i think he gets confused sometimes

I just love how high of a tolerance level Keith has for Lance who’s always egging him on, challenging him, talks a lot, and is so goofy sometimes.

Most of the time Keith is just making faces at him

or he’s just confused af

or he’s like: “Get the f away from me,” because he really doesn’t want to deal with him

then there’s those moments where he’s just done with Lance

And others where he’s like “Why do I even associate myself with this dude?”

But he never actually gets angry at him and if he does it’s very rare, he more gets annoyed

Keith literally handles Lance so well for a guy who’s so impulsive and has a pretty short temper, and I think that’s really cute.

Pairings: It’ll be a Peter x reader

Requested:  Hey can you write one where the avengers go to recruit a girl they heard about? She lives in the deep woods and uses magic. When they find her they weren’t expecting someone so young since she’s only like 14-15. They start having second thoughts but she shows them that she can handle herself. She also wants revenge cause hydra killed her family trying to get to her.

A/N: I made the reader a little older and i hope it’s not a problem. I really liked the request and i have a big idea how to continue this. I hope you like it and if so let me know in order to post a Part 2 and maybe more ;) Enjoy (and sorry for the mistakes)

It was Saturday and everyone in the Avenger tower was finally able to relax. The whole week represented a lot of missions, hours of training and a serious lack of sleep. Today had to be their day off. Nat was trying to find an interesting film on the TV but for now with no luck. Steve was in his room immersed in his thought for the present again. Tony, as always, was doing something in his laboratory with Bruce but this time they weren’t eager to make a progress so fast, so they were mostly telling each other jokes rather than work. Clint and Vision, unusually, were cooking whatever they could think of while Peter, Wanda and Thor were ready to become tasters. Everything was going fine until a familiar and detestable sound reached their ears.

“Good morning, Avengers.”, said Colson, “How are you in this sunny and beautiful day?”

“Oh, hey Son of Col! We are perfect.”, Thor answered with a bright smile on his face.

Now everyone was in the living room looking at the man in a black suit showing on the huge TV.

“If you have to tell us something good then go on, if not…better fuck yourself.”

“Well, I’m glad to see you too, Romanoff.”, the man looked with a smile at the red-head and then turned again to the whole gang, “Okay, I will go to the main part. Three days ago something extraordinary happened in woods north of Minnesota.”, bellow him appeared some photos, “As you see, some of the trees are burnt but definitely not from a fire, and this one.”, a photo showing something like spikes coming from the ground became in view.

“What the hell is this?”, Peter exclaimed, “How is that even possible?”

“That’s what you have to find out.”

“What?! No!”, Tony said angrily. “No! Not going to happen! We have a day off, Colson!”

“I know you do, but it’s important. Given the fact it’s like 7km away from a Hydra base, it may be someone used for an experiment. And we need only three or four of you to go and check.”, the man announced.

“I’m in!”, Wanda said with no hesitations.

“Count me, too”, Clint raised his hand to show that he’s ready.

“And me.”

“Peter, you are not going.”, Tony declared.

“Why not? We only have to check what’s going on, that’s all.”

“He is right Tony, and I will go, too.”, Steve stated and the four of them received the needed information.

“I’m sick of Mr. Stark treating me like a kid.”, Peter breathed out as he and the other three avengers were getting in the helicopter.

“But you are a kid, Pete.”, Steve sat down and put his belt on. The others followed his actions and soon they were high above the ground.

“That’s not what I mean. I may be a kid as I am that young but I can look after myself. I can do things just like you guys. I want and I can become a hero. It seems he…he doesn’t want me to be one.”

“You know that’s not true.”, Wanda tried to calm the boy down, “He is just afraid. You and either I are new in all of this, but he, Steve and Clint are deep in this dangerous world and know what it costs to be a hero.”

“Wanda is right, boy. I share Stark’s thoughts but not completely. If you want to be a hero, you must know that you risk the lives of your beloved ones – family, friends, girlfriends… We all have experienced the feeling of losing someone; we just don’t want you to go through this at that young age.”, Clint said while checking his arrows.

“But don’t worry, we’ll be beside your back.”, Steve patted Peter’s shoulder and till the end of the flight nobody spoke.

Two hours later the group was finally at the mentioned place. There was no place for the helicopter to land so the heroes had to get down with the help of a rope.

“So…which direction should we go?”, Clint questioned as he, the last one, got on the hard ground.

“North.”, Steve looked at his compass to make sure he was right and then led the gang towards the destination.

“Why would somebody stay so deep In the woods?”, Peter decided to break the silence.

“I don’t think they are just staying there, Pete.”

“They are hiding.”, Wanda respond back.

“Why do you think so?”

“Colson said that there is a Hydra base in the distance…I think whoever managed to escape, is now terrified and…and angry.”

“How can you be so sure? Hydra probably sent out somebody to see if he can cooperate and serve them.”, the way Steve retorted back showed he had no good feeling towards the organization.

“Because I can feel it!”

“What do you mean?”, Peter was so confused given the fact he was new and didn’t have much information about the Hydra thing and Wanda’s powers.

“Sometimes I can either get in your head or memories, or feel your emotions.”

Steve was about to say something back as his anger has somehow unlocked but Clint was the one to stop them from a fight.

“Guys! We have a work to do and right now it’s in front of us.”, Hawkeye showed the previously seen spikes, which were like 10 meters away from them, “Can you solve your problems when we are back in the base, and I am away from your childish behavior?”

Wanda and Steve looked a little ashamed while Peter was still standing there with a stupid expression on his face while trying to figure the things out. While going to the strange and kind of a scary place the gang saw some burnt trees, others had a burnt hand mark on them, others were still up but their leaves were dry. As they were becoming closer a change in the temperature was felt.

“It wasn’t that hot minutes before. I’m sweating in this costume and now my body is itching like crazy.”, Parker announced as he began scratching.

“It’s coming from the inside.”

The spikes coming from the ground were making something like a dome. The sharp sides were touching at the top, while at the bottom they were forming a circle. This ‘structure’ was definitely made for some sort of protection.

“Maybe the person is inside this thing.”

“I will try to break it. Step back.”, Wanda commanded and then, using her magic, she broke one of the spikes. As she did so, another one grew but not upwards. Instead the spike with its sharp side directed at her body was about to kill her if it wasn’t Steve to save her.  They both fell on the ground while the others two tried to save themselves from the other deadly formations that suddenly appeared from the ground.

“What the hell was that?!”, Clint exclaimed as he tried to catch his breath.

“I don’t know but we better find a way to…”, Peter was interrupted from Wanda’s scream to watch out. But his spider senses had already informed him about a danger. He jumped and used his webs to get on a high tree.  From up there he managed to notice the small aperture.

“I can get there and I will. Don’t try to stop me, we are losing time. When I get there you will attack and try to ruin this shield. Got it?”, the young boy notified the others through his micro earphone, “Let’s have some fun.”, Peter put his mask on and jumped from the tree. He landed just a meter away from the wanted place but as soon as his foots touched the spikes others began appearing. With his fastness he got in the hole seconds before getting seriously injured.

Although he has done it before, this time Peter made his superhero landing on his ass.

“Shit, that hurts.”, he cursed out but as soon as he did he was thrown against the strong wall made from the spikes.

“Tell me who the hell you are or I’ll kill you.”, a sweet, yet dry voice reached his ears. He looked up and saw a girl around his age standing defensive opposite him with a rage written on her face.

“I’m Pet-, shit! No, I’m Spiderman and I-”, but the boy was interrupted by being sent to the ‘wall’ again.

“You are lying! If Hydra is sending you, which I am sure about, you are gonna die in agony. They’ll finally see what I am capable of! That’s what they want, isn’t it?”, the girl screamed and clenched fists. Peter, who was thrown again, managed to see what she was doing and how she was capable of whisking him wherever she wanted. The guy soon realized she was a witch just like Wanda.

“I have no idea what you are talking about. We are here to help you”, as soon as those words were spoken, the girl was ready to make that boy shut up by repeating her previous actions but Peter was faster. He sent webs towards her hands, sticking them on one of the spikes. She tried to escape but with in vain. Peter used this opportunity to scan the girl. She was his height, with a (y/h/t) (y/h/c) hair, (y/e/c) now full with anger. Her clothes were dirty and scattered, her face slightly sunken maybe due to the lack of food.

Suddenly the whole structure was hit and a part of it ruined down. The girl used this as an opportunity to go away and this time she managed. She began running but the boy shoot web at her and stopped her. The witch fell on the ground and looked at the four people standing meters away.

“I’ll kill you!”, she screamed and sent a stone towards the group. Wanda was the one to create a shield with her magic and protect her friends. The girl’s eyes widen as she saw that somebody had powers just as her.

“Stop attacking us and just listen!”, Wanda spoken calmly.

“We are here to help you, don’t need to be afraid.”, a man with a soft voice gave his hand to help her stand. The girl looked up and was met by a dirty blonde hair and kind blue eyes.

“C-captain America?”

Some more headcanons about Peter growing up on Yondu’s ship

part 1

  • Yondu not having any idea what Terrans eat so he tries to give Peter like, raw meat and stuff, and Peter is disgusted and Yondu is confused (“What’s wrong, boy? It’s fresh! Eat it!”). Though Peter is even more bummed out when he finds out there’s no McDonalds in space.
  • Peter wanting video games but Yondu telling him flying an M-ship is way more exciting than any video game (“All right, if it is, let me fly one!” “You’re too young to fly, you’ll crash.” “No, I won’t! If I can’t play games, at least let me try!” “I said no!” “But Yonduuuuu!” “You’re an annoying little bugger, you know that?” *grumbling and muttering* “All right, follow me, you can give Tulk’s old ship a try, but you put one mark on it- one mark, one spill on the dash- and you don’t get to give it another shot til you’re fourteen.” “KRAGLIN! YONDU’S GONNA LET ME FLY!”)
  • Peter trying to tell the Ravagers about Halloween, but they just don’t get it, and when he scavenges the materials to dress up as a pirate, they don’t notice anything different (except Kraglin, who says, “Nice hat, Pete,” when a rather deflated Peter walks by in full costume).
  • Members of other factions sometimes thinking Kraglin is Peter’s dad, and Yondu getting lowkey pissed off about it (“Course that’s not his dad, ya moron! Quill, get back on the ship and stop causing trouble.”)
  • Kraglin losing his blaster and freaking out cause he can’t find his spare and Peter says, “Just go ask Yondu for one!” and Kraglin is like, “He’ll get mad!” and Peter is confused because apparently, “I do it all the time whenever I lose something, he doesn’t care,” which is weird, because last time Kraglin lost something and went to Yondu to see if he knew where it was, Yondu snapped at him, “If you don’t keep an eye on your stuff, it’s not my problem when you can’t find it.”
  • The crew getting new communication devices and Peter texting with Kraglin all the time so Yondu gets suspicious and is always nosing on Peter’s end (“Who you writing to all the time, boy? You planning a mutiny?”)
  • Peter going through puberty and everyone on the whole ship making fun of his voice cracking up to the point where he ends up getting in a fight with someone because he’s so sick of it and Yondu has to drag them apart and scold them both for being immature, but as he’s walking away, he imitates Peter too.
  • Peter getting his hands on an electric guitar and keeping half the crew from sleeping with his late-night shredding until Yondu finally starts locking Peter’s guitar in his cabin every night at 11:00 (“Kraglin, Yondu said I’m not allowed to practice sick riffs past 11:00…” *Kraglin internally fist-pumps* “Aww, sorry Pete.”)
  • Peter going on his first solo mission and Yondu being on edge the whole time, which means he’s extraordinarily irritable toward the crew, so they all come to dread Peter’s missions because Yondu’s so unpleasant while he’s gone.
  • Peter getting arrested on some planet and Yondu bailing him out the next morning. Peter’s mad at Yondu for not doing it the night he got in, but according to Yondu, every Ravager should spend at least a couple nights of their life in jail, and though he doesn’t say it, he’s pretty proud of Peter for having done something that could get him time.

You were over at Taehyung’s, on the couch with him and Jimin watching a movie. Sadly, you weren’t paying too much attention to it because tomorrow you were trying out for a seniors dance showcase. It was a big deal for seniors, it was what they worked for all four years. This would be what they would perform for tons of people and entertainment scouters. Your school was known for helping dancers get jobs after this showcase at the end of the year.

Sally Jackson, Mother to All
  • So I’ve been thinking, and we all know how most of the demigods don’t have a good parental figure in their life
  • And then there’s Sally Jackson, who, let’s be real, is the kind of person to look after all of them
  • Just imagine Annabeth being all nervous on her first dinner there as Percy’s girlfriend because Sally isn’t just her friend’s mom, it’s her boyfriend’s mom now
  • But of course Sally makes her feel at ease straight away by joking around with her and taking sides with her against Percy playfully
  • And pretty much from then on Sally is the mother she never had, because Annabeth loves Sally, and they spend days together doing the kind of things neither of them would ever do with Percy like going shopping
  • Just imagine Jason coming over for dinner sometimes and Sally hugging him hello and goodbye, and Jason has never, ever been given a hug by someone so comforting, and he can close his eyes and pretend he has a mother
  • And think about Sally helping Piper out with the cooking because they both love creating new dishes and just having so much fun
  • And Piper’s never got much affection or just been able to spend a normal day with her father, the best she got is Jane taking her to McDonald’s to buy her lunch, and she just cannot stop smiling
  • And Hazel, oh my gods, Hazel is so confused about modern life at first (of course) and sometimes she can’t help but feel out of place
  • But Sally just understands, she gently helps Hazel get used to everything, because I think sometimes we forget Hazel is thirteen and has never had a proper parental figure, and Sally gives her that
  • Imagine Sally reminding Leo of his own mom
  • Like obviously not the building things or anything, but just the way Sally goes the extra mile to make people feel better, or by just always smiling at people, and referring to them affectionately
  • Leo pretends like he doesn’t really care that much, but deep down he loves it
  • At first Frank is really shy around Sally, especially the first time when Percy invites him over
  • And obviously Sally can tell, so she doesn’t push it or anything
  • Slowly Frank gets more and more comfortable around her, especially after that time Sally helped him plan a date with Hazel and it’s pretty much the best date either of them go on
  • And eventually it comes to the point where if any of them have a problem or they are just feeling down, it doesn’t even matter if Percy’s there or not, they can just go talk to Sally, and she is always willing to help
  • Just generally imagine all the demigods loving Sally and she is able to give them what so many of them have never had
  • And just think of Percy seeing all of this and being so happy because he knew it all along: he has the best mother in the whole entire world
Why Doesn’t Keith Remember Pidge from the Kerberos Launch?

???????

Keith you were literally in the background of some of those pics, how are you so oblivious?

Unless he did remember and was playing along to keep her secret, but I kinda doubt that Keith has that kind of acting ability…though it seems like he and Matt know each other so you’d think he’d recognize Matt at least? Idk man I hope we get some good pre-Kerberos exposition sometime soon, this is confusing af

Linguistics in DGM

So I know I’ve seen it said somewhere that the exorcists would probably speak multiple languages (and by extension so would… pretty much everyone in the Order tbh).

I imagine it’s a bit of a headache if you’re a newcomer. The Order doesn’t really seem to think too much about its members unless they’re super important, after all, so I doubt they’d provide much by way of lessons.

So you get to the European headquarters and you’re just immediately bombarded with hundreds of languages. One man is shouting at another in German. A woman walks by, greeting you in Greek. And maybe you speak Spanish, but you’re not from Spain; you just transferred over from the North American branch and you can’t decide if the man speaking to you is using idioms from other languages or if that’s just slang in Spain or, hell, if it’s a slang term exclusive to the Order itself because the Order is just a huge blend of languages swirling together, so that could happen.

Please give me Lenalee speaking German or Russian—you know, one of those languages perceived as intimidating. Really, she’s being perfectly friendly, but you don’t understand what’s being said. Trust me, there’s nothing more intimidating than your German-speaking relative bellowing how pretty you are in German and you not understanding (although I highly doubt Lenalee’s going to be bellowing in German).

Please give me Allen trying to fluster some poor schmuck in a game so he just switches languages and starts speaking one of the Latin languages like Italian and it works because of course it does. It’s Allen for crying out loud. When that boy wants to charm you, he is going to charm you—even if it’s in another language.

And you can generally tell how long someone has been at the Order by how many languages they speak or even how garbled their accent is from picking up so many other different accents.

But wait, what about the Clan? Do we think about them? There’s literally thousands of years of memory stored there, guys. You can bet they speak lots of languages.

Sitting in on a dinner with the family might be fun; they might start speaking some ancient languages completely unknown to the world. Or maybe Bondomu starts shouting in an obscure, old dialect of Japanese.

Tyki answers in the same dialect and then looks confused because he most certainly doesn’t even know Japanese in the first place but Wisely just tells him that yes, that is a thing now.

But sometimes, sometimes when things get really serious, Adam will start speaking Hebrew and everyone will get very, very quiet, because that’s the language of the original scripture—Adam is speaking of the past, and their hearts ache when they think of what happened to them, what the Innocence did.

hc: when dick's really stressed he will literally last on an hour or two of sleep a night and neglect to eat like, real meals. i know ur as much of a sucker for dick grayson fluff as i am, i just love the idea of his sibs being like "youre so stupid how are you still alive, even tim eats power bars before patrol and catches catnaps when he's not working on something, why are you like this"

Anonymous asked:  “It’s okay. I’m used to it.” with Dick please?

So, sorry I took a few days to get to this headcanon. I kind of ended up turning into a 3k+ story. Hope that’s okay. Also, this is more hurt/comfort than angst, I think. There’s some fluff right there in the middle, too.

Thanks to @timdrakeothy, because without you, I don’t know if I would have had the inspiration to continue this story. I was very stuck, and you helped out without even knowing it. So thanks!

Also, thank for 500 followers (it’s almost 600 now, but I meant to get a milestone fic out ages ago when I hit 500)!

Tim freezes, because he’d thought he’d just heard—that’s Dick’s voice coming from down the hallway. Which means that Dick is still awake. At four in the morning. After rough patrol that had lasted hours longer than usual.

Well, that doesn’t spell anything good, Tim thinks, and he creeps down the hallway to peek into Dick’s bedroom through the small crack letting soft light spill into the hallway. Tim spots Dick immediately, and he’s lying on the floor, one hand covering his eyes and the other holding his phone to his ear.

“No,” Dick says vehemently, but he’s really still and tense. He sounds exhausted, though, and his next words come out much softer than that first one. “No. I’m fine. Don’t—No, Wally. It’s okay. I’m used to it.”

Dick goes silent, and Tim imagines that Wally’s talking up a storm, even at four am. But then—

“Just—chill, Wally,” Dick says into the phone. “If you don’t stop yelling at me, I’m going to hang up. And then if you still want to yell at me you’ll have to find a way into the manor without Bruce finding out. So just—No. No.”

There’s a pause, and Tim thinks that he should probably start moving. This doesn’t sound like a conversation he wants to be in the middle of. He’s just about to creep down the hallway again towards his original destination—the kitchen, where he’d accidentally left his laptop—when another bedroom door opens from behind him. Tim turns around just as Damian storms out, stomping down the hall towards Tim.

“What is going on?” Damian hisses, doing that thing where he thinks he’s the boss of everything and Tim is obligated to answer him. But he looks—well. He looks kind of concerned, actually, and this is Dick.

“He and Wally are arguing about something,” Tim says, nodding towards Dick’s bedroom, where Dick’s conversation had turned up a couple of notches. “I don’t think he’s tried to sleep tonight, yet, either.”

If anything, I hope this will get Alec to not take Magnus for granted.

It’s not wrong that Alec asks Magnus for help. And it’s not wrong that Magnus agrees to help him. But lately it seems that’s what Alec is always doing: asking for help. First because of Jace, then because of Izzy / Azazel. He loves and cares about Magnus, a lot; we saw how utterly terrified he was when he thought Magnus was dead. But it doesn’t change the fact that, lately, Alec is almost counting with Magnus’ help as something granted.

I know Alec loves and cares about Magnus, it’s not that he stays with Magnus because is “convenient” or anything like that. No, I truly believe in Alec’s love for Magnus, even if he doesn’t know how to express himself very well. But still… Alec is asking a lot lately. And I know they’re in the middle of a war and Alec is needing a lot of help lately and Magnus is willing to help, but people is always asking and Magnus is always helping and…

It’s not that in this 2x12 sneak peek Alec is demanding Magnus’ help or anything like that, he’s just confused because Magnus always helps when Alec asks. But that’s exactly the point: Alec is getting used to receive Magnus’ help… Just as Magnus is used to people asking things from him.

I don’t want Alec to be one more in Magnus’ list of “people making demands”. I don’t want Magnus getting “used” to Alec asking things from him. Again, I know that Alec loves Magnus for who he is, not for his magic, but sometimes it’s necessary to show it, not just think it or feel it. Alec needs to show that he is there for Magnus, even if Magnus doesn’t help him. I think Magnus needs to see it, too, specially with the hell he’s going through now.

I want to believe Alec will always manage to be different from the people that take Magnus’ help for granted. After all, Magnus said it himself:

Gemini moon: *extremely talkative*

Gemini moon’s mother: I wonder why you talk so much? I mean don’t get me wrong I love that about you sweetie but my GAWD I’ve always wondered who you get that from? It must be your father he NEVER shut up! No wait, probably your grandmother ugh! That woman always used to go on and on and on into infinity. I can never concentrate! It’s like you open your mouth and all that comes out is incoherent nonsense and it’s so endless I never know when you’re going to stop and I try to talk to you and you’re still going on about lord knows what it sounds like the radio and the tv are on at the same time sweetie maybe tone it down a bit? breathe? I used to think you had asthma with all the talking you did and all the breaths you had to take before you just went on again! Don’t even get my started with how I catch you talking to yourself sometimes–you know what? its definitely from your grandfather, oh boy could that man TALK your ear off and he talked about random things and couldn’t stay on one single topic! it was so confusing to listen to him just like you?? I guess we’ll never know which person your chattiness came from, wow what a mystery!!!

kahuna-burger  asked:

Hey, since you have trouble touching people without stabbing them, but like cuddling pets, have you considered trying to hug T'Challa? Or possibly getting Tony to put on cat ears?

you have a serious flaw in your logic.

tchalla is a cat-man who has repeatedly tried to claw my face off. it was freakin traumatizing. you think a normal cat that doesnt wanna be petted is bad, try getting handsy with tchalla.

not that ive gotten handsy with tchalla. i like my face attached to my person, thank you very much.

tony put on cat ears a few months ago in a fit of confused sleep deprivation. the picture circulated through avengers-related group chats for weeks. nick fury called it, and i quote, ‘fucking adorable.’ tony is sometimes a no-toucher too though, so mostly we let him initiate contract when he wants to. so no, i did not hug tony when he was wearing cat ears.

steve did have to carry him to bed though. and that picture circulated for months

Yours to Hold

Jughead x Reader

Jughead is dating Betty,  and the reader is doing everything in their power to make sure that he doesn’t find out they like him. Based on the requested song: Yours to Hold by Skillet.

Warnings: Swearing (like one, again.)

Word Count: 2,240

A/N: This kind of took on a mind of it’s own as I kept writing. I had an idea for this being like super sad but like I never want Jug to be hurt ever so I let my hands write while my mind wandered. I was also thinking about doing a literal interpretation of the lyrics, but I wasn’t feeling that either. This felt right, i guess? It’s more metaphorical. I hope it’s still okay!

i see you standing here

but you’re so far away

starving for your attention

you don’t even know my name

Betty and Jughead had been an official couple for two months. Two months you had to push down your feelings you’ve had for him since grade nine. Two months you couldn’t walk down the hall without trying to avoid eye contact with both of them. Two months of your heart breaking over and over, every time you saw him climb to her window from your house across the street. You never pegged yourself for the girl next door, but here you were anyway. Although you were pretty sure that this time you wouldn’t be getting the guy.  It tore you up inside, always being the one that likes but isn’t liked back. It’s not like you and Jughead were close, you reasoned with yourself, so it’s not like he would’ve known, but you were good enough acquaintances to nod to each other in the hallway or share glances in the classroom when the teacher said something stupid.

You mainly knew Jughead and Betty and Archie through Veronica, your closest friend since she moved here at the end of last summer. You guys were a perfect fit, she needed someone spill her secrets to and you were someone who wouldn’t tell a soul. Who would you have to tell, anyway? The most social interaction you had was when you went to art club, but even then you kept to yourself and your drawings. Your drawings couldn’t hurt you.

What did hurt you, though, is that sometimes, on the best occasion, Jughead would come to you. Well, he would come sit beside you. You would draw in Pop’s diner late at night when you didn’t feel any inspiration from the school studio, so he would come and sit across from you with his laptop to write. It only happened once or twice, but every time it did your stomach started to turn and you couldn’t help but smile as your pencil hit the paper. It only hurt because it didn’t happen every day.

You were at your locker, going through the motions until you could go to the art room at the end of the day, and you were about to get books for your next class when Ronnie saunters up beside you.

“Hey girl, you hear the news?” she asks, her books wrapped in her arms, her bag slung over her shoulder in a way that only she could make fashionable.

“What?” you ask, exchanging the books in your hand for the ones on the top shelf. You grab your sketchbook, secretly filled with drawings and pictures taken of Ronnie’s gang, random kids in the hall, and Jughead. An overwhelmingly abundance of Jughead. You like to observe just like him, you just draw what you see instead of writing it. This sketch book was your version of his novel, which of course you heard about from Ronnie who heard it from Betty.

You probably knew more than you should about them, but whenever Ronnie started talking about them,  you didn’t stop her.

“The stuff about Polly!” she smirks, knowing that she’s just egging you on.

“Polly? Betty’s sister? Why would I care about her?” you ask, closing your locker, your face scrunching up just a bit, books in hand.

“Betty told me that there’s rough water in loveland.” she says, motioning for you to walk with her down the hall.

“Really?” you try to sound disinterested, but you couldn’t help yourself.

“Mhmmmm. Betty has been so focused on her sister, and so now Jug has been cancelling plans, not showing up on time…” she trails off, looking over at you as she flips her hair over her shoulders.

“That must be… rough.” you say, unsure of how to respond.

“It’s your chance! I’ve been talking you up to all of them, I think you should make a real effort to get to know them.” she urges, turning to you and putting a hand on your arm. You were at your next class, her class just the next door down.

“You know what happened last time.” you remind her, remembering what happened when she tried to introduce you the last time. You could barely get two words out to any of them, fumbling over sentences and stuttering over the simplest of words. They all laughed it off, but there was definitely an awkward feel hanging in the air, and Jughead didn’t even look up from his laptop.

“I think you’re ready, you’re basically my best friend now, so they have to accept you. And beside, it’s my chance too.” she says, referencing her small crush on Betty as she blows a kiss and walks to her class. You sigh and roll your eyes, hoping that maybe this time she was right. Maybe this time you wouldn’t be the invisible girl in the corner, doodling in her notebook.

you’re going through so much

don’t you know that I could be the one to hold you?

It was movie night at Ronnie’s house. You were in your pajamas, which were just short shorts and a baggy t-shirt, ready to settle in to watch whatever she picked, since it was her turn.

“Did you hear?” she asks, walking in with the popcorn.

“What?” you ask, looking her up and down.

“Jug broke up with Betty.” she says, sitting down and crossing her legs.

“No, no way he would ever do that.” you say, shaking your head. That’s impossible, Jughead was head over heals for her just like you were for him, only difference is that he made his feelings public.

“He did. Betty told me that the reason he gave her was because there was someone else.” she smirks.

“No way, who?” you ask, wondering if it was maybe Josie, or even Ronnie herself.

The doorbell rings before she has a chance to answer.

“Be right back.” she says, setting the popcorn down and raising her eyebrows as she goes to the door.

A few minutes later she comes back with Archie and Jughead.

Your eyes grow wide as you stare down Veronica.
“I thought my boys could join us.” she says nonchalantly, shrugging her shoulders as she sits down to the left of you.

Archie takes a seat next to Veronica, leaving the only spot open on the right, so of course that’s where Jug sits.

You try to give him a smile without completely embarrassing yourself, and you think you see a smile as he gives you a nod of his head, his eyes lifting to look at the screen.

“Choice of movie?” you ask Ronnie, breaking the tension that had probably only been building in your mind.

“I thought we could let them decide, since they’re new members to movie night.” she says with a smile, looking from Archie to Jughead.

“I don’t know Veronica, I think whatever you pick is probably good enough.” Archie chimes in, pulling his sleeves down as he crosses his arms. It was clear that if Archie didn’t have a crush, he definitely didn’t want to get on Ronnie’s bad side.

“Alright, Titanic it is.” she says with a small laugh, getting up to put in the movie. She then dims the lights and plops right down next to you, giving you a wink as she does.

The movie begins and you sigh in relief. There’s no more talking for at least the next three hours. You lean into the back of the sofa, ready to enjoy the movie when Jughead brushes your shoulder with his. You stiffen. Was that on purpose?

You take a deep breath and begin to relax a little. Just as you do though, Jughead puts his arm around the back of the couch, inches away from your neck.

You glance at Ronnie, wondering if she’s seeing any of this. The smirk on her face says it all. The movie isn’t even 15 minutes in and you can’t seem to stand it anymore. You get up and mumble something about getting a drink, going to her kitchen to get yourself a glass of water. You take a deep breath.

You turn around and run straight into Jughead, spilling water not only all over yourself, but all over him too.

“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry.” you manage to get out, scrambling to find where Ronnie keeps her paper towels or washcloths, or anything.

“Don’t worry about it, it fits the theme.” he says, gesturing back towards the screen. You can’t help but chuckle at the comment. Sometimes you forget how funny Jughead can be.

“Yeah I guess so. ‘I’ll never let go, Jack.’” you mimic the movie in a high pitch voice, but still low enough to not disturb your friends in the other room.

“Do you wanna get out of here? I mean Titanic is great and all, but I do not want to be here when they start making out.” he scoffs.

“Who? Rose and Jack?” you question, a look of confusion on your face. You didn’t think that part was so bad.

“No, Archie and Veronica.” he corrects, a smirk playing on his lips, “dinner at Pop’s? You’re buying. It’ll make up for the water damages.”

You turn to notice that Archie has his hand on the back of the couch over Veronica, just like Jughead did with you.

He turns and walks away without another word, going out to his car, you guessed. Only then did you start to panic. Did Jughead Jones just ask you out? Was this backwards upside down reverse april fools day or something?

You grab your backpack and head for the door, only then realizing that you’re still in pajamas. You shake your head at the thought, this wasn’t a date. This was just his lame attempt at finding an excuse to get out of movie night. This would be just like the other times, where you would sit in silence.

you will see someday

that all along the way

i was yours to hold

Sitting in Pop’s on a late Friday night was like a low-key therapy session. You just hoped Ronnie wouldn’t be too mad that you left without telling her, but she seemed preoccupied and you were pretty sure she would understand.

Jughead ordered a burger and a milkshake while you just had a water. You couldn’t risk any food stains getting in your sketchbook.

You pulled out the one you always carried around in your backpack, opening to a blank page before setting it out on the table where he could see. Unlike the last few times, though, he doesn’t pull out his laptop. He doesn’t even have his bag with him.

“No novel tonight?” you question.

He shakes his head as you pull out a pencil. He might not have his novel but you sure as hell weren’t giving up your drawing.

The first pencil stroke to the page and it’s like your hand knew automatically what to do. It went directly to the curves in his hair, the lines on his face. You were just hoping he was too focused on his food to notice.

“I’m sorry about Betty.” you say under your breath, just trying to make conversation.

“Don’t be. I realized I only liked her because she was filling a void.” he states, stirring his straw in his shake. He was trying to be poetic, you could tell.

“Void?” you ask.

“I’ve had a crush on this girl since about grade eight, been real quiet about it, not even Arch knows. We haven’t had many conversations, she seems distant, nose always in a book. I just started hanging out with her more and more recently, though, so I’m hoping I at least get a date.” he explains, hope in his eyes that you don’t see. You’re too focused on the details of his beanie.

“That’s a real quick rebound.” you say, not really paying attention.

“Not if they’ve always been there.” he says. That gets your attention, and your eyes lock with his. Was he talking about you? He couldn’t be, there was no way.

You’re too caught up in your own thoughts you don’t even realize that he’s snatched your sketchbook right from under you.

“Don’t-” you say, a little too late. He’s already looking, and that one page leads to him flipping through all of them. Page after page of his beanie, his hair, his jawline. You probably knew his features better than anyone out there.

“Wow, you really did draw me like one of the french girls.” he remarks, a huge smile on his face. You liked his smile, very much so.

He meets your gaze and sets the book down. There’s something between you, something that wasn’t there before. It was the start of something, just what it was you didn’t know yet, but it was exciting, thrilling, and it made your stomach turn into knots and your heart flutter in your chest.

“I’ve always been there, Jug.” you say, finally letting it out.

“I know,” he says, leaning closer across the table, “and I’m mad at myself for taking so long to realize it.”

Closer and closer still, you close your eyes and try to brace yourself for what’s going to be the most thrilling ride of your life. Sink or swim, this ship was one you wanted to be on.

Real Or Not Real?

What if, when they finally get Snart back, his mind is mixed up from the Oculus? He saw every possibility in every timeline on every Earth, and he’s having trouble sorting what actually happened.

So, he starts asking people. Not many people, just the people he trusts most. He’ll give them a scenario, and they’ll tell him if it’s real or not.

~~~~
“My favorite color was blue,” he starts one day, raising his eyebrows. “Real or not real?”
Sara rolls her eyes, not taking her eyes off her punching bag. “Not real. Just told everyone it was.”
~~~~

“Robert Queen is the Green Arrow,” he tries one day, a headline flashing through his head.

“Not real,” Stein tells him, before pausing. “His son, Oliver, is.”

Leonard’s not quite sure why he’s telling him that.

~~~~
“Emma Watson is president,” he offers, leaning against the console.
Jax laughs. “Not real, unfortunately.”
~~~~

“I nearly killed you,” he mutters, and this one almost isn’t a question. Mick answers anyway.

“Real. But you didn’t.”

He’s not sure how much consolation that is, not with the name “Chronos” echoing in his head. A question for another day, perhaps.

~~~~
“You broke my gun,” he drawls, crossing his arms over his chest.
Ray gulps.
“R-real. That happened after, though. You were gone, and we would have died too if-but I’m sorry about your gun. I know that-”
“Relax, Raymond. You saved my partner. Thank you.”
He can’t believe he’s letting Palmer off the hook.
~~~~

“Savitar killed Iris West” he says, and he’s almost sure of this one. Relief floods him at Rip’s reply.

“Almost. But not real, not anymore.”

~~~~
“I killed my father.” He’s pulled Barry off to the side, during a team up with Team Flash. He has to know.
“Real.” The hero watches him curiously, awaiting his reaction.
“I don’t regret it.” This, at least, isn’t a question.
~~~~

Sometimes, he asks others, but his favorite by far is Sara. He’ll spend hours asking her anything he can think of.

~~~~
“You and I nearly froze to death together.”
“Real. Wasn’t much of a fan, honestly.”
~~~~

“You were my nurse in prison.”

“Not real.”

“That’s a shame.”

~~~~
“You asked me to dance, in the seventies, and I refused.”
“That one’s real.”
“Unfortunate. It could have been fun.”
~~~~

She knows the questions are coming eventually, but they still catch her off guard.

“You kissed me.” She knows his tones now, knows the different ways he asks. He thinks this one is fake.

“Real,” she admits, not meeting his eyes. Instead, she focuses on sharpening her knife.

“I love you.” His voice is soft, barely above a whisper, but sure, and she doesn’t know if it’s even a question. Still, she has to answer.

“Real.”

“And you… Love me.” He sounds so awed, so hopeful, that every carefully crafted denial she used to keep her heart in tact after losing him and Laurel in one fell swoop dissolves.

“Real.”

~~~~
Sometimes he still gets confused.
He remembers being in Juvie for Lisa’s fifth birthday party, but she shows him pictures of him serving her cake.
He doesn’t recognize any version of Harrison Wells, but he greets Julian like an old friend.
He calls “The Wizard of Oz” “Gone With The Wind,” and no one can convince him otherwise.
Yes, he still gets a little confused, but he knows the important things.
Being Forgotten
So I was thinking about all of the teen titans that magically disappeared either in the reboot or in the middle of the series and this story just kind of happened. Sorry that it is a little confusing
-they don’t mean to forget you. They really don’t.
-It happen like it does for the rest of the them- you are there one day, gone the next.
-No one remembers you.
-Except they sort of do?
-Sometimes when Dick hears an especially funny joke he gets him phone out and gets ready to text you Someone. He doesn’t know who. Or why he would text it.
            -He’ll text Babs, but she just tells him to go to sleep and it’s not right,    someone else should be there
-Or when Babs is working hard on the computer and someone gives her a coffee without thinking she says “thanks Y/N.”
          -Everyone is confused.
          -Who’s y/n
         -and why is the name so familiar?
-Tim tells Barbara that it is because she is sleep deprived, but he can’t shake the feeling that he should know who you are.
-It goes on like this for awhile, your basically a ghost that they can’t quiet put a name to.
-they all know something is missing in the manor, but they can’t place what it is.
-it’s Damian surprisingly who remembers first.
-It’s because of a pressed flower you gave to him when he was new to the house. He found while looking through his stuff and he was confused as to why he would have it. Damian had no need for pressed pink flowers.
-suddenly a vision of you handing a young Damian the flower as a welcome gift, and Damian scouting and turning it away, only to return later and safely pocket his first ever gift and press it so he would always remember it.
-Suddenly Damian could remember everything about you!
-He ran through the manor screaming your name, trying to get everyone to remember you.
-they can’t.
-But Damian remembers you now, and he won’t ever forget, nor will he ever stop looking for you.
Here is one thing that I tell my students about competitions, which I think is absolutely crucial:
Your horse always gives you the best he has.  Sometimes his best isn’t as good as other times, due to factors such as stress, fatigue, discomfort, fear, confusion - but know this:  your horse is never willfully withholding something from you.
Similarly, you are always riding your best.  Sometimes your best is not as good as other times, due to factors such as performance anxiety, nerves, excitement, frustration, fatigue, physical discomfort, distraction.  Some of these things you may be able to get control over if you realize they are happening.  Some of them you may not be able to fix in a few minutes, or even a few sessions.
So if you go to a show and you screw up because you were nervous and that made you stiff and restricted your horse’s movement and he didn’t score as high as you thought he could based on how he performs at home, take that as feedback for something to work on.  Do not get discouraged and say, “I didn’t ride as well as I could.”  Yes, you did.  Your anxiety is a legitimate factor that inhibits your performance.  You rode as well as you could given your anxiety.  Do not beat yourself up - berating or shaming yourself is not a positive or constructive use of your time and energies.  Instead, think of ways to improve your experience next time.
Similarly, if you go to a competition and your horse is stiff or tired from the journey, or tense and distracted in a new environment, do NOT get discouraged and say, “my horse wasn’t as good as he could be.”  Yes, he was.  He was the very best he could be given his nerves, or given his fatigue.  He could not have been better on this day, with these factors influencing him.  Accept that, praise him, and find a way to help him overcome these factors next time.  Maybe he needs better fitness at home so that the journey doesn’t tire him so much.  Maybe he needs a better warm-up next time.  Maybe he needs more experience traveling and being exposed to different things.  Whatever it is, don’t hold it against him, and don’t hold it against yourself.  You both did your best.  Training yourself and your horse for competitions is a process.  I find that this simple shift in attitude makes competing and training so much more fun and fulfilling.
Pairing: Steve x Reader
Warnings: some sexual content (but obviously nothing far, i don’t write smut)
A/N: I know I don’t write for Stranger Things but LISTEN okay? I needed to write for this trash boy because despite being an actual douche I love him (character development tho) and it’s my blog, so imma write for him. And maybe if this gets enough love i’ll add Stranger Things to my fandom list once requests are back open! :)
“There’s no way you’re gonna be able to hit it.”
“Really?” You smirked, watching as your long time friend shook her head. Staring at the far distance in front of you, you narrowed your eyes in thought. You’re no athlete but you’re pretty sure, given enough force, you could hit your target. Which just so happened to be the trash can a whiles away from you. “Because I think i’m gonna.”
“I highly doubt you’re gonna hit it, Y/N.” Your friend, Jenna, stressed. “Remember that one time in gym you completely missed passing the ball to me, and- I was right in front of you!”
“That was one time!” You pouted, gripping the football in your hands with a tight grip. You’re sure you could hit it. You were determined to hit it. “Let’s make a bet, huh? If I hit it, you owe me dinner tonight and if I don’t, i’ll pay.”
Jenna paused, biting her lip in thought; you knew she’d take the bet. She loved food (just as you did) and there was no way she was gonna pass up an opportunity for free food, especially since she was so convinced you’d miss it. “Deal.” She nodded and a cocky grin spread over your lips. Looking away from your friend, you pushed your left leg back slightly, bending down and raising your hand with prestige focus.
Jenna let out a loud chuckle from behind you, you were taking this way too seriously.
Your tongue jutted out slightly in thought, staring at your intended target as you mentally counted down from three. Once you hit one, you reeled your arm and shot it forward, the football slipping from your fingers and flying before you. It was like time slowed down, that’s how serious this bet was to you. But with a disappointed gaze you watched the ball curve in the other direction you wanted it to go.
“Hah!”
Just as you were ready to accept your defeat, something else caught your attention. There, right where your ball was headed, was Steve Harrington. “Oh fuck.” And just as you finished cursing, you watched the football smack against the boys head, the offended object tilting to the left from impact as his friend, Tommy, jumped away in shock.
“Oh my god.”
“Fuck.” You repeated, running back towards Jenna. “Fuck, i’m so screwed.”
Jenna grasped your hand in surprise; “did you just hit Steve Harrington in the head with a football?”
Steve stood up from his seat on the bleachers, grasping his head in pain and your sure you heard him yelling out a slue of curses. His eyes darted around, finding the football and picking up the now dangerous weapon. You watched Steve’s eyes fall on you, and you suddenly felt stuck as you met his eyes across the field.
“You just hit Steve Harrington with a football.” Jenna clarified, watching the entire thing go down.
Steve suddenly smirked and you panicked, taking a step back. “Go!” You called, pulling Jenna along with you as you turned the other way and ran off in a hurry. Though, while you were more than concerned, Jenna found this highly amusing.
“She says sorry!” Jenna called, waving at Steve.
“Shut the hell up, Jenna!”
“Sorry,” she laughed, finally catching up with your speed. “But hey, at least you’re buying dinner.”
With a sigh, you clicked open your locker. It had been an increasingly long and exhausting day; especially since you spent the entire day trying to avoid Steve. It was only the next day, and you knew Steve, he’s not one to forget something like hitting him in the head with a goddamn football.
It wasn’t like you were scared of him, on the contrary you’re almost positive you could whoop his ass if needed. It was more that you didn’t know what he was going to do, would he be mad? Would he and his friends try to pull something? You weren’t sure, Steve Harrington was a complete mystery to you and the only time you’ve ever spoken to him was that one time for a school project, two years ago.
But it was the end of the day, meaning you could go home and not worry about it until tom-
“Y/N-”
Your locker slammed shut before your eyes, you jumping back from surprise. Looking over to see who had just rudely shut your locker, you found just the person you’ve been trying to avoid all day. “Steve.”
“It’s nice to see you.” He smirked, setting himself against the locker next to yours and crossing his arms across his chest. Holding your hand against your chest, you tried to calm yourself down from the scare he’d given you, clutching with your other hand the strap of your bag. “You seem to be in a hurry.”
You decided to just get it over with, he was here and there’s no way you can avoid what’d happened anymore. “Look,” you sighed. “Steve i’m sorry I hit you, Jenna and I were just having some fun. I didn’t mean to make you mad or-”
“You think i’m mad?” Steve asked, his smirk faltering slightly.
You furrowed your brows, tilting your head in confusion. “Yeah? I mean why else would you…?”
“I don’t care about that.” Steve waved off, standing up straight and shoving his hands into his pockets. “I came here to ask you if you’d like to go on a date sometime.”
You fumbled for a response, his words the opposite of what you’d ever expect. You were not Steve’s type, or at least you hadn’t thought you were. You weren’t pretty like Nancy or sassy like Carol; you didn’t have spunk like half of the girls Steve hung out with or dress up. Instead you’d rather wear skinny jeans and a t-shirt, stick to your books and be on with your day.
So after sputtering like an idiot, you came out with a; “what?”
“A date. You and me.” Steve gestured to himself then you, and left his hand there.
“A date?” You repeated in a questioning tone. “With me?”
“That is what I said.”
“Are you serious? Why would you want to go on a date with me?” You paused, looking up to glare at him. “Why would I want to go on a date with you?” Steve didn’t seem to have a response to that and just as your confusion faded away, you sighed, shaking your head. “I’ve heard of your reputation Steve, i’m not willing to be fling or even- do any of that. I’m sorry, but no.”
You moved to walk away, desperate to find Jenna and tell her all about this crazy experience but instead a hand caught yours. Then you were being tugged the other way, towards Steve and your back was pressed against the locker. You froze, staring up at the boy that suddenly seemed a whole lot taller then he did a second ago. You were so glad it was the end of the day, as everyone was mainly go and not able to watch what was happening.
“A study date then.” Steve smirked, staring down at you with a piercing gaze. You felt your breath get caught in your throat, the close proximity pulling you away from rational thinking. “You hit me in the face, I think you owe me at least a study date.”
Pause. “O-Okay.”
“Great.” Steve smiled, pushing off the locker and finally creating some distance between the two of you. As he stood before you, you felt like you were finally able to breathe. Then he stepped forward, slipping a piece of paper into your palm. “Meet me there tomorrow after school.”
The second he was gone, you let out a heavy breath. Why the hell had you said yes?
The next day you found yourself walking the path to Steve’s house. He lived farther away then you’d known and seemed to be a singular house hidden away from many others, making you regret your decision even further.
You hadn’t originally planned to go but Jenna had convinced you, somehow. “When do girls like us ever get asked out by Steve Harrington?!”
“What does it even matter?” You had muttered, “we don’t need guys like Steve.”
“True,” Jenna had complied before a huge grin spread over her lips. “But do it for me?”
“Fine.”
And that’s how you found yourself now. Taking a deep breath, you stared up at the gate before you, your heart pounding rapidly against your chest. You didn’t even know what you were thinking, you should just turn back. Yeah? That would be best. You didn’t know who you were trying to impress or even why you were so nervous, you’d never been like this before; so nervous over a stupid boy. But… this was Steve and you, that just didn’t even make sense
Just as you moved to walk away the gate creaked open; “Y/N!” Steve exclaimed, and reluctantly you turned to face him. “Glad you could make it.”
“You invited me.” You grumbled, walking through the gate as he opened it for you. Your eyes immediately fell on the pool that seemed to glitter before your eyes; “you have a pool?!”
Steve made his way next to you, his hands falling on top of his hips. “Yeah.” He smiled, huffing in enjoyment. You coughed lightly, shaking your head; this was stupid. Stop being so nervous. Turning to Steve, you raised an eyebrow expectantly, “so what did you need help studying for?”
“Oh, nothing.”
“What?”
“What do you mean what? What else was I suppose to say to you to convince you to go out with me?” Steve huffed, furrowing his brows as if you were the crazy one. You sighed heavily, glancing at the closed gate and towards the house; no lights were on.
“Where are your parents?”
“Out.”
You felt your heart drop, everything was too suspicious. There was no way Steve had just invited you to hang out. He’d lied and his parents weren’t home, not to mention he lived at least a few decent miles away for anyone to care. You’d been played. “I’m going.” You suddenly announced, turning towards to gate in a rush.
“Woah, wait, what?” Steve appeared before you before you even reached the gate, holding his hands by his side in surprise. He genuinely looked shocked and concerned, but you were worried it was only for play. “What’s wrong? What happened?”
“Seriously, Steve?” You spat, shaking your head as your eyes crinkled. “You lied to me, your parents aren’t home and we are fucking miles away from anyone that could hear us. Don’t think i don’t know what you want from me.” You paused, taking the short steps towards him to place your pointer finger on the middle of his chest. “I am not that kind of girl, I’m not a fling or a one night stand, Harrington. Hell, I didn’t even want to go here in the first time!”
Steve reached forward, grasping both your wrists to bring you out of your ramble. “I’m not trying to get in your pants.” You rolled your eyes and he shook his head. “No seriously, Y/N it wasn’t just because you hit me in the head. I’ve- I’ve liked you for a while now, the smack to the face just prompt me.”
You paused, unsure if you believed him or not. You wanted to, you wouldn’t lie and say the idea of being with Steve wasn’t appealing but… you knew of his reputation. “And why should I believe you?”
“Just stay, please. I’ll believe you.”
And reluctantly, you nodded.
And hour later you found yourself laughing loudly and sat against one of Steve’s beach chairs. You clutched your stomach in pain as your eyes began to tear with enjoyment as Steve reenacted when he’d been smacked by the ball.
“How’d you even do that?” Steve asked, his own chuckle dying down. “You got a pretty nasty throw for someone so small.”
You raised an eyebrow, smirking; “oh really?” You teased, “want me to show you how to throw like a girl?”
Steve laughed, shaking his head. “Go for it.”
Smiling, you accepted his dare and stood up, shaking your arms out for extra effect. Walking away from your chair and closer to the pool, you shook your body, as if you were preparing yourself for a real throw. “Watch and learn, Harrington.” And slowly, you raised your hand and cupped it as if you had a ball in between your palm and fingers. “Basically, you gotta cup the ball with a firm grip and hold a steady stance.”
“Mmm-hmm.”
You bit your lip to keep yourself from bursting out in another fit of giggles, both you and Steve aware that you were completely talking out of your ass. “Then reel back,” you demonstrated the movement. “And swing forward.” You let out a puff of air, standing up straight with a proud smirk. “And you’re done.”
Steve stood up, extinguishing his cigarette (he’d offered you one but you kindly refused) and made his way over to you. “Nuh-uh.” He smiled, shaking his head as he reached you.
You crossed your arms, “oh really? Cause i’m pretty sure i’m right.”
“Your stance is all wrong.” Steve critiqued and suddenly he was behind you, grasping your elbow slightly and pushing it up. Your breath got caught in your throat, your entire being aware of how close Steve was behind you. Yet, no part of you stopped him and instead let him move your limbs as he please. “Then kick this foot back slightly and bend your knees ever so slightly.” You followed his directions, holding your head high as his hand slid up your raised hand to grasp your hand. Slowly he intertwined your fingers and you could feel his warm breath on the back of your neck.
“Then you throw.” He mumbled lowly.
You bit you lip, “Steve?”
“No. No talking.” He shushed; “we’re at the end of the demonstration.” Then before you knew it, his hand left yours and both arms wrapped around your waist to haul you up and throw the two of you in the pool. You let out a loud yelp, surfacing under the water and Steve let go of you.
When you were able to breathe again, you let out a loud gasp, brushing your hair from your eyes and turning to a very pleased looking Steve. “You jerk,” you laughed, shooting your hand forward to splash the boy. He chuckled himself, swimming over to you as you began wiping the water from your eyes.
Slowly and smoothly he wrapped his arms around your waist again, lifting up your shirt slightly so his hands made contact with the bare skin of your stomach. Pulling you against him, Steve smiled down at you. “I’m sorry, but it was needed.”
“Oh, was it now?” You smirked, shaking your head. It was then you noticed how close the boys lips were to yours and it seemed to be the only thing you could focus on. Steve of course noticed and wasting no time for you to change your mind, he leaned down to press his wet lips against your own. You didn’t fight the kiss, and instead instantly returned it, your arms wounding around his neck.
When you pulled back, out of breath, you stared up at the boy with a nervous gaze. “You mean this, not just some one night stand?” Steve nodded, staring down at you with sincere eyes. “Promise?”
“Promise.”
… this was a lot longer than intended.
