Betty had just turned 13 a few days before and now Betty and Jughead were sitting in the empty Cooper’s living room, her legs draped over his ripped jeans. They were lounging around because school ended a little early, watching the first harry potter movie.
“I had a thought,” Jughead said, turning his head towards the petit blonde.
“Oh no,” Betty said, smiling at her best guy friend.
“I swear its a good one this time!” Jughead said, letting out a small chuckle.
“Fine, what is it,” Betty giggled, rolling her eyes.
“I think that Harry and Draco should be together. Did you know that during the last movie they were going to get Draco to run to Harry when he woke up? He was going to scream ‘POTTER’ when he saw that he was awake, run to him and throw him his wand.” Jughead said, pulling his beanie off his head, running his fingers through his dark locks.
“Dude, I have shipped Drarry forever. Do you not read my 3am texts when I can’t sleep?” Betty said, shoving his arm with her foot.
“Yeah, I know. But let’s be honest, Draco was probably so excited to go to school with Harry and he just turned him down! It’s so sad.” Jughead said, pushing her feet away.
“Yeah,” Betty said, looking back to the three eleven year olds that molded the youngest coopers life.
They continued to watch the rest of the movie, and somehow Betty ended up with her head off the end of the couch and her feet up on the wall. Jughead was sitting with his back on one of the arms, his feet over her stomach. They were just starting the second movie when Betty felt something between her legs.
“Crap,” Betty said, lifting her head so it was no longer upside down.
“What? What happened?” Jughead said, pulling his legs off of her stomach.
“I’ll be back,” Betty said, doing a back summer salt off of the couch and running up the stairs to her bathroom. She sat down on the toilet and put her head in her hands when she saw the splotch of red on the inside of her underwear. She went into the drawer under her sink to grab a pad that her mom had stashed on her birthday incase of something like this. She went out quickly and grabbed a new pair of underwear and freshened herself up.
She was on her way downstairs when she was hit with her first cramp. It made her double over and clench her abdomen.
“Hey Betty, are you ok?” Jughead asked from the living room.
“Yeah, I’m coming down now.” Betty said, finally standing up and making her way back to the living room. She finally made her way into the living room, and lobbed down on the couch, cuddling into herself. Jughead came and sat down next to her, rubbing her back.
“Hey B, what’s up?” Jughead asked, turning the movie back on.
“I started,” Betty said, her face turning red.
“Started what?” Jughead said, moving his hand to her lower back.
“My period,” Betty mumbled into her arm, quiet enough so Jughead could barely hear.
“What?” Jughead said, pushing her blonde hair off of the side of her face.
Betty sat up quickly and turned to face her best friend. “My period Juggie! My vagina is bleeding and I don’t know how to deal with it!” Betty said, a few tears forming in the corner of her eyes.
“Have you never had your period before?” Jughead said, eyebrows furrowed in confusion and worry.
“No! Why else would I be freaking out?” Betty said, slapping the couch. “Sorry Jug, I’m just in a weird mood right now.”
“Oh, so this is probably why you cried yesterday during lunch because you finished your cupcake.” Jughead said, pulling in Betty for a hug.
“Ok, just take a deep breath or something,” Jughead said, trying to figure out what to do.
“Take a deep breath? It feels like my insides are being RIPPED OUT!” Betty said, her tears finally falling down her cheeks.
“Here, I have an Advil in my bag for my headaches, and Archie gave me some because V needed some and he always forgot his bag.” Jughead said, reaching into his black backpack. He pulled it put of her bag and handed her her glass of water. “Why are you glaring at me?” Jughead asked, handing Betty the water and pill.
“I’m hoping you’ll spontaneously combust.” Betty said, swallowing the Advil. She placed the water back on the side table and leaned into Jughead’s chest. “Sorry Juggie, you know I love you, I’m just not feeling great.”
“Yeah, thats understandable.” Jughead said, slowly wrapping one of his arms over her shoulder, smiling to himself. “Ready to watch more Draco Malfoy?”
“Yeah, let’s go.”
