i tried to do a timed gifset thing but it failed so here

squee on the head/heart scene

In response to this gifset, @bellsqueen said “The first set from season 1 is Clarke telling Bellamy that she knows he’s a good person, so act like it. Then the second one from s4 also mentions that everything stupid he did was for Octavia but the context and the delivery is so much more romantic. And I can’t get over how Clarke is like, telling Bellamy how big his heart is and it’s clear that she loves that about him and I have to lay down ok.”

And I’m over here flailing because YES, BABE, YES. THAT’S WONDERFUL. It’s interesting that they keep returning to that too, from s1 to now. They put a lot of effort this season into callbacks, and when they went for this call back, they picked this particular aspect of Bellamy to say, this is what Clarke admires about him. She sees that he loves others, gets his strength from loving others, and that’s what defines him in her eyes. Even when she warns him that it’s not always enough, that he needs to be logical too, she still touches his chest reverentially while her gaze goes soft.

I think one could point to a subtle difference too, that Bellamy sees this quality in himself as being defining as well. But when he reflects on his actions, he thinks he’s driven by responsibility and by being a protector.  Clarke looks at that same quality and sees him as being driven by love, by his heart.  As much as I chafe sometimes about how we the fandom lean too much into this head/heart analogy about Bellarke, and make it cover TOO much of their character… I do think it’s kind of lovely when you look at it as a meta-expression of how they see each other in terms of love. Not as a simplified explanation of what they’re talented at, but it being what they admire in each other.

If “I got you for that” is Bellamy saying he admires the opposite in Clarke, even leans on it… I think he sees her ‘head’ decisions as not intellect but wisdom.  And I need to watch the finale again but I’m gonna make a light connection there with what he tells Octavia about Prometheus: stealing fire (invention, thought, wisdom) from the gods. He used that metaphor for Octavia, when there were honestly more fitting myths he could have used. But THAT is what they had Bellamy mention this episode. That’s telling us as much about Bellamy’s perspective as his sister’s, and introducing that subtextual imagery of Prometheus into the episode. And as Praimfaya descends, who is the lone human that climbs into the sky, sends a message, and suffers physical torment so that others can live and prosper? …Clarke fucking Griffin. So yeah… If using one’s head means freedom and success to Bellamy–if that’s the ultimate service one can do for one’s community–then that ties really neatly into why he’s put so much faith in Clarke’s capacity for judgment over the last 4 seasons.

He believes, in most situations, that she sees clearly and tries to make the best call. Even when the cost is high. He trusts her to do that in times when he trusts no one else (s2 finale, s3 finale, 403).  And Clarke has lived up to that, sacrificing herself over and over again, unfailingly chasing the best way to save others, to do the right thing. Clarke, meanwhile, trusts that whenever Bellamy acts, his intentions are driven by his heart. She sees into his core and she knows his strength draws from a source of love and hope. His motives are clear as crystal to her. She gets him. They both carry these shining torches of faith for each other, a faith that is so monumental it’s driven the story season after season. Up through the end of the world. And when one of them stumbles, fails, doesn’t live up to their best self because of grief, anger, arrogance, or heartache… that faith never wavers. The other reaches out for them and folds them into their arms and still cares, still believes. Clarke and Bellamy negotiate each other back from the edge, because they each believe so powerfully in the other person’s inherent goodness.  And they see each other as working toward goodness in a way that they, respectively, admire and aspire to.

This is why I’m like… so fucking nuts over bellarke as an evolving relationship, and why my expectations for them are so high, no matter how long it takes.

It’s a love story where the thing they most admire about each other, is the fact that the person tries so hard to do the right thing for others.  That’s a hell of a thing to love someone for.

So, I may or may not have got inspired to send you this by your tags on that Diego gifset. What about a story in which Jyn teases Cassian and he does (theThing™) those very same expressions? Situation and all the background up to your awesome writer mind ;) Sorry if this was super random and weird lol [blushes] xxoo

the Thing™ in question

“Just admit it!” Jyn teases, sitting cross-legged on Cassian’s bed while he hunts for the shirt she’d torn off and flung god only knows where last night. “You lost on purpose.”

She’s referring, of course, to their sparring match yesterday afternoon. It was Draven’s idea, having two of his best fighters put on a demonstration for the newest class of recruits. They spar with relative frequency, so Jyn knows he’s good. She knows he doesn’t give up so easily.

She knows he doesn’t get that look in his eye when they’re training alone.

Yesterday, surrounded by moonfaced teenagers without any hand to hand combat skills, Jyn felt something between them shift the first time he had her pinned, gasps and cheers erupting from the crowd. After that, she noticed an alarming lack of resistance from Cassian.

Draven called the match shortly thereafter, naming Jyn the winner. Her prize? Being pulled away from the training room to Cassian’s quarters and a decidedly unrestful evening.

Now, Jyn gets it. And she intends to milk this newfound information for everything it’s worth. “I can’t believe Captain Cassian Andor, a top Intelligence Officer, would throw a fight with a subordinate.”

“I did no such thing,” Cassian answers, finally.

“You totally did,” Jyn continues, mouth curling up in a smirk. “Could it be that Cassian Andor, famed spy, has a thing for his tiny partner overpowering him in front of a crowd?” She feigns shock, bringing a hand up to cover her open mouth and tries not to laugh.

But, boy, does his resulting expression not make her want to giggle. Instead of trying to brush it off, Cassian just raises a brow and looks at the ground, sheepish. The muscles of his jaw clench and she sees where he must be working his tongue to keep from outright smiling. It’s infuriating

Here she is thinking she has the high ground, and what does Cassian do? Make her want to fucking jump him.

Jyn stands, pulling her own shirt off. “You’re the worst,” she groans, wrapping her arms around Cassian’s neck and reaching up on her toes.

“You don’t seem that annoyed,” he says, forehead pressed to hers.

In a show of frustration, Jyn smacks him on the ass. “Oh, no, I am.” They’re both giggling like the teenagers they never got to be and Jyn couldn’t be happier.

Cassian lifts her with ease, her legs wrapping around his waist like they were designed for it. “By all means, let me apologize,” he says, wicked gleam in his eye.

A little distracted by the press of Cassian’s hips against hers, Jyn decides to file away her discovery for later use. It’s worthy of thorough explanation, after all.

Fucking Finally

Pairing: Sebastian Stan x Reader

Prompt: Seb training reader on knife work on set of winter soldier (inspired by this gifset)

Word Count: 1355

Warnings: Swearing. Lots of it. Insinuations of sex. Heavy makeout session. Teasing.

Author’s Note: This is a collaboration between @writing-soldiers and myself. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing. Hope this will tie you over until the next part of Dinner comes out! Seriously though, we worked our asses off for this. We sincerely hope you like this! :)

Your name: submit What is this?

“Shit!” You screamed in frustration. No matter how hard you tried, you just couldn’t seem to get this knife work right. You can’t play (Y/C/N), another troubled Winter Soldier, if you can’t get this down. Naturally, it didn’t help that your mentor was none other than Sebastian Stan, your cast mate who also happens to be someone you had been heavily crushing on since the day you met. Damn he was attractive, who could blame you? You’d give anything to be pressed up against that body.

Well fuck (Y/N). If you keep this up, you’ll never be able to focus. You shook your head, determined to get this right even if it meant staying in the gym all night. I’m not leaving until I get this. You could hear Sebastian laughing at you. His laugh sounded like music to your ears. Whipping your head around to glare at him, you growled, determined not to let him see the effect his laugh had on you. That is one sweet ass sound.

“Shut the fuck up Stan. If you would maybe do your job and help me, maybe we wouldn’t still be here!” He simply smirked, not oblivious to the taut tension in your body.

“Maybe if you knew what you were doing we wouldn’t still be here.” he retorted as he walked up to you. Rolling your eyes, you turned around and went through the movements again. Failing once more, you couldn’t help but let out a nervous laugh.

“Then, show me will you?” You all but screamed at Sebastian, frustrated at your lack of concentration and flustered at the effect his everything had on you. You couldn’t help but let your eyes wander over his body as he walked towards you, cursing yourself for the blush creeping up to your cheeks.

Sebastian stood unnecessarily close to you, pressing his hard chest against your back. His hand reached up to grab yours to fix your hold on the fake knife, the brush of his fingers making your stomach tingle. You could practically hear him smirk, his breath tickling the back of your neck. Your eyes snapped shut as you involuntarily shuddered, unconsciously leaning back into him.

“Stand up straight (Y/N).” his other hand landed firmly on your hip to straighten your posture. Long after you straightened up, he didn’t let go. Instead, his hand trailed higher onto your waist.

Turning around to look at him, you opened your mouth to question his actions. Well, that was before you saw the blush creeping up his neck. It was your turn to smirk. You couldn’t believe that he was becoming flustered over you, his smug attitude completely disappearing.

You turned your head forward again, hiding the smile that was forming on your lips. You contemplated how you wanted to play this. Did you want to flirt with him? Tease him? Get him all hot and bothered by your actions?

The smile on your lips grew wider. Without saying another word, you trailed your fingertips along the veins on his arms. You were not unaware to the effect your dancing fingertips had on Sebastian. But, you didn’t want him to get used to the feeling, so you walked away to grab your water bottles, leaving him standing in the middle of the gym alone. You smirked as you swayed your hips. You swore you could hear him let out a quiet whimper.

Walking back over to where Sebastian stood with a blush creeping higher onto his neck, you threw him his water bottle. Taking a swig from your own, you nearly missed Sebastian’s inability to comprehend an object being thrown at him. He almost dropped the bottle but caught himself just in time. Your smirk grew.

Setting down your water bottle, you walked up to Sebastian. You settled yourself closer than before and twisted your body so your ass was just right there above his crotch.

“So, are you going to show me how this is done or not?” There was a hint of teasing in your voice. Sebastian cleared his throat and began instructing you on what to do. But you were not paying the slightest attention to his voice. Instead, you were focused on just how you would need to move your hips to tease him. Swallowing hard, you tried your hardest not to let him see the reaction you had to your bodies brushing against each other.

Smirking, you shifted your hips, pressing your ass against his crotch. “Is this the right position?” you asked. You shifted your hips again. “Or maybe this one is better?” Shifting your hips again, you could feel him stiffening. You smirked. “Come on Stan, how am I doing? Which is the right position? I could do this all day.”

“Don’t start something you can’t finish (Y/N)” his voice was low but shaky, his hands landing on your waist to stop you from moving. You could feel him drop his head, his nose slightly brushing the back of your neck and his hot breath sending shivers down your body.

“Who says I don’t plan on finishing?” you say, your voice equally shaky. You closed your eyes, letting out a deep breath from the effect he was having on you. Tilting your head slightly, granting him access to your exposed neck.

That’s when he snapped. Gripping your hips and turning you around in one swift motion, Sebastian slammed you into the closest wall, kissing you senseless. His hands roamed all over your body as you mewled, the noises you made only serving to fuel his hunger. You tugged on his hair as you kissed him back with all the pent up frustration you had been feeling. His hand trailed to the back of your thigh, gesturing you to jump and you obliged, wrapping your legs around his waist. Straddling his hips, he groaned against your lips.

You didn’t know how long the pair of you had been making out. Every time you came up for air, he would attack your neck. Every time he came up for air, you would suckle his pulse point. You knew there would definitely be marks left on each other after this. You didn’t know how you would explain it to the rest of the cast but right now, you didn’t care. Your intense makeout session with Sebastian had you arching into him, mewling and sighing. That was all you could focus on right now.

“Hey guys, I left my -” Your eyes flew wide open just to see Chris Evans standing at the doorway with a huge eyes and a knowing grin. You opened your mouth in an attempt to justify your situation but no words came out. Closing your mouth, you felt a hot blush crawl up your neck and onto your face and you buried your face in the crook of Sebastian’s neck in an attempt to hide it.

“Fucking finally!” Chris exclaimed. “The sexual tension between you two was thick enough to be cut through with a knife. And not the ones you use to train either, but a huge ass, sharp ass butchering knife.” Sebastian smirked. Bringing a hand up to lift your face, he continued his attack on your mouth, uncaring of the fact that Chris was watching. You lifted your hands to Sebastian’s chest in a futile attempt to stop him. But really, you were too lost in your happy haze to muster enough strength to push him away. Instead, you closed your eyes and kissed him harder, fisting his shirt in your hands.

“I’m just going to grab my stuff and leave you kids to it.” Chris laughed, jogging across the room to get his bag. Picking it up and nearly sprinting out the door in his haste, he screamed out one last sentence.

“Don’t forget to use a condom kids!” You could hear his laughter echo throughout the room and you couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle.  Sebastian paused his administrations on your neck and looked into your eyes. You could see the mischievous twinkle in his eyes.

“So. A condom huh?”

Ok your TL5Y comments have made me curious :) If you haven't already and wouldn't mind doing so, I'd love to hear more about specifically what Cathy did that you feel put her at fault (partly). I've seen the stage show and heard from others before and I'm not really one-sided, but I'd like to hear your perspective, especially because I feel like the movie tipped me even further in Cathy's favor, seeing more of her at Jamie's events along with feeling neglected and misunderstood and worse off?

I would like to point out before I write all of this, because there’s going to be a lot, that I don’t entirely blame Cathy. Jamie also did horrible things. I just think it’s very easy to see Jamie’s faults. So, now that my discretion has been put up, shall we?

In my opinion, I think the movie really did make Jamie out to be the enemy. For example, every stage production I’ve seen has never had more than one girl with him in bed at the end, and viewing him as a serial cheater in the movie really makes it seem much worse. I also personally think they pushed A Miracle Would Happen a lot farther than it needed to go, especially with the alcohol. I think that Jamie has always been a very big story teller, he’s got a very creative mind so sometimes, as writers do, he exaggerates things. But the movie does things that the stage production never does: shows him eyeing SEVERAL girls at the bar, going to strip clubs with his friends, and imagining other girls in their underwear. We would never see these things in the stage production, and we usually laugh a lot during this song, just like we do during A Summer in Ohio. I also don’t personally agree with JerJor’s choices in If I Didn’t Believe in You to get as angry as he did, because once again, it makes Jamie seem very condescending. Usually when I listen to that song, I can barely hear it over my heart breaking for how much Jamie really loves Cathy.

Now, anyways, on to Cathy. Or rather, comparing Jamie and Cathy.

Careers
“Here’s a headshot guy and a new Backstage, where you’re right for something on every page.” -Jamie
“Isn’t he wonderful, just 28? The saviour of writing.” -Cathy (sarcastically)
“I am so proud of you, baby, you’re doing what you never got to do before” -Jamie
“Jamie needs his space to write since I’m obviously such a horrible, annoying distraction to him.” -Cathy
“If I didn’t believe in you, and all of the ten thousand women you are.” -Jamie

Jamie was always very supportive of Cathy in her career, or rather, her lack of it. Even when things weren’t going well, Jamie wanted nothing but to see her succeed in what she loved doing. Cathy, on the other hand, resented Jamie’s success. And I think Jamie’s line in Moving Too Fast, “Some people can’t get success with their art, some people never feel love in their heart, some people can’t tell the two things apart, but I keep rollin’ on” really portrays Cathy in that moment. I know you’ve all seen the gifsets of him singing this line and how it pertains to Cathy. Jamie found success in his art, and Cathy didn’t. Jamie very much loved Cathy, although I do think that Cathy very much loved Jamie too. The difference was, though, that Cathy couldn’t tell those things apart in him. She thought all he loved was his work, and not her. “I’m a part of that, aren’t I?” And her resentment of his success was a huge fault.

Contradictory
“I will not be the girl who gets asked how it feels to be trotting along at the genius’ heels” (Climbing Uphill) / “I tend to follow in his stride, instead of side by side, I take his cue.” (A Part of That)
“I want you, and you, and nothing but you.” (I Can Do Better Than That) / “You can’t spend a single day that’s not about you, and you, and nothing but you.” (See I’m Smiling)

We all know Cathy was very contradictory. We’ve seen gifset after gifset of her saying one thing at the start of the show, and something very different at the end. I think it was hard for her to know what she wanted, because she swore to wanting something only to hate it afterwards. Although I didn’t quote it, the one that made me personally very upset, is in See I’m Smiling, she has a very unsuspecting personality. She starts off saying that she’s happy that Jamie could come and they could work on their relationship. But, once Jamie says he can’t stay, she gets upset with him. Jamie attempts to comfort her, but she pushes him away, and then at the end sings “And see I’m crying, and not do anything at all.” because I don’t know about you guys, but if a girl is pushing me away when I try to physically comfort her, I will not continue to do so. I think it was unfair of Cathy to be upset that Jamie wasn’t doing anything when she had already shown signs of not being wanted to be comforted. Now, I know a lot of you point out that it was awful of Jamie to leave her on her birthday, but this is one thing that I will fully support Jamie on. I don’t think he wanted to abandon her on her birthday. No one wants to leave their s/o alone on their birthday, that’s just a shitty thing for both of you. Plus, as a pilot’s kid, I can tell you that sometimes flying can be tricky, and if Jamie couldn’t make it back to New York the next day, what else was he supposed to do? If he had missed that party, I’m sure it would have looked pretty bad on him.

Self-Awareness/Selfishness
“Jamie is probably feeling just fine, and I’m still hurting.” -Cathy
“I’m not the only one who’s hurting here.” -Jamie
“Once the foundation’s cracked.” -Cathy
“You never saw how far the crack had opened.” -Jamie
“Maybe I’d see how you could be so certain that we had no chance at all.” -Cathy
“It’s not about another shrink, it’s not about another compromise” / “Some people analyze every detail, some people stall when they can’t see the trail, some people freeze out of fear that they’ll fail, but I keep rollin’ on” / “So we could fight, or I could wait, or I could go” / “You never saw I’d run out of rope.” -Jamie
(Just all of Still Hurting) -Cathy
“I made a promise and I took a vow. We wrote a story and I changed the ending, Cathy just look at me now.” -Jamie

I basically made these quotes in two. I gave Jamie a lot on the third one for a reason, but I’ll get to that as I go through these. First one I think is important. Jamie knew that this was going to hurt both of them, he was more than aware that this divorce would shatter Cathy’s heart. And of course, he was also breaking his own heart as he did it. I always say that I believe Cathy was very selfish, and I think that this is a prime example of it, in that she couldn’t see past her own hurt and pain to think for a moment that Jamie once loved her for five entire years, and that getting a divorce wouldn’t kill him. Alright, second one. I think this one just speaks for itself, that maybe Cathy wasn’t quite aware of just how broken everything was. She thought everything was going fine, that the foundation had just been cracked, but Jamie points out that the crack was open pretty far. Of course, they could be talking about different times, but remembering that Still Hurting and I Could Never Rescue You happen within 24 hours of each other, I think it’s important that these are the distinctions that are made. The third one, Cathy constantly believed that things could be fixed. She was a very hopeful girl when it came to the relationship, thinking that things could be fixed, but I gave Jamie all these quotes on this last one for a reason. The first quote states that it’s not like they’d never tried to fix things, they’d tried compromising and seeing shrinks, but as the last one says, Jamie just ran out of rope, and could no longer keep trying. The middle two sort of go hand in hand, although one might feel a little out of context seeing as it’s from Moving Too Fast, I think it’s important. Jamie couldn’t stick in a rut. He hated being caught standing still, and that’s probably how he felt at the end of the relationship. They could keep fighting and keep compromising and seeing more shrinks, but to him, they were standing still and running in circles, and he needed to move on in his life. In the end, I do think it was very mature of Jamie to leave Cathy, although I fully would agree in saying that it was awful of him to have to wait until AFTER he cheated on her to divorce her, I think it was smart of him to do so. Cathy would have never done that, because she kept wanting to try to fix something that never should have happened in the first place, to quote Jason Robert Brown here. Finally, with our last two, I think Cathy was very selfish. During all of Still Hurting, the entirety of the song is made up of “Jamie is ______”, constantly putting the focus on him and blaming him. He’s decided it’s time to move on, he thinks it was Cathy’s fault, when in reality, looking at the second quote, we might think different. Jamie also sings, “Facts are facts.” When he’s cheated on her, and he knows what he’s done is wrong, and he can tell that he’s done something awful by doing this. He made a vow to Cathy to always love her, and he changed it, and he lied.

I’m happy to write out other things, I guess. I will very much admit that it wasn’t all Cathy’s fault. Jamie was also a very faulted person. They were both faulted people who should have never been together. They ruined each other’s lives.

A Quick Revisit Travelers Part 3

Chapter 1 A Quick Revisit Amnesiac Stefan
Chapter 2 A Quick Revisit Stefan With PTSD
Chapter 3 Pt 1 A Quick Revisit Kathlena Part 1
Chapter 3 Pt 2 A Quick Revisit Kathlena Part 2
Chapter 4 Pt 1 A Quick Revisit Travelers Part 1
Chapter 4 Pt 2 A Quick Revisit Travelers Part 2
Chapter 4 Pt 3:
Stefan and Elena are kidnapped in order to drain their bloods but one of the travelers releases Stefan because she has her own agenda.
Stefan finds Elena and he seems quite indifferent seeing her look like death warmed up. You can tell from the scene that he’s worried about her and cares for her but it’s not same with the reaction that I could expect from him in the past.

If we were to read his expression and saying “Elena” as he’s in love with her then we should say the same thing for Elena too since she basically has the same reaction and expressions but we know that at this point she’s not so…
Then Stefan and Elena have to take a long way back to home and they are exhausted because their blood was drained therefore they get miserable and miserable with every new step they take to their home.
Elena: I think I just hallucinated a unicorn.
Stefan: Maybe Caroline’s nearby. (awww)
Elena: If Caroline was here we’d have a fully catered buffet on the side of the road and a rainbow.
Stefan: Two rainbows.
Elena: That’s funny. You know, when we were younger I couldn’t decide
what was more annoying her control freakiness or her delusional
positivity but right now honestly, there isn’t a single person I wish was here more.
Stefan: Her control freakiness never really bugged me.
Elena: Yeah. Well, you didn’t have to build a Barbie castle
with her in the second grade.
Stefan: That’s true but I do know this.

Stefan is with Elena and he’s so missing Caroline lol He needs his wifey with him. He rather would want to be in the travelers camp getting tortured by travelers with Caroline beside him.

With Caroline no mention of misery or Elena but with Elena unicorns=Caroline lol Even more Elena tries to pull a Caroline and a car appears right away!

It seems that they are both miserable without the two particular people who were in the meanwhile searching for them. As far as Stefan and Caroline are concerned they spent 5x21 with their exes until they meet. Caroline tries to help Tyler get his body back and Stefan tries to get back to his home with Elena.
Stefan and Elena are both admit that they grew apart and changed in 5x18 but I still find this scene hilarious.

Stefan is like

And I was like RIP Elena who Stefan fell in love with.
I don’t mean to make this an anti stelena post and it’s not my intention at all but there are just somethings need to be told because they concern the narrative heavily.
A small paragraph here; in Stefan’s individual narrative he admits that vampires are toxic species and he kinda seems like more okay with vampire nature. Whether this perspective will effect his lifestyle or not is still in question.

Then Stefan and Elena make it to MF only to face an attack from Liv and Luke. The witches threaten their lives and plan to kill “one of them”. The weak one Luke’s holding Stefan off while the stronger one Liv is hurting Elena as you can hear the sound of cracking bones and seems like they are about to kill Elena but interestingly Stefan doesn’t offer himself in place of Elena. He doesn’t say something like “don’t hurt her” “take me” “let her go” sort of, another indifference from Stefan regarding Elena. Fortunately they escape and return to their friends. Damon and Elena kiss and they talk about leaving but Stefan wants to wait Caroline and Bonnie. Pretty much can’t leave without the wifey, he missed her whole day lol

Now there is one look in the script has been put intentionally by the writers. I have my own opinions and I’m pretty sure this is interpreted differently by the different parts of TVD fandom. I’ll keep my opinion to myself. Narratively speaking, Stefan’s looking at Damon and Elena is connected to 5x22 Stefan’s speech. So regardless of my own opinion Stefan took this as their happiness [referring to “he was happy he should be here” speech] moment and not jealousy of his own. So at this point regardless of Stefan’s own feelings about Elena this scene pretty much plays out like I said in the writers’ room. That’s just my interpretation.

Then a heart got ripped out but whose was it? Stefan or Caroline? I think both.

Stefan has no strength to fight, his blood was drained and he wanted to avoid the fight and he knew that he couldn’t win against a hybrid in his situation.

Caroline suggested a sneak attack and he made a decision to prevent the fight and escape from there with Care and he trusted Caroline to do this. They spoke through eye contact. A closer look at their eye contact over Tyler(Julian)’s shoulder.

While Caroline waits for an opportunity to attack Julian from behind

Stefan’s getting his attention on himself to create Caroline an opportunity

Caroline: I don’t fail at things.
But she fails so bad this time and this is where everything goes downhill.

Now see this? Unlike Elena in the same episode Stefan doesn’t waste even a second to react and pull Julian away from Caroline but the thing is Stefan’s not looking at Julian. He’s reacting to Caroline’s face, he sees that she’s in shock, scared and unable to move. The way he does it really speaks for itself. He’s not attacking him, he’s not trying to snap his neck. He’s overreacting, he was not able to think straight when she was in danger he’s just pulling him away from Caroline and he’s kind of shielding himself out of his instict to protect her, knowing that he would lose the fight and die, he still protected Caroline without blinking an eye and died protecting her. There wasn’t even a fight either…
(gifs by peetahales ) ( Original gifset X )

I don’t know how long it took Damon and Elena to come but even when they came she was still crying:(

(gifs by thesteroline )
I wonder what Stefan was thinking while Caroline was crying by his dead body. Unfortunately we got no mention whatsoever about this scene.
Caroline: Bonnie has a plan, right? She–she said that
she could bring people back. Tell me that she can bring him back!

Now that she lost him and felt the pain, she’s able to do whatever she has to, she can go extremes to protect the ones she loves and she’d do whatever it takes to bring him back. Including snapping Luke’s neck.

Stefan’s life time BFF and our other favourite blonde vampire thinks that Stefan stayed in MF for Caroline.
Lexi: Remind me again why you never made it to Portland?
Stefan: Lexi, either one of us could blink out existence any second so if you have something to say to me–

We could trust Katherine’s sixth sense about Caroline and we can trust Lexi about Stefan. Lexi knows Stefan over a hundred years, so if she says something there is definitely something there.

*fingers crossed* We are gonna see that first date!

At the end of the day otherside has collapsed, Lexi-Damon and Bonnie died.
(gifs by maliahales ) (Original gifset X )

I love this scene, Stefan needs someone and she’s there beside him. She doesn’t need to do or say anything, Stefan just lets it all out and cries and you know Caroline lost Bonnie too but she’s putting Stefan’s pain first instead of her own and comforting him
and this is “the break point” that changed everone’s life.
Stefan lost Damon and Lexi then left the town without a goodbye.
Caroline lost Bonnie, Stefan and her hometown.

I’m soo happy that I’ve finished my hiatus event and revisited whole season 5 steroline! I hope you guys liked it!

This is an add on to the previous gifset that I made (x)

I just want to empathise how important Damon’s choice of words were. Bonnie sacrificed herself so he could come back (something that he struggled to wrap his head around). After all, Damon is used to not being the first choice, to not being placed first, but more than that, the idea that Bonnie (judgemental, do gooder Bonnie who has never let his crimes slide) would think his life worth, not only saving but, sacrificing herself for is mind blowing. And this is after she learnt what he considers to be his darkest deed (killing a pregnant woman).

It’s perhaps the greatest, most selfless thing that anyone has ever done for him - and there was nothing he could do to return the favour, to show Bonnie just how much that meant to him. Instead, whilst he was able to reunite with the people he loved, Bonnie was stuck in 1994, first with a murdering psychopath, and then, even worse, all alone. He tries to save her and that fails.

(’I’m over here and she’s over there and I hate myself for it’).

He hates that he gets to be home whilst the person who really deserves it is suffering. He hates himself for leaving her. That he wasn’t able to stay behind. That no matter what he does he can’t make that up to her, can’t make himself worthy of the sacrifice.

When he finds out that she’s going to commit suicide, again he’s powerless to do anything.

And when she does come back it’s through her own actions. Bonnie Bennett saved herself, again. And he can’t forgive himself for that. And worse, even though he tries to be a good friend (and let’s face it Damon has always sucked at this in the past), he fails again and again. His selfishness rears its head, first when he brings Kai to her and again when he tries to take the ascendant from her.

And he’s aware of the price she paid to send him back. She makes him aware. She tells him what she went through, what it was like, and clearly it tears Damon up. But still he can’t do anything about it. He can’t make it up to her.

He tries, giving her the opportunity to trap Kai in the other world, but that’s not enough, it even backfired.

And I guess what I’m trying to say is that season 6 for Damon has been a lot about his guilt and inability to forgive himself (which we don’t see a lot of throughout his run on the series). First, it’s presented with the pregnant woman he killed

(Bonnie: You remember it, don’t you? You make pancakes every day.

Damon: ‘Cause I’m bored.

Bonnie: No. 'Cause you’re punishing yourself. You call this place your hell, and it means you feel remorse.)

and then with his self loathing for leaving Bonnie behind.

And so by the point where Damon has to choose between Bonnie and Elena, I’m sure he’s already promised himself that Bonnie was never going to be alone again, that he was never going to leave her alone. I doubt waking Elena a few decades early at the price of Bonnie’s life was even an option for him.

And I think it’s real character development for Damon, because we’ve seen him do terrible shit, we’ve seen him throw a tantrum over said shit and, occasionally, feel guilty about it, but we haven’t seen him try to make amends, we haven’t seen him really work to make up for it. And the beauty of it this time is that it wasn’t even Damon’s choice to come back, this wrong that he is trying to make up for wasn’t even something that he chose - bonnie did.

And I think what they’ve both needed for so long is a person who will put them first, who will choose them. And they’ve become this for each other. Bonnie sacrificed herself for him and she was the first person she ran to see upon coming back. And Damon, more than anyone else, focused his attention on bringing her home from the prison world, he risked ruining his friendship with Alaric in order to this also. And, in the end, he chooses her over Elena.

So I’m interested to see where this goes in Season 7

And i’m tired and kind of lost where i was going with this so i’m going to leave it there. This is just what I took away from it anyway. Bonnie’s my favourite so i’m more used too analysing her but I don’t think I’m too far off the mark here. Maybe. what do you think?

And here is a super salty post about the way a lot of this fandom treats Tobin

That’s what this post is. See look ^^^^^ – it’s right up there in the post title. So if you’re looking for humor or anything but salt, scroll on. You shall not find it here, nope. And while I will be a C@ryl (look at me censoring my own ship tag!) shipper until the end of time, but this is not remotely a shippy post. Okay, good talk.

alishia412  asked:

Everyone seems to see a romantic relationship between Cas and dean, I'm sorry I just don't see it, maybe you can explain and break it down for me?

Oh boy, alishia412. First of all, let me stress that what follows below is not an attempt to persuade you of anything. It is just how I interpret what is currently going on in the relationship between Dean and Cas (and I mean relationship in the sense of sharing an emotional or other type of connection (x). ) If after this you don’t see it, think that there is no validity to my reading of what the cast and crew are suggesting in the subtext of the show, then that is more than okay. That’s both the frustration and beauty of this topic.

*cracks knuckles*

There are many definitions for the term subtext, but basically what subtext is, is reading between the lines, analysing the undertones of a narrative, interpreting implicit story-telling in the context of explicit canon. In television this is done through text, visuals, and sound.

A common visual example of subtextual storytelling is when two characters are on the bed making out and the camera fades out, or pans up to the curtains, or we cut to the following morning with the same two characters waking up next to each other in bed. This one is used so frequently it is easy to forget that it actually is subtextual storytelling; the audience didn’t see the two having sex, but the context of the story and a whole host of other visual clues (the way characters look at each other, the way they touch, etc.) make it clear to the audience that this is what happened.

Subtext can also stem from what dialogue implies and often relies on the context in which it is spoken. If you’re in a cafe and the guy behind the counter asks you if you want a cup of coffee, 99.9% guaranteed he’s asking you whether you would like to purchase one. Same guy asks you the same question at his front door after going to the movie with the scene in the example above, he’s most likely going to want recreate said scene without the fade out. It isn’t spoken out loud, but the subtext is pretty clear. (see what I did there ;-) )

Examples of silent story-telling through sound most often lie with music. A quivering violin creates tension, a merry tune levity, a sappy love song romance. Within the sound we can then once again dive into text by connecting lyrics with the story.

So, to your question. How come a whole group of people in the Supernatural fandom believe that Dean and Cas have romantic feelings for each other?

Hawaii Five-0 6x11 Kuleana

This episode. It got me so upset. Steve was a complete asshole and everything hurt. He treated this trip like a vacation, ditched Danny for some random girl, got drunk, and didn’t take the therapy seriously at all It made me so sad.

But then there’s this gifset (click it!), and it got me thinking… and thinking some more, and I rewatched the episode a couple of times, and I’ve come out of it with a whole new percpective of Steve and his actions.

To be clear, this is not a way to justify Steve’s behavior, okay? This is me making sense of things by looking at it from Steve’s perspective, and therefore gain more understanding (and peace of mind. My mind.) So not about who’s right, or wrong, but about perspectives. Okay. Glad we cleared that out.

Steve has said it before. All he wants is for Danny to be happy. Steve also has abandonment issues. So, what if he is not able to make Danny feel good anymore, why would Danny stick around then, right? What if he wouldn’t be enough for Danny, just like he wasn’t enough for Catherine? What would Steve be good for if he can’t make Danny enjoy himself (feel good about himself) and have fun in Steve’s company?

So first he tries to get Danny excited about the trip that they’re going on together. From the episode I take it this happened before the plane ride.(To Steve this is suppose to be a brocation, all right? To be enjoyed by the two of them. Together. Bros.)  That fails.

Then he’s really on about how awesome the place is and all the things they can do together. He got it all planned. Danny’s not excited, so another fail.

He even tries to get Danny to go out on a double date. (and I’m getting more and more convinced that the point wasn’t to get it on with Alyssa. No. It was about going on a double date with Danny.) Remember the double date with Catherine and Abby at the movie theatre? How much fun they had, together, on a double date? I think in Steve’s head this was something that Danny would enjoy for sure. Hanging out with some pretty girls (Danny likes girls), talking, laughing, having fun being social. Good times!

Okay, but to do that he needs to get them out of therapy (Danny hates it anyway. Danny has made it clear he never liked this therapy trip to begin with, and he is not enjoying the “therapy” they’re currently doing), and he needs to get to his phone so he can set up their dates. Well, that fails spectacularly.

Not only did Steve not make Danny happy, he made it even worse by messing up Danny’s ankle again! Aaaaand here comes the feelings of guilt and the fear of not being good enough. Run, Steve, run!! And so he does. It’s clear he’s not feeling good just looking at Danny, so of he goes to booze and girls to drown his fears and sads and pretend everything is fine.

Now, we have seen Steve drink before, but we have never seen him drunk. And he is sooo very drunk here. Very out of character from his normal “gotta be in control and on top of things, always” persona. When Steve tries to fix/solve things he gets controlling, when he thinks he’s failed he gives that up.

“The girls were really bummed you couldn’t make it. I didn’t now what to tell them.” He’s voice almost breaks at the end there, and he looks so sad? Why Steven? Why you so sad?

Then Danny brings up how Steve destroyed Danny’s weekend and immediately Steve’s deflecting shield come up. No, this is clearly Dannys fault. Danny and his negative attitude. Whitout that there wouldn’t be a problem. It’s all Danny’s fault (because if it’s not Steve’s fault there’s no reason for Danny to leave him, right?)

“I just brought us out here to have some fun, and reconnect a little bit, and get away from work for a minute, and you just – you just… you’ve been down on this thing from the start!”

Translation: “You didn’t even give me a chance! (You didn’t trust me to fix it so we could enjoy ourselves together by going out, doing stuff, having fun. Together. No therapy, no job, just us.”

Okay, so everything’s a mess, there are huge misunderstandings all over the place, and everything hurts. And Steve’s so very hung over the next day, he’s hardly even present.

But did you see the last scene? When Danny was eating the burger, shared it with Steve (Danny’s so, man, he keeps trying, always), and then started talking about how nice that soap was (that Steve had gotten so excited about in the beginning and Danny thought was stupid?), Steve latched on to that right away. Like, Danny’s enjoying himself? With something I suggested? And he gets all into it.Wow, your skin is super smooth. Amazing! This is great! Right, Danny? You’re feeling good, we’re enjoying yourselves. This is all I wanted.

Steve wants his Danny to be happy (and not leave him), but can’t seem to deal with the emotions (and fears!) attached to it…

I’m still sad, but Steve makes sense to me like this, and that sort of gives me some peace of mind.

P.S.
If you rewatch, notice in the beginning of the episode how Steve is all controlling (on a mission to fix things/ making sure they’ll have a good time!) and pointing out all the good stuff, and trying to make the best of things even when stuff starts going wrong, and more controlling/I have a plan-follow my lead, and then after he realizes Danny busted his ankle everything changes.

Also if you look at the gifset that originally inspired this post, and see that as the real reason why Steve wanted them to do this (it was about their relationship and reconnecting), notice how that completely changes the reading of the text (episode) and the assumptions one makes based on it.

Time to face the truth

As I watched the scene where Rumple is trying to seduce Regina to kill Marian in the last episode it got me thinking about the redemption arcs debates from long ago. I think it’s clear to say by now that Rumple never changed, and wasn’t going through any redemption procedure what so ever. All he wanted was to please his son and the woman who believe in him when no one did.

As I watched Regina’s face as she was struggling to do the right thing and save Marian’s life, I could really see she is trying to change, but also how the darkness became such a significant part of her during the years. She actually needed to control herself from doing a bad selfish act. I admire her resistance, I imagine it must be hard for her after so long to do the right thing and have her heart crush in the process.

But you know, what I got most from this scene is entirely unrelated to neither Rumple nor Regina but to Hook. As I watched Rumple trying to convince Regina it accrued to me that ever since Hook started to change his ways, we not even once saw him tempted to do an evil selfish act. Unlike Regina it doesn’t seems like evilness is a part of his soul and that he needs to control himself to not act selfishly.

Let’s recall shall we, ever since Hook came back to help Emma save Henry he did a countless number of selfless acts, including telling the Charmings Neal was alive (for those who will claim he did all those things to get closer to Emma, that one was clearly regardless of that).

I know the haters are gonna say about the all thing with Ariel and BB, but I really think it was about Hook hurting without Emma that he would have rather try to go back to the selfish man he once was. We all know how that one worked for him at the end.

It sounds really basic, but I think all that Hook really needed in order to change is to have someone who will give him the chance to do it. Deep inside all along he felt discussed by the man he have become, by the dark road he chose. He needed someone to believe in him, or better say, someone to prove to that he is worthy of being trusted. He tried to do it with baelfire long ago and failed, and now he finally got the chance to do it again with Emma.

In 4x04 we can really see how Hook feels about that man he left behind,

but not even once you see him tempted to let this man stick around. Right before he cuts that horrible deal with Rumple he ended a date with Emma that truly symbolized that he truly won her heart. At that moment she truly trusted him already and if Hook was even a bit tempted to let the dark side of him back, he could have refused to cut the deal with Rumple and deceive Emma into thinking he is a completely changed man. He could have done exactly what Rumple did to Belle for so long.

But the fact is, Hook not only didn’t feel worthy of Emma while he had that hand, he truly didn’t want to be that person anymore. There wasn’t a thing he missed or tempted by and this is unlike Regina who really still struggle to do the right thing. I never once saw Hook struggling in the same way, not even back in Neverland where Pan offered him the deal of leaving the island with Emma. Sure, he knew who Pan was and the manipulations he is doing on people, but he truly wanted to do the right thing and save David.

The truth is that Hook is very different form both Rumple and Regina. You can even see it by the black holes in his heart compared with Regina’s very blacked one (and not that we ever saw Rumple’s heart, but I’m kinda sure it looks like a coal by now).

Sure, he made mistakes in the past, he was selfish and maybe ruthless, but he never had a dark soul or a rotten heart to begin with. I just hate seeing him included at all of those gifsets of the villains of OUAT, I truly don’t think that’s the case here. If it was, we would have seen him constantly struggling against serenading to his dark side, we would have seen a lot less of red in his heart and much more black.

It’s time for people to face the truth about Hook once and for all, if Belle was able to finally do it, why can’t all of us?
