i thought dave needed one of these

The New Killers Terminal 5 show and my thoughts; Having been spoiled by 10 years+ of the original four Killers, I’ve come into this new era with many of the same reservations about the band that other friends and victims have voiced.
I need to say strongly, for any of you that value my opinion; The New Killers are a joy for the eyes and ears, and I believe the new tour will be a crowd pleaser. I’ll personally still miss Mark and Dave but must say once the music started last night it never crossed my mind that we were missing anything! It was one of the best shows ever and I never jumped more or sang louder. From the reaction of the crowd both during and after the show, our boys are on top. I’ve never heard the crowd sing louder than they did last night. I’ve heard a few complain about the backup singers being brought into the old original songs. For me they bring much more to the show than they take away and they pulled back and are not heard or seen during many of the original hits. Can’t wait until January and February to see what the full Brandon plan isJ. My recommendation is to go check them out for yourselves; I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I only used this fine pic from last night’s show to get your attention.

Homestuck Camp Counselor AU

• John and Terezi are the camp pranksters, they’re the oldest campers and have been coming to this sleep-away camp for years. They know all the tricks and the administration Hates them bc they’ve never gotten caught. Vriska used to help them but she got kicked out of camp bc one of her pranks went too far Whoops. This year, they’re joined by one Jade Harley, something of a child genius. This is their last year as campers and they want to pull the Ultimate Prank™. Can our unruly trio be stopped before the whole camp gets pranked? It’s up to our motley crew of counselors to put a stop to their dangerous malarkey!! (Actual quote from Jake English)

• Karkat has been going to this camp for years and finally got to come back as a counselor. The other counselor that’s been assigned to his cabin (2 counselors per cabin) is Dave and holyy shit is Karkat pissed at first. He loves all the traditions and hard work and at first glance Dave acts like he’s too good and cool for everything. Turns out, Dave has a crappy home life and He’s just secretly jealous that Karkat had a better childhood and a chance to come to a camp like this. They talk, Karkat listens to Dave vent about his crappy Bro and Dave helps Karkat loosen up and have fun with the kids.

• Kanaya is like Karkat, they’re friends who have been coming here for years and suddenly her new counselor partner is some goth chick named Rose?? Um?? Kanaya is here for friendship bracelets and swimming and Rose just wants the counselors to sneak out to parties. Rose and Dave win and get the gang to sneak out to a party in the next town over in the middle of the night. Rose and Kanaya end up making out the whole time. They make matching friendship bracelets in the color of the lipstick lesbian flag.

• Roxy is a new counselor (I guess all the strilondes are new that’s just how it’s gonna go) and her cabinm8 is some dude who frickin brought his laptop to sleep-away camp like cmon man. Sollux doesn’t want to do any of the outdoor stuff he just wants to play Minecraft or something. Roxy bets him that he has to participate and not use any electronics All Week if she can hack the camp’s records fastest. Sollux laughs at her so hard he has an asthma attack and shakes on it. Sollux is hacking away when Roxy shoves her phone in his face, its his medical records. How are you still alive with That Many Allergies like seriously dude are you okay? Sollux has no electronics for a week. He suffers a terrible withdrawal and then has a lot of fun.

• Jake was sent to be a counselor by his grandmother because he was home schooled all his life and needs to make friends, his counselor partner in crime is the one and only Dirk Strider. Unfortunately, neither of them has ever been around this many people before and also don’t know how to take care of children. Unfortunate combo x2, they are the lucky counselors to get John and Terezi in their cabin! The kids all understand that Jake and Dirk are not in charge and do not listen to them. At one point, the two are duct taped to chairs, back to back like in a hostage situation. They bond over their mutual inability to take charge and also Do Anything.

• Other characters: Jane works in the kitchen, she’s John’s cousin and sneaks him prank supplies from the mess hall. The head counselor is Jack Noir, a no nonsense ex-drill Sargent with a young daughter back at home. He carries a picture of her around with him to remind him to be nice to children. His camp has been plagued by tricksters for years and he wants to put a stop to it. Will the counselors discover the prank-happy campers before they get thrown out? Or will the pranksters elude Justice yet again, their legacy living on in tall tales?

Smells like teen primadonna spirit.

Bit of background. My little brother was in a high school band, and although I was never part of it, I used to drive them around to gigs and occasionally to the studio. I could drive, and if I helped my little brother out, it meant I got to borrow our Mother’s car for a while, so it wasn’t entirely altruistic.

As well as lil bro (guitar), there was also Kev (vocals), Bob (guitar) and Dave (drums).

This was in the late ‘90s, I was about 19-20 during these events, Lil’ Bro is 2 years younger than me. They were a rock/grunge band. Kev was very much the ringleader. His Dad worked for a local radio station at a town about 100 miles away, and Kev would often insist on making decisions for the band because his Dad’s background trumped everything. His Dad was a producer.
Mostly all happy times, although Kev would often pick on Dave, and drummers in general. “What do you call a guy who hangs out with musicians? A drummer.” Etc.

Five Times Spencer Reid Got Relationship Advice, and the One Time He Didn’t Need It (Spencer Reid x Reader)

Request done for @redrookrising who wanted “an imagine about Spencer going around to different members of the BAU, asking them how to ask the reader out” Unbeta’d! Hopefully you guys enjoy it!

“Rossi, can I ask you something?” Spencer said leaning on the doorway of Rossi’s office.

“Come in. Sit.” Rossi said, putting the files down.

“So, you know Y/N, the new girl in IA? The one Kevin brought over last week?”

“Ah, yes. She’s a pretty one.” Dave said, recalling with a smile.

“I know it’s frowned upon by the bureau, but I thought since you didn’t say anything when Garcia and Kevin were together that I’d ask you if you had any advice as to how I should ask her out.”

“You come to me in a time of need,” Rossi said jovially. “Just be yourself. But if it helps, in my time, I’ve learned that women like to be treated. A little wine and dine never hurt. Or if you want to really seal the deal…”

“I do.” Spencer said, surely. He couldn’t stop thinking about Y/N.

“Then take her to the city of love.” He clocked Spencer’s taken aback look, “Kid, I’m telling you, just grab a couple of plane tickets and take her to Paris. Works every time. No one does romance like the French.” Rossi reasoned. Spencer shouldn’t have expected anything less, Dave was known for extravagance. Spencer knew that it wouldn’t work, not that Y/N wasn’t worth it. Flashy just didn’t fit her style.

“I’ll consider it,” Spencer lied. “Thanks, Rossi.”

Celebrity Crush - Part Three

Part One | Part Two | Part Three

Note: It took me so long to finally get this out, but I honestly think it was worth the wait. :) Thanks @adothoe for proofreading. <3

Word Count: 2910

Pairing: Daveed Diggs x Reader

Warnings: nada. just extreme amounts of fluff

The song you wrote with Daveed ended up becoming the first single you released from your album. When you released it just a month after you wrote it, the media went absolutely nuts. People loved the song and it wasn’t long before it became a hit. ‘Good for You’ being in the top charts meant one thing for you and Daveed: you needed to shoot a music video.

Now, this didn’t sound like it was a big deal at first, but the more you thought about it, the bigger deal it was. The song was…more on the sexy side of music than it was to anything else, which meant that your music video would have to mirror that.

You didn’t know what to expect the day of the shoot, but on the way there, you couldn’t help but feel a bit nervous.

“It’s Daveed, Y/N. You know, the guy you’re like– in love with? If I were you, I’d do a sexy music video with him any day.” Your manager told you on the car ride there.

Tonight, the company is putting on an event, and you are the guest of honor. The whole event was to formally offer you the promotion and to celebrate the achievements you’ve made at the company.

Everything in your life feels like it’s falling into place as you sit in the passenger seat, with your supportive boyfriend Rafael driving you to the event. Until the car starts slowing down. Rafa pulls the car over to the side of the road and comes to a stop.

“What just happened?” You ask.

“I ah, think we just ran out of gas” he says with a laugh. “I can’t believe this happened again” he mumbles shaking his head.

“What are we gonna do? We’re still an hour away from this party we need to get there!” You exclaim, panic already setting in.

“Babe relax we’ll get there” he says, placing a hand on your knee.

Relax? How am I supposed to relax? I need to get to that party we’ll never make it now. You think to yourself, crossing your arms over your chest.

“No we won’t! We are stuck in the middle of a quiet road, at night, with no gas and…” you pull your phone out, groaning when you read the no signal sign at the top. “And no cell phone reception!”

I love the idea of Dave and Karkat developing this easy, wordless intimacy, the ability to just stay in and be near each other without having to directly interact to feel connected. I like the thought of the two of them just able to do their own things in and around their own shared space without any pressure to perform or entertain or even be particularly interesting, you know, the way people often feel when there are other people in their home or their proximity.

I like the thought of Dave sprawled across the couch in pajamas he’s been in for three days, headphones in, fiddling with music apps on his phone, sending WIP snippets to John and Rose while Karkat sits across the room at his computer typing up incredulous, impassioned youtube comments on Jake’s latest glowing vlog review for some objectively bad movie, both of them just acting the exact way they would if they were alone because they’re so comfortable in one another’s company that there’s no need to alter their habits or go into “company mode” or even “boyfriend mode,” for that matter.

I like to think that as time goes on their insecurities fade into historical footnotes they can bring up as funny anecdotes, because they’ve reached a place where anxiety over being undeserving of this affection or unworthy of this connection or that the other person fell for a version of them that isn’t genuine and if they let their real self show through they’ll lose them is all long past.

That they progress and surpass that point in a relationship where you find yourself doing things for the other person like an afterthought instead of as a calculated and sometimes exhausting effort to be good enough. Where you let yourself accept your own feelings are real and stop questioning whether theirs are, too. Where when they catch you looking fondly at them from across the room, instead of ducking your head and feeling embarrassed because maybe they just saw you caring more about them than they probably do about you, you just smile and stick your tongue out and just dare them to try and pretend they don’t do the same thing when you’re not looking.

I just love the thought of these two people who never thought they’d ever be good enough to earn real affection from anyone unlearning that assumption so thoroughly through each other that the fear and shame associated with wanting that affection in the first place evaporates completely into a barely remembered emotion that exists for them to laugh at during “remember when” stories, and nothing else.

I want them to live happily ever after for god damn ever, and I want everyone lucky enough to exist in their universe to know their story and never feel foolish or selfish or weak for loving and wanting to be loved in return.

comet thoughts yay!

- Nick Cholski deserves more appreciation! he handed out our pierogies and he is such a sweetheart I almost died. I have a whole new appreciation for Dolokhov now just seeing the production

- sitting on the stage was the best idea ever. I could see everything and interact with the actors. Marya’s dress touched my best friend multiple times.

- Denee (Natasha) is the most adorable human being ever to exist. I am in love (dear, I am in love)

- Charming was amazing live, I would die for Amber Gray multiple times I am very gay

- Speaking of gay the sexual tension between Mary and Natasha during Natasha and the Bolkonskys was so real and I am a firm MaryNat shipper now

- Blaine played Andrey/Bolkonsky today and he was INCREDIBLE! he brings a whole new light to the character

- Bolkonsky’s wig fell off during Private and Intimate Life and I’m not sure if that’s a normal thing that happens but it was hilarious

- I never noticed how much of a total dick Andrey was during Pierre and Andrey but damn! I know he’s heartbroken but I just… I couldn’t.

- Brittain (Sonya) gave me a letter during Letters and I’ll post it later but I think she saw me mouthing along to the song lmao

- Dave Malloy. holy hell. he got at least 5 minutes of applause after Dust and Ashes and he deserved it. Pierre is a poor sad baby and I love him and he needs to be protected my man

anyways tumblr is glitching so this is just part one I have so many more thoughts

Guys, if any of you ever doubt me about how dave strider has effected me in my life. I just want you to know this.

Today while hanging out with some friends, we past by this preteen in the mall, who is oddly yelling something at us. My friends couldnt really make out what they was saying, so we walked past them. But i stg ,i swore i hear them say “dave strider”, so obvs im either going crazy or this random ass kid just looked at us and was screaming about the rap master dave. At this point, two of my friends had to go get water real quick and ki and I see the kiddo who was yelling at us, waving their hands and motioning us to go over to them. The other two come back and we start going over to the kid to see what’s up. Apperently they thought that I looked like dave strider and really needed to tell me. I’m freaking out like hecc, cus none of us had any homestuck merch on. Nothing that says “we read homestuck at one point of my lives”. But somehow??? They freaking k n e w. I stg god guys, I turn red and everyone is asking them questions and shit. You know wanna hang, are you coming to the local con, how do know homestuck.
Now one of us asks them if they have any social media account. Snapchat? Tumblr? Facebook? Nah nah this kid doesn’t have any of them (which is weird af cus this teen looked tumblr, the flower crown, short hair, choker, you know the whole package) oh nono the only thing they have
Is a god damn movie star planet account. Like what the fuck man. Out of all the social media you had to choose you had to pick movie star planet. How in the world did you come in contact with homestuck if all you had was a movie star planet account man??? Like??,
Anywho long story short. They had to leave and they game me their username on the site. Today was fucking rollarcoaster alright and I have so much other cool things to talk about. But today, just frosts the cake okay

So, I had planned to write Captain Charming post that  ep… but instead it’s mostly Killian/Snow  interaction.  I don’t even know.

He’s pacing outside the loft when Snow opens the door.

It startles him for a moment, seeing her rather than Dave.  He knows the two have been trading out, of course, but he’s spent so much time with her husband, that seeing Snow leaves him unsure for a moment.

He hadn’t known what he would say to Dave, those bloody pages burning a hole in his pocket, so now that he’s faced with the man’s wife instead, he’s left utterly speechless.

Snow looks at him for a long moment with those eyes so like Emma’s.  Her purse is draped over her arm, but after a moment of looking at him, she sets it aside and opens her door wider.

              “Come in, Killian.”

“I…” Killian scratches his ear, not knowing what to do.  “You were leaving.  I don’t wish to keep you.”

“It’s not important. Come in, Killian.”

He obeys the order the second time it’s given, and perches on a chair at the counter, watching Snow as she moves around the kitchen. It takes her just minutes to put together some tea, and then she joins him at the counter, placing large mugs in front of them both.

“You’re troubled,” Snow remarks, and it surprises Killian somewhat.  Dave doesn’t tend to notice when he’s troubled so quickly, and Emma would immediately ask what was wrong.  But Snow just watches him and waits

Killian thinks to out wait her, burying his attention in his mug. But her gaze is a heavy weight  on the top of his head as he stares into his mug, and finally, to turn her attention elsewhere, he pulls out the page and tosses them in front of her.

“If you’re worried about making Emma think poorly of her friend, then you shouldn’t. It’s not like you ran off to this-”

“The man in the pages is David’s father.” Killian stares into the tea, even as he cuts Snow off, unable to bear the thought of her trying to make him feel better.  And the words don’t stop at that.  “I killed him.”

Silence again, and he can feel her gaze on him once more.  Killian can’t look up.  Not when he knows that he’ll see disappointment – or worse, hatred – in those eyes so similar to the woman he loves.

              “Does David know?”

It’s the tone that makes Killian’s head jerk up. Because there isn’t anger there, but rather compassion.  It’s a testament, to how very kind Snow is, that her expression is that of empathy.

“We thought it was George.  It would have been George… but I was there.  I should have let him go free, but it would be an irritant, to have a king after me.  So I murdered him, and never thought of him again except…”

He looks at those damning pages, and recalls his own childhood, and that feeling of abandonment – the one that ruins a boy and leaves him ruined into manhood – and it makes him feel ill, to know that it’s his fault that Dave knows that bitter experience as well.

“I didn’t know.  Not until the puppet brought me those pages last night.”

He’d gone through the motions with Emma, and his loving may have been a bit fiercer, because he’d known it might be the last time. He should have told her… but another part of him needed to tell Dave first. And yet another part had needed one last taste of her, before he very likely lost her forever.

Emma Swan wasn’t the type to welcome the murderer of her own family into his bed.

He had left that morning before Emma awoke, and wandered the streets  until the  clock hit an acceptable time and he’d found himself outside the loft..

“And now you’re here,” Snow remarks.  “To tell him.”

He can’t say anything, just nods miserably.  Snow joins him, and runs a hand over his hair.  It’s such a motherly gesture, and Killian has few memories of his mother, so he has to close his eyes lest he embarrass them both with his tears.

“You’re a good man, Killian Jones.” He shudders, and his breath is a sob at Snow’s words.  She hugs him, and he can’t help but hug her back.  “You may not have always been, but you are now. David knows that.  Tell him, and then give him time.”

“Why are you being so kind to me?” he asks her, as she walks away.  She keeps her back to him as she cleans her mug, and Killian is thankful, as it gives him a moment to  wipe away the tears that want to fall. “Dave… this tore him up. And it’s because of me.”

“You’re tearing  yourself up enough for  us both. And maybe  I understand  you a little more than you think.  Despite my name, I’m not entirely without darkness,  Killian.”

He thinks that her darkness is nothing to his,  but then  again, who is he to belittle the pain others carry?

“Will forgive you, because she knows you’ve changed. So will David. You’re here, Killian. You’re telling the truth. That… it counts for a lot.”

Killian swallows and gives the smallest of nods, though he doesn’t quite believe her.  Snow’s expression  says she knows his thoughts, but rather than say anything more, she wipes her hands and heads for the steps.

“I’ll wake David for you… Killian?  Just tell him the truth.  The way you told it to me.  Whatever happens, I believe it will work out in the end.”

Killian says nothing and for a moment he considers fleeing.  But then a heavier tread comes down the steps, and now it’s Dave.

Killian swallows, and lets him read the pages, and decides to do exactly as Snow had suggested.

And perhaps, someday, he’ll regain all he’s sure he’ll lose.

whenever i see anything from the first few acts of homestuck because it makes me so emotional that this is where it all started
with a dork who likes ghostbusters and putting fake arms into cakes
with a mature snarky gothic girl who likes knitting and h.p. lovecraft
with a meta-ironic hipster dude way ahead of his time who makes music and shitty memes
with a simple sleepy pacific islander girl who is friendly, loves gardening, and has an OP dog

this is who we initially knew them as. but as their priorities shifted and shit got more threatening to their lives and existence, we were able to see character arcs and what really affected them all the way to the end. even shit in hindsight that we thought was funny but was revealed to be really sad or more serious

john egbert wanted to be a hacker but was really bad at it. thousands of pages later he’s altering the entire reality of a game to save his friends and session from a decaying timeline.

rose lalonde wasn’t fond of her mother’s drinking habits. years later, she’s acquired a taste for alcohol on the meteor despite not even liking the taste. seeing her mother die at the hands of jack really fucked her up i guess

dave strider always thought his brother was cool but just toying with him. years later he’s sitting with his brother’s alernate universe teen self before their final battle, and finally venting his buildup of realization ever since jack killed him that his bro was abusive and his ‘irony’ was just masking how sick he really was.
dave learned that he didnt always need his cool dude funnyman facade to be likeable

jade harley initially wouldnt hurt a fly and didn’t do much. later she’s one of the most important characters and she’s responsible for saving the essentials from the kids’ first session like the planets, the sprites, and skaia, and responsible for creating the Space Frog. she’s like the one thing the big bad wolf bec noir can’t touch since bec, even prototyped with jack, was still her loyal companion. thats how she ascended to god tier in the first place.
since jade was given the most important responsibilities, she’s grown much more assertive and can get shit done

thats not even the tip of the iceberg when it comes to why i love homestuck so much. i think the fact that it was spanned out over such a long time made the characters mature…in a relatively realistic time span

i know homestuck is long as fuck but thats what makes it so good. this comic is written by one guy. he has massive talent in worldbuilding, characters & development, humor, the meta intelligence and genius planning behind all that paradox time shenanigans, and the fucking devotion. one person. and its just… these fuckin characters are so realistic

got fuckin damn

icel  asked:

heinous pls retell the story of cyclops dave that you told me in voice chat

Ho boy.

SO.  When I actually started to first read Homestuck, I did a few google searchs to try and find some images for something, I can’t even remember what, but one of the related images caught my eye.

It had Karkat and Dave in their sprite art standing next to each other.  Karkat had a concerned face, looking at Dave.  Dave, for whatever reason, only had one lens of his shades on his face, and it was centered in the middle of it.

Now, ordinarily I’d dismiss it as random weird art, but I was right at the part where it said it was apparently Dave’s destiny to defeat Lord English, and so I thought like “Oh, man. Dave is gonna get fucked up in that fight somehow.  Mutated or something by the nature of paradox space.”  And so I assumed Karkat was going to like, care for Dave in his new form, because he would need help, and I assumed there would be effects more than what was visible in just the sprite.

Obviously, I couldn’t have been more off the mark, but when we ended up getting something as great as this:

I’m totally fine being wrong.

We Intertwined: Ch. 10

An Ignis Scientia Story

Chapter 9 | AO3 | Chapter 11
Word Count: 1,684

Ignis jolted awake, cold sweat dotting his brow. He was in an unfamiliar bed, he realized. He glanced around the room. There was no way it was a hospital—he’d become familiar with them throughout his childhood, and the sterility of those hallways always made Ignis uncomfortable.

Instead, he was in a bed that was just too small for the length of his legs. The walls were painted pink, and there were moogle plushies that lined a few shelves. They sat alongside some books that looked to be about the reading level of a young child, just older than a toddler. Ignis recognized a few from his own childhood, staples that his mother had purchased for him and read to him before tucking him in at night.

There were drawings pinned to the walls—some were scribbled in with crayon, some were filled in with broad strokes of paint. The colours were bright and gaudy, with fingerprint smudges throughout. But there was one drawing that was bigger than the rest that caught Ignis’ eye.

It was of two girls, one who was taller with a long, blue braid, and the other who was much smaller with dark hair past her shoulders, holding hands with smiles on their faces.

Ignis was in Clara’s room.

Could you do 76 for the javid prompts? 💕

This one was really fun to write. So I took it to the extreme of doing another really long fic.

Constant Pining is a Constant Annoyance

Davey regretted agreeing to play hide-and-seek with his friends.
It wasn’t that Davey didn’t like playing the game at Kath’s house(when her father was gone). It was that they always insisted on partnering up to hide, making it extremely hard to find a good hiding spot. Of course this wasn’t the only reason. Maybe it was that, no matter what, his partner was always Jack.

Sure Jack was his crush best friend and he was good at finding a good hiding spot, but Jack was so oblivious to the fact that all of their friends tried to get them stuck together long enough to confess their undying love for each other and make out. When Davey asked Sarah why they did this, she said that their ‘constant pining was a constant annoyance’.

Davey was pretty much convinced that all of his friends were idiots, since Davey never pined over Jack Kelly or over anyone else frankly, no matter what Sarah or any of his friends insisted. He couldn’t even say that Jack pined over him or even flirted with him. Sure Jack could sometimes be a little bit intimate with him. Davey did always find himself with Jack’s arm casually thrown around his shoulder or Jack sitting too close to him on the couch- it was something he did with all of his friends.

Jack was straight, anyways, he couldn’t be into Davey like that, anyways.

Sure, Davey was slightly attracted to Jack- but only slightly. Only ever slightly. He wouldn’t let himself fall for his best friend. That was one thing he was for sure of. Maybe, Davey’s heart did flutter a little bit when Jack walked into the room or smiled at him, but that happened to everyone, right?

But no matter Davey’s slight attraction to his best friend, he would never give Spot, Race, or Crutchie the satisfaction of being right, especially not about this.
So when, in the unlikely event that, Jack and Davey decide to hide in a closet, with no lights(or at least lights they could find), that was just the right size for the both of them, Race, Spot, Romeo, and Crutchie discover their hiding place, Davey wasn’t the happiest camper.

Davey, of course, knew that they shouldn’t have hid in the closet, but it was a last resort. Kath and Sarah had stolen their hiding spot, Spot and Race were almost done counting, so they had to hide somewhere fast, and if the king of Brooklyn and his boyfriend found them out in the open, they would never hear the end of it. So Davey spent at least the next few minutes pressed against Jack, trying to remain as quiet as humanly possible.

Then they heard it.

“Found ya!” He felt Jack’s arm tense up against his. Spot and Race had just found someone in the room.

“Dammit, Romeo. I told you we shouldn’t have hid here.” Crutchie, most likely, said.

“It looked good at the time.”

“Whatever, we found you, now, so do you know where Jack and Davey hid?” Davey glanced at Jack, who was biting his lip, while staring through the door. He so badly wanted to kiss Jack, but fought the temptation. Jack wouldn’t appreciate that.

“No, Race, you can’t ask them that. That would be cheating.”

“Well, hypothetically speaking… we may or may not have seen them go in that closet.” Romeo said, swiftly. “Only hypothetically, of course”

“And hypothetically speaking… we could stop the constant pining between the two if we locked them in there together.”

“You guys know that they would be able to hear you, if they were in that closet, right?”

“Well, I can go and check.”

Shit. This couldn’t be happening. Even with no light he could see the faint outline of a key hole below the door handle. They would lock them in here until what? Davey and Jack got together. That wouldn’t be happening.

The door opened, Race’s head emerging and disappearing for a split second, with the light that spilled in from the other room. The door slammed shut and was locked with a Click!.

“They’re in there.”

“And you just locked them in?”

“Well, let’s at least tell them why they’re locked in there together.”

“Hey, Jack, Davey. You aren’t going to come out of that closet, until you both confess your love for the other. We’ll come back and check on you in thirty or so minutes. If you haven’t sorted things out by then, we’ll leave you in there for another thirty minutes.” Spot shouted, through the door.

Davey stood up, trying to push against the door, but it wouldn’t budge.

“I think we’re stuck.” Davey said.

“I know.” He sat down next to Jack, who wasn’t normally this quiet.

“Something wrong?”

“No just thinking.”

Davey nodded, leaving the other boy to his thoughts. This was going to be a long thirty minutes. He himself was pretty certain, that when Spot, Race, Crutchie, and Romeo came back to get Jack and Davey, he would have some words for them. So instead of letting Jack and Davey out of the closet like normal human beings would do, they decided to lock the door. Classic.

“Do you think that they’ll really keep us in here if we don’t get together?” Jack asked, interrupting Davey’s thoughts.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if they did.”

“Wouldn’t Sarah and Kath stop them?”

Davey snorted. Sarah and Kath had expressed many times that both tired of their nonexistent ‘pining’. “No, Sarah’s convinced we’re in love.”

“Yeah. She and Kath probably orchestrated this whole thing together.” Davey said and then added, “I mean sure I’m gay, but none of them seem to understand that you’re not.”

“Well…” Jack admitted, pushing himself up so he could sit more comfortably. I am a little bit gay.”

“What?” Davey asked, turning to Jack. He was almost positive he was losing his hearing, because if he heard Jack correctly - no way could he have heard Jack say that.

”Did you think I was straight this entire time?” Jack raised his eye brow at him, dead serious.

“No. Never have been. Never will be.”

“But you’ve dated girls before.” Davey protested. For some reason, he couldn’t believe that Jack was attracted to men. Maybe it’s because I’m hoping he’s secretly attracted that to me Davey thought.

“I’m bi, Davey. Wasn’t that obvious?”

“You never came out, though.”

“Yeah, I figured everybody knew by now, especially you. Every single day, I flirted with…”

“With who?” Davey asked, curiously. He recollected his memory, but couldn’t think of any instances where he saw Jack flirt with some guy, everyday.

“No one, Davey. Doesn’t matter.” Jack said, standing up. He looked anywhere, but at Davey.

“Well, if it doesn’t matter, why don’t you tell me?” Davey questioned. He was genuinely curious, now. Who could Jack like?

“Dave, I-”

“Jackie, just tell me. I’m your best friend.”

“Fine, as long as you promise not to judge me.” Jack said, looking down at Davey.

“I promise.”

“Okay. Could you uhm- just turn around, while I tell you? I don’t think I can tell you, if you’re looking at me.” Jack asked, nervously.

“Sure, Jack.” Davey tried to turn around to face the wall, but had to stand up. There just wasn’t enough room in the closet.

“Well, Davey I- I- uh….” Jack muttered, stumbling on his words.

“Jack, you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.” Davey said, trying to reassure his friend.

“No, no. Dave, I want to. It’s just… I’ve got to get this off my chest now or I doubt I ever will.”

“Okay, just take your time.”

“Okay…. I- uh… I was- well… I was talking about you earlier.”

Davey felt his mouth go dry and his heart pound just a bit faster. His heart practically screaming at him to turn around and kiss Jack, while his brain ordered him to stay there, silently and think for. Whatever he did next he couldn’t take back. He needed to be certain. He needed to think.

But just the idea made his head spin. Jack Kelly? Attracted to him? No way. Jack had to be joking, right? Davey wanted to believe he would have noticed the-not-so-subtle Jack Kelly flirting with him or was he just that oblivious? Maybe Sarah and them had been right. Maybe there was some tension between the two that needed to be resolved.

“Wait, you mean you’re attracted me?” Davey asked, wanting to make sure he wasn’t going crazy.

“Yeah, Davey I am. I mean, I really sort of love you.”

“Oh…” Davey gasped. He needed some time to fully process the new information he was given.

Jack Kelly loved him. Jack Kelly was not only attracted to him, but loved him also. He wasn’t sure what to think. Sure he was attracted to Jack, but when it came down to it, did Davey love him? Had Davey not been honest with even himself? It was the secret everyone knew, except for the two people who deserved to hear it the most.

“Yeah…” Jack said awkwardly, interrupting Davey’s thoughts. “I- uh- if you don’t want to be friends with me anymore, I under-”

“Jack, what the hell are you talking about? Of course, I still want to be your friend.” Davey said, without hesitation. That was one thing his head and heart could agree upon. Jack Kelly would always be his friend, romantic feelings or not.

“Jack, is it fine if I turn around now?” Davey asked, almost certain.

He turned to see Jack with tears running silently from his eyes. Jack tried to look anywhere but at him. Before he could stop himself, Davey wrapped his arms around the smaller boy.

”Jack, I love you.” Davey said with absolute certainty. Jack grabbed onto him, wrapping his arms around Davey’s back and burying his face into the crook of Davey’s neck. Davey kissed the top of Jack’s head, rubbing Jack’s back.

”Thank you.” Jack whispered, making Davey’s neck tickle.

”You don’t need to say thank you.”

”I was just so afraid, you wouldn’t even want to be my friend anymore.” Jack mumbled, “I thought there was not even one chance that you would like me.”

”I didn’t think you would like me either. It just took me forever to process what you said.” Davey and Jack both laughed.

Jack came out from Davey’s neck, his tears gone. He was staring right into Davey’s eyes. “Would you mind if I kissed you, Dave?”

”Would be an honor.” Davey smiled as Jack brought his hands to caress his cheeks.

“You’re so beautiful,” Jack said, as he pecked Davey’s lips.

“That’s it?” Davey asked, “You’ve got to give me a real kiss.”

“Oh fine,” Jack agreed, laughing a bit. He brought Davey’s face down to his lips, and kissed him, then pulled back for another second.

“I guess constant pining is a constant annoyance, but it does have a pay off.”

”Just shut up and kiss me.” Davey said, giggling.

“Mmmhmmm.” Jack hummed as he kissed Davey, finally.

This time a proper kiss. Davey grinned into the kiss, running his hands through Jack’s hair. The world could have ended in that moment and he would have cared less. The asteroid, that would cause the next mass extinction could have hit earth, he still would have been content. Davey would have died a happy man.

“Finally, you two worked things out.”

Davey pulled away from Jack, once he heard the door open. He turned to see Spot and Race, peering into the closet as the light flooded in.

“Uhhh…” Jack mumbled, awkwardly.

“Do you think you could give us a few more minutes?” Davey asked. Spot closed the door, rolling his eyes. Jack laughed, reaching up to kiss Davey, who happily complied.

Your eyes were blurry with tears as you searched for your brother in the mass of people writhing and grinding on each other to the overwhelmingly loud music. You angrily wiped at the tears that threatened to spill down your cheeks as you shook your head and gave up on the search for Laf.

You’d be fine walking home, right? You still had your brother’s jacket so it wouldn’t be too cold, you reasoned with yourself as you hurried through the front door, eager to get back to your apartment.

You huffed a little at the first blast of cool air, then composed yourself, beginning to walk away from the house. You took in a deep breath, then let it out with a soft sob, wrapping your arms around yourself tighter. You couldn’t describe the turmoil inside yourself.

“Why?” You whispered to yourself. “Not him. Anyone but him.” Holding back the rest of the tears that threatened to escape down your cheeks, you let a stony facade come across your face. You would put the whole thing behind you, maybe find someone else who had rejected their soulmate and learn to love them. Your mind was years away when a hand falling onto your shoulder brought you into the present again. Jerking away from the touch, you immediately began cursing.

“Get the fuck off of me! I have a knife!” You shrieked, then froze, eyes widening. James stood there, looking terrified and amused. “Jem, you know better than to startle me.” You huffed, wrapping your arms around yourself again.

“Are you okay?” He asked softly. You could smell the alcohol on his breath, but the fact that he had come after you made you instantly feel a million times better. Jem opened his arms to you and you melted into his hug, letting yourself break down in his embrace.

“Not really, Jemmy… I just wanna go home.” You murmured, wiping away the tears. “I don’t wanna go back in there, I don’t think I can.” Concern crossed James’ face and he rubbed your back gently.

“Hey, Y/N, we don’t have to go back in there. What happened? Did Thomas try anything? I’ll kick his ass.” James muttered, the sight of you crying making him sober up immediately. You let out a tearful chuckle.

“I just wanna go home. He didn’t do anything this time.” You said, pulling out of James’ embrace. He reluctantly let you go, watching you closely.

“I’ll walk you there.” James said as he pulled off his jacket. He wrapped it around your shoulders, over your brother’s jacket and you laughed a little, thanking him immediately. The warmth and smell of the jacket reminded you of home, and you snuggled further into it, then leaned into your best friend’s side.

The wall back to your apartment was quiet, aside from James trying to cheer you up with a few corny jokes. James deserved an amazing soulmate, you thought to yourself, watching as he began to make some food in the kitchen. Sitting on the counter, wrapped in his jacket, you found yourself wishing, not exactly for the first time, that James was your soulmate.

A sudden thought nagged at you. James had always said that he wanted a soulmate like you, someone who kept up with him intellectually, someone who helped take care of him when he was sick but allowed him a form of self-dependence. James always talked about the things he would do for his soulmate, but he never actually looked for them. Honestly, you had never seen his soul mark.

Sliding off the counter, you silently walked up beside him, a plan forming in your mind. Most marks were on wrists or collarbones, at least that you had seen. You had also seen James shirtless, and it definitely wasn’t on his chest or back. You had never seen his wrist, at least not without his bulky watch on it. You stepped up beside him, resting your head on his arm.

“Jemmy, what time is it?” You asked sweetly, yawning and pretending to be sleepy. When he lifted his wrist to check his watch, you tugged his wrist gently to face you. Before he could do anything, you slid his watch off, gasping. James cursed lowly, snatching the watch back from you.

“Y/N… Wait.” He murmured, his eyes pleading with you. How could he not have told you? Your head spun and you felt dizzy suddenly. You grabbed the edge of the counter, squeezing your eyes shut as his words flowed right over your head. You couldn’t process anything he had just said, too busy wondering how the fuck you had two soulmates. It wasn’t uncommon, but it definitely wasn’t an everyday occurrence.

“We… You and I?” You asked, suddenly seeing him in a new light. Every little thing he had ever done for you came back to you, and you shook your head slowly. James probably didn’t know about Thomas.

“I’ve tried to tell you so many times, but every time I would start to say it, I couldn’t. I wanted to tell you, I promise, I was just scared.” James murmured, keeping his distance. You hated seeing him so upset. After a moment’s hesitation, you moved towards him and wrapped your arms around him.

“It’s okay… James, it’s okay.” You whispered, closing your eyes. You were pissed, yes, but you knew that he would’ve told you in his own time.

“You’re not… You accept me?” The question was soft and so childishly vulnerable that you hugged him tighter. He let his arms slide around you.

“Of course. How could I not?” You whispered back. James let out a relieved sigh. He murmured a soft thanks, tightening his grip on you.

The moment you felt comfortable in his arms, the events of the party came rushing back to you. Thomas. Oh god, James had no clue. You had to tell him, you knew it. You just wanted to enjoy the moment.

“Jemmy?” You asked, looking up at him. He hummed a soft response, meeting your eyes. “You know how I left the party crying?” You glanced away, the raw love in his eyes too much for you to handle in that moment.

“Yeah, what was that about? I meant to ask again, but you were so relaxed that I didn’t want to bring it up.” Jem said, tilting his head at you in confusion.

“Thomas Jefferson has the same mark as m-us.” You whispered, your voice so soft James thought he had heard you wrong.

“Thomas? No, he’s already met his soulmate.” James murmured. You could see the gears turning in his mind, though, and you knew James wouldn’t let the issue go that easily.

“I saw his mark. I was talking to Laf about it and Thomas overheard and he confronted me about it and I… I may have rejected him…” You trailed off, feeling a wave of regret wash over you. You shouldn’t have acted so rashly. You started to pull away from James but he shook his head, keeping you close.

“We can fix this, Y/N.” James told you, rubbing your back gently. He held you close until your breathing slowed and he could tell that you had relaxed. “Now, if it’s not too much trouble, could o stay the night here?” He asked with a soft laugh. A smile creeped its way across your lips and you nodded, pulling away to return to sitting on the counter and pulling James’ jacket close around you.

“Only if you promise to make breakfast in the morning.” You teased, giggling at the thought.

“Deal.” Jem murmured, laughing along with you.

Sitting on the counter, you took a moment to reflect. So, maybe the night hadn’t been as terrible as you thought it originally had been. You had never expected James to be your soulmate, but looking back at your past with him, it made perfect sense. Your next thoughts were about Thomas, and his soulmate, Aaron. You frowned, musing it over. Four. There were four of you. How could you be soulmates with three people when you couldn’t stand one, and had never met another. James you could handle, but Thomas? And Aaron? They were another matter entirely.

One of Those Girls

Here ya go @gingie4life hope you like it!

No one noticed. Mostly because you made sure no one would. Nick always made sure to hit you in places no one would see, at least not until long after the marks were gone. You were usually more careful, but it was hot and you didn’t want to wear the long sleeve in a building that’s AC wasn’t working. You sigh and pull your hair up off of your neck and put it into a high ponytail.
“Hey what happened here?” Hotch asks touching just above your tank top between your shoulder blades. You jump slightly at the contact, even though his finger is soft against the bruise.
“Oh,” you give a forced chuckle, “It’s from sparring. My partner and I got a little carried away.” You lie keeping your attention on the paperwork in front of you.
“Who was your partner?” He asks sounding angry.
“That’s not okay.” You turn toward him and give him a bright smile.
“Hotch I’m fine.”
“Okay.” He says gruffly, and you’re not sure that he’s convinced that you’re actually okay.
You keep catching him looking at you from his office all day. Like he’s checking up on you, and it’s putting you on edge. It’s only when Rossi comes down and gently touches your arm that you realize that they know. The thought terrifies you.
“Hey come to Hotch’s office with me.” He says softly and you balk.
“I’m really busy Dave.”
“This isn’t up for discussion.” He says and you sigh then head to Hotch’s office, Dave following closely behind you.
“What’s going on?” You ask dropping down on the couch in Hotch’s office. This is the couch you sleep on when you’re unable to go home. Dave shuts the door then leans against it with a soft sigh.
“Is Nick hitting you?” Hotch asks cutting directly to the chase and your mouth drops open. Both profilers study you and you drop your head into your hands, this isn’t happening.
“How long?” Rossi asks.
“A few months.” You admit. They know, it’s no use hiding it now.
“Why didn’t you come to us?” Hotch asks quietly, the hurt evident in his voice.
“It’s not something I’m proud of.”
“But it’s us.” Rossi protests, “You can tell us anything.”
“It’s not that simple.” You say, the tears slipping down your cheeks. Hotch seems to realize that you’re crying before Rossi does. He stands from his desk then sinks down onto the couch next to you.
“Tell us.” He mutters wrapping a strong arm around your shoulders.
“It’s not that often. And it’s usually my fault, sometimes I don’t communicate well and he gets worried. He’s scared that something is going to happen to me when I’m gone so he gets stressed and angry when I don’t communicate.” You explain and you’re pretty sure Rossi growls.
“None of this is your fault.” He tells you sounding angry. “He doesn’t deserve you. He doesn’t love you.”
“He-he oh god.” You sputter before bursting into tears. How could you have been so stupid? You feel Rossi sit on your other side and he passes you the hanky he keeps in his pocket. They just let you cry for a few minutes. Hotch holding you closely and Rossi holding your hand.
“How can we help?” Hotch asks.
“Can you bring me home?” He tenses next to you before you can explain. “I need to get some things and if I go alone he’s not going to let me leave without a fight.” Hotch relaxes and nods.
“You can stay at my house.” Rossi says gently, “For as long as you need.”
“Thank you. Both of you.”
“Let’s go get your stuff.” Hotch says giving you a gentle squeeze before letting you go.
The two men keep close to you as you pack up your things. Nick comes home halfway through and is just as furious as you expected him to be. What you didn’t expect was the ferocity that your two friends would defend you with. When Nick takes a swing at Hotch it only takes two hits for Nick to be on the floor and under arrest for assaulting a Federal Agent. Hotch lets Rossi escort him to jail and he brings you to Rossi’s.
“Why didn’t you bring Nick to jail?” You ask as Hotch punches in the gate code.
“I was too pissed.”
“Oh. Thank you Hotch. For everything today. I never thought I’d be one of those girls who needed to be rescued but I’m thankful you and Dave had my back.”
“We’ve always got you. Always.” He says pressing a gentle kiss to your temple.
“Thank you Hotch.” You whisper, “Thank you.”

Why Rebels fans should read the new Thrawn novel

Alright, so I finally finished the book and let me tell you what. I have loved the previous Star Wars books I’ve read (Thrawn Trilogy, Catalyst, A New Dawn, parts of Tarkin) and I have to say - I think Thrawn was my favorite out of all of them.

Not only does our favorite Chiss retain elements from the trilogy and Rebels, but we also see his famous rise through Imperial ranks. Zahn also incorporates two other points of view into the novel - that of Eli Vanto (a great character, and for now it seems a substitute for Captain Pealleon) and Arihnda Pryce, governor of Lothal in the Rebels cartoon.

Though I knew she would show up, I was not expecting the amount of involvement she would have in the activities of the books. So here I go:

Why should Rebels fans read Thrawn?

- SO MANY of the books elements make it into the show (and vice versa)
—For instance
—remember Pryce’s and Sabine’s scuffle?
—well we get to see how and why she decided to take self defense
—remember Thrawn’s dark trooper spars?
—we see him go against a dojo master, and she complements him on the style
—remember how farmers complained about land being secured on Lothal?
—we see why this is occurring and Pryce’s point of view on the subject

-Characters and Cameos from Rebels!
—Admiral Konstantine name drop, along with the 7th fleet. Also…. a little bit of the Ghost crew. Known as “Lothal’s insurgents….”
—Minister Tua Cameo!!!!!
—Grand Moff Tarkin
—Skystrike Academy
—Wookies, anyone?
—Anakin Skywalker name drop (more times than I would have first thought)
—and more I’m probably not remembering

—(SW show voice) And much, much more!
-Why Thrawn is here doing what he is doing
-Eli Vanto is too good for this world
-really he needs a cameo in Rebels
-please Dave I’m serious
-Pryce’s social life
-Pryce’s life before the Empire
-Pryce’s life in general
-Lothal social life
-Lothal teenagers doing stupid teenager things
-Where Was Pryce During Season One And Two™
-Where Was Thrawn During Season One And Two™

If anyone wants to add to this, please do! I’ll probably read this in more detail later and make a more detailed post as I go.

So - go read it!
