when I was a kid, I told my mom that I wanted to be an actress when I grew up. You know what she told me?
She said, “sure, but you’re going to have to do it in China. America won’t hire you if you’re Asian.”
And that was it for that dream.
Of course, that was just a phase - one of many, one I would’ve gotten over anyway. But what she said stuck to me. You’re going to have to act in China, because America doesn’t hire Asians.
And if there’s anything I learned over these years, it’s that she was right. Asian-Americans don’t get to see ourselves on screen. We don’t get to read about our deeds. And we get pissed. We complain, we shout, and people dismiss us because, oh, “the Japanese are okay with Ghost in the Shell”, and “I’ve heard that mainland Chinese are perfectly fine with Iron Fist.” Well, great for them. This isn’t about them.
This is about us. Asian-Americans. Asian-Canadians. Asian-Australians. Asian hyphen something. And the Asians in Asia don’t understand - because they can’t. They’re surrounded by media portrayals of them. They never have to fight for representation because it’s always there. They have no idea what it’s like to live in a country that sees you as other, and then to have to go back to your home country, to have your parents tell you “this is you, this is your culture, your heritage” and you look upon the faces of your family and you see nothing of yourself in them.
Asian-Americans are not the same as Asians who live in Asia. We live in a different culture. Our values, our beliefs, the experiences that shape our lives are separate.
We want to see ourselves in western media because it’s what we grew up with. It’s what surrounds us. Sure, we can watch K-dramas and anime and Chinese/Taiwanese/Japanese/whatever dramas, and a lot of us do, but it’s still not us.
We shouldn’t have to go watch Asian dramas just to see a part of us represented. We shouldn’t have to move to Asia just to be hired.
We deserve to represent, and be represented, as ourselves.
Roses are red, Violets are blue, Valentine’s day is coming up, so here are my 10 favorite Korean drama couples. (in no particular order)
Hong Nan Hee & Byung Hyung Tae - 9 Ends 2 Outs
If I had to choose my favorite couple of all time, Nan He and Hyung Tae would take the title. These two best friends turned lovers are still making my heart pound whenever I watch 9 Ends 2 Outs. Their knowledge and understanding of one another, as well as their constant need to protect each other was wonderfully portrayed. And Soo Ae’s chemistry with Lee Jung Jin was so on point I wondered if they didn’t date in real life.
Ban Ji Yoon & Yoon Dong Ha - A Witch’s Romance
Noona Romance are not new in kdramas but this one is probably my favorite. It was heartbreaking to watch Ban Ji Yoon fight her feelings for Dong Ha because of their 14-year old gap, but the mature take on the subject made it worth it. Plus, their kiss scenes were just too hot.
Na Bong Sun & Kang Sun Woo - Oh My Ghost
These two are just too cute. Introvert Bong Sun and top chef Sun Woo didn’t look like they were ever going to fall in love but thankfully our ghost Soon Ae helped a little. I particularly love how Sun Woo just can’t resist Na Bong cuteness.
Kim Bok Joo & Jung Joon Hyung - Weightlifting Fairy, Kim Bok Joo
A fan favorite and probably the best couple of 2016, Bok Joo and Joon Hyung have brought to light a realistic portrayal of a couple and their relationship. From strangers, to friends, to lovers they’ve showed us how a relation based on respect, communication and trust can work.
Cheon Song Yi & Do Min Joon - You Who Came From The Stars
If these two aren’t the definition of opposites that attracts I don’t know who could be. Using one of my favorite trope, neighbors/cohabitation, Cheon Song Yi and Do Min Joon’ love story was stellar.
Choi Hee Jin & Kim Bong Do - Queen In Hyun’s Man
Another opposite attracts kind of story, Choi Hee Jin and Kim Bong Do made my heart pound and break and pound again. The idea that love is timeless and that 400 years of distance is not such an issue was one of my favorites out of all the love stories.
Yoon Myeong Joo & Seo Dae Young - Descendants of the Sun
Set in the military, the obstacle they faced wasn’t just your usual parents disapproval. Seo Dae Young’ struggle to follow orders while trying to keep Yoon Myeong Joo from hurting was heart wrenching. But it’s Yoon Myeong Joo’ stubbornness that made this couple so lovable. This and their beautiful theme song.
Jang Dan Bi & Lee Do - Splash Splash Love
It was only two episodes but these two gave me feelings that some couples haven’t been able to do in 20 episodes. Their love story was short lived but so sweet that it will be remembered for eternity.
Grim Reaper & Sunny - Goblin
Definitely the couple with the most painful story on this list, Wang Yeo and Sunny made cry like a baby. To be exact, it’s the innocent and slow approach this couple took only to find out the ugly truth that made cry. Like hurting in one life is already awful but can you imagine it being your destiny? Granted their reincarnation did get a happily ever after but it wasn’t the same.
Go Eun Chan & Choi Han Gyeol - Coffee Prince
I love these two because not only did they do the romance but they also did the bromance. Their love story was really one that transcended genders, which was quite a feature for Korean drama. Han Gyeol struggle to understand his feelings for Eun Chan, followed by his acceptance of the situation gave me so many feelings.
One thing all these couple have in common is how much they loved each other, they might not have made the best decisions all the time but their love is so big that it blinded me several times.
On this note, I wish you all a Happy Valentine’s Day whether you are in a relationship or single. For those of you who are in relationship, enjoy your time with your significant other. For those you who are single (like me) don’t feel desperate and just enjoy the day with yourself or your friends. Finally for those of you who don’t celebrate/care about Valentine’s Day…have a wonderful tuesday :)
A little Captain Charming bickering amidst some wedding planning.
Dave wants to make use of his wallet, but killian isn’t too pleased by it.
“Are you sure this is what you want?” Snow asked her daughter as she fiddled with the notepad in her hands.
“Pretty sure. It’s not too complicated a menu, and there’s something on there for everyone, right?”
Emma turned to Killian and David for their input.
They’d sampled a customised three-course dinner for the wedding that had been surprisingly well thought out and appetising, and were now making a decision in the cozy restaurant as the manager hovered nearby.
The starter was some kind of salmon with salad- whatever it was, her mother seemed to love it. The main course was chicken. You can never go wrong with chicken. And dessert was a heavenly concoction called a ‘chocolate melt bonanza’ that Emma was sure had some magical element to it. The caterers had also offered a vegetarian option that they’d decided to add to the order, choosing to be safe rather than sorry.
“Are you happy with it, love?” Killian asked as his hand covered hers on the table top.
“I am, I want to know your opinions too. It’s not just me we’re feeding.”
“Well I think it’s wonderful.” Snow assured her.
“Aye, love. And we shouldn’t be giving a damn about what anyone else thinks. They don’t like it, they can always feed themselves elsewhere.”
“I agree.” David added. “As long as you’re happy with it, Emma.”
She looked at them gratefully before letting out a big sigh.
“Alright. I think we have our menu.”
“Wonderful. I’ll settle it with the manager.”
Killian gave her a quick chaste kiss as he rose from his seat. He made his way over to the hovering manager, noticing David joining them as they were lead over to the office across the room.
“We’d like to order the three course.”
“An excellent choice, sir. Am I right in confirming that will be for forty guests?”
“And an additional ten vegetarian meals.” David reminded the man.
The man scribbled away enthusiastically into his planner, leaving David and Killian to share a polite half smile between them as they waited.
“Okay, so that’s forty meals plus ten vegetarian, three cases of red and white each, plus three cases of champagne….” the manager tapped away on his calculator for a few moments “which comes to a total of one thousand, six hundred and thirty nine dollars.”
Both men looked visibly taken aback by the price but didn’t comment.
“You’d only need to put a deposit today of eight hundred dollars and the rest would be paid the day before the event.”
Killian and David both nodded in agreement.
“The things we do for love.” Killian teased.
David began to pull out his wallet, rummaging around before pulling out his visa card. It was when he went to hand it over to the manager that Killian stopped him.
today is the met gala! if ya feelin peachy and up to it, would you write a wee lil drabble about our friends from hmc there?
this is a continuation of this drabble, kinda. don’t ask what the gala theme is it’s some weird combination of 2015′s through the looking glass and this year’s art of the in-between lolol. and yes, i’m making kubo a designer that gets her own met gala solo show in honor of kawakubo bc their names sound alike O K
12 hours to open
The Victor from four hours ago is gone, neatly tucked away like one of his silk ties or a pair of ankle socks. Folded and hidden into one of the several drawers of Victor Nikiforov’s wardrobe of a personality. Yuuri wonders if he’s glimpsed into a good amount of those drawers, but considering Victor’s actual wardrobe drawers have their own MUJI brand compartments inside of them, it is entirely likely that he’s missing even smaller facets of Victor; his drawers have drawers, his secrets have secrets.
Yuuri watches him now as he scrutinizes each display of the exhibit, murmuring with the curator and periodically adjusting the garments on the mannequins. Victor looks up briefly and gives a small smile—in the way that Victor only ever gives smiles, small and subtle but brilliant, still, and Yuuri mentally adds that to his collection of memories of Victor to lose sleep over.
Yuuri smiles back (hesitant and timid and awkward, he’s sure).
4 hours to open
“Oh my god, what are you wearing?” Georgi asks in horror.
Yuuri looks down at his outfit, still in the sweats he’d slipped into in his rush to get to the Met at half past three in the morning. Around them, preparations for the gala are in full-swing, museum officials and staff bustling around the venue as the ticking clock winds down.
"I’ve got it.” Victor’s voice, soft but clear, calls from Yuuri’s left and when Yuuri turns he stops breathing. Victor’s changed, and he’s still in a suit, of course, but it’s stunning. Custom-made by Kubo herself, the designer being celebrated for that evening. Half of the suit is lined with icy blue crystals, tiny sparkling things that glint where the sunlight catches on them. The other half is a more muted blue, calm but compelling and homey. It divides in a diagonal across Victor’s front, and the stark contrast of the suit’s design is jarring, but—so’s it’s owner.
Yuuri doesn’t notice the garment bag hanging over Victor’s arm until he steps in front of him. “I don’t know if you already had something picked out,” Victor tells him. Yuuri remembers to breathe, can’t decide whether to look up into Victor’s eyes or to the matching blue of the bright part of his suit. “Sorry for having dragged you here, though, you’ve been here all morning and all night—”
"It’s okay,” Yuuri says quickly.
Victor pauses, gives his small smile. He holds out his arm, pushes the garment bag over to Yuuri. “How about you go change, then?” His voice lowers. “Before Georgi gets an aneurysm. And before Michele arrives,” he adds, teasing.
Yuuri shudders. “Michele.” He takes it from Victor gratefully. “Thank you.”
2 hours to open
"Where the fuck are you?” Mila hisses into her phone. “They’re rolling out the carpet.”
Whatever JJ says on the other end, it only mollifies Mila slightly. She sighs as staff members around her iron down the red carpet, making it smooth and impeccable for the star-studded guests who would arrive later in the evening.
Sara rubs Mila’s shoulder soothingly as she clicks off. “It’s gonna be okay. Look, Otabek’s running the livetweets right now,” she says.
Mila rolls her eyes. “Please tell me that—”
"Leo and Guang are helping,” Sara says quickly.
Open - Gala Stage
"Welcome, ladies and gentlemen,” Victor says grandly behind the podium on stage. He flashes a wide smile as the crowd applauds, but it doesn’t sit right with Yuuri, not really. He watches from off the side of the stage, standing with Mila, who’s busy typing away on her phone.
"Georgi says Kubo’s not ready yet,” she stage-whispers, looking at Yuuri with wide eyes. "She’s got some, I don’t know, there’s some drama with the—”
“What?” He glances at his watch. “But the schedule—”
"Fuck the schedule, we need to—”
"Okay? Yuuri, we need to—Yuuri, wait, what are you—”
Victor’s voice booms from the speakers around them. “And now, may I present our—uh… Yuuri Katsuki?”
Two hours after close
Yuuri finds Victor by one of the displays, looking thoughtfully at the satin train of a Renaissance-themed dress. He’s shed his suit jacket, loosened the tie around his neck. He still looks flawless.
"I hope that was okay,” Yuuri says quietly.
Victor doesn’t startle, as if he’d expected Yuuri to come to him all along. He’s quiet for a bit, before turning to face him. He speaks, breathless, even though he hasn’t moved from his spot since he’d been there after the last of the guests had left.
"That was amazing,” he tells Yuuri meaningfully.
It’s too much. Yuuri tears his eyes away. “Roughly amazing,” he says jokingly. Deflects.
There’s the small smile again. “Roughly amazing,” Victor agrees. He gazes back at the mannequin on display, and that’s where Mila finds them later, when she tells them the car’s waiting.
Betty hit send and stared at her phone screen, longing for the reply bubble to appear. When no response came she tossed her phone to the side, turning her headphones up to maximum volume. As hard as she tried, she couldn’t seem to drown out the screaming that rang out from across the hall.
Her parents had been arguing for weeks now, the product of unresolved tensions that had existed ever since her father moved back in. It was almost always regarding something insignificant - an overflowing trash bag, dishes left in the sink - any minor inconvenience sending them into a spiral.
Tonight, they were arguing about a dinner party. Her mother felt they were obligated to attend, but her father had stubbornly refused. Betty sighed as the yelling continued, frustrated with the knowledge that her mother had told her earlier in the evening how unenthusiastic she was about attending the event.
She was beyond the point of tears, too numb to the experience to have such a reaction. Emotion had given way to emptiness, a deep-set hollowness settling at her core. She curled up beneath her blankets, wrapping her arms around her stuffed cat Caramel for comfort and checking her phone one more time.
Betty began browsing through Netflix, finding herself too disheartened to actually select anything. It seemed like she had watched everything in the past few weeks, in constant need of an escape. Giving up, she opened her music library and hit play.
There was nothing she could do. She’d tried intervening during the first few arguments, each time finding no success in dissolving the tension. No one ever got physical, the only real damage being done verbally, and both her parents were equally as venomous. While it always placed a heavy weight on Betty’s heart, she had learned that the fights passed faster when she simply stayed in her room, doing her best to remain unnoticed. So staying in her room was exactly what she planned to do.
Letting the soft acoustic of the guitar wash over her, Betty closed her eyes and did her best to pretend she couldn’t hear the dresser drawers slamming or her mother’s irrational cries.
Suddenly, her phone buzzed. Betty quickly reached for it, praying she had finally received her reply.
Betty’s eyes quickly darted to her window, but the familiar face was nowhere to be seen. Pulling herself out of her bed, she walked over to the window and slid it open.
Looking down, Betty smiled as she spotted Jughead, wearing his trademark jean jacket and beanie, standing on the ground and waving up at her.
“Come down!” He whisper-yelled, pointing to the ladder he had already propped up against her house.
Betty’s eyes widened at the suggestion. Sneaking out was not something she was accustomed to, the rule-breaking still feeling scandalous even after all the drama the town had been through. She hesitated, but another shout from her father was all the push she needed to shimmy through the window and down the ladder.
“Hi.” Jughead said as he gently assisted her off the ladder, placing his hands on her waist to stabilize her.
“Hi.” Betty echoed back, pulling closer and giving him a hello kiss, happy for a moment of relief.
“I got your text.” Jughead’s eyes were soft with concern. “Are your parents fighting again?”
“Yeah…” Betty’s eyes dropped to the ground, watching as her toes dug into the dirt beneath them. “It was just some stupid dinner party drama.”
“I’m sorry Bets.” Jughead sighed, running his hand down her arm until it connected with hers, “It will get better. Give it time.”
A half-hearted smile crossed Betty’s face, watching as he pulled her hand up to his lips and placed a gentle kiss on her fingertips. She sighed, looking up at him with tired eyes. “Just get me out of here.”
“Of course.” Jughead smiled, giving her hand a squeeze and pulling her away from the house.
Jughead led her to the street and opened the side door to FP’s truck, gesturing for her to get in. Betty didn’t need any persuasion to jump into the passenger seat.
They drove for about twenty minutes, windows rolled all the way down and soft music playing on the radio. They didn’t speak a word the entire way there, their only communication being Jughead’s hand intertwined in hers as she leaned back on the headrest and stared out at the trees that passed by.
Eventually Jughead pulled off to the side of the road and shut off the engine. Betty looked around, confused.
“Jug, where are we?” She furled her eyebrows “I thought we were going to go to Pop’s or something. There’s nothing around here.”
“Just trust me.” Jughead winked at her. He reached into the backseat, grabbed a blanket, and hopped out of the truck without another word.
Betty cautiously followed behind him, allowing herself to be led through the forest and up a small hill. After a minute or so, the trees gave way to a clearing, and Betty stopped short.
“Juggie,” her voice came out quiet and breathy, in awe of the field before her, “How did you know this was here?”
“You’re not the only one who has needed an escape before.” He admitted as he placed the blanket on the ground. He laid down on the blanket, signaling for her to do the same. She joined him, nestling into the crook of his elbow, his arm wrapping around her shoulder. They sat in silence for a bit, listening to the distant sound of crickets and staring up at the stars.
“I just don’t get it.” Betty’s voice came out small, almost imperceptible as it dissolved into the vast expanse of the night sky.
“Get what?” Jughead asked.
“Why they keep fighting. Why they’re still together.” Betty confessed, her tone laced with resentment and frustration. “Can’t they just choose already? Either be together and be happy or be apart.”
“Is that what you want?” Jughead’s voice was soft with surprise, and he turned his head to look at her. “For your parents to be apart?”
“Anything would be better than this. It’s just this constant argument.” Betty sighed heavily, biting her lip and looking back up at the sky. “I just don’t understand,” she said quietly, “how two people who used to love each other so much could fall apart so badly.”
Jughead didn’t respond, knowing that her words were no longer directed at him, but rather being thrown into the sky, a question meant for the universe. Instead, he simply tightened his grip on her shoulder, slowly rubbing his thumb against her skin as a small act of reassurance.
“Juggie?” Betty whispered, turning toward him, her doe-eyes wide with concern.
“What if…” Betty paused, unsure of herself, “What if that happens to us?”
“Betty,” He reached up to cup her cheek with his palm, every ounce of his body radiating sincerity. “That will never happen. I won’t let it. I would never be able to forgive myself if it did.”
He moved his thumb to wipe an escaped tear from her cheek, her face flushing with heat. “You and me? We’re in it for the long haul.”
“Promise?” She whispered, the shakiness of her tone revealing her insecurities.
“I promise.” Jughead leaned in, kissing the tip of her nose and wiping away the wild tears that streamed down her face with relief. Her pulled her close, leaving butterfly kisses on her forehead and tracing his fingers along her jawline. “I love you Betty Cooper. And that’s never going to change.”
Betty nodded, her throat too tight with emotion to respond. She curled into Jughead’s chest, letting him to wrap her up in his warm embrace. Her ran his fingers through her hair and cooed soft affections in her ear, allowing her to leave tear stains on his chest.
Slowly but surely her breathing steadied, and Betty unfurled herself from his arms, looking at him with red-rimmed eyes.
“I love you Jughead Jones. Please never forget it.”
“Never.” He vowed, eyes shining with devotion. Betty leaned in and kissed him, all of her cares lifting from her chest and floating off into the night sky and disappearing beyond the stars.
Anon: hiiii, can you do a reaction for nct u when their girlfriend doesn’t like celebrating her birthday? thanks in advance!
I hope this is alright! Sorry for the wait :-)
He wouldn’t make a big deal out of your preference. At first, he was a little surprised since usually you were excited for other people’s birthdays and holiday days, and happy to go to social events. It’d show he was surprised but he’d quickly cover his shock up and apologise. Grabbing your hand, he’d brush your hair to one side and tell you that that was okay with him and he’d do whatever you wanted him to do. He wouldn’t want to make you feel bad for not liking to celebrate your birthday, and for that, you were grateful.
Taeyong would wholeheartedly understand you. He would already have an idea that you didn’t like it; you weren’t the type to make a big deal out of things or have the attention on you. So, he wouldn’t be surprised at all. He’d reassure that it was okay and when it came to your birthday, he’d make sure not to make a big deal out of it involuntarily and would ensure that no one else did too. However, he’d still want to give you a present and after hearing you didn’t like celebrating your birthday, he’d instead buy you a very special, personal and probably expensive gift instead.
Unlike the rest of the boys who’d let you not celebrate your birthday, Doyoung would do very thing he could to convince you to celebrate your birthday just this once. At first, he was a bit direct and hyper about it, suggesting massive parties with many people coming. Then he suggested weird ones with slime swimming pools and chocolate fairies. Eventually he’d manage to convince you to go out for dinner just the pair of you: “We won’t go for your birthday though, Y/N. We’re going to this restaurant because it’s new and I wanted to try it out, okay?”
He’d be very pouty when he found out you didn’t like celebrating your birthday. For him, it was one of the few days in the year where he could spoil you and shower you with gifts and affection without being questioned for his “weird” behaviour. You’d apologise sheepishly, feeling embarrassed for your preference; Ten would shake his head repeatedly assuring you that you didn’t need to apologise for that. On random days throughout the year, he’d give you many gifts, lots of food and affection as a way of spoiling you which he couldn’t do on your birthday.
Jaehyun would be very understanding and would push you into doing anything. On your birthday, he’d still wish you happy birthday and give you a special present, but after that, he wouldn’t go on about it. You’d end up staying in bed, eating pizza and ice cream, watching dramas and kissing. Over the years, this’d become your tradition and I see Jaehyun as being the type to slowly not like celebrating his birthday either, so you’d do the same on his birthday (with maybe in the evening having a small party for him with his family, friends and NCT)
Mark would be surprised at this for sure; he would never have heard of something like that before. He wasn’t disappointed or upset - if that was what you wanted, then he wasn’t going to stand in the way. But he’d definitely be intrigued as to why you didn’t like it and how it came about. He’d ask you a lot of questions, softly and gently, ensuring you were uncomfortable or embarrassed. If ever someone asked you about why you didn’t like it and how it wasn’t right or was weird, Mark would step in for you and defend you, telling them to back off.

Author’s Note: I’ll admit I wasn’t sure how to write this but heres my best shot. Happy Birthday fam!
I have literally written 2000 words on the mogami arc alone. If I posted every single one of my headcanons i’d kill everybody’s dash but here are some of my favorites:
-Ritsu is afraid of thunder (The sound reminds him of ???% explosion)
See also: Ritsu has seriously sensitive ears and he can hear lightbulbs going out, he can hear dog whistles, and literally a third of the reason why he doesn’t like Reigen is because Reigen has a plug in roach killer in his wall and it makes the most annoying ‘buzzing’ sound ever.
-Shou bribes Ritsu with candy to be his art model among other things
-Shou is very, v e r y touch deprived so he’s constantly trying to hug his friends
-Shou never realizes when he’s actually really fucking sick. He could vomit and still blame it on his allergies making him queasy.
-When Dimple was alive, alive he was a B-List actor who never made it truly big and he’s salty that he never got the recognition he deserved so thats what fueled the ‘i wanna be a god’ thing
See also: Reigen owns…every single one of his movies because thats Reigen’s favorite type of movie….Dimple will never e v e r tell Reigen that hes in all of them.
-Shou is afraid of the dark because bad things happen in the dark. (suprise attacks, bugs, ect…) and he sleeps with a nightlight
-REIGEN!!!!CAN!!!! SING!!!! (three separate links) and he wanted to become a singer when he grew up, but because children are awful little shits he stopped liking his own voice….buuuut….when Mob was getting sleepy on the way back from exorcisms Reigen would hum him a little lullaby so he could sleep easier!!!
-Shou has never ever been to school. Hes had some tutors before but He never got the chance to go to an actual school with actual people and sometimes he spies on Ritsu in his school because he’s kinda interested in the school life.
-Shou has no idea how to interact with kids his age. He talks about kids like hes an adult but really hes a kid too.
-Teru cannot dance. If he says he can hes lying. He can DDR but he c a n n o t d a n c e
-Mob still hangs out with that ghost fam!!!! Also the Saint hoshino girls!!!!
-Teruki never got the talk…..He accidentally saw an ecchi and was so traumatized he avoided girls for a month before he actually tried to figure out ‘wHA T THE FUC K DID I JUST WATCH’
-Teruki’s favorite series is ____ Precure. He thinks magical girls are cute and he used to want to be one. (He also watched the magical boy anime)
-RITSU WATCHES J DRAMA AND K DRAMA
-Shou never got taken to the fucking eye doctor and he needs glasses, and the first time he gets glasses hes like ‘oh…..vision isn’t supposed to be all fuzzy?’
-Teru is a theatre gay™
-When asked what dances he knew Seri did the caramelldansen and asked if it was still relevant….Reigen lost 10 years off of his life because of that.
-Shou doesn’t eat food unless hes has either watched it being made, or made it himself. This behavior concerns Reigen. He’ll eat prepackaged foods but only if he himself buys them or Ritsu or somebody else he trusts gives it to him.
-During the Mogami arc Mob had to eat his food fast or risk it be taken away, and also He didn’t have food at home very often so he’d often be very hungry…This causes him to eat really fast in the real world. He’ll eat an entire plateful of food in less than 5 minutes because hes subconsciously afraid it might get taken away again…
-Seri and Shou have an odd relationship. Sho had a mild distaste for Seri because he was his father’s lapdog…but also Seri has patched him up and cared for him a great number of times….Their relationship improves tenfold once Seri leaves Shou’s father
-Shou hates being in his actual house because its too large and too empty to be a home.
-Shou started art because it was like therapy.
-mob got into baking and cooking during the mogami arc because he felt like it was something he could do and profit from; however, mogami made sure none of it turned out great. it was always just half decent. but when he tries again out of the arc its actually really freaking good. it isn’t perfect. but its great and everybody who eats it is like ‘holy shit’ where’d you learn this but mob doesn’t know, because everything he’s ever made has been shit
-TSUBOMI IS ACE/DEMIROMANTIC.
-she’s impressed with muscles because she respects the hard work and determination behind gaining them. and everybody can get muscles right? That’s why she stopped caring about mob’s powers because it really was like impossible for other people to get it and so it grew boring to her-she doesn’t think just 'being great at something’ without the hard work behind being great is great at all idk
-She doesn’t like being forced into situations that’s why she’s so reluctant to be a dimple follower because 'what the fuck, who even is this guy. it’s just a tree. chill.
-hc that she thinks muscles are so cool that she actually decides to work out herself and she does judo
but she’s pretty good and she likes the productivity of working hard for a goal.
-Tsubomi wears shorts under her skirts.
-Tsubomi is super touchy feely with her friends and she’s always holding hands or leaning on them or hugging them and sometimes she even kisses them!
-somebody asks her out randomly and her response is 'why’ because she’s never even met the dude before
[THIS POST IS GETTING TOO LONG PM ME IF YOU WANT MORE OF MY HCS LAMO]
You took the rest of your clothes and slammed the door behind you when you left their room which hidded an angry Sirius. You stomped into your room, run into the bathroom to take a much needed shower. As the warm water touched your skin you could feel your mind filling with the recent events.
You and Sirius have been dating for over a year now, but lately all you do is fight and shout which ended with you crying alone most of the times. Then after a few hours or days you would just fuck and make up, before doing it again from the begining. It was a never ending circle of pain, tears and shouting and you couldn`t take it anymore. He was cold. He used to didn`t pay attention to other girls while he was with you, when they touched him he would just shove them away gently, but now he didn`t seem to mind the attention. At first you thought he only did it in order to make you jealous. But he never stopped. Remus, who was one of yours best friends tired to comfort you, but you never missed his or James` sad smiles and it hurt you.
Maybe he was finally tired of you. You knew it would happend at some point, but somewhere deep in your heart you hoped you were wrong. You were at your limit. It was too much to handle and whenever you tried to sit down and talk with him about it, he would just get distracted. The only touches he would gave you were when you to made love, but now you were not sure if it was the correct way to describe it, because you were pretty sure there was no more love involved in it, just sex.
You went out of the shower , catching a glimpse of yourself in the mirror. Your long (h/c) hair was sticking to you, your (e/c) eyes were red and you had dark bags under them from all the nights you lost crying in your pillow or in your hands when you were laying naked next to him while he was fast asleep.
You decided that you had to do what was the best for you. You tried to understand him but you couldn`t. It destroyed you so you had to end it. You were going to break up with Sirius Black. If he wanted to get affection from other women then so be it, but you were not going to sit and watch.
This is just a little extension to what my previous post explains.
Right now, I just wanna cry. This community is being divided, and I freaking hate it. I wanna cry at the fact that Keemstar had the nerve to make a video about it. And now more people are hating on Jack. More than ever.
What the hell Keem? You’re just making the situation worse.
I went into the comments section of Keem’s video and people are calling Jack out.
Me personally, I do agree with what he said.
His reasoning was excellent. I’m sorry if you disagree.
I’m currently watching the video, and I want to cry. Just cry.
What’s wring with this world? Why can’t we all get along?
I need to get off of this video. If I keep on watching, I’m going to lose all of my brain cells.
Jack should not feel bad. He’s still friends with Felix. And he did defend him. Like I said in my last post, he defended both parties. He also said what both parties did wrong.
Why did all of this start? Why is Jack getting a lot of controversy?!
UGH CAN I JUST CRAWL INTO A HOLE AND NOT COME OUT UNTIL THIS DRAMA IS OVER?!
Nobody deserves this amount of hate!
Either agree, respectively disagree, or don’t even comment at all!
Anyways… Sorry…. I’m just really upset right now…
So last February is when I started watching korean dramas and since then it has just been a crazy snowball effect. I was trying to learn anything and everything possible about the hallyu wave and that is what this blog has kind of turned into. I just wanted to run down the list of dramas that I saw and in what order and what my general reactions to them were.
Since I am such a newb with korean entertainment, I feel like I watched a lot of the more popular well known dramas so I had a foundation to start building on. (like what actor’s/actress’ I enjoy the most, what genre ect ect.) I have also learned the entire korean alphabet and have been working on vocabulary as well. When I think about it, I have learned a lot and it hasn’t even been an entire year yet!
So here is my list.
First k drama ever was in last feb.
1. My Love From The Star 6/10
I was browsing on hulu one day and saw the picture for it of the lead actress and thought she was really pretty. I thought it might have been a japanese tv show so I had clicked on the description and found the synopsis interesting. After watching the first five minutes, I realized they were not speaking in japanese, it was korean! I remember physically pushing pause and thinking to myself about what I knew about korea. Sadly, the only thing I could think of was the division between north and south and that in elementary school I have a friend who was korean and that was about it.
So I can’t say I truly got fully addicted to My Love From the Star but it was really entertaining. Stuff that really stood out for me that kept me watching was the fashion, how funny the lead actress was and wanting to know about the murder case. It’s funny cause a lot of kdramas have romantic plot lines as I have come to fully understand but in this one, I understood that it was supposed to be in the forefront but I wasn’t feeling it. I didn’t think the chemistry was really there and I didn’t find anything about them that I could relate to. (However I did like the kiss scene at the end.)
Another thing that stood out was the fact that it was not over sexualized like many television shows in western culture. I wasn’t fully sold, but I found myself wanting more.
2. Boys Over Flowers 8/10
Alright. This is where my obsession started. After watching the first few episodes I was interested because of Jan Di. I LOOOVVVEEEDDD her character, she was cute and spunky and I wanted to see her stand up to the F4. I can’t say I was completely hooked in the beginning. It was a gradual process. I really hated Jun Pyo and I didn’t see how attractive Lee Min Ho was with his nasty attitude in the beginning. (did I have a lot to learn about the rich chaebol characters or what? hahaha) After seeing his softer side and how he really cared about Jan Di made me fall in love and then from that point onward I was appreciating every single damn scene with Lee Min Ho in it.
Around this time I had a really bad cyst and was bed ridden for a couple days while it drained, so what did I do? I stayed in bed and watched the entire series in two days! And I have no regrets. I had so many different emotions, I was laughing, crying, yelling at the screen because of stupid mistakes the characters made. Some scenes were just utterly ridiculous but let’s be honest, I was eating that shit up. I enjoyed every moment of Boys Over Flowers the first time I watched it. It was a guilty pleasure.
Note: I have watched many episodes from other dramas like Surplus Princess, to the beautiful you, liar game ect but I did not list them here because I have not finished watching them.
3. Personal Taste 6/10
So after Boys Over Flowers ended and reality set in that I couldn’t look at Lee Min Ho’s beautiful face anymore, I freaked out a little and started doing research on all of the dramas he had been in. Faith and Citty Hunter seemed really interesting but I felt like I was still so new at the kdrama thing, I needed something more light hearted and easy to follow.
Watching Personal Taste was an awesome experience. It was nice to see Lee Min Ho in a more mature role and I thought Son Yi Jin was cute in this one. The entire time I watched it I was wishing I could live in a house with that kind of architecture.
Although I found Personal Taste enjoyable, I was getting the same feelings that I did watching Boys Over Flowers! I was on a hunt to find something similar.
3. Playful Kiss 5.5/10
While doing my kdrama research a lot of people were recommending this one so I figured why not? It had Kim Hyun Joong in it and he played Ji Hoo in Boys Over Flowers. Let’s see him get the girl this time, I figured.
This….drama…..uhhh, guys where do I even begin? I wanted to absolutely hate it with a fiery passion but I didn’t because I liked almost all of the characters. The lead girl was soooo co dependent and obsessed with Hyun Joong’s character and I hated it! There was a second male lead in this one that loved her. (I think his name is Lee Tae Sung) And he was sooo fine! Ahhh I loved him. Kim Hyun Joong’s character treated her like absolute crap. And not the way Jun Pyo did to Jan Di. Like he seriously treated her like crap and she was completely okay with it. Pretty much I gritted my teeth and watched it for Lee Tae Sung and the lead girl’s friends. (they were funny!)
4. Faith The Great Doctor 7/10
So after the terrible disappointment with Playful Kiss I figured, fuck it I need Lee Min Ho in my life so I put on Faith. I really enjoyed all of Faith and this is one where I watched multiple episodes in one sitting. The entire progression with the war went on a little too slow for my liking but I did enjoy Lee Min Ho’s character as Choi Young. I loved the overall story and the ending was one of my favorite endings I have seen in a kdrama to date. I should also make note this is when I was exposed to actor Philip Lee I think his name is and I was happy when I saw him in Secret Garden.
Oh, one last thing, my boyfriend actually was interested in this one. All of the other ones he rolled his eyes at haha.
5. The Heirs 5.5/10
So at this point I was still super in love with Lee Min Ho and there was a new drama that was buzzing all over drama land called The Heirs. Pretty much same plot line as Boys Over Flowers, I was excited!
I have come to realize that certain dramas (The Heirs, My Love From The Star) are so over rated and they aren’t even that great. Although I did enjoy certain pieces of Heirs (Kim Woo Bin, the mute mom, the relationships between the mothers ect) I really didn’t like how feminine they made Lee Min Ho’s character. Like…after watching this I didn’t find him that attractive. Actually, after watching The Heirs I took a break from watching kdramas because I was so disappointed. I mean at that point I was like, what other dramas am I going to watch? Lee Min Ho isn’t in them…
6. Coffee Prince 10/10
The Gods in heaven sent Coffee Prince to me. And Gong Yoo!!! So after my disappointment with Lee Min Ho in Heirs, it was so nice to watch a new drama and actually find a male lead attractive. The entire story was executed perfectly and the chemistry between Gong Yoo and Yoon Eun Hye is so amazing, they go from being best friends to lovers. This drama especially touched me because it isn’t the typical, “seperate the two and give them heartache.” scenario. The music wasn’t over played and annoying, I mean seriously, everything was perfect in my book. This is still my favorite drama to date.
7. Secret Garden 7/10
For the most part I found Secret Garden enjoyable. This is where I was introduced to Hyun Bin who I find to be an exceptional actor. The only reason I am not super crazy about this one is the main actress unfortunantely is not up to par with Hyun Bin’s acting skills. At least for me, it was REALLY obvious Hyun Bin had committed to his role 100% and she was somewhere in the 72% range.
8. City Hunter 9.5/10
After finally getting over my disappointment with Heirs, I decided it was time to watch City Hunter. To my surprise I found it on Netflix so I didn’t have to watch it on my computer! I watched it on my PS3 and my boyfriend actually joined me in watching it. He never thought he would get used to the subtitles but he did because he got into the story along with me. The entire thing was enjoyable for both of us and I am really glad I got to have that experience with my boyfriend. So ladies! If you like watching kdramas and have a boyfriend, I highly recommend watching City Hunter with him lol.
9. My Name is Kim Sam Soon 8/10
I have heard this is the mother of all Kdramas so why wouldn’t I want to watch it?! I have to say I absolutely loved the entire drama, one of the funniest ones I have seen. Kim Sun Ah’s acting really stood out for me so she instantly became a favorite and of course Hyun Bin was awesome. One of my favorite scenes is the piano scene ;)
10. Scent of a Woman 9.5/10
So I decided to watch this one because of Kim Sun Ah and lemme tell you…you’re going to need some tissues lol! For some reason I found this one listed as a romantic comedy…it is not! This is a melodrama if I ever did see one. It is about dealing with cancer and death so it is a serious subject. I kept thinking by the end she was going to me miraculously healed and if that was the case I was going to hate the whole thing but that is not what happened. It was much more realistic so this is one of my favorite kdrama endings along with Faith.
11. Rooftop Prince 10/10
This I believe is the only other drama besides coffee prince that I give a 10/10 to. I loved the story, the directing, writing, acting and everything about it. Sometimes I myself can get a little spoiled and I saw myself in the Crown Prince which made me laugh. When he gets mad and yells it feels like I am looking at a male version of myself. This is a must watch for EVERYONE!
12. Goong 7/10
And now I end 2014 off with Goong. I am almost done watching it! I have to say that I really do enjoy it but it is sooooo slow right now! I am on episode 19 and I am almost 10% positive they could have made this show shorter. I am finding myself dozing off every time the elders are having a conversation. All their conversations are almost always the same. But I have to say that I do love Yoon Eun Hye in this drama.
After I finish Goong I will probably try and finish some dramas I am almost done with (surplus princess and liar game mainly)
I feel very good with this year of discovering the hallyu wave and I can’t wait for next year!
(you know how in a lot of kdramas when the female character isn’t “pretty” she usually needs a makeover first before getting with the lead, change her look altogether or they’ll get together but the male lead will still joke about her looks; but then in WLFKBJ Joon Hyung is just like “my girlfriend is so pretty!” “i think she’s sexy the way she is” etc and its not even said as a joke, like he means it 100% and i think its so nice~ okay bye now)
BTS Yoongi / Words: 4022 / Warnings: Smut, fluff Anonymous request -
Hey I was wondering if you could write a fic where you and yoongi are roommates and there’s some obvious tension there. Then one day you bring a guy over and the next morning yoongi fucks you very blatantly outside your door while he sleeps inside.” kill me i feel so weird writing smut but i hope you enjoy!
“Did you steal my hoodie again?”
You jumped when one of your earbuds was pulled suddenly from your ear and your music was replaced by a deep, demanding voice. You looked away from your too-bright laptop screen to see your roommate standing over you. Even in your dim room you could see him scowling at you. You paused your music and turned on the lamp that resided on your bedside table to illuminate his scrutinizing gaze.
“What?” you asked innocently, blinking up at him as your eyes adjusted to the new lighting.
“You’re a thief,” he said blatantly.
You shook your head and put your hands in front of you defensively. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“You’re literally wearing it right now!” he pointed an accusatory finger at your chest. You looked down and you were, indeed, wearing one of his favorite hoodies. “I looked for it for a good three days, and it turns out you had it the whole time, you greasy little shit.”
“You steal my stuff all the time, Yoongi,” you retorted. “You used up all the bath bombs that I bought from the sale, and I actually wanted to use those.”
“That’s different,” he rolled his eyes.
You elbowed him playfully as you got up from your bed. “You’re right, it is. Because I asked to borrow this, whereas you just steal my shit constantly.”
“Whatever,” he said dismissively. “Can I have it back?”
“Why? You have other hoodies,” you told him as you walked past him to your doorway.
“They’re dirty, just give me that one,” he complained.
You didn’t have to look behind you to know that he was following you down the hall, right on your heels. He was just as stubborn as you were, maybe even moreso. You didn’t want to relinquish the well worn, cozy hoodie to him mainly because of your pride. But you knew Yoongi practically better than you knew yourself, and you knew he’d go to any length to get what he wanted. He might be a bit lazy at times, but fuck was he determined when he wanted to be. It didn’t even surprise you when he managed to slip past you and stood in the entrance to the small kitchen of your apartment, blocking your path. You tried to go to his side, but he stuck his arm out. You went for the other side, and got the same reaction. You ended up with your faces only inches from each other.
(me, lying in a dark room, its nearly 1 am here, headcanoning)
i think gilbert made sure ludwig learned how to do all sorts of handiwork. like ludwig can cook, sew, knows all sorts of cleaning hacks so he would be self-sufficient and soldierly. but and then as soon as ludwig was a master at all this, gilbert (and roderich i bet) dumped clothes that needed mending in his lap and then were like “off to go punch francis in the dick bye”.
meanwhile matthew is still on arthur’s couch eating all his snacks and waiting for arthur to mend his socks.
Plot: Dan and Phil have always competed with each other, ever since middle school, for the lead male role in plays. When their director decides to make the play old-fashioned, with the whole cast male, Dan is Juliet, Phil is Romeo. They are far from pleased.
A/N: I hope you guys enjoy it! Sorry it’s angsty right now, it’ll get fluffy soon! Please don’t steal/repost, but likes and reblogs are appreciated!)
I was feeling great as I walked out of the auditorium and toward the drama room of the high school. I just auditioned for Romeo for my last play, and I was a shoe in. I’ve had half of the lead male roles since middle school. I felt good about my audition.
“Did you hear?” PJ pulled me aside in the hallway.
“Hear what?” I asked.
“Phil Lester auditioned to be Romeo too,” PJ whispered. Of course he was. I grit my teeth. I nodded and walked into the drama room. Phil Lester has also had half of the lead male roles, we’ve been competing for them since middle school. I would do everything in my power to make sure that Phil Lester did not get the part of Romeo. I signed up for it the day it was announced. I’d already talked to Mr. Halroy, our drama director, about being male role, and he was all for it! Phil Lester is about to be taken down, once and for all. It was our senior year, last play for both of us, and I would have the final win.
“Come, come,” Mr. Halroy ushered all of the drama club kids into his room. “Auditions are complete!” Some people in the club clapped. I crossed my arms over my torso and glared at Phil. He glared back. “I’ve just finished meeting with council and we have everyone’s parts. Ready? Listen for your part.” Maddie, the student director stepped in, holding a list in her hands.
“Romeo is Phil Lester,” she started. My heart dropped in my chest. I felt tears brim my eyes, and I began walking out of the room. “Benvolio is Ryan Danka. Mercutio is Zach Jennbel. Juliet is Dan Howell…” I stopped listening once my name was called. Juliet? A female part? Hell no. I stormed into Mr. Halroy’s office, and so did Phil. I shoved him on my way in.
“Halroy, in case you didn’t know, I have a penis!” I yelled. “There is no way in Hell I’m playing the role of Juliet.”
“And I will not be Romeo if he is Juliet,” Phil added, both of our arms were crossed.
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” I glared at him.
“Boys, break it up,” Mr. Halroy sighed and rubbed the area between his eyes. “The play was originally acted out with only boy actors. We’re doing it like it was then. There are no ifs, than, or buts about it. Stop being so childish. You’re 17 and 18 years old. It’s time to grow the fuck up. Now get out of my office,” he flicked his wrists, motioning for us to leave. We both walked out.
“I hate you,” I muttered to Lester.
“The feeling is mutual,” he muttered back. I walked out of the drama room, not bothering to stay for the rest of the meeting and walked home.
“How was school?” My mother asked. I walked upstairs to my room ignoring her.
I sighed into my pillow and fell asleep.
After the final bell rang, I walked back into the drama room. “Here, Dan,” I heard someone’s voice. I turned and saw Maddie. “You didn’t get a copy of the play yesterday. Your lines are highlighted, like usual,” she handed me a binder containing the play. “I know you and Phil don’t get along, but you know you’re going to have to rehearse outside of school together. If not for the sake of the play, then do it for the sake of my sanity, please.”
“Why would you make us the leads? Especially in this play. You know we can’t stand each other,” I muttered.
“Just try it.” I nodded begrudgingly and sat in a chair, reading over the lines. I can’t believe I’m the female lead, I rolled my eyes.
“Howell,” I looked up and saw Phil standing in front of me. “Want to rehearse for the play tonight?”
“Well you’re sure as hell not coming to my house,” I muttered.
“Damn, you can come to mine then,” his voice was defensive.
“Fine,” he said as he walked away. I sent a text to my mom knowing play rehearsal would run a bit longer today. After we’d rehearsed in class and read from the scripts, Phil and I waited until everyone left, sitting on opposite sides of the room. He stood up. “Are you coming?” He spat.
“Don’t get your panties in a bunch, princess,” I muttered, following him out of the building.
“Ah, but you’re Juliet, so between us, you’re more of a princess than me, your highness,” Phil walked over to a car and set his stuff in the back. I followed his actions and sat in the passenger seat when he sat in the front.
“Fuck off, asshole,” I held my middle finger up to him. He smirked. He pulled into a rich neighborhood and up to an expensive looking, well kept house. Of course he would have money. I rolled my eyes and followed Phil as we took our bags and walked into his house.
“Phil, who’s your friend?” She asked. I had to stop myself from snorting when she called me Phil’s friend.
“That’s Dan. We’re rehearsing for a play,” Phil replied as he walked up the stairs, I stayed a few steps behind him, but followed him nonetheless. Phil went into a room, which I assumed was his. There were Muse posters and Pokemon stuffed animals scattered about the room, as well as a lion stuffed animal sitting on his bed. The floors were decently clean, only a few stray clothes littered them. “We should start from Scene II, Capulet’s Orchard,” Phil muttered, looking at his copy in front of him. I pulled mine out of my bag, and stood there not knowing where to sit. There was only his bed, so I opted for the floor, since he was sitting on the bed.
“Kay,” I replied, turning a few pages to find where he was talking about. Phil talked first in this part, and I read along in my copy.
“…Oh, I wear a glove on that hand, that I might touch that cheek!” Phil finished his line.
“Ay, don’t fucking touch me,” I replied.
“Seriously, Howell? Be serious for once in your life,” he rolled his eyes.
“Aye, me,” I read the line. Phil and I continued to go back and forth reading our lines for a while, until someone knocked on his door.
“Come in,” Phil said, more loud than necessary.
“Dinner’s ready,” Phil’s mom opened the door. “Are you staying for dinner, Dan?” She asked. I stood up and put my play into my bag.
“No, thank you, ma’am. I should be getting home,” I followed her down the stairs. Phil was behind us.
“Bye, Dan,” Phil walked me to the door.
“Later, Lester,” I muttered. I tightened my hoodie around myself and pulled my hood up; it was cold.
“Wait, Howell,” Phil said as he opened the door. “Do you need a ride home?” I turned around to face him.
“No.” I continued to walk.
“Are you sure?” He asked. I didn’t reply, just continued walking. I heard him mutter ‘whatever’ and then his door close. My house was a good couple miles away, at least seven. I shoved my hands in my pockets and walked out of his neighborhood and away from town, toward my house. It was nearly dark outside, and every tree freaked me out. I vowed never to watch The Blair Witch Project again.
Once I made it home, I noticed my mother was asleep on the couch. I grabbed a bag of chips from the cupboard and walked up to my room. I recited a few parts, took a shower, and then fell back asleep.
The classes seemed to last forever, and a week had gone by since I’d been to Phil’s house. I was surprised at how much we had in common. Same anime, I saw a few CD’s sitting out of the same one I’m watching. Same favorite band it seemed, Muse. Same taste in games like Pokemon. It freaked me out a bit. We haven’t talked since I last went to his house, unless we were rehearsing for the play during drama.
The final bell rang, and I went back into the drama room. I sat down in a chair I usually sat in, and watched PJ sit next to me. “Haven’t seen you and Phil yelling at each other like you used to,” he observed. I shrugged. “Did something happen when you were at his house?”
“No,” I replied. “We haven’t even been near each other.”
“Ready?” Mr. Halroy stood in the center of the room. “We need our Romeo and Juliet. This is Act I, Scene V.” Phil and I began rehearsing the lines, still using our scripts.
“Saint’s don’t move, though grant prayers,” I read.
“Then move not, while I take my prayer’s effect,” Phil read. We both took a double take looking at our scripts.
“I’m not kissing him,” I muttered, looking to Mr. Halroy.
“Ditto,” Phil replied, rolling his eyes. I crossed my arms. Halroy rubbed the area between his eyes.
“Do the stage kiss then,” Maddie stepped in. “Phil, put your hands on both sides of Dan’s face, placing your thumb over his lips. Therefore, you’ll both be kissing Phil’s thumb, rather than each other.”
I scoffed. “Just do it, boys,” Mr. Halroy stepped in. Phil put his hands on both sides of my face, using his left thumb to cover my lips. His blue eyes met my brown eyes, before he leaned in and we both had our lips touching his thumb. For a second, I didn’t mind him touching me. After he pulled away, I stepped back and shook my head.
“This isn’t a good idea, Mr. Halroy,” I said as I walked out of the classroom. I wasn’t sure if it was because Phil and I can’t work together, or because I was afraid of actually liking Phil. But either way, I needed to clear my head.
(A/N: So, Romeo and Juliet is considered public domain and therefore not illegal, but I did change a few words just in case. But they’re still really close. I hope you enjoy! Feel free to give me feedback! Please don’t steal!)
