i want an entire film of this

anonymous asked:

i kind of see Shin Godzilla as a primal and carnal being, meaning that it just wants to survive, i believe that he firstly came to the city because he needed to adapt and walked around because (IMO) he desired to know what is the world outside of the ocean is like; he was curious. like any real animal it wants to live without trouble right? if SG won in the film and returned to the ocean, would he destroy other cities to "make sure" he doesn't die? or would be peaceful?

I think the entire drive of Shin Godzilla was to explore and evolve. When he met resistance, he evolved to overcome it. I think conflict with humanity is inevitable.

Outside of marvel what movie can't you look forward to see this year?

I’m p sure u want me to list films I’m hype for, not films i don’t care about so here u go

Okay before I stop talking about Marvel i gotta mention Logan bc I am so hyped for this movie i love Wolverine and I love Hugh Jackman as Wolverine so yh, Logan. Hyped. Anyway, here u go in release order with the exception of I’m Not Here, We Have Always Lived in the Castle and The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara bc who knows when:

  • I’m Not Here
  • We Have Always Lived in the Castle
  • The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara
  • Live by Night
  • T2 Trainspotting
  • Youth in Oregon
  • Fist Fight
  • Beauty and the Beast
  • The Sense of an Ending
  • Going in Style
  • Wonder
  • Sleight
  • Gifted
  • The Circle
  • Everything, Everything
  • The Book of Henry
  • The House
  • My Cousin Rachel
  • Dunkirk
  • Girl Trip
  • The Dark Tower (to be fair this is mostly just bc Idris Elba is in it but it’s going on the list anyway)
  • The Coldest City
  • Untitled Detroit Project (okay so it doesn’t have a name yet but it’s got my boys John Boyega and Anthony Mackie and it’s about the 1967 Detroit riots so catch me throwing my cash right at this movie)
  • Baby Driver
  • The Hitman’s Bodyguard
  • Kingsman: The Golden Circle
  • Logan Lucky (let us not pretend this is for any reason other than Sebastian Stan bc quite frankly nothing about the rest of this film is interesting to me)
  • The Mountain Between Us
  • Coco
  • Ferdinand

i’ll tell you what major aesthetic problem i DO have with frozen though

not in a concerned mom way of it being ‘too revealing’ or whatever, but it just sticks out like a sore thumb in contrast to the other costume design?? i get the point that elsa wants to be free and ‘different’ but still, having more incorporation of the entire hostoric norway aesthetic would go a long way imo. i really love the design of elsa’s coronation dress. its got the folk motifs and everything going

but then i remember being so upset having to see her wearing….that thing for the majority of the film. even concepts like this still feel like they ‘belong’ in the universe and is more harmonious with the rest of the set

and this is only a mild critique, im not even talking about all the visual creativity that was lost in the early concept art….

Okay but why don’t more people like Atlantis?! like

the main character is a dude that’s brave and amazing but isn’t typically masculine

Want to know how I can already tell the Netflix Series of Unfortunate Events is going to be lightyears better than the 2004 movie??

2004 movie:

Netflix series:

This is not just a nit-picking detail… this is crucial to the entire series. For the 2004 movie to throw this detail out showed me that they did not care to read past the fourth or fifth book, which they had no excuse not to do; by the time the film was made, the eleventh book had just been released. Now, I enjoyed the 2004 movie, it had a lot of wonderful things going for it, wonderful casting, perfect cinematography and tone and soundtrack, but it was not the books. I am so glad that it looks like we will finally get the chance to see a proper adaptation of the books on screen. :D

at the end of the final fantastic beasts film when they’re just about to face down grindlederp i want colin farrell to swing into the frame from nowhere and just dropkick him into the fuckin ground. no explanation. he hasn’t been seen in the entire film until now. ‘what,’ he says, ‘you expect me to just let that slide? please.’

The Key To Understanding S4 of Sherlock is to Accept Mary as She Is…

I’ve seen a lot of people who say S4 doesn’t make sense to them. We’ve got a variety of theories trying to make the story fit some different storyline than what is being shown on screen.

I know some of that is fueled by inconsistencies in filming—possible continuity errors, changes in wording, things they find unrealistic. But it seems that one of the core issues for a lot of people is Mary.

I can understand that. Why was she even brought into the story in the first place? Some adaptations skip her entirely. People wanted to keep the focus of the story on John and Sherlock. They didn’t want a trio.

Those are perfectly fair objections. And I don’t blame people for being upset about the fact that she turned out to be an assassin and that she shot Sherlock, etc. I thought that some of the Mary-as-villain theories were really interesting and would have been fun in the story.

But that’s not where the writers took things, and now some fans are having a hard time accepting that Mary could be all those things and still be loved by John and Sherlock.

Yes, loved. The reaction to her death, if nothing else, makes it clear that both men loved her very much. They grieve her, deeply. Her memory becomes John’s inner voice, his conscience.

How can that be? How can the show portray her as kind, sweet, funny, insightful, and yet also portray her as selfish, ruthless, secretive, and a killer?

Well, it’s called an antihero. And it’s something few female characters are allowed to be.

More below the cut…

Happy 20th anniversary Romeo + Juliet (1996)

“Next Tuesday, November 1st is the twentieth anniversary of me second film Romeo + Juliet. It was an extraordinary creative journey, the likes of which I’m sure the cast, crew and close collaborators will never quite experience again. Many doubted the preposterous ambition of setting Shakespeare’s beloved tragic romance in a heighted creative world, with a then relatively unknown Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes, but we did make it, overcoming incredible odds shooting entirely in Mexico. Over the next 7 days, the team and I are going to go through our unpublished archives and as a celebration of time passing, release previously unseen items leading up to R+J’s 20th birthday. Think of it as a big shoutout to Shakespeare himself, whose 400th anniversary is this year.

P.S: If you had anything to do with the making of the film, or are simply, just a fan and want to share, don’t hold back. Though I’m still getting down with ‘The Get Down’, the team and I so much enjoy looking at everything.”

Thanks BigHit

Right now I’m feeling really appreciative toward BigHit. Although they may milk us for money and be relentless when it comes to concert security, they more than make up for it in the creative freedom they give their artists. And this comes from before Bangtan.

Jo Kwon was allowed to be a diva and wear studded high heels on his performance of Animal. GLAM have performed songs blatantly about bisexuality, gay pride, and hating your body. And now Bangtan is able to criticize society as much as they want, from School of Tears and Shut up and Vote to N.O. and Am I Wrong. Bangtan is allowed to base their entire promotional/story-telling short film series on a German book most fans had never even heard of before! They are allowed to release songs where they sing about mental disorders and self-love! They are allowed to self-write, compose, and produce! To gift songs to fans for free! To write about more than just love! They’re even allowed to criticize their own company and bosses!

And clearly, this endeavor has more than paid off. BigHit is doing right by letting their artists be genuine. By letting them be real, honest, flawed, and human, BigHit is allowing fans to feel more connected to the message of the songs, and form a more personal and meaningful bond with the artists. And this is what I love about them.

It seems Kubo-sensei found out about the upcoming Hallmark film, “Love on Ice” that many YOI fans have noticed a startling similarity to.

Kubo’s comments on “Love on Ice” are that *she thinks that the two works are entirely different* and that she knows how hard it is to make a story about figure skating, so she wants to show support.

(Very rough translation as I am not a fluent Japanese speaker/reader. Just thought I’d share.)

  • Me: Wow what a classically beautiful person.
  • Brain: Uh-oh...
  • Me: No it's fine, they're not my type. Ha. I can appreciate a beautiful person without having to watch their entire back catalogue of work y'know.
  • Brain: You don't have time for this!
  • Me: Relax, it's just one film.
  • Brain: It's one film now, but then there's the three hours of Google Image Searches afterwards!
  • Me: Nonsense! I just want to make sure I'm immune.
  • Brain: Oh boy...
  • Me: It's fine. I can look at them and feel nothing.
  • Brain: ???
  • Me: I feel nothing.
  • Brain: Why have you spent 45 minutes looking at their pictures?
  • Me: I feel nothing.
  • Brain: You're imagining lazy Sunday morning cuddles with you as the little spoon! This is it. You're gone.
  • Me: I feel nothing. Maybe I am incapable of love now.
  • Brain: *eyeroll* Batten down the hatches, lads, she's gonna go - in three... two... one...
  • Me: Shit!
  • Brain: Here we go!
  • Me: They really are beautiful! Like oh my god look at them it's like they were carved by angels!!! Oh no no no no no!!! Not this! This can't be happening! Oh no! I thought I was immune! Why you play me this way, Brain?! WHY DIDN'T YOU STOP ME BEFORE IT WAS TOO LATE?!?!?
  • Brain: *facepalm*

Some little Tina Goldstein things in FBAWTFT

I know I already made a post (and then some) about why I love Tina (x) but I wanted to make another one now that I’ve seen the film nine times.

  • The fact her full first name is “Porpentina” is reason alone to love her
  • I know a lot of people say this, but…she’s eating a hot-dog whilst spying on people, like, she’s so adorable!
  • She’s interrupted TWICE whilst trying to eat her hot-dog, like let her eat in peace!
  • Tina basically walked around with mustard on her upper lip for the entire bank sequence
  • “Why in the name of Deliverance Dane did you let that thing loose?”/“Mercy Lewis, what is that?!” - she says such adorable things though??
  • She wears a silver tracking/identity bracelet from MACUSA so that they can keep an eye on her (it’s in several FBAWTFT Making Of books, and you can see it in several scenes)
  • Tina hiding under her desk when Abernathy comes looking for her
  • That bit where she jumps/hops on the spot to try and find Newt in the crowd
  • Tina hurriedly grabbing her undergarments/slips from the clothes-horse by the fire so that the men don’t see them (someone else pointed this out as well)
  • When Queenie is prepping dinner and they talk, she dips her finger in one of the pots and proceeds to lick/try whatever it was - like I think that’s really cute?
  • She makes these two men - who she barely knows - hot cocoa and then proceeds to awkwardly stand in the doorway with the mugs as she says “I…uh…thought you might like a hot drink…?”
  • I still think it’s funny how forcefully she puts Newt’s mug down on the table, like she’s so pissed off.
  • She wears her pyjama top under her jacket whilst tracking down Newt and Jacob, then proceeds to walk into a big meeting still in her pyjama shirt
  • Tina sobbing when she and Newt were sentenced to death, like, SHE DIDN’T DO ANYTHING TO DESERVE THIS (neither did Newt, but still)
  • In the death potion we see her gently comforting Credence, hesitantly touching his arm and telling him it will be okay.
  • “What is that thing?” “Swooping Evil.” “Well I love it!” (OTP right there!)
  • Tina looking like she’s about to cry when she’s telling Newt about how Mary Lou Barebone abuses Credence and the other children in her care - I think that’s the moment Newt looks at her and thinks “I understand exactly, this is how I feel about my creatures”. He would totally break laws and stop people who hurt magical creatures (or any creatures, for that matter)
  • Tina smiling in awe when she sees Dougal feeding the Occamy a sweet is honestly so beautiful.
  • Her bad-ass jumping skills during the Occamy scene - enough said
  • Her looking around in awe when she’s first in the case honestly makes me emotional because she’s having a revelation - and because this is her future when she marries Newt. Seeing her look at the creatures in tender wonderment is so touching.
  • Before she found out Grindelwald was disguised as Graves, she duelled him - first of all, she probably thought she was duelling her mentor, her boss, someone who she once looked up to; secondly, the two of them were locked in a stalemate before he threw a car at her
  • Let that sink in - Tina Goldstein held her own against Gellert Grindelwald, one of the most dangerous and proficient wizards/duellists of the time. She held her own against him until he levitated a car to hit her - she did better than the rest of the Auror team put together.
  • Tina doing a tuck-and-roll under a semi-cast Protego shield like a boss
  • “Keep talking, Tina. Keep talking, he’s listening to you!” (Newt about Credence)
  • Tina looking heartbroken when Credence is “killed”, like she feels like she failed to protect him
  • Newt and Tina were both crying as Jacob and Queenie said goodbye - Tina’s heart was definitely breaking for her little sister
  • Tina looks so sad when she asks about Leta - she probably thinks Leta is Newt’s girlfriend/fiancée/wife back home.
  • The hope in her eyes when Newt says “I don’t know what Leta likes these days” and, "People change…I’ve changed" is so beautiful.
  • She’s trying not to cry - and failing at that - as Newt leaves.
  • Her teary smile when he says “how would you feel if I gave you your copy in person?”
  • Her little gleeful skip as she leaves the docs after saying goodbye to Newt is adorable :3

why am seeing posts hating on jlaw saying “don’t riot” and then comparing that to the fact that she played katniss in the hunger games??

she’s right??? rioting isn’t going to do anything??? all rioting is going to do is make white men think that black/lgbtq/minority people are thugs who do illegal things when theyre angry??? and that is NOT the impression you wanna give????

and before any of you try to stay that “in the hunger games” blah blah lemme tell you that there were only a two riots (in the films) that happened before war was declared

district 11 in katniss’s first games which the civilians did not win which led to tighter rescritions and district 11 becoming a shitty place where people are shot for whistling

and district 12, which eventually led to the entire district being bombed

katniss even told gale she didn’t want people to fight in riots

am i missing something here

Warnings: just fluff my dudes

Requested: kind of by an anon; I modified a request because I wanted to write something more like this

The day had arrived. After months of planning and meetings, Upload was actually happening. You were sat in Simon and yours shared hotel room, waiting for him to finish getting ready in the bathroom so the two of you could head over to the convention and help set up before the madness began.

I feel like the Fantastic Beasts films just want me to dislike them. I love Harry Potter as much as the next person (A LOT), but first they give me an almost entirely white cast (why???) and then they cast Johnny Depp and think I’m actually going to pay to see that man in anything. Lmao I don’t know who is in charge of this stuff but whoever it is needs to be changed to someone else.
