i try to go at least once a year

there’s an atlanta gay and lesbian chorus, i want to join, there are auditions tomorrow, but i probably won’t go. i’ll try and join once i’m at least a year on testosterone, so it probably wont be next year either.

The new school year is slowly but surely approaching, so I wanted to make a list of some things that could help you to prepare for the new school year and make going back to school easier.

1. Start fixing your sleep schedule early
We all love to sleep in late during the summer, but once school starts we cannot really stay up until 3am and still be in bed at 11am. Try to start fixing your sleep schedule at least two weeks before school starts. Start with going to bed 30 minutes earlier or sleep with the blinds open.

2. Finish all summer homework
Please, please, pretty please, finish your summer homework as early as possible. You will be so happy and feel so relaxed when you don’t have to rush finishing your summer homework and pull an all-nighter during the first week.

3. Buy new school supplies
No matter how much you hate school, getting new school supplies just feels so good! You don’t need to get anything fancy (or expensive), even something as little as a new pen or a notebook can make you feel so ready for school.

4. Clean your room/study space
By cleaning, I don’t mean pushing your papers and notebooks to the back of the closet. Go through every single box and drawer and throw away everything that you don’t need. You will feel so much better when your room and/or study space is clean and not full of old papers and pens that don’t even work.

5. Do some pre-reading
You don’t have to read the whole textbook before your class starts or do anything crazy like that. Something as simple as reading the titles and subtitles, or summaries of the chapters will help you to get an idea of what you will study during the year.

Some of these will not apply to many people so pls take them with a grain of salt. Also I’ve been collecting these pretty much for the two years I’ve been in college so it’s not a guide, they’re just… random I guess.

Making friends

Warning - specially tailored for super shy people aka me

  • There’s a thing called the ‘first week window of endless oportunities’. It’s when groups are still forming and everyone’s desperate to make friends. This is the time to put your best self forward (I’m not saying be fake, just a little extra friendly).
  • Leave. Your. Door. Open. Do it. Even if you have a roommate. Best way to make friends the first week.
  • Actually get out of your room. You’re not going to meet many people if you hole up in your room. If you have a tv room or people are watching a movie, I don’t care if you’re not interested in what they’re watching, go.
  • If you have the balls to go to the room nextdoor and introduce yourself then you probably can skip this section by all means do it!
  • But if you don’t, going from door to door asking for help with your laundry takes a lot less courage + you will learn how to do laundry. Asking to borrow something (pencil, hair tie, hair dryer) also works.
  • If you’re staying at a residence hall, ask to sit with people at lunch! Nobody is going to say no, i promise.
  • Similarly if you see someone alone, ask them to have lunch with you!
  • Also if you meet someone you get along with, as soon as you can, ask for their number ‘so you can go to the dinning hall together’.
  • Remember people’s names - it makes people feel like you actually care about them. I know it’s hard but make an effort. Also it just gets annoying when someone asks about your name for the fourth time. Use mnemonics if you have to.
  • Asking what someone’s major is and where they’re from is standard procedure when you meet them but it doesn’t make for an interesting conversation. Think of other questions!
  • Make sure to arrive about 10 min early to your classes. There’ll be very few people and so it’ll be easier to strike up a conversation (actually people will probably talk to you without you having to say anything which is g r e a t)
  • Say yes - as a rule of thumb, your social life should prevail over your academic life the first two weeks. This is the time where you’re not really pressed for time. Say yes to watching movies, say yes to going to lunch, say yes to going to campus events (and even to parties). Obviously don’t do anything that makes you really unconfortable but do try to step out of your comfort zone
  • Make friends with an upper-classman from your same major. Or at least be on speaking terms. Talk to them on Facebook, ask them about your major, just use any random idc excuse to introduce yourself, it doesn’t really matter how you do it.
  • Don’t go home every weekend, even if you live close by. You’ll miss out on the best of campus life and some of the most fun memories with your new friends.

Keeping your old friends

  • If you know you’re going home for the weekend, try to finish most of your assignments/studying and make time to hang out with your friends. Spending time with them is the best way to keep those friendships alive.
  • But! Don’t worry too much if you can’t come home or make time for your friends too often, you just have to make an effort to text them regularly. It will come naturally if it’s your best friend, but don’t forget to set a reminder to text other close friends at least once every two weeks.
  • You may think you don’t care now but you will once you come home for the summer.
  • If any of your friends are staying in your hometown for college, be ready for them to get another friend group. That doesn’t mean they’ve forgotten about you, but don’t be mad if they seem to have a lot more plans that don’t involve you. You can always ask to tag along some time and maybe even become friends with these people!
  • Some people you’ll just lose contact with. Don’t fret it.

Organization

  • Please print out or buy a calendar that has a whole page for each month. With boxes preferably *shameless plug*. You may think you have it all under control but there’s nothing like being able to see all your due dates, hang out plans and laundry days at a glance. (Also js but the pilot frixion are perfect to use on calendars because they’re erasable).
  • There’s so much space under your bed. UTILIZE IT.

During his move to Washington, DC, Stiles made a number of realizations about life, the most prominent of which was that it was amazing what kind of hobbies a guy could pick up when his days weren’t packed full of running for his life from various supernatural horrors. Like trivia nights, for example. Stiles had a regular team and the entire bar groaned when they walked in because they knew they were about to get creamed.

Or the tabletop gaming club he joined, where everyone was just as competitive as he was, and punches had been thrown on more than one occasion.

Or like, Stiles jogged now.

Through the National Mall.

Like Captain America or some shit.

And with these hobbies came a sort of routine, and though most were on hold during the summer when his trivia team and gaming rivals were back home, the running stuck. It was calming and got his mind off things, gave him a chance to think about any papers he had to write, or de-stress about his FBI internship when it got a little hectic.

It was a good routine.

So every Saturday morning, Stiles got up a little earlier so he could get in his longer route, and left his dorm for his jog through the National Mall. On Saturdays, he took the path that went through the war memorials, down into West Potomac Park, and over to the Jefferson Memorial. It was his favorite place to take a breather because that early in the morning, there were rarely any tourists, and other joggers left him alone. It was nice and private, with a great view of the city across the water.

Stiles leaned back against the front steps and glanced around him casually, making sure there was no one too close before pulling out his little burner flip phone.

He had an old school drug dealer flip phone. His dad would be so proud.

There was only one number the phone ever called, so there was no need to save it under a name.

He waited for a few minutes, biding his time until the clock hit 7:15am, and then he called that number.

On the third ring, Derek picked up.

“Morning, sunshine!” Stiles greeted, already wide awake from his jog. Derek grunted back. He must’ve had a late night at the bar. “Any leads?”

Derek yawned loudly. “Still no werewolves with triskele tattoos, still wanted for murder.”

  • Ravenclaw: No, I feel trapped in this moment in my life. Where am I going? What am I doing? And how am I going to get to where I want to be?
  • Hufflepuff: We're going to charms class, we're going to be doing charms work, and usually hard work and dedication. Try to think in the now.
  • Ravenclaw: Well, in the now I'm contemplating an assault on you.
  • Hufflepuff: At least you're thinking about here and now!

i want to make a list of movies/books/etc where a major plot point is “mom helps daughter kill a man who hurt her, or at the very least helps her hide the body” but in general that is never what the actual plot is about, so it’s huge spoilers, which is ACTUALLY KINDA WEIRD now that i am thinking about it. with dad movies it’s the whole plot of the things, SOMEONE HURT HIS DAUGHTER AND NOW THEY’RE GONNA PAY

but i read a book once that was entirely about a girl going back to her hometown after twenty years and trying to reconcile with her mother after The Incident. then they finally reveal 80% of the way through the book that The Incident was that protag thought she’d killed her date rapist and had been scared to come back because she’d somehow made it twenty years without consequences, but actually she’d only seriously injured her date rapist. protag’s mom had found the guy while looking for her wayward daughter, realized what happened, and ran him over with her truck and buried the body under her garden. she never said anything because of Mom Code.

there was no indication at any point prior to this that this was a book about a murder. it was a heartwarming coming-of-age story about a woman entering her middle years learning to better understand her mother. that just happened to include covering up a murder. protag thought her mom was just an obsessive gardener.

psa for college freshman

hey, whats up, hello! so you’re gonna be a freshman and you’re probably moving in real soon, and you might be excited but also nervous, not to worry i got you! here are some tips and tricks and general advice based on my own experience.

okay so step by step:

MOVE IN

okay so this is easily the most stressful thing about the first week of school. you gotta get all of your stuff into a tiny dorm if it’s a big room i am literally so jealous my dorm was like a prison so don’t freak out, stay cool and pack efficiently!

  • try not to overpack, it’s really easy to believe you’ll need everything you’re bringing but trust me you won’t even look at half of it
    • a good tip for this is, if you don’t use it at home, don’t bring it to school! (plus it’s really easy to just buy stuff you need on amazon so don’t forget that that’s an option too)
  • if you’re going to a school that deals in snow, DON’T bring that stuff (jackets/hats/boots/etc) with you when you move in. if you know you’re going to go home for a weekend before the snow sets in, definitely leave it at home and bring it with you later!
  • let your parents/guardians/friends/family help you move in. it might not seem like a big deal, but letting them help you will make them feel better. and if you don’t like how they arrange things, let it be! you have all semester to rearrange and settle in, they only have this one day, so just let them have it! also don’t forget to thank them when they leave!

ROOMMATES

ah yes, the wonderful concepts of roommates. i was lucky my freshman year, but some people aren’t

  • try and connect with them via facebook/school emails/phone, settling things like are you gonna share a mini fridge, microwave, coffeemaker and how you’re gonna decorate (if you’re into that) will help when you finally settle into your room
  • definitely go over ground rules once you’re all unpacked and settled in. my dorm had us go over a list of questions, come to an agreement, and sign it in case there were any future conflicts. cover things like:
    • is it okay to have my friends sit at your desk or on your bed when you aren’t there?
    • how should we handle overnight guests?
    • do you want me to give you a heads up if i have friends coming over?
    • 100% agree to give each other a heads up on parents coming to your room
    • sharing food?
    • cleaning responsibilities
    • definitely definitely give each other a copy of your class schedule, and if you have classes at the same time maybe you can agree to make sure you’re both awake at the right time!
  • you don’t have to be bff’s with your roommate, sometimes it turns out that way and sometimes it doesn’t. what you do need to be is open and honest with your roommate. your year will be miserable (especially if you can’t switch roommates) if you don’t communicate with each other. don’t be afraid to tell them if something is bothering you. if you’re to nervous to do that or don’t like confrontation, talk to your RA or RD

so now that we got all that out of the way, here are some general tips about social things:

  • that whole keep your door open and people will come talk to you think is a load of bs. me and my roommate did that for weeks and no one came in. everyone is just waiting for someone else to take that chance. so go into peoples rooms and ask them if they wanna grab lunch/dinner! walk around and poke your head in their room! it might be awkward as hell but at least you’re trying :)
  • go to all (or as many) dorm activities as you can! this allows you to meet more people too even if the event is really dumb, at least show up. you always have the option to leave!
  • go to club meetings! even if you aren’t sure you want to stay in the club. it’s much harder or maybe just more awkward to join when you’re an upperclassmen, so try and get those roots down as soon as you can
  • that being said, you can always leave a group without any hard feelings. people do it all the time, so don’t be scared that once you go to one meeting you’re stuck in the group forever
  • don’t let anyone tell you that as a freshman you can’t get involved. if you want to, you can. there is absolutely nothing stopping you. you might have to work a bit harder but i know you can do it!
  • sometimes freshman year can suck, or at least have it’s moments. don’t give up. everything gets infinitely better as time goes one, i promise. if you’re having a tough time or feel isolated or overwhelmed, reach out to someone, a parent, friends from home, an old teacher, anyone really! don’t give up, things might get tough, but you ARE strong and you WILL get through it

Imagine

The marauders met way before their Hogwarts years. Remus wasn’t even a werewolf yet. They were about 4 and all of them were taken to Diagon Alley by their parents for different reasons but ended up meeting at Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour.

Walburga Black let Sirius play with little James Potter as she caught up with a very polite and pure blooded Euphemia Potter. Sirius was just standing very still as he watched James bounce all over the place, letting his ice cream drip to the ground, as he excitedly told Sirius a story that sounded everything but real.

Then, they heard the bell from the door and a lady walked in with small chubby kid holding on tightly to her mother’s hand, half hiding behind her as he chose what ice cream he wanted to eat. James watched the boy curiously and walked over to him. “The chocolate frog with popping caramel is really good.” He told the boy over his shoulder getting a jump out of him. Little Peter Pettigrew looked over at James Potter and smiled before asking his mother for the chocolate frog flavoured ice cream with popping caramel.

Peter’s mother let him chat with the young Potter and Black, just glad to see her son talk with other kids his age for once. He looked happy too.

Then a man walked inside the shop, carrying his son who was wildly trying to explain his father why he really needed a wand like… right now. Lyall Lupin chuckled and put Remus down so he could pick his ice cream flavour. Remus looked up at his father and was trying to bargain a “Alright if I don’t get a wand, at least I can get two flavours” kind of deal when he gained the attention of a curious Sirius Black. And once Remus made it and was patiently waiting for his two scoops, Sirius elbowed James and Peter and walked over to him. he just had to meet the boy who got his father to get him two scoops of ice cream. I mean, two scoops! And it was almost dinner time!

After that parents started calling their respective kids to go on with their affairs and the boys wouldn’t meet again for years.

This was supposed to go to @jilylicious ask box as a small happy headcanon but it just got out of hand. Oops.

Honestly, being a fic writer sucks. Like, I know I’ve joking talked to @xambedo about how if fandoms were totem poles (probably a super bad analogy, I know) fic writers would be towards the bottom. Not the very bottom, because fics are generally more relevant than AMVs (which are hella awesome and deserve way more recognition because editing videos and matching clips is hard), but certainly not towards the top either.

Some lovely things that come with being a fic writer:

  • Being told you’re not a “real” writer. Because it’s entirely irrelevant that fanfiction has created a new wave of writers and most are entirely self-taught. I learned more writing fics between the ages of 13-18 than I ever did in school, so much so that my Creative Writing professor in collage told me there was “nothing more he could teach me.”
  • Fanfiction, as a whole, has a generally negative connotation. You find any book to movie adaptation that didn’t go well at all and people say it was “written like fanfiction.” Not “bad fanfiction” just “fanfiction. Never mind that there’s so much good fanfiction (some of which being better than the actual source material).
  • Need to pay the bills? Want to try commissions? A patreon? Good luck!
  • The overall lack of response sucks. Generally speaking, even the most popular writers in fandoms struggle to get their work spread around. On a good day you can get maybe 100-300 notes on a fic (wide range, but that’s exactly how much it varies), and that depends on when you post it, how many times you reblog it yourself, and chance. A lot of people just don’t reblog fics
  • There are no good sites to post fics. FF.net is dysfunctional 70% of the time, AO3 is complicated to use and people are even less likely to leave comments there, and Tumblr just isn’t very welcoming to writers (I’ve been told several times that I should just move to a different platform. Jokes on you, even sites dedicated to fic writers absolutely suck. There’s no winning, only exhaustion and resignation.)
  • Reviews/Comments are frustrating as all heck. Either readers don’t review, they leave magnificent comments that touch your soul, or you get twelve reviews telling you to “update” despite the fact that you just did an hour ago. I promise you, fic writers watch their email like a hawk after updating, and the moment they open that first email saying they have a review and see it’s just telling them to update again, they deflate. And it’s not that people don’t have the time or don’t know what to say, they just… don’t want to.
  • (Sidenote: try bribing your readers sometime, just to see for yourself. If you have a consistent schedule, casually slip in that “hey, if this chapter can hit *insert number slightly higher than the average* reviews, I’ll update *insert earlier date than when you would be updating*.” Like, just try that once. I swear you’ll get least a few more reviews than normal.)

Blahblahblah, I’m whining, if you’re going to reblog this to be a snarky asshole and call fic writers entitled/greedy/etc how about you consider not doing that and maybe just let fic writers be frustrated over things. Writing is hard.

5/6 for andreil pls!! You can combine or do them separately whatever floats ur boat <3

5: “Please don’t do this” (I’m doing them separately im weak, #6 should be out tmrw! also… a phrase with ‘please’ in it.. I’m using up all my dreaming/drunk/dying scenarios)

It’s common knowledge among foxes that waking Andrew is Neil’s job, unless you want to get a fist to the solar plexus. But it’s also true that Andrew is the only one who can extract Neil from his nightmares without scaring him back into the trunk of a car or an evermore bed.

It’s one of the “fun facts” for fox survival that Nicky recites to newcomers: don’t touch Neil when he’s sleeping unless you want to feel like you’ve just kicked a puppy. Don’t touch Andrew under any circumstances if you like your fingers attached to your hands. When in doubt, get whichever one is awake and let them do their voodoo. If they’re both asleep at the same time, you’re fucked. Take pictures.

Andrew never bothers to correct him. There’s nothing to correct, if Andrew’s being honest (and he always is).

Quietly learning to wake each other is the result of bruising trial and error, a hard-won trust that grew like moss over ruins.

It’s still almost impossible, sometimes. Most of the time. Approaching Neil when he’s whimpering and protecting his face with his hands makes Andrew feel even more like a monster than usual.

Neil whispered to him on the bus once that the split second of disorientation in Andrew’s eyes when he wakes makes Neil scared for him.

Andrew starts to recognize the sheepish look of foxes who need to ask their vice-captain something while his head is lolling around Andrew’s shoulder. He almost always wakes him, it’s a clear subclause in his ‘keep Neil out of harms way’ contract, and Andrew’s dutiful when it comes to deals.

There’s a knock on the door at half past three on a Monday morning, and Andrew startles awake in an empty room. He stews in slow annoyance as the front door opens and closes, muffled voices tripping into the bedroom. He gropes for the light switch in the dark, and Kevin flips it on for him, toothbrush sticking out of his mouth, eyebrows shaking hands across the stretch of his forehead.

They have a brief staring contest and then Matt clears his throat from behind them, knocking awkwardly on the door frame.

“Um… Andrew?”

Andrew looks at him blearily. He’s conscious of Matt’s eyes tracking his hair sticking out sideways, one of Neil’s soft nondescript shirts slouching on his chest.

“We need your expertise,” Matt says, grimacing. Andrew turns to retreat to his bed, unimpressed, but Matt huffs. “Neil’s having a nightmare. He fell asleep in our room.”

Andrew stops.

“He’s freaking out,” Matt continues, soft. He makes eye contact with a wild edge that says he’s refusing to let the blankness in Andrew’s gaze phase him.

Andrew pushes past Matt like he’s rolling his sleeves up, breaking out into the strangeness of the dorm at night.

The door to the neighbouring room is open and Aaron’s standing just inside, arms crossed.

“He woke me up,” he says cooly as Andrew passes.

“Jesus weeps,” Matt snarks, hot on Andrew’s heels. He’s looking beyond the twins to where Neil is curled on the floor, trembling. Matt’s face pinches with concern. Dan’s sitting on the couch by Neil’s head in a jersey and bare legs, looking like she’s trying to help just by being nearby. The room has the suddenly bright feeling of a fire alarm going off at night, minds alert inside sleep dulled bodies.

In the Rough

Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 (you are here), part 4part 5, part 6, part 7, based on @skygemspeaks ‘s prompt

Previously: Yuuri, runaway prince of Yutopia, has found himself in the service of Victor Nikiforov, crown prince of the neighboring country of Rus. As a prospect for Prince Victor’s personal bodyguard, Yuuri was granted an audience with the Tzar. At first, Yakov is skeptical of this “Yuuri Nishigori” that his sons found on the side of the road, but he’s won over by Yuuri’s eloquence and earnest desire to be of help. Prince Yuri, though, doesn’t seem to share his father and brother’s opinion. Regardless, Yuuri’s appointment is confirmed.

Yuuri doesn’t know what it is that he expects when they leave the Tzar’s presence, but it’s certainly not to have Victor complaining about how tired he is. “Travelling is hard on the body, Yuuri,” he says wisely. “We should go to sleep early, since we have to get an early start tomorrow anyway.”

Oh, Yuuri thinks. Maybe he’s not as immature as I thought. “Then, if Your Highness would point me toward the servants’–”

“Call me Victor,” Victor admonishes. “I already told you that. And Yuuri, don’t you want to sleep with me?”

“Huh?” There’s no way to respond to that other than shock.

“You’re my personal guard, after all. You should be sleeping nearby, not all the way in the servants’ quarters.” Victor doesn’t seem to understand the implication behind his words, and that makes Yuuri feel at least a little bit better. He still has to figure out how to decline, though; Victor is one of the more stubborn people he’s known in a while, and it’s going to be hard, as a servant, to change his mind.

“You’re welcome to retire, Victor, but I’m afraid I’m going to have to borrow Mister Nishigori.” Yuuri’s saving grace come in the form of a young man with dark hair. “We have to go over your schedule for tomorrow and ensure that he knows what’s expected of him.”

Victor pouts, but doesn’t protest that much. Something tells Yuuri that this may be a recurring argument, but at least for now he’s letting it go. “Don’t keep him too long, Otabek. We have an early day ahead of us!”

The man– Otabek? What an odd name –just raises an eyebrow. “You rarely have early days, Victor. You get up whenever you please.”

“Which is pretty early!” Victor protests.

Yuuri is looking between the two of them in shock. Is this really how servants in this country interact with their employers? Never mind the fact that Victor is a royal, it would be unheard of in Yutopia no matter the person’s rank.

Otabek doesn’t look in the slightest as though he’s joking, either. “By your standards, maybe. Now, we really must be going. I’d like to get some sleep tonight as well.”

He steers Yuuri away, keeping his shoulder in a vice grip until they get to the library. “My name is Otabek. I’m the captain of the guard. Before you ask, yes. You do outrank me.”

Yuuri blinks. “I know. I wasn’t going to ask that.”

The captain of the guard is in charge of the general guard, but personal guards are handpicked by the royal family. Therefore, they have more authority. That’s nearly unanimous, no matter the country.

Otabek’s eyebrows furrow just the slightest bit, but his expression is otherwise unreadable. Yuuri hopes that he hasn’t given himself away, and that he’s not sweating with nerves. But Otabek doesn’t say a word about it, instead pulling out a roll of parchment.

“Victor is well-loved by most, so in terms of protection, you aren’t going to have much to do. Always be on your guard, of course, but you’re more of a glorified babysitter than anything else.” He gives the scroll to Yuuri. “That’s his schedule for the rest of the week.”

“Is… why are you giving this to me?” The parchment is about as heavy as Yuuri expects, considering Victor’s title as crown prince, but there isn’t a reason that he should be the one carrying it around.

Otabek shrugs. “Victor is usually good about being where he should be, but both he and Yuri have a tendency to skip lessons they dislike. It’s your job to make sure that Victor doesn’t.”

“If I notice Prince Yuri ditching something, should I stop him?” Not that he thinks he’ll actually be able to, but he can at least try if it’s expected of him.

“Generally, if you see Yuri, either Georgi or I are very close behind him. I assure you that Victor will be more than enough to handle on his own. Just memorize that schedule and do your best to stick to it.” Otabek’s expression hasn’t changed once. “Two more things before I can let you go. You are free to ask for my help with Victor. Georgi frequently does, and he’s been Yuri’s guard for years.”

“I’d never dream of it,” Yuuri says hurriedly. “I’m sure you’re busy enough without doing my job for me. Not to say that Georgi doesn’t do his own job, but–”

Otabek cocks his head, considering him. “You really are interesting. I can see why they like you.”

Yuuri stops rambling. “Um… thank you? I think?”

“Don’t. I haven’t yet decided whether or not I like you. Your work ethic and dedication will decide that.”

The fact that he isn’t glaring only makes that a more intimidating statement. Still, Yuuri decides that he likes Otabek. People who avoid snap decisions tend to be very good judges of character, he’s learned.

He manages a smile. “Alright. You mentioned that you had something else to tell me?”

“Yes. Victor is much more than he appears to be. Keep that in mind and do what he asks.” Otabek shoots him a look that almost looks amused. “That includes his name and your sleeping arrangements.”

Yuuri just gapes at him as he puts a hand on his shoulder and leaves the library, leaving Yuuri to find his own way back.

He manages, if only after about an hour of aimless wandering, to find Victor’s room again. He doesn’t have any nightclothes, so he’s planning on just sleeping in his undershirt and trousers on the chaise at the end of Victor’s bed.

What he’s not planning on is having Victor jumping at him as soon as he opens the door. “Yuuri!”

“Your Highn–Victor, what are you doing?” Yuuri barely manages to keep the both of them from falling to the floor. “Shouldn’t you be asleep?”

Victor looks at him with wide blue eyes. “I decided to wait for you.”

Oh no, Yuuri thinks, face burning as he averts his eyes. He’s cute. Why is he so cute?

“That’s not healthy or appropriate,” Yuuri chides gently. “No servant should be getting in the way of something you need. And you need as much sleep as you can get.”

Somehow, Victor manages to talk Yuuri out of his original plan of using the chaise. Not twenty minutes later, he’s standing in too-big nightclothes borrowed from Victor, being tugged onto the bed. Victor latches onto Yuuri and falls asleep quickly, breathing going soft and even.

Yuuri, on the other hand, doesn’t get much sleep at all.

I mean even if u dont like jonsa it is a little weird that they keep letting men mention her to jon?

This is actually a quite interesting point, isn’t it, Nonnie? I’ve been thinking about this during 7x05 a lot. For example, why didn’t Gendry mention Arya to Jon? He was with her several months (at least? Maybe even a year?), surviving the gold cloaks, Harrenhal, the brotherhood and some other shit. If you ask me, that’s a way more interesting story to share than “By the way your father visited me once you are so short lol.”

I guess what I’m trying to say is, they could’ve continue the whole Jon being an overprotective brother thing with Arya and Gendry. Easily. They didn’t do that. Yet. Next episode Jon is going to spend some quality time with the Hound. Will he mention Arya or Sansa? Or both? And how will Jon react? You bet I’m going to watch those interactions very closely, my friend.

One thing is for sure: It’s very important for them to remind us constantly that Jon would do anything to protect Sansa. They want us to know that she is his soft spot or in Grey Worms words his weakness. And we are going to see what that exactly means in the future.

You think our daughter is going to start having crushes and wanting to chase boys at the age of five? Now you’re just being stupid.

“Absolutely fucking not,” Bakugou argued and his eyes are narrowed, eyebrows knitted together as a sign that he wasn’t going to back down from this.  You let out a heavy sigh, knowing exactly where this conversation was going. “My fucking kid is going nowhere near that little shit’s goddamn brat! Over my dead body!”

Hello, I was just wondering would you know how the cast's auditioned/came about to getting their roles e.g. I know for example Tarjei skipped maths class to go to the audition and Lisa auditioned because a lot of people were auditioning from her dance school. But do we know about the other actors?

hey lovie! not a lot, actually! I do remember the rumors about them looking for a new male character before season three started that had all Norway going to the skam auditions. I think they at one point had to like, post a notice that they had enough people coming to audition since everyone and their dad was trying out. the fact that Henrik was chosen out of all of those people, and he was at least two years older than the age they were initially looking for definitely says something about how special his audition must have been, I think! as for Ulrikke, I think she talked about in a podcast once. didn’t she like, sing a weird song during her second audition for the role of Vilde? does anyone remember? I know the character of Jonas is almost completely based on Marlon, which I think is such a nice thought, hahaha. he must have nailed his audition as well, I’m thinking.

a lot of other people were cast because of their friends playing characters in skam, I’m fairly sure! David got the role of Magnus via Tarjei, the guy who plays Mikael got cast via Marlon, the girl who plays Sonja got cast because she and Henrik went to the same school and Cengiz got cast because he knew Herman, who plays penetrator Chris, of course. I think Adam got a part on skam because he was already working with nrk and they asked Julie to write him in, so I doubt he did auditioned at all. as for the rest, I don’t really know! if anyone else knows, do leave a message for this anon!

Creepypasta #1120: A Quick Guide Of What Not To Do When You Get Lost During A Hike

Length: Long

I’ve been hiking the woods behind my house ever since I was eighteen years old. I know every single trail like the palm of my hand. I try and go at least twice a week, sometimes just once if I’ve been particularly busy. It has a dense kind of forestry, where the branches connect at the canopy and filter out most of the sun.

The trail I frequent is pretty famous now, not like it was when I had first begun taking it. It’s my favorite, because it leads deep into the unknown areas and right to a beautiful creek. It always feels like I’m exploring. And if I’m lucky, I’ll catch glimpses of the local wildlife.

Anyone who goes into the woods occasionally knows that it looks different throughout the day due to the placement of the sun. The shadows fall in other areas and are sometimes more elongated.

I’m used to the ever changing ways. But yesterday, something happened to me that I just couldn’t quite explain within rational reasoning. I’m going to let you guys know what happened. At the same time, I’m going to tell you what not to do when you get lost during a hike.

Number one: Never, ever lose yourself. No, this isn’t some deep shit that I’m trying to anchor into your hearts. I mean it literally; don’t let yourself get lost. Keep track of where you are. Only veer off familiar trails if you have a good idea of where it leads to.

So, as you could probably tell, I did exactly that.

My boots were stomping over the flattened dirt, high grass, and dense packs of trees lining either side of me. It stays warm year round where I live, so the leaves were still plentiful and shaded me from the sun. I passed by the group of rocks that that I call the “angry wife”, as it resembles the angry face of an old woman.

I was about forty minutes from the entrance of the woods. To my left, right after “angry wife” rock, I noticed something that I had never seen before. It was the tiniest, most subtle trail. It looked like it had been barely used. From what I could tell, it was man made, not by the wildlife. But hey, I’m no fucking expert.

Stupidly, I veered from my usual path. It had been a good day. I was in a fantastic mood and felt like poking out of my comfort zone. I was on wide alert as I cautiously took a few steps away from my safe zone. It looked completely normal at first. Beautiful, even. I could feel a wide smile spreading over my face.

The golden sun was bleeding through the canopies, lighting the way in a warm glow. Butterflies bounced around in front of me. Birds chirped loudly as they playfully flew in and out of sight.

Number two: Never lose track of time.

I lost track of time. I thought it had only been about twenty minutes since I had started my mini exploration. When I checked my phone (which of course, had no signal), it had been almost an hour. Stunned, I stopped in my tracks, immediately spinning around to make my way back to the original trail. I made a mental note to come back and walk through the rest of that new path.

As I was walking back, the sun was beginning to set. Remember how I said the forest changed how it looked through the day? Well, that’s what happened, except it was multiplied by about a thousand. I had been hiking in the dark. Hell, I’d spent whole weekends in these woods. It’s never looked this way.

Happy New Year, friends. This year, set REALISTIC goals. Resolutions like “I’m never eating carbs again”, are ridiculous and will make you go insane trying to abide by them. A goal like “I want to lose 10 lbs by the end of March” is a realistic goal and you will feel better about yourself when you complete it. My New Years resolution is to do abs 2x a week and cardio at least once a week (this is quite a challenge for me, lol). Big hugs! 😊
