“You sure you’re not in any pain Peter? I can always go get the nurse if you want,” your voice filled with worry as your best friend was getting prepped for his cast for his broken arm.

“No, I’m fine (Y/N), I can feel it working. My arm doesn’t even hurt that much,” trying to calm you down.

“You sure?” still wanting to make sure he was ok.

Peter nodded, squeezing your hand slowly calming you down. You both waited till the nurse would roll you into the room where they would take x rays and apply his cast.

“Are you sure you don’t want Aunt May in here instead?” your hand interlacing with his.

“No, don’t think she would be able to handle this,” trying his hardest to not show how much of an effect your touch was having on him.

Peter was starting to think that maybe Ned would have been a better choice, because he couldn’t he wasn’t sure he could trust himself once the anesthesia kicks in. He’s seen the videos of people admitting some personal secrets, and last thing he wanted was to admit his love for you, since he wasn’t sure it would cause problems between you two.

You and Peter had been best friends since 6th grade, somewhere along the way you had stolen his heart, but this point he would have willingly given it to you. Simple touches made his face heat up, warm smiles made his breath stop; you holding his hand made his heart explode, everything about you just sent his body on overdrive.

“Thanks (y/n),” you don’t know how much you mean to me. That’s what he wanted to admit but he doubted that he ever could, because he would be sure to get tongue tied in the process.

“I’d do anything for you Peter,” your smile lightening up your face that instantly made his heart pound against his chest.

It had to be illegal to be that adorable, and what’s worse is you had no clue how much of an effect you had on him. He could hear Ned’s voice in the back of his head, telling him to admit his feelings for you. He would always refuse stating that he needed to find the right moment to tell you.

“(y/n), there’s something that I should tell you…,” feeling like this was the best moment to tell you.

You nodded, seeing a slight change in his attitude.

“I-”

I may regret voicing this into the Tumblr void, but this thought has been rolling around in my head since I saw the first criticism of Tom Holland’s performance on LSB yesterday. And now I’ve seen it said a few more times and I just gotta express something. I’ve seen some people saying they don’t think his performance was that great because it wasn’t really that great of a drag performance. I would be inclined to agree, IF he had actually been doing a drag performance.

He was doing something different and far more rare for TV. And that’s being incredibly sexy but also incredibly masculine in an outfit and arena that is traditionally very not masculine. Drag is about a play between femininity and power, but not masculinity. With the exception of a few moves in his performance, most of tom’s body language was still very much male. In that way i don’t feel it was a drag performance. At the same time Tom did all that without making it a joke, or a parody, or using self-effacement, or “throwing a wink” at the audience (as in, saying to the audience “hey everybody isn’t this funny, i’m dressed like a woman!”). His performance was genuinely sexy AND completely casual about ignoring the boundaries between gender roles. Casual to the point of being nearly oblivious, which is the exact opposite of drag in fact, where the siege of those boundaries is highlighted and amplified to 1000.

It is just this, the casual dismissal of the shock that typically has accompanied the infringement of gender roles that made this special. And THAT ladies and gentlemen is something we’ve only recently ever seen on tv ever in our culture.

Everyone in college, going to college, or wants to go to college someday: I'm a graduating senior, and I have one favor to ask of you.

Go to more talks.

In your field, far out of your field go to as many talks as you can.

Sometimes you’ll have good excuses. I know I did. I’m not going to skip classes that I’m paying for, and I can’t miss lab meeting because something cool popped up Thursday at 4. I know you can’t either - I get that.

Sometimes I had /okay/ excuses. I have to study for orgo one more hour. I want to relax tomorrow, so I’ll do more work tonight. It happens.

Sometimes I had garbage excuses. I’m tired. The Bachelor is on. I’m playing on my phone, so time slipped away from me, and now I’m actually going to do work.

PLEASE go to talks. Learn from people doing what you want to do. Learn from people who have a career you didn’t know existed. Learn from physicists, sociologists, activists, grad students, Nobel laureates, your peers.

I’ve never regretted going to a talk. I had no clue what was going on sometimes, sure. But not ONCE have i left the room thinking “What a waste of time.” You know what is a waste of time? Playing on your phone til time slips away.

This is my biggest regret as I approach graduation. So here’s my request of you: please go to talks. For me. And when you realize it’s wonderful, engaging, challenging, and rewarding, please do it for you.

I GOT THE GIRL [FRED WEASLEY]

request: “Hi! Can you write a Fred Weasley x Ravenclaw!Reader imagine? The reader is a bookworm, and is often found in the library. She and Fred are almost complete opposites. Fred is intrigued by the "different” girl you can say and they start hanging out. Introducing each other to their life, with things the other would never do. Ends with a cute passionate kiss?“ — by @my-unique-mind

a/n: added a little twist to it. hope you don’t mind :-) also, i got carried away with this one so it is quite long 😂

Masterlist + Request here!

On the course of your stay in Hogwarts, the only conversations you would share with Fred Weasley were just mere hellos and greetings. Whenever the seat beside you wasn’t taken yet in some class, he would ask if it was okay to sit beside you, and you would glance at him before nodding, minding your own business starting then.

Though other than that, the both of you never bothered to approach the other in attempt to get to know them better. It has been always like that for the past years — so for him to suddenly ask you a very important favor, it was quite unbelievable.

It was a Saturday morning that time and you were spending your day inside the library as usual. In front of you was one clear parchment, a book needed for Transfiguration, and a bottle of ink that you had. You were just about to write the first sentence of your essay when someone abruptly sat down across you.

It was Fred, with his red hair and goofy smile. You raised your eyebrow in question and slowly brought your quill down, waiting for the boy before you to say something that would explain why he was here.

"Good day, isn’t it?” he started, his head turning around as if to look at his surroundings. ‘The sun’s not shining too bright, the wind’s pace is just right, and it’s not that cloudy.“

"Is there something I can help you with?” you asked with your eyebrow still raised.

Fred flickered his eyes to you. “I’m glad you asked, Y/N, because there is this one tinsy little problem I’m dealing with and I know you can help me figure it out.” there was mischief in the way he spoke those words, which made you kind of uneasy.

“Oh, is it regarding about that Transfiguration assignment Professor McGonagall gave us 'cause I’m doing it right now —”

“Y/N,” he politely cut you off that made you stop talking, “that’s not it.”

You involuntarily blush. “Then what is it?”

Fred leaned on the table, prompting his elbows and placing his chin on top. “I knew it was a good choice to pick you, Y/N. I had a hard time convincing George that you’re the perfect accomplice —”

“Woah, what?” it was your turn to you cut him off. “You lost me at accomplice.”

“Well, you see,” Fred licked his lips, “we need a book from the restricted section of the library. Of course, no teacher with the right mind would let me or my brother get it, so I thought since you’re always in the library so much, not to mention you’re a Ravenclaw, you would be the one to do it for us.”

“You must be out of your mind.” You scoffed. “What makes you think I’ll do that for you?”

“Because,” Fred trailed, “I’m such a good person and I make other people happy?”

You couldn’t help but snort at his reason.

"Oh, come on, Y/N! I promise, this will the first and last favor I’ll be asking you if you agree to help.“

The two of you stared at each other for what seemed like minutes before you finally broke free and groaned.

    "Fine, I’ll do it.”

Fred fist pumped in the air that made Madam Pince to suddenly appear and hiss at him.

“But you need to do something in return. Anything, so that I’ll feel I’m not doing this for free.” you chuckled lightly.

He nodded in understanding. “Okay,” he shrugged, “how about I do a poem? You’re into those kind of stuff, right?”

“Well, yeah …” you blushed again for whatever reason.

“Then it’s settled then. You help us get the book and I’ll do a poem. Deal?” he extended a hand out and you didn’t hesitate to grasp it with your own, shaking it.

    “Deal.”

You indeed had done what you had to do. After Fred and George talked to you and gave you the title of the book that they needed, you immediately made up an excuse as you ask the head of your house, Professor Flitwick, to sign the slip that allowed you to get the book from the restricted section of the library.

The whole plan seemed too easy, because the teacher didn’t even question you or grew suspicious on why you needed the book. And now, you were patiently waiting inside the cosy atmosphere of the Three Broomsticks, your eyes glued on the door, ready to finalize your deal with the Weasley twins.

Though Fred was the only one who came, even panting as he sits down beside you. You couldn’t help but glance at him oddly but still a smile was playing on your lips.

“Sorry,” he sighed while he takes off his coat and hangs it on the chair he was sitting on, “had to get away from George. I didn’t want him to come.”

“Why?” you slowly brought out the book from your bag.

Fred smirked at you, “Because I wouldn’t want him hearing my poem, obviously. He wouldn’t let it go if he heard it, will keep on teasing me for an eternity if he did.” he murmured mostly to himself.

You almost forgotten about the poem and with the mention of it, you raised your eyebrows in curiosity. “Well, now that you mentioned it, read it to me.”

For the first time, you saw his cheeks turn into a shade of pink as he softly stutters. “Uh, r-right now?” he cleared his throat.

“Not necessarily, but if you want to have this book —”

“Okay,” he pouted, “I get it, I get it. Just let me …” he rummaged through his bag and got a notepad with written notes on it, though before you could take a peak, he blocked it away from your view with his hand. “Hey! I’m going to read it to you anyway so why bother?”

“I’m just curious, jeez.” You chuckled. “You know, I’m very interested in what you have prepared. It’s always been in my bucket list to get you to do something completely out of your character.”

“Oh, I’m sure it is.” he snorted with a grin. “Uh, so, before I begin, I’m just gonna ask you not to laugh, okay? I admit it’s not my best work but … it’s what I wanted the poem to be about.” the color red was creeping on his cheeks again.

    You smiled. “I promise.”

He dramatically cleared his throat, turning sideways so he was completely facing you.

“The way she speaks can lure me to sleep
the way she smiles can change my cold feet
the way she reads can send thousands of thoughts
like why only now did I notice she smelled like apricots?”

He stops momentarily to look at you and sees you laughing silently which draws him to continue.

I can never really explain why I started feeling so differently
when she has always been there, always been pretty.
and maybe that is why I decided to make a plan
something that will give my chance a hand.

It amuses me how she doesn’t notice
like for the first time, she didn’t know how to focus
but how can she not, that’s not her flaw
After all, she is a Ravenclaw.”

Your eyes widened at that mere line and you could hear Fred taking a gulp before carrying on like nothing happened.

“So this time, as I read this poem to you
please tell me you understand it like you always do
keep in mind that out of all the pranks I’ve done, all of the shows
you rejecting me at this very moment terrifies me the most.”

Fred closed the notepad and immediately turned away from you, folding his hands on the table. “Done.” he stated with his lips pursed together, not bringing himself to see your reaction after just confessing that he indeed fancied you.

“That was … beautiful. You might actually beat Edgar Allan Poe if you pursued writing.” you tried to catch his eye but he wouldn’t budge. “Fred, please do look at me.”

“No.” he answered immediately. “I-I had some time thinking about this and now that I’ve done it, I think I regretted doing it.” he spoke very fast.

It seemed cruel, but you enjoyed seeing him all frantic and shy — because in your defense, it wasn’t everyday you would see Fred Weasley behaving this way. He was mostly so confident with his brother, the complete opposite of what he was showing you right now, and it made you reach out and place a hand over his.

“Would it make you feel better if I told you I felt the same way?” You couldn’t help but tease, causing him to finally look at you.

“Not funny, Y/N. You’re completely messing with my emotions and do you know how many times I’ve thought about telling you about this and now you’re —”

You rolled your eyes, leaning in and pressing your lips onto his just to make him shut up, and also maybe because you’ve been meaning to do it for a long time now. It definitely did the trick though because Fred caught on and began to kiss you back, his hand soon resting on your cheek while his other one still intertwined with yours. When the both of you let go, Fred’s eyes looked like they were twinkling from delight.

“What is it?” you asked, a goofy smile plastered on your mouth as well.

“Nothing, I just — my brother and I didn’t really need the book, it was the plan I’ve been talking about in my poem, to give my chance a hand.” he repeated.

“Wow.” you playfully slapped his arm with the borrowed book. “So meaning to say, all my efforts were put into nothing?”

“Well, it did make you a rebel even a little bit, didn’t it?” he grinned. “And it did help this thing going on between us to evolve as well.”

You pulled on your best confused face. “What thing?”

“Hardy har har.” he sarcastically laughed and pulled you in for another passionate kiss, your laugh audible in between as you place your arm around his neck.

Before the two of you could even decided to finally break free — realizing that you were still inside the Three Broomsticks — George Weasley came waltzing inside the pub and did a very loud gasp, enough to catch the attention of the other students to him.

“I can’t believe it. It actually worked!”

Fred groaned and turned to his brother who was now grinning like mad. “Shut up and go away, George.”

But George was already fist bumping him, and despite Fred getting annoyed, he couldn’t help but put on a cocky and bragging grin on his face as he did so because finally, he got the girl.

anonymous asked:

I don't see why she had to cheat to know she loves Nicole tho, I actually agree with the fact it was good they not didn't like it and regretted it after but it wasn't needed at all, especially with Waverly saying before she made a mistake by texting Nicole that

I think it was needed. The scene demanded it. (And no, I don’t say that because I’m savage I say it as a drama student.) Let me show you:

Imagine the hot tub scene, alright, with Waves drunk-texting Nicole mean things and then Rosita trying to calm her down and talking about Champagne and the bubbles. Now imagine Waverly didn’t kiss Rosita. There would’ve been a tension. A tension where Waverly felt attracted to Rosita but didn’t act on it. It would’ve ended up as a “what if” moment - in this case a “what if I had kissed Rosita?” moment. Unfinised business, you see.
The fact that Waves did kiss Rosita not only eliminated the tension and prevented a “what if” moment but it brought her closer to Nicole and moved Rosita inevitably in the friend-zone.

Frankly, I think it’s a good thing. And it made for some nice drama between WayHaught but shifted a big part of blame from Nicole over to Waverly, so we get to see how Officer Haught reacts when she is truely wronged.

If you are a studyblr,

1. It’s okay to date. Stay focused on your studies, but if you like someone ask them out!

2. It’s okay to be stressed. I can’t think of a moment when I’m actually not stressed out.

3. You don’t need pretty stationery and you don’t need to highlight your notes. Find out what works best for you and stick to that.

4. Socialize. Go out. Have fun.

5. Procrastination is normal, all-nighters are normal, not following your planner (or not even having one) is normal too.

6. Don’t forget about your interests. You’ll regret now following your hobbies later, trust me because I am now. I spent two years of high school focusing only on studies and now I wish to go back and paint all I want, read all I want, write all I want and learn a billion more songs on the piano.

7. Relax. It’s going to be okay.

Every Single Companion Condemns Anders for the Chantry Explosion
  • Alistair: “You... You killed all of those people! All of those women and children, and Priests and Templars who were just there to guard some finger bones! And now what? You’re going to watch a bunch of other mages take the blame for it and get slaughtered? Do you really think you’re making anyone’s life better by doing that? No, don’t answer that. It’s time for you to just die.”
  • Loghain: “Funny. I’ve just watched you murder all those innocents, and I don’t even hate you. Outrage is a luxury for younger men, I suppose. I actually think I understand you. I know what it is to try so hard to protect something that you destroy it without even noticing. I’m doing you a favor, right now, as a young hero once did me a favor. I regret merely that I can’t do it as kindly as it was done to me; you do have to die.”
  • Oghren: “I knew I never trusted you. Squirrelly little mage. The Commander should’a given you to the Templars! I’ve done some messed up things in my life, aye, but I’ve never bombed a bunch of orphans! Killin’s all I know how to do, but ‘least when I kill you, I’ll know it’s the right thing to do.”
  • Shale: “I find it hard to be upset about the deaths of a few hundred humans. Humans are always dying; perhaps they should stop making you all so squishy. It will squish nicely, though, I think. I understand that it has done this in order to unleash even more mages upon society. Decent mages exist, but only a small quantity, as I think it has just proved. No, best to squish it, and its little revolution, and call it a day.”
  • Sten: “I must thank you. During my time in the south, I have met mages who lead honorable lives despite their lack of faith in the Qun. Never before have I met such an obvious example of why the Prophet Koslun demanded additional submission from the saarabas. Your kind are dangerous, and when I return to Par Vollen, I will tell the Arvaarad of what you have done, and they will tell the saarabas, so that the saarabas might better understand the weight of and the need for their sacrifice. Know then, that your death will inspire young saarabas to choose glory under the Qun rather than misery and death in their doubt. This is more comfort in your final moments than you deserve, but I offer it, regardless.”
  • Leliana: “Grand Cleric Elthina? But Justinia spoke so highly of her! Why would you do this?! You are a Grey Warden, sworn to abstain from politics. You do not even live in a Circle anymore! Everything Most Holy has done--everything Cassandra and I have done--to keep this under control... You just... blew it all up! And there is only one way to mitigate the damage. You have to die.”
  • Zevran: “Ah... Far be it from me to make a moral argument against murder, but this seems a tad artless. Perhaps even tactless. How do you know who was in or around that building at the time, or who might even now be burning to death in one of the resulting fires or trapped under a Darktown landslide, where she will die a slow, agonizing death while awaiting a rescue that will never come? You don’t know, of course. You couldn’t. Which makes this... rather less of an assassination and more of an indiscriminate slaughter, something that even the Crows did not allow. As you die, remember that you have fewer morals than the Antivan Crows.”
  • Morrigan: “How utterly pathetic. You had many opportunities to strike at your real enemy, but instead you struck at an impotent old woman, like a coward. And now you expect these Circle mages to fight your battle for you, in your name, as if what you’ve done is a rallying cry rather than a death sentence? Hmph. I will live to see the Circles fall. You, however, shall not.”
  • Wynne: “I remember you. The boy with such a talent for healing, who squandered what could have been a bright future in the Circle out of spite. We used to feel sorry for you, you know. Irving in particular always tried to be so gentle with you. I hope you realize that what you’ve done will weigh on more consciences than yours. The least I can do is make sure Thedas knows that the Circle that produced you also stopped you.”
  • Aveline: “Don’t! Whatever it is you were going to say, just don’t. There is no justification for this that could ever make it okay. I should have turned you in years ago. I didn’t, because the refugees needed you and because I was trying to be a good guard captain for the mages. Unfortunately, I’m not the one that paid for that mistake. The least I owe your victims now is justice. You’ll die for this.”
  • Carver: “Are you insane?! You can’t possibly think that helped?! Grand Cleric Elthina wasn’t the bad guy! I’m not even sure there *is* just one bad guy, but I know it wasn’t her. She was one of the few who just wanted to help. Everyone. And now she’s gone, and that’s exactly what you wanted. You don’t know as much as you think you do about Templars, Anders. Sometimes, I wonder how much you really know about mages. But it doesn’t matter now, because my duty is clear. You have to die for this.”
  • Fenris: “There is nothing to say. Death is the only thing left for you.”
  • Isabela: “I... Look... Shit, Anders, what were you thinking? We’ve talked about this before: about justice, and all that bollocks. You hurt innocent people, so now they deserve justice. I’m probably the last person who should be doling out justice, but here we are. I just hope you think this was worth your death. And theirs.”
  • Varric: “Oh, Blondie... It didn’t have to be like this. You killed innocent people, and destroyed who knows how many other lives. You’re not the man I thought you were. I guess that makes what I have to do next a little bit easier...”
  • Sebastian: “Your death will never be enough, but it’s a start.”
  • Bethany: “How could you do this?! The Circle never wanted this to come to all-out war, with so many innocent people dead and an army of Templars descending upon us! This wasn’t your decision to make. If you wanted to help, you should have TALKED to Orsino, and--You know what, forget it? You didn’t want to help, did you? Not the mages of Kirkwall, anyway. It makes for a better narrative if the largest Circle in the Free Marches is slaughtered, sacrificed for your narrative. I can’t let you do that; not to the Kirkwall Cirlce, and not to anyone else. This ends here, Anders. I’m only sorry it has to end like this; we could have worked together and found a non-violent solution, if only you’d reached out.”
  • Merrill: “Anders, you know there were people in that Chantry, right? That doesn’t sound like justice to me. And if it was vengeance, it wasn’t very good vengeance, since it hardly killed any Templars, and killed a lot of people that weren’t Templars! I’m sorry, Anders, but that spirit of yours is out of control. I can’t let you do this anymore.”
  • Blackwall: “Huh. Dare I even ask what your justification for this was? No. I don’t. All murders have their justifications. One day you wake up and realize that it was all just lies you told yourself so you could sleep at night. Maybe you really do think you’re helping; that lives have so little value that they can just be sacrificed to some greater cause. Maybe it’s a mercy for me to kill you before you can realize the truth.”
  • Cassandra: “The situation in Kirkwall has been out of control for some time, but your actions will only serve to make everything worse! The suffering of innocents has gone on for too long! All who fight against peace must be stopped!”
  • Iron Bull: “You know what I really came to hate during my time in Seheron? ASSHOLES WHO BLOW UP BUILDINGS FULL OF CIVILIANS! I don’t care if you’re Tal-Vashoth, Fog Warrior, Vint, or whatever the Hell you are, if you do that, you’re an asshole, and when I meet assholes, I kill them.”
  • Sera: “Oi, mage-tit, do. you know how many innocent people you just killed for your stupid war?! If you wanted to attack the Knight-Commander, you should have just attacked the Knight-Commander. Stupid! This is why no one trusts mages. ARROW TO THE FACE.”
  • Cole: “I used to think that I could free mages with death. When they’re dead, you don’t hear the pain anymore. Sometimes the silence is worse, though. It’s silent in the Chantry but the rest of the city is screaming. You’re screaming too. It won’t stop when I kill you, but it will be quieter. Better.”
  • Dorian: “Hm. A bit of fire, grandiose speeches, and a mage sacrificing people for his own political agenda. This feels downright homey. I detest when the south feels homey. You know, it’s times like this that I wonder: Is it true that if you give mages an inch, we’ll take a mile? Is my homeland the inevitable consequence of mage freedom? I don’t want to believe that. There has to be a way for mages and non-mages to coexist as equals. But as long as men like you are about, we’re not going to find it, so I know what I have to do.”
  • Vivienne: “Shall I even bother to point out the irony of you using magical talents you honed at the Circle to bring about their downfall, or would that go over your head, just as the fact that your actions here tonight will only serve to turn the people of Thedas against mages did? There were abuses in this Circle, certainly, but only an idiot or an Abomination would think that the solution was to murder innocents and provoke a slaughter. Whichever you are, you are a danger to others, and the people *will* see a mage put you down.”
  • Solas: “An interesting way of achieving justice. You look at a world where the Chantry violently oppresses mages, and decide to give it even more ammunition. I know much of rebellion. A good one takes years to plan, and starts not with an explosion but with a ripple. All you’ve done is throw unprepared mages throughout Thedas on the scant mercy of angry mobs. Perhaps you meant well, but that hardly changes the fact that the mages are better off without you.”
  • Cullen: “Maker help me. I never wanted to see the Kirkwall Circle annulled, and now you’ve guaranteed it by pushing this conflict to its breaking point. Perhaps the Knight-Commander was wrong--IS wrong--but so are you, and I must stop you in order to have any chance of stopping her.”
  • Josephine: “All that innocent life, destroyed for a war that most of them had nothing to do with... I do not enjoy being in this position, but I cannot stand by and let the slaughter of innocents go unpunished. You, Anders, have to pay for your crimes.”
Steam Sale Recommendations

Here are some of my personal favs from the steam sale! I’ll put them in categories of Up to ~5$, up to 10$, and above 10$

Up to ~5$

Single player Don’t Starve (no add-ons) is currently 3.74! I’d buy at least Reign of Giants expansion, but if you’re on the cheap and want a great survival game, you can’t go wrong here. The rest of the prices are here too, if you so like.

Next, we’ve got Transistor! I threw Abzu in there too because it technically goes over 5 dollars, but it’s a steal at 70% off. I haven’t played transistor, but I’m buying it due to copious amounts of good reviews I’ve heard about it from friends and critics alike. Plus, at that price?!

Psychonauts, an all time classic, coming in at 99 cents. I played this back on the Xbox, but it’s not just my nostalgia telling you it’s a masterpiece. It’s a no brainer. ehehehehehehe

Portal 1 AND 2 over here for hardly over 2 bucks. Can’t go wrong. Instant classics. Fun times to be had. Do it. Do it for me.

This could probably actually go on forever so let’s get going to the higher numbers

Up to ~10$

Starbound is a classic survival/crafting game, and it’s pretty poor-system friendly from what I’ve heard. It’s only 10 dollars now! i’ve sunk 80 hours into this game, and I don’t even *love* it, I just really like it. So I think you’re getting your money’s worth here.

Hollow Knight, my favorite Indie game of this year, so far, over here at hardly 10 bucks. Get it, you won’t regret it. Best metroidvania in years.

Furi is an incredibly difficult but rewarding Hack-n-slash mixed with a Bullet Hell boss rush type game with incredible aesthetics and utterly amazing soundtrack that is slightly diminished by the crippling difficulty that I really didn’t stress enough. Well, it’s not the hardest game ever, but it’s challenging by modern standards. I’ve died on every boss since the second one. I consider myself decent at video games. take that as you will.

My GOTY last year over here for 10 dollars, get that thing in your library right this moment or so help me

Again, could go on for forever, moving to the last tier

Above 10$

I’m only about 5 hours into Dead Cells and it’s pretty awesome. It’s under serious construction, but it’s pretty creative and has nice graphics (aside from the cringe-inducing 3d modeling on the zombies that makes me think of all those skeleton memes)

All 3 Bioshock games for 15$. That’s a pretty garsh darn great deal, I’d say. I’ve played all 3 over the years and they’re solid for their genre, I can highly recommend this deal! To find it, just go to any of the pages for the Bioshock games (1, 2, or infinite) and you will find this bundle option below the regular one.

Two of the better recent RPGs over here! Well, once again, this list could go on for way too long, so I implore you to have a fun time searching the store! Happy sales kids

AU Ideas

Spy AU: I was pretending to love you just to steal secrets but now I’m regretting my decision, I may actually be in love with you.

Dracula AU: It’s a steampunk world with flying ships, mechanical wings and steam powered pneumatic multi-stake launchers. Vampires take heed.

Werewolf AU: I legit hate being a werewolf. Everyone makes it sound great, but the transformation is painful and there’s hair everywhere and I think I’m allergic to wolf dander.

Fantasy AU: I’m just trying to survive in a world where goblins are killing and stealing, trolls don’t just bother goats crossing bridges and everything smells like swamp… how are you so clean?

Zombie AU: The hordes have rotted away and society is rebuilding. We were doing fine until the new government started interfering.

Angel AU: You’re an angel and I love you, but is that just because I’m suppose to? God is love and all that, so is that just transfer since you’re his avatar?

Teacher/Student: Yes, I’m aware that I’m more than a little hot but anything more than what we have is just morally wrong. I’d just like to be your friend.

Survival AU: I know we don’t have any food, but I’d like to point out that there are plenty of bodies in the wreck that are doing to get ripe really quick if we don’t start building some fires and preserving… look I know this is creepy and wrong but we’re going to starve if we don’t do something and this is the easiest way to get some food in us with little effort, so we can build shelter and signal for rescue. Don’t look at me like that.

Summary
: Simon comes home late one night and lays himself next to Baz in bed. He says things, but Baz is sure he’ll regret it the next day.

Baz

When I come back from hunting, Simon isn’t there, which is unusual. I wonder whether he’s followed me again, but I didn’t notice anything. (Also, he hasn’t followed me for a few months now. I was glad about the break, but I still don’t really get why.)

Sometimes, he makes me feel like I’m suffocating. Sometimes, I feel like I’m drowning in a pit of despair. (And it’s not just because I’m being dramatic – there are moments when it feels like I’m going to die of the pain, of the longing.)

But tonight, he’s not here. (I’m torn between missing him and relief. It’s torture being in love with your enemy.)

I lay down and stare at the empty bed beside me. The stars shine brightly tonight and I can hear the wind rustling against the window. I wonder what he’s up to at this time of the day. (Probably with Wellbelove.)

Suddenly I hear something crashing against the door and jolt. Is this him? (He’s clumsy, but not even he would make this much noise so late at night.)

It must be somebody who lives inside the Mummer’s house. I hear some metal clashing together (keys?) and somebody swearing. Maybe it is Simon after all?

Whoever it is, he gets the door open and stumbles in. I can only see his slumped shape, his head hanging low. What’s wrong with him?

He slams the door shut behind him and I wonder whether he’s angry. (At me? I wouldn’t know why, but that says nothing.)

For a moment, he just stand there in the middle of the room. He stares at the ground and I stare at him. Then he lifts his head and his gaze meets mine. The moonlight reflects in his eyes. He makes a step forward and his lips curl into a smile. (Mood swings?)

‘Baz,’ he whispers, and he sounds high. And then he giggles. (Crowley. Giggles.)

Dorian - Two Years Later

During the Exalted Council, if the Inquisitor speaks to Dorian, he sits in front of a chessboard. So, I headcanon that this happened (chess’ headcanons from here):

“I saw Demetra’s hand, Cullen.”
The silence felt heavy between the two of them.
They had met a couple of hours before, when the new Tevinter ambassador had smugly shooed away his colleagues that were chatting around the Commander.
They both needed to speak and they both knew they gave their best if some chess game was involved.
So, they played.
Dorian spoke quietly again, tapping one finger on the luxurious chess board “Well, I admit I forced her to show me her hand. When you wrote me the first time I thought you were a bit paranoid. Now, I regret you didn’t write me earlier.”
The mage moved his pawn “Do not think I’m blaming you, of course. I’m furious with the stupid me.”
The Commander opened his mouth, his eyes gentle, but Dorian shook one hand vehemently “Please, don’t. I’m a Mage. And a very good one. I should have known that an ancient magic such as that damned Anchor is couldn’t just stay quietly carved on her flesh forever. Visante kaffas, I have been so stupid!”
“Nobody could foresee this, Dorian. Nobody. I’m sure Demetra told you the same.”
“Actually she told me to stop being silly and give her another cup of tea.”
Both the men forced a smile.
“How is she doing, Cullen?”
“She…” he stopped, staring at the chessboard. He couldn’t say aloud again what she had said him not later than six weeks ago – six weeks and five days ago, most precisely. He couldn’t. Dorian had the right to know, though.
“She is fighting the Anchor, but she’s not sure who will win.”
Dorian sighed heavily, pinching his nose in a poor attempt to hide his reddened eyes “We’ll save her, Cullen, even if I had to invent a spell myself bargaining with all the spirits in the Fade.”
Cullen looked at him, his throat painfully clenched.
“Thank you.”
It was all he managed to say and it was insufficient to express his gratitude towards Dorian. Towards his friend.
Dorian understood and nodded anyway.
“I told her she shouldn’t be here, wasting her time with this useless, ungrateful bunch of people.” the Mage hissed “She should take care of herself better.”
“I told her the same” the Commander captured Dorian’s Hero of Ferelden “But Demetra helped Thedas’ people while they suspected her of destroying the Conclave, calling her an abomination. She’s not going to act any different now that she carries the Inquisitor title.”
“I bet she also doesn’t want to put Leliana in a more precarious position.”
“That, too.”
“I warned her that nobody was going to thank her,” Dorian sighed conquering a position near Cullen’s Divine “And I fucking hate being right. But this? An Exalted Council against the only person who stood up between Corypheus and the world? This is beyond ingratitude. It’s monstrous.”
A silent nod was all that Cullen could add.
Cassandra had said something along that line, in a more colorful way. Varric, the same. Sera had already menaced to kill at least thirty nobles and twenty diplomats. The Iron Bull and Thom Ranier hadn’t spoken very much, but they escorted their Inquisitor silently daring people to say something wrong, as Demetra greeted people here and there.
Vivienne had been kind enough to keep away from the Inquisitor the most problematic guests, while Josephine took care of being the first to talk with the ones who would like very much spat their venom in the Inquisitor’s face. Cole had asked Maryden to sing Demetra’s favorite song and Leliana, though bounded to her role, had sent in her bedroom fresh flowers, trustworthy servants, useful information about the ones who still sided with the Inquisition and a giant box of the finest Orlesian chocolate.
Demetra had wept in Cullen’s arms “I’m so lucky to have all of you. As long as you still trust me, I’m alright.”
Dorian cleared his throat “Speaking about messy things, I heard there was quite a problem with the bedrooms when the Inquisition arrived.”
The Commander couldn’t stop the blush, but Dorian’s grin was full of pride “Well done, Cullen!”
“So everybody knows about my change of quarters?”
“Are you kidding me? The Commander of the Inquisition army that takes his luggage, ignores the outraged Chamberlain and marches in the Inquisitor’s quarters declaring that he will stay there, messing with thousands of years of protocol? My friend, you are a legend.”
Cullen shrugged “Demetra agreed and I’m not going to leave her alone just because a useless etiquette told me so.”
“Of course! I can already hear the minstrels singing about the Lion of the Inquisition who marched in his beloved Inquisitor room and took her in his strapping arms before kissing…”
“Yes, thank you, Dorian, I get the concept.” Cullen shivered, making him laugh. A sincere one.
“And I didn’t kiss her in front of everybody! I just told them to go to bother someone else.”
“So no kisses? Not even a little one?” Dorian pouted.
Cullen tried to not grin “I didn’t say that.”
Dorian winked at him “Your admirers will be heartbroken to have the ultimate confirmation that you’re not available.”
Cullen smiled “Finally! Maybe they’ll stop to send crows asking me to marry this countess or that noble.”
Dorian tipped his head on the side “Since we’re speaking about this, let me ask you a thing: are you going to ask her to marry you?”
“Yes.”
No hesitation. No uncertainty. Just fierce firm belief.
“Good. Soon?”
“Yes.”
“Do you have a plan?”
“Not anymore. I had one, but now I suppose I need another one.”
“Do you have a ring?”
“I was going in Denerim to buy one when all of this happened.”
Dorian nodded again, stopping their match, and fishing something out of his pocket. Cullen took the delicate box from his hands with a perplexed frown. When he opened it, he couldn’t hold back a surprised sound: laying against soft velvet, a couple of golden rings glittered under the afternoon sun. Inside the biggest one, it was carved “Demetra & Cullen”. In the other one, he read “Cullen & Demetra”. A line of minuscule arabesques in the external part made them two little masterpieces of gold-working.
Before he could speak, Dorian smiled, quiet and sincere “In my Country, it’s the best friend of a bride or a groom that buys the wedding bands. Now, since you don’t have a lot of friends that can  be better than me and I’m quite sure Demetra loves me as much as I love her, allow me to follow one of the few traditions that I’m still proud to.”
Cullen’s thanks were too full of emotion to be as much eloquent as he wished, but they were sincere in every bit. And Dorian winked at him “One last thing: I won’t tell you to take care of her. I have no doubt you will because she’s lovely and you don’t want that an angry Magister sets your ass on fire.”
Cullen smiled, but he knew Dorian was deadly serious.
His friend continued “What I want you to promise me is that the two of you will do the impossible to be happy together. That you will treasure what you two have and you will fight to keep it alive. Life can be hard even for people who love each other as you two do, but you have something precious. Treasure it.”
“I will. We will, I promise on my life.”
“Good. And now, let’s finish this game. I want to take back some Tevinter pride and kick that awesome Fereldan ass of your.”
Cullen chuckled, putting the precious box with the rings safely in his pocket “Good luck with that. And… thank you, Dorian.”

A Hundred Lesser Faces: (Six)

Notes from Mod Bonnie

  • This story stems from the premise: what if Voyager!Claire had gone first to Lallybroch instead of directly to the print shop in Edinburgh?

Craigh Na Dun

I brought a heart into the room

but from the room I carried none with me.

No, I chided silently, staring around the pitiful shack, blank. I had left with a heart: I’d left with Bree, the love of my second life, and that little heart had kept me tethered to life until I’d found myself again.

….but the heart with which I’d entered? That was no more.

They were still here, watching me from the damp, dark corners of the cottage: the fragments. I could feel them. Aching.

Yes, this is where you left us. You made it out, but we remained. Here we shall remain, now that…

Now.

My body was a no-man’s land. On the one side, grief: staggering in detail…unending…ripping me to shreds with every breath; on the other, utter nothingness: numbed oblivion…the absence of anything human. One force would rise up to charge, emboldened, and then be summarily routed, annihilated. The process would reverse and repeat over and over, leaving nothing but a throbbing, bleeding stalemate between. Mutually-Assured Destruction.

I closed my eyes and swayed, my arms limp at my sides, a finger searching for the mark at the base of my thumb.

‘I want to take away your touch with me.’

A past me had said that, here within these walls.

‘…to have something of you that will stay with me always.’

‘Always.’

Only, nothing was ‘always.’ Not even that.

True, I could see it, still, the faintest of white lines forming the letter J; but any palpable scar had vanished into the smooth landscape of the skin.

Strange: I had never once allowed myself to acknowledge that fact. Doing so now—It plunged me into a cold, chill darkness, where only my terror was heard. Over the years, as I felt it fade, and fade, and fade, I had let myself cling to the fantasy of ‘always’; had permitted myself to never actually touch the spot, nor look at it—only to tell myself it was there, to cling to the safety and comfort of this one, tiny delusion. Yet, the cruel reality was that Jamie’s last touch was now no more than a photograph: a single moment in time, captured in the record, visible, but with no dimension. An image. A hint at a memory.

Jesus H, Christ, but it’s the *memory* that matters, Beauchamp, so stop being foolish. You’re a physician, damn you: you should know better than anyone that scars are *supposed* to heal. It doesn’t change anything. It doesn’t change the memory.

Yes, the body, so perfectly adapted to regenerate and prolong us, will do everything in its power to erase the imperfections life inflicts upon it. The platelets will descend; the threads of fibrin will lash and bind; the white blood cells will attack infection at the breach, keeping the small hurt from becoming fatal. It is how we—physically, fundamentallygo on.

The body cannot comprehend that its healing power, that very erasure, is a wound in and of itself; that our hurts and imperfections might be nothing less than our deepest desire; that even pain—

‘…I don’t care if it hurts; nothing could hurt more than leaving you.’

“Wrong again, Beauchamp,” I whispered, my voice catching. This could hurt more. Leaving him again, half our lives gone; facing the remaining half alone….and that, after rising from loneliness up to a great peak of hope—only to—

But you know he’s alive, this time, Beauchamp. You know he’s happy! You know he’s going to live to be an old man, perhaps to see his grandchildren. For Pete’s sake, you maudlin creature, surely you can agree that that fact makes this day far better than the eve of Culloden.

Yes. Better.

….but I didn’t expect to endure anything of the like again.

But now you *shall* endure it, Beauchamp. Now, you move on.

‘Move on?’ How?…. I can’t even move from this spot.

I blinked hard up at the ceiling, fists and teeth clenched, tears falling. “Damn you, Jamie, how did you bloody do this?”

He’d been so brave—so fucking brave in those final hours under this roof. He’d known that he must send me away, must do so because it was the best chance for me, for our child. He’d touched me; roused me; smiled for me; reassured me; joked and laughed, even, as best he could. He had been strong and HIMSELF, to the end.

And here I was — twenty-odd years later, leaving by the very same route for his sake, for his chance for a good and happy existence, just as genuinely assured in my conviction as he—falling apart.

How had he remained in one piece? How the bloody hell had he managed to say goodbye without even shedding a tear, damn him

‘I would sleep once more this way—holding you, holding the babe.’

Because he had known for a fact that he would die the next morning. He wouldn’t have to live with that emptiness, with a broken heart, or so he had supposed; and so he’d kept his tears at bay because he knew I would. I had to go on, and so he’d rallied for my sake, presented himself to me as a man calm and at peace, so as not to make my task—my grief, the reality that I would have to be the one to walk away forever—any more excruciating than it already was.

So brave. Strong.

I would do the same for you, Jamie, if it fell to me. I hope I could be strong for you.

But if there were any grace that had been granted to me, in this final, broken chapter of our story, it was that I was spared having to look my love in the eye as I gave him up to a better life;

that I, at least, could let my tears fall freely.

A sudden draft stirred my flimsy skirt, bringing me sharply to awareness. I shivered against the frigid air, mindful through my disorientation of how sharply my knees ached. The light outside had shifted since I entered the cottage. The sun had long since disappeared behind the horizon, leaving only the dim grey-pink of November twilight.

Time, Beauchamp. Walk out the door. Only a quick walk up the hill, and it’s over. No sense in prolonging it any further.

It was time; and I found myself moving with purpose, though not toward the door.

There, at the back wall, in that opening where the boards had long since fallen away, I stood, silent and still. Snowflakes—scattered, sporadic— brushed my cheeks, but I paid them no heed.

The very last place I’d seen him; felt his touch; felt him within me.

The damp, rotten wood felt so soft and smooth under my bare palm. Warm. Living.

‘Name him Brian…for my father.’

“Come find me, will you?” I whispered to the wind, forcing a smile. “When we’re both gone into what comes after, c—”

My throat closed.

I pictured seeing the outline of a tall, etherial figure, in that after-place…and seeing his arm circle around the waist of a small woman; the both of them stretching their arms out toward two little girls, running to them.

Would he even see me?

And yet…

‘I will find you….

I promise.’

“I shall hold you to it, Jamie Fraser.” I rubbed my thumb once over the plank.  “Til then, my love.

It was a much more strenuous climb than I remembered. The icy, twilight air stung my lungs as I gulped it down, the burning in my muscles only heightening the sensations of grief, of panic, of regret, and loss. I wanted to let myself fall, there on the slope, and weep, just sleep until I vanished into nothing.

But the thought of Bree’s face kept me going up that hill, step after aching step.

You’ll see her, soon.

Only a hundred yards more.

You’d prepared yourself to never see her again, and now you’ll have years and years

Fifty to go.

Just think of the surprise on her face.

Twenty-five.

Think of how relieved she’ll—

“C L A I R E !”

My heart stopped.

I swear, it actually

STOPPED.

I woke up the following morning and stretched lazily. When my fingers didn’t find Bucky’s body beside mine I peaked through my lashes – a sudden surge of disappointment running through my body. I spied a note on the nightstand and stretched my arm out to grab it. It was written in Bucky’s hand – and hastily. “Y/N – Have a mission with Steve and Sam. Will take a few days at least. Didn’t want to wake you – B” I laid back down with a huff. I wished he had woken me up, but it didn’t matter now.

I rolled out of bed and headed to the shower where I quickly rinsed off. As I pulled on a pair of sweats and a t-shirt I wondered to myself if Nat would be up for a workout this early in the morning. I decided that it was worth a shot and made my way out of my room and down the hallway as I pulled my wet hair into a messy bun. Once I reached Nat’s door I knocked and waited for an answer. When she opened the door she seemed surprised – I was obviously not the person she was expecting which seemed odd since we were close friends. “I was wondering if you wanted to go to the gym with me?” I asked casually. For some reason her reaction was really rubbing me the wrong way.

“Um… yeah… sure. Let me just grab my things really quick,” she had a hard time faking her enthusiasm as she answered but quickly grabbed her things and followed me down the hallway to the elevator. I sighed to myself internally – I was already regretting asking her to come with me. I couldn’t quite put my finger on what was wrong with our interactions, but they made me feel uneasy.

We entered the gym and headed towards the mat. Nat and I were about neck-in-neck on our hand-to-hand combat and only ever trained with each other because of it. As we started sparring she broke from me and danced around the mat. “So you and Barnes?” She tried to ask it casually, but I could immediately tell it was forced.

I sighed heavily. “Listen Nat, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about it. We agreed to not tell anyone – Steve didn’t even know. We wanted to test it out, before… well you know…” I shrugged awkwardly. This was definitely not what I had in mind when I had asked her to come with me.

We lapsed into silence as we continued our sparring. I noticed that Nat wasn’t pulling her punches like usual. “How long have you?” She asked – cocking an eyebrow is question.

“How long have we what? Been whatever we are or been sleeping with each other?” I asked as I placed my hands on my hips. I was getting more than annoyed with her sudden interrogation with each passing second. “We’ve been spending time together for the last five months. We slept together for the first time last night,” I answered bluntly.

“Interesting,” she responded before jumping out of the way of one of my kicks and returning a roundhouse kick that connected squarely with my stomach – knocking the air from my lungs.

“What the fuck, Nat?” I asked angrily as I remained bent over – trying to catch my breath.

“I guess I’m just surprised is all – seeing as we were supposed to be friends,” she added angrily as she placed her hands on her hips and glared at me.

“I don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about!” I shouted. I had finally caught my breath and I was angry as hell at the way she was acting.

“You know… I mean I never told you that Bucky and I had a thing, but I assumed when he told you that you wouldn’t have pursued it any further without talking to me. I guess I thought too much of you.” I was completely caught off guard. I had never known about them. Nat must have read my reaction pretty clearly. “Ah,” she smirked. “It’s because he didn’t tell you. Let me guess – you both agreed you weren’t going to tell anyone because you didn’t want to mess up the group dynamic so you kept it a secret, and he never really indicated when you would actually tell any of us? He’d wait until we were all asleep before sneaking into your room, and he’d leave before any of us woke up? Sound familiar?” she asked angrily. I had never seen this side of her before – she was being cruel and she was enjoying it. When I didn’t answer she smirked to herself again. “I wondered why he had stopped visiting me late at night…. Now that I think about it… it stopped about five months ago. He would never explain himself when I asked… I guess it makes perfect sense now. I’m sure he regretted not being able to have sex for five months though.”

She had finally gone too far. Her initial comments had thrown me off balance, but now her hostility and cruelty had caused something to snap inside of me. I had always been the calm, and silent one – never to raise her voice in a time of stress. I think that is what caused her look of surprise when my fist connected squarely with her nose causing a sickening crack which signaled the gushing of blood from it.

“Fuck you,” I mumbled as I turned on my heel and stormed to the elevator.

I wasn’t sure what I was going to do, but I knew for certain that I needed to get the fuck out of the tower…. And it needed to happen as soon as possible.

I wiped the tears from my face as I hastily packed my bags. Why hadn’t he told me? Probably because he knew I would wonder if the same thing that happened to Nat would happen to me. Or was he still seeing her when he started pursuing me? My heart sank at the thought. I had been so happy last night – so relieved that the truth was finally in the open and we didn’t have to hide it. In reality, Bucky and I had never said that we were in a relationship… It had just been implied to me. “You fucking idiot,” I muttered to myself. Why had I thought that this would work? I was just the shiny new girl on the team – eventually he would get bored with me and find someone new or go back to Nat – I couldn’t compete with her in a million years. I felt sick to my stomach. I had realized I was falling in love with Bucky months ago, but I didn’t really admit it to myself openly until last night when I thought it had been safe to do so. I grabbed my bags angrily from my bed, and left my room – slamming the door behind me.

As the elevator opened to the parking garage I knew exactly where I was going. My parents had had a small cottage on the edge of a tiny coastal town in Maine. They had left it to me when they had died. For years before I had joined the Avengers I had found solace in my visits there. It would put distance between Bucky, and I – giving me time to think. No one in the group really knew about it so I wouldn’t have to worry about someone from the team knocking at my door. As I pulled out of the parking garage and onto the busy New York streets I was desperate to get as many miles as I could between me and the people I thought were my new family.

My phone buzzed in the passenger seat as I drove out of New York City. I picked it up hastily to see “STARK” illuminating the screen. My immediate impulse was to ignore it – I really didn’t want to talk to anyone, but I knew if I didn’t answer Tony would be persistent in tracking me down and showing up unannounced and unwelcome. It was the Stark way. I slid my finger across the screen and held the phone to my ear.

“What Stark?” I tried to ask it casually, but it came out too forced. It was obvious that I was upset. I had never been great at hiding my emotions when I actually managed to get angry.

“Whatcha doing?” he asked casually.

“Driving,” I answered curtly.

“Where ya going?”

“Tony… I just need a few days to myself. I promise I will keep a low profile and stay out of trouble,” I felt like a kid trying to plead with my parents again. Part of me was annoyed, but part of me was relieved that someone cared enough to ask.

Tony let out an exasperated sigh on the other end. “Fine… Fine… just let me know if you need anything kid. We’ll see you in a few days,” he replied before hanging up.

I sighed completely relieved. It would buy me some time to be away without the constant barrage of Tony Stark’s questions. It left one last phone conversation to have before turning off my phone. I dialed the number and waited patiently until I heard the familiar voice.

“I need you – can you meet me at the cottage?” I asked nervously.

Seraphine’s eyes fluttered open.
The trees above her swayed in the wind, the sun already set high in the sky.
She was pleasantly warm, laying on her side wrapped in a thick midnight blue cloak, it’s scent so comforting, so familiar that it almost felt like a dream.
But it wasn’t a dream.
Seraphine was out of the mines, she was safe, she was free.
She twisted, running her fingers between Fen’s thick fur.
Kastiel came back for her. He had saved—
Seraphine sat up at the sound of movement near her.
“Who are you?” she demanded.
The fae in front of her didn’t look familiar. He was tall, crowned with dark hair and dark skin. He seemed a little surprised at her voice, the expression sitting unusually on his beautiful, elegant face.
“I’m Azriel,” he says, dropping a log of wood on top of a stack near his feet. “Kastiel’s uncle.”
Seraphine studied Azriel.
He wore black leathers, with blue jewels adorning different parts of his body. Nothing about him seemed even remotely similar to what Kastiel looked like. Except for the wings. Though Azriel’s was noticeably wider and grander in size.
“Azriel?” she asked slowly, dragging out all the syllables of his name, “And… Kastiel?”
Seraphine was awarded with a breathtaking smile from Azriel, and she sensed, in a way she only could, how rare this smile was.
“I like to say that he was named after me,” he said thoughtfully, arranging the logs on the ground to form a makeshift campfire. “Though Cassian would say otherwise.”
Seraphine stared at the pile of logs, before looking around at her surroundings.
“He’s by the stream,” Azriel points out. “He’s been worried about you, and he’ll be glad you’re awake.”
“Thank you,” she replies.
“Seraphine,” he says before she could leave, “are you alright?”
She meets his hazel eyes. “I’m fine.”
Azriel gives her a small nod in reply, as if he knew, exactly how she was feeling—that she bore no visible scars, but the hurt ran deeper than skin and bones. “Could you please?” he asks, gesturing to the unlit campfire.
Seraphine ignited it with a brush of her hand.
