i still love henry more than you though

NON-SPOILER REVIEW OF PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES

HOLY CRAP IT IS FINALLY HERE! Let me tell you, I have been anticipating this film since it was announced that Javier would be playing the villain back in 2015. I have tracked it, followed it, and kept an eye on it for two years straight now… and now I’ve seen it! So, was it good?

Let’s start with the pros of this film, because there are quite a few!

- The CGI in this film was absolutely incredible. It was groundbreaking. The ships looked amazing, the open waters were beautiful, the creatures in the film looked awesome, and of course, Capitan Salazar’s CG hair looked seamless. No complaints there.

- The acting in this film was great. Johnny Depp was as usual, fantastic in his role of Captain Jack Sparrow, and he was hilarious as usual. I was fortunate to see the film in a rather packed IMAX theater, and the crowd loved Jack and his humor. The new cast members were great, as well. Though personally, I found Henry to be the better of the two new young faces. He had a more compelling motivation, and was a better actor than Kaya, I thought. Javier Bardem as Capitan Armando Salazar was fantastic, though I expected nothing less. He was menacing, terrifying, unpredictable, and still carried a bit of that Javier charm that he adds to every role. Loved it. Best part of the movie.

- Capitan Salazar is a pro in himself. He was a fantastic villain whom you really understood and even could empathize with. However, I do have one complaint about the character that I will address further down.

- This film did a great job at really recapturing that sense of adventure that some of the other films lacked. It was amazing to hear that iconic Pirates score and watch Jack Sparrow try and escape his ill-fortune once again. For that, I commend the filmmakers a job well done.

- The score in this film is fantastic as well. Though it isn’t Hans Zimmer this time around, the new composer did a fantastic job. There were several moments in the film where the music was just breathtaking, AND THE SCORE WHEN THE CREDITS ARE ROLLING WAS AMAZING. If anyone knows the title of that track, I would appreciate the info!

Let’s get to some cons, because there are a few things that did bother me a little.

- The new characters were not very compelling. In particular, I found that I really didn’t care at all about Carina, even though there is a major plot reveal in the film that ties in with her. I found that her acting was okay, but she in herself lacked a bit. Her motivation for searching for the Trident wasn’t quite strong enough and kind of got lost in the storyline.

- Which reminds me… in the middle of the film, the plot gets a bit convoluted. You have Barbossa’s ships, Salazar’s ship, the British Navy’s ships, and Jack’s ship, and they are all pretty much chasing after each other. I could have done without the British Navy subplot, though they and their ship did suffer a pretty awesome fate. But the film did kind of jump around a lot, and at times it was difficult to keep up.

- Captain Salazar. NOW HOLD UP. YOU KNOW I HAVE NOTHING BAD TO SAY ABOUT JAVS OR HIS BADASS GHOST VILLAIN, so take a breath. My con, is that once again, I felt like Javier’s villain was a bit underutilized. We see him quite a bit, and his presence in the film is the central plot point that keeps the characters moving to their destination. His character is what keeps that sense of urgency present throughout the movie. However, I wanted more. Better yet, I wanted to see Salazar come up with some sort of plan or strategy. I just needed more Salazar overall, as he was my favorite part of the movie.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is not a perfect film, nor was it ever supposed to be. I think that that is where many critics get lost. They expect every damn movie they see to be the greatest thing ever. No. Take it for what it is, Pirates 5 is a fun, entertaining adventure film that will make you laugh, cry, and feel everything in between. It may not be the best adventure film ever, but it has a lot of heart, and it shows.

My score 8/10

tbh i am such a salty wolf hall fan because it gets more flack than the tudors even though it’s great because of who they write anne i guess? but like it was only six episodes, which i personally wish they had gotten two 10 episodes series to adapt both books, because anne in both books is wonderful and will make you want cromwell and anne to start a messy, torrid love affair

Can we have something about Roland deciding that he wants to stay with Regina after all this mess?

Angsty but happy in the same sense

She looked to her right the moment she felt a tug on her jacket sleeve, eyes finding nothing but air as her brow furrowed in confusion. “Regina?” came a small voice that had her looking down to find a mop of messy curls and dimples denting tear-slicked cheeks.

“Roland,” she breathed, that now familiar lump thickening in her throat as she bent to lift the small boy into her arms, glancing over to find Little John standing with the rest of Robin’s men, watching the interaction with nothing more than a gentle curiosity, before she looked back to Roland. One small fist held the material of her jacket tight whilst the other hand was resting on her shoulder, his fingers playing with the ends of her hair in the way he usually did when she was rocking him to sleep. It had her holding him tighter to her and leaning in to press a kiss to his temple, lingering there for a long moment as she fought back her tears. “How are you, my sweet little knight?”

It was torturous watching those little eyes welling with unshed tears, his chin wobbling as he attempted to find his voice through his grief. “I miss my Papa, Regina” he confessed on a shaky breath before he was lunging forward in her arms to wrap his own around her neck, burying his face into her neck as his body trembled with his sobs.

She hooked her arm beneath his bottom tighter before lifting the other to rub her hand along the expanse of his back as she bowed her head to rest her cheek against his temple. “I do too, sweetheart but you must remember how much your father loves you,” it was so very unfair, “you must always remember that okay?” and when he nodded into her neck she resumed rubbing at his back and begun rocking them gently from side to side.

She could feel so many pairs of eyes on them, watching their interaction but she didn’t care. Mary Margaret was cuddled into Charming’s side, Neal asleep in her arms and Regina could practically see the shimmer of tears in the woman’s eyes from where she stood. Henry was with Emma and Killian at the opposite end of the counter – she still couldn’t bring herself to look at the returned pirate, not when she’d buried her own love only an hour before – he was coming home with Regina tonight, he’d already asked if he could and of course she’d allowed him – “you never have to ask, it’s your home too, Henry” – but for now he was allowing her time with Roland and though she knew he was far more than just her little boy now, she still couldn’t help but marvel at his maturity and hope that perhaps she’d done something right during his childhood to help contribute to that.

“I wanna stay with you.”

Her rocking stopped at the sound of Roland’s quiet cry before she began moving again once she’d comprehended his statement and assured him “of course you can, sweetheart,” and then, more to herself, “we’ll ask your Uncle John to get your overnight bag and sort out an appropriate time for him to pick you up tomo-“

“No!”

She tightened her grip on him the instant he shot back in her arms with both hands on her shoulders, jumping in surprise at the volume of his exclamation. People were most definitely staring now but, again, she didn’t care.

“I wanna stay with you forever, Regina” he clarified, all blotchy cheeks and sob induced hiccups.

Her eyes moved between his own before automatically looking over to where Little John was, noticing that he was making his way through a small crowd of people and towards them – no doubt to pull Roland from her arms – before she looked back to Roland. “Honey, what about the merry men? Your uncles? Your father’s men?” she shook her head gently, her heart-breaking in her chest at the remembrance of the bedroom they’d almost finished decorating for the tiny tot in her arms, a surprise created both by herself and Henry for him before any of this mess.

“I wanna be with you,” he insisted tearfully, his fingers curling into her jacket once more as though he were afraid she was going to toss him aside or force him away from her.

She was about to speak again, about to try to explain as gently as she could that it wasn’t her decision to make when she felt a warm palm on the small of her back – so achingly unfamiliar – and turned to find Little John smiling down sympathetically at the pair of them, both tear-stained and almost crippled with their grief.

“Your Majesty,” he greeted respectfully, his hand retreating slowly as he looked between her and the boy he’d watched grow from an infant, “the men and I have already discussed what we believe to be best for Roland in terms of his living arrangements.”

Regina nodded, the lump in her throat thickening because this was going to be it, they were going to take him despite her desperation to keep him so very close to her. “I understand.”

John looked from her, to the men behind him, sharing a quick nod with them before turning back and confessing “and we have all agreed that for Roland to be truly happy, for him to truly remember and honour his father,” his voice shook at the mention of Robin, his best friend and leader, but he cleared his throat and continued “the boy needs to be with you.”

Regina nodded once more, a traitorous tear escaping from her eye as she moved to shift Roland into John’s arms before she stilled, his words beginning to sink in as Roland clung tighter to her neck like a spider-monkey to a tree. “Wait, you…you-what?”

“I can stay with you, Regina!” Roland exclaimed, overjoyed before he caught sight of her expression of complete shock and misinterpreted “you don’t want me?”

“Of course I do, Roland!” she was quick to correct, pulling him back against her as she tried to comprehend what was happening. They were letting him stay with her, live with her…forever.

“Of course, we ask that we be allowed to spend time with him also.”

“You need never ask,” Regina assured him, her hand in Roland’s hair as she bounced him lightly and attempted to keep her tears – these ones of happiness – from falling, absolute appreciation in her eyes as she held John’s gaze, “whenever you want.”

The large man nodded, lifting a hand to pat Roland’s back gently, “I can bring his stuff to you tomorrow afternoon? Give you all a chance to rest?”

She smiled gratefully, nodding as she suggested “perhaps you could all come over,” she paused, “I could prepare some food and drink for us all and maybe you could…” she coughed lightly, clearing her throat, “maybe you could tell me some stories about your fearless leader?”

John’s own eyes watered even as he accepted her offer and promised not to be late before bidding her goodbye and taking himself back to the rest of the men. They turned to grace her with warm smiles and nods before they seemed to be taking their leave from the wake, no doubt returning to Robin’s graveside to finish their celebrations of his life. She would take Roland, Henry and baby Robyn tomorrow – Zelena had already agreed to it – and they would sit and remember Robin together, the very thing she had planned for the rest of their lives. They would always remember him, she was going to make sure of it.

Prompt: established!SQ Emma and Regina have a fight because Regina thinks that Emma is being unfaithful to her so Emma goes out and gets drunk with ruby and gets a tattoo saying "property of the queen" on her and surprises Regina with it when she comes back.

Thanks for the prompt! NSFWish

Emma slams down her fourth tequila shot in an hour. She shouldn’t be drinking tequila. She can’t handle her tequila and she knows this. She signals the bartender for another shot.

“Do you think maybe you should slow down, Em?” Ruby asks.

Emma says nothing and just stares at the bar, she asked Ruby to come out with her that night but she hasn’t spent much time talking to her. Instead she’s been lost in her own world, reliving the instance that brought her to the bar in the first place.

A Place To Call Home- Chapter 2

I’ve gotten so many amazing responses for the story and I can’t tell you how excited it makes me!  Here’s the next chapter and it’s filled with Captain Cobra goodness!!  Hope you enjoy!!

Chapter 1

Chapter 2

“So, what was it like?”

Killian looked down at Henry as they headed down the sidewalk leading to Regina’s.  “What was what like?”

“Getting to punch your self in the face?” he asked with a grin.

Killian smiled slowly, letting out a soft chuckle.  “Your mother told you about that, did she?”

“She might have mentioned it.”

“Hmm…well, it was quite liberating to be honest…seeing myself back then reminded me just how different I was back then…I was ashamed of myself to be honest.”

“Well, you shouldn’t,” Henry said as they stopped at a corner, the street light above enveloping them in a perfectly round glow.  “It should have made you feel proud.”

“Proud?” he asked with a snort.  “Of what exactly?”

“Of how far you’ve come,” he said clearly and smiled when Killian burrowed his brows in thought.  “Seeing yourself and how you were should remind you just how much you’ve changed…and who you were back then lead you to where you are now.”

Killian studied him as he ran his tongue along the inside of his cheek and then wagged his hook at him.  “You’re quite the clever one, aren’t you?”

He gave him a smile.  “I have my moments.”

Killian chuckled as he rustled Henry’s hair with his hand before they continued their way slowly down the sidewalk.  “You constantly remind me of your father when he was your age.”

“How long were you with my dad?”

“Long enough for me to care a great deal for him,” he answered honestly as he dropped his hand from his head to his shoulder.  “And I’m going to miss him very much.”

“He died a hero.”

“Aye…that he did.”

Twenty One Months 1.5/3

Or, this was supposed to be a small fic fill for “I would love more misadventures of pregnant Mabel, panicky Dipper, and Henry” and it turned into this. Damnit.

—–

2.5 months

Dipper came back from a summons to find his twin in her work out clothes, strapping her gloves on.

“Uh, Mabel, what are you doing?”

She gave him a look that said “I think I know where you’re going with this but I’m going to give you a chance anyway.”

What she actually said was, “Boxing practice, like every other day silly.”

Dipper paled. “But…but…you’re pregnant,” he finally managed to blurt out.

Mabel’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Dipper, I’m just hitting a bag, the kids are currently the size of My thumbnail, and Dr. Freeman said it was fine.”

“What if the bag hits you the stomach?”

“It won’t.”

“But what if it does?”

“Trust me, it won’t.”

I can't lose you either

A/N: I once read it somewhere, in one of those writing advice sheets, that you shouldn’t be afraid of making your characters suffer and pushing them to their limits.

I may have taken that a bit too seriously this time.

This is the most deliciously heart-wrenching angst I’ve ever written.

All I can say is brace yourselves, and I hope you enjoy the feels overload. :)

With every heartbeat I have left
I will defend your every breath

She is holding onto him for dear life, her nails biting into his shoulders as she lets herself sob violently. His hand cradles the back of her head as he whispers incoherent words, his hook rubbing soothing circles on her back.

(It’s at these times when he wishes most he had both hands to hold her with, to bring comfort to her rather than touching a cold, murderous piece of metal to her soft, warm skin.)

“I- I can’t believe he’d hurt Henry.” She cries, the sheer agony in her voice making his heart break to pieces. He merely holds her tighter as he’s at a loss for words, focusing instead on holding back his own tears - and failing miserably at that. “But the worst is that it’s my fault, Killian. What kind of mother lets her own son get kidnapped?"

kayla-ships-klaine-and-destiel  asked:

it's father's day and henry's nervous about it because he sees killian as his dad but they never really talked about it

A/N: Hey, so I’m going to mix two of your prompts together to make it easier.

1. Father’s Day
2. Discuss having kids.

They’ve never discussed the absolution on the topic of father’s. Neal was Henry’s father, he will always be, but he was never really around. So, when father’s day pops up in less than a week, he finds himself in front of his mom.

She doesn’t know what’s gotten him so on edge, especially because there hasn’t been that much school work because all his tests and final projects have practically been handed in.

“Mom?”

She turns. “Yeah, Henry?”

“Father’s day is coming up,” he murmurs, “and I know you love Killian and that he loves you. And I like him for that because he makes you happy.” He shrugs. “But, I don’t know if I should do anything or not. I know he’s not my Dad, but he’s basically like… the only guy that hangs around with me besides Grandpa - I think that qualifies him to be like a fatherly figure to me.”

Smiling, she moves over to ruffle his hair. “Whatever you think is best, kid. Either way, Killian’s just happy to have us in his life, and whether or not you get him something to celebrate Father’s day with him… well, that’s up to you. I’m sure he’d be beyond happy to know that you think of him like a Dad though.”

“You think so?”

“I know so,” she assures him. “Now, how about you think about it over dinner at Granny’s tonight?”

Do people have negative reactions when you wear your fairy and sorceress outfits in public? If they do, how do you deal with it?? I've had to stop wearing similar outfits because people will be very rude about them where I live.

Oh yes of course there will always be rude people…. but its usually because they lack the confidence to express who they are and therefore take it out on other people. If they choose to be arrogant and mean thats fine but that doesn’t mean you or I have to let that negativity into our lives and personal space.

For me personally, as long as I’m happy thats all that really matters, because there isn’t anyone I’m trying to impress. In all honestly the more rude looks I get the more confident in my struts I become because its more important for me to believe in myself than to have other people like the way I dress.

Even so, every sour glance or comment can still be hurtful, so thats why I surround myself with people who love and respect me no matter what i wear, because my clothing doesn’t define me, its just a form of expression. ( On occasion though it can be cultural/religious based, but this always excites my friends and they encourage such garments or accessories because they know how happy these things make me, and my mental health is tremendously more vital than fitting in.)

Never stop being yourself for other people dear, because in the long run you will be much happier. Try reading works by Henry David Thoreau, Ralph Waldo Emerson or Nathaniel Hawthorne (specifically The Scarlet Letter). I found these writers to be extremely inspirational when it came to self-expression and they each promote individuality and self-reliance.

Lots of love and sparkles to you dear,

Lotheriel

What I found so interesting about the latest episode was after Emma's makeout with Hook, she pretends to be upset that he doesn't want to be with her when she's the dark one, but as soon as he turns around, she starts smirking. Yet when she talks to Henry and Regina, she looks legitimately upset when they walk away from her, even though she seems to be is deliberating driving Regina away. What are you planning Emma?

Henry and Regina have both always affected Emma much more than Hook- her relationship with him is v much built on “idc about your issues let’s make out” and it makes for a much shallower relationship in the long run. And I would think Dark Swan still perceives Regina as an equal and she seems to have retained some love for Henry. Hook is just lunch.
