Hey, I just saw in your last ask that you you're transferring to Valencia. I got my AA from them, seriously love the school, best community college ever. I don't really have any tips or advice for the school since it seems you're already pretty deep into classes and not my same major and idek what campus you'd be on, I just thought I'd send some positivity as a Valencia alumni.

thanks friend! the whole reason im transferring is because I heard the teachers/curriculum for my degree program are much nicer there than at Ucf, and I already have a few friends enrolled so fingers crossed!

I am fucking incredible

I’ve become that person who, if you need someone to give you housing and other help, I will support you until you get back on your feet.

I’ve been working like, 30 hours a week at my minimum wage job in order to support myself, my baby, and unfortunately my fiance who is out of work atm, also his brother and pregnant girlfriend just moved in with us and his dad is coming to live with us before the end of the month.

On top of that, I’m juggling school, motherhood, and housework. (plus my totally bitchin’ tumblr account)

I AM SO TIRED

But it’s totally worth it because I know- UNDENIABLY- that I go above and beyond everyone’s expectations of a “teen mom” every. single. day.

  • Me: *goes to sleep late because of studying and projects*
  • Mom: you really should get more sleep in.
  • Me: *takes an hour nap in the afternoon*
  • Mom: wHY ARE YOU SLEEPING? YOU SHOULD BE FINISHING YOUR ASSIGNMENTS AND STUDYING WAKE UP AND FEED THE DOGS SWEEP AND MOP THE FLOOR VACUUM THE WHOLE HOUSE AND TAKE OUT THE TRASH—WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE TIRED? YOU JUST SLEPT

What's your reasoning for applying to women's colleges? I'm looking into some (namely Smith and Barnard) but I'm not sure if I'm sold on the idea of a women's college and its benefits if u know what I mean?

My reasoning is that I just… don’t see any negatives to attending a women’s college? I’m bisexual, so it’s not like going to a women’s college would hinder my romantic life in any fashion (I know this is a concern for a lot of girls, but it’s seriously never crossed my mind.) I love how feminist women’s colleges are. They are liberal arts colleges with a focus on female empowerment and political activism, all of which I absolutely love. I think that the comradery that comes from attending a women’s college is distinct from the school spirit found at coed colleges. Women’s colleges attract a certain type of applicant, and I think I fit in with those people.
