Kadena Airport Fanfic (Based on 1x09 promo) Part 2/2

Racing into a cab, Kat could hardly focus on anything. Her body and mind ready to sprint out of the vehicle and rush through the airport to save Adena. When the car finally came to a stop, she ran out, paying the cab way more than she had to. But she didn’t care, all she could focus on was getting to Adena.

Entering the airport, Kat ran to the place where Adena said she was located. A tall man stood in front of a door.
“I’m Kat Edison, here on behalf of Adena El-Amin.”
The man mumbled something into his earpiece and then moved out of the way, letting Kat enter.
Inside, Kat saw Adena, sitting at a desk staring down at some binder filled with a bunch of papers.
“Adena!” Kat said, running towards her.
“Kat!” Adena rose from where she was sitting, a smile of relief came across her face.

“I think I may have something that will help your case,” Kat whispered to Adena as they were locked in a tender embrace.

“What?” Adena said, breaking their embrace.
Kat pulled out the letter. I also have the article Scarlet published about you on hand. Before Adena could respond, the head customs agent came through.

Kat gathered the papers she had brought with her and handed them to him.
“Here’s what you need to let Adena” stay in the country. She watched as he looked the letter and the articles over and before she could stop herself, Kat found herself speaking of Adena.

“Adena is someone who when you meet her and get to know her, you forget what your life was like before her, and you never want to go back and know what life was like without her. She’s one of the few who has a lasting impact on a person and who’s changed my life completely. Her work that she had done is so unique and special. I mean, have you ever seen photography like this?!” Kat asked pulling out photos of some of Adena’s work and laying them out on the table.
“Adena’s work is really like no other. I’ve seen the passion and incredible amount of effort and time she places into capturing just the right photo of her models. She’s able to get that one photo that is able to speak to the viewer on so many different and complex levels. I’ve seen the energy that working in New York City has given her. Adena has a courageous and persistent drive to her and she applies that to her work as well. Refusing her entry into the country will take all of that away from her. Do you and those rules you have in place really want to be the reason that this amazing, beautiful, and highly intelligent and creative woman won’t be able to share her work with the world?”

Kat, having said all that couldn’t bring herself to look at Adena. She knew that if she did, she would be completely thrown off guard and wouldn’t be able to maintain the focus that she had now because she would be too entranced by the beautiful woman that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. The rest of her life with….Kat stood there and allowed that thought to sink into her head. Adena would only be in New York for a short period of time. Why go through goodbyes again? Gathering the strength she had left in her, she turned around to face Adena, to her surprise was already staring at her. Adena’s eyes sparkled with admiration as she stood there looking at Kat deeply moved by her words.

“Adena,” Kat said, forgetting about their surroundings and the customs agent standing near them . “I want you to stay. And I don’t just mean being able to enter the country, I mean staying here…with me. The months we’ve spent apart have been the hardest few months in my life. As I said earlier, I can’t imagine my life without you. I love you and I don’t want anything to separate us again. You are my special person and I know that I’ll never have this connection with anyone else. And I want you to stay in my world forever.”
Kat looked up at Adena, who leaned into Kat and whispered two words into her ear:
“I do.”

when i was younger the way i felt about girls kissing was different. it made me uncomfortable, like i knew i shouldn’t hear my own heart skip. i remember watching boys kiss girls on tv and teaching myself “this is all i have”. i’m 24 and i still feel guilty when i think about how much i like girls. i hid it and hated it and i’m not even out to half of my friends. i couldn’t figure out why i felt certain things. i wrecked myself over it, made it hard for me to be in longterm relationships, made it hard to love without feeling like i’m doing the wrong thing.

but yesterday i was teaching a group of second graders.

“i think i want a girlfriend,” she said to me. when a boy squawked “a girlfriend!” the other kids stood up for her instantly. “it’s normal!” “it’s okay if some people want different things.” “yeah, not everybody needs to like boys.”

the boy shook his head and stared at me. “i don’t care it’s a girl” he said, with his hands in the air, “but we don’t even pay taxes, how is she thinking of getting married?”

“miss raquel,” she asked, “why does it look like you’re crying?”

an underrated harry moment is when that interviewer was like ‘any of you guys into older women ;))) ;) ;)’ and harry literally stood there w a completely stoic expression shrugged n shook his head and she was like ‘i had to ask!’ and he just stared at her blank faced and goes ‘did you?” absolutely wrecked. we witnessed a real life murder. she’s bald now

Thoughts on Draco and Kids.

Draco “eternal stick up my ass i hate everyone including you” Malfoy is not the person parents want to babysit their kids. He’s rude, blunt, sarcastic and foul. He’s the man who would save a baby from a fire solely because he knows what the parents would say if he didn’t. Draco Malfoy is the man who sets infants in cribs and leaves them to cry themselves to sleep. He never had a happy childhood, so why should they?

Except he’s not.

Draco Malfoy is the man who sings lullabies to a newborn Rose Weasley and rocks her to sleep. He’s the man who gave Teddy Lupin his first broomstick and taught him to fly, but not before teaching him to read and write. He’s the man who stargazes with Hugo and brings him chocolate when he’s feeling down. He’s the man who holds life in his arms and sees it for what it is: an innocent, precious gift. He never had a happy childhood growing up, and he’s going to give them something that he, as the boy who had everything, never had: childhood memories worth remembering.

Draco Malfoy is not the man people think he is, but the reasons behind his reluctance in sharing are unknown.

Harry saw him hold Teddy Lupin in his arms after his trial. They sat in a room waiting for his mother and Andromeda outside. He was awkward at first and the tears came before the smiles. Had Harry Potter not done what he’d done… a chubby hand with fingers the size of his nails non-too-gently patted his cheek after a few tears had fallen, and knowing how annoying children could be when upset, Draco smiled softly and wiped his eyes. One silly face turned into two, and that dark brown tuft of hair turned the exact shade of his white-blonde locks. He screamed, Harry laughed, Teddy cried, the hair was back to brown.

“He does that,” Harry remarked and gently bounced the child back to sleep.

Draco Malfoy went out for coffee with Harry Potter two weeks later. One cup turned into two, one meeting turned into five, one shop turned into a house. Three months later one quick babysitting date turned into one late night stay for his baby cousin. Draco Malfoy kissed Harry Potter that night with one soft infant snore in the background.

He met Victoire Weasley a few months later at the burrow for Christmas Eve Dinner. Molly Weasley’s pumpkin pudding did nothing to ease his nerves and the hard stares of George from across the table. Ginny smiled at the door, and Molly smothered him with hugs and food.

“As thin as Harry, young man… As thin as- Here, have some more potatoes!”

One plate turned into two, and by the end of the night he must’ve gained half his weight from treacle tarts alone.

Bill was strumming a guitar and not wanting to stand in the doorway besides George, Draco left for the kitchen. Three minutes later and a halfhearted argument won, his sleeves were rolled up to his elbows and his hands were scrubbing plates.

“Always do it the muggle way,” she’d said. He couldn’t remember the rest. Near the end Victoire unsteadly crawled into the room. Her hair stuck up on one side of her head and it was clear the child had been sleeping. Sleep lines on her face didnt cover the dried spit all over her chin, and Draco smiled gently as he bent to down to pick her up.

“Miss Victoire,” he’d called her that first time. Laying her horizontal in his left arm, he wiped her chin and rocked her back to sleep. He continued to help clean the room with one hand, and didn’t miss Molly Weasley’s smile.

When Rose came along, Harry was already the favorite babysitter. He and Harry had been living together for quite some time, although it was clear the resident Weasley parents saw Harry as the sole caretaker on work days. They flooed in, asking if ‘Harry could babysit?’/p>

Draco didn’t mind, he never talked much about children. He liked them, but when Harry was blowing raspberries at Teddy on the dining room table, he didn’t take Teddy for himself.

Very few people know him as who he is, Draco and not Draco Lucius Malfoy. He takes pride in his name, but takes more pride in making Dominique smile when she’s pouting and teaching Rose the wand movements for 1st year charms at just 8 years old. He takes pride in his intellect and control, but takes more pride in perfecting his Princess Victoire and Teddy the Dragon voice when reading aloud Teddy’s favorite book.

Nine years later, at Christmas Eve dinner, while Arthur opened the wine bottles, Draco dismissed himself silently and walked upstairs. In the children’s room, Harry was laughing with the kids when he saw Draco standing in the doorway with a smile on his face. He looked back to the kids and stood up. When he told them Draco would read a special story, all protests at Harry’s departure ceased.

When Fluer walked up to kiss her three children goodnight, she had to stop herself from entering the room. Two minutes later, and the rest of her family was beside and behind her, staring into the room. With a high pitched voice, Princess Victoire shouted out from Draco’s lips.

“I may be short, and I may be a princess, but I’m strong! I’ll save my baby sister from that dragon!”

“The baby princess!” Dominique interuppted, and Draco smiled and nodded before turning the page.

When the voice of Teddy the Dragon came out of his mouth, Teddy the Human let out a pitched growl. “I’m gunna eat you!” He shouted and Hugo giggled.

“Hurry Uncle Draco! Ted’s gon eat 'Toire!” Rose added.

It started to make sense, and some adults found themselves laughing along with their kids. Things began to connect, and suddenly it was clear to the Weasley’s. Why their children, and grandchildren, called him “Uncle Draco.“ Why they screamed happily and ran up to hug Harry and Draco during babysitting days. Why Teddy spent half his childhood with white-blonde hair.

Two weeks later after the Hols had ended, Draco got a fire call from Hermione Granger. Almost immediately, he stood up and brushed off his pants.

“Hermione. Hello. Harry’s, uh, upstairs; I can go get him, if you’d-”

“Oh no, it’s fine.” She cut him off, and before Draco could feel the awkwardness creep up his veins, she had already continued on. “Actually, I was wondering if you wanted to babysit…?”

married part 5- h.s imagine

You let out a scream as you ran around in the kitchen. Lucas turned the corner, laughing as he chased you. You panicked as you realized you hit a dead end. Lucas smirked as he inched closer to you. “Where you gonna go now, babe?”

You crossed your arm and gave a pout. “Not fair. You always win.” Lucas gave a chuckle as he placed his hands on your waist, pulling you closer against him. “I won a long time ago.”

Your cheeks blushed as you tilted your head up to connect your lips together with Lucas.

After your birthday last year, you vowed to get over Harry. You couldn’t pine after him anymore. It wasn’t fair to you or his marriage. Moving on from Harry was definitely a struggle and occasionally your mind would drift off to see how he was doing. You couldn’t lie and say you didn’t miss him because you did. Harry’s made no effort to contact you. You couldn’t blame him though. You knew that if he found out your feelings for him, your friendship would somehow fall apart and sure enough, it did.

You’ve been with Lucas for about three months now. You guys rekindled when you accidentally ran into him at the store. You apologized for never getting back in touch with him after your first date and the rest is history. Lucas was sweet. He was really sweet. Sometimes when you were with him, you didn’t think about Harry.

You pulled away from Lucas as your phone started to ring. Lucas let out a groan as he buried his face into the crook of your neck. “Ignore it.”

You chuckled as you pulled out your phone from your back pocket. You immediately knew who was calling without even having to look at the caller ID. “Niall’s being a little groomzilla. If I ignore him, I’m pretty sure he’ll find a way to hunt me down.”

Lucas rolled his eyes playfully before he pressed a kiss to your cheek. “It’s so hard when everyone wants to take my girl away from me” he joked before leaving you alone to answer the call.

You shook your head as you let out a chuckle before you answered your phone. “What’s wrong now, Niall?”

“The seating arrangement is all wrong!” Niall yelled from the other side, frustration laced in his voice.

You pulled your phone back from your ear, wincing at Niall’s booming voice. “Listen Horan, you better watch your tone with me or I won’t help with the wedding anymore!”

Niall gulped. “I’m sorry. Can you please help with the seating arrangement?” Niall begged into the phone. You smirked as you mentally praised yourself for having Niall wrapped around your finger. “I’ll be over soon.”

Since you and Harry cut ties, you and Niall have become closer. He was your blessing in disguise. You could never thank Niall enough for being there for you when you just really needed a shoulder to cry on. Niall managed to find a girl that was head over heels for him. He was absolutely in love with her. You would like to say you thought Niall marrying someone he’s only known for less than a year was absolutely crazy but you couldn’t. Emma was perfect for Niall. When you first met her, she welcomed you with open arms and you could see how much love Niall had for her. You knew in your heart that they were perfect for each other.

Niall sighed out of relief when he opened the door. His hair was a mess from the amount of times he’s run his hands through it out of frustration. “Niall, I see you’re looking as beautiful as ever.” you chuckled as you stepped into his apartment. You gave a quick hug to Emma who was sitting in the kitchen.

Niall quickly brought out a giant piece of paper. It was like some sort of blue print. It had circles drawn on it to represent the tables, a square to represent the dance floor, a rectangle to represent where the DJ was gonna be. It was the nightmare of every wedding. Niall sighed as he placed the paper in front of you. “We need your help deciding where to put who.” Niall explained.

Emma shrugged her shoulders as she took a sip of wine. “I say we let everyone sit where they’d like to. Who cares about assigned seating?” Niall placed his hand on his forehead before he smiled sweetly. “I told you, honey. If everyone decided to sit where they wanted to then it’ll be a big mess. Each table seats 10 people. What if someone wants to sit at a table that already has 10 people sitting there? They can’t just pull up a chair as they please cause that’ll mean one table will only have 9 guests. We are having assigned seats!”

You and Emma both looked at each other with wide eyes from Niall’s outburst. His breathing was hard as he stared at a sheet with everyone’s name on it. You cleared your throat, “I may need a glass of wine myself for this.”

You looked at who was next on the guest sheet. “Oh! Louis. So we can put him and Eleanor with Liam and Cheryl at table 7.” You quickly wrote Louis’s and Eleanor’s name down on the blue print. Niall nodded as he took a swig of his beer. “Make sure you write Freddie’s and Bear’s name down as well.” You nodded as you began to write. “Who’s next on the list?”

Emma grabbed the guest sheet. “Harry-” Emma paused, her eyes widening a bit as she cleared her throat. “Styles…” Niall and Emma stared at you with weary eyes. Emma’s met Harry a couple of times and she loved him. She thought he was the absolute gentleman and she couldn’t believe what happened between you and him. She never knew Harry was capable of such heartbreak.

Your eyes remained focused on the blue print. You tried to remain unfazed, “Ok. Let’s put him and Kimberly at table 7 as well.” You began to write Harry’s name down before Niall cleared his throat. “Actually Y/N. Kimberly isn’t attending the wedding.”

You sighed as you placed your pencil down. You smiled softly at Emma and Niall sitting in front of you. “It’s sweet of you guys to not invite her but I’ll be fine. Besides, I think Harry would be pretty upset knowing he couldn’t bring his own wife.”

Emma looked at her fiancé. Her eyes telling him to tell you the news they recently got. Niall nodded, he turned back to you. “Harry and Kimberly filed for a divorce last month, Y/N.” You let out a small gasp before Emma explained, “He told us two weeks ago when we met for dinner.”

Your eyes were staring at Harry’s name written down on the blue print in front of him. Your eyes softened as you thought about Harry was feeling all about this. For as long as you knew Harry, you knew how he looked down at getting a divorce. Coming from divorced parents himself, he always saw divorce as giving up. You quickly shook your head, grabbing your pencil again. “That’s unfortunate to hear. Who’s next on the list?”

Emma came around the kitchen counter and placed her hand on your arm softly. “Do you want to talk about it?” Niall nodded his head, reaching across the counter to place his hand on top of yours. “We’re here for you, Y/N.”

You smiled softly as you looked between the couple. “I’m fine, you guys. I promise.” You looked down. “It’s unfortunate Harry has to go through this. And I wish him nothing but the best.” You looked up at the couple. “Now who’s next?”

Emma and Niall exchanged a worried look before Niall sighed as he looked at the list. “Rory…Rory’s next.”

You sighed as you stared at your reflection in front of you. You ran your hands over your dress and smiled as you remembered the last time you wore this dress.

You thanked Harry as he handed you a glass of punch. Harry sat down on the chair next to you as he took in the scene around him. You and Harry went back to Holmes Chapel to celebrate Anne’s birthday. The backyard was filled with family and friends. The sun was about to set, fairy lights hung and music playing in the background. You laughed as you saw the younger kids dancing on the dance floor in the middle of the yard. Harry grabbed your hand and placed a gentle kiss on top of it. “I’m really happy you’re here, Y/N.”

You could feel your cheeks burning slightly as your eyes softened. “Of course, H. I would never miss Anne’s birthday. I adore her.”

Harry’s mouth opened to say something before one of your favorite songs bounced off the speakers. Harry instantly noticed the way your eyes sparkled and your smile widened as the “Photograph” started to play. Harry stood up and held his hand out to you. “May I have this dance?”

You giggled as you stood up, grabbing Harry’s hand. He led the two of you to the middle of the dance floor. You placed your arms around his neck as he placed his around your waist. Harry’s eyes were staring at you intently. “Have I told you how beautiful you look tonight?” Harry whispered. You smiled as you looked down at your feet. “Shut up you goof.”

Harry smiled, placing his hand on your chin, tilting your head to look up at him. “You’re gorgeous, Y/N.”

You were interrupted by your thoughts as Lucas knocked on your door. “Are you ready, babe?” You grabbed your purse before you looked at your reflection once again. “Ready.” you whispered.

As the car was taking you and Lucas to where Niall’s and Emma’s rehearsal dinner was being held, your foot was tapping anxiously. You could feel your palms becoming sweaty as you inched closer and closer to the restaurant. Lucas placed his hand on your thigh. “Are you alright?”

You smiled nervously while shaking your head. “I’m fine.”

You weren’t. In a couple of minutes, you were going to be in the same room as Harry. You were going to finally see him after a year of cutting ties with each other. Would he say something to you? Should you say something to him? Was he going to bring up what happened that night? Is he going to talk about Kimberly?

As the car halted outside of the restaurant, you could feel yourself becoming nauseous. The restaurant looked great. It was closed for the event. You smiled at the small decorations scattered around the room. There were pictures of Niall and Emma throughout their relationship. Lucas gently kissed your cheek, “Good call on the photos.”

You let out a small shrug as you smiled. A slightly tipsy Niall and a sober Emma walked up to you and Lucas.

“Y/N!” the couple to be shouted, pulling you into a hug. You laughed as you hugged both of them. Emma leaned back. “Oh Y/N. We can’t thank you enough for helping with everything. I can sleep well tonight knowing everything is taken care of because of you.”

Niall nodded his head rapidly. “You were pretty much our wedding planner. Please. Let us pay you a little something for all the handwork you did.” He began to grab his wallet out of his pocket. You swatted at Niall’s arm, giving them a scowl.

“No! I could never take your money!” Niall was about to argue before you continued. “Niall, you’ve helped me so much for the past year. I can’t thank you enough. So think of this as me repaying you.” Niall’s eyes softened. He pulled you into another hug. “I told you everything would get better eventually” he whispered as he recalled the words he would say to you repeatedly during your falling out with Harry. You smiled as you squeezed Niall tighter in the hug. You pulled away and gave another hug to Emma.

The couple promised to meet with you and Lucas again before they went around to mingle with all of their friends and family. Lucas placed his hand on your waist. “I’m going to get us something to drink.” He said before he placed a kiss on your cheek and walking away.

As soon as Lucas walked away, you suddenly felt cold. You could feel eyes burning at the back of your head. You turned around slowly to see Harry standing across the room. He was staring at you with sadness in his eyes. You let out a shiver as it was the same look he gave you that night. You shook your head as you turned back around. You quickly walked away, wanting to get as far as you possibly could. You stepped out onto the restaurant patio. You let out a deep breath as you ran your hand through your hair.

“Y/N…”

You spun around to see Harry standing in front of you. You closed your eyes briefly, “Harry.”

Harry’s eyes softened as he took you in. “It’s so nice to see you again. You look beautiful.” You shook your head. You quickly murmured, “I can’t do this” before you pushed past Harry to go back inside.

“Are you happy?”

You halted as you turned back around. “What?”

Harry walked closer. “With him? Are you happy?” You looked at the ground before Harry continued, “Cause I’m a bloody mess without you.”

Your eyes filled with anger as you stepped closer to Harry. You poked him in the chest. “No! You can’t say things like that! You’re married!” Harry grabbed your hand, “I filed for a divorce!” Harry sighed as he glanced down before his eyes met yours. “What happened that night absolutely wrecked me, Y/N. For the rest of my life, I will always regret that night. I missed your fucking birthday, Y/N. I’ve never felt so disgusted with myself. I tried moving on. I tried being the best husband I could possibly could to Kimberly but I couldn’t. You! You were on my mind constantly! I couldn’t do a single thing without thinking about you! All I could see was you crying. All I could see was how much I hurt you. I will never be able to forgive myself. But Y/N. I fucking love you.”

By the end of Harry’s speech, the two of you had tears in your eyes. Harry wiped your eyes before he whispered, “I love you, Y/N.”

Harry’s eyes glanced between your eyes and lips. Suddenly he placed his lips on yours.

The bell rang to signal the next class. Everyone in Y/N’s class stood up and rushed to the hallways, but Y/N got up slowly, too focused with the book in her hands. She picked up the rest of her books that were on her desk, holding them against her hip and headed towards the door. She finished the page she was on before focusing on the hurdle of bodies in the hallway.

Y/N reached her locker, her friend already standing there waiting for her. “Hey Y/N. How was history?” Michelle asked. Y/N shrugged her shoulders, “Same as usual, I guess. I finished my work early so I had time to get farther in my book.” Michelle chuckled, making Y/N give her a questionable look.

“Which one?” Her friend questioned, pointing to the set of books in Y/N’s arms.

She smiled, wiggling one of the books in her hand, with a smile on her face. She then went on and gave her a non spoiler review of the book, in case she wanted to read it. Y/N opened her locker to place her history textbook inside. “So,” Michelle started, “have you seen that video of Spider-Man on YouTube?”

Y/N raised a brow while she grabbed a few notebooks and a couple more books to carry and read through out the day, “Well, I don’t know which one you’re talking about but, I probably have.” She scoffed at herself, slamming her locker shut and moving to walk to lunch.

“Of course you have. Because you can’t have a crush on someone and NOT stalk them, even if nobody knows what they look like.” Michelle said sarcastically, watching the people in front of her bolt to their next class. Y/N lightly shoved her friend, stopping in the middle of the hallway.

Michelle stopped a few steps in front of her, “What?” She asked bluntly. The number of people in the hallway faded out, but the pair took their time to get to lunch.

“I,I don’t have a crush on Spider-Man.” Y/N scoffed trying to defend herself. Michelle rolled her eyes, “You’re kidding, right? You are totally are in love with him, you never stop talking about him. He’s the only guy I ever hear you talk about, besides Pe-he who shall not be named.“she corrected herself, remembering their code name, "You’re crazy about him.”

Y/N sighed. “Yeah, I guess you’re right. But how could I not like him?” She muttered biting her lip. “I’m gathering that this is no longer about Queens’ web slinger?” Michelle questioned. Y/N looked down, nodding her head.

Y/N’s friend sighed, “If it makes you feel better, I saw him staring at you at the Academic Decathlon team meeting yesterday.”

Y/N crinkled her nose in disbelief, “Really? Everyone knows that he liked Liz, so why wasn’t he staring at her?” Maybe there was something on my face or my clothes looked odd to him. She didn’t want to get her hopes up. Michelle nodded her head, “But he was staring for a really long time. Besides I don’t think he likes her anymore though. ”

Before the conversation could continue, the two rounded a corner but, Y/N was met with the back of Peter Parker. “What are you-Oh shit,” He said as he turned around to see all of her books fall.

“I am so sorry, my friend kind of bumped into me.” He apologized emphasizing the second half of the sentence while glaring at Ned, moving to the ground to grab her books. “Oh hey guys,” Peter’s best friend Ned said to the two girls, giving them a quick wave.

“I’m gonna meet you at lunch. See ya later Y/N,” Michelle states walking away as the bell rang,“You too Peter.” She said giving him a mock solute. Unbeknownst to Y/N and Peter, Michelle gave Ned a look, silently telling him to come with her. He scratched the back of his head, “I’ll just head off with Michelle.”

Y/N moved down to the floor with Peter, to pick up her books. “I’m sorry, I’m just so clumsy.” She said, shaking her head and laughing at herself. Y/N avoided eye contact at all cost, a blush appearing on her cheeks. Peter looked up at her, pausing his actions.

“It’s cute.” Peter said boldly, shocking himself. Peter had a couple of her books in his hand while she had the others. “You have a really good taste in books.” He said, standing up from the floor and then grabbing her arm to help her up after him.

“Thanks,” Y/N said, a small smile on her face. Peter still hasn’t let go of her arm and when she looked at his hand, he immediately pulled it away. He cleared his throat, before speaking to the girl.

“M-Maybe you can give me some book suggestions sometime.” He stuttered out. She stood there with wide eyes shocked, was he trying to ask her out.

“Or, maybe not. Maybe you don’t want to talk to me. I’ll just, ummm, I’ll leave.” He cursed himself, turning around to walk away. “Wait, Peter.” Y/N grabbed his arm and he spun around.

“I do have a couple books in mind.” Y/N said with a side smile. Peter smiled widely at the girl, handing her books back to her.

Peter’s point of view

“How did that robbery go last night?” Ned asked Peter as the two walked to Peter’s locker. The two boys had lunch next period and Peter didn’t want to carry anymore heavy textbooks in his backpack anymore (despite having super strength). “It was awesome. I beat their asses.” Peter said enthusiastically, but got quiet when he realized that they were still in school.

Peter and Ned were just about to round a corner when they heard two other people talking in the hall. Michelle and Y/N talking about Spider-Man. Peter was about to walk when Ned pulled him back, “Dude what the heck?” Peter said, looking at Ned like he was crazy.

“Hear me out, we might be able to eavesdrop on them. See how much she likes Spider-Man.”

Peter gave his best friend a look, debating whether or not this was a good idea. He pressed his back against the wall, “Only because I trust you Ned.”

The two heard a voice say offended, “I-I don’t have a crush on Spider-Man,”

Peter looked at his friend with hunched shoulders, “What did I tell you?” He whispered. Ned was about to say something when they heard their friend Michelle start to speak, “You’re kidding, right? You are totally are in love with him, you never stop talking about him-”

Peter turned to his friend shocked. Ned only smirked, “Maybe this was a good idea, she has the hots for Spider-Man dude.” They focused back onto the conversation the two girls were having, but they heard the subject change. “ I saw him staring at you at the Academic Decathlon team meeting yesterday.”

Peter stood there, shocked yet again, “Oh, no, oh lord.” He said, swallowing the lump in his throat.

“Weren’t you staring at her at the meet- ohhhhhhh,” Ned concluded, realizing they were now talking about Peter.

“Really? Everyone knows that he liked Liz, so why wasn’t he staring at her?” Y/N stated, kind of surprised at her friends statement.

“Dude, I think she likes you."Ned whispered. Peter glanced at his friend, thinking about how unreal it would be if she liked him. "And I’m sorry bro.” Ned finished.

Peter moved a step away from the wall, tilting his head, confused at his friend’s statement. “What are you-Oh shit.” He started but couldn’t end the question due to Ned shoving him backwards towards the girl he liked.

A/N: I know I said I’d write more Alex Summers but GUYS! SPIDERMAN! I saw it at the movies and it was so good, so pure. I know most of you are out of high school now so this is a #throwback. I tried to make it totally cute.

Peter slumped against the desk; pushing his forehead against the cool plastic of the table. Detention again; somehow, he always managed to end up back in detention. It wasn’t like he was trying to be here: he just couldn’t catch a break. Turns out fighting crime and writing his biology paper were incompatible things.

The clicking of a pen made him grogilly open his eyes.
A few desks away from him; a girl perched awkwardly on her chair, scribbling doodles onto her notepad. Peter wasn’t sure he’d ever seen her before; he wondered if she was new or just way above his social radar.
Who wasn’t?
But something about the way her mouth pressed together made his head spin. She was unconventionally beautiful; lush hair and kind eyes that tugged his gaze, made his blood prick in his skin. And he thought-
She raised her brow, curiously returning his gaze. Ah, shit. He’d been staring at her like a creepy stalker. How’d he always manage to screw up this bad?
He shifted his gaze immediately to the ceiling; pretending he was checking out the old pieces of tissue that had been lodged into the gaps in the paneling until he thought it was safe.

Something tapped his shoulder; a crumpled piece of paper bouncing across the carpet at his feet. The girl was hastily writing in her notepad again; attempting to look nonchalant, no doubt.
Peter bent down, unfolding the little scrap at his feet.

What are you in for?

Peter bit his lip, rustling into his backpack for his science book. It wasn’t hard to tear out a spare page in a vaguely square shape. He clicked his pen awkwardly, nerves building in his chest.

Busted for no biology homework. You?

He crumpled it, his eyes darting around the room to see if the supervisor was watching. He wasn’t, as usual; he looked about as bored as Peter felt, and seemed to be watching Netflix on his laptop or something of the like. With minimal effort, Peter threw the little piece of paper and managed to get it to roll onto her desk.
She smiled to herself, looking up at him for a brief moment.
Wow.

Made a model of a volcano. It may have exploded.

Peter looked over, laughter playing on his lips
“Seriously?” he mouthed.
She nodded, a look of disbelief on her face as she thought about the incident.

“(y/n)” the supervisor called, looking up with absolute neutrality plastered across his features “you can go whenever.”
She tapped her fingers on her desk awkwardly.
“I might stay here to study for a bit” she breathed. Peter detected a hint of an accent; her voice was every bit as lovely as he expected “it’s…quieter here than the cafeteria”.
The supervisor shrugged. “Suit yourself”.

(y/n) smiled to herself, wrinkling her nose as she tore off another note and tossed it to Peter.

So, who are you, other than the guy who doesn’t do his homework?

Peter swallowed.

Other than the guy who doesn’t do his homework, I’m Peter Parker. But I prefer the first one.

She laughed, and he felt his heart sing.

“Alright Peter, you’re good to go” the supervisor called out, yawning quietly. Peter stood up slowly, his chair sliding across the floor as he slung his backpack over his shoulder.
(y/n) stared at him, her notepad pressed to her chest.
Peter motioned towards the door, raising his brows nervously.
She nodded, swinging her hair back and throwing her bag on.
Peter felt his heart stutter awkwardly as he made it into the hallway, her footsteps directly behind him.

“I think that guy might have been the most chilled out detention supervisor I’ve ever seen” she laughed, stumbling awkwardly as she tripped over her laces slightly. Peter held out his hand to catch her elbow; the places where his fingers met her skin felt awkward and clammy.
“Sorry. Clumsy” she breathed, grabbing at the straps of her backpack as they walked in tandem through the corridor.
“Oh, yeah, me too. I’m always…tripping over things. Y’know?” he stuttered, words leaving his mouth in a slush of anxiousness.
Oh my god.
“You’re good at the words thing” she teased, a half-smile tugging at her lips as her eyes lingered on his. Oh man.
“That’s what they say” Peter grinned, slowing his pace so that he didn’t get to his locker in a hurry. He wanted to spend longer just talking; he didn’t want it to end here.
“Well, this is me” she added, scratching the back of her head as she stopped by the doors to the chemistry labs “but it was great to meet you, Peter. I get the feeling it won’t be the last time”.
Peter felt the breath leave his lungs for a second, his face growing hot.
“Yeah, it was nice. I hope you…explode more volcanoes. So we can hang out.”
She grinned, awkwardly spinning on her heels “okay, great”.
“Great”.
And with that, she strode into class, glancing back just once as he waved slightly like an absolute moron.

“Tell me you got her number” Ned gasped, appearing behind Peter and breaking his trance “she’s amazing”.
Peter shoved Ned’s shoulder slightly, turning him to face the other way as they both walked down the hall.
“I’m working on it” he muttered.

love letters ❥ peter parker

summary : peter, hopeless romantic that he is, has a cache of love letters, all addressed to you, hidden under his bed and expertly crafted. he never anticipated them being read, or the feelings he has for you being returned.

word count : 3.1k (holy fucking hell i’m sorry)

Peter couldn’t help it, the way that he was. He was a romantic at a heart, though the awkwardness of him had a tendency to prevail rather than the confident, smooth talking, small part of him that had a desperate desire to reveal itself. Spider-man was as suave as a fifteen year old boy could be; Peter Parker was awkward, inept at participating in normal, human conversation and often incapable of forming coherent sentences more often than not. He wasn’t the best at talking to people besides Ned and Aunt May and- on occasion- Tony Stark. Especially not you. If there was one person that he turned into an absolute bumbling, ridiculous mess around, it was you. He loathed himself for it, sure that you thought that he was weird, annoying, the same way that anyone who didn’t know him assumed he was.

Ned, however, continuously insisted that you found Peter to be a sweetheart, like anyone who got to know him well enough did, and that you liked him very much- perhaps more than a friend, though Peter had immediately scoffed at the notion. It was out of the question, downright ludicrous. But, of course, Ned had implanted the idea in Peter’s head, and now the boy’s ever creative mind refused to stop constructing various scenarios in which you were Peter’s girlfriend and he was as happy as he had ever been.

While he had been a perfectly charming boyfriend in each and every one of those little dream sequences of his, he was hopelessly lost for words whenever you approached him, unable to even ask what class you had next, let alone reveal the pure adoration he had been holding on to ever since you had been placed beside him in Bio in your freshman year. You had always been the one to stick up for him and smile at him and treat him like a decent human being, and so of course he fell for you, and now he could barely look you in the eye without his cheeks turning a lovely shade of pink. So, he bottled his feelings and let them out in a way he had never known could help him.

    He wrote.

He wrote to you every single day and poured his heart out in every single letter and expressed every thought he knew, in his heart, he would never be able to say out loud. Writing what he felt was so much simpler than saying the words out loud. That was what he assumed, anyhow. He took his pen and placed it down on the paper, starting it the same way he always did.

Dear Y/N… As always, the words spilled over from his mind to the paper as if he wasn’t thinking, just writing and writing and writing until he had filled two pages without lifting his curly head from the paper once. When he finally finished, a yawn stretching across his mouth, he noticed Aunt May standing outside his door. He turned his chair around, raising his eyebrows at her.

“Writing to that pretty girl again?” She asked, hand on her hip but wearing a knowing, soft grin. Peter, not bothering to feign shock, nodded solemnly and placed his pen down the paper. “You should think about maybe, oh I don’t know, actually giving her one of the letters you’ve written?”

Adamantly, Peter shook his head. “May, I could never. You don’t get it.” He swiveled around in the chair, spinning it until he was dizzy. “These letters are embarrassing. They’re practically my whole heart and soul on a piece of paper. She’d scream and run away if she read how I felt about her.” He sighed, placing his elbow on the edge of the desk and resting his cheek in his hand. He stared up at his aunt, still craving her sage advice. May stared back at him thoughtfully.

“Well, in my personal experience,” she came over and gave Peter’s shoulder a squeeze, eyeing the letter that was signed with Peter’s name, “girls are suckers for love letters. And you Parker men write the best ones out there. Trust me.”

Peter bit his lip. “Yeah, sure, I’m not an awful writer. But, I still can’t give them to her. I just can’t.” Before she could say anything else, he was folding it up and placing it on top of the shelf on his desk next to his books for English. “Uncle Ben was different. He was charming. You know that.”

    May smiled wistfully. “I do.”

“And that’s one thing that I didn’t get from him,” Peter finished, shrugging his shoulders as he stood up from his swivel chair. “It’s fine.” He waved it off. “I’m happy suffering in silence. I’m gonna go to bed. Big English project starts tomorrow. Love you,” he kissed May on the cheek as she left his bedroom, switching the light off in her departure. He stared at the wall once he was situated in bed, mulling the conversation over in his head. Maybe May’s right. Maybe telling Y/N wouldn’t be as bad as I’m thinking. Maybe I’m overreacting. Actually, never mind. She probably hates me. Ugh. Life sucks.

That morning, when he arrived in his English class, you were sitting in the seat that had been previously occupied by Ned pretty much every class since the beginning of the school year. Sucking in a breath, Peter took his first step into the classroom. He knew he was a little late to today’s lesson, but he hadn’t realized he was a full fifteen minutes behind schedule. Ned was in the back with Michelle, giving Peter an encouraging thumbs up when he noticed his best friend finally arrive on the scene. Peter gave him the finger.

“Mr. Parker, lovely for you to join us!” Ms. Matthews declared when he decided to shove himself through the door, his heart jackhammering away in his chest and making its way up to his throat. He kind of wanted to throw up.

“Um, yeah, well, you know, sleep and whatnot- overslept, haha,” he coughed out a laugh, scratching the back of his neck. The teacher nodded with faux sympathy, though he could tell she didn’t care that much for his explanation. “I’ll just, um, sit. Down.”

“Next to Y/N, please,” She instructed, waving her hand in your direction. “Since you were late and unable to choose your own partner, surprising since usually Ned is so eager to work with you, Y/N offered to be your partner.” The teacher gave you a fond smile, as every teacher did. “She can explain the details of the assignment.”

Peter gave her a stiff nod before sliding into his chair, and you noticed how rigid he was as he turned toward you with a slight frown. He seemed extremely upset to be working with you, but you wouldn’t let that get in the way. You liked Peter. Really, truly liked him. He was a sweetie whenever he actually talked to and different than the rest of the guys at Midtown. He was genuine.

Giving him your full attention, you beamed at him. “Hey, Peter,” you said cheerfully. He gave you a small smile in return, wringing his hands under the desk. He couldn’t stop fidgeting. Your own smile dropped, which he noticed immediately and felt awful about. “Sorry you didn’t get paired up with Ned,” you continued, taking your books out of your shoulder bag. “I know you would’ve preferred it that way-”

“No!” He interrupted quickly, practically slamming his hands down on the desk so hard you jumped in your seat, eyes wide. “Sorry, sorry, I just, um,” he laughed a little, his cheeks burning, “I’m, um, happy to have you as a partner. Really, I am,” he added as an afterthought, just to make sure you knew.

Your shoulders relaxed as you looked at him. “You’re not just saying that, right? You seem awfully stiff,” you teased, poking his uncomfortably positioned arm as you quirked a brow.

“Do I?” He was practically sweating.

“I was just joking, Pete. It’s cute, anyway.” Peter’s eyes, a shade of brown that you had come to think of as warm as honey, went wide and he gaped at you, but you pretended not to notice. “So, for the assignment we have to write a short story based on one of the assigned reading books this year.”

   She called me cute

“Shit… I think I forgot all of mine,” you were mumbling, your head practically stuck in your bag. “Did your bring yours, Peter?”

Oh my god, she thinks I’m cute. She thinks I’m cute. I’m going to faint

You snapped your fingers in front of his cherry red face, trying not to appear as amused as you felt. He blinked owlishly, an apologetic half smile, half grimace on his face. He was cute most of the time, but especially when he smiled, even if it was only a forced, awkward one. “Do you have your books, Peter?” You repeated kindly.

“Um, sorry, I’ll check,” he answered, embarrassed about his utterly obvious staring that had just occurred. He rummaged around in his backpack before realizing he had forgotten them, as well. He popped back up, curls in disarray as his head brushed against the fabric of his bag. “I forgot them, sorry,” he ran a hand through his hair, messing it up even more. It was kind of adorable.

“You need to stop apologizing for everything, Pete,” you laughed. “It’s fine. We can get started after school. My place or yours?” You were already packing your things, and before he could think about what he was about to do, he said, “Mine.”

“Cool,” you grinned again, a grin that made him want to smile for the rest of his life. “Which one of is doing the writing? Or do you want to split it?”

“You’re a, um, fantastic writer,” he told you, having read your submissions to the school newspaper more times than he could count. “If you wanna take over, you can. I can edit and stuff.”

“Aw, I’m not that good,” you shook your head abashedly, looking down at your lap. “But thank you, Peter. I’m sure you’re great, too, though. Are you sure you don’t wanna write some of it?”

“I’m not much of a writer.”

So, you were in Peter Parker’s room. He was having his third heart attack of the day, and was incredibly grateful that he had managed to keep his wits about him for majority of the day. He had only tripped over his words five times, tripped literally twice, and dropped his Metro card once, but it was fine. You helped him back each time he fell with your usual grace, barely acknowledging his multiple social faux pas and only laughing once because he fell over a small dog- which even he would admit was pretty funny.

Still, his palms were sweaty around you and he didn’t know how he was going to survive working so close to you for the next week while the English assignment was occurring. He lead you into his apartment and you noticed that his hands were shaking slightly as he twisted the keys in the lock. You walked into the apartment, the first thing crossing your mind was how cozy and homelike it was. You liked it very much.

“It’s really cute in here,” you said, smiling around the room as Peter busied himself with a glass of water. He downed it quickly. “Where’s your aunt?”

“Work,” he replied, catching his breath after the gulping down of his water. “Here, let’s go to my room.” He placed his glass of water on the counter and motioned for you to follow him, opening the door to his room and wincing at the mess in there. “It’s a mess, sorry about that.”

You rolled your eyes at him playfully. “Didn’t I say stop apologizing?” You entered his room as if you had been there many times before, taking your shoes off and setting them by the door. You threw your bag on his bed and took a seat in his swivel chair, and he liked how natural it seemed for you to be in his room. He liked how comfortable you were, sitting there. Something about it made him happy.

“Yeah, my bad,” he shrugged. You tilted your head, pointing your finger at him while he raised his hands defensively. “It wasn’t technically an apology!” He took a step out of the room. He was finally being normal around you, he realized delightedly. He would still need more water, though. He could feel his mouth getting dry. “I’m gonna get more water. Want anything?” You shook your head, spinning around in the chair as he left.

Your eyes scanned over his desk, taking in every inch of Peter Parker’s life. He had bad books stacked everywhere, his desk was a mess, there were clothes thrown about the room. Star Wars posters, Avengers posters, notes scattered across the desk. You admired the artful messiness of it all. You leaned up to where his English books were, spotting the one you were most interested in and yanking it off the shelf. As you did, a folded piece of paper fluttered down off the shelf, just when Peter was walking back into the room.

“I thought you said you weren’t a writer, Pete,” you raised your eyebrows at him, holding the letter in your hand and waving it at him.

He almost threw up right there. “Um, I’m not, please give that back,” he reached for it, but you jumped out of the chair, raising the letter high in the air. “Y/N!” He whined, grabbing for it again. “C’mon, please,” he pleaded desperately, pouting at you with such intensity it almost made you want to give it to him.

“Can’t I just read a sentence, Peter?” You pushed out your bottom lip, batting your eyelashes at him.

He almost gave in. “No, Y/N. Seriously, give it back.” He sounded scared now, upset as well. You pursed your lips, handing it back to him. He was so anxious about you reading it that it dropped on the floor, opening far enough so that you could see your name scrawled across the top in Peter’s defining chicken scratch handwriting.

“That says my name, so now I have to read it.” You stood directly in front of Peter, hands pressed together in a pleading motion, the expression on your face so genuinely interested that he had to give it to you. He picked it back up with a lump in his throat and handed it over, scared as ever. But this was what May had advised. Maybe she’d be right.

“Dear Y/N,” you read aloud in a loud, terrible accent, glancing back up at Peter as you read the line after that. He was staring down at the floor, preparing himself for what you were going to say when you read the letter, read his heart. You sat in his chair, realizing it’d be better if you didn’t read it so publicly. He sat down on his bed, waiting.

Dear Y/N. This is maybe the tenth letter I’ve written to you, and each time I say the same thing, so if one day you are reading this in proper succession, I’m sorry for being so utterly repetitive. You’ll probably never read this, though. And that’s why it’s so easy for me to write. I think you’re the only person to ever truly be interested in me when I’m talking about science. Not even Ned has an attention span that long. But you do. And you don’t know how much I want to thank you for that. You make it really difficult to not like you, to not be in love with you. I think that’s what it is… love. And if I’m not in love with you yet, then I’m certainly falling for you. Who wouldn’t? You’re a wonderful person without trying, you’re a beautiful hurricane, a sunset on the horizon of my bleakest hours, and you make me feel as if I’ve been standing in the sunshine for my entire life.

You put the letter down, smoothing it over your lap. You didn’t need to read the rest. That was enough. Peter gazed at you now, the way you’ve yearned to be looked at before, and you shamed yourself for being so blind these past two years. He wasn’t simply just staring. He was looking. Admiring. You slid next to Peter, placing the letter behind you. He moved his hand, curling his fingers around yours tentative as ever. Your free hand grazed up the side of his face, toying with the hair on the back of his neck before resting on his cheek. He shut his eyes. When he opened them again, you were so close that he was able to count each individual eyelash that you had, every single fleck of pure beauty in your deep eyes.

“I like you very much, Peter Parker,” you murmured. He felt his heart soar, and then, he felt himself kiss you. It was an out of body experience. He was there, he was the one kissing you, the one who had initiated it, but it felt like he wasn’t. He was up in the clouds, too far lost in the way it felt to run his hands through your hair as he had always dreamed of to notice Aunt May sneaking past the door, overjoyed to see Peter finally with the girl he had been loving in silence for far too long. You pulled away from each other, eyes opening slowly and hesitantly and your lips practically still connected.

He wanted to tell her that he adored her, but Aunt May’s voice flowed from the kitchen too loud to overpower his thoughts. “You read her the letter, didn’t you? I told you it’d work! Worked for your Uncle Ben and I was right as I always am!”

He jumped up from the bed, sticking his head out of the doorway and pressing his finger to his lips. “Maaaayyyy, you’re embarrassing me,” he whispered-yelled, practically whined. “You were right, okay? Thank you, let me go get a girlfriend now. The girlfriend.” She beamed at him, but no one’s smile could shine brighter than Peter’s.

He retreated back into the room, and you were clutching the letter in your hands. You looked up at him hopefully. “I was thinking that maybe you could read me the other nine letters. If you’re up for it.”

Peter couldn’t possibly say no, taking a page out of his Uncle Ben’s book the way he should have done in the first place as he found the hiding spot for the stack of letters he had been writing for the past few months, sliding them over to you and feeling confident for the first time in a long time.

part 3

Harry sighed as he walked into his apartment. The last place he wanted to be at right now was his home. In reality, he wish he never walked out of your apartment. You were right. Your world didn’t revolve around him. He should’ve realized that he wasn’t the center of your universe. He should’ve let you tell him all about your date. “I’ll just talk to her in the morning,” he thought while he started to walk to his and Kimberly’s room.

“Where’d you go?” a voice called out. Harry halted mid-step. He turned around to see Kimberly sitting in the living room, her arms crossed over her chest. Harry bit his bottom lip, beginning to walk towards her. “I went to Y/N’s. Listen baby, I’m sorry I said-”

“You were with Y/N?” Kimberly asked, her voice laced with bitterness. Harry’s eyebrows quickly furrowed together as he sat down on the spot next to her. Kimberly was quick to move away, beginning to pace around. “I always go to her when I need to talk to someone.” Harry added, suddenly feeling the need to explain himself.

Kimberly quickly turned around to face Harry. “I’m your wife, Harry! Don’t you think you should be talking to me whenever you have a problem?” Harry’s cheeks immediately heated up,looking down at his fidgeting fingers, “We got into a fight. I just wanted Y/N’s opinion.”

Kimberly let out what was mixed between a scoff and a laugh. “As if we can trust her opinion.” Harry quickly stood up, feeling like he needed to stick up for his best friend. “What’s that supposed to mean?” Kimberly eyes widened, her head shaking, “How could you be so oblivious, Harry! The girl is in love with you!”

Harry quickly shook his head, “She’s my best friend, Kimberly! How could you accuse her of something like that!”

Kimberly crossed her arms once more before she sat back down on the couch. “I’m supposed to be your best friend.” She shook her head as she stared at the ground. “I notice the way she looks at you. She looks at you like it’s just you two in the room. She listens to every word you say. She puts your needs before hers! Everyone sees it! Everyone but you!” Harry remained silent as he sat down next to Kimberly, his palms beginning to sweat.

“Didn’t you notice how sad she was at the wedding?” Kimberly whispered as she placed her hand on top of Harry’s. Harry closed his eyes. “No…no. I’m her best friend. She was just happy for me. They were happy tears.”

Kimberly sat further into the couch. “Harry, they were tears because the guy she was in love with was marrying someone else.”

You were sitting in your kitchen. A cup of tea in front of you that was now cold. You sighed as you heard a knock on your door. You wiped a tear that fell from frustration from your fight with Harry. When you opened the door, there stood Harry at your doorstep for the second time tonight. Harry was giving you a look that sent shivers down your spine. He let himself into your apartment. You closed the door behind him, “Listen Harry, I’m sorry for-”

Harry spun around to face you, his breathing becoming harder and harsher. “Are you in love with me?”

Your eyes widened. Your secret that you kept for years was finally out. Your eyes quickly scanned Harry’s, trying to get some sense of how he was feeling. When you didn’t answer Harry, he immediately knew what your answer was. He ran his hand over his face as he took a deep breath. “How long?”

You suddenly felt so small. Your arms crossed, as if they were trying to protect yourself. You never wanted Harry to find out. You thought if he ever did find out, the two of you would be old and gray’ you would have a husband and the thought of once being in love with Harry would seem funny. Now, you felt nothing but shame for ever growing feelings for your best friend.

You took a deep breath, your eyes threatening to spill out tears. “Since we were 18,” you whispered. Now it was time for Harry to gasp. “18!” He repeated, his hand slamming down on the counter. You visibly winced, you closed your eyes as your arms tightened around your body.

“5 years! You’ve been in love with me for 5 years!” Harry shouted. He began to pace around your living room, pulling on his hair out of frustration. Harry looked back at you, his eyes softening at your trembling body as you cried. “Why didn’t you tell me,” Harry whispered so softly that you almost didn’t hear. You looked up at the ceiling, tears falling from your face, “I didn’t want to ruin what we had Harry! Our friendship…it was so beautiful! So…real! I was afraid that if I told you or if you somehow you found out, it would ruin everything.”

Harry looked down, his own eyes beginning to fill with tears. He looked up at you and took a deep breath, “You should’ve told me, Y/N. If you told me…things would’ve been different.” You let out a quiet scoff as you stared at the ground. Harry came closer to you. He placed his hand on your cheek, causing you to look up at him. Harry leant his forehead against yours, “I’ve been in love with you all my life.”

You let out a small gasp before Harry continued, “I’ve been in love with you…for so long, Y/N. But I knew someone like you would never be in love with someone like me.” Harry opened his eyes as he grabbed your hands. “You’re so..beautiful. You’re so compassionate and kind to the world. How could I not fall in love with you?” Harry chuckled through his tears. You looked into Harry’s eyes that were filled with nothing but sadness.

“If I knew that you loved me…I would be married to you right now.” Harry whispered. You let out a sob as you rested your head against Harry’s chest. Harry wrapped his arms around you as he looked up, trying to stop crying. “But I’m with Kimberly. And I fell in love with her too.”

You nodded your head as you buried your face more into Harry’s chest. For what felt like an eternity, the two of you held on to each other as if this was the last time you guys would be seeing each other.

Niall let himself into your apartment. He placed his bag down as he quietly made his way into your bedroom. He sighed as he saw the plate of food he left out for you remained untouched. As he came closer to your bed, he noticed the tear stains on your face as you were asleep. He sighed, feeling the same sympathy he did for you when Harry got married. Niall grabbed a blanket you kept on your bed and placed it over you before he left your room.

When Harry left your apartment that night, you immediately called Niall and struggled to tell him what happened between your sobs. Niall tried assuring you that everything would be okay. He tried telling you that this was just a bump; that somehow you and Harry would get past this. But it’s been two weeks and Harry hasn’t tried contacting you since.

Niall was sitting on the couch in you living room when you finally came out of your room. You sat down on the spot next to him, bringing your knees up to your chest. Niall placed his phone down. “I brought some food.” He said as he nodded towards the bag on the counter. You were staring at the wall in front of you. You let out a quiet “thanks.”

Niall bit his bottom lip, trying to think of what to say. He glanced at his phone and smiled. “Your birthday’s tomorrow. That’s exciting isn’t it?”

You shrugged your shoulders. Niall sighed, “Would you like to do anything? I can clear my schedule. Maybe we can go to-”

“I don’t really want to do anything. Thank you though, Niall.” You said quietly. Niall nodded his head as he scooted further into the couch.

Eventually Niall left. He placed a kiss on your head and a promise that he’ll be back tomorrow. Your eyes shifted to the clock on the wall. 11:34PM

With the time ticking closer and closer to 12, you could feel your anxiety bouncing off the walls. Harry has never missed the tradition of coming to your place for your birthday with a home made cake. Surely he wouldn’t miss it because of what happened.

Right?

You looked at the clock again. 12PM. It was officially your birthday. You stared at the door, hoping that Harry would burst in. Your eyes began to water when you realized it wasn’t going to happen. Tears began to fall off your face as your tradition was broken. You placed your head into your hands. Of course he wasn’t coming. Just because he knew you loved him, he wasn’t going to leave his wife for you. You were his past, Kimberly was his present. Stupid girl you thought.

Harry glanced at the time on his phone. He sighed as he looked at the cake he made earlier in front of him. He grabbed the cake and threw it into the trash can before he went back to bed.

To him, it was just an article of clothing that was two sizes too big and smelled heavily of off brand laundry detergent from the last person who wore it. When he had initially decided to tryout for the lacrosse team he didn’t expect to be spending as much time on the bench as he did. Surely he’d be allowed to play a couple of times, right?

Wrong.

His freshman year was spent keeping the cold metal bench warm. Nevertheless, that didn’t stop his friends from coming out and supporting him. Even when his dad couldn’t show up he knew he could count on Y/N to.

Humans are Space Orcs

I jumped onto the train for awhile now but now I have to contribute to it in some way.

Teens.

I ain’t talking about the stereotypical teens that adults always talk about, I’m talking about the dorks that still laugh at the iCUP joke.
But like…aliens don’t know how teens are because all they have heard from adults is how stupid and immature teens could be.
“Their rebellious and they won’t appreciate a single thing you do for them.” Human Rachel growled. “I wouldn’t want them as part of the crew.”
“But were you not a ‘teen’ once yourself?” Srytx gurgle, slightly confused.
“Exactly.” She huffed. “So I know how they work. Take it from me, teens aren’t what you want Srtyx.”
From the little warnings the adult humans have given the aliens makes them all worry as inevitably they are forced to harbor the human teens as well.
There were many things Gypr was afraid of, but this had his pelt flash blue in worry. If the humans were warning them about their own kin was not something that stirred well in his glands.
He shook his head and walked into the room that harbored the teens and two adults.
Some were as small as 4 ft while others simply towered over most adults. They all seemed dissinterested, some of the females talking in a corner while the males were being annoyingly loud. There were groups of mixed genders and others with only a single gender.
Gypr let our a shrill whistle between his fangs causing the humans present to turn to him. The two adults looked severely unconfortable which was understandable, his species did not give off peaceful vibes they were predatory by nature.
“Welcome humans,” Gypr announced. “Human adults will you please go in through that door they have a conference there for the human adults alone. Many of our other humans have said it is best to seperate the youth from them.”
The two adults nodded and turned to give biting glares at the teens. Some payed close attention while the other sniffed and turned away.
“Don’t cause trouble.” The human male growled before they both walked off into the room.
Gypr was slightly confused, they were not very friendly with each other.
As soon as the door closed, Gypr was able to see something…odd.
The loud teens from before continued to make and Crack jokes which eased some of the teens within the group. They positioned themselves to be more of a circle rather than the scattered mess they were in before.
The girls glanced around almost disinterested, but Gypr could see that they were looking for something.
Two teens stepped forward, one a male and the other a female.
The male bowed while the female gave a nod of her head.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you.” The male smiled when he rose.
“Sup dude.” The female echoed. “I’m Angel and this is my friend Stan, we were informed that you’d be helping us out till we moved onto another ship?”
“Yes of Course I am Gypr,” the alien hummed. “I was told by several humans that you do not obey simple rules, I must inform you that anyone that breaks the rules will be punished by the other humans as the captain sees fit.”
“Oh the adults told you that hu?” Human Angel snorted. “Of course they would, stupid ass adults don’t know what the hell their talking about.”
“What my friend means,” Stan interjected. “Is that we understand the implications given, and I assure you no one in our crew will step out of line.”
Gypr, slightly confused, nodded. He started to walk, knowing that the humans would follow.
“Hey Gypr,” Human angel raced to stand next to him. “I have a few questions, and I was hoping you’d be able to answer them.”
“Of course anything you need Human angel.”
Angel stood in front of him stopping them from moving any further.
“You are going to show us our rooms right?”
“That was the plan Human angel.”
“Are we going to be situated with any of the adults?”
“Yes unfortunately we do not have rooms for every single person, so we Andre forced to compromise. Their are ten people to a room Human angel.”
“Are we allowed to choose who we go with and who goes with the adults?”
“The captain nor the humans malentioned any rooming arrangements so I assume it is fine, unless situated otherwise. There are 30 of you we have two open rooms for 10 each but the others will be scattered with human adults.”
Gypr was expecting anger and fighting amongst the group. But Human angel and human Stan only nodded.
“Okay that’s good,” Human Stan grinned. “Are we forced to do any activities with adults?”
“No, adults mentioned that they would not get any work done with younglings like yourself in the immediate vicinity, so you will not interact with any adults unless you so desire.”
Gypr was surprised when about eight of the teens sobbed in relief, earning pats and hugs from their other humans. Gypr surprise and confusion must have shown as Human Stan came to explain.
“Some of us have had bad run in with adults, they treat us like kids and in turn brush us aside, however their are a few of us who have been wronged by adults and we wish to keep them as far apart as possible.” Human Stan explained. “Adults categorize us a certain way because they believe that they know what is best despite us being perfectly capable of making our own decisions. Not all of us are like that, but in my group we try our bests. Please exuse me and angel as we wish to comfort our friends.”
Human Stan bowed again before racing off to hold one of his shaking male friends.
“Human Angel, I was unaware that Human Adults did not treat all you’d fairly.” Gypr was slightly horrified.
Angel shrugged.
“Trust us, some of us were the same way. It took forever to realize what’s wrong with our crew, and we can’t really do much about it either. There are a lot of humans that do not understand the precious life that we hold and will often abuse it as they wish. It is not only human adults who do this, but Human elderly, teens and children as well.” Human Angel sighed miserably, a sound that Gypr was told teens do not make. “Everything is so jacked up Gypr, but we learn to deal with what we have. I promise you we will try our best to not cause any trouble but please note that if push comes to shove we will probably be yelling at the other human adults aboard. It is not out of rebellion but we are all tired of the way we are treated arena as such arguments happen.”
Gypr stood staring at her with his three eyes, he would need to update the manual on human teens.
He stood staring as the human teens eventually calmed each other down and we’re ready to start moving once again.
“You have not mentioned to called you only by name Human Angel and Human Stan, most other Humans are irritated by being called Human before their name.” Gypr rumbled as they stopped for lunch.
“Not all of us are like that.” Human Stan supplied. “But if it makes you feel more comfortable calling us that way, by all means go ahead. Just remember some human won’t always appreciate the way you speak.”
Gypr looked down as his meal, his pelt flashing green as he calmed himself.
Human teens were most mesmerizing.

A large blast erupted from the horizon, Peter swinging in the neighborhood to check it out. He reached a field and extended his hand out, shooting a web. It didn’t go very far. So instead, he took off running through the golf course.

“This sucks!”

Once he reached the abandoned area, another blue blast was shot from a large gun. “Now this is crafted from a reclaimed sub-ultron arm straight from Sokovia,” the seller announcer. “Here. You try,” he handed the large gun to his buyer.

“Man, I wanted something low-key. Why are you trying to up sell me, man?”

“Okay. Okay. Okay. I got what you need,” the man turned and placed the gun back in his white van. Peter crawled behind a post, sticking his head out to listen to their conversation.

“Look, times are changing and we are the only ones selling these high tech weapons,” another dude said to the buyer.

“Wow,” Peter whispered. “This must be where the ATM robbers got their stuff.” Peter said, referring to the incident that happened a few days ago.

“I just need something to stick up somebody. I am not trying to shoot them back in time,” the buyer said.

“I got grab climbers,” the man near the van said. This interested the buyer and he neared the van. Suddenly, Peter’s phone rang and he scurried to answer it. “Okay, what the hell was that?”

Peter looked at the screen, it was Y/N. The sellers drew their guns and pointed it towards the buyer. “You set us up?”

“Hey. Take it easy man,” the buyer said, holding his hands up. Peter hit decline on his phone and jumped down from his hiding place.

“Hey! Hey! Come on! If you are gonna shoot somebody, shoot me,” Peter said.

“Alright,” the seller said, turning to aim his gun at Peter. He webbed his gun and pulled it from his reached. He raced over to them and the man grabbed a weapon from the van, attaching it to his forearms. He spun around and punched Peter in the abdomen with it, sending him flying back into the concrete pillar. Peter fell to the ground and groaned.

The men laughed and gathered their things quickly before riding away in their van. “What was that,” Peter asked. He webbed the car door and it began to drag him along the road.

They took a sharp turn and Peter crashed into some trash bins. “We gotta call him,” one of the men insisted.

“Hang on. Hang on,” the other one said, grabbing a gun. He shot at Peter but he dodged the blast, his body flopping around on the pavement.

“Did you get him?”

“Shut up!”

“I’m calling him.”

“OW! MY BUTT,” Peter yelled as he held onto his web as tightly as he could. The driver purposely kept swerving the car in hopes to lose the Spiderman. He drove to the left and Peter crashed into a car. He drove to the right and Peter slammed into some more trash cans. He drove to the left and Peter broke through a brick pillar. Peter let go.

He quickly stood up and webbed the car door again but it just came off. The car drove away. He threw his hands up in defeat.

“Great!” He ran through the neighborhood, jumping over a fence and running to the owner’s backyard. “Hey, hey buddy,” he said as a dog jumped up onto him. “Sorry, I can’t play right now.” He threw the dog a ball and continued running.

He was finally swinging through the trees but he misplaced his web onto a tree house and brought it crashing to the ground. He fell into a green house and crashed through a fence. He jumped through a bush and swung into a pool accidentally.

He got tangled in party lights and landed in the neighbor’s yard, in front of a small camping tent. He groaned and sat up, looking at the two little girls who resided inside the tent.

“Oh. Hey guys.” The girls screamed and Peter scurried away. He ran onto the roof of a house. “Almost got them,” he could see the white van as he jumped onto another house. “Thought you could get away from me, could ya?”

He panted heavily and jumped onto another house, pushing his feet off of it and aiming for the van. Before he could land on the van, he was yanked into the air. He yelled in protest the higher and higher he got.

“What the hell?” He looked up into the monster’s glowing green eyes. Peter was suddenly thousands of feet in the air when he was pulled from the monster’s grip. He collapsed back into his deployed parachute and was tangled in it as he fell from the sky. Peter yelled as he plummeted from the sky. The last he remembered was landed in a lake, his body jointing like it was hit by a ton of bricks.

Y/N had gone home after the party and changed into her pajamas. She quickly pulled out her textbook before turning to a certain page and reading her assignment for the weekend. A loud thump came from her window and when she turned her head, she gasped and scurried out of her chair.

Y/N opened the window and pulled the limp body of Spiderman through it. He fell onto the floor and groaned in response. “Oh my god. What happened?”

“I-I…fell…bad guy…Iron Man…water,” he panted.

“Okay. Okay. Okay,” she laced her arm under his and helped him to his feet. “Come and lay down.” He collapsed onto her bed and held his side in pain. “Stay here,” she ordered.

Y/N ran out of her room as quietly as possible, not wanting to wake up her parents. She grabbed the first aid kit and an ice pack before making her way back to her room.

“You’ll have to take off your suit,” she said, closing the door behind her. Peter touched the emblem of his shirt and it deflated off his body. Y/N helped him pull it off the top half of his body. She pushed him to sit up against the headboard of her bed. “Tell me where it hurts.”

“My abdomen,” he grunted. Y/N nodded and shakily moved her hand to touch his ribs. He winced in pain and she apologized immediately after retracting her hand. “I-It’s fine.”

She moved to examine him again, gently touching his skin and sending sparks all throughout the boy’s body. She glanced up into the Spiderman’s mechanical eyes but then turned her attention back to his stomach.

Peter couldn’t help but gaze at her sleeping attire, a tank top and shorts. Her hair was wavy, falling gracefully over her shoulders. However, through all this staring, she could feel his gaze on her.

“Eyes up here, Spider-boy,” she said, not taking her eyes off his bruised stomach.

“Y-Yeah, yeah. Right. Okay,” he cleared his throat and turned his gaze back up to her face. She sighed in defeat and motioned to his abdomen.

“You’ve broken four ribs,” Y/N said in horror. He grunted and tried to sit up but Y/N gently pushed him back down. “Lie still.” She reached over and grabbed and ice pack off of her night stand. She gently pressed the ice against his bare abdomen, Spiderman wincing slightly at the coolness of it.

“Thank you,” he grunted out, adjusting to the cold. She smiled at him before silence overtook them.

“So you and Peter Parker really are good friends?” Y/N asked out of curiosity.

“Yeah, h-he uh, works over with Stark,” Y/N nodded her head and went back to wrapping a gauze around his abdomen. “He talks about you a lot,” Y/n smiled in response.

“I know. You told me.”

“He likes you. You know that right?” Y/N smiled in response. “I’m serious! I mean…he really likes you. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say the boy was in love with you.” Y/N halted her actions. For Peter, this was easy to say because she didn’t know it was really him. Had he not had his mask on, he probably wouldn’t have been able to say those words.

“You think so?”

“I know so.” Y/N turned to hid her blush. “W-What about y-you? D-Do you love him back?”

Y/N looked up at him with a curious grin on her face. “What’s it to you?”

“I-I-I was just wondering,” Peter said, shaking his head.

“And why should I tell you? So you can go and blurt it out in front of Peter?”

“I wouldn’t tell him. Not if you don’t want me to,” Spiderman insisted.

“I’d rather not take any chances,” she said, pining the gauze in place. “I’ll keep quiet if that’s alright.” Spiderman shook his head.

“No, its fine. I get it.” Y/N cleared her throat and stood to her feet after she was done. “Well, thanks again.”

Peter stood to his feet and pulled his suit back over his body, Y/N taking one last glance at his well defined body. He pressed the emblem on his suit and it tightened to fit his body perfectly.

Y/N escorted Peter over to the window and opened it for him. The two stare at each other for what seemed like eternity. Peter gently pulled to end of his mask over his face, just past his nose and leaned in close to Y/N face.

“I owe you,” he whispered before placing a kiss on Y/N’s cheek. His lips lingered for just a few seconds before he pulled away. Y/N looked down, hiding the blush evident on her face.

“Well, just be careful next time and don’t–”

“I’ll be fine. I promise.” Y/N threw his a small smile. “Thanks for the patch up.”

“You’re welcome, Spiderman.” He winked at her before climbing out of her window and swinging off into the distance. “Please be careful.”

Your phone started ringing for the third time in a row, and you couldn’t suppress your exasperated groan as you tugged a sweatshirt over your wet hair and damp skin. Snatching it up off the scuff-marked plastic table you chanced a quick glance at the caller ID before answering.

Sam Winchester.

Of course.

“You better have a damn good reason for disturbing my day off, Winchester,” you teased, tucking the mobile between your shoulder and ear so you could return to the damp towel you’d tossed onto the bed and set about drying your hair more thoroughly. The bastard knew you were taking a day to pamper yourself, yet still decided to drive you mad with your own ringtone. How very rude of him.

On the end of the line, Sam just chuckled, and you could just picture him shaking his head slightly in amusement.

“Yeah, sorry about that,” he laughed, but you could detect genuine regret in his voice. “It’s just that I know you’re nearby, and me and Dean could use an extra pair of hands on this one. Dean will hate me when he finds out I rang… he doesn’t like thinking there are more Vamps than we can handle,” he said. A faint scraping sound in the background suggested that he’d just taken a seat, too.

As you once again dropped the towel onto your bed in favour of your hairbrush, you let out an amused titter. “Certainly sounds like Dean,” you mused, “sounds like he’s well on his way to becoming one of those stereotypical stubborn Alphas you get on TV.”

Once again, you heard the distinctive rumble of Sam laughing. That was when a thought hit you, and your face lit up in a smile so broad that your cheeks actually hurt.

“Hold up… does-does that mean I actually get to see you guys? And I mean see you, not just skype or a screen-shared movie?”

Humans are Weird: Sleep

Just pumping out humans are weird posts.

Humans need sleep. It’s a necessity. If you don’t sleep, you go insane and die. Humans usually sleep during the night when it’s dark out, as most things are done when it’s light and we can see clearly.

Aliens might not have a sense of sleep or sleep schedules. So like what if aliens who are new to the whole humans thing experience a sleeping human?

“Human-Sarah, we require your assistance downstai- HUMAN-GREG COME QUICK HUMAN-SARAH IS NOT MOVING!” I raced into the living room, out of breath.

“What’s going on? Sarah are you alright??” I shouted at her. She awoke with a start, yawning and then rubbing her eyes.

“Yeah I’m alright *yawn* what’s up?” Sarah looked over at us sleepily. I let out my breath I didn’t know I was holding. Hhtun stood next to me, shock etched across his face.

“Hhtun said you were dead, dude she was just sleeping.” I laughed, turning my head to look at the wide extraterrestrial.

“But- but you were- you were laying on the furniture and you- you weren’t moving!” Hhtun was frozen in fear and shock. Sarah let out a giggle and stretched her arms and legs.

A chorus of small pops came from her joints as she cracked them and Hhtun stared in horror.

“WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT??????”

Peter had been ignoring you. You didn’t know what you did, or what reason he had, but he wouldn’t speak to you. He wouldn’t even look at you. It had been almost a week without your best friend by your side, and honestly? You hadn’t ever been so lonely.

You tried to speak to him multiple times throughout each day—in the hallways, in class, at lunch, but he would only look down at his feet and pretend you weren’t there. A sharp pain would resonate in your chest each time, missing your best friend.

And it was a bit of a hysterical situation to you, because you had just been thinking of telling him how you really felt about him. But maybe Ned was wrong, considering this was the treatment you were getting for no reason. Maybe Peter never liked you.

And that other world would never truly be this one.

But being fed up, and wanting to deny the thoughts in your head, you stormed your way to his apartment at a time you knew he would be home. You kept your eye out more carefully this time, nerves on edge this past week that you didn’t have Peter on the phone to calm you down. You rushed up all the stairs in his apartment building, majorly out of breath as you knocked harshly on his door.

“Coming!” You heard May yell, and you attempted to gain your breath back before she answered. The door swung open and you were greeted with the sight of Peter’s aunt wearing an apron with bits of flour sprinted on it. “Hey, (Y/N)!”

“Hi, May,” you smiled back, and you felt bad when you saw her outfit. “Oh, sorry, am I interrupting you?”

“No, not at all!” She exclaimed and opened the door wider for you to come in.

“Is Peter here?” You asked as you walked through the door, and you found yourself looking around at the apartment for him.

“No, he isn’t,” May said slowly, and you knew she noticed your shoulders sag as soon as she spoke. “Is everything alright between you two?” She asked as she closed the door behind her, and she motioned for you to sit at the kitchen table with her.

You sighed as the both of you sat down across from each other, your shoulders slouching even more. “I don’t even know.”

She waited patiently for you to finish. “He just- he won’t talk to me. And I don’t know what I did. He pretends like I don’t even exist. I just- I need to know.”

You looked down at the kitchen table, fiddling with your fingers. You knew it was odd to be saying this to Peter’s aunt, of all people, but you had always been close with May.

After a few moments of silence, you looked up from the table to see May staring at you inquisitively. “You like him, don’t you?” She finally said, and your eyes fell back to the table.

You let out a self-deprecating laugh, not even bothering to deny it anymore. “Is it that obvious?” You asked. You could feel your cheeks growing redder.

“Not to him, I’m sure,” she laughed lightly, and you could feel her eyes still on you. “My nephew is an oblivious one when it comes to that stuff.”

You gave a small laugh in response, but said no words other than, “Do you know why he’s ignoring me?”

You looked up to see her shake her head, and you frowned. “No, I don’t. But I’m sure it has something to do with his feelings for you.”

You immediately perked up at her words, shoulders now stood stiffly straight. “Feelings for me?”

“Come on, honey. You’re telling me you haven’t noticed the way Peter looks at you?” May said, and you stared at her blankly in response.

It couldn’t be.

“He’s completely smitten for you. And you should tell him you feel the same.”

“But he’s ignoring m-”

“Probably because he thinks you don’t like him back!” You could see her getting excited, and you felt the feeling stir up inside of you as well. “Tell him, (Y/N),” she said, resting her hand over yours. “It’ll be worth the risk.”

You nodded, a small smile forming on your face. “Thank you, May.”

You decided to wait until the next day at school to talk to him. You were determined to tell him, to track him down and make him talk to you. To make him look at you.

You had to wait until the lunch bell rang to go search for him since the two of you didn’t share any classes together in the morning, and when it rang, you sprinted out of the classroom and towards the gym where you knew Peter had class.

Before you arrived there, practically running through the halls with hundreds of other kids in the hallway with you, another bell rang. You almost didn’t flinch, and neither did anyone else, thinking it was the second lunch bell.

But then it became louder and harsher, and you realized it wasn’t a bell—it was an alarm.

You’ve got to be fucking kidding me, you thought.

You crashed through the gym doors, seeing nothing but an empty gym. You needed to hurry. You needed to find him. The halls were now chaos, everyone panicking as the realization an alarm was going off set in.

“This is a lockdown. I repeat, this is a lockdown. Everyone please make their way to the nearest classroom immediately. We are not in immediate threat, but there is an Avengers crisis just miles from our school. I repeat, this is a lockdown.”

Everyone continued to panic, scrambling for the classroom doors.

You, on the other hand, frantically looked around for Peter. He had to be around here somewhere. You tried to think. If it was an Avengers matter, then he would most definitely be called by Mr. Stark to help. All you had to hear was the signal he had showed you whenever he would need him. You listened and listened, but nothing could be heard over the blaring alarm and the screams of worried teenagers.

The hallways were quickly clearing as students ran into classrooms, but they still seemed crowded. It was now that you felt the panic set in yourself. You needed to tell him. You needed to find him. If he was about to go risk his life for something big enough that the Avengers needed him, then you needed to find him.

You would’t let him risk his life after not speaking to him for a week, without you even knowing why.

You looked around frantically, ignoring the shoves and yells of everyone at you being in their way. You looked in every direction, strained to hear the signal his watch would give off. And then you saw him.

He was running toward the back doors of the school, his backpack hanging loosely off his shoulder and his sweatshirt already beginning to be yanked off. You didn’t hesitate before racing after him.

You thought you could hear a few teachers screaming at the two of you to turn around, but you didn’t listen. And, of course, neither did Peter. He crashed through the doors, and you were a few seconds behind him. He made his way to the back alley behind the school. You followed him there, too.

He finally stopped, dropping his backpack to the ground and pulling his sweatshirt over his head. His shoes somehow made their way off of his feet, and his pants were pulled down. You didn’t look away, not caring.

“Peter!” You yelled, finally stopping and trying to catch your breath. “What do you think you’re doing?”

He didn’t answer, now shoving his legs into his Spiderman suit that he grabbed from his backpack. It was now up to his chest when you yelled again, walking closer to him.

“What do you think you’re do-”

“Go away, (Y/N)! Go find Ned to protect you instead,” he yelled in return, the whole suit now on except for his mask. You thought you saw a hint of jealousy on his face before the mask covered it.

“What are you talking about?” You asked, confused. You saw him begin to turn around, but you yelled to stop him. “Don’t you dare go anywhere!”

“I need to go help-”

“You need to explain yourself first!” You screamed louder than you ever have, angry that he was brushing you off so blatantly. “What are you talking about? What about Ned?”

“You obviously like him, (Y/N)!” Peter was screaming now, too, and although you couldn’t see through his mask, you were sure his expression was angry.

“What?!”

“I saw you guys walk out of that supply closet together! Go ahead, go date him for all I care! I’ll stay out of your way,” he went to turn around again, but you leapt forward and grabbed his shoulder. You turned him around, staring at him.

“I don’t like Ned, you dumbass!” You yelled, throwing your arms out in exasperation.

“Yeah, okay, sure-”

“Stop!” You pointed at his face. “Take that mask off.”

“No, I’m leaving,” you yanked him forward when he went to turn another time. The two of you seemed to be getting closer and closer to each other.

“Take. Off. The mask.”

You let go of his arm so he could slip it from his face. His eyebrows were furrowed, and it was no surprise to see. You saw a small yellowing bruise on his jawline, and you grew angrier, knowing he could have come to you with his injuries if he weren’t being so petty.

“Why have you been ignoring me?” You asked, and in seconds a loud explosion sounded from far away. You could see that Peter itched to swing away, to swing closer towards where the damage was happening. But you wouldn’t let him.

“Just answer the question, Peter!”

“Because I love you!” He shouted, silencing you and your yells. The stunned expression on his face told you that he wasn’t planning on speaking those words aloud.

And you weren’t expecting him to either. All argumentative words you were about to say left your mind, and the only thing that had been stuck there for what felt like forever could finally be released.

“I love you, Peter,” you said it softly, but the meaning was the loudest it could have ever been.

His eyebrows were still furrowed, but you saw a smile twitch at the end of his lips. “You? You love me?”

The disbelief in his voice made a smile bloom on your face, and a small laugh left your mouth. “Yes, Peter. I love you. Not Ned, not anyone else. I love you.”

It was his turn to laugh, his eyebrows now high on his forehead as he suddenly wrapped his arms around your waist, lifting you up and spinning you around. He laughed in your ear, and it was the most beautiful sound you had ever heard. Well, second to the sound of him then murmuring ‘I love you’, quietly for only you to hear.

The two of you kept your arms wrapped tightly around each other as he set you down lightly, and you pulled back enough to be able to see the happiness in his eyes. You were sure he could see it in yours, too.

“I’ve got to go,” he whispered, and you nodded.

“Okay,” you whispered in return, but didn’t unwrap your arms from around his neck. He didn’t let go either.

“I really have to go,” he said, a small ounce of desperation in his voice. He didn’t want to let go, you knew that. You kept your arms around his neck but took a step back, now only holding them there loosely. He did the same.

“Okay,” you whispered, now scared to let go of him completely in fear something bad would happen to him. “Okay,” you whispered again. You wouldn’t let go. You didn’t think you could.

“I’ll be fine, (Y/N),” he said, giving you a small smile. But you could see the anxiety in his eyes, and you could feel the way his hands fidgeted around your waist.

“Yeah, you will,” you said, giving him a smile as well. “Just,” you were back to whispering now, and although you had taken a step back from him, you leaned your forehead against his. You saw him close his eyes just as you did. “Come back to me.”

He let out a shaky breath of air. “I will,” he said, and he leaned back again. “I promise.”

This time he completely let go of you as he opened his eyes, and you let go as you opened yours. He rested his hands on your face lightly, barely there, and he pressed a kiss to your forehead.

It was your turn to let out a shaky breath.

He took another step back, knowing the both of you would be tempted to reach out to each other again. He slipped his mask back over his face, and he aimed his arm upwards after doing so, shooting a web to the top of the school.

“I love you,” he said, although it was muffled through the mask. And then he shot upwards, and out of your vision.

“I love you,” you said in return, sniffling, but it was lost to the wind.

You stayed outside in the alleyway until you knew the lockdown would be over. You wanted to be outside to see if any of the damage from the city spread towards the school.

You waited for Peter there. He promised he would be back. You waited.

Gem Heat AU- Pearl Runs Out Of Flour

Amethyst stood in the doorway, mouth agape. Pearl was laser focused on putting the finishing touches on a three tiered cake, and Steven was sitting on a stool with a half eaten plate of cookies in front of him. The counters around them were covered with various baked goods.Amethyst had noticed the smell when she was walking back to the temple with a bag of fry bits, now lying on the beach where she had dropped them. This had happened before. Steven and the gems liked to bake, but Amethyst only smelled that many different types of dessert when Pearl needed to distract herself. Specifically when she was in heat.

“Hi Amethyst!” Steven waved to her. “Isn’t this great? Pearl’s been baking all day!”

Amethyst was silent as she watched Pearl make another perfect icing rose like her life depended on it. This was bad.

“How are we gonna eat all of this?” Steven idly asked the room at large.

“Hey, uh, why don’t you go take Lion and go get Connie and Greg? Don’t want them to miss out on all this, huh?” Amethyst fought to keep her voice calm.

“Good idea!” Steven hopped off the stool and started walking to the door, stopping when he saw Amethyst’s face. “Are you ok?”

“Yeah…” Amethyst said distantly. Steven frowned slightly and handed her a cupcake.

“Well, anyway, have one of these. They’re really good.”

Both Pearl and Amethyst were motionless as the door opened and the sound of Steven’s footsteps traveled down the stairs and out onto the beach. Soon after, Lion’s distant roar was carried up to the door by the gentle sea breeze.

The house was silent.

Pearl’s eyes met Amethyst’s for a moment. She blushed, hard, and went back to icing. Amethyst slowly put the cupcake in her mouth and chewed. The wrapper’s muffled crinkling filled the room, and then she swallowed. Pearl kept working.

“It’s bad this time, huh, P?”

Pearl’s blush deepened but she didn’t stop.

Amethyst stepped up to her and gently put a hand on Pearl’s back. Pearl jumped like she had been touched with a live wire and icing squirted all over the counter’s contents. Together they stared at the cake’s now erratic pattern.

The tube of icing clattered gently to the floor. “Geez, P, I didn’t mean to-” She was interrupted by Pearl lifting both her arms and slamming her fists into the cake. It splattered tremendously.

Pearl’s breath was ragged as she stood up straight and turned her back to Amethyst and the cake. “Darn it.” A bit of cake slid off her shoulder and hit the floor with a soft splat.

“I’m really sorry, P, I didn’t think… Can we make another one?” Amethyst wrung her hands together nervously.

“No.” She sighed. “And even if I wanted to, we’re out of flour.”

"Are you sure?” Amethyst looked around at the desserts covering the counter, and now the floor, walls, and ceiling, wondering how many bags Pearl had been through already. Wait… if they were out of flour… what was Pearl going to occupy her time with now? Amethyst turned back to see the kitchen devoid of icing-coated gems, and the screen door clattered open behind her.

The one we know as Mystery Girl worked part time as a bartender in a rarely visited dive, but 3pm on a Thursday was an especially dull time. She was leaning on the counter doing the daily crossword when the bar door flung open and an oddly sweet wind swept past her. She glanced up at the still empty bar as the door swung shut. She shrugged and looked back down at her puzzle, which now had a small fragment of icing covering the word she was working on.

Mystery Girl turned around to see a flushed and out of breath Pearl fiddling with her ribbon, eyes on the floor.

She raised an eyebrow at the gem, a smile playing across her lips. “Is it that time already?” She reached out and plucked a perfectly formed icing rose from Pearl’s hair and popped it in her mouth. Pearl’s blush deepened and she nodded, still not meeting her eye.

She grinned at Pearl’s embarrassment, leaned forward, and whispered, “How about we head to the back room and I clean you up? I could use a snack.“ She licked her lips and winked, and then laughed out loud as Pearl leapt at her.

“May I have this dance?” His silky sweet voice rung in my ears. He offered his hand to me.

“You may.” I smiled at him. I gently took his larger hand and he immediately gripped it tight. He brought my hand to his lips and pressed a kiss to the back of it. I blushed. He pulled me closer to him and held my waist. We danced to the sweet music around us. He guided me across the dancefloor while my gown swished around me.

The whole time we stared at each other, a certain glint in his eye. I rested my cheek against his shoulder, sighing in content. He placed a kiss to my temple and smiled widely. I could stay in this moment forever.

“Y/N,”

“Hmm?” I lifted my head from his shoulder.

“I love you.” My smile couldn’t get any wider.

“I love you too.”

Alone

Lance slowly opened his tired and heavy eyes, and looked around his room.
Silence.
It was odd. He groggily glanced outside the window as they passed an asteroid field, and he rubbed his eyes, blinking rapidly.
He winced as he placed his feet on the floor, stretching.
Murmurs came from outside his door, and they faded a few ticks later.
As quiet as possible, Lance tiptoed outside, closing his door slowly and letting out a breath of relief.
He wanted to go see Blue.
He broke into a run to get to his lions hangar, a pang of homesickness in his heart that kept him going.
It wasn’t like he had nobody to talk to. His friends were understanding and caring, and he understood why they would brush him off in important situations.
He just trusted Blue. A lot.
-
As he stepped into the hangar, a low purr rumbled from Blue.

“Welcome, my Paladin.”

“Hey Blue. Sorry I’m here at like, 2 am. I’m just kinda sad. Mind if I sit here with you and the other lions?”

A rough purr emitted from Red, and Green flicked her tail happily.
“Thanks, Girl.”

-

“Where’s Lance?”
Hunk was starting to get worried about his friend, and even though they wouldn’t admit it, he knew the rest of the paladins were worried as well.
Keith was hesitant, but stood up anyways.
“I’ll go look for him. Was he in his room?”
Pidge adjusted their glasses.
“They weren’t in any of the rooms, I checked just a few minutes ago.”
Allura tapped her foot impatiently. Despite the flirting, Lance was like a brother to her.
A very, very, annoying brother.
“Well what are you waiting for?”
Her words were venom, and Shiro shivered.
Despite this, Keith shrugged and went off to look for his friend.

-

“He’s not even with Coran. I’m worried, you guys.”
Hunk muttered, coughing into his sleeve.
“Have you checked the Lions?”
That caught Shiros attention.
Keith sighed.
“Why would he be there? If he was homesick, why would he go to the lions?”
Shiro stared at him.
“… To talk to blue.”

-

“I’m not convinced. But I’ll go check there and I’ll tell you guys if he’s there. Keep looking.”
Allura bit her lip, and constantly stole glances at the floor.

-

~Time skip brought to you by Corans mustache~

-

Keith walked into the hangar, surprised.
Shiro was right.
Again.
Lance had his back to Blues paw, snoring peacefully.
But what surprised him was that the other lions were gathered around him, as if he fell asleep telling a story.
“… Lance? Lance, are you alright?”
He took a step forward, and Black growled.
Blues eyes were accusing, and Red even stared at him with an unknown expression.
Cuz y know. They’re mechanical lions.
Another step.
Lance awoke, his eyes alarmed, and stared right at Keith.
He cowered in surprise.
“Keith! I-uh-um, it’s fine! I’ll be to breakfast in a bit!”
He quickly stammered.
“It’s fine, just- just stay away from me.”
It’s not like Lance hated Keith, he just felt weird around him, since he was so serious all the time.
Yellow flicked her tail angrily, getting into a pouncing stance.
“Just let me help you-”
A loud roar shook the area, and as if as quick as lightning, there were tears flooding down Lance’s face and Red was in between Lance and Keith.
The rest of the team were there in merely a few ticks, and saying they were shocked was an understatement.
Allura was ecstatic, seeing another Lion defending a different Paladin.
It quickly turned into a frown when she saw Lance was crying.
Coran was screaming.
Hunk took a step back, hugging himself from the surprise.
Pidge stood in the front, amazed at the possibilities.
Shiro just stared at Lance.

“Stay away from the Blue Paladin.” Red roared again, standing taller.

Lance pat Reds paw, and she hesitated, sitting next to Blue with her eyes fixed on the team.

“Sorry guys. I just- when I feel homesick I just go to the lions and just- talk, I guess.”

Hunk pulled him into a hug, and soon the whole team were all hugging one another, sobbing.

“Why were you crying?”

Lance tensed when Keith asked, head tilted and curious.

“I-it-it just reminded me of when my brother would stand up for me. When.. He was alive, of course.”

“You’re not alone, Lance.”

It’s Hard to Balance | Part i

Description: The reader, the Avenger’s most powerful asset, is struggling with her “job” at Stark Industries and her life as a high school student. To make her struggle to balance hero life and family life worse, her mother abruptly disowns her and Tony Stark takes her in. With the publicity to her family’s condition and her sudden relation to the Starks, the reader is faced with a major problem; being the only Avenger with a secret identity, it might just be exposed.

Words: 1,670

Notes: I’ve been wanting to write a story involving the Avengers lately, but I didn’t want the binding laws of writing a book on another platform to crush my ideas. This is pretty free-form but loosely centers upon Peter Parker’s relationship with the reader.

Characters: Tony Stark, Natasha Romanoff, General Ross,

Ships: Peter Parker x Reader, Avengers x Reader

Masterlist

Name: Y/N L/N

Alias(es): Lumin, Starling

Date of Birth: (Date of Birth), 17 years old.

Address: (Address)

Abilities/Powers: Superhuman abilities, Flight, Invulnerability, Low-level Photomanipulation, X-Ray vision

You closed your eyes before you could read the rest of the information, stomach churning. Your vision blurred, head spinning as your legs shook. But you raised your gaze above the room full of military personnel, eyes watering and building in your eyes like a reservoir, They know everything. Everyone in the room had access to your file now, all of your personal information, your medical and dental records, your precise measurements down to the T.

Signing the Accords meant everyone in the military—any good hacker out there, too— had access to everything about you. To make matters worse, you’re the one Avenger with a secret identity. Everyone knew Tony Stark was Iron Man and Natasha Romanoff was the Black Widow, but no one, not even your own mother knew you were Starling. Among everyone on the team, you were the one person who everyone didn’t know.

And your file was about to be dumped on the internet with the rest of your community, and it made you sick. You couldn’t be a normal highschooler again, and you even dared to consider the idea of talking to Tony about getting homeschooled. You couldn’t live with your mother if she knew; she hated the Avengers with a fiery passion, and she hated you either way.

“Y/N,” Tony called, knowing what you were thinking. You scowled at yourself, wiping away your tears and looking up at him,”Yeah?” Tony took his place in the lineup, squished between you and Vision. It was smaller than it would be, without your leader and without the woman who was like your older sister. With most of your team gone, you felt the fulfillment of having a family slowly shred away. Tony gently put his hand on your back,”I talked to Ross. He says he’ll keep your file under wraps.”

You let out a breath of relief, disbelieving as you rested your head against your mentor’s shoulder,”How’d you…?” You questioned, putting your hand over your rapidly beating heart. You closed your eyes again, turning away from the sight. Hundreds of people were in this room, and most were staring at you. Any of them knew, and all had full authorization to tell the world. You weren’t safe yet.

“It wasn’t me,” Tony confessed. He looked to your left at Natasha, who stood solemnly with her arms crossed and her face poised in an emotionless expression. She understood better than anyone why you needed to be kept a secret. She glanced down at you out of the corner of her eye, eyebrows sewn together in silent concern. You assured her you were fine with a nod, attempting a broken smile in thanks. Her jade stare darted back to the crowd without another thought.

The rest of the meeting went by in a blur. General Ross delivered a speech about how important it was that the public knew their protectors. He gave the exception for you, going as far as to say that your identity was going to stay under the radar until Captain Rogers was found. And that’s when your sturdy determination fell to your shoes.

Everyone was looking for Steve. The C.I.A, the F.B.I, the remains of S.H.I.E.L.D, and dozens of more organizations that you couldn’t even name, or maybe didn’t know about. Everyone was looking for any sign of Team Cap after they were broken out of the Raft prison. Tony was frantic, Vision was constantly on guard, Nat was hesitant but looking, Rhodey was still recovering, and T’Challa had left and never got back in touch.

You alone refused to take part in the search, and everyone assumed you were just too distraught to do so. But that wasn’t the truth. You knew where they were, you knew what was going on, you knew everything. Every week you’d get something through someone. A stranger passing by would give you an address to a telephone box, three days later you’d find it and Steve would talk to you for five minutes before hanging up. At school you’d find a letter in your locker, Wanda writing you to tell you about how much she missed you, along with a Sokovian breakfast recipe.

You were pretty sure Natasha knew, considering she was assigned in secret to watch you.”Secret” being a loose term, since you were smart and figured it out on day 2. You saw her at your school sometimes, at least once a month, poised against a wall wearing a Photostatic Veil. It was the device she used to hide her face, making her look like someone else. Usually, she was a lunch lady or a janitor, but you knew it was her because she’d smirk and walk away. For whatever reason, she didn’t tell anyone you knew where Steve was.

When you were finally allowed to leave you were the first out, terrified out of your mind. It was around now Clint would approach you, notice you were sad, make a bad joke and then offer to take you out for ice cream. Now all you really had was Tony and Nat, as your parents or anyone at school couldn’t understand what was going on. But Tony was still looking, and Natasha had mission after mission. Vision you weren’t really close with, but at times you played chess silently in the lounge.

“I have to get home.” You said softly. Natasha looked at you sympathetically, the only woman in your life acting as a motherly-figure, and gesturing to you pointedly,”We’re training as soon as you get home tomorrow, don’t forget.” You nodded in response, taking your bookbag from the Team’s kitchen counter. She left as Tony entered, who offered a pained smile,”Here kid. Have fun at school.”

You snorted in response, shouldering the strap of your bag.”This saved me so many times in highschool, you have no idea.” Tony pulled a book from behind his back, offering it to you. Taking it skeptically, you read the title aloud and laughed.”101 Flirtations.” Tony perched on a kitchen stool, shrugging,”Use it on that boy you keep talking about. You said he was cute.”

You laughed, shaking your head,”I can’t. If I ever had a boyfriend… my mom would kill me.” Tony scoffed, rolling his eyes like a child,”You know what?” You slid in the stool across from him, tucking the book in your bag anyway,”Your mother is a pain in the ass.” You opened your mouth to argue, to claim he had never even met her, but he cut you off by raising his hand.

“You’re a straight-A student,” Tony started, folding his hands in front of him,”Maybe got in trouble… what? Two times? Out of the entirety of your time in Highschool, and she still hasn’t recognized how great you are.” You shook your head, no clue as to why you were defending your mother,” She just likes my brother more, it’s fine.”

Tony frowned,”Well, you know what, I don’t give a shit. I think you are a very smart kid, who also happens to be able to catch bullets and hold up buildings. And that is way cooler than being a momma’s boy.” You smiled in response, thanking him with a nod.

Tony gently caught your wrist before you left, looking at you sternly,”If she ever does anything to you…” He trailed off, leaving the implication for the taking. You nodded, squeezing his hand before parting.

Distracted by your phone and thoughts of the accords, you failed to notice the objects lying in the driveway on time. Tripping, your phone skidded out of your grip with a harsh slap to the blacktop, your nearly indestructible hands catching you before you fell like an idiot. You looked over the items curiously; two (color) suitcases, a cardboard box brimming with knick-knacks—your knick-knacks. Face reddening, you stood. You picked up your phone with a sigh, tears brimming your eyes as your thumb ran over the intensely cracked screen, and for the argument to come.

You looked to the porch, where your mother stood with crossed arms.”I moved out when I was 17,” She started,”You have a job. You make money at that internship. You don’t need me and your father anymore.” You kept silent, bowing your head as you waited for her to finish.”Your brother needs a music room anyway.” And with that, with such little words, she turned back into the house.

You waited there for a moment longer, the tears brimming your vision finally falling free. She was a terrible mother, that much was true, but with this act, she had just given you everything you had ever wanted. Freedom, and with your real family no less. You needed to call Tony or Natasha or even Vision, but found your phone unable to turn on. Regardless of the joy radiating off your form, you had to quell the saddened anger building from the back of your conscious. Your hand alighted with a ghostly white energy, before fading into your palm as a dying light.

Starling, Lumin, or whatever you called yourself nowadays, was free. But if you were free, then why did you feel so forlorn?

The New Avenger’s Facility was quiet by the time you flew back, landing in the grass with your stuff piled precariously in your arms. For someone with super strength, you felt so weak. You sat down on your personal landing pad, attempting to calm your rapid breathing before you threw up. The sickness in your stomach boiled as you remember every time she told you to “Cross your ankles when you sit” And,”Why can’t you be more like your brother?” Or,”Stand taller, like (brother’s name).

A figure fell into the grass, the arc reactor casting light onto the sight before the Iron Man.

“Oh, kid.” Tony sighed.

Girl bullies and beats up my sister, I make sure the popular kids hate her next year

Happened a few days ago, still grinning about the look on this girl’s face.

I want to start by saying that my little sister isn’t very popular. She’s not great at being social, she doesn’t wear popular clothes, she has blue hair. She’s very anxious around people, but she’s one of the sweetest girls ever. She’s in eighth grade. Kids are shits, so this year’s been hard for her.

One girl in particular targeted my sister. This girl had been spreading rumors about her, and after a while, it started getting around that she wanted to fight my sister. Being the anxious girl she is, my sister never told a teacher. (The school is terrible anyways, the teachers would have never stepped in.) Later that day, this girl attacks my sister. Everyone crowded around them while she suddenly started punching and kicking my little sister. One boy stepped in, literally throwing the other girl off of her. This has had a major effect on my sister’s mental health. Her grades dropped and she started panicking before each school day. If I could, I would have done far worse to this girl. However, my sister begged me not to, saying that she just wanted it to be left alone.

Fast forward a few weeks later. The eighth graders come to the high school I go to as some sort of orientation for when they’re freshmen next year. I was eating lunch with my friends, many of which happen to be very popular at the school (they’re on the student body, so they’re also involved in a lot of school decisions.) They’re well known at the middle school, too. A group of eighth graders come up to our table, and we’re supposed to help them out with any questions they have. They noticed that many of the people there were popular, and were trying to hang out with cool older kids I guess.

I recognize the group instantly as the girl and her friends who ganged up on my sister. For some reason, she doesn’t recognize me.

They start talking to us, and it’s obvious that they’re trying to make themselves sound cool. The  'ringleader’ girl asks, “Do any good fights go down here?”

I stared at her and said, “No, people here have better things to do. It’s sad when someone attacks another person for attention.” My friends agreed. “It’s disgusting,” one girl said. “I hate people who do that. It’s so disgusting.” I’m still staring at her when I say, “Actually, something like that happened to my sister down at (middle school). People that do that kind of thing are just sad. It’s not welcome here.”

That’s when she recognizes me. Her face went tomato red. Her friends chimed in, glancing at her every now and then. “Yeah, I heard about that, I can’t believe people still do that.” “I hate people like that!” Another one of the eight graders exclaimed.

The girl mumbled that she had to go to the bathroom and stood up, obviously waiting for her friends to go. They just kept talking to us, so she awkwardly walked there alone. After the eighth graders left, I explained what happened to my friends. Looks like she won’t be getting along here next year at all.
