Here’s a sensual(?) cute(?) Dan fact for you today: When Dan’s girlfriend was sick during high school he skipped school to bring her soup to help her feel better. Aw. What he got in return was his first blow job. Hooray! His internal response was, “I was receiving fellatio from her and looking at the clock and seeing that it was one thirty in the afternoon and thinking- wow, my friends are in class right now. This is the best.”✼

I took my first shot on February 10th 2016, I skipped my classes and drove to Boystown, Chicago. Now today, being exactly one year later I am freer than ever before. I am currently a month and a few days post-top surgery as well. I shave weekly and I’m looking into undergoing bottom surgery once I finish paying my carecredit expenses. I never truly grasped confidence until now as I hear my voice and see the reflection of the individual I call myself.
I have a question for you all. Has your teacher ever skipped class on the first day of school?
My professor didn’t show up today. He didn’t even send us an email saying he wouldn’t be coming either. We all just sat there, not knowing what to do for the good hour that we waited for him. I have to say, I’m severely disappointed in his professionalism readers!
A few of my peers mentioned that he might have been ‘taken’, but I’m pretty sure that’s just the sophomores messing with us freshmen. Taken by what? The ‘secret campus police’? Even I can come up with more creative jokes then that!
Oh right! I almost forgot, I was going to give you all a picture I took of somewhere on campus. Goodness I apologize readers! I keep forgetting to give you a new picture a day like on the old blog- but I’ll see what I can do today! Expect a second blog later tonight!
Today I skipped my first morning class because I was up until after 4am the night before finishing Chem homework.
Today, my study partner (we’re more than just study partners) asked if I have plans “next tuesday” and I was so confused, I was like why next tuesday??? Then I realized. I haven’t felt this happy about things in so long ( ´ ▽ ` )
listen. i don’t recommend skipping class. ever. i barely ever do it. i hadn’t even done it before college. but i get it. sometimes, desperate times call for desperate measures. here are some things you should think about before you skip, as well as some tips if you decided to rebel.
first things first : why do you want to skip class ?ask yourself this. find a decent answer.
are you sick ? if so, are you so sick that you can’t get out of bed ? are you so sick you know you won’t be able to concentrate ? in those cases, stay home. otherwise, go to school.
are you unable to get out of bed due to your blankets being too comfortable ? dude. go. this is not a good excuse.
are you behind on your homework ? do you have an essay to write ? an exam to study for ? i personally think that it’s a good reason. it’s almost always my excuse for skipping a class.
is the class boring ? NOT good enough. but can you get all the material from the power points or the textbook ? good enough.
so you decided to skip class ? here’s what you should do.
ask somebody for their notes. it’s simple. a friend, a stranger, who cares. finding notes is essential !
if the teacher provides power points, make sure you use it. i recommend recopying (by hand or on the computer) the slides and using it as a base. if you know the teacher reads the power points and doesn’t really add any info, that should pretty much be enough.
make sure you do the assigned reading VERY seriously and use your reading notes to add onto your power point notes.
if there is additional reading, do it. even if you never do it. it’ll help, i promise.
in the extreme cases where you can’t get someone’s notes, don’t have access to a power point/any other support and don’t have any readings, there are a few things you can do. if you know what that specific class was about, find some ressources online. if there is nothing on the subject well good luck friend !
the art of skipping class, simplified.
don’t skip class if there is an exam/assignment the following week.
don’t skip class if you are graded on participation, even if it’s only 1% ! every percent counts !!
don’t skip class just because your friends are skipping. you are your own person. be responsable.
don’t skip class to piss your parents off.
do skip class if you truly feel terrible. don’t force yourself too much.
do skip class if you’re very familiar with the topic. in college, you will often learn the same things in different classes. if you already know the subject, skip.
choose your battles : don’t skip just because the teacher is boring but do skip if the teacher reads his power points. don’t skip classes with no visual/textual support but do skip the ones where the teacher provides summaries of the lecture.
try not to skip two lectures in a row and even more importantly, don’t skip more than 25% of the lectures. your grades WILL suffer.
Journey to the Centre of the Simulated Paradise Floating Through Space
One of the exercises we did in class today involved reflecting on moments we’ve had in gaming that were important to us, for whatever reason. Some people picked emotional moments, others picked moments of victory and some picked moments that stood out to them because they hated them so much.
It was an interesting exercise to think about, so I thought I’d share a couple of my favourite moments with you lovely folk.
My two moments involve Journey and SOMA, and there will be spoilers for SOMA so I guess I’ll write that one first and you can just skip ahead to Journey if you like.
welllll i lost some of my art supplies and i dont have time to run out and get new ones so i guess im skipping class today
this is the first time i’ll be missing a session for this class so it wont hurt my grade terribly, and it’ll give me more time to finish the paper that’s due tomorrow without being too rushed, but i still feel like a tool for forgetting and skipping :(
TANGLED ELECTRIC UPDATE: So I was a little disappointed at first today because out of the two classes we shared together, I skipped the first one and he skipped the second one so I didn’t think we’d see each other all day.
BUt then later that day I was working in the research lab on campus, minding my own business, when he just walks into the office where I work?? And it wasn’t weird that he knew where it was, because I’ve showed it to him before and we hang out there sometimes. But it was more like out of the blue he just remembered that I was working there today and he was passing by and he stopped in to see me?? Because he remembered I was working and wanted to say hi??? I was beaming afterwards he was so pure.
Then after work I was going to meet my friend somewhere and I happened to run into him again and we had a nice little chat about things. I asked him if he was going to the SEDS meeting this week (which is where we met) and he was like uh yeah, then he asked me if I was going. I said yeah I was and was a little hurt because he didn’t remember where we met. But then he said something that still makes me warm:
“You know what’s funny? It feels like we never actually met and you were just always around.”
Guys I’m falling deeper and deeper and I don’t know what to do
i really love reading books i love staying up until 5am so i can finish the book as soon as possible i love skipping classes bc that book was too good for me to go to sleep i really love being sleep deprived bc sorry books come first i can totally function on three hours of sleep i really love reading a whole trilogy in six days or less bc i dont have my priorities straight
This is actually off-topic (not related to Judaism in any way), but I’m taking the freedom to reach to our disabled followers (whether Jewish or non-Jewish): if you need accommodations at your school/college/university, insist the most you can.
I know, this is tiresome and puts a burden on you instead of the people who should be assisting you, but don’t leave it to chance if you can.
I’ve been trying to receive accommodations for a long time. At my previous university, they weren’t accommodating at all, despite medical evidence. At my current college, I dropped my documents months ago at the CSD (Centre for Students with Disabilities), got an intake interview at the end of January, and received a call yesterday that my accommodations will be made available starting Wednesday, February 24.
The problem? They’ve decided on this weeks ago, but only informed me yesterday. I have TWO midterms (back to back) today. I’m skipping my first class so I can focus on getting ready for midterms I shouldn’t be taking — but if I’m not there, the policy of the college is to not do anything to help because my accommodations won’t be put in place until tomorrow.
Not only that, I’ve also faced resistance in seeking accommodations because apparently my grades last semester “are too high for a student with barriers to learning.” Well, I’m sorry that 1) I had to put my grades before my health, 2) I’ve had very understanding profs who actually were caring instead of the people whose sole job is to assist disabled students (and fail to do so).
TL;DR: non-disabled people’s attitudes towards disabled people are shitty. News at 11.
[27/100] - 22.01.16 // I skipped my first two classes today (even though I went to my wind ensemble rehearsal before classes started!) so I could study for my chemistry summative, and it was really beneficial!! I got my mark back from it already and I got a 100%!!
Fabulous person! I was delighted with the positive reaction that came from Washboard Wednesday, Valentine Edition.
I appreciated all of your notes!
I was particularly delighted that so many were looking forward to today’s installment. Yes, just the thought of Oliver Queen in a tux sets the heart skipping a little doesn’t it? I must say, it inspired me.
Valentine’s Day and flowers just go together, as do beautiful men and tuxes.
Here is your first Valentine, my friend. Oliver Queen is a class act.
I enjoyed creating the next image very much. Picking out the flowers for this project has been especially fun.
This final edit took some time, but I am so freaking happy with it. I would like to dedicate it to the delightful and awesome @mel-loves-all, who is celebrating a birthday today. Hope her day is gorgeous.
Finally, I am adding bonus suspenders. For reasons.
There you have it. I hope that all of you lovely people have enjoyed Tuxedo Thursday. Please share with your friends who like pretty things.
Tomorrow will be Forearm Friday, Valentine’s Edition!
