Deamus! and "I don't think I've ever played spin the bottle."
99. “I don’t think I’ve ever played spin the bottle.”
“Okay, what now?” Seamus asked, settling down on the couch next to Dean, who immediately looped his arm over Seamus’ shoulders. “Because I am not losing at Twister to Luna again.”
“Oh, I thought Twister was quite fun,” said Luna from her spot on the floor. Ginny snickered.
“That’s because you’re a freaking contortionist, Lovegood,” she said affectionately.
“Yeah. I thought Hermione was flexible.”
“What? I didn’t mean it like that!” Ron protested, but added in a stage whisper to Harry, “It is how I know though.”
“Didn’t need to hear that,” Harry responded. Hermione punched Ron in the shoulder.
“What about spin the bottle?” Neville suggested.
“Neville, do I need to remind you that my brother is here?” Ginny said with a dramatic shudder.
“Aw, c’mon Gin! You love spin the bottle. If it lands on Ron you can just give him a peck on the cheek or something.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever played spin the bottle,” Dean said thoughtfully, taking another swig of Butterbeer. Seamus looked over at his boyfriend.
“Never played–? Well that settles it, we’re definitely doing spin the bottle next. Finish your drink.”
Dean finished his drink to chants of ‘chug!’ lead by Ron. “Right, now what?” he asked.
“In a circle everybody!” said Luna. They all moved onto the floor.
“Okay, who wants to go first?”
“Dibs!” Ginny cried, grabbing the empty bottle from Dean’s hand. She put it down in the middle of the circle and spun with gusto.
It of course landed on Ron.
“I hate this game,” Ginny muttered, reluctantly leaning over and giving Ron a chaste kiss on the cheek.
“Love you too, sis.”
They continued playing. Hermione went next and it landed on Neville, so the two shared a fairly tame kiss that Neville still apologized to Ron for. The most entertaining kiss by far was when Harry spun and it landed on Ron (”Do you think we can come back from this, mate?” “I’m not sure we can, Ron.”), although the hottest kiss occurred when Ginny got paired with Luna (Seamus had a sneaking suspicion a future three-way with Harry wasn’t out of the question).
Finally, it was Dean’s turn. By this point he understood how the game worked, so he reached down and spun the bottle. Seamus watched the bottle spin round and round until it finally came to rest on him.
“Cheat!” Ron cried. “I don’t know how you did it, but you clearly cheated.” Hermione shushed him.
Dean turned to Seamus with a grin. “Guess it’s you and me, Shay.”
“Seems like it, D.”
“Are you sure you’re okay with this? I wouldn’t want you to feel uncomfortable,” Dean teased. Seamus grinned.
“I’m sure I’ll manage. I just hope we can still be friends after this.”
“Oh for Godric’s sake, you two!” Ginny exclaimed, rolling her eyes. “You’ve done this a million times, just get on with it!”
Seamus and Dean were both still smiling when they leaned in for the kiss.
“Alright alright, that’s enough,” said Neville before the two of them could get too carried away. “Seamus, your turn.”
Seamus pulled away from Dean and leaned forward to spin the bottle. They watched it make five revolutions before it landed on Dean.
If there was a table in the room, Ron probably would have flipped it.
