i still havent stopped crying

so i just watched the video the leafs put out about violence against women and homophobia.
i watched it twice.
to say i am shell shocked is the most base description of my emotions right now.
i spent just about ten minutes crying and am still tearing up occasionally.
do you all know how many people follow the leafs? whether theyre on tumblr or not, whether its a casual following or an obsessive following, do you all know HOW MANY PEOPLE this video could reach?
that’s millions of people watching a video of two of their alternate captains, a star defenseman, and a man whose literal job it is to fight on ice, shouting down violence against women. pledging to empower the women in their lives. casually (it was only mentioned once, by morgan rielly) but firmly shutting down homophobia. promising to stand with us as allies.
hockey is a lot of things for a lot of people on this site. for me it’s always been a safe place, discourse and occasional toxicity aside.
nothing has ever made me feel more grateful, or more validated in my chosen safe space, than this video. and maybe thats dramatic. maybe thats stupid. but my team, and one of my role models, just showed that they are, without a doubt, on my side, and as much in my corner as i am in theirs.
and that? that means everything to me.

Lmao aight so I was watching that telepathy-harmonising thing between eunkwang and changsub on sketchbook and suddenly I remembered that time they were on a radio show and were singing its okay and eunkwang wanted(/had?) to switch parts with hyunsik but hyunsik was so oblivious lmao eunkwang more or less had to slap him in the face to get his attention and even then it took a hella lot of body language to actually get the message across lol they're still so amazing tho all love to them

but remember during their military training in cool men ep2 changsub switched position with eunkwang wordlessly because he notice kwang is exhausted from holding the heaviest part of the boat? i still havent stopped crying and also in born to beat time the kwangsub unit stage and sub was like i cant believe eunkwang hyung and i knew each other for 10 years and they say i love you to each other and then they hugged it out….. will i ever be able to stop crying about modern line 😭🙏🏻😭🙏🏻😭🙏🏻😭🙏🏻😭🙏🏻😭🙏🏻😭🙏🏻😭🙏🏻😭🙏🏻😭🙏🏻

that was a great joke. good job me

To be honest I have no words to describe the incredible sadness I feel by the death of Johan Cruijff. As soon as I got the notification from Dutch news site on my phone I couldn’t stop myself from crying and tbh I still havent stopped. Everyone is Whatsapping each other and almost like trying to comfort each other. On Dutch news it’s of course all we see right now. Journalists, coaches, ex-players or just normal people online aren’t afraid to say they all cried or had tears in there eyes when they heard the news.

For all that you gave Dutch football: The great name we now have in the world, the total football you gave the sport, the great memories you gave the Dutch football fans: Thank you.

For all that you’ve done for Ajax - the club you loved so much - on and off the field (and off the field it was not always appreciated by the board) Thank you so much.

For all that you’ve done for FC Barcelona a club that couldn’t even be compared to what they are now before you came there. You gave them their pride back not only as a player but also as a coach. Without you no La Masia, no Puyol, Xavi, Iniesta, Pique, Busquets, Valdes, Sergi, Rafinha, Thiago. No Lionel Messi. Thank you.

And not to be forgotten: The Johan Cruyff Foundation. More than 200 Cruyff Courts in 22 countries. The Johan Cruyff Institute, College and University. Thank you.
