i tried to color this i really did

“Here come sit with me. Selene you were right all along about Kelsey and I tried my hardest not to believe you. I liked her because of her looks, not the more important things. Like personality, and I was wrong for that. The night that we hooked up showed her true colors, not that what we did was right, but it was kind of a blessing in disguise. It made me realize who I really need to be with?”

She looked over at me with wide eyes,

“And who would that be?”

I really hate the generic ¾-facing-left, eyes-to-the-right profiles but it’s so convenient, I can’t help myself.

Hello friend! Although I've been practicing in digital art for almost 3 years, I'm never completely satisfied by the result of my works. I usually never like the coloring. And from what I've seen you have the most unique and beautiful coloring style. So, I wanted to ask you, how did you find it? How did you expirement and settled in this style? Thank you for your time!

!!!! Thank you so much! ;v;

We’ll start with ygo !!  because everything else before that is Dark Past and absolutely terrifying Never Again

early 2015, I used to try doing semirealistic art because artists like jiyu-kaze, artgerm, and sakimichan
the last piece took probably 2 weeks???? it was painful lmao

I used to do the thing where you painted everything in grayscale first and then used a bunch of layer modes to layer colors on top, inspired by this, and it carried over to my tg art. it would take maybe long time to finish anything because I didn’t really know how to use it correctly.

Then my style started off being inspired by sui-zakki  (the author of tg), especially these pieces xx, x

I switched to using base colors after a while and tried to paint the way ishida did. I really liked the way that his art wasn’t exactly smooth?? or that you could still see the edges of each color next to each other… the colors looked really sharp and abstract. You could say this is the start of the style I have right now <:
Along with base colors, I used a lot of lumi & shade layers to add highlights and shadows. My backgrounds were usually a lot softer and sort of random at the time (I think you can see my style improvement best through the way I drew/colored my backgrounds ‘v’ )

Around 2016ish, the colors I used were lighter because I used less lumi & shade and used more on overlay and multiply layers (this is what I do now) or by coloring with only changes in opacity (this was mostly influenced by ammeja). There’s the prominent geometric edges or whatever in my colors because I started using a more square-ish brush for everything and I really liked how it looked when the colors weren’t seamlessly blended together. (the victor in the center was my first yoi fan art, he looks so different now asjdfjgjgjgjf :’> )

I color in a more blocky/geometric style, and instead of painting my pieces and smoothing them out like the ones above, I just stuck with sketches/lineart (this old tg piece is the one that got me to stick to lineart).
My coloring was mainly influenced by barachan, lanxin, and seventypercentethanol, and their pieces like xx, x
yahoberries (I love her art so much you don’t understand) influenced my blue/white outlines as well as the stray blob of colors that I sometimes don’t erase around my art
I really like crystal/gem-looking colors, and having geometric shapes as highlights or shades looked pretty cool too, so that’s how my style happened <3

kagome + cooking + family
I really, really enjoyed this scene from the first movie! It’s so cute watching Kagome cook! And I LOVE the whole familial interaction, especialy when she deters her Grandpa’s hands away from the food haha ♥ Bet she is the cutest housewife in the whole village *cough cough*.

ink-sans-lover  asked:

How long did it take you to design ink? Did you scrap any designs? If so can you show us them?

Well, truth about Ink is something I found out like, two days ago? Is that I actually inspired myself from someone’s OC without realizing it, and I just found their OC again one year later. XD I contacted them and explained the issue and they said it was totally fine. It was a matter of color palette and the pants design, but it’s all cleared up so I’m relieved o/

As for creating the design, well I did go through different phases for Ink but not alot, maybe three. First try was this doodle:

Then the second was the final design, but with a few colors different, unfortunately I don’t have it. But yeah. Usually it really doesn’t take me a lot of tries to design a character because I think them over before drawing them o/

Colony Vs. The Tax Evaders for Freedom and Justice

This fills the tentacle square on my bingo card.
Challenger @rose-on-the-mountain, who is also responsible for the Tax Evaders.

I’m not sure if this will actually fit into the Happy Lights ‘verse, or if it’s just a fun sort of what-if scenario, but I hope you enjoy it!

“They call themselves The Tax Evaders for Freedom and Justice,” Steve explained. He rubbed at the center of his forehead. “They’re registered as a church.”

“That is a joke,” Tony insisted. “There’s no way that is actually not a joke.”

Steve shrugged helplessly. “That’s what the file says. They’ve recruited some B-list villains including… The Kangaroo, Asbestos Lady, and… Flag Smasher?” He was miserable just reading the names and pushed his tablet away so he could put his face in his palm.

“Wow,” Clint said, “You are a massive troll, Cap, but I don’t think even you could troll this hard. Why are we getting called for this one? Isn’t this something that the cops can handle? Or, you know… the local biker gang?”

“We don’t really have anything better to do at the moment,” Steve pointed out, “And it would be a good training exercise for our newest member.”

The colony didn’t quite understand the point of chairs, but it was trying to imitate its human colony members. Several of the larger tentacles were coiled around the empty chair at the briefing table, and the rest were spread out over and around the table to keep limbs wrapped around their humans. It was a small subcolony of only forty-seven members who had come back with ‘Steve Colony’ after their last trip to the colony homeworld, and looked intent on setting up a permanent colony presence.

“Can’t we just sic the IRS on them? I mean…The Church of the Tax Evaders for Freedom and Justice. Really,” Clint persisted.

Think of it like a team building exercise, Tony suggested, and the colony lit up gold at his mental voice. I have new arrows for you to try out.

Sold! Clint agreed.

Sold! the colony repeated, flickering through a quick rainbow of colors, and then asked, Sold?

The colony did not understand currency, and the last time Tony had tried to explain the concepts of buying and selling, they’d ended up in a circular loop of Why? for most of the night. About the only thing the colony had been attracted to during the conversation was Tony unleashing financial ‘logic’ into the colony mindspace. It was a good thing they weren’t interested in using the colony’s understanding of math to their own benefit, because they could just about take over the world with only minimal effort and the colony’s help.

Let’s not start that conversation again, Bruce pleaded. “Asbestos Lady?”

Steve checked the notes. He grimaced, but offered, “Apparently she’s fire-proof?”

“And dying of asbestos poisoning?” Sam guessed. His chair was conspicuously tentacle-free, but he had his head propped up on one fist and was casually petting the magenta tentacle that had wrapped around his water glass, the end periscoped up to eye level and nuzzling against his fingers. It flickered gold and the colony was suffused with a definite sense of smugness at the attention. “Has the colony been cleared to leave the tower?”

“Technically or theoretically?” Tony asked innocently. He was completely bound to his chair by a dozen thick loops and being towed around the table at the colony’s leisure.

Sam hastily held up a hand. “I don’t even want to know. Plausible deniability is a thing.”

how did you learn to edit?

Well, how do you do most things? You try it out, and if you need help with a thing, you look it up and learn that thing. I didn’t really “go learn editing” and then I knew how to edit and proceeded to edit.

I started doing crap that needed to be edited, record little movies and eventually games, so I looked up some editing software and tried editing. And then I probably wanted to, let’s say color correct.. So I looked up how to color correct. And then I maybe wanted to learn how to keyframe things. So I looked up how to keyframe things. And so on.

Everything has to be in stages, I mean JUST editing is fairly self-explanatory.. You put the stuff in the timeline and you cut out the things you don’t want in there. Done. From there, it’s exactly like anything else, like drawing, playing the piano, sewing.. You learn one new thing here, another technique there, a new thing there, etc.

If you go around waiting until you’ve “learned everything” before you start actually doing that thing, whatever it is, you’re never gonna do it. There are LOADS of things in both 3D and editing I have no clue about, and I would love to learn more. But I’m 27 and have been doing 3D and editing just for fun, for like 10+ years, so I would hope I’ve picked up some things along the way :P

Much like Jake the Dog said - “Dude, sucking at something is the first step towards being sorta good at something” :P

Sorry for the delay, this drawing take me so much time to make it, but I think is fine, isn’t? qwq
And well, I’m gonna explain a little bit about my illustration~
In the part of down, I put the start of the history of this character with his universe without name (that’s the reason for why I drew the feets and legs of him like a sketch), in the dark and liquid part I did a reference with this event of the Ink’s history (other reference apart of the darkness, are the legs I drew without your clothes, and well, he shows his bones (?), and finally, from the coffe part and the other colors, it’s a little representation about the zone who live the AU’s.
Maybe this is isn’t the best drawing than probably see Comyet, but I really tried to show her a bit of my art ;u;
So, I hope enjoy this!!!

(sorry for my english :’v)

Word Count: 2,012

Warnings: language, fluff, angst, it’s actually kind of optimistic???

A/N: Well, I did it…at least I tried. The lovely @minervaem challenged me (sort of) to do an angsty story. I’m warning you now, it’s not gonna be pretty.

Reader has her first flash, and stumbles upon some intriguing information…
