kirasnapeaddict replied to your post: “With a stab of horror, Harry saw Moody point at the Marauder’s Map,…”

@wilczawisnia also good points, it is of course the fake Moodys interest to make others look suspicious instead of himself…. About the nightshirt, yes, of course even Snape sleeps sometimes…but I wonder if thats a hint of any kind. – yeah- the relationship between Albus and Severus is definitely difficult maybe esp after PoA when Albus ignored Snape regarding to hire Remus…and its the first time there is a real DA expert instead of only Snape….

When it come to the nightshirt, I don’t think it is. There are, however, other hints in this chapter, like Severus’ unwillingness to tell “Moody” that somebody broke into his office or that funny moment when “Moody” asks about Severus’ having “Potter’s best interest at heart”. And there are hidden things, of course, like the Map.

I’m afraid that Severus’ doubt where Remus was involved weren’t exactly most rationally presented. And whereas even Remus admitted that Severus had been right about him a way [I convinced myself that Sirius was getting into the school using Dark Arts he learnt from Voldemort, that being an Animagus had nothing to do with it… so, in a way, Snape’s been right about me all along (POA, chapter 18], well… it’s not like Severus could have produced more material evidence back then.

I would say that Remus is actually an expert in his area, which apparently focuses on dealing with dark creatures. This also seems to be a valid part of DADA after all. “Moody” on the other hand poses as an expert in more spell related area, which may appear as something more defence related. However, the both men taught about ways of protecting oneself from something Dark. I suppose that just as the Dark Arts are quite a wide area of… knowledge, the same holds true about the defence against them.
