waist and kissing her on the back of her neck.

"H-hey!” MC exclaimed turning her head to look at him “That’s cheating!”
“All’s fair in love and war.” he chuckled, trailing kisses along her neck to her shoulder. He lightly grazed his teeth over her soft skin and he heard her suck in a sharp breath.

“Zen…” she muttered embarrassed. It wasn’t as if they had been intimate before, but she always felt shy around him. He assured her her body looked perfect to him, that it was HER that he had fell for in the chatroom, not her looks, though he admitted it was a bonus she was so cute.

“A body that matches your beautiful personality, princess.” he had told her.

He continued to tease her, until she whirled around, red faced, and smacked him with a soapy hand.
“Behave yourself!” she exclaimed before rinsing off the soap and brushing past him towards the dining room. He gave her a wolfish grin, and followed behind her, watching her glance behind and blush again.

(tw f slur/queerphobia) My life was threatened today because I’m ace.

I’m still shaking, I don’t even know what I want to say here.  I was threatened by another driver on my commute home from work tonight.

Shortly after getting on the freeway, I signaled to change lanes for the third time to get into the lane I normally take most of the way home.  A reckless driver behind me also wanted to change lanes, but wasn’t signaling and attempted to speed up during the lane change.  So I was already changing lanes after I had checked the lane I was changing into, so by the time I was half-way over the guy trying to cut me off from behind(I guess?) had to slam on his breaks, cause surprise, you do reckless shit, you can end up with this kind of situation because the rest of the drivers on the road aren’t bowing to your selfish whims.

So this guy was super-pissed at me, for following the law, I guess.  And now he’s directly behind me blaring his horn at me.  I was like, “Whatevs, he’ll get over it and life will continue on.”  Nooooope.  He kept blaring his horn at me for like a whole minute, and then he had an opening to peel back to the lane on the right and speed up so he could scream at me.  He was hanging out of his window flipping me off and I had my windows up and music playing pretending I was ignoring him, but then I heard it, he was yelling “FAGGOT!” over and over again.  The only thing he could have gotten that from was the ace-colored rainbow sticker on the back of my car since my husband wasn’t with me.

I was fucking terrified once I realized queerbashing was possible on top of this road rage.  I had to just focus on the road in front of me and hope he didn’t do anything else.  Luckily, there were more openings in traffic and he weaved in-and-out of traffic until I lost track of him.  But when I was closer to home I was making sure he didn’t just give the appearance of driving off and that he wasn’t following me.  I couldn’t even make it home before I broke down and was sobbing.

I’ve only felt something similar to this once before.  I was with a few other cis gay men, but I didn’t feel so utterly terrified.  It was scary, for sure, but I didn’t feel vulnerable as part of a group.  This was so much worse.  I was by myself.  If he had chased me off the road, I could be dead.  This is surreal.  Like, don’t get me wrong, I don’t think he threatened me because I’m ace, specifically/solely/whatever.  I think he threatened me because straight people don’t fucking care what our identity is as long as it’s not fucking Straight™.
