Uhhh so Ron plays quidditch and theres a big game coming up so theyre really stressed about it and are spending all their time on perfecting their technique so theyre ignoring the reader and she gets upset then it ends in fluff and cuddles I guess
“Wood’s going crazy! We had a 3 hour practice today and didn’t have one break!” Ron ranted, angry with his team captain.
You opened your mouth to speak, but of course, someone had beat you to it. Harry had appeared almost out of no where, asking Ron if he would like to discuss the new techniques Wood’s tried to get them to memorize.
You could see Ron obviously wanted to go with Harry, knowing he would never remember without help. So when he looked at you with a questioning look on his face, you gave a small smile, “Go, Ron.” He immediately was grateful, engulfing you in a quick hug and kissed the top of your head before hustling down the hallway with Harry, leaving you in the middle of the corridor.
The next day was a Saturday, and you were in the Great Hall for breakfast, waiting for Ron and the rest of your friends to come. You and Ron hadn’t talked much yesterday, only when he had ranted about practice. You knew the team is under lots of pressure with a big game coming up, but you just felt lonely now that Ron had other things to do. Ron and his teammates came in together in a group, talking amongst themselves and once again looking stressed. Ron sat down next to you as usual, and his team followed, squishing you between Ron and Harry, much to your dismay.
Ron was turned away from you, talking to one of his teammates about a team meeting they were having tonight whilst simultaneously stuffing his face with food. You put your hand softly on his shoulder and he turned his head towards you slightly in acknowledgement. “Ron? Are we still on for tonight?” You had planned a date weeks ago for you and Ron to spend some time together, since you had not done so for quite a while. “Can’t. Gonna be with the team.” he responded quick, with a mouth full of food before turning his attention back to his teammate.
“Ron, we’ve been planning this for weeks! We haven’t hung out just the two of us for such a long time!” you replied, shocked at his behavior. “We’re hanging out right now aren’t we?” Ron said, sarcastically. The quidditch team, apart from Harry, had all been eavesdropping and laughed at the remark made by Ron. “Its not the same.” You responded softly, your voice breaking slightly towards the end of your sentence before you got up from the table and ran to your dorm so that no one would see your tears.
You were in your dorm hours later, with your curtains drawn and your sheets pulled into your chest. You had been in this position for hours, trying to sleep away the troublesome headache that just wouldn’t go away. You knew you had already missed lunch, but other than that piece of information you had absolutely no idea what time it was. Somehow, you had finally fallen asleep, but woke up again to arms wrapping around you and a face nuzzled in your neck. You sighed with annoyance, turning your back to him to which he groaned.
“Love, I’m sorry.” he mumbled into your neck. You laid, unresponsive to his apology. He continued, “You know I love you. So much.” You broke, sobs escaping before you could even process what was going on. “C’mere, Love.” He turned you over, letting you hold onto his shirt and cry into his chest. He whispered sweet things into your ear until your crying became controlled. “You know I don’t mean to ignore you. We’ve just all been so stressed about the ga-” you cut him off. “I know, Ron. I’m sorry I made you feel bad.” He held onto you tighter and kissed your forehead, and eventually the two of you fell asleep.
