I love the Matt/Shiro BrOTP so have some headcanons that have been sitting in my drafts for weeks
-Matt is a living meme and Shiro questions their friendship every day
-“You know you love me~”
-Everyone questions how someone so calm and mature can be best friends with Matt and Matt kinda laughs in their face
-Matt: Calm? Mature? This guy almost fought a five-year-old over a chocolate bar!
Shiro: I really like the brand oKAY???
-Matt has tried to set Shiro up on one too many dates. It’s really easy since everyone and their mother has a crush on Shiro but Shiro needs Matt to stop.
-He did after a while until Shiro developed a crush on Allura. Cupid Matt was back. Shiro wanted to kill himself.
-Constantly making fun of each other because they love each other
-Shiro: Matt, if you don’t stop, I will literally sit on you.
Matt: Try me.
-You wouldn’t believe how often that happens. Spoil alert: A lot.
-They’re pretty competitive when it comes to each other. Whether it comes to bets or board games. Tears are shed. Friendships are broken. It gets pretty intense.
-Matt: I got to move on and be who I am! I just don’t belong here, I hope you understand! We might find our place in this world someday. But at least for now, I gotta find my own way…
Shiro: Don’t you think you’re being a bit dramatic over a pizza slice?
-Once Shiro ate the last brownie and Matt wouldn’t talk to him for a week. The dude really loves his food.
Matt: This is homophobia at its finest. ://
-Once they had a convo on what their ship name would be if they dated, Shiro came up with Shatt, Matt disowned him
-Death jokes make up half of their friendship.
-Shiro: I’m going to propel myself off of this balcony.
-Matt: Not without me, you’re not.
Ok but imagine a soulmate AU where the other persons name is written on your arm so Shiros upset ‘cause he lost his arm before the mark showed up and therefore thinks he’ll never find anyone but then one day when he’s looking at his new prosthetic he notices the logo of the engineer that designed it
TheWrap spoke with Jones and Austin P. McKenzie, who plays him in part of “When We Rise.” McKenzie, best know for the Deaf West Theatre’s 2015 Broadway revival of “Spring Awakening,” plays the young Jones, while Guy Pearce plays him later in life.
TheWrap: Fifty years ago, CBS aired a special called “The Homosexuals,” in which Mike Wallace warned viewers the subject might be “disturbing.” What is it like to see this project air on a broadcast network?
Cleve Jones: It’s certainly a milestone and it’s very exciting, and I think for all of us real characters who were a part of this, we see this as an opportunity to move things forward. There are parts of it that are not exactly accurate, but it remains truthful to the movement and that’s what counts.
Why did you decide to take this on?
McKenzie: I remember reading the script for the first time in my apartment in New York City, and there are just some scripts you get, and the second you read it you just know you have to play the role. I didn’t really know why. I think maybe there was something about the way Cleve’s vulnerability was written. I was really connected to it.
Cleve, what is it like to have these actors portray you and figure out your mannerisms?
Jones: It’s an odd experience… I’ve been very fortunate to have three extremely talented actors portray me and could not be happier.
The Trump administration just rolled back protections for transgender students. The timing seems almost impeccable…
Jones: When we started working on the screenplay we certainly had no clue that any of this could have happened… If this series helps people figure out how to fight back, that’s good. But I’m not a single-issue person, and every issue I care about is at stake right now. So, it’s turning out to be appallingly timely.
Austin, do you consider yourself part of the LGBTQ community?
McKenzie: I consider myself a part of any movement that ‘s moving towards love and freedom and equality.
What did you learn from working on the series?
McKenzie: You don’t have to know the history of the movement or see the television show to want to fight for justice. I didn’t know any of this specific history. I didn’t know who Cleve Jones was or Roma Guy or Ken Jones, and I felt so privileged to have learned the history and to feel embraced by a community that is really rooting for this television show… Cleve was a big part of that learning process. When I first met him, he took me around the Castro. I call him the Jesus of the Castro Street… Cleve is so intimidating and then I met him, and he was like — I’m not sure I’m allowed to say it…
Jones: Watch it Austin!
McKenzie: He was rambunctious. I’ll say that much. I’m a big believer that you are as old as you act, and when when I met Cleve I felt like he was the youngest person I’d ever met. When I met him in San Francisco we walked around the Castro and he would point to the windows of an apartment he used to live in… He told me so many of the windows of the Castro were splattered with blood from the riots, and he showed me the camera shop that Harvey [Milk] used to own… I think from then on, I really thought, I have to do this role the best that I can for Cleve. That was the end goal for me. I wanted to do justice by Cleve and that’s sort of what I woke up to on set every day.
Cleve, what was it like for you, knowing there’s a whole generation of gay people who have no real connection to this struggle, whether because they weren’t born yet or because there are so few people alive from that time?
Jones: I don’t blame younger generations for their lack of awareness. Americans in general are not interested in history. As I’m approaching 60, I was given so many death sentences over the years, that I realize I owe that to the movement and that’s not hyperbole, that’s not rhetoric. I would be dead if it weren’t for the movement.
Why a mini-series?
Jones: It’s all about the reach, of course. Even best-selling novels don’t have the reach of ABC. That’s just amazing. I think that it was smart for ABC to do this. They’re competing against very edgy boundary-pushing products out of Amazon and Netflix and Showtime and HBO and the rest. There’s an audience for it and I think the audience is huge.
Are you ready for what’s about to happen once this airs?
McKenzie: Am I ready for it? I’m too young to know anything about life. I’m trying to take it day by day.
Jones: I don’t anticipate that my life is going to change much as a result of this. I’m not a celebrity. I work for a a labor union. I’m an organizer. I live in a rent-controlled apartment in the Castro, trying to hang on here.
What do you think of the explosion in social engagement we’re seeing across the country these days?
Jones: I think it’s unlike anything this country has ever experienced, at least since the Great Depression or World War II. I think that’s how deep the crisis is. I believe we are entering into a period of political chaos. Out of that chaos is the potential for great evil, but there is also the possibility of great good.
Do you feel like Trump’s win has forced you out of retirement?
Jones: Oh, who wants to to retire? What will I do? I don’t golf. I imagine I will drop dead on some picket line.
Austin, how has this changed you?
McKenzie: It’s going to sound strange, but I’m not really someone who likes to be in the spotlight. I’m not looking for fame. There’s a comfort in playing a real person because in a way, it takes the attention off me and puts it on this real person’s life.
Jones: I think I have to add something here. I don’t know Austin well, but I’ve paid attention to him for a while and this was an extremely difficult thing for him… He was subjected to a lot of pressure and real intense challenges and he had to struggle and he’s grown a lot as a man and is a stronger person because of this experience. I think he was profoundly changed by this experience in a very positive way and I’m proud of him.
Austin, that’s a nice compliment. How does that make you feel?
McKenzie: Wow. I feel known. I feel more respect for him. I’m just happy to hear that.
Cleve, what was it about Austin that made you and Lance think he was the right guy for the role?
Jones: We viewed videos of people reading the script. It was a bit different than my experience with “Milk” where I actually was aware of Emile [Hirsch] before. With Austin, his reading was good but then also there was this YouTube video of him performing. What’s the name of the song, Austin?
McKenzie: “Brother” by Matt Corby.
Jones: The quality of the video wasn’t great, but the performance gave me goosebumps.
Austin: I felt very happy that I could write that song for episode 3. I pitched a song called, “Thinking of You,” to Lance for the show and they took it. And when we first showed it to Cleve, that was a really good moment. I had written with the thought of some of the things Cleve went through, one of his lovers in particular, and they ended up using it and that was really satisfying for me.
You didn’t know each other before this project. How would you describe your relationship today?
McKenzie: The first day I met Cleve, and he’d spoken about “Milk” and Emile Hirsch, I remember him saying, “From this day forward we’re going to have a connection forever because you’re playing me and we’re going to have this connection regardless if we talk again or not.” I think that’s definitely true. I feel like I know him intimately now.
Jones: We’ve gotten to know each other and there will be a connection forever. It’s just how it is. The people that I met during “Milk,” those relationships are still evolving.
Request - can you do a Klaus milkaelson x reader where the reader is new to mystic falls and he instantly takes an intrest in her and makes caroline jealous?? love your writing!
Pairing : Klaus Mikaelson x Fem Reader
Requests are open. xx
Mystic Falls. An unknown territory. Truth is, I never left New York. My parents sent me here to “better myself”. They tried to get me to stay with family friends but I shot that down quick. I’m 19. I can fend for myself. The only reason I came down here instead of bailing was because I might as well do something for them. Family is all you have in the end.
The apartment I bought was right in the town. As I looked from a window I saw town square and a bar across from my building. Smirking, I got dressed into a black tank top and ripped jeans. I grabbed my heels, purse, and leather jacket before stepping out into the cold hallway.
There weren’t a lot of people around as I across the street. And it was quiet.. Living in the city that never sleeps can be very loud. This was the exact opposite and it was kind of nice.
Walking into the grill or bar or whatever it is, I looked around. The door slammed behind me, catching some peoples attention. Music played softly in the background, and I arched an eyebrow. Is this really how people spend their time down here? I sighed and started to make my way to the bar.
“Rum and coke, please.” I asked kindly.
The man looked at me with a questioning look but made my drink anyway. Wow, they don’t even ID down here. I sipped my drink and scanned around the room. Not a lot of cute guys here. The man a few seats down wasn’t too bad, with raven hair and a leather jacket but I could tell that he’s spoken for. Him and brunette over there were speaking with their eyes.
The blonde one who made my drink was okay.. But he looked vulnerable. Reading people around me became a specialty of mine after years and years of boring family business parties. I let out a sigh before downing the rest of my drink. I turned my head and saw a man smirking at me. He was probably the best looking guy in the bar. From his smirk I could tell he was confident.
The blonde girl behind him didn’t look too happy, and stormed off. I smiled as he approached me.
“You don’t look like you’re from around here, love.” The man spoke with an accent. Accents have always been a weakness of mine, but I didn’t let it show.
“That’s because I’m not.” I grinned, looked back to the bartender. “Another rum and coke, please.”
“Put it on my tab, Matt. It’s rude to have a woman pay for her own drink.”
“Oh, so chivalry isn’t dead. That’s a relief.” I let out a light laugh as Matt handed me my drink.
“I like to think my mother raised me better than that.” His voice was smooth.
“Very well. What’s your name, stranger?” I asked, taking a sip, letting the burning liquid slide down my throat.
“Klaus.. And you are?”
“Y/N. Now that we’re acquainted, how about I beat your ass at a game of pool?”
Klaus ended up walking me back to my apartment around 11. I wasn’t drunk, but I wasn’t sober either. I could still walk on my own, but I had a giggly feeling.
“You can come in, if you’d like. It’ll probably be hours before I fall asleep.” I announced as I unlocked my door.
“No. It’s quite alright. Perhaps I’ll see you tomorrow.” Klaus smiled. He drank way more than me, yet he doesn’t even seem fazed.
I let out a giggle, “perhaps you will. Goodnight Klaus. You’re not that bad you know.”
“Goodnight Y/N.” He softly smiled before walking to the elevator.
Shutting the door, I stretched and started stripping. Making my way to the closet.
Waking up, it felt as if someone lightly traced their fingers on my bare back. Yet, when I opened my eyes I saw no one around. I stretched and probably let out the most sexual noise ever while I did it. That’s the beauty of living alone. You can make so many weird noises and no one will hear.
After showering and changing into my clothes for the day, I grabbed my keys and walked to the front door. I came to a stop when I saw a single envelope on the floor, as if someone slid it under the door. The writing on it was beautiful cursive. I opened it and saw that it was an invitation to a ball.
Holy shit, I didn’t think anyone threw those things anymore. Thinking it’d be fun I decided to go dress shopping. Flipping the card over I saw, written messily in the bottom corner, ‘Save me a dance. -Klaus.’.
Jesus, I don’t know who this man is… but he’s playing the cards right. I smirked to myself, and finally headed into the town. Walking from store to store I ran into the blonde girl from last night in a boutique.
“Hi,” she simply spoke, standing in front of me with her hands clasped. I gave her an odd look.
“What’s your name?” She asked.
“…Y/N. Yours?” I responded. I felt awkward talking to her, so I continued to browse isles. Looking at different price tags on beautiful gowns.
“Caroline.” She smiled. I will admit, she is beautiful.
“Nice to meet you Caroline. Can I help you with something?”
She looked around the room, “this might sound weird, but I’m trying to help you.”
I arched an eyebrow. “Really?”
“Yeah, just stay away from Klaus… He’s trouble. I should know.”
I smirked and looked over to her, “everyone likes a bit of trouble. Thanks, honestly. But I can take care of myself. It was nice to meet you, Caroline.” I smiled before grabbing a beautiful dress and going to the register.
The ball was at 7, however considering I knew nothing about this town I decided to leave a bit early so I could avoid getting lost. The gown I was wearing was black lace. It was straight and flowed to the floor. I had my hair styled up, with loose curls falling out. My makeup was natural, with a bit of dark eyeshadow to make my eyes pop.
I ended up pulling into the mansion around 8:30. Try to get somewhere early, only to be late. Story of my life. Walking inside, I saw so many people in gorgeous dresses and suits. There were waiters walking about with champagne.
I snagged myself a glass and wandered around. I tried my hardest to look for Klaus - or hell, even Caroline, but no luck. I’m never good at events like this unless I had someone with me.
A few glasses later, I stood by the staircase. Contemplating leaving or not.
“Save me a dance, love?” I heard a voice from behind me. I smirked and turned around.
“Surprisingly, I haven’t danced with anyone. Just drinking your free champagne. If you’re lucky, you might get more than one dance.”
“How come you haven’t danced with anyone? As far as I can tell, most of the men can’t keep their eyes off you. Including my brother, over there.” Klaus smirked, pulling me to the dance floor.
“Believe it or not, most guys are intimidated by me. It was like that even in New York. Which one is your brother?” I responded, placing one hand behind his neck and the other in his hand.
“He’s over there, by the bar. He’s the one staring and trying to find out a way to win your heart.”
I glanced behind me and saw him smirking. I let out a laugh.
“He’s cute. But I’m not really into the whole Peter Pan look he has going.. And plus, I’m not that easy to win over.”
Klaus laughed, “I’ll be sure to let him know that.”
I laughed with him before he changed the subject.
“So, Y/N.. What do you like?”
“What do I like?” I laughed softly, “depends. Are we talking about in general or what I like in men?” I arched an eyebrow.
He smirked, “either one.”
I sighed, “well, I try to like everything. As cliché as this might sound, I like clothing. I’ve been thinking about designing some. I love art. But not that stupid modern art, where someone draws a line and calls it art. I like classic art. Like the Mona Lisa or Creation of Adam.. And as for men, I like them to be brilliant. Sophisticated.. But still dangerous. Every girl has a weak spot for a bad boy.” I laughed.
Klaus lightly chuckled, and looked into my eyes. He stepped away, mid dance, and held out his hand.
“Come with me.”
I narrowed my eyes at him but took his hand anyway. He led me up the staircase and I grabbed another glass of champagne on the way.
Klaus opened up the doors to a room and I walked inside. As soon as I stepped one foot inside, I gasped. Paintings were lined around the room and a desk and easel was placed in the middle.
“Oh my god.” I whispered, walking to one of the paintings.
“What are you? Like a collector or something?” I asked, lightly trailing my fingers down a canvas. I heard Klaus chuckle from behind me.
“No, actually I’m an artist. Or so I like to think.”
“Are you kidding me? These are gorgeous. The way you blended the paints together.. It’s amazing.” I smiled, and turned to face him. “You have talent.”
“Thank you. That actually means more than it seems.” He smiled back.
Suddenly the door opened and Caroline stood there, looking angry.
“Klaus. May I have a word?” Her voice was cold.
I saw Klaus roll his eyes before turning to me.
“Please excuse me, I’ll just be a moment.”
I smiled at him and nodded, turning back to the masterpieces in front of me.
For some reason, the party ended early and Klaus never returned. I was walking into my sad, cold apartment when I noticed something lying on my bed. I threw down my clutch and picked up the piece of paper.
It was a drawing, of me. My hair was down and it looked like I was smiling. I remember that moment, it was the night before when I was kicking Klaus’ ass at pool. The bottom corner had writing and it said, ‘Hope you forgive me for leaving you. I’d love to see you again. You’re different from the rest. - Klaus.’
I smiled like a drunk idiot before falling onto my bed. I think I might like it here.
“Those things you said yesterday… Did you mean them?” - Renee and Allison ?? Xx
It’s one of those lazy mornings that makes Allison feel like she’s leaning on the pause button in the middle of a joke. Like the laugh track will blare back to life as soon as she leaves her room.
It’s the three of them, sleepily threading through their morning routine like a sewing needle lost in thick fabric. It’s easy to feel like she’s caught in that web when Dan and Renee are there blinking placidly and putting their hot, comforting hands on her bare shoulder. They’re so bright and they ask so much of her without even saying anything.
She’s grateful for them, but she feels like a disruption in their frequency sometimes, when they’re positive and blinding and overcoming, and Allison is not. She’s partway through her story, and sometimes she thinks she’s been that way since birth. Sometimes she thinks she’ll die before she reaches the meat of her own story.
And then there’s this thing with Renee. Like the very best days of your best friendship, replayed and replayed and replayed.
Renee folds her lean legs onto the couch beneath her and puts one hand in her own feathery hair, damaged from bleach and flushed with colour. Allison feels her own lip jut. She wants to put her hands where that cross is a protective arm slung over her neck. Her stomach twists up in the sort of brutal and beautiful bow that Renee’s clever hands would tie.
Renee turns and smiles at her, and Allison feels an ocean of feeling swallow around her heart. She was stupid to toss it at the surface and expect it to be light enough to float.
“Penny for your thoughts?” Renee says, sipping from her pebble grey mug and smiling with the corners of her eyes and her upturned nose.
“I was just thinking about practice being cancelled. I bet Kev and Neil aren’t having as much fun as we are.”
Renee hums and looks at the far wall like she can see them through it. “I’m sure they’re coping.”
“Imagine wanting to sweat for three hours more than you want to sleep,” Allison says, disgusted. “They’re freaks.”
“I can think of a few ways I’d want to sweat for three hours,” Dan announces, wandering over from the kitchen and grinning.
“Two dollars in the Matt jar,” Allison says immediately. “Freak,” she adds as an afterthought.
Dan topples into the arm chair sideways, legs flung over the arm. “I didn’t actually mention his name, damn. Maybe you should put two dollars in the Matt jar.”
“Only if I start fucking him,” she replies, just on the right side of nasty. She likes to throw the most violent way she can say something out into the room and wait for anger or laughter. It almost doesn’t make a difference which one she gets.
“Please don’t,” Renee says airily, and Allison looks at her sideways.
almost everyone i know is into this show except me, and this is what i’ve picked up by osmosis or them explaining things to me:
there’s some dude with like ten names (one of them is percy but goddamn if i know the rest) who wears glasses that have smaller glasses attached and a lot of people like him and are also really sad for him?
vex is the one with the bear and also probably the best?? i think she wears feathers?
also yeah there’s a fucking bear apparently, how can they sneak anywhere it’s a fucking beAR
I REALLY AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE BEAR, LIKE, is he okay even if he’s not sneaky
there are really cute girlfriends, somewhere (one of whom is blonde?)
the bard(?) made a shirt of that one meme of matt mercer pointing and possibly lost inspiration points for it
there was a dinosaur at some point?
i think their mage(?), keyleth, apparently has really big deer horns and i wonder constantly if she ducks every time they enter a room, does she do that
vex has a twin edgelord brother and i know nothing about him other than that my friend’s tag for him and some other dude is “pour one out for vax’ilmore” which already makes me sad for them
also yeah apparently gilmore would be my favorite according to… everyone i know, because he’s little and gay and grieving and inhumanly powerful, so probably they’re right and i’d cry about him
can the raven twins fly or what like do they actually have wings, because, cool, but also fanart is really confusing
peoples’ tags for this show make me laugh bc it’s like #vax’il’dan vas normandy and #percy longshanks prettyboots coconuts mcrolo and #grog strongjaw and then just fuckin #matt mercer as if matthew mercer was just chillin out with his friends, the ten fantasy demigods
wait i remembered the bard is called scanlan and i think he tries to banish boss monsters a lot?? i saw like three seconds of a random episode where he went “GET LOSSST OH MY GODDDD” as if through a horn which i appreciated
idk why i know grog strongjaw’s name by the way i know nothing about him but i trust him?
they have their cleric on skype which i just… love, as a concept, it’s like having a doctor on call, it just tickles me
how many characters honestly are there because there’s like five…six? seven? of them playing but i listed at least ten
lots of puns
found family bonding over their fear of matt mercer
no one asked about my soulmate au but you’re gonna get it
so you can pry demi shiro from my cold dead hands
meaning the names (yes NAMES) on his body are smudged and faint
he hasnt met these people, he hasnt formed a connection, but he could
meanwhile matt’s soulmark (just the one) is under his collarbone, easy to hide with a casual t-shirt
the problem is he cant read it. his soulmate has horrible handwriting
and allura is in a cryopod, so she cant spend much time thinking about the strange scrawl on her hip
shiro and matt meet at the garrison and they just click together
slowly, the mark under shiros collar bone starts to darken and take shape
and its two years after they meet that shiro looks in the mirror and realizes holy crap not only is that matt’s name but its his HANDWRITING
he rushes to find matt and they happy hug because they’re soulmates!!
but shiro decides to just tell him now
“i have another name.”
he shows matt the indistinct grey blur on his right hip, and matt shrugs
“as long as you don’t leave me entirely, and we all communicate with each other, we can make this work”
shiro’s like “but you only have the one mark”
matt laughs and says “the universe must have decided we wouldn’t match”
bc matt is hella gay. he understands why he only has the one mark when shiro later introduces him to allura. he laughs and they get along great, the bestest of platonic buds
so matt and shiro go on the kerberos mission (imagine going to see a moon with your soulmate!)
and the galra get them
and they get separated and shiro is back on earth and now that he knows what having matt by him at all sides is like hes not ready to give it up
so hell yah he gets in that weird lion thing and hell yah he flies to that alien planet and hell yah he helps that princess (who’s really pretty and why is his hip tingling every time he speaks to her?)
and allura is kind and smart and strong and resourceful and beautiful and powerful and sweet and wow shiro realizes shes pretty amazing
and then he looks in the mirror and her name is on his hip in bold black, in a pretty cursive, as dark and as valid as matts name
when he tells her she looks at him with wide eyes
“you have awful handwriting”
seriously shiros poor soulmates no one can read his handwriting
allura understands shiro has two soulmates (“it happened all the time on altea!”) but she only has one and matt only has one and honestly its fine
she helps him get matt back and shiro may cry a little when they rescue him
“matt, this is allura, my soulmate. allura, this is matt, my soulmate”
he introduces them to people like that a lot
so basically the rest of this au is fluffy nerds being nerds
matt/shiro/allura is Good and Awesome they are the dorkiest adults in the world
coran officiates the wedding
they are the space parents
poly space parents
some other Thoughts:
allura teaching them both Altean
Poly!! Parents!! Getting!! Kittens!!
allura and matt stage an intervention. shiro really does have awful handwriting.
A continuation of this! Because I can’t get these ideas out of my head, but I haven’t actually gotten around to writing any of it yet.
I wrote my
version for season 3, so now I’ma just keep eventually going through all 6
seasons, lol. Which means we’re getting into my personal headcanon territory as
well as original ideas, so read at your own risk (people who have read
Serendipitous Fate know what we’re in for here).
SO ANYWAY! The
team is all back together following season 3 and so we’ve got to change our
direction a bit. The characters that got the most focus in season 3 were Hunk,
Lance, and Keith, with a bit of Allura and Pidge on the side. So season four is
going to revolve more generally around Shiro, Allura, and Pidge, with the other
three doing things more subtlety in the background. What does this do? Well,
mostly it allows for a way to address the issues between Keith and Lance
without making them center stage. Hunk—following his development in season 3
and his want to keep the team together—will act as a kind of middle man as these
two get their shit together in the background of the main narrative, as I think
Hunk has mainly been only in Lance’s corner previously.
So, the season
will open up following the battle with the Galra. Everyone is finally back
together and with the stress of the situation no longer weighing on them, the
actions they took last season will begin to trickle in. There will be implications
that everyone is basically caught up on what everyone else was doing, so we don’t
have to view that summary. Keith and Lance will, at some point early on,
address the rift they created at the beginning of season 3 with apologies and
the decision to try and listen/understand one another better. It will be kind
of a sweet moment, but then be interrupted by Hunk or Pidge and it won’t last.
Why? Because Keith and Lance, though they be trying, will still struggle to get
along and so we can’t have the moment be too heavy. Lance is aware of his insecurities
and that he projects those onto Keith, and Keith is aware that his tendency to
go off on his own and make solo decisions tends to grate on the others. They
both struggle to control these things however, and so still argue, but are
making clear attempts to get along better. Hunk, now feeling more comfortable
in his position as the rock and the one bringing others together, is less
dependent on Lance for validation and making efforts to get to know Keith as
well, which results in him making a good middle man between the two when they
fight and a good voice of reason in pointing out the mistakes both are making. This
is kind of their status quo throughout the whole season and we see in the
background as they make slow steps toward better relations with one another,
like gradual building blocks. This also makes a better opening for Keith to
connect with them, as Hunk taking a more active role opens doors to Keith that
weren’t there previously. It’s also important to note that, as a result of
season 3, Keith is now also making better efforts to connect with the other
paladins just generally.
So that’s the
background story. Up front we have Shiro, Allura, and Pidge. Shiro has been trapped
in the astral plane, basically, and as a result, was both kind of helpless as
well as able to better recall all of what happened when he was captured. Not in
the strictest sense, but more like the effects of the astral plane (which we
will learn more about later) have made things more accessible to him. Which
means Shiro is going to be suffering more heavily from PTSD with more frequent
flashbacks to his time as a prisoner. Which is important because it will not
only help us gleam more of his character, but of the Galra as a whole. As well
as their technology and the effects if has.
During this beginning
time, we’re also going to be getting hints of Allura learning more about her
magical abilities and what that means/the connotations that come along with having
the ability to use magic (there’s a lot of negative stigma). This was something
that was kind of ignored in season 3 because, well, Allura was ignoring it, but
because of some battle or rescue, it comes to the forefront and Allura has to
confess that she has these abilities and that she basically doesn’t know how to
The driving plot
point for the beginning of the season, however, will be Pidge and her father.
Her father (his name is Sam I think?) explains that after Matt was injured by
Shiro, he was sent to the same work camp and they were reunited. Gradually,
rumors of Voltron came in and out with prisoners and Matt was able to, as a
result of Shiro’s sacrifice for him, inspire a revolt within the work camp.
They managed to escape and basically started a kind of underground resistance
movement of their own, where they flew around to prison camps and started
freeing others, mostly in attempts to find Shiro on Matt’s end.
Sam and Matt got
separated at some point, however, and that was when Keith found Sam and brought
him back to the Castle of Lions. The team, probably in episode 1, decides that
locating and forming an alliance with this resistance movement, which Sam
explains has become quite organized, is a good move to make. So they set their
sights on that, which Pidge is grateful for because of her brother, obv. It’s
in the following character building/filler eps that we get the Shiro flashbacks
and the Allura magic issues, probably while they’re answering distress calls
and learning more about the resistance.
Lotor is also
causing problems. He’s abandoned his battle, which basically makes him a
traitor, and so he can’t return to the Galra. Yet, for how much he hates his
father and the Galra, he still wants to be a part of them (it’s his home, after
all) and so we get a little bit of Zuko behavior in which Lotor basically harasses
team Voltron every once in a while. This is also what leads to Allura’s magic
outbreak, as Lotor is also a magic user and it’s him that somehow inspires her
own magic (likely during battle) to show itself. In this way, Allura and Lotor
become very clear foils for one another (more so than the obvious already makes
them). Basically Lotor figures that if he can capture Voltron, he can regain
his standing in the Galra empire and the luxuries that come with it.
So all these
stories are kind of working together, unlike in my season 3 where everyone’s
arc was very clearly divided (symbolism!). So we’re into episode 3 or 4 when
they manage to come across some of this organized resistance that Sam spoke of.
Matt’s not with them, but they raise some issues of their own in how they’re
dealing with the situation. Maybe they’re trying to recuse some prisoners and
are a little dramatic about how the sacrifice of a few to save many is worth it
and Shiro and Allura have to kind of step in and be like, no, that’s not how
this needs to work. Maybe Rolo and Nyma are there and it’s through them,
because they’re more willing to listen to team Voltron, that they get through to
the resistance that they need to correct how they’re doing things if they want
to do things “right.” They end up saving everyone, of course, but both Pidge
and Sam are uncomfortable with how the resistance seems to be functioning.
Especially since Matt was supposed to be in charge (maybe there’s a nice Shiro
comforting Pidge moment).
So we let that
plot point lie for a little while and turn our focus back to Shiro. A lot of
what inspired Matt to start the resistance was Shiro’s actions, and so The
Champion has kind of become a beacon of hope/inspiration/hero to the
resistance, thus making Shiro feel guilty for the relative mess it’s kind of
become as a result of what is interpreted as his brutal actions. He also feels
guilty over the fact that team Voltron fell apart while he was gone, so he’s
just generally down on himself. He’s had more and more of his memories as The Champion
coming back and he’s more and more displeased with what he’s finding out he
did. Turns out he was actually pretty
brutal in some respects, even if it was just to survive, and so some of what
the resistance thinks of him is justified. Basically this episode will lead to
Shiro being more introspective about what happened—as painful as that may be—which
leads to considerations about his arm and its mysteries.
technology is something that takes the life force of other living things and
turns it into fuel (sounds like FF7), so it’s logical to assume that Shiro’s
arm, to a certain extent, is infused with this life force to function. As it
turns out, it’s his arm that acts as the key to the astral plane and is what
allows him to access it (what Hagger meant when she said he could have been the
most powerful weapon she’d ever made). He probably finds this out during some
kind of tense situation in which he disappears by accident and then reappears
Which leads to
Allura and Coran explaining what, exactly, the astral plane is (probably in a
following episode). Turns out it’s kind of like another dimension where quintessence
shifts in and out with the death and creation of planets/life/etc. It’s also
where magic is said to come from, as those who use magic have a link to the
astral plane (which is kind of why it’s frowned upon). However, magic users can’t
access the astral plane directly as Shiro can, which is why he’s so vital. It’s
one thing for one’s “essence”—as Shiro and Zarkon had done in the past—to shift
between realms, and quite another to be able to physically go there, as Shiro
that Shiro’s ability must have been a rare breakthrough for Haggar and is why
he’s considered so dangerous. Someone with direct access to the astral plane
could, logically, have unimaginable power. Good thing Shiro doesn’t want
unimaginable power, unlike certain villains who are probably recovered
following season 2’s finale.
In this way,
however, Allura and Shiro’s stories begin to overlap a bit, though that fact
won’t become totally clear till later seasons. Lotor comes back into the
picture, probably, and ends up taking on Allura one on one or something. We learn
some about their past together—how they probably grew up together or something
and how Lotor turned evil alongside his father. He likely taunts Allura for her
weakness, as they’re battling using magic and she’s at a clear disadvantage due
to lack of training. And while I’m all for Allura being able to take care of
herself, I do want Shiro to step in here and redirect Lotor’s power to the
astral plane with his arm. Which likely shocks Lotor and sends him fleeing,
again (until next time, hu hu hu, team rocket style).
Maybe we’ll get
a heart to heart between Shiro and Allura at the end, where Allura expresses
her sorrow at her abilities as well as her weakness in using them properly, and
Shiro tells her something about how it’s not the power itself that is evil, but
what she chooses to do with it, just as he’s turned his curse of an arm into
something useful, or how Keith uses being Galra to their advantage. Which helps
her put a more positive spin on her situation and shows that, as a result of
using his arm for good, Shiro is dealing with his own issues.
Next episode (we’re
probably into the later side of the season by this point), we’re back on focus
with Pidge and Sam. But the Blade of Marmora is back as well and they’re pissed
because the resistance isn’t tactful at all and they think they’re making things
worse all around. Which puts some tension on Voltron as they do have alliances
with both factions. It quickly begins to escalate, as Sam—despite having
grievances with how the resistance is functioning—is willing to defend it, and
so there’s some arguing to be had between him and Kolivan. The Castle of Lions
is already headed to the resistance’s home base (it moves all the time, which
is why Sam didn’t know where it was), and so they calm Kolivan a bit by
promising to talk to the resistance leader about what’s happening. They think
the leader is Matt.
wrong. When they get to the resistance’s base, they aren’t greeted warmly. They’re
actually attacked and asked to leave. When hailed to speak with the group on
the ship, it’s made clear by some alien dude (who’s apparently in charge) that they’re
just fine without Voltron and could care less about the alliance made
previously with the other chunk of resistance members. They’re convinced they
can deal with Zarkon on their own. Sam makes it quite clear that a lot of
members of the resistance don’t agree with this stance and that leadership
appears to have been taken over by a group of extremists set on destroying as
much of the Galra as possible without much consideration for how many lives
they actually save. He probably knows the leader alian dude due to previous
problems caused within the resistance or something.
this is not good. The resistance doesn’t want anything to do with Voltron and
so it’s become dangerous to approach. But the base will be moving soon and
Pidge doesn’t want to lose it, not so long as there’s a chance that her brother
is aboard. Thus, we get Pidge sneaking out in order to then sneak aboard the
base and search for her brother. She gets caught, however, by Keith, who
quickly learns of her plan. It’s at this point that he makes it clear he’s
going with her, so we get some Keith and Pidge bonding time. He probably
explains that he understands why she has to do what she is—he did the same for
Shiro in season 3—but that he learned from experience that going off alone isn’t
the best option. Pidge agrees and they set out together in the green lion (because
invisibility). They probably also share in some discourse about why Keith isn’t
angry she’s more focused on her family than the big picture, and Keith admits
that maybe they’re not as different as he initially claimed. Shiro is like a
brother to him, like Matt is Pidge’s brother, and so he’s more sympathetic to
her situation now that he’s basically done the same thing she’s aiming to do. He
just doesn’t want her to make the same mistakes he did. It’s all very touching,
sneak into the base, there’s some tip-toeing around, and they eventually find
Matt. He’s not exactly a prisoner, but he certainly doesn’t have the freedom he
did when he was leading the resistance. He was basically booted from being
leader because the extremists said he wasn’t acting decisively enough, as “The Champion”
would have done. And while Matt admits that he wants to find Shiro, he’s not
quite in line with what the new leadership has in mind for getting rid of the
Galra and finding Shiro, who they basically want to be their leader once they
find him. Pidge explains that Shiro is with them—that he’s a paladin of Voltron
with her—and that he wouldn’t agree with what the resistance was doing either (which
Matt obviously knows). Keith soon interrupts the reunion, explaining that if
they’re going to get Matt aboard the Castle of Lions, they’d better leave soon.
however. He can’t leave because all his work and research is aboard the
resistance base. He explains that he’s working on a project that will make it
possible to intercept satellite waves all over the universe and broadcast
messages, giving him a way to communicate with potential allies as well as warn
ignorant planets (like Earth) about the threat of the Galra. He’s also planned
to use it to find Shiro. And seeing as this is a pretty important project,
Keith and Pidge ultimately end up leaving without him, much to Pidge’s
distress. She’s afraid that if her brother stays, he’ll eventually be put in
danger by the extremists. And so she and Keith sneak into a control room where
she downloads all the resistance intel before they escape back onto the Green
Shiro is not
pleased once he finds out what they’ve done, but the intel does prove valuable.
Not only does it further illuminate just how much the extremists worship Shiro
(much to his discomfort), but it also reveals a plan within which the
resistance plans to rally their forces and take their base directly to Zarkon
in a move that is both deadly and direct, just as “The Champion would do.”
Clearly, team Voltron knows this is a suicide mission—the resistance has no
idea what they’re up against and aren’t nearly big enough to take on Zarkon
alone. Many lives that could otherwise be useful will be lost to a leader that
is too disillusioned by power to know what he’s doing.
Which means it’s
time to Voltron to step in, which the Blade of Marmora is more than happy
about. Upon Voltron approaching the resistance base, however, they’re attacked
(as expected). They have the aid of the Blade of Marmora, however, who agreed
to sneak into the base and capture the leader while Voltron provided a distraction.
Naturally, however, things don’t go as planned and Voltron, the Castle of
Lions, and the Blade of Marmora end up in an all-out firefight with the
And things only
go from bad to worse when, lo and behold, Lotor shows up too. There’s a reason
he knew where they were, I just haven’t thought about it yet. Anyway, he shows
up and sets his sights on getting to Allura, who he views as Voltron’s biggest
weakness—put her in danger and Voltron comes running. It’s important to note
that he and his magic have been bothering the team for the past two seasons, so
he’s a pretty dangerous/annoying threat.
focus is scattered, things look shitty, Lotor is being a dick. Maybe this is a
three episode finale or something, or maybe only two. Either way, this ep ends
with everything in disarray, Lotor probably aboard the Castle of Lions, and at
the very last minute, a giant Galra force shows up (probably Lotor gave them a
clue or something). Things only go from bad to worse.
Voltron has been separated. Keith is with Pidge aboard the resistance’s ship
looking for Matt. Lance and Hunk are on the battlefield. And because it’s the
season finale and everyone deserves their moment, we get to really see why Hunk
and Lance work so well together. Lance uses what he learned in season three to
inspire the resistance—maybe against their leader’s orders—to side with Voltron
and the Blade of Marmora against the Galra (who are attacking by now), while
Hunk—being an awesome lieutenant—keeps it all together and organized. They’re
the ones that kind of deal with the battle.
Shiro has gone
back to the Castle of Lions upon learning from Coran that Lotor is aboard. We’ve
seen by now that Lotor and Allura are facing off again, but know that Allura
can’t really compete. Shiro knows this as well and also knows he’s the only one
that can stop Lotor. Which is why he’s going back. There might be a bit of time
where he notes that Lance is doing well at being in charge while he’s gone, or
maybe it was at Lance’s encouragement that he go back to help Allura in the
first place. But it’s a very small piece of development.
and Keith are still aboard the resistance’s ship. They meet up with the Blade
members who were there and make a plan. Basically Pidge goes alone to find Matt
while Keith goes with the other Blade members to find the leader. Pidge finds
Matt, but he still refuses to leave, even at the threat of the ship being potentially
destroyed. Which infuriates Pidge and they get into an argument in which Matt
accuses her of not seeing the big picture. The argument escalates, Pidge makes
it clear to Matt just how much she does understand/how much she’s grown. He’s
surprised and we get a more blatant reference to all the development Pidge has
had. Matt agrees to go with her, despite how unfortunate it is that he has to
leave his research, and they make an epic escape in which Pidge does some
awesome, smart, impressive things.
meanwhile, is fighting through the ship with the few blade members to the
leader. They get there, but it proves challenging. The leader alien is no one
to take lightly and Keith eventually ends up in a desperate situation (after a
sick display of his combat prowess, of course). Which when, out of nowhere, a
kind of wormhole/portal opens up and out comes the Galra Keith saved inside the
weblum in season 2. It’s also the same teacher type that Lance met during
season 3, but only the viewers know this, not the characters. The mentor didn’t
come with Lance to save the Castle of Lions in season 3, because reasons, and
so no one but Lance knows them, which is why this miscommunication works.
come in and disarm (kill? Or is that too much?) the leader, saving Keith. There’s
an important moment where Keith loudly questions the person, wanting to know
who they are, but they’re still masked and refuse to answer. Instead, they both
get distracted with what’s going on outside the ship’s windshield. Namely, with
Lance, Hunk, and the Castle of Lions.
Hunk and Lance
are still out fighting, leading the charge against the Galra, but something
happens and both Hunk and Lance know that the castle—which is too busy with
Lotor to be focused on the battle—is in danger. So they head in to protect it.
Castle of Lions, Shiro has reached Allura and Lotor, probably in the control
room. Coran has probably been injured/disabled. Sam too maybe. Allura and Lotor
are struggling against one another’s magic. There’s lighting, it’s intense. Shiro
tries to step in the same way he had before, but Lotor is ready for him this time
and manages to keep him at bay/blast him back/injure him before he can
intercept the magic and divert it to the astral plane.
Allura is on her
own and, while she’s doing a good job of staying on her feet and fighting back,
it’s clearly inevitable that she’ll go down. There’s probably some words shared
between her and Lotor that make her look like a boss going down, as she should.
Shiro, meanwhile, is struggling to crawl back toward the fray. He can’t really
get to Lotor, but he gets to Allura. Just as she’s about to go down, he touches
her—maybe he gets to his feet and manages to place his robot arm on her
shoulder or arm.
Which is when
things get interesting. Together—with Allura’s power and Shiro’s ability to
access the astral plane—they become a sort of unstoppable force of power. There’s
a very impressive display of Allura’s power, maybe some glowiness, and Lotor
basically doesn’t stand a chance against her with Shiro’s support. In fact,
Lotor tries to escape, but Allura’s power overwhelms him and keeps him prisoner.
All the magic is sucked right out of him and he ends up passing out right there
in the castle.
Both Shiro and
Allura are weakened by the exchange as well, but they don’t have time to be
thinking about it, as things outside the castle have gotten worse. Maybe the
castle jolts to the side or something and they look out to see that the yellow
lion has just pushed them out of the way of a tractor beam (after all, the black
lion was seen going into the Castle of Lions, so why not take the whole
thing?). Lance is trying to distract the main ship, while the Blade of Marmora
and the resistance beat back the Galra forces.
Keith is still
watching from the resistance ship, as the timeline makes it so it’s only been
moments since the leader was disarmed.
Pidge and Matt
are in the green lion, headed in to help, but they’re too far away to do much.
Lance, in his
efforts to distract the main ship, gets caught in the tractor beam intended for
the Castle of Lions. Hunk, who’s the closest lion, tries to get to him, but he’s
too slow. In Lance’s attempts to protect the Castle of Lions, he’s kidnapped by
the Galra, who know they’re losing. Basically, the commander has settled for
one lion and manages to escape as soon as Lance is on board.
floating in the silence of space, all the members of Voltron shocked and
horrified to realize what’s happened. Especially Shiro, who gets the last
scene. He knows what’s in store for those captured by the Galra, after all, and
his fear and horror is the last thing seen before credits role.
Ok so this one turned out super cute and I really liked it
so I hope you guys like it too! Enjoy!
Anon Request: You’re writing is absolutely amazing and I
gotta say I am completely addicted to it because I can barely go a couple of
hours on an off day where I’m not checking and re-checking your blog to see if
you’ve posted a new one. And honestly, I really need an imagine with Mitch
Marner trying to set his older sister up with Matt Martin, but it turns out
she’s dating Tyler Seguin from you because you’re that amazing.
close with Mitch, which wasn’t normally the case with siblings.
Could you do more Nathaniel stuff? Maybe the Foxes all seeing Nathaniel (not Neil) for the first time and not knowing what to do and Andrew is the only one who can help???
A/N: Not the same timeline as anything else, including the resolution series of prompts i finished recently
tw: p slur, DID, (also prob dont need a tw but like…i hate how this turned out im sorry i suck)
Neil had been playing faster, better, harder - more ruthless, than any game he’d played in a long while.
He’d gotten a yellow card, and had only managed to dodge a red card because Wymack had grounds to challenge the call because the other team’s member had initiated the foul.
The Foxes had won by 3 points. But it didn’t feel like much of a victory. They shuffled into the locker room. Kevin and Aaron were in charge of press.
“Good game Foxes.” Wymack had called out, “Celebrate, enjoy yourselves, you deserve it. Neil -” Wymack waited till Neil looked up at him, “Play well, but don’t play dirty.” Neil nodded at him once, and Wymack left the locker room.
“Anybody down for Eden’s?” Nicky called out.
“Yes.” Came Kevin’s voice from the doorway, where he and Aaron had just walked in.
“Dan?” Nicky turned to his captain. Who turned to her boyfriend, who shrugged in turn.
She turned back, “Sure.”
Nicky turned to Andrew, “Andrew -” He stopped short, “- something wrong?”
Andrew had been staring at a shirtless Neil.
Which, probably wasn’t uncommon, but they were in front of the rest of the Foxes.
“Neil -” Came Matt’s hushed voice.
“Oh my God…” Came Nicky’s as soon as he scanned over Neil’s torso.
“Put your shirt back on, their gawking.” Came Andrew’s unamused voice.
Neil grinned, “Let ‘em.”
Neil’s grinned wider, “I might let them off, but you know it’s not.”
Andrew grit his teeth, “Abram.”
“Isn’t home right now, can I take a message?”
Andrew took a couple threatening steps toward Neil -
“…what the fuck is going on.”
Andrew turned towards Dan, “You should go.”
“Like hell.” Matt returned. “Neil, what -”
“It’s not Neil.” Nathaniel snarled.
Matt took a step back from the venom he knew Neil was capable of, but never had directed at him.
“I think. You should go.” Andrew was looking at Nathaniel, but his words were directed at the room full of Foxes.
“Listen to the psycho, go on.”
“Neil.” Renee spoke up. She had an icy expression, the coldest the Foxes had ever seen on her.
“It’s Nathaniel. Which - “ Neil turned to the rest of them,”you should have figured out by now.”
Allison stepped in front of Renee. “His name is Neil.”
Nathaniel rolled his eyes exaggeratedly. “Fuck off, princess.”
Matt stepped back forward, in front of Dan.”You’re not Neil. And you’re not welcome here.”
“Cry me a river, Boyd.”
“Are you done?” Nathaniel turned to where Andrew’s voice was coming from. “Had your fun?”
“Hm…I don’t know, are you done with him yet?”
Andrew narrowed his eyes, “Don’t plan on it.”
“Pity, this could be over so much sooner if you’d just - give up.”
“Not fucking likely.”
Nathaniel sighed, “Fine, perhaps next time.”
“I wouldn’t count on it.”
“Oh believe me, Andrew -.” Nathaniel sneered, as a chill went up Andrew’s spine, he never wanted to hear his name come out of Neil’s mouth the way that it just did. “ - there’ll be a next time.”
I choose the first one because it’s actually an example of what Klaus says in 3x05:
Stefan is in the midst of his blood high/ripper rage but the minute he shoves Elena, his humanity returns and he looks absolutely ashamed and embarrassed and scared and it’s a wonderfully acted scene by Paul and it shows just how much Elena means to him and that she directly connects to his humanity.
I choose the second one because Elena is anxious about what she saw in the first scene but when Stefan touches her face, she’s relieved and she’s almost serene, no matter what he is that person for her, like the way she closes her eyes the minute his hand is on her cheek and then she just stares at him basking in his touch, again showing how much he means to her.
2. The 4x05 hug
In one of my older posts I used a quote about Jamie and Claire in “Outlander” to describe SE and specifically their physicality:
“When Jamie reaches out his hand
toward Claire… They just snap together like a clamshell closing
[…]” and I think the 4x05 hug is an example of that idea, of snapping together like a clamshell closing:
which harks back to earlier SE hugs:
3. The 4x07 face touch
She sleeps with Damon in this episode but clearly she still loves Stefan, she doesn’t do this with Matt, this isn’t just a friend thing.
4. “Katherine, who?”
The makeout itself is something that’s spoken about a lot but I particularly love “Katherine, who?” because Elena is going on about getting caught and she brings up Katherine’s name and Stefan’s response is literally the best thing he could’ve said at that moment and Elena’s smile proves that and it’s after he says, “Katherine, who?” that Elena switches and is on top, like OK let me lose myself then:
5. The 6x08 phone call
Because they use each other as points of reference for how to love other people, that’s what this phone call is about, but I also think there’s the realization in this pause that they’ll never be able to love other people with that type of devotion and passion.
Summary: The reader finds comfort in unexpected arms when the past returns to the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. He realizes a little too late that he had lost her forever.
Warnings: Smoking (I don’t encourage this, it was just for dramatic effect), cursing, a bit sad.
A/N: I changed just a bit the request because I wanted to make the reader a badass because she fucking deserved it, okay?? Hope you guys like it, and feedback this shit because I am a sucker for feedback <3
“Matt, I don’t care what your current deal with
her is—” she pointed at the slim brunette behind the sliding door that lead to
the Devil’s bedroom—“but you have to know that I can’t keep this shit going on
if you’re not gonna cooperate. A relationship is made by two, not just one.”
She shook her head, trying to hold back the tears. “I’m done, Matt. I shouldn’t
have believed you…”
“(Y/N), let me explain it—”
“No.” She smacked her lips. “I sure as hell
don’t want any explanation of yours. Enough I have with you being the fucking
Devil of Hell’s Kitchen; I don’t need to know why Elektra is back. All I need
to know is that you’re turning into who you were in college and back then, this
hurt like hell… I’m not gonna let it hurt again.”
“(Y/N), please…” Matt pleaded.
“Goodbye Matt, I hope you don’t get killed.”
She took a deep breath and turned around for good.
It wasn’t until she was in the safety and
privacy of her four walls that she allowed herself to break down. She sat on
the hard-wooden floor trying to remember when Matt had started to act different
and why she wasn’t able to stop this from happening. It was a cycle repeating,
and it had one thing in common: Elektra Natchios.
Several hours later, (Y/N) carried her coffee,
a pack of cigarettes, her lighter and a garden chair up to the rooftop of her
building. She was not sure if she was allowed there, but she just needed a
moment of peace and that was the only place she could think of. After arranging
everything into place, she sat down and lit up the first cigar, and as she took
the first, deep, drag, she also took a deep breath. She needed it, after all.
Steps behind her made her turn her head a
little just to have a glance at who it could have been. She sighed and smiled
lightly and took another drag. She took out her cigarettes and offered the just
arrived man. He declined, wrinkling his nose and sitting on the cornice of the
rooftop, beside her extended legs.
“Rough night, Castle?” She asked, looking at
him from the corner of her eyes.
“I dare say less rough than yours, (Y/L/N),” he
chuckled, “so… what’s with the tough look?” He nodded in her direction; truth
was that with the mug of cold coffee in one hand, the cigarette on the other
and the bad-ass sitting, she looked tougher than ever. Frank smiled lightly at
the sight as he awaited for an answer.
“I just had a terrible day.” She replied
She scoffed and rolled her eyes in exhaustion.
“At life.” She sighed heavily and sipped the remaining of the cold coffee. “It
seems like the past insists in following me around today.”
“Wanna talk about that, pal?”
“You know I had a boyfriend, right?” Frank
nodded silently. “Well, Matt and I met back in the day, when we were in
Columbia studying and all that crap, and boy he was a good guy. Like a saint
kinda guy, but a woman appeared in the way. Her name is Elektra Natchios and…
It all went to shit because she not only distracted him from… me,” she took a
deep breath, “but she also made him distracted from his studies and everything.
Long story short, she’s back in town and today I found them at his place and…
she had not changed a thing, and unfortunately Matt has gone back to who he
used to be with her.”
“So you hate this Elektra gal?” Frank asked.
“You could think so, yeah, but… truth is I
don’t. I just hate what she has done to Matt, and what she does to him. He
seems to be under some…” she twisted her lips, trying to think of the right
word to describe her thoughts, “some kind of spell. I mean, bitch is gorgeous I
swear to god. Like, tall and super skinny. She looks like a freaking model, but
again, it’s not her who I’m mad at.”
“Did you find them going at it?” Frank cocked
“God, no!” She squealed and winced in disgust.
“They looked like they were injured, and… well, Elektra was wearing one of
Matt’s shirts, that of course, totally suited her, but the shirt she had on was
one I gave Matt for his birthday.” (Y/N) bit her bottom lip. Frank had never listened
so carefully and he never seemed very interested about her relationship with
the lawyer, but that night it all changed and she was taking the opportunity to
let it all out. “I mean, he didn’t even have the fucking decency of giving her other shirt. Why did it have to be my
shirt? I don’t want it back but—”
Out of a sudden, both (Y/N) and Frank were
startled by the Daredevil himself.
“(Y/N) get away from him, he’s dangerous.” The
man in the red suit warned, quickly getting to her to try to keep her away from
the Punisher. Matt could be very protective and possessive when he felt like
(Y/N) was in possible danger, but now it was too late for him to play hero and
try to protect her.
“Get your hands off of her, Red.” Frank
threatened, dropping his gun on the rooftop. “I am not afraid of beating the
shit out of you.”
“Frank, no!” (Y/N) squealed, running towards
him and placing her palms on his chest, trying to sooth him. “There’s no need
Matt was taken aback by the smooth relationship
between them, and by Frank’s erratic heartbeat, he knew immediately that his
feelings for (Y/N) were as strong as his own. Matt was decided in not letting (Y/N)
go, but deep inside, he knew it could be a bit too late for that.
“Why don’t you tell him exactly what you were
telling me?” Frank encouraged (Y/N) by nodding at her. He knew how strong she
could be and he never doubted her. She just needed a little push.
“(Y/N)?” Matt asked, expecting the worst from
her. He deserved it, after all.
“You’re an asshole, Matt.” She started. “You’re
a dick. I mean, why? Why pretending all this time? Why the lies? Why did it
have to be just like college?” She asked. “I mean, haven’t you learnt your
goddamned lesson? Are you that much of an idiot?” She felt her voice increasing
its volume and her chest expanding with every air intake. “Seriously, Elektra
comes again, and you fall into her
trap again!” She was exasperated and
thanks to Frank’s little push, she felt empowered and invincible. Things were
different now from her college years and she was not afraid of speaking up. The
career in law had toughened her up. “And what’s worst, you’re not only lying to
me.” She pointed at herself. “Think about Foggy for once in your life, would
you? Think about how you’re turning the business you had together into shit.
Everything you’ve worked for, you’re really gonna blow it up because of her?
And don’t come with that ninja shit you’ve been rambling about, I don’t need
and I don’t want that explanation.”
She shook her head lightly. “I’m not that
heartbroken Matt,” she said after a pause, her voice had softened and her bottom
lip had started to tremble, “I’m just… tired and I’m hurt because this is like
college all over again and I thought we were all over that.”
“Tell him about the shirt.” Frank coughed.
“Oh yes!” She snapped her fingers, regaining
her confidence back. “Because how do you think I felt when I saw Elektra wearing
the shirt I gave you for your birthday? I mean, not only she was rocking it,
but it was all bloody and shit. Like, couldn’t you have at least a bit of
decency and respect for me by giving her another
thing to wear? Jesus, Matt, you’re a piece of shit.”
“I know, and—”
“No Matt, you don’t know shit.” She
interrupted. “If you knew something, you’d treat me a bit better. You know,
I’ve known Frank for a while now and as surprising as it can be, he listened to
me rambling about you, because you know what? He treats me well, and he cares
about me. And a lot. I don’t recognize you anymore, Matt…” her voice broke,
“and what’s worse… I don’t think I ever did. Just… leave, Matt. I don’t want to
see you ever again.”
“Are you saying Frank Castle is better than
“You heard the lady, man.” Frank stepped closer
to Matt, ready for the previously announced fist fight. “Leave.”
“I’m talking to her, not you.” Matt took
another step closer to the Punisher. “You don’t know her like I do.”
“Apparently I know her better, because guess
who has been picking up her pieces that I’m guessing you left today.” Frank
“You’re doing this because you like her and you
wanna get to her. I’m not an idiot, Castle.”
“I strongly disagree.” The alluded shrugged
carelessly. “Leave before I make you leave in pieces.”
“(Y/N), answer me.” Matt pleaded one last time.
“Is Frank Castle better than me?”
“You could say so, yes.” (Y/N) nodded. “Now
leave, for real, I don’t want to see you ever again or hear from you, I just
want you out of my life.” The tears pooled in her glimmery eyes and just before
she broke down, Frank’s huge arm rested around her back, giving her a sense of
safety and support. “You can keep all the things I gave you, or better, give
them to Elektra, I’m sure she’ll enjoy them.” She bitterly spat.
“Let’s get you inside.” Frank softly said,
placing a hand on the small of her back. “Red, get outta here.” His voice
turned from soft into a growl. Matt licked his lips and nervously and had no
other choice but leaving. (Y/N) was right, he was a piece of shit and he
realized that exact same minute that the one thing that kept him on the normal
side was her and that he had lost her forever. She didn’t even see him leave.
Once they were inside, Frank put some water to
boil and (Y/N) went to her bedroom to change into something more comfortable.
This was the second time she broke up with Matt, and it hurt as much as the
first time did. She stayed in her bedroom, crying almost naked for everything
that had happened. It hurt her seeing how little he had learnt and how little
he cared about what they had. It was incredible how Elektra could change him,
just flicking a switch on him.
“(Y/N)?” Frank knocked on her door, startling
her and making her dress up quickly. “I made you some tea, I’ll be waiting for
you in the living room…”
“Thank you, Frank.” She stammered.
When she got out, she discovered Frank smiling slightly
at her and holding the cup in one of his huge hands. She took it gladly, and
took a sip from it. She muttered a ‘thank you’ and wrapped one of her arms
around his wide torso. She tried to keep herself together, but truth be told,
she couldn’t. Fortunately, Frank was there to keep her broken pieces from
falling away. His arms were like glue to her breaking heart.
“I know you like me, Frank…” she whispered, “I’m
not an idiot.” Frank chuckled and nodded.
“Yeah, not like I’ve been trying to hide it…”
“But why listening all my blabbering about Matt?”
She looked up to him. “I mean, I was hurting you and you never stopped me, and
I’m sorry for not sto—”
“You were not hurting me, (Y/N).” Frank laughed
heartedly. “I mean, it wasn’t my favorite topic to discuss, but…” He shrugged.
Out of a sudden, he lets go of (Y/N) and goes away to sit on the couch. He
tapped on the spot next to him and she took the invitation. “I like you, ok? I
like you a lot,” he nodded at her, “but I do have a ridiculously elevated
amount of respect for you, so I’m not gonna push’ya into something you don’t
want. I might be a nutjob, but I understand the meaning of limits.”
“Frank Castle has feelings, after all.” (Y/N)
smiled lightly and leaned her head on his shoulder. “Thank you.” She sighed
after a long silence. “Just thank you.”
“Don’t mention it.” Frank lovingly kissed the
top of her head and leaned his big head on hers.
Hello, I have finally done this! Look at me actually doing things! :)
(Note: don’t be Andrew in this. The fish are trying to quit smoking; don’t enable them.)
Sometimes, Neil couldn’t quite think about his time on the run in a straightforward sort of way. It all twisted in on itself, becoming something summarized and nonlinear. There were posted signs all around it in Neil’s brain: Do not attempt to touch the memory lump; do not attempt to feed the memory lump.
So, when Matt asked, Neil really couldn’t say how long ago it had been that he’d been on a boat. Eight names. That was all he could say about it – eight names ago. How many years ago, how old he’d been, he couldn’t really say for sure.
Andrew would know. Andrew would be able to translate. But Andrew had disappeared for the moment, and Neil couldn’t very well say to Matt, “It was back when my name was Stefan.” So, Neil shrugged.
I Have a Very Specific Skill Set (Matt Murdock x reader)
Request: Could you please write a
Matt Murdock x reader fic where the reader is working with a crime boss to make
ends meet and she ends up fighting Matt, who tries to convince her to leave the
criminal life. She’s reluctant because it’s hard to find good work with her
skill set. Maybe with some flirtatious tension between the two as they fight?
“Fog! I’m gonna run
out for coffee!” Matt called across their small shared law office, hurrying
towards the door before his partner could object. The heat from the city streets was filling
the room, and the sound of fans that did nothing more than circulate it were
drowning out his voice. He should have
known better than for that to be enough to help, because in an office this
size, there was no getting away without hassle if Foggy’s bullshit radar had

Talking to @geek-fashionista about that new Voltron image with Shiro and Matt and she told me to just imagine Matt getting to talk to Pidge through Shiro’s communicator. So I did. ^_^ Enjoy!
There was as sudden crackling noise by Shiro’s head, causing him to flinch involuntarily before he realized it came from the speakers inside his helmet. His breath caught in his throat as an impossible hope swelled up and grabbed his lungs.
“Shiro?” Matt was looking at him, concerned. “What is it?” But all the Paladin could do is raise his hand for him to wait.
“Hello?” he asked, a touch louder than he normally might. “Is anyone there? Team Voltron, can you hear me? Do you copy?”
“….-ro? ….ou th…”
A snatch, oh God, a tantalizing snatch of a familiar voice.
“Hello? Yes, I’m here! Guys? Can you hear me?”
“…hear…Yes! There we go! Shiro?! Do you copy?” Coran!
He gasped in relief, his exhale almost sounding like a sob. “Yes, I copy! I hear you loud and, well, mostly clear!” His grin was so wide and honestly happy that Matt couldn’t help but smile, too, watching him. He could hear little snatches of the voice on the other end of the communication, like listening to someone else’s phone conversation. Suddenly, though, Shiro grabbed him by the arm and brought him closer, so they were facing each other. “Is everyone alright? Is everyone there?”
“We’re alright,” Allura’s voice came through only about half staticy. “We’re all here and have been turning the universe upside down trying to find you.”
Shiro laughed. “Well, you found me. And not just that. Pidge? You listening?”
“Yeah, I’m here,” she sounded happy, if maybe a little confused. Why was Shiro singling her out? She probably would have paid money to see Matt’s expression at the exact moment he heard his sister’s voice.
“There’s someone here who wants to talk to you.”
The two former prisoners shared a significant look, laden on a breathless moment in the heartbeat before Matt unstuck his voice and said, “Katie…?”
There was some kind of choked noise that got mostly lost in static, then a sudden confusion of voices clambering on top of each other.
“Is that who I think it is?!” “You broke her!” “She can CRY? I didn’t know she could cry!!” “Your name is KATIE?”
